Bis Ristorante in Montreal

The place is filthy and old. I ordered a roast duck noodles soup, and the duck was not fresh. I touched one piece and left the rest because its probably weeks old. The broth has no flavor at all. The waiter was so miserable and seemed like he did not want to be there. He was so rude taking my order. I am Chinese and I know what good asian food is. How can they serve food like this? Its a shame and embarrassing to be them. Please stay away from this place.

Very intimate and elegant restaurant. Delicious food and excellent service. Maybe a little noisy because there were a couple of group tables (more than 6) gathered together and the space is small. Vegetarian options: Italian food with vegetarian options. Starters, pastas, salads, desserts... Parking: On the street, on both sides, it is possible to park. There are also several parking lots very close by.

Went twice to Bis and I m never disappointed. The staff is amazing. The carbonara pasta is amazing. The risotto was great. My cocktail was great and the desert 10/10. I highly recommend.

Nice atmosphere, although a little noisy. Food, service: nothing out of the ordinary, but everything was good. Generous dessert portion. Excessive price, not to mention that the suggested tips on the payment terminal started at 18% minimum. For a bill that is close to $200 for two people, that is downright lacking in dignity. Parking: There was some street parking, but it was all taken. I had to find public parking two or three blocks away.

This was our first time at Bis and it proved to be everything we had hoped for. As I had searched the internet for the best Saltinbocca in Montreal, Bis came up as the best candidate. They were right. The Saltinbocca was superbly delicious.

Salmon and vegetables were cooked perfectly. Too much Risotto; needed much less and could have added something else to vary the dish somewhat. Wasnt the best Creme Brulee Ive ever had. Lemon Cake was excellent.

This is the second time I visit this place, the food is wonderful and the people there is very kind. I really like this restaurant. I will come back to try all the menu.

What a great experience at Bis, on a Saturday evening! Having tickets for the hockey at 7 p.m., we booked for 5 p.m. We all (there were 4) were delighted with our meal. Salmon, lamb, steak and ravioli were all successful. Donovans service was impeccable; eager, attentive and full of humor. Marcello the owner often came to see us and created a lovely atmosphere. He recommended a great wine for us! The location is great! Close to everything, shops, the Molson Center, parking lots, the metro. A successful evening, in a warm restaurant, where young and old rubbed shoulders. Thanks to Marcello and his team, we can t wait to go back! Parking: If you cant find a space on the street, there is paid parking a stones throw from the restaurant.

Great Great food. But the service from our waiter is ...nah. We ordered a bottle of Barolo and barolos usually have gunk residus. We clearly asked our waiter to decant after approving the tasting. but...he never did. Later on, when were having our appetizers, we have to ask abusboy to bring a decanter

2024 dine in: the squid ink pasta had a cheesy sauce and was delicious. Complimentary meatballs were appreciated. Tiramisu had nice presentation but fell flat. The peartini and Pinot noir were perfect. Service from our older waiter was pretty disappointing, everything was very abrupt as if he didnt want to serve us. Didnt explain the specials unless asked. Did not ask if we had any questions. Didnt bring us water for the table until asked. Comparatively the next tables waitress and the bus boy were friendly and pleasant and took their time. And it was a quiet Tuesday night. 2021 Delivery: Got the salmon tartare which was delicious but only gave two croutons. The lamb pasta was perfectly meaty and oily. Ordered the tiramisu but it was forgotten, though was refunded quickly. My other issue is that after specifically adding a note to not give me utensils, I still got utensils.

Excellent food, good choice of wines, courteous and respectful service. All while respecting our time allocated for wine and dine and being able to attend the CH hockey match.

Nice place, friendly staff. Dish not in accordance with the menu (no oyster mushrooms without notice, ask before!!) Carbonated pork cheek. Its more like very cooked pancetta in small pieces. Disappointing.

Every time I am in Montreal I make it a priority to come here for dinner as the food is always incredible! The owner is lovely and you can tell he loves his restaurant as he checks on all the tables and comes to chat.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Bis Restorante! Very enjoyable atmosphere and the food is flavourful, a great medley of fine cuisine and comfort food. The service was outstanding with great recommendations from the servers. Definitely a place i would recommend whenever i have to say I know a good italian place if youre hungry.

The food was delicious but when we re paying for our meal a worker that was not our original friendly waiter came over and when it came time to tip was extremely overbearing. We wanted to tip as an actual full number rather than the percentage option and the worker raised his voice at us and was extremely rude. This response was extremely unwarranted and disappointing as he assumed we weren t going to tip because we were french (which could not be further from the truth). Needless to say we won t be coming back, which is a shame because the food was incredible. Vegetarian options: fried zucchini

They have gluten free pasta Kid-friendliness: We ate with my 3 year old grandson and they were more than accomodating.

We had a two night stay in Montreal and selected this restaurant just from finding it walking around the first evening. Food, service and wine were splendid. We loved it so much we decided to go there again the second night (which sometimes ends up disappointing) but it was even better the second time. We had totally different dishes the second night and they were superb. Highly recommend!!!

I had the quebecois gnocchi poutine and the veal with truffle sauce. The food was fine, but really not great. Service was good though.

A very good restaurant experience, in a convenient location. The food was excellent, we had the risotto and pasta, and both were perfect. The shrimp risotto was particularly good, with the right amount of creaminess.

The staff is very attentive and the service was impeccable. The menu is rich and varied. The pasta with lamb ragú is very good, but was overly salty in my opinion. I would gladly return and explore more of their menu items.

Went to Bis this past weekend and it was an amazing time. Served by Paloma who provided excellent service. She picked us out a delicious wine from their large selection that our family loved! Food was amazing, with both quality and quantity. All around great experience!

Showed up with no reservation, but they still took us in! They all provided fantastic service, including making an iced coffee that wasn t on the menu! Definitely worth the trip, hope to come back again next year!

Good morning, What I didnt like was the service which was too fast and impersonal, as if we were in a fast-food restaurant. The waiters seemed in a hurry to serve and clear the tables.

walked in at 11 pm on F1 weekend and we were greeted with, by far, the best service i ve received in montreal. We were a group of 12 people and not a minute went by where we were left unattended by the waiters and the staff. The food was fantastic and so was the wine. Weve been dining at Bis for over 20 years. The food and service are always excellent. Whether its pasta, seafood or veal we have never had a mediocre meal here. We have brought many friends with us over the years and they are always impressed.

We loved our dinner selections which included the Osso buco, shrimp risotto, and pasta with chorizo. Service was efficient and helpful. We happened to be at Bis when there were multiple birthday celebrations ongoing, thus the noise level was high. Great experience!

An authentic Italian Bistro. This small restaurant is such a lovely little Italian find! Our hotel, the Ritz, recommended it as a casual and walkable neighborhood restaurant. The food was fabulous and the service was also wonderful. We enjoyed salads, pasta and veal limone with profiteroles for a sweet finish. Cocktails and wine selection also impressive. So fabulous!

This is the best, most consistent restaurant in Montreal. The staff welcomes everyone as if they are regulars. The food is exceptional, especially the pasta with veal meat sauce and the pasta with clams. We live in Vermont, but go to this fabulous Montreal restaurant as often as possible.

Very noisy and not cozy. The waiters forget what was ordered and when they clean up the table they may carry plates over your head!!! I was afraid for something to be spilled on me . Food is average. Tiramisu was the worst I ever tried- very dry. Duck was mid rare- very hard to chew. Do not recommend it.

In town for business and I am so happy we found this place. Unbelievable meal, great service. The owner clearly wants to make sure everybody has a great experience and we were not disappointed. Looking for an excuse to go back to Montreal just so I can eat here again!

This is a nice place to eat with great food and one of the few places open for lunch. My husband had the pasta with the muscles, clams, lobster, shrimp, calamari, and scallops.....I had the green pasta in a cream saffron sauce with the small shrimp in the pasta and both of these dishes were amazing. This is one of the few places with birra moretti in Montreal which is my husbands favorite. The owner and waiter were nice and helped us with a great selection on lunch and they make you feel like family. I highly recommend this place.

The Spaghetti carbonera, unless you re a huge fan of pork cheek, was cheeks . Both the girl and I did not enjoy it and ultimately the meal was a bit of a flop. Not sure I d ever recommend this place. Service was great though!

5 star experience. The food was amazing, the service impeccable, the atmosphere super cozy and not too loud. A cute and small place that has a lot of history and you can taste true italian flavors! I had the stuffed eggplant and it was one of the best italian meal I ever had!

The food is amazing!!!!! Feels like authentic Italian food and the service is great. Vegetarian options: I had the veggie pasta and it was so good, I finished the whole plate! Parking: Its located downtown so its street parking with meters and of course paid parking lots nearby. Kid-friendliness: They had no kids menu but I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese and they made it smaller for her which was nice. Wheelchair accessibility: You have to go up some steps to go in, no ramp available for someone in a wheelchair.

Really not surprised that it was empty even on a Friday evening...the carpaccio with the thinnest slices in the universe...the gnioccies were bland...the wine was good on the other hand!

Decided to come here before the hockey game and very glad we did! Small restaurant and quite busy but a very warm atmosphere. Our meal was excellent. We had a salmon special and a pasta feature. Next time I want to try the risotto. The mini meatballs they offered after sitting down were amazing. Just as good was the staff. Very attentive and friendly. I think regulars coming in they know but we felt just as welcome. Will definitely come again when back in town.
