Miam as good as toronto

Tried Isshin Ramen in Toronto in October and was happily surprised to learned we had one in Montreal. Ilovd it in Toronto on top of falling in love with the whole Torontos vine in October/Fall...but gosh...That spicy red miso soup hit a little extra yummy after a walk in the cold Québec wind lol I will definitely be back again. Ramen at Isshin should be a staple for braving Québecs winter.

A great discovery! I liked my spicy miso (which is not that spicy). Lots of flavor in the broth. Disappointed that there wasnt that much topping. You can order online and pay directly without having to go through the waitress.

I am Japanese and a big fan of ramen, but this place has impressed me the most among all the ramen shops I ve tried in Montreal. The type of noodles changes depending on the soup, and they were so firm and tasty that they were delicious even on their own. Today, I had the Miso and Shoyu ramen, but next time, I ll try the Shio ramen as well. I would also like to add that the bright and friendly staff provide excellent service, and you won t hesitate to leave a tip. haha! Their smiles will make your meal even more enjoyable.

My favorite place for ramen on Mont-Royal Street. Good location a few blocks from the Mont-Royal metro station.

Best ramen outside of the city (mtl)

First time at Ramen isshin and it is by far the best ramen soup. We also chose gyosa with okonomiaki and EVERYTHING was excellent. The staff is very friendly and their service is impeccable. I recommend!!

The ramen was very salty. The service was okay. Prices are okay as well. When I was eating I found hair in my food twice. In the takoyaki and in the ramen we ordered along me and my friend. To finish this off , when we were about to go and pay off our bill the waitress couldn t split our bill in two so I had to pay full price which made it a huge issue. Quite unpleasant.

I really liked the ramen, the flavors were well defined. I recommend.

Soup is bland, the chaishu is not cooked well and doesn t have the required smokiness. The back line staffer in the kitchen has changed. Would not recommend this place at all. Go to Kazo ramen instead, it s 10 mins walk. You get way better value for your money.

Very good ramen, only the chashu perhaps leaves something to be desired and lacks tenderness. The broth is a real hug. However the service left a little to be desired. One of the waitresses was really rude and didnt even look at us while taking our order. She was also mistaken because she didnt listen either, too focused on other things.

Delicious food. Clear and concise menu. Easy ordering with smartphone. Clean place. Price to review for starters or increase the portion. We received our drinks when we had almost finished our main meals...so timing wise it needs to be reviewed. Also that customers who arrived after us received their dishes before us (and starters and soups). So, yes I recommend trying this restaurant, but dont be in a hurry. Bench and chairs really not comfortable.

I was humiliated in front of my family after tipping under 15%. The employee questioned my decision and was very rude and confrontational about it. Would he have preferred no tip? We live in Montreal, I could not possibly have been the first person to tip a reasonable amount. Also the music was way too loud. The food at least was good and prepared fast. But there was no stellar service that warranted an 18% tip like come on. The dude was a bully. I clearly look like a student and I m eating a side dish of edamame, do you think I can afford to tip you 15%? Grow up.

Standard good ramen. I tried the raw octopus, did not see it anywhere else in Montreal. Chewy and not fishy.

We had the karaage and the dumplings to share as a starter in addition to a ramen each for a meal. The red miso was super good, well seasoned and the broth was tasty and warm. The added sides are also not expensive and add a lot of flavor. I recommend for anyone who wants a good ramen. Parking: Parking relatively easy to find on the perpendicular streets if you are local. Otherwise, it is easier to pay the parking meter and forget your car during dinner time

Having recently returned from Toronto and the restaurants there are plentiful on almost every street corner. The Ramen noodles there are excellent and I wanted to find an equivalent in Montreal. Access and parking is obviously not easy with one-way streets everywhere, roadworks and parking spaces are rare. We went around lunchtime thinking it would be crowded but luckily not. We were welcomed immediately and directed to a table. The menu is done via our cell phone by scanning the QR code. We had help from the waiter to choose our dish. The bowls arrive quickly on a tray, I am pleasantly surprised!!!! Everything is good although I would have liked it to be 25% less salty, I think that if we could choose the degree of salt added would be really interesting. Negative note, the music could be at a lower volume, I dont really like loud music. We have to speak louder for nothing. Excellent broth, good service, excellent chicken starter

I recently visited Ramen Isshin in Montreal, and while our server was friendly and attentive, our overall experience was marred by the kitchen staffs handling of our concerns. Initially, we were greeted by a server who was pleasant and accommodating. However, when the kitchen staff member came out to take our order, his demeanor was abrupt and unwelcoming. Our meal began with edamame that was overly salted, but we chose not to complain at that point. When the ramen arrived, we quickly realized that it was also excessively salty, making it difficult to enjoy. We hesitated to mention it, but ultimately decided to inform our server, who was understanding and assured us she would communicate our feedback to the kitchen. Unfortunately, the response from the kitchen staff was less than professional. The same individual returned, displaying a confrontational attitude, stating that we should have indicated our preference beforehand and that he wouldn t modify the dish in the future. This left us confused, as it was our first visit, and we had no way of knowing the foods saltiness. When the remade bowls arrived, we were disappointed to find that they were not full and seemed to be a reduced portion, presumably based on the assumption that we had consumed some of the original bowls. Additionally, the quality of the ramen did not improve, remaining mediocre at best. In summary, while the service from our server was commendable, the kitchens response to our feedback was unprofessional, detracting significantly from our dining experience. I hope they can address these issues, as the concept has potential.

Decent ramen, nothing more. There are much better ones on Mont Royal. Super loud music which makes the atmosphere strange in such a small place. The staff is not very helpful.

In my opinion one of the best ramens in montreal. Broth is amazing and noodle texture on point. Portions are also very generous! Couple a negative points: 1- no free extra chilli powder or sauce everything is a surcharge. At least its homemade chilli sauve 2- menu description said 1 egg be we only got 1/2 egg

Forgot to take pictures but I was definitely impressed. I ve been to Japan so I can give a fair comparison; Isshin has it down. I got the spicy shio and some karaage and it was delicious. Creamy flavourful broth, just spicy enough and just enough perfectly cooked noodles. The karaage were crunchy with nice, big pieces of chicken. Using their app also made it really easy to order and customize the ramen with plenty of choices to pick from. Really excited to have another good ramen in the neighbourhood!

Good ramen, but asking for a minimum 18% tip at a restaurant where you order on your phone leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I cant in good faith recommend restaurants that try to abuse tip culture and contribute to the problem.

Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are vegan if you substitute the noodles for their vegan noodles and theyre DELICIOUS. Dietary restrictions: They make vegan noodles that are amazing tasye and texture-wise.

Waitress offer good service. But the soup is too salty for me. And it is summer but their air conditioner is not cool....I felt so hot....and they said it already turn on maximum...

Great ramen place in Plateau Mont-Royal. The system of ordering on your phone is perfect for individual dining, but with multiple friends it can be a hassle. I took the Kotteri Shoyu Ramen. The broth was good, but a little bit salty (I know its suppose to be the rich broth). The noodles werent good at all. The chashu had a good taste and toppings were well chosen. I also had the karrage chicken, that I would recommend to share with friends.

Quiet diner spot in a hot, noisy city called Montreal.

Decent ramen, but soaked in oil. Oily gyozas, over fried, not good. Service seriously leaving something to be desired: left us hanging around on the terrace without menus, having to go and ask for it temperamental waitress, not friendly, making the wrong order and subsequently putting us at the end of the order line. Tells us its our fault.

Just a warning they dont have physical menu you gotta bring a smart phone to scan a QR code. Hadnt been there in a while. Service is ok but you have to ask for normal service things. Ramen took forever to come and seemed to have been not that hot when I received it. Very thin slices of cha shu. The large karaage don was pretty small. Music was loud Kpop. Service doesnt know how to say miso. I wont be returning for anything else than karaage don.

Excellent Ramen. I had a Shio, the Tan Tan with black sesame and pork and my friend a vegetarian. The kaedama noodles with kale are also interesting. A good address in Montreal. Their gyoza are good but a little expensive for just 5 pieces. I will come back to taste their new cold ramen

I recommend you Impeccable service, I didnt know anything about Ramen, I had ordered with the application, the waitress came to see me to fill up on what I had taken, (I had taken everything separately) finally I I had a spicy ramen really good. The pork starter is also delicious. I ate outside on the terrace, nice atmosphere, Mont-Royal is blocked off so all the people walking in the street give a nice atmosphere, and the sun was there

We went to eat Ramen as a group (6 people, on a Saturday evening). The flavors were there and the portions adequate, but many received items that were too cold, sometimes straight from the refrigerator. Too bad for roast pork. The service was very uneven, inefficient, and abrupt. When it came time to pay, many confusions had to be sorted out, and the waitress made us feel that we were disturbing her by paying separately, even though the restaurant was not full, and we had all consumed starters at the same time. , ramen, alcohol and extras. Overall, nothing too bad, but I wont go back, considering that other similar establishments are nearby. Vegetarian options: Expensive vegetarian options.

The ramen was just fine, the chashuu had a bit too much fat. There was nearly no meat at all. The noodles were good though. And really nice ambiance in the restaurant.

Very good black sesame broth

Overall pretty good ramen. All the toppings were delicious and the broth was satisfying. If youre socially anxious, this place is pretty neat because you can order and pay for everything online, even if you dine in.

Tried their roasted garlic shoyu, and shio ramen. Overall it was flavourful and good. The egg was nicely marinated and jammy (a bit on the sweet side). Chashu is on the salty side, and could be more tender. One suggestion is that there could be more soup. The soup barely covered the noodles.

It wasnt bad, but its better next door at Sansotei.

First time visiting. We ordered Garlic shoyu and the Red Dragon. My partner LOVES spice and he found that the Red Dragon was not spicy enough however, when he advised the staff they graciously offered more chilli to spice it up. I had the garlic ramen and found the garlic flavour to be faint and predominantly salty.

The ramen was excellent. The pork belly char siu was flavourful and so its the broth. The veggie Miso was surprisingly good. The Karaage chicken was crispy and tender. The place is a little bit small compared to the one from DIX30 and its always packed.

Their veggie ramen is appreciated, but the taste lacks complexity and subtlety. I would have preferred to have minced beef in my beef bowl rather than cubed. Edit: after checking, it was actually pork, hence my surprise. However, the cube format is a little too heavy for my taste.

We had a friends get together at this awesome Ramen venue and loved it ! By far the best Ramen in Montreal and we particularly loved the broth I had the Spicy Vegetarian Miso and it was so delicious and my partner loved his Garlic Shoyu Ramen as well The others had Shio Ramen as well as Spicy Shio and we all loved each bite as it was beyond tasty and very fulfilling. Small welcoming Japanese counter type place. The map is simple but you will find what you need. Not the best ramen Ive tasted but overall the food is okay. Service present and we pick up even before you finish your plates without asking you. We had to ask the waitress for our dish. $110 for 2 people (ramen, starters and beer) Quick service, we go there to eat, not to chat with friends, the space is limited and its IN/OUT type. It wasnt a bad try but there are better ones.
