A select menu of Japanese ramen dishes (made with signature pork-bone broth) in a cozy setting.
Small front area, however there's upstairs seating. Service was fast, everyone was friendly. Ramen is very fresh, flavorful Thin noodles are cooked to perfection. Tried almost every soup base ramen Tomato based was my favorite, there's also a scallop in there. Wish there were more ingredients so there's no add on cost. Cheesecake was good just small Fried chicken was good. Would recommend!
Really good ramen and zangi. Saki selection was great. Service was brisk but I wasn’t wanting for anything. Black Tonkatsu Ramen wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was very tasty. Toppings arrived cold. The chicken was excellent. I’d go again. But wouldn’t go out of my way.
Very good food for a good quality-price. Menu offers various options of ramen. Staff is nice and friendly. Few outdoor seatings options available.
The food is perfect for what it is. All the ingredients are cooked exactly as they should be. The eggs are soft boiled, the roasted pork is moist and the pork bone broth is deeply delicious. The mushrooms are sweet and spicy and the chili threads are just hot enough. I don't think the Ramen can actually be improved upon.
Good taste and value for the price! I would’ve liked more taste in the broth. It seems to be missing missing the spicy mayonnaise that usually bring up the spice on the fried chicken. Oh well, it still is a good meal overall!
We are searching for a good ramen shop in Montreal and we have found this one. Not many items on the menu but the ramen dishes we order are very delicious. If you love spicy food, ordering TanTan ramen will satisfy you. Kyoza is very tasty. We all are happy eating ramen here. Service is good. Friendly and helpful. Sitting outside by the street is nice. We enjoy our dinner very much.
Very tasty ramen and the location is right in the heart of downtown Montreal. My family and I shared everything from the chicken wings, tonkatsu plus and black. The aromatics and broth were so rich. Even on a hot summer day this was absolutely delicious. I could taste the rich truffle oil in my tonkatsu plus. Portions are fair and can be shared. They offer different ramen add ons and drinks as well. The interior was very clean. They had wood accents all along the walls and very high ceilings. Food comes out quickly and you can fully customize your ramen. I saw plenty of people enjoy their ramen alone. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. If you want some authentic Japanese ramen this is the spot.
Quick service, very friendly and welcoming staff. Interior is a little tight, like all good classical ramen shops: deal with it! Food was flavorful and delicious. Prices were acceptable for the food type in such a busy part of town.
Very good ramen. Fast service and customers are greeted in French, which does not always go without saying in the City Center.
I got their karaage chicken and fried corn as an appetizer, and it was delicious. Their ramen was also really good. Their broth is lighter than an average ramen. Nevertheless, it warmed my soul. For more reviews on different mtl restaurants, visit @lifewithkarbs on instagram
Delicious and tasty Ramen, i recommend the dumpling starter, delicious, youll want to get 2, 5 prices to share is not enough! We got SHOYU & TONKOTSU, they were both good in their own way, i recommend the fat noodles over the thin ones, just a personal preference. The service was great, very kind and very fast, good tasting free cold water when you arrive, everything was very quickly prepared and served. Will definitely be back. Dont be turned off by the word black fungus these are just mild flavored delicious mushrooms.
Ramen soup was pretty good. Chilli paste made it even more tasty. and it was generous portion. I love that i could substitute veggies or mushroom to my preference one.
First experience in this restaurant whose facade does not look like much at first glance BUT The place is charming, the service is quality, with a waitress who exudes natural kindness The dishes there are simply delicious
This place is always good. Good quality ramen, great flavor, good service and a calm atmosphere perfect for chatting.
Ichiban ramen in Montreal
Best Ramen shop Ive been to. Good price and good food quality. It was served very quickly and broth was very flavorful, probably homemade and not instant powder. Waiters were nice and pork was tender.
Best ramen Montreal
Very good restaurant!
I absolutely love this ramenya it s my go-to spot because the quality is always fantastic. I m also a fan of their Ottawa location Highly recommend trying the black garlic tonkotsu it s amazing!
This is my first time here, but I had delicious Japanese ramen for the first time in a while. I m very satisfied. I m a miso ramen fan, while my wife prefers shoyu (soy sauce) ramen. Its my first time here, but I had a delicious Japanese ramen after a long time. I am very satisfied. I prefer the miso ramen, while my wife prefers the soy sauce (shoyu) one.
I came here because I was hungry while waiting for my childs recital, and it was -10 degrees outside, so I wanted to eat somewhere nearby. The tomato ramen has just the right amount of spiciness with a little sourness, and the hardness and temperature of the thin noodles are perfect. I thought about tipping at least 15% as usual, but when I finished my plate, I was asked if I wanted another order, and when I told them I didnt have any at the moment... After a minute, I placed the card payment terminal device on the table, and I was taken aback by the cold attitude of the person waiting next to me as if to tell me to pay quickly and go home.I lost my warm feeling after enjoying the delicious ramen, and I tipped a lot. reduced to. (When I looked at other Japanese comments, I understood why there were only 3 stars, even though they praised the taste) I was so uncomfortable that I wanted to leave without a tip, but the other Japanese waitresss service (in French) was absolutely spot-on, so I left a little for her. As a Japanese person living in Montreal, I am asked by all kinds of people, including colleagues, customers at work, and the parents of my childrens classmates, what Japanese restaurants and ramen shops they recommend, but because of her last act, I suddenly lost the desire to recommend it.
Very good Ramen , thank you so much :)
Too salty for my taste. I ve been here a few times with different people, they enjoyed it but I consistently find it too salty. I guess it really comes down to one s personal preference in terms of saltiness
Delicious Ramen!! And I mean, delicious
Its fine. Good food but bit pricy. Nothing special
The soup is cool
I have been once in person and another time ordered UberEats. The food was yummy and the service good in-person but the portions are a bit small and pricey. Still enjoy this place though!
Very very good, very quickly served, very good service. Nothing to say.
Delish Flavor, texture & presentation 10/10
pretentious asian food, not worth for what it is. Broth is heavy, greasy and oily
Really good noodles, decent selection, really friendly staff.
Delicious!
Sansotei Ramen on Sainte-Catherine is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic ramen! The location is ideal, right in the bustling downtown area, making it a perfect stop whether you re out shopping or meeting up with friends. The atmosphere inside is cozy and modern, setting the stage for a great dining experience. What really stood out was the exceptional service. The waiters were super friendly and attentive, making sure everything was just right and offering helpful suggestions. The ramen was absolutely delicious, with a rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. If you re looking for a top-notch ramen spot in the city, Sansotei Ramen won t disappoint!
Best ramen Ive had in Montreal. The broth was deeply flavorful and meat was tender and fatty
Came here for lunch yesterday. Best ramen in Montreal! The broth is delicious!
Lots of flavor, best Ramen..
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian ramen Dietary restrictions: Visible allergens
Heaven in my mouth !!!
Excellent ramen. Perfectly balanced.
Great place for lunch. Service was friendly and efficient. Like all great ramen places, just eat and get out when you are done. The only vegetarian option is the spicy mazemen (no soup). It has eggplant and pepperoncini, corn, and green onion, so the flavor is a little unusual to me but good. The seaweed salad was a little too soft and mushy for my liking. Get the barley tea for a refreshing cold drink!
Best ramen I ve ever ate
Some amazing ramen. Sadly no utensils in the bag. Not even chopsticks.
Ramen was delicious. I took black tonkotsu, and It was very good also took a side dish karaage and gyoza also on point.
Really tasty.
Rly tasty food, best service! Good music. Nice ambiente. You should eat here!
For a first experience, our soups were good and very hot, I recommend!!
tomato ramen miso black ramen Order. I ordered it extra hot and it was just the right amount of heat. I was asked if it was small or big, but it didnt seem to be the size of a ramen. Is it the thickness of the noodles? Both were delicious.
By far one of my favorite places to get ramen!
Ramens are incredible!
On a Sunday lunchtime, not too busy, we were lucky. The reception, the A1 service... And the ramen, wow they were excellent, tasty and a good portion.
Everything was perfect, I highly recommend
We went there to eat ramen without much conviction of the quality of the place and what a surprise! The restaurant doesnt look like much but the ramen is simply excellent. They are warm, very good, comforting, in short everything we ask of them. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the food. Small downside, in the ramen with the scallops, only 1 was present in the dish which is rather light. However, it remains a real surprise and a favorite. We highly recommend this restaurant.
The service was incredibly bad. This place is definitely a hit and miss
I tried their ramen for the first time at the ramen ramen fes 2024 opening. They had a kiosk and I got the classic tonkatsu. The broth was flavourful, the noodles perfectly cooked, the grilled pork was amazingly tender. Would absolutely go back again
Broth is rich and noodle is good not too salty I would return to this place
A real ramen, a delight ;) and great service
Ordered tonkotsu black ramen and tomato today - so yummy. If only they put marinated eggs..
Excellent wow great experience!
even though the food was good, the service I got was bad
Ramen taste is very good
Delicious Tonkotso noir ramen with a Ramune Vegetarian options: Theres vegetarian option Wheelchair accessibility: It has access to wheel chair
I had their vegetarian Mazemen. It was the only vegetarian meal they had. Food was delicious but wish they had more vegetarian options.
Very pleasant find while shopping on Ste-Catherine West Street. Warm welcome in French, divine broth, tender and succulent pork, in short, a ramen that we love so much. I have a feeling this will become one of my favorite addresses in downtown Montreal!
Delicious ramen! Excellent value for money, ultra-fast service despite the crowds. I tried the truffle ramen, a very nice experience
Great Ramen, bowl full with vegetables and ham. Great friendly service.
Arrived in Montreal on a cold day and decided ramen would be a good call. From all the good reviews Im shocked that I didnt enjoy my experience. 1) the bowl is small, 2) there wasnt enough broth for the amount of noodles and 3) the noodles tasted like regular al dente spaghetti noodles which was super disappointing and 4) the broth was not piping hot. Ive had better ramen. Service and people were nice though.
I you like ramen this is place where you have to go. Simple menu that will make everyone happy
Just threw out. Flies are all over the table. AND, it flew down to the foods and beverages. SO DISGUSTING. When I looked up, there was a huge spider net and A BIRD.
Oishi. i recommend coming here great ramen (:
This is the best ramen place in Montreal by far. I had the Tonkotsu Black Ramen and the broth was so flavourful and not too salty, unlike other ramen places. The service was really quick so not much waiting. If you want to try an authentic tasty ramen, this is the place to go.
Delicious and flavourful. Everything was good. Love the one with truffle oil and shiitakes
Good and affordable. Fast service!
The ramen was above average but the bone broth did not seem as rich as I am used to. The noodles were also a little undercooked for me. Otherwise an above average ramen location with outstanding wait staff.
Very good tasty ramen indeed.
So so good!! We ll definitely be coming back.
A Japanese-style ramen shop. While traveling, my companion really wanted to eat ramen, so we went there, but the taste was a little different from the ramen we eat in Japan. Therefore, it is not recommended for travelers from Japan to go there in search of a taste of Japan. The gyoza was delicious. It seemed to be loved by the locals as it was thriving.
I wanted a good, nourishing and hearty lunch. I then decide to try the Sansotei Ramen. I chose the pork miso ramen. Tasty ! The atmosphere is excellent with chic downtempo House Music. The courteous service is appreciated. In short, I will return soon.
Ramen was delicious, and serving was quick and pleasant. Waitress was nice and welcoming. I would like to hear some lounge or japanese music on background, although we really enjoyed this place. Highly recommended!
The best ramen Ive ever eaten. The broth was amazing, the meat melted in your mouth.
Basically, Canadian food is bland, and the ramen here is no exception. The first bowl of noodles was well-boiled, but the extra noodles were soggy.
Yummy, traditional ramen. Friendly staff. Nothing fancy but enjoyable. Reasonable prices.
Had the pork ramen and it was quite good
Pretty good ramen with good flavourful broths. Noodles cooked well.
Great lunch stop if you like ramen
I got tonkotsu ramen to go and it was wonderful! The flavor of the pork was so good. The staff helped me figure out what to order when I called to place the order. The inside looked cool. Price was fair.
Excellent everywhere.
Excellent service, excellent food especially in summer on the terrace
Very good food and the service was excellent
Amazing Ramen!!!!
Suuper yummy ramen, very filling and flavorful. I ve been to Sansotei ramen multiple times and jts always good, so quality is constant! I also recommend the steamed dumplings with scallions and ginger on top. The fried corn is not that good.
Almost as great as Sansotei Ottawa !
Excellent ramen in the central area. The only negative note was having to ask several times for a high chair for the child and the bathroom not being very nice.
Phenomenal food and service. Love the vegetarian option.
The service was very fast, the food was at a perfect temperature to eat immediately, great taste and proportion.
The restaurant and my cuisine are very good and the price reasonable. At the time, me and my fiancé had a great time and very good service except for the fact that the waitress forgot to write down my wifes order. As for the negative points... I dont know if this restaurant misused certain products or didnt wash their hands before handling our food but after this meal, my stomach and gastric health was hell. Me and my wife suffered from stomach aches, gas, and diarea. If one day you go to eat the ba, I strongly advise you to prepare your toilet for the next few days and alert your loved ones of the gases that you will emit, because this was not a joke. I dont know what it was, but me and my wife felt constant pressure in the abdomen with hellish pain and frequent toilet needs. The pain went away after a week.
Ramen tan tan super delicious I recommend
I really love this place. Authentic japanese ramen in Montreal!
Excellent ramen, we two different ones, and both were authentic and sumptuous.
One of the best ramens Ive eaten in my life! And the service was impeccable despite the crowds due to the Jazz Festival! I cant wait to go back!
Im being extra picky, but compared to Saint-Bruno the food was a tinny bit less cooked: the noodle were a tad more firm and the pork just less roasted (tonkotsu ramen). The service was top notch, very very fast. I went to eat outside (this july) and it was nice. Though I would love to pay before eating because it wasnt clear if I needed to go inside to pay or wait for the waiter to approach me to do it. At the end of the day I went inside to pay. Very nice! I ate well.
I enjoyed the vegetarian Ramen I got here. A couple of dishes on the menu including less expensive options were not available. Total bill was around $30 for the veggie Ramen and a Sapora with tip.
The food was amazing! Thank you for accommodating our large party of 7!
Parking: Stationement Crescent on Mayor Street, cheap and safe parking. Food
excellent
From the outside, the restaurant is not impressive. When we walked in, we realized how beautiful it is! Also, the menu, at first glance, is not attractive, but when the bowl of soup arrived, we felt, before tasting, the extraordinary aromas that invaded our nostrils and penetrated deep into our body. Upon tasting, it was truly incredibly good. I dont know what spices or sauces they use in the soup, but it was really delicious. Absolutely worth trying.
Tried their black garlic Tonkutsu ramen, it s so good so properly authentic.. the soup was tasty but still light, the thin noodle had really nice bite, and the egg was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended
Great food!
Very delicious bonet 0n feels in Japan
The food is amazing! The gyoza was delicious!
The staff was so cute and genuine, I loved the ramen soup with pork and the green sea weed apetizer. You like Noodles and want to see how it tastes in Japan? Sansotei wa oiishidesuyo. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian alternatives looked pretty but I didnt try them myself.
One of our best places for a good ramen in Ste Catherine
Excellent ramen, especially the black tonkatsu!
Das Essen war sehr lecker und der Service nett. Wie immer bei japanischen essen, wurde das Essen sehr schnell serviert. Vegetarian options: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, even in the restroom
Excellent service and very good food. First time I ate ramen. It was perfect
Well, finally, a ramen worthy of the name! Excellent broth, which is the basis of a good ramen. The meats were cooked to perfection, as were the soft-boiled eggs. The noodles, still a little crunchy to the bite. The two waitresses who took turns were friendly
Best ramen for so long. Highly recommend
Simple and delicious! Nothing negative to say
Superb spot to enjoy a good ramen in the Place des Arts district. Tonkotsu Black Ramen is simply delicious! The broth is rich in flavor and the char sir delicious.
Some of the best ramen weve ever had...the broths were full of flavor and great noodles with fresh ingredients, excellent service....the only downside is that seating is a little tight.
They have the best broth. So flavorful. The staffs are really helpful and friendly.
Good
solid place for ramen
The best ramen place in Montreal!
Very good ramen and excellent service!
This place is wonderful! Amazing ramen and great service. Highly recommend.
Although it is a bit unkempt and cluttered, the greeting of Irasshaimase when entering gives a strong feeling that this is a Japanese ramen restaurant. The taste of ramen is pretty good. If you go to a Japanese ramen restaurant in Montreal, youll find a lot of them are sweetened. However, this place is pretty faithful to the flavors of miso, shio, and shoyu, and has a very strong Japanese mainland ramen feel. The same goes for service. What is disappointing is that the atmosphere is busy and not relaxed, like an izakaya. Although I would put it more directly, the feeling of having to eat and leave quickly is very strong. Other than this, its a pretty good restaurant.
I visited the restaurant on June 20. The food was above expectations. The service/ambiance was extremely delicate, caring and smooth, I was very impressed !
Was served by a young man that gave me the best service in a restaurant I ever had. Well done.
Of all the ramen restaurants in Montreal, this is the most delicious. Not only is the ramen good, but the staff is also kind and some of them are Japanese, so I highly recommend it.
Probably the best ramen in town, Enjoy your food !
bad food its yucky
Very good cuisine at a good price - 5 standard soups with great taste. Very good sides and a good selection of drinks (authentic)
Delicious ramen! The tonkotsu + was delicious as well as the gyozas!
Very delicious Ramen!!
Always a great place to eat. Weve been coming here for the past couple years and it has never failed to disappoint. The black garlic oil they use in some of their ramens is a great addition.
Good place to take a brunch
The ramen is super delicious, not inferior to Asia at all. There are also Japanese staff inside. The service is very friendly, delicious and efficient. It is very happy to eat a bowl of hot ramen when it is very cold in Canada
I wanted a table behind the door because there was a draft coming in the front where we sat. Waitress said no would be busy. I understand, but I was there just when it opened. Its not like full house within the 45 min to hour that I sat and finish my noodles. The noodles were great. Service was great as well. Just would have loved to have something block the cold draft
I stopped by on a lunch break and was really impressed with this restaurant. The service was incredibly quick, which was perfect for a limited lunch hour. I ordered the Tonkotsu Black Ramen, and it was absolutely delicious!
Very fast service; the ramens are succulent and very well seasoned. Very courteous and kind service. Absolutely recommend
Best ramen in down town!
Fast and good
The best ramen Ive ever had highly recommended!
Love everything about this place. Highly recommend!
Sansotei never disappoints! We ordered the miso black and tonkotsu black and both were excellent (I personally preferred the tonkotsu but my husband liked the miso). The corn croquette was meh. The service was great, even when it got pretty busy. Would recommend!
Very good and simple restaurant. Best ramen soup in Montreal.
I would say that this Ramen-place is my favorite in whole Montreal: Im eating here regularly for 1 year, Tonkotsu Ramen is awesome, as well as staff members! Also, you are able to find a free table at any time!
Best ramen Ive had out.
Very good ramen, but too crowded, and slow service.
Had tonkotsu ramen both dining in and uber eats. Best ramen Ive had in a year. The broth is flavorful and the quantity is perfect!!
It was fresh and excellent.
Unfriendly waiters
Good restaurant for a quick meal! The ramen and the delicious broth... The only thing is the quantity of broth is small enough for a takeaway meal! The service is super fast and super courteous! SPECIAL MENTION: the staff makes an effort to speak French and it is SUPER APPRECIATE!!! :)
Best ramen in the town.
Very good fast ramen restaurant. ~$20 for a black miso bowl.
Very fragrant soups, quick service upon entry, simple but complete menu. I really like this place!
Good service The ramen was really good I will come back again Food : 5/5
Certainly one of the best ramen restaurants in Montreal the very understanding staff was able to adapt a dish because I am vegetarian. It was delicious and we know how it is prepared because we can see the kitchen from the room, to (re)make!! Vegetarian options: Only 1 dish on the menu but possibility of asking to revisit an à la carte dish, very friendly staff
The employees we encountered were all smiling and courteous. Our waitress was too, however she was not able to answer us 100% in French, which meant that she had difficulty advising us adequately. The soup I ate (Shoyu) didnt please me, the broth had an aftertaste that I didnt like. My partner gave 3.5/5 to the soup he ate (Black Miso). The lower part is pretty, but we were installed in the upper part, where it was very cramped. They separated tables to make a 3rd row in the middle, so we ate practically glued to another couple. I didnt understand the prices for alcohol, we saw 300ml drinks for $40, so we didnt take anything.
Very tasty!
Been in mtl for almost 7 yrs. Ive had my go-to ramen place but has been close for months already. Tried to find another ramen place thats close to my workplace and house, and I am so happy to share that this ramen place is a MUST TRY!!! OMG the tonkotsu black ramen was divine! The chatsu is so flavorful, the soup is undeniably sumptuous. Also, very affordable! 21 cad for a ramen with a glass of Sapporo!!! Perfect combo!!!! Vegetarian options: Veggie Gyuza, mushroom ramen
Little crowed but food is really good and such friendly service there !! Always refilling our water and ask if everything doing okay!! Will come back again whenever Im in the area, really enjoy their ramen there ! I tried their tonkotsu and the black miso ramens to eat for lunch
Delicious! With accompaniments the experience is much better.
This is a great place for ramen in Montreal. Fresh and fast food. Ill definitely come back.
Excellent service and ramen. I highly recommend
Very tasty, I wish there were more mushrooms on it and less pork chops.
One of the best places where I can eat ramen. I love this place
Great broth but the guy said the thick noodles were the rice ones but then we all ended up getting egg noodles. Good thing no one was allergic.
Good food, noodles could be thicker but other than that amazing!
First time eating Ramen! Broth so good! Tasty soup!
Excellent Ramen spot. Great for lunch or dinner with a decent menu and great service. Can get pretty jammed at lunch, but thats always a great sign of a great place.
Some of the best ramen Ive ever had
Very good, the employees are great, excellent service, I cant wait to come back
Amazing ramen
Rich broth, generous slices of pork, a step up for Montreals long suffering ramen scene. All menu items are well considered and carefully prepared. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are on the higher side for Montreal, but in a high rent location that can be overlooked. Extra appetizers felt unnecessary considering the portion sizes. Next time Ill try the tomatoe ramen. Atmosphere was a little crowded, loud and cluttered for my tastes.
Good bowl of ramen. Nothing crazy, but hits the spot on a cold day
highly recommend tonkotsu black!
