I came to this place when the terrasse opened and they had this great 21$ deal for some ramen with a beer/soda. The ramen was really tasty and so was the side of fried chicken. The service/staff was fast and friendly :)
Great vibe and place. I was jamming with the song. Great service quick and simple. I recommend the uniqueness of their miso broth (red dragon). Great kick and flavour! Must visit again
Great experience overall. Took the number 1 with extra truffle oil. Soup base is rich and tasty, it feels very fatty like all other ramen soups. Noodles and meat are very good, and feels fresh. Good staff service. Would recommend for everyone.
The Tonkotsu ones are classics and taste very good. The tonkotsu with truffle tastes even better and is definitely worth a try. Some topping are not worth it, like the chili oil. The menu contains classical ramems and unique ones as well. The broth is rich and you are very full after your meal. The only downside is that thwre is very little difference between the thick and thin noodles. Staff is very nice, service is fast, ramem comes out piping hot!
Delicious ramen spot in Le Plateau. The black miso ramen’s broth was so tasty, lots of flavour with a bit of spice. Good quality cuts if meat at a fair price. Service was quick, so would see this as a great option for lunch or dinner with little time.
In my opinion, Sansotei is among one of the top 5 best ramen in Montreal. They don't have many choices, but it is usually a good sign as they focus on quality. I took the tonkatsu+ (extra meat with daikon). The soup was very good. Meats are tender, and the noodle are top notch. I will definitely come back.
We went on Ramen Ya event friday night. The restaurant was full and we had to wait a bit but it goes quickly. Staff is nice and food is very good. Recommend Kaarage and the tomato ramen which we haven't seen elsewhere. Would definitely go again.
Love the tonkotsu ramen here. We tried the original tonkotsu and tonkotsu+. Both their thick and thin noodles are good. The broth was just nice, rich and creamy yet not too heavy.. the cha su was very flavourful. Mushrooms and smoked meat were also great. the staff are friendly but the place is abit small. One needs to wait abit to get served. Overall very nice experience here!
Another ramen option among all those in Montreal. I suggest black tonkotsu which, thanks to its garlicky taste, brings something different.
We loved the ramen, the service was very friendly and attentive. We arrived in the morning and were quickly attended to.
Beautiful atmosphere, pleasant service and above all quality trains at a really low price! I recommend
Fast service for diner
The seats are narrower than those at Darun Santei. But the taste is consistently delicious. I highly recommend it. The tonkotsu noir is the best.
Super cozy little ramen shop. We feel good there, we are well received and the chairs are super comfortable. The service is fast, courteous, and calm. I had the tonkotsu black ramen (with black sesame oil). Delicious, I highly recommend it. The eggs are particularly good! Choice of thin or wide noodles...I didnt know which one to get. I took the thin ones. Very good.
The dishes were delicious and the service was quick and efficient. Thank you
My favorite ramen from Montreal! Everything is good! The fried chicken is also delicious! Always well served!
The ramen is super good as usual!! The service is top notch I think too!
Finally the pedestrian street is finished on Mont-Royal Street, I can finally return with my car to the area for a good Ramen soup! I had been to the one in St-Hubert and I liked it even though the bowl seemed small to me. The place is rather narrow but it was lunch time and the crowds had not yet started. The welcome and choice of table was quick, we were given time to consult the menu. Once the order is placed, the bowls arrive in a reasonable time (I had a special request and it was accepted without question). The soup arrives hot as I like it, the taste a little salty (I added a little water to sweeten everything) I would have liked a slightly bigger bowl with the noodles. Everything is good, nothing to complain about. The seats are very comfortable compared to other restaurants of this type. The air conditioning a little strong for my taste. Attentive service from the waitress. If you want good Ramen don t hesitate to come here. Ordered delivery, the buy 1 get 1 TanTan and croquettes. Absolutely delicious, amazing broth, and the pork is melt in your mouth. Hope to visit in person soon and try more ramen!
Delicious ramen in a modern atmosphere, friendly staff and good music.
Delicious
Excellent ramen with an authentic taste!
Delicious Ramen!
Excellent !
You want to eat Japanese, then this is the right place and real Japanese food. To do without hesitation.
Delicious pork, broth full of flavors. Generous portions.
In my opinion the best ramen in Montreal. I go there when I want to feel a bit like I m in Japan!
Very delicious, the chef is 100% Japanese. Very good service too
One of the best ramens in Montreal! The Toronto location tastes a bit better but still amazing!
Excellent chicken ramen! And the service was just as excellent!
Fast service and very delicious for its price range.
Absolutely perfect. Was looking for a good bowl of Tantanmen and this was exactly it.
Got the spicy tantan and was one of the best ramens I ve had in Montréal. Delicious, rich broth, melty chashu, perfect egg.
Best ramen in town and service is always super quick
So tasty ramen noodles and the super refreshing sparkling Ume!
Excellent staffs! Tomato ramen is the best Food
10/10 experience with this place I highly recommend! The broth was piping hot, full of flavor, and comforting especially during the cold below zero degree temperature that Montreal was on that day I visited. My friend and I came in here exhausted after a long day of shopping and exploring the city and were prepping for a drive to Quebec. The ramen at this place was the perfect power up that we needed. (Not pictured because we devoured them like savages ) but their chicken wings were bursting with flavor! Spicy and hot, super engaging to the senses. I also had a yuzu flavored cheesecake and it was light, delicious and creamy. Our server was wonderful, sweet and accommodating. If you ever find yourself craving ramen and are in Montreal, I recommend this place
I had the black garlic Tonkotsu, it was delicious! The broth is fragrant and full-bodied, quite thick, the meat is of good quality and the quantity of ingredients is generous. Very good place to eat Ramen!
Love the ramen here!!! You ll never regret taking Anything!! :)
The best place for ramen in Montreal!!
My big brother wanted to eat Japanese. That said, that done, we arranged to meet at Sansotei Ramen on Mont-Royal Avenue. Located two or three steps from a bus stop, the restaurant soberly announced by a logo representing drawings on the sand is a haunt for those looking for a bowl of authentic noodles. As far as I am concerned, authenticity in itself is not a predominant criterion, as I have never stayed in Japan. For others, rediscovering familiar flavors is evocative of pleasant moments in the land of the rising sun. Take our waitress, an interior design student who spent five wonderful years there. She assured us that our soup, mentioning the tonkonstu in particular, reminded her of many Japanese meals and that it is the affection for Japan that brings together the whole beautiful little team there. Of all the wonders and treasures contained there, it is after its gastronomy that it longs the most. It makes you want to travel there. Coming back to our ramen, my brother, on the one hand, mentioned their comforting power. This term comforting always leaves me a little wondering isn t that an overused word that can be attached to almost anything delicious? Is there scary food (insects?)? Finally. Still, this feeling is unknown to me, but there could really be a calming dimension to the anxiety, the sadness... Interesting! In short, are you looking for a bowl of comfort? Heres one. On the other hand, we seem to be on the same page regarding our penchant for modern ramen (see the Neotokyo model in this area) with bolder textures and more creative toppings. However, the traditional Sansotei dishes remain no less tasty! Here, I drank mine down to the dregs. However, in terms of decor, we allude to modernity with the black color of the bottom of the wall and the mural illustrating cooks at work. In addition, above our heads hang rows of sheets on which we can precisely observe this contrast between the white of the sheet carrying the characters of tradition ( ) and the black of that of the word reform ( ). Notably, being a Toronto chain, the prices are very affordable (you will have to pay around $17 for your noodles) and the place is especially suitable for a tasting on the go. To remember, therefore, dear lovers of tradition and Japanese fact! Vegetarian options: Yes, the mazemen, the simple set and the salad ramen . Parking: On Mont-Royal Avenue, there are not many free spaces. An hour will cost you an additional $4. Kid-friendliness: Yes, a high chair. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, I would say. Well, its relative. There is a small step to take and it is not the door that will open for you.
The best ramen I have ever had in my life. At all times the attention was very friendly. ---------------------- The Best ramen I tried so far, I would come here again
Great ramen soup with black garlic and mushrooms! Wow!
unilingual English-speaking staff, in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal. persist in speaking with the client in English despite the client repeatedly speaking to them in French. too bad, considering that other izakaya exist nearby, and they make this effort...
Best ramen
Excellent broth. New discovery. Not disappointed.
I ate the gyoza and tonkotsu ramen soup with black garlic oil. It was good but I wasnt super impressed. The decor is cool and modern, but the place is small and too bright. Its also very noisy. I suggest putting curtains in the front door in winter. Ill try again later...
Great service! A+ The food was excellent and we will definitely return! Very good prices! ! !
Great decor, great service, the pork was very fatty.
The ramen is amazing!
Like this place, its got a good vibe and a nice vhoice of ramen.
Excellent!
Ordered with Uber, never received the order and got no help from the restaurant... $50 for 2 ramens, I dont know how to express my dissatisfaction.
Very fast service, the employees are very nice and very welcoming! I plan to go back more often, that s for sure!
Really good ramen with good service. Recommended place as well.
Weve only ordered here via Uber as this is one of the only few ramen places that reaches to my workplace, and so far, every orders have been heavenly good to the taste. I cant even imagine how it must be much better when eaten fresh on place. I just wish they had more options for ramens, but I still recommend this place when youre craving for ramens!
My favorite ramen. The broth is incredible, the pasta and the topping too. Super friendly service.
I had gyoza and Spicy Tantan. Great flavor, fresh tasting, good spice. We were the only customers in the restaurant during the April 2023 ice storm. Staff was very friendly, will be going back. Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian ramen option that was recommended by our server and I will try next time we are there.
Enjoyed the Tonkotsu Ramen and fried chicken. Nice presentation. Fast and friendly service. Will go back.
Great experience!
It was not the same quality and taste as the one in Ottawa
Authentic Japanese ramen, the broth is light and flavorful, really love it. The slow cooked wings are delicious, we ordered two portions and couldn t stop eating them. A highly recommended restaurant!
The tomato ramen is so different from any other ramen and a good option if you want something less greasy. However all theirs ramens are delicious and youll always find what youre looking for. A great place to have lunch especially when the mont-royal is only closed to cars like every summer.
have send the complete wrong order, when we asked them to send us the right order they told us they couldn t do anything. Last time we order from them, at the price we paid this is not acceptable.
Very good Ramen, the service is very friendly
Super nice waitresses and super fast service. Ramen just excellent. Impeccable value for money.
Best ramen Ive ever had in Montreal. The staff is very friendly also!
This is the ramen Ive been looking for my whole life.
Very good experience, delicious ramen, and young and friendly atmosphere. Vegetarian options: Some ramen configurations OK for vegans Dietary restrictions: Overall OK for gluten intolerants, but not sure of the composition of tamari.
Excellent tonkotsu broth - delicious thick ramen noodles. The chasu has a curious (not unpleasant) smoky flavour to it. Recommended!
Best ramen I ever tasted. Service is amazing. The menu is very well thought out. The ingredients are fresh and juicy. I simply love love love this place!
it is delicious. The soup is also rich.
I loved my soup! The service was excellent and the price reasonable in the current context and especially the food offering in the city center. A little noisy at lunchtime but it was still pleasant. Im definitely going back. All the employees are warm and smiling, it s pleasant.
Very good ramen place ! The broth was so rich and good ! Very comforting. I would recommend!
Mediocre all around.
Fast, excellent
The food is really good. I always eat there personally because it is not too expensive, and also because it is delicious in my opinion.
The food was very good to excellent. But the service was subpar. It was a quiet Sunday afternoon (Nov 5-2023) and there was a waitress and a waiter. They barely looked at us when taking and giving us our orders and neither cracked a smile. The worst part was when the waitress sat down at a table near us and put her head down on the table. She was obviously resting or sleeping, but we found it very inappropriate. Her hair was touching the table. Maybe she wasn t feeling well but she should have gone home if that was the case. Also, neither of the servers seemed to know much about the noodles when asked a question and have us very vague answers. I really like the food but now will have to decide if I will return.
Best ramen in Montreal
Sansotei is a Toronto chain with now 19 branches in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. Beautiful visual presentation of the menu and easy identification of options and prices. Fast service, at the table. Small place therefore limited number of seats (I dont understand the comment that there is no menu?! There is one!) Comment on 2 visits: the first time, I had the tonkatsu and found it ordinary. But for the 2nd visit, I took the black miso and it was extraordinary. Sansotei makes very good broths, that s their strength. The pork is also very good. It is in terms of toppings that they are less generous (like Kinton). There is no memna, no nori, for the price, could be more generous. In the end, better than average but not the best in Montreal so 4/5. Parking: It is almost impossible to park here, very little parking and impossible on surrounding streets due to resident permits.
Item missing during delivery. I was offered to come pick it up. Do you understand the joke?
The atmosphere is calm and warm. I took the Brûlé Shoyu Ramen and I loved the broth (I already started the ramen in the photo but it looks like this with eggs and a naruto)
I can easily say that this is the best ramen I ve had in the city so far, Great presentation and an amazing taste! Bonus points for having Ramune available too!
This place just opened and is fantastic! Super friendly staff and amazing food.
The Ramen is amazing!! Loved the pork and soup base!! And the staff are so sweet and attentive
Good unpretentious tonkatsu ramen, the chashu pork was tender and tasty, the broth had the flavor and creaminess characteristic of tonkatsu ramen, for the Karaage chicken, it was good, but nothing more, on the other hand, the portion was generous for the price.
Portion were huge and delicious. It can therefore be hard for those with small stomach to finish entirely so order wisely ! They recommended the thin noodles with the tonkatsu broth but personally, after trying both, although the thick noodles makes it a bit saltier, the texture was way better so I recommend thick noodles !
Its so delicious, the bowl is big, enough, and the soup is thick. Its better than the boiled pork noodles I eat in Japan. The only problem is that its a little salty.
First time in Montreal. Been to the ones in Ottawa. Same food but a little spicier. Will go again.
There are two ramen restaurants almost adjacent to each other, and both are excellent.
Highly recommended. The Yuzu Cheesecake is also excellent!
My go to ramen in Montreal. I usually have the Miso Black with extra corn, the broth is AMAZING! The staff are very friendly and service was super fast, I will be returning
Great ramen, great place, super fast and very kind service. I LOVED IT. I had the Tonkontsu noir and the giozas.
Very good
The best Ramen I have ever eaten Super good
My favorite ramen place in Montreal
Great place. One of the best in Montreal!
Very welcoming restaurant. Extremely fast service, the ramen is simply excellent! I recommend
Amazing broth and meat!!
Very smiling and welcoming team. The Tonkotsu ramen with black garlic was excellent!
Had the black Tonkatsu ramen with Gyoza. Both were delicious. Nice presentation and large proportion. Small but clean, the decorations are not bad either.
Beyond amazing ! Excellent service, staff so nice and food delicious
We tried the simple set 12 in Ottawa. Unfortunately, there is not this option at the Montreal branch.
Delicious ramen. The ingredients are full of flavors.
Extraordinary ramen (miso), yuzu cheesecake as well. Do not hesitate !
Excellent ramen with great taste, the gyozas are just as delicious. The service is also faster, I recommend!
I ate here yesterday, had diareah 3 times at home. Went to bed and woke up with the shakes, shivers, fever. Went to the bathroom 4 more times. Thanks for the food poisoning, this is why you dont go to chain ramen restaurants!! Now ill have to miss work.
Very very bad restaurant!! Really lousy service. Excessive waiting This is not recommended
Excellent
Good
seriously an uber eats order that takes 1.5 hours for delivery? Ive been waiting for 25 minutes for it to be validated and I see that 10 minutes are added each time. I was supposed to be delivered by 8:40 p.m., finally a message told me that they forgot me and that I would be delivered by 9 p.m. and whats more the guy comes by bike, so with the rain Im going to eat wet and cold. A commercial gesture would be welcome, its the minimum when you forget a customer, but nothing is offered.
This is the best ramen place I know in Montreal and they have a lot of spots in Toronto it looks like. Their chashu is the best in town. They give 2 slices in the ramen and an extra gives you two more. Usually I cant finish so I find that 3 is the sweet spot but they dont offer a price just for one extra. This time though it was a bit charred and the flavor was slightly different, I preferred it the first time I went about a month ago. The thick noodles are great, the thin ones werent my thing because they didnt have the same taste, they were less chewy and tasted more like flour. The black garlic oil tonkotsu is amazing so I had that again this time. I cant begin to explain how amazing the broth is, and the egg is also perfect! The karaage is very very good, I totally recommend! This time we shared the gyozas but I had mixed feelings about it. The dough seems home made and the texture was great. The sauce is very liquid but on the stronger side, so you never get too much at once but it ads a really good flavor! The inside though was a bit mild. It tasted of pork and green onions I think, but there was not much seasoning. I am used to a recipe a Japanese friend showed me that has garlic, ginger, pepper, soy sauce and salt, it has lots of aromas and seasoning and its very good. I dont know if its a similar recipe there, but I couldnt taste much beyond the meat itself and I expected a bit more taste. The texture though was great, it was perfectly cooked and a bit crispy on one side. They have super interesting beers also, my partner tried one with ginger and it had a really good taste. Next time I want to try one flavored beer as well. They have a great selection of umeshu, sake and other alcohol as well. I have tried their mugicha last time and I wasnt disappointed! I really missed this drink I discovered in Japan and it was everything I remembered Well be back again for sure! Thank you for great food and great taste!!
An extraordinary broth Vegetarian options: Vegetarian dish available
Delicious ramen! Would go again.
Few tables and a little bright dentist light but the ramen is still good. The quality is the same as in other sansotei ramen (same dish tested in Ottawa), i.e. impeccable. THANKS
Came to see me a few times to make sure I was happy with my ramen. Excellent service. Everybody says hello and arigato!
I ordered through Uber and was so disappointed. The broth was very very sweet, as if I was eating a dessert. The soup was half of the bowl. I ve ordered through other ramen shops in Mtl where they either had the soup apart from the noodles or with the noodles and I ve never seen as little broth as this one. Apart from that, noodles and char siu were good.
Kid-friendliness: Staff promptly got out a high chair for one my kids and provided enough space for my stroller as well. Food
Good ramen, especially the black garlic one!
A well-made broth
Really good ramen with flavor (the one with truffle oil really tasted like truffle oil), good portions and the staff were really very pleasant and welcoming.
Always good The pork is absolutely excellent
I would highly recommend the fried chicken and tonkotsu black. The portions are very generous too.
If you are Vegan or full on vegetarian I dont suggest eating here because all the soups are pork based . Only one vegetarian option. But still very delicious.
Very good Ramen! I would recommend, super cute atmosphere for a cozy date
Simply the best Ramen in Montreal! The broth is rolling on the floor.
Most often, elements of the order are missing when we have it delivered but on site it is always perfect. Probably the best little ramen restaurant on the plateau. Truly excellent.
Delicious, I order about 5-6 times and always good. The fried chicken is definitely worth trying
Simple but beautiful place, excellent ramen, very good service. Theyre not trying to be super fancy, but for me its the best ramen in Montreal in terms of quality/price. Their less conventional ramens are also surprisingly delicious.
