Fun spot to go eat and hang in the afternoon or evening when hungry. Price is median, good for what is served. However salads should come in two sizes as my mother's plate was way too huge for her to finish. Dessert was alright but the brioche wasn't warm and was a bit dry. Overall though very yummy, very wonderful service, and a good selection for bar and grill type of cuisine.
This was my 1st time visiting Montreal. Fred immediately came over and made me feel extremely welcomed! Food was fantastic, Santa Fe Chicken, ribs & potato soup were all amazing. Connor made wonderful drinks and my server Phil was super awesome 🤩 Thank you for a beautiful experience!
I had an incredible dining experience at Bâton Rouge! The food was absolutely delicious cooked to perfection with amazing flavors that really stood out. From the appetizers to the main course, everything was presented beautifully and tasted just as great.
I recently tried the Big Devil Burger with fries at Baton Rouge Grillhouse in Montreal. The burger was a classic American diner experience—juicy, flavorful, and well-prepared. The fries were crisp and paired well with the meal. The restaurant is spacious, with plenty of seating, but it’s clear that time has taken its toll. The décor and furniture show signs of wear, giving the place a dated feel. While the food is enjoyable, the ambiance could use a refresh to match the quality of the dishes.
Excellent BBQ ribs! Nice clean with a good bar. The waiter and bartender were great. The atmosphere is great too. I saw a lot of people eating the ribs, so they must be a favorite.
Great food, excellent service. Atmosphere is good. However, a couple flies made it in--which were annoying. Not their fault. Highly recommend for some good food, with reliable quality.
Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar offers a fantastic dining experience with its hearty menu and welcoming ambiance. Known for its perfectly grilled steaks and succulent ribs, this restaurant is a haven for meat lovers. The quality of the dishes is consistently excellent, with generous portions and rich flavors that leave a lasting impression. The stylish and comfortable setting, combined with attentive and friendly service, makes it an ideal spot for both casual outings and special occasions. Whether you're indulging in their signature dishes or enjoying a drink at the bar, Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar delivers a memorable dining experience every time.
First I ordered the French Onion soup which I love. This one tasted horrible. Onions should have been the prominent flavor. This was over powered in beer. I couldn't taste the onions. And the bread...well that was barely there. The cheese was cheap on amount. It was just a horrible soup. Then we tried the calamari. I found it undercooked with the breeding soft. And the dipping sauce was plain Dijon mustard. Disappointed. I ordered the New York Steak. Med rear. It was a little over done. I didn't quite like the Seasoning on it. I had to ask for a side of Pepper corn sauce. The vegetables where p Bland and not seasoned just steamed vegetables. My friend had the chicken and ribs. I could tell just looking at it... it was dry. Both the ribs and chicken. His fries where good cause I accidently was ordered by my friend the double stuffed baked potato. My version is much better when the cheese is actually melted and you can find the sour cream in it. Covered in bacon. So no it's definitely not worth 175$ which it came out to with the tip. Service was slow. Arrived at 6 am and needed to leave by 715 for the play across the street.
Great welcome, superb atmosphere, top waitress. Good, very hearty meal.
Very warm welcome, lovely staff, good and plentiful food
Excellent service. Excellent salad with flank steak
A1 service and food
Excellent service from the server, but a lot of problems with the orders.
Efficient and fast service during lunchtime. Copious plates.
Wow! What a mediocre experience! I had a Christmas party with my work colleagues and everything was unbearable: the wait was 2 hours just to be served and we didnt even receive all our dishes at the same time. One of my colleagues was served a raw pasta dish ten minutes before we left. Really ordinary... It could have stopped there, but me and my colleagues didnt even have the chance to have a menu in French on the pretext that they didnt have any more according to the waiter. Its simply illegal in Quebec! Not even able to be served in the official language of our province, a real farce!
The food is not very tasty. Chicken was tough like jerky, when I told manager he said well we don t want to under cook it. Sure raw chicken no good but once it s over cooked it s dry and tasteless. What a joke. So Management does not understand how overcooked chicken is a joke. Not going back was an overpriced joke.
Very good service with Mr. Vatche
I have been to many Baton Rouge locations, but this one is different. Food is bellow par at this particular location. Burger that I ordered was raw and than they brought burger, that was bellow McDonalds burger level, to replace raw one. Complete joke. Waiter that was serving me, was high on drugs. Very disappointing experience. You could find better quality food at McDonalds next door. Avoid this Baton Rouge location at all cost.
Reservation canceled without warning for a group of 56 people arriving from outside Montreal. We had confirmed 10 minutes earlier that we were delayed due to traffic. Disrespectful and inhumane service from the restaurant management. 56 healthcare workers forced to find a solution at the last second in the heart of downtown Montreal with a bus leaving on top of that. . He also dares to call security to take us out of the restaurant because we are trying to find a solution. We have made restaurant reservations for groups hundreds of times. I have never been received with such little respect.
Very poor service, disrespectful manager. I dont recommend at all!!
Its very good but way too expensive!
Was very busy! But the service was attentive and fast ! The food was great, will definitely come back
Waited 1 hour for food order to arrive. Was part of group, and my colleagues got their food 10 minutes before. They missed my appetizer part of the order, and for my main, they included two types of potatoes (mashed and fries) on the same plate. When I finally received my plate, my food was cold. At the end, the manager should up and made our group clap and commend our server and service as if it was a pre-emptive attempt to avoid receiving a low gratuity.
The manager canceled the reservation without notice.
The most disappointing experience I have ever had in a restaurant. And yet, Im not picky! Today we had a reservation at Baton Rouge for a special night out with friends. Unfortunately, a small delay of 5 minutes (yes, 5 MINUTES!) was enough for our reservation to be canceled without care or appeal to humanity. Its as if the clocks in Baton Rouge operate in a parallel time zone where each minute counts triple. Arriving at the door, confident and with a smile on our lips, we were greeted with a coldness worthy of the Quebec winter. The kind of coldness that makes you regret taking a hot shower for the occasion. We were informed that our table had been given to other more punctual customers (their words, not mine). However, the room seemed far from packed unless the ghosts were now occupying tables. We were not given any solution. No compassion. Not a sorry , not a glass of water to digest the humiliation. Even a robot would have been warmer. Ive seen friendlier lines at Walmart on a Saturday morning. A restaurant that prides itself on its customer service should learn to adapt to the unexpected. Who can predict the traffic, the endless red lights or the cars traveling at 20 km/h to admire the landscape? Baton Rouge doesnt seem to know that life is sometimes unpredictable. In the end, our beautiful evening ended elsewhere (thanks to their competitor who welcomed us without reservation and with a smile). One thing is certain: Baton Rouge will never get another cent from me. If your priority is to treat your customers like numbers rather than humans, keep it up. But dont be surprised when the restaurant finds itself empty one day. I would still rather eat a burnt Kraft Dinner at home than go through this charade again. In short, some advice: if you are late, even by a hairs breadth, do not count on their understanding. You would be better received in a butchers shop at rush hour
A very bad experience with the Baton Rouge restaurant! We were a group of 56 people with a confirmed reservation. Because of being 5 minutes late, they canceled our reservation without any notice or consideration. It s frankly disappointing!
I was really disappointed with my experience the manager is really not welcoming I saw her put a group of 56 people who booked for only 15 minutes late
Worst manager ever we were a group of 56 with a reservation. We spoke to the manager at 5:01 telling him we were arriving, at 5:08 he had given away our table. The worst, he was very aggressive and closed off, he even called security for a group of very respectful healthcare workers. Never again the red stick.
A Saturday, December 14 with a bus of 56 people and a reservation at 5 p.m.... after calling about our delay.. arriving 10 minutes later... the manager did not want to receive us and he even asked an employee to call security...10 agents came to take us out of the restaurant...Good luck to the employee who has to be respected by an old, unclassy manager...
Very nice atmosphere, courteous service and very good food! Vegetarian options: Breaded cauliflower salad with General Tao was excellent!
A big thank you to the entire team of Mr. Fred (establishment manager) excellent food, fast, efficient and professional service. In short, a must-see before a show at Place des Arts. Dont worry, you wont be disappointed.
NOTICE TO INTERESTED PARTIES Long story to warn you!! 1- when we arrived this Saturday, December 7 with 1 reservation for 2 for 5:15 p.m., we were there for 4:35 p.m. the hostess ADVISED us that we only had 2 hours to eat because there were a lot of people!!. 2- as soon as we sit down, a waitress arrives, we order their pretzel with a drink and a beer, 5 minutes later nothing arrives and its okay, but the waitress comes back and asks if we want to order when nothing has arrived ... she is stressed to kick us out.. 5 minutes later the pretzel arrives with the drinks, what was my surprise to see a pretzel without salt while their photo clearly shows the salt, I remarked to her... no comments or results! 3- we order a bottle of wine, we eat everything, we finish and we order the main meal, salmon for my partner and fried filet for me, thats when we see 2 young men returning to the table at 3 minutes to ask people if they have finished... they want their plates... people are attacked. About 10-15 minutes later and its OK we receive our plates... cooking requested for the steak = medium, its rare or not cooked, but my partner receives her plate the rice is completely cold the vegetables on my plate are totally cold and during our tasting, we were attacked 3 times to find out if we had finished... WE ARE USERS OF BATON ROUGE WE ARE 65 YEARS OLD we were very disappointed to experience. IT SEEMS like this owner wants to turn his restaurant into a fast food restaurant, its very sad and it will be the last time in Baton Rouge... Plus see urinal cleanliness in the photo... as they say, the 2 feet in... . super appetizing. NOTICE TO INTERESTED PARTIES
Excellent Thanks to Gael for his impeccable service
Everything was very average and nothing special
We usually buy our Baton Rouge raised sides at the grocery store and eat them at home. We never eat them at a restaurant. Yesterday we went to the restaurant and we were disappointed. The raised sides werent as tasty as the ones we make at home. My partner had the seafood linguini plate composed of shrimp and scallops. The shrimp was delicious but the scallops were tough. We will not return to this place.
1: I arrive for my reservation and am told that I only have tables for 2 hours? Should have told me when I made my reservation 2: fried squid for $20, are there 6 on the plate? ITS a joke? 3: chicken fillet arrives cold, no spices on the fries common guys it s your trademark 4: cappuccino 0 flat foam that tastes like dish soap I seriously should get reimbursed for this.
Cold food, wine glasses were missing so we were suggested to drink the wine in a water glass!!!
Thank you, Frederico, for the best espresso in Canada. Cheers from Portugal
The restaurant is very well located and allows you to enjoy the festivities at Place des Arts. I ordered a dish which was very good but really expensive for what it was. The person who accompanied me was not as lucky and had an undercooked vegetable. We said it and they came back with an equally poorly cooked vegetable! However, we ordered the same plate. Also, the service was super long, I really feel like we were forgotten, we even had to ask for water because we werent served at all. I dont recommend.
Not much choice on the menu and average service.
Good food, friendly staff.
We love your food. Service is horrid. Server never came over, had attitude the whole time. Tipped 5%. He was so angry he threw us the receipt and demanded more? Then told all the other workers so they d pass by and stare us down. Never again. Couldn t believe it..
UPDATE ***** Mrs. Tania Rebuli got in touch with me and offered me a nice amount in gift certificate. I really appreciate it and Im more than happy with the turnaround. Excellent customer service. More than disappointed with our experience. We made a reservation at the restaurant on Saturday October 26 for dinner without knowing that it had a limited menu since it has shows at Place des Arts. It was so noisy to forget that a romantic dinner together. The least you can do is warn your customers. I had to take the leavened side since there was nothing else that tempted me on the limited menu. No way to have a half portion, they just offer the full rack. We had to forget the ribs during cooking because the bottom of my ribs was burnt.
Wheelchair accessibility: Bonne Recommended dishes
We went there in the summer of 2024 because we had a show at the Place des Arts. There were obviously plenty of restaurant choices but we said to ourselves that we were going to focus on a family restaurant standard that we already know. BIG MISTAKE! The burgers consisted of bread and meat... He had no more salad and no more tomatoes. The steaks were tiny and cold and the vegetable sides way overcooked. In short... We paid 300$ for 2 adults and three children and we ate very badly. Total lack of respect for customers. Avoid!
Dont go there if you dont want to feel robbed. 31$ for a mini bavette and fries with no accompaniment, its shameful to charge this much for such a poor meal.
Thanks to our waitress Fanny for her service, appearance and approach. Although we are served by several servers, which makes the event impersonal in my opinion, the price, quality and size of the portions in general and the lobster tails ($25) of this restaurant (La ChaînedeRestaurant, located in a important location in an international city and popular worldwide by several tourists, Fanny made the experience pleasant despite everything. Value for money for the food, as in several Baton Rouge Restaurants that I have been to to date = 5 out of 10.
Phew really long before we have a cocktail. Pleasant server, but not supported by the rest of the staff. My filet mignon was like a boot sole even though I had asked for medium (rosé) the second one was too rare. This is the second Baton Rouge I ve been to in a month and it s the last. Expensive fast food!
I travel a lot and go to restaurants a lot and this time i come up with my friend and my fiance, I fiest time come up to Canada and I never had this bad service ever in my life. At the table I lost my ring and we all was looking for it and the service man was knowing where it is it jsut didnt wanted to say it so he was being rude and said if I dont pay the 70% of the service then I be have to come back next day. Knowing that I have to leave the city on that day. But ok man and men in the was rude and makeing fun out of us specaly the younger men who was stering and laughing at us and makeing comments.
Not too bad, but given the rating, we expect a little better all the same.
Ordered the 7oz bavette and they gave me a 4oz skirt steak. They just told me to come back another time to get the prime rib because its bigger and juicier. I don t think so.
Vatchi I was 10/10 tonight
Very good restaurant as always, we go there regularly and we are never disappointed. It was the server Vatchi who served us and the service was particularly excellent. He spent time answering all our questions and was particularly attentive to the children. A big thank you to him!
Ordered through Uber the ribs and tenders combo. Was sent no tenders, just ribs and fries. Fries were cold, hard and tasteless as well as I found a hair in them. Uber won t take accountability and the restaurant doesn t answer. Not ordering from here ever again. Stay away. Try a different location if you want this.
The Dessert was dry and cold...
Good place for red meat dishes such as Steab and their famius ribs. Better upscale options available around for sure, but you can t go wrong with this chain
Great food great atmosphere.
AMERICANS BEWARE! The waiter was incredibly rude! After asking for my sparkling water for a 3rd time very politely he came back and literally slammed it in the table! I ordered the Thai beef salad and they came out with the wrong salad. When they fixed it they came back and the beef was raw! So disappointed! It was obvious to me that he did not like AMERICANS!
Great service food good
The service was terrible. The waiter didn t even offer water, and they brought us someone else s order. When we pointed this out, they became indignant. Additionally, the pasta was not very tasty. I dont recommend it!
I hadnt been back since the long-awaited reopening. Menu intelligently reduced to the house classics. The portions are adapted to a normal European stomach, probably a little tight for the stomach of the resolutely carnivorous grizzly bear in the table... We would have liked a slightly more varied choice of beers, with better taste qualities. The remaining choices are all basic. The atmosphere remains noisy, certainly too noisy to enjoy your dinner. In a group, why not, for a one-on-one, it will be a yellow flag...
Great food, good service. I had the ribs & shrimp, both were excellent.
Great service from Laurent and Laurence, as well as the manager who was super friendly . The meal was delicious. We loved our evening. I recommend
We chose the Baton Rouge restaurant at the Jardins complex, attracted by its warm atmosphere and tasteful decor. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply tarnished by what I would describe as disappointing service, particularly from our waitress, Jade. Here are some elements that illustrate our disillusionment. The first significant incident occurred at 8 p.m., when I asked for a menu. After 20 minutes of waiting without any news, I had to retry my request. Jade then replied in an authoritative tone that the kitchen was on pause due to an influx of orders, which explained why she hadnt given us any menus yet. The menus were finally brought out ten minutes later, and from then on our evening began to take a disappointing turn. His response had no place in our interaction, and issues in the kitchen should not be transferred to customers in this manner. We would have appreciated receiving the menus sooner, along with an explanation that the kitchen had several orders waiting. Such an approach would have been better received, especially considering that the restaurant was full at the time. My friend ordered rare filet mignon with extra mushrooms. The mushrooms were served well before the meat, and when the filet mignon finally arrived at the hands of another waitress, my friend asked if the meat was rare, as it looked rather medium. The waitress took the plate back, but at that moment Jade came up behind her, snatched the plate from her colleague and abruptly placed it in front of my friend, categorically stating that it was from its rare fillet. She also mentioned that the staff was new, while showing a mocking smile towards her colleague, who quickly walked away. For me, the lack of respect between colleagues is concerning and shows an attitude that could also be reflected in the treatment of customers. Additionally, comments on internal team dynamics have no place in a customer interaction. A quality service must focus on the customer, avoiding involving them in internal staff problems. At 9:30 p.m. we re-ordered a bottle of wine. Before serving it to us, Jade informed us that it closed at 10:30 p.m., as if we were not allowed to order a bottle at that time. We had to assure her that we would finish it before closing at 11 p.m., before she decided to serve it to us. This unsolicited intervention added a sense of uneasiness and rush to the experience, thus detracting from our evening. My friend ordered an IPA refill, but after 20 minutes of waiting, he had to remind Jade of her order. She explained to him that she could not serve it because the barrel was being changed, all in an attitude that lacked professionalism. She came back to offer him another beer. This misunderstanding could have been avoided if, at the time of her initial order, she had clarified that the keg was being changed and offered to taste another beer. We felt a profound lack of consideration for customers. Quality service requires making every customer feel respected and valued. We hope that this constructive criticism will encourage better staff training to avoid such situations in the future. A review of task assignment would also be beneficial to ensure that each staff member can provide impeccable customer service, without being overwhelmed. A good restaurant must be able to manage its customers with care, even during busy periods. In conclusion, I recommend that the Baton Rouge restaurant pay close attention to the training of its staff and how they interact with customers. THANKS
A neat restaurant in the square of art!!
Soft places ideal for drinks or lunch or dinner
Nice place clean and good food.
There were 5 of us. The food was mediocre and not as advertised. Two examples (1) I ordered a roast beef dip sandwich that according to the menu was to include caramelized onions and mushrooms. It came with neither and neither the floor manager nor the kitchen were aware of the menu description. (2) The loaded baked potato was a dry potato with limited amounts of topping, ie, far from loaded. In addition, our decaffeinated coffees were served cold--- not warm, but quite literally cold. There was no soap in the dispenser in the mens washroom. We had to ask for our water to be refilled; a drink order was missed. When our bills came, the orders were mixed up and I realized I had been charged extra for a salad the waiter led me to believe could be substituted for fries. To Freds (manager) credit, he did apologize, was very courteous and understanding, and provided desserts and coffee on the house. However, the whole experience left us quite dissatisfied. Especially given the failure of the kitchen to know their own menu, we felt more could have been done to compensate for the shortcomings. For example, an applied discount across the table, or a voucher of some value against a future visit.
Could never.. There were 2 of us who each wanted to have dessert with special coffees... there were plenty of places inside and outside! We were refused to leave places for those who consume meals!!! We would have left with a bill of more than $50 with alcoholic coffees and desserts!!! I was literally insulted... I cant believe that we refuse customers because of the $$$ to be made on each head! Incredible and never again!
I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was fresh, soft, and tender, and the sauce that accompanied it was very good. In contrast, the coleslaw lacked flavor and did not provide the taste contrast needed to balance the dish, instead adding another fatty element. The breading, for its part, disappoints: it resembles industrial breading, like that of HighLiner, too uniform. A classic fish and chip is usually misshapen and coated in beer, giving it a distinctive texture and appearance. This standardized appearance of the breading is not an asset. A point to note, although secondary, but which remains important for me: when the restaurant is not full and the room is not permeated with cooking smells, a smell of old carpet is perceptible at the tables. Having a very sensitive sense of smell, this smell is not very welcoming. If I had just been in a relationship, I probably would have left the establishment.
Major disappointment! If spending $100+ for an evening dinner outing to celebrate anniversary of 38 years, one would expect great dishes! Unfortunately, salmon was burnt and dry as were the ribs. Sign said happy hour 4-7; however, charged full price! No soya sauce for the dry rice!
I was shocked to receive an ice-cold steak atop my Thai Steak Salad. I was told it was so the lettuce wont wilt. When we order a steak salad, we expect some anyway. Made the steak tought and it had no flavour. Very disappointed. Way too much dressing, too. I know its a popular place when there are events at Place des Arts so you would think they would lower the music - the people make more than enough noise.
I found the service a bit too slow, but the food made up for it.
Food was fantastic, extremely nice staff, however understaffed when I visited. One person at the bar doing both food orders, serving, and drinks.
Everything was perfect. Quality cuisine. Perfectly cooked blue meat. A very friendly waiter. What more can I say, I recommend +++
We were seated outside and placed our order for the Burger Baton Rouge and a nice Steak. I ordered the Jacob creek Shiraz and my fiancé ordered a blue moon beer. I was brought a pinot gabbiano. I let the waitress know this wasnt my wine order, to which she begrudgingly brought me the one I had originally ordered. When it came time to pay the bill, without any notification. They added it to our bill... I didnt know until after I had paid for the order and received the receipt. Very sneaky, very underhanded, not very demure.
Very good meal for the price.
I have been coming to Baton Rouge for over 15 years. For the first time, I had to ask for 1 glass of water, ketchup and mayonnaise sauces. No damp towels (hand towels) with the ribs, nor plates for the bones. I was not insisted on eating, after my meal I was directly offered the audition. Probably the last time I go there.
Thank you, Lany, Kimia and the person who served us( i forgot to ask his name) for making a memorable birthday gathering for us! We enjoyed our time and food and will return to see you again!
Everything is perfect! Multi-ethnic service. The headwaiter was asian but a big fan of Montreal. On the other hand, the manager, a Greek one who was very chic and with a Balcan flavour. I expect next time to have uzo or Greek desert from the Greek hospitality. Even my kids who dont easily enjoy places, they want to return here!
Many thanks to Laurie for her excellent service! We had a very nice evening!
Beautiful establishment and the faults are to die for
The steak was not good, the service very slow. Would not recommend eating here
the steak was too charred and bitter, had no salt, and was plain disgusting. the fries were acceptable but nothing worth going for. the spinach dip tasted fine, and the chips it came with was good. the service was absolutely revolting. we had 3 servers come to our table, and our original server came over only twice, once to greet us and the other to give is the cheque. she never refilled our drinks, and when we asked it would take 15 minutes to arrive. we had asked 2 different servers to give another cup of coke, and it never came. the cheque took over 10 minutes to arrive.
Service was horrific. We were sat outside with 4 other customer groups and the waitress would come out every 20 minutes. We spent over an hour in the restaurant waiting for drinks which they managed to mess up somehow. The steaks were burnt and not cooked as ordered. Overall, bad experience in every way. I would not recommend. Edit: After we left a non deserved tip, she complained and mouthed off at us. Absolute rude and disgraceful waitress.
Ribs were dry and tiny (two separate orders). Bigger ribs in the box from the store (at half the price!). Ordered mac n cheese, missing panco (listed on menu). Salmon tartar was bland, had to add salt! Offered dessert as comp. Really, you think I want more??! Never coming back, what a disappointment!
I cant believe that an establishment whose specialty is ribs can serve such a terrible meal to a paying client. The ribs were dry, tasteless and thouroughy burnt (black crust) on the bone side. PS, slathering sauce to cover up the burnt meat dosent help. This happened at supper time on July 31st when the restaurant was moderately full. Additionally, the coleslaw was tasteless. Worst meal I have had in a long time. Congrats Baton Rouge, Ill never go back. Bring on a rush to see a show at PDA, I didnt have time to wait for complaining and a new player. Maybe the manager/owner should pay more attention to what leaves the kitchen than mingling around the dining room. Good riddance.
I went downtown with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary. We were pleased to be served by a waiter who was genuinely and wholeheartedly nice. I forget his name, but he had glasses and said he is originally from France. He was attentive throughout our service and made the trip downtown worth it. It was my first time at a Baton rouge and we really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend!
Really friendly staff. Excellent service. Ribs were terrific.
I was impressed by the quality of the service, fast and efficient. I really enjoyed my visit. The staff is extremely courteous and the food is delicious!
In front of Place des Arts. The ribs are always so good! Super nice and friendly service, I recommend
Great food. Louisiana style food.
Weve been going to different branches of Baton Rouge for years and its always such a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, at this branch the food wasnt cooked and even when we returned it, it came back uncooked. Instead of offering somesort of compensation, the staff just seemed to be in a hurry and we ended our night dissatisfied and hungry. Luckily we had chicken soup waiting for us in the fridge at home.
We had a great meal served hot and in a timely fashion. All the waiters/waitresses were very nice.
Perfect for reception and cooking.
I enjoy this restaurant. Moved here from NYC and I must say Im impressed with the service and food. JADE is amazing, you can find her behind the bar. Great customer service and hospitality.
The thing is there is a waiter who smelled too many perfumes and was unpleasant when he approached our table we didnt taste our plate
Possibly the most beautiful Baton Rouge restaurant in Quebec. Very expensive, of course, but the food is incredibly good. A large terrace outside. Excellent service, you feel so good there. For a complete meal, count at least $60 per person before taxes and tip. Parking: Paid underground parking
I was sitting at the bar, no service, like I wasnt there. When paying, minimum tip on the machine 18% plus calculated with taxes......I will definitely not go there again
Very very disappointed!!! Your menu is very limited! Not even a choice of pasta and a lot of missing dishes! I will never go to Baton Rouge again! Paying $300 for 2 people I prefer to go to the Grinder restaurant for that price!
I dont know whats wrong, their food is usually excellent but they changed their tender chicken fillet, it made it dry, full of spice (it tasted like pfk) and even their bbq sauce is bad..... Im a huge fan of Baton Rouge but $32 for its yuck
Just very average for the price. Dry chicken. Dry rice. Sauce was very good tho. Very small portions. Probably much better options around for better quality and much better prices.
Great atmosphere. Exceptional meat and succulent dessert
Very basic service! Rare meat burger Never came to ask us if everything was to our liking, gave us our dishes without asking if we would like to have ketchup or mayo with our fries.. a robot would have offered the same service. Never again, baton rouge $115..
Had a glass of wine here on my first day. The staff were really lovely. Would happily visit again.
Eating on the street-level terrace was nice, it has shade. The menu is more limited (they call it exclusive), but they are flexible if you ask nicely.
We were served by a lovely waitress (Jenny). She was smiling, dynamic and took great care of us. A ray of sunshine!
Just had drinks. The location is great and drinks were good. Sat outside and did some people watching
I went there yesterday and the service was incredible as well as the food. I ordered the chicken Santa Fe, and had multiples glasses of their Red Sangria, and for desert I had their cheesecake that was to die for! Our waitress Jeany was absolutely wonderful and very helpful. I would 100% recommend, for any sort of occasion because the restaurant s setting is gorgeous. 10/10.
Good food
Ultra slow service. Appetizers (calamari) not warm and not tasty tastes like rubber. My $47 steak is low quality meat with lots of strong nerves impossible to chew on. Never again I will be eating anything else other than ribs at Baton Rouge.
Never again. Low quality food for a 2 people meal with each a couple of drinks for &200. Hard to chew expensive steak (didn t even eat half of it) none of the 4 drinks we tried tasted good. Actually very bad.
Very good food with an excellent server and a good atmosphere
Great service from Laurie and very good meal. Thank you for the wonderful evening to the whole team!
Lauries service was excellent. She is very friendly.
Shout out for our waitress Laurie! Awesome service. Convivial, smiling, and only good things to say.
Excellent service from Lim. Knows his menu, well advised, impeccable service! THANKS
I recently had dinner at Baton Rouge and the experience was exceptional. Jonny, our server, was cheerful and helpful, which went a long way to making our evening enjoyable. He went out of his way to accommodate us and make sure we had a good time. Dean, the manager, was also amazing. He went above and beyond our expectations to accommodate us despite the crowds, thank you for an exceptional time on the terrace in the middle of the festival! I highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent service and warm atmosphere. Thank you to the entire Baton Rouge team for this memorable evening!
First time since the his venue was renovated, ate during the Jazz Fest. Gone is the atmospheric place with brass ramps and musical instruments on the walls, you could really be in Cornwall or whatever generic place. The menu was shorter than usual, but pricier. It is really a Jazz tourist trap. The service, however, was excellent. Sorry to say we will not be going there again.
Very disappointing experience on my last visit. The restaurant was almost empty but all the customers were placed in the same section where the ceilings are very low which made the place very noisy. The service was much slower than my other visits to this chains restaurants. Water glasses were not refilled throughout the meal, and no coffee refills were offered either. I ordered the ribs plate with chicken tenders. The sauce for the ribs was much saltier than usual and the fillets were much too dry. Additionally, the serving of coleslaw on the side seems to get smaller from visit to visit. Next time I want to eat in Baton Rouge, Ill probably choose another of the chains locations. The quality of my experience at the Complexe Desjardins branch has declined significantly since its reopening.
Got the Atlantic salmon was a little burnt and tasted incredibly bland. The server was nice tho. Played exclusively bad edm remixes of songs
the welcome and the atmosphere excellent! The ribs and chicken tenders were delicious. The waiter Massimo helped me a lot to choose my dishes and the beer to best accompany the dish. Vegetarian options: Lots of salad choices.
We were recently with family. A great discovery! Top quality food! And above all incredible service by Jenny. We will come back with pleasure!
A very good romantic evening! Our waitress Jenny was adorable and super smiley. I totally recommend!!
Thank you Jenny for the great service
I was served a medium rare burger, followed by a slightly pink burger... The rest was poor.
Jenny gave us good service!
Thanks to Jenny
Disappointed they no longer validate theparking under th mall and restaurant Service was excellent and the food was we used to come here knowing we can park for free with the restaurant validating the parking ticket but I guess no more pretty good. New owners should resume th old policy of validating the parking ticket forthe garage like they used to
This is not a good restaurant when it comes to customer service. We were visiting Montreal for jazz festival so thought we would order some take out burgers before our next show started. When I called to place an order they said they weren t doing take out orders but could order through Uber eats or come by to the restaurant to order. We decided to go to the restaurant and order. When we arrived and mentioned to the 2 hostesses that we were there to place a take out they said no as its policy that they don t do take out orders during jazz festival I had mentioned that I had called and they said to come in and order. The 2 hostesses were beyond rude and started speaking in French. It was a good thing that my girlfriend understands French and they weren t saying good things about us. They were adamant until I wanted to speak to a manager. The hostess said I ll speak to the manager. She came back to say that he will make an exception and do our take out. It doesn t even make sense that they don t do take out when they do Uber eats. We ordered our burger the fries were ice cold and gave no cutlery or condiments. Even when they gave my food , the way they came across as if they were doing me a favour. Will never go there again or ever eat at a Baton Rouge.
My friend and her elderly mother got refused entry because they wanted to have tea/coffee and dessert and also out of the sun. So my friend asked for the manager and said they need to order a meal so they can enter, after arguing for about 10 min and a treat to call head offices to complain that they let her in but not only that they where not served water( it was 35 degrees with humidity) the servers were rude and one said they don t the item while another one said cheesecake was only serve for people that orders a meal. Ps my friend will call head office to complain for discrimination
These people know how to cook their steaks!
Bravo baton rouge record for the worst service in the city very, very far away, never seen that! Having closed for so long and coming back to serve the customer like that is useless... I think it will close quickly. For the food its ok the portions have really decreased and the prices have increased on the other hand, but it was ok, but with such bad service I will never set foot again, plus you dare to put your card machine with a minimum of 18% service a joke such a tip pays ladies and gentlemen.
Surreal experience, I know that Quebec suffers from a labor shortage in catering, but there is still a lack of the basics of service! on a Tuesday evening we arrive at 8 p.m. restaurant half empty so we are seated without problem, professional hostess she. We place our order and I ask for a cocktail and my wife for water. -I tell my cocktail and my wife doesnt have her water. -then come the dishes by another waitress I ask her for water and nothing after. -the dishes are in front, we but no utensils to eat them, I wait 5 minutes and catch my server I ask him for utensils it arrives 5 minutes later without excuse...Review more than 10 minutes after cold dish. -middle of the meal my wife still doesnt have water, asking twice. -I finished my dish, I barely put my fork down, they came to clear my plate at 100 miles an hour even though there werent many customers in the restaurant. -the waiter arrives and asks me for desserts? no, a coffee? yes without further question. -I get a regular old coffee at 9:10 p.m., no comment, I drink it, I dont want to sleep tonight. -5 minutes later they bring me the bill (I didnt ask for anything, it could have been split) and 10 minutes later the waiter comes and sits in front of our table with his chest in front and his card machine in hand and he waits for the not to mention (I hadnt asked for anything yet) and whats more, asking for a minimum of 18% is barely worth 5%. Overall, we will never come back (living right next door in the old building) and I hope that the manager will see this message and provide real training to these servers.
Maxime R, impeccable service! Fast, courteous, excellent. Thank you for your service!
The food was bland and cheap. Dirty cheap cutlery, smudges on the plates. Stale chips, Beef Tartare was bland. Presentation was horrible, I got a house salad that tasted like cinnamon oatmeal with scrambled eggs? Not worth the price kbbq is more worth it. Mashed potatoes were decent.
One of the best restaurants in Montreal.
Alright. Exceptional service. Thanks Jenny!
Great experience on the terasse. Lim is the man, if you get him as your waiter hes a riot.
Loved it , great service, and very delicious food. Very beautiful restaurant
Thank you to Jenny for this caring service full of smiles. The ribs are excellent, the service is quick. The apricot&co mocktail is very good. I am delighted and I will come back with pleasure.
The service was very good, the food was not so great. The Calamari portion is very small for the price, the fries coming with the burger were terrible, so slim, not fresh, not hot, just should be replaced with other type/ size, way of making it. The burger was good but also cold and the bun must be different to make it more attractive visually and taste like.
Thanks to Lim our server. Great service
Phil is as professional as you could be...
The food is to good and the food is way to good 5 stars
Food was amazing, my steak was cooked perfectly. The cheese cake was amazing and I finished it as shown in the picture.Special thanks to Mr Lim, if you go there look to be accommodated by him, he is very charismatic and professional.
Very pleasant service Different choices of drinks and meals Very original place to watch the matches
Prime rib Kid-friendliness: Yes Food : 5/5 |
Ive been eating at Bâton Rouge on Ste-Catherine for many times and its really lousy. There will be no 3rd time. Last night for dinner, the baked potato was not available, my partner did not have her garlic bread. The first time same kind of story, 2-3 things not possible to order. Am I just unlucky or what? The kitchen manager must sleep on the gas. I pity the poor waiters and waitresses who work in a place like that, you shouldnt blame them because, despite themselves, they receive insults from dissatisfied customers. A demanding job
We enjoyed our dinner following our big boys graduation. Johnnys service was impeccable. The food restriction was respected without any complications (just for that a +!) We had a time constraint and we were able to leave on time.
My partner and I ordered a burger and chicken Santa Fe, but the food was disappointing. The burger and chicken lacked seasoning and were undercooked, with a strange smell. Despite the restaurant being empty, the server rushed us through our meal, constantly hovering around our table and quickly presenting the bill. We ended up paying $96 for a meal that felt like a waste of money and ruined our Saturday lunch date.
Really disappointing service
The food is good but the service is terrible from start to finish.
My Sister and I were visiting from the States and we decided to try Baton Rouge Grill House & Bar... The food was excellent . We both ordered the ribs & fries with coleslaw. The ribs were cooked perfect, the fries werent greasy and the coleslaw tasted like coleslaw is suppose to taste ( not with sugar ). 5 stars isnt good enough, I give Baton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar a 10!!!
Very nice service and good, our table server Gael and NG are very nice and wonderful. Lovely experience and will be back

Marco was an amazing server, he made our experience great
Marco was wonderful, from a mid atmosphere to halfway decent food, Marco made our night amazing!
A very popular place in Montreal, famous for its BBQ ribs. We usually visit there at least once when we go to Montreal. Unfortunately, i was a bit disappointed with the ribs this time - they were overcooked and burned in places. Also, seemed more expensive this time than couple of years ago.
Very good service from our sappy genius
We had a great time. The dishes were good and we were welcomed by Jenny who made sure everything went well for us
