Best brunch place downtown, and for many reasons! Located in the heart of downtown with a beautiful spot in PVM, it is way bigger than their other location, and always the option of sitting in the cathcart. Amazing food, the pancakes, salmon and breakfast sandwich are definitely the best plate on the menue. I also recommend trying their coffee menue, their vanilla latte are delicious !finally, the staff is very helpful and can easily make you navigate through their high quality menue.
Came for brunch and would definitely recommend. Tried the shakshuka and the raspberry french toast with a side of pickles and grilled salami. For drinks we got the lemonade and green tea. Lemonade was refreshing. The shakshuka was my favourite, so savoury and delicious! Would definitely recommend the shakshuka. The raspberry French toast was great, the mascarpone white chocolate topping was unique. This location takes reservations which is nice. Staff were friendly and service was good. The open kitchen is cool, you can watch the staff prepare the dishes.
Nothing more to say than they have the best pancakes I've ever tried! The Syrniki (cottage cheese) pancakes are amazing, and the syrup makes them even better. Personally, I think the service was quite average and a bit slow, but the food is well worth it.
The food was good but better at the main location in St Henri. The service was awful - not only slow but the orders came mixed up. Slowness is not ideal at lunch time when your main clientele is office workers on lunch. My friend asked for an iced coffee with oat milk and got it black, I ordered a coffee that I never got (and realized only as I was leaving that I was charged the $4 for a filtered coffee I never received…). No one came to check on us after our food came. The food was good and standard for Arthur’s. Irritated about spending a combined $10+ on coffee and both orders being wrong/no shows. I wouldn’t come back here. Visit the OG location for the proper experience. $67 for two lunches (breakfast sandwich and smorgasbord), two coffees and a $10 side of latkes (2, which were each about the circumference of a tangerine) feels a bit excessive when service is terrible.
Best pancakes in Montreal. Just as good as the original location with shorter wait times and located centrally downtown. Still encompasses similar atmosphere and vibes of the original location but in a much more modern way. Order the Syrniki original and strawberries, and I prefer the original. I think the strawberry is a bit over powering. Pancakes with the syrup are the perfect balance of salty and sweet. Service was very average and not great. However, the food is well worth it.
I have been to both locations and though I do think the original location has better quality food, the location and PVM is convenient for those who work downtown. I do caution however it is very hard to find if you've never been to the new food court at PVM. I like that this location allows you to make reservations, however if you do not show up there potentially could be a fee charged to you since you need a credit card to hold your reservation. Despite the location, this restaurant was very baby and kid friendly and the hostess sat is in an area where we were able to easily store our double stroller, which was much appreciated. The service was also a big slow but we came during lunch rush so it was understandable. The latke smorgasbord is a must for your first visit as well as the cottage cheese pancakes. My sons who are 2 and 4 are everything!
Pancakes. Wow. We were vsiting from Ottawa, and this place was recommended by friends. Apparently, this is the only location that takes reservations. The other location always has a long line-up (I would like up for the pancakes!). My sister had their shakshuka, and she said it was the best she ever tasted. The atmosphere had a great vibe. Our waitress was friendly, and very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend for brunch!
Get. The. Pancakes. They’re so good. The texture is very unique, but they’re awesome. The McArthur schnitzel sandwich and shmorgishborg were also amazing. The pancakes are filling, and sharing between 2-4 people is a nice ‘dessert’. The service was actually top-notch. It’s in Cathcart (like an upscale food court), but it has its own section. It’s kind of loud, but not too bad. For 1 main and 1/4 pancakes it was $27 before tip. You can make reservations at this Arthur’s which you can’t at the other.
We had a superb experience at Arthurs, located in the beautiful Cathcart space at Place Ville Marie. We enjoyed the Latke Smorgasbord, a dish generously topped with gravlax salmon on a base of crispy latkes, accompanied by caviar, a perfectly cooked poached egg, and a fresh Israeli salad bursting with flavor. Every bite was a true gastronomic pleasure! A little tip for mint tea: remember to remove the bag after a few minutes to prevent it from becoming too bitter. The atmosphere was really pleasant, with a DJ on site to entertain this Sunday afternoon. The setting is urban and sophisticated, with a modern and bright design. The space is embellished by an impressive view thanks to the glass roof, which bathes the restaurant in beautiful natural light and offers a clear view of the surrounding area. Arthurs at Cathcart is definitely a place where fine dining and chic ambiance meet. An address that I highly recommend for a brunch or a unique meal in Montreal! Vegetarian options: enjoy a varied and tasty meal without meat Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, with a spacious environment that makes it easier to welcome families.

Its inside the underground food court so as someone that isnt local it took me a minute to find it but when I did I was greeted and seated promptly. Its not as homey of a vibe as the original location so were losing points there and it took a while for the waiter to come around again once I was ready to pay. BUT the food omg its so good!! and in my opinion reasonably priced. The Challah role killed me it was so good then the eggs brought me back to life they were incredible. All in a good spot.
best food i ve had in a long long time or ever even in a restaurant. every bite felt like heaven i never leave reviews but this was just exceptional. felt like eating in a 5 stars restaurant honestly. even the latte was amazing, creamy and perfect. i totally recommend if u want to eat amazing quality food, unique and just creative while being totally affordable. Arthur the waiter was very kind and welcoming, the staff is friendly something we don t see anymore everywhere. so props to him, the others and the chefs
I visited Arthur s Nosh Bar on Cathcart in downtown today around 10:50 AM on a Saturday. The woman with big eyes at the front was rude and cold when she greeted us. When we said we were a party of two, she told us to sit at the bar. When we said we didn t want to sit at the bar, she simply said there were no other seats. But the restaurant was almost empty, with plenty of open tables. Feeling uncomfortable, I asked how long the wait would be, and she just dodged the question. It felt like blatant discrimination. What kind of restaurant treats people this way? I was so upset and will never come back here. I don t even want to give Arthur s Nosh Bar a star. But since I have to give at least one star to write a review, I am reluctantly giving it one star. This restaurant is absolutely undeserving of any rating. I had a similarly unpleasant experience at the Arthur s Nosh Bar on 4621 Notre-Dame St. It seems like every location of Arthur s Nosh Bar is unfriendly and discriminatory! This place is just bad all around. Fire that woman with big eyes at the front! What a disgraceful restaurant! Why do people even give this place any stars? It s a horrible restaurant!
The brunch is a bit different from the other branch. But it tastes amazing

We ordered a Latke smograsbord, I like the scrambled egg of it, which is creamy, but the bread was too hard. The other one we order was pancake with buleberry, the pancake was normal and the sauce was too sweet for me. envirnment was good, you can choose a place under the transparent roof and enjoy the sunlight.

Arthurs Nosh Bar lives up to its reputation with fantastic food and service. The high-end food court concept is executed brilliantly, making it a great choice for a satisfying meal. Heres a fun twist: the avocado toast seems to have a language preference and costs a dollar less when ordered from the French menu. lol. Our server chuckled and assured us its just a glitch theyre working on fixing. It was delicious. 5 all around!
An acquaintance made a reservation for 6 people on saturday june 22nd. Two of us went through smoothly but a female staff hastily blocked 4 of us from entering screaming you need a reservation. After correcting her, she never apologized and just stayed behind the counter. After we sat down, no one served us for at least 20 minutes. No water, no menu nor greeting was given. A young girl finally came to serve us. I believed she just got back from break but there was like 8 people behind the counter. The restaurant was practically empty. Besides my table, there was another table being served. Food took awhile before it got served. The food was mediocre. Eggs were runny. The waitress who served us, tried her best. The rest of the staff made the experience distasteful. The group and i did not enjoy our time at the restaurant. Its very unfortunate that the staff made the restaurant to lose new patrons. The manager was either hiding /ditched the resto or unlikable because it made no sense for the staff to be only serving one table and standing behind the counter for the whole time twiddling thier thumbs.

This Arthur s allows for reservations, and that makes it my favourite location! Love the chicken schnitzel sandwich (buttery-fried challah bread, perfectly done schnitzel, pickle, etc). Options for all! And if you have a sweet tooth, get the cookie.
The food is good here. The menu changes a little bit from time to time and unfortunately it s not flexible at all. We wanted the eggs & salami to be as a sandwich, but they refused to fix it the way we wanted. The pancakes weren t as crispy as they should be. The coffee is tasteless, but it s the only coffee they have.

I think the pancakes are just as amazing as the og location, and this spot is very convenient since they can have more guests and it s not insanely crowded. Though the atmosphere of the og can t be beat in homeliness, cathcart is a nice space and great service My absolute favorite pancakes in the city, i get syrup on the side however since it can be a little artificial tasting imo and I like to control the proportions. I recommend the latke always as well

Love the pancake
Went for a light lunch after walking the Vieux Carré. Shared a Thai-like green papaya salad with local of other ingredients and scrambled eggs, latke, challah and cucumber salad, all tasty and well prepared. This is a sit down restaurant amid a food court.
Excellent service! Food that met our expectations, and a very pleasant setting. I recommend coming back several times to taste all the dishes. We had a great Saturday morning!

I come to Arthur s at cathcart every Friday after school. I went with my friend today and we ordered the same thing we get every time - salami sandwich, tuna melt, and syrniki. The salami sandwich and tuna melt were both awful. Salami sandwich had too much mustard, and barely any coleslaw. Tuna melt was still cold, bread was no good, and the tuna was dry- it was not mixed with the sauce!!!! The syrniki were still delicious, but there was barely any maple syrup as if Arthur s started cutting costs . If this had been my first time at this location, I would have never returned. Disappointing to say the least.
Unreal, food is great, atmosphere is great, service is great. If you re debating just do it. Get the home run.

Pretty overrated in my opinion. Kitchen service is slow, even early when it s not full. The pancakes are indeed good but ruined, in my opinion, by being drowned in a deep pool of questionable table syrup (certainly not maple) that make them too soggy and too cloyingly sweet.
Horrible impolite servers who ignore customers, they will cancel reservations for bigger groups. They were discriminatory and rude, just read Phil Turgeon s review to see the staff s attitude; even when I tried to reply in French or English, the server would respond with quoi? I can t help. They know their problem but don t change because they re popular enough. There s other better restaurants in the area as well.

Food might look great but it s tourist business and reception cancels reservation after waiting 30min, without giving reasonable explanation nor apology. Reception discriminates by confronting in French even though she seemed nice earlier when asking to put our info on lineup. Very overrated please DO NOT spend here!!
This place is a must-try! Totally worth the drive. The pancakes boast an extraordinary flavour , unlike anything Ive experienced before. Still drooling just thinking about them. Cant wait for my next visit!

My family and I had a lovely time dining at this refreshing new secondary location on Saturday December 23rd. We tried a variety of dishes and were not disappointed. The only minor issue was that our orders were not all ready at the same time. We would all go back and would recommend this restaurant.
Delicious!!! Really really yummy! A bit of a chaotic service with cutlery being dropped and waiters bumping into each other and the room was quite loud, but you can definitely expect good food.
I ordered a cappuccino and the syrniki crepes (pancakes). I found them really too sweet and the presentation relatively simple, but the people at the table who had the scrambled eggs were very satisfied with their meal. The French toast was relatively good. I think I would try another dish!

The dishes were delicious and plentiful, so in terms of price-quality, its completely worth it. I opted for the French toast, while my girlfriend chose the McArthur, and we both relished our meals, even getting portions to go due to the generous quantities. Regarding the service, nothing to complain about: it was fast and all the employees were friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the location is really well chosen.
Best pancakes in town
The best spot to go to for the best pancakes in town, by far. They also do a great scrambled egg. This location is better than the original one in St Henri which always has a 2 hr line. This one you can book in advance or show up with little to no wait.

I made a reservation by phone yesterday and spoke to a lovely lady to whom I gave detailed information regarding our resevation. When we arrived they did not have our reservation. Grateful that they gave us a seat but embarased that they didnt have our registration.

So good. The Latke Smorgasbord is heavenly. Great atmosphere and kind staff make the overall experience a memorable one. Only thing is I wish that this location was open on the weekend, we tried to go back the next day because we loved it and its only open during the week. Hopefully in the future theres enough interest to keep it open all week.

Very good. This is the second restaurant that they opened in Cathcart. Everything is on standard. The cocktails and food are very delicious. The decorations of the restaurant is really nice. I had the housed gravlax and Im highly recommended. Its super delicious with the toast bread. And I wouldnt forget to mention the famous pancakes. It was as good as the first restaurant. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a nice brunch place with good cocktails. And they also take reservation. But the restaurant is quite big compare to the first restaurant. So I wouldnt be worry if you dont have a reservation.

Nice restaurant with good surroundings and friendly service, but for someone who likes sandwiches and the like for lunch. There are no really warm dishes.
Possibility of booking in advance, although it is right in the middle of the Cathcart it is not that noisy we get along well. The service is fast, the seat comfortable, I dont remember that the waiters were super happy, but: its SO good, I still think about this dish from time to time and I want to eat it again. Well, thats bad because I dont live in Montreal but in France in Toulouse (by the way, if anyone has an address to recommend to me for the same type of cuisine, Ill take it). See you soon on my next trip
Got the McArthur chicken sandwich which they sell 21$, the chicken was raw, they made another one and it was oily and dry. Not a good experience.

Very cute atmosphere and great food and drinks. I normally only ever have one Caesar drink to avoid heartburn, but here I had two because they were so delicious. A little pricey for a food court restaurant, but thats because we received different sandwiches than we ordered ($13 vs $21). We didnt say anything because we were hungry and didnt really notice until halfway though. Overall very good.

I haven t been to the original but this location was phenomenal. Was a bit confusing to get to via google maps but it s in the basement whether you walk down the stairs or take the elevator. I eventually found it and glad I did. I wanted to go to the original spot but this was closer to where I was staying and I was short on time. I thought they did a nice job of creating their own vibe/decor even though they re in a mall/food court of sorts but a really nice one! The food was fantastic. Fresh squeezed grapefruit juice was delicious. The waiter shared all the hits with me for recs and I tried them all! The pancakes are amazing. I don t get pancakes often but I would go out of my way for these pancakes. Made more delicious by the in season strawberries. The McArthur sandwich was really good. Chicken perfectly cooked and crispy. The slaw on it was the perfect bite of freshness, etc to cut the richness. The bread was fantastic. Giant sandwich though, easily could be shared. The gravlax also excellent. Highly recommend. I don t think you could go wrong with any choice on the menu. I ve also heard the sprinkle cookie is a must next time.

They gave us a reservation for 2:30 pm, we got there, the waiter tells us that they re sold out of every popular dish on the menu and then makes the passive aggressive comment that s what happens when you come for breakfast at 2:30 ???? YOU gave us a reservation for 2:30 and offered your service at that time. The girl at the door wasn t also well mannered. Do yourself a favour and skip this place.
I recently went to Arthur s with a large group of girls while on a Bachelorette Party. We had an incredible server named Zak who went above and beyond in accommodating us. The food options worked well for all of our preferences, including vegetation, gluten free and those with no restrictions. Would recommend!
Awesome food if you are looking for Jewish breakfast
I went here for lunch on a Thursday at 11:45am with a friend of mine. We didn t make a reservation, so we had to sit at the bar. I got the chicken sandwich which was very tasty and very big! I only ate half of it and took the other half back in a bag. My friend and I also split the cottage cheese pancakes which were delicious!! It cost me about $30 in total which is a bit steep for just a lunch, but it was certainly a very enjoyable experience!

Ive had a longing for their pancakes for the longest period, and theres consistently a queue at their original spot. Im relieved that this new location allows reservations! The pancakes remain amazing. I tried a bite of my friends sausage, which was delicious due to its balanced seasoning not overly salty, but still flavorful. Im certainly planning to return and explore their sandwich offerings.
Me who wanted to visit this restaurant for a long time, and who was never able to go to the one in St-Henri because of too much waiting, well, I was a little left with my appetite. It was good nothing more. Nothing extraordinary as was described to me. Filter coffee like at the local restaurant, quite disappointing. Maybe it s better in St-Henri? In any case, the table next to the waiters entrance door to the kitchen, very very unpleasant with the swing door constantly moving towards us...to remove this table really. This is my 3rd time at this location and I already can t wait to go back. Their pancakes are genuinely the best I ve ever had and their food is so simple but so well-seasoned and of really great quality. I just have a couple complaints after my last visit 1- Paying $6 to add strawberries to pancakes is nonsensical. I mean come on 2- I ve noticed that the Israeli salad is always either missing an element or not super fresh. This time the onions were chopped into big pieces making it inedible and the cucumber felt mushy.
One of the best pancakes Ive ever had. Staff is super cool and friendly, they even gave us some recommendations for places to go in Montreal. Then they recognized us and said hi to us the next day when we went by there! Also, try the Bellini, I thought it was tasty.

Very poor management of waiting, tables and the waitlist. We are told that the wait will be around 30 minutes, and we are placed on the waiting list, like many others. So far, no problem. After an hour, still no news, so we go back to see the host to check that he hasnt forgotten us. He tells us that there will be another hour of waiting, but we see people having registered at the same time or after us on the list already seated with their dishes. When we talk to him about it, question why, he adopts an attitude and he discredits what is said to him, without taking any responsibility or apologizing. Clearly, there is work to be done on the organizational and service side. First and last experience at the Cathcart branch.

The best pancakes Ive ever eaten! Good quality of ingredients, good place much better than the other branch. I recommend making a reservation since otherwise you have to wait up to 2 hours. The treatment of the staff is good.
Best brunch in the city!
Great service, clean and modern venue, food was ok. Banana pancakes were not cooked throughout, smorgasbord was not what I expected. Sprinkle cookie and housemade lemonade were good.

I visited on October 9th(Canadian thanksgiving) we had a reservation for 3. The service was A1. Cathcart is so beautiful. It s given all the aesthetic vibes. The food was so good. We ordered the salmon tower, salami sandwich McArthurs sandwich (fried chicken) and the pancakes. The made a few mistakes (order receipts(but each time they rectified it so I consider the have amazing customer service. I love the open kitchen vibe.
Love this place. We drove in from Ottawa today just for the food. As soon as we heard they were taking reservations on Saturdays we made sure to book. Please keep this option!
Arthur s never fails to disappoint, consistently offering great quality, unique food. Despite being in a food court, Arthur s has its own distinct area and offers table service, so it s more of a real restaurant feel. My favorites here include the pancakes (not a pancake person in general but these are to die for), the gravlax sandwich, the latkes, and the babka. Many of the dishes are shareable, so usually when I come here we order dishes for the table in order to try as many things as possible. I also enjoy the chicken sandwich, but it s an enormous, messy sandwich so it s best to share or order that as your only dish. A definite must for anyone looking for Ashkenazi Jewish-inspired food, just like you grew up with.
