Located in the hotel lobby, this vintage-inspired interior space and terrace serves a French bistro-style menu with extensive wine and cocktail lists. Vegan options are available and menus are crafted with local and seasonal products.
Beautiful restaurant located in Hotel Honeyrose in downtown Montreal. Food is exquisite. Service is very friendly. Beautiful Ambiance and very modern. Totally recommand.
Aesthetics of the place are amazing. But service and food are very average. Long long wait times to get our menus, get water, get food, surprisingly though the check came in no time. Food was okay, not delicious. But the hotel’s entrance and the restaurant’s look are super pretty.
My wife and I had an amazing experience here. The dishes were fantastic and the service was great! We will definitely be coming back very soon.
Had a great dining experience here and returned a few times during my short visit in Montreal. The food is incredible, and presentation is stunning. A must try is the beet salad. It was so fresh and loved the pairing with avocado and feta. The brunch was fantastic too - I had the eggs Benedict, and the hollandaise was a delectable, with the perfect balance of lemon flavour. If you’re staying at the Honey Rose hotel or are in the area, I’d highly recommend.
I was on a work trip staying at the beautiful Honeyrose Hotel. We ended up having to work into the night several days in a row and we were sequestered to our rooms. Hotel restaurants and room service can leave a lot to be desired. Our meals were outstanding! I enjoyed both the steak and the Grilled Chicken of Quebec. Everything was cooked to perfection. The flavor profiles were complex but complimented every aspect of the dish. Additionally I am gluten free and my dishes were safe! My colleagues enjoyed the gnocchi so much they ordered it several nights in a row. The onion soup was deeply satisfying as well. Thank you for making what could have been a difficult stay wonderful. Montreal has a lot to offer culinary wise, and this restaurant was no exception.
I stayed here at the end of February and absolutely loved my stay. Chic new cozy trendy hotel. I sincerely think it's one of the best places I've stayed in a very long time. The details in the architecture of this place is absolutely divine. Not a single spot didn't leave me in awe. It's absolutely gorgeous in all of the common spaces. The breakfast at the Commodore was delicious. Service was a little slow and wonky at first but staff was friendly and food was extra yummy, well cooked and seasoned. Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and welcoming. Really enjoyed my stay. The room was gorgeous and clean. The only thing I didn't really like is the toilet situation... No one wants to be heard when nature calls, doesn't matter if you're in a romantic or platonic situation...closed room with a fan will always be the way to go.
Incredible experience - I loved the food and the vibe. I thought the prices were reasonable for the food, service was great too however it was indeed a bit slow as other reviews have mentioned, but that is the French way. Eat slowly with tons of time for conversation. Great location and overall would highly recommend for a nice night out in Montreal.
The interior and the atmosphere were great but the service was poor. I ordered the continental but there was no indication whether it contained any nuts. However when the food came out, the yogurt came out with nuts. They should put this information in the menu clearly. And they gave my friend the wrong food. The staff apologized and gave her a mimosa for free. But again, they forgot to bring bread for my other friend's food. The server was kind overall, but the service was not professional at all. If they improve the service this restaurant would be a good place.
Good morning . I am very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant last Friday! The staff is bitter and looked at us in a very unpleasant manner, which made the atmosphere unwelcoming and very irritating on my side, plus the food served was cold, not plentiful, too many restrictions here and there! I went for a birthday and the evening was really really bad
The dishes are very generous and the atmosphere was very beautiful!
Nice setting, friendly and attentive staff, I recommend!
Great discovery in the big city.
Very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The food was just ok and the service was pretty mediocre. Not at all friendly, doesnt seem to want to satisfy customers.
Ideally placed.
Staying at the HONEYROSE hotel for vacation with my husband. We have eaten here twice for both lunch and dinner. Food was good and atmosphere relaxing, but service was extremely lacking. On both occasions we had to flag down waitstaff for anything other than our initial order. It seemed they had better things to do such as get tables ready with no one seated at them instead of ones with customers already seated. Needless to say we will not be spending anymore money at this establishment. I ve had better service at fast food establishments. Save your money and go find a place with better service reviews because the food and atmosphere do not make up for lack of service here.
The staff s reputation as being condescending and arrogant precedes them for good reason. I usually don t dine under 4 star reviews but we wanted to try Commodore because the menu and venue seemed nice, but this place is not worth it. They look down at guests they know nothing about not realizing how much money they re missing out on. We were not let in to the restaurant because my friend and I were dressed for halloween. They said the restaurant was closed when it says it closes at 11pm on google maps. I called to confirm i could come at 9:30pm, they said the restaurant is empty and we can come whenever we want. Granted we arrived at 9:50 they said the restaurant was closed, but we saw people sitting there and we saw a lady enter the restaurant when we were leaving.
Great restaurant, very good service and very refined dishes!
Worst experience ever! From the moment we arrived, the service was extremely unsatisfactory. The manager, Patrick, treated us with a blatant lack of respect. I absolutely do not recommend this place! To avoid. Worst experience ever! From the moment we arrived, the service was extremely unsatisfactory. The manager Patrick treated us with blatant disrespect. I absolutely do not recommend this place! Avoid at all costs.
The Server was very correct with us... the problem was the manager... he reproached us for things aggressively and was not at all courteous... I regretted my evening yesterday my friends and I We left there all angry and upset...Luckily for him I dont know his name otherwise I would have mentioned it...that will teach him to treat customers better...he will recognize himself.
The food was very fresh and good. it really taste fine french dining. We ordered 3 plates and all of them were tasting great. We had the salmon tartare with the salmon burger and the bifteck and fries. Food
Thanks to Phil for his impeccable service to the Commodore! He took the time to recommend the fish of the day, and we were not disappointed. It was a real treat and the place is super beautiful for a date!
What a wonderful time at the Commodore. Everything was perfect. Thank you for the service, ambiance and food. I was there for brunch and the boudin was simply delicious. A big wow and I m not even exaggerating. I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you Commodore!!
We were staying at the Honeyrose Hotel and ate twice at the Commodore. The first time was for drinks and small plates before we headed out for a larger meal at another restaurant. Service was great and the food was good. Duck Terrine, beet salad and fries. The second time was for breakfast. Service was good and the Benedict and Continental were quite nice. The roasted breakfast potatoes were salty, but I didn t mind. The atmosphere was classy and designed to accommodate fun people watching while dining, which I also didn t mind. Nice place to eat overall.
Absolutely terrible service, condescending comments, we were poorly welcomed and poorly treated, the waitress who insinuated that we could not afford the soup of the day. Apparently the table is only available for 2 hours, something that was not mentioned in advance when booking, we were rushed to order and eat, only to DEMAND a tip at the end. We tried to explain to him that the service was not good, which led to a 5-minute exchange that was more unpleasant than the service. I dont recommend it at all. Save your time and money.
Bad service, condescending comments were made to us implying that we would not be able to pay for stuff, we waited a very long time to receive our bill and the server was serving other clients, instead of us! Additionally, the manager/store owner was not understanding of our frustrations and did nothing to accommodate us. Very bad experience, I highly do not recommend.
Rude, condescending waitress. Bad service.
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant due to the condescending attitude of the waitstaff. From the moment we were seated, we felt looked down upon, as the waitress insinuated that we couldnt afford certain dishes. While we were ordering, she repeatedly questioned whether we truly understood the plates we were selecting, which came across as patronizing and unwarranted. They rushed us throughout the meal, insisting we had to leave in two hours despite the restaurant being empty. At 9 PM, when we were supposed to wrap up, the waitress suddenly told us we could stay because they managed to find another section to sit the next group (as the restaurant was half empty), however everyone was already done due to the constant pressure to vacate our table. When we told our waitress we were done (30 minutes later), it took her an additional 30 minutes to bring the bill, and we had to ask for it. Instead of attending to us, she kept running back and forth to other tables, and ignoring ours. During this time, three people at our table chose not to tip due to the poor service, prompting the manager to make snarky comments under his breath. We tried to ignore his remarks, but it felt as though he was intentionally trying to humiliate us by ultimately starting a loud argument, insisting we needed to be educated on restaurant etiquette and tipping culture. He claimed we deserved this treatment because we were an hour late, which was completely untrue, as the first guest arrived promptly at 7 PM and we ordered at 7:45. He even went so far as to say we should be grateful that they allowed us to have a table there at all. Overall, the combination of rude service, condescension, and a dismissive manager made for an incredibly frustrating dining experience. I won t be returning.
Waitress was rude and even after a complaint was made to the management they were also rude and condescending.Save your money!
Rude waitstaff with an impolite and condescending manager. Don t waste your time and money going here.
Very tasty fresh breakfast with attentive service - top.
I recently dined at the Commodore, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was cozy and inviting. What truly stood out was the exceptional service from Patricia. Her warm demeanor and extensive knowledge of the menu made us feel right at home. She offered thoughtful recommendations and was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our glasses were full and our needs were met. Highly recommended!
Philippe was an amazing server who made this entire experience feel premium and complete. This was our first time and certainly not our last time here. Additionally, the house made foie gras is outstanding and is a must-get dish
Positive point: -The romantic and quiet atmosphere -The starter and dessert were excellent . Negative point: -The waiter explains the dishes to the customer. Ill put this down to the cost of fatigue. -The main course I didnt think was good, it tasted like nothing. For a restaurant of this caliber I expected better.
There were 4 of us for my friends birthday, we shared the duck breast as well as the salmon tartare & we all had food poisoning. We wrote to the restaurant to complain, never received a response from them. I strongly RECOMMEND AGAINST!
Commodore Restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality, with a nice lady Carla. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet moment alone. The menu for lunch offers a delightful selection of dishes. I especially loved their duck confit, which was cooked to perfection. The staff is attentive, always ready to offer recommendations or accommodate dietary preferences. Overall, the whole visit exceeded my expectations, and I cant wait to return for another memorable experience!
We had a superb experience at the Commodore restaurant!! The service was impeccable, special mention to our server Nicki, who made our experience memorable. The dishes are varied and very tasty, I highly recommend this place!
I had a fantastic experience at Restaurant Commodore! The food was absolutely delicious, with the steak cooked to perfection and the red wine suggested by our waitress Delphine. Our first cross with service was Carla, she was incredibly nice and attentive, making the evening even more enjoyable. Everything was top-notch, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and excellent service. Loved it!
I am deeply disappointed by the attitude and service of the Commodore restaurant in Montreal. After waiting over two months for a response to my email, I was finally met with a dismissive and condescending attitude when I attempted to make a reservation over the phone. The employee, who was not only disrespectful but also blatantly arrogant, treated me with a complete lack of consideration, cutting me off on several occasions and speaking to me in an unacceptable manner, as if I were a child. He went so far as to ask me if I was aware of the cost of booking a private room, clearly insinuating that I couldnt afford it. He also insinuated that my group was only interested in taking photos, a remark that was not only inappropriate, but completely false. Furthermore, he refused to take my reservation under the pretext that the restaurant was full, which turned out to be a complete fabrication. When I mentioned that I wanted to book for a group of 16 people, in accordance with the information received by email, he curtly informed me that I could only book for a maximum of 10 people, which is in total contradiction with what I was told. had been communicated. Even more disturbing, my friend, who called shortly afterward introducing herself under a different name, was able to secure a reservation with all the privileges I had been denied. In short, this experience was a real fiasco, marked by deplorable customer service and inconsistent reservation management. I absolutely do not recommend this establishment.
Excellent food, super good drinks and very nice staff!
The breakfast sausage was disgusting. Do not recommend breakfast here!
Food was delicious. Fantastic atmosphere. Our server, Nicky, went above and beyond - made the experience that much better!
Wonderful restaurant near Place des Arts which makes it very interesting for a pre-show meal. The food is excellent, the attentive and courteous service from Nicki particularly exceptional, and the decor fabulous!
The salmon tartare is delicious and the service is always on top!
I am extremely disappointed with the restaurant service! I made a reservation for my sisters party! And I mentioned that I wanted a little cake with a candle like all the restaurants just to mark your birthday! The Host was a tall man and I believe French from France due to his accent did not even bother to make the effort to process this request! For a hotel I think the service is not up to par, really disappointed and last time I would go there. Dont go for your birthdays wont make you feel special entka
Worst customer service ever!!
Very good service and excellent food
I recommend this restaurant, the atmosphere is good, on top of that their service is fast and they have a good server Mr. Philippe
We visited The Commodore on our final day in MTL with our entire family (in laws on both sides) and WOW, it was a special experience! Our server was attentive and fun, always ensuring we had everything we needed. The food was spectacular - we all had something different and I dont think a plate went back with anything left on it. We had such a great experience that our families couldnt quit raving about it all night. To top it off, the space was absolutely beautiful - from the restaurant to the bathrooms - and we were comfortable throughout our meal. I definitely will have The Commodore in mind the next time we are in MTL and certainly will be back! 10/10 recommend Parking: Parking across the street in a paid, secured, underground lot.
Morons let someone else charge their meal to my room
Excellent service, food is good, but the atmosphere needs work. It definitely lacks heat. Its not warm. Its cold.
I didnt like my experience there the menu was very limited, the host or manager (French) was not pleasant he rushed us to order and we took photos and they stopped us the food was very mediocre. He told us to hurry up and order because the restaurant will be busy this evening and in reality the restaurant was empty so I really said it didnt matter just so we could get out of the way. Really the host/manager was not welcoming and I am very disappointed with the one page menu with 10 choices, its ridiculous. I dont recommend it apart from the frame and the aesthetics its not worth it.
The brunch menu is very limited and overall the food was not good! The service was very slow as well! Not recommended
Best food we had over the past year, including restaurants in the US, Argentina, and numerous EU countries
The restaurant was beautiful. The service, Patricia, was exceptional. The food was great, although I wish the steak I ordered was larger, that s my preference. But other than that, a 100% adding to our list. Merci.
Warm new restaurant, the customer service was up to par, the dishes delicious. A favorite for the butter and the simply magnificent space, the concept of this place is refreshing, classy and beautiful. However, there is room for improvement for the cocktails and the wait was a little long but overall I recommend and I will return there from what I understand the restaurant had just opened 5 days ago when we Went there so I cant wait to go back to see the improvements.
Wow! An exceptional experience, first of all the place is very elegant and modern. Even going as far as the design of the toilets. The service is courteous and careful, worthy of a great 5* restaurant. We eat really well there. For my part I had the burger, a delight, you could smell the food and the fries were fresh. The coffee is grain and homemade so what more could you ask for! Go for guys
Great decor and atmosphere, but apart from that the place is definitely overrated. We were a party of 10 which became a party of 9 due to an emergency and they weren t happy about this. They tried imposing a group menu on us, finally settled on à la carte if everyone ordered an appetizer and main. I was able to negotiate getting 2-3 appetizers as none of the mains were interesting to me. I ordered French onion soup which was bitter, likely from burnt onions. How you mess up something as basic as French onion soup in a French bistro is beyond me. I ordered a tarte fine which was a little bland, but all right and some oysters which were fresh. I ordered Le Figaro one of their signature cocktails which didn t taste like much. The service was nothing exceptional. Never got a water refill, even when I asked. The waitress wasn t mean or anything, but basic stuff like refills asking if we wanted repeat drinks etc was lacking. They imposed a 15% service charge at the end categorically, I guess because of the group size. Would have been good to indicate on the menu or inform everyone beforehand as a courtesy. If you re an instagrammer I guess it s okay, but if you value good food and decent service, I wouldn t go. I think 3 stars is generous.
Very nice new spot, food is delicious Can t wait for the summer, for the terrace opening. It will be the hotspot of Montreal this summer. im guess ! Food
Superb place, very welcoming staff and always ready to serve you. Also ideal for your photos
Very nice setting! Very good food. But we left hungry. Really unfortunate. No bread available during the meal in a French bistro? What is that?
I discovered this pretty restaurant located at the new Marriott hotel, Honeyrose, at Place des Arts. With its art deco style decoration, it gives a bistro feel. The brunch was delicious and the service friendly. The sound system when you are seated at the top overwhelms when a group is seated at the bottom and talking very loudly. Be careful, the café closes early.
I came here for my birthday and all I can say is I was so impressed by the service with Nikki and the ambience. He was an impeccable waiter and I really enjoyed the food. I tried oysters for the first time in my life and they now have me hooked on wanting more oysters. We also had the french onion soup, sweet potato soup of the day, duck legs and veal steak, all of which was delicious and perfect. Both meats pulled apart beautifully and was moist. I know they are a young business, I look forward to their menus developing and becoming more refined, I will be back again soon. If there is anything I can suggest for improvement it would be developing a better dessert menu. I tried the ice creams and charlotte fruit cake. The almond ice cream was great but the fruit ice creams being more water high was a bit more on the icy side and tough to break into. The cake part I find the sponge rim was a bit on the drier side which made it disassemble from the cream cheese filling right away. It doesn t seem like the two texture sits togethers quite right.
Beautiful restaurant, with attentive service. The gnocchi and duck breast were very good! A superb place for a dinner with friends.
Very nice place Tables for 2 people are very very small We asked for a bigger table but refused. The food is not good no flavors or inconsistent accompaniments. Lack of choice in the wine list The best part of the evening was a friendly waiter Parking: Pay $28 for hotel parking
I do not recommend this restaurant. From the start we were poorly received by the man at reception and he kept glancing at our table all evening which made us extremely uncomfortable all evening. The waiter had a bad attitude and if it wasnt for ordering the waiter never came to see us. In addition, every time we asked to see our server we were made to wait. The food took forever to arrive. People who arrived after us received their dishes before us. This was the worst customer service I have ever had in my life in a restaurant! The atmosphere was zero. It completely ruined my birthday dinner!
Went here for the special Easter brunch. The restaurant itself looks quite nice, but the experience eating here was dismal. The hostess took long to seat us despite having a reservation, and the wait staff took long to serve us and rarely checked in on us. We ordered smoothies, but were told they had run out and the person who makes them was gone for the day. Does the chef not know how to put fruit in a blender? One of the dishes we ordered came with yogurt - but the server didn t bring a spoon until we asked. The food was acceptable, nothing special. There was a fruit fly circulating around during our meal. In March there s no insects outside yet, but apparently there is in this restaurant. For a restaurant in an upscale hotel like the Honeyrose, I expected much better.
Excellent! Thank you for the welcome
We came for a dinner to celebrate my sister birthday around 8pm. Unfortunately we had a bad experience! 1- we originally booked 4 seats table and ask them if they could get us 2 additional seats and they refused pretending they were fully booked we have arrived and there were seats available. 2- the waiters were quitte slow and it took exactly 30 min just to receive the Menu which never came we had no choice but look online. 3- the food took quitte a long time but honestly speaking the food was excellent. 4- we have finished our dinner and as we wanted to leave no one is there take our bills. We have spend more time waiting for their services than enjoying our time and fully experience this beautiful restaurant. I don t think I will come ever again unfortunately !
Really not all that, there s better spots in mtl.
Had brunch at Commodore with family after my teen saw it on TickTok (!!!). Everything was perfect but it s clearly overpriced. Sharp and kind staff, great ambience, generous and delicious meals. But at 124$ for 3, without alcohol or specialty coffee, it s clearly overpriced and that s why I didn t give 5 stars.
The main meals were delicious. Well plated. The service was reasonable. The entrees were also beautifully decorated, but I feel we were served 1 scallop sliced thinly. Would have liked to finish the dinner with a decaf but none was available
Very good dishes, very beautiful decor, but the service is very slow.
Some of the food was good, but most was too salty. The tartare tasted funny and the waiter made a mistake with one plate and tried to tell us we we didn t tell him what we wanted correctly. He often seemed to forget about us, not coming back to see if we were ok and not refilling water - we had to track him down to tell him the order was wrong and again when we wanted the bills. Ok restaurant if you re staying at the hotel, but I would not recommend otherwise.
Food Sea Bass (A little bland. I think I would have liked a bit of texture like something crunchy) Grilled Duck Breast (The mushroom puree was a miss for us) Creme Blulee (Top was burned) Service Very friendly Atmosphere Nice chill and laid back. Cozy and intimate.
I went to this restaurant during Montréal en Lumière with a visiting chef. The service was super slow. We had to ask for bread and water multiple times. The food had very small portions and was not very tasty. With tax the bill came out to 120$.
A superb restaurant in the heart of the Honeyrose Hotel. A very classy 50s decor. Quality cuisine and preppy atmosphere.
Very impressed with our dinner and desserts tonight at Commodore. Great service too!
Everything about this place is 10/10; amazing food, great service, and really nice ambiance. Restaurant is located inside the HONEYROSE Hotel.
We had lunch on a Saturday. Great service, our server Philippe was accommodating and very friendly. We didnt need to ask for more coffee and it arrived Beautiful atmosphere and decor, the food was very good. We were not disappointed.
Dinner service was slow but the waiter was delightful, helpful and overall good. The food itself was underwhelming and flavorless. The menu is lacking and limited, so it s hard to decide what to order. Breakfast/brunch was where it fell off. Next morning I went for brunch, got seated but no one ever came to even offer water. I waited for a while trying to flag someone down. After 30 mins of nothing, I walked out.
I went to this restaurant for the first time last night. I decided to try a new restaurant for my birthday and it was such a disappointment. Firstly me and my friends got to the entrance and wanted to park our car in their paid parking lot, we were told that the parking lot is almost full and to go find parking on the street by the receptionist. We then spent 15 minutes looking for parking. We get to the restaurant and waited 50 minutes to get our food. The wait was long and it definitely wasn t worth it, I ordered a medium well steak and it was so overcooked, extremely dry, the best part of my plate was the fries. My friends got the gnocchi and tartare, they were both very unimpressed, it was super bland. First and last time I am going to this restaurant.
Aside from the decor and design and the friendly girl at the coffee counter our experience was more or less good the lunch at $18 for two egg rounds was absolutely inedible
Thank you Nikita, an experience to live with good friends and family, you are a Russian star!
Very chill vibes, good steak. Service was a bit slow.
Very good food and more than excellent service!
The place is really beautiful and fancy but a bit dark. The food is overpriced for the taste, it wasn t amazing at all and the menu is a bit empty, more choices would be appreciated. The fries were too salty, I couldn t finish them. The staff was okay. The lady at reception was such a sweetheart.
The stuff is not friendly and very pushy . I liked the place and atmosphere, but the waiter and the hostess ruined the vibe immediately. Don t recommend.
The food was mostly really good. Fish of the moment was way overpriced compared to the rest of the menu (for a cheap fish). Service was mediocre at best.
Best service I ve ever had in Montreal, the food is phenomenal and it s definitely a must try!!!
Great food but service is just nonexistent. We were there for dinner last night as hotel guests. The server sat us at the table but then didnt come back even with the water for a good half and hours, the same issue continued throughout the night. At the end we considered ordering the dessert and asked to see the dessert menu. The server said she will go get the menu and disappeared again. We waited and waited for well over 30 minutes and then had to flag another server to just ask for our final bill. Awful experience.
The atmosphere and the place are very cute, the service was very good and the staff were nice. The food was OKAY, I got the vege egg benedict for brunch, it can be better. They have GF options.
Gnocchi was dry and unrecognizable. Duck breast had good flavor but was very tough and over cooked. Took a long time (1 hour) to get our main course, it was obvious the kitchen forgot our order. No big deal but kinda messed up our plans for the night. Had to remind the staff and flag them down to get anything. But it was clean and the Espresso martini was good!
The food was excellent and so was the service! Wonderful evening
Excellent !!! Thank you so much Fair prices, simple and excellent food, top service We will come back
As usual, Chef Gregory never disappoints. Very good menu, nice atmosphere, Ill definitely be going back!
Beautiful menu, pleasant atmosphere and impeccable service. I recommend!
Wonderful food, great atmosphere!
Cocktails, starters and desserts excellent, but a little disappointed for the dishes (veal) and fries without taste for the beef. However, excellent service (Karine) and good atmosphere!
This is an absolute gem of a restaurant. The decor immediately gives that mid century modern feel to it without being overwhelming. The food and the service are absolutely top notch. At this price point, I think youd be hard pressed to find something better in the area.
Very friendly atmosphere, impeccable service with Nikita and excellent meal!
Love this place, it s wonderful! We went for breakfast and liked it so much that we went back the next day to try the rest of the menu. The eggs Benedict, waffles and croque madame are amazing. We like that the portions are generous but not humongous- it s just the right amount of food. The decor of the restaurant is awesome, it s clean, smells nice and the staff is incredibly polite and efficient. Love it and will definitely be going back many, many times.
Did not receive food after 2 hours and ended up cancelling order. Staff did their best as they recently opened, but did not fill up glasses and messed up many of our orders. Nice place but would not come back.
Excellent experience. Food was excellent and service was good. Would return.
A very pleasant experience at the Commodore for dinner. Staff couldnt have been more welcoming and solicitous. The halibut I ordered was the best Id ever had. Présentation was attractive and the portion size was generous. Chef Gregory and his team knocked that one out of the ballpark. My dinner companion enjoyed his steak, but found a bit more seasoning would have made it even better. Both our appetizers, my tuna carpaccio and my companions French onion soup, were delicious. I expect this new venue will get more traction in short order, given the quality of the food, the ambiance and great service. Pricing points are very reasonable. I cant wait to return and also try Muze, their second F&B outlet. Kudos to Isabelle and Mickey for taking auch good care of us.
The staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. I had a reservation for after 9 and it turns out that the kitchen closes shortly after. Not too sure why they allow people to reserve around that time if that s the case. I was told that we had to order quickly because the kitchen would be closing (which is fine) but it took 15 minutes of us standing around waiting for someone to even serve us and have us seated while several employees saw us waiting and would even go out of their way to ignore my waves and attempts to get them to serve us. I was so frustrated I actually left before I even ordered so I couldn t comment on the food.
We had drinks and split appetizers. The foie Gras and the terrine were both wonderful. The dinner selections looked wonderful, but we had had a late lunch. Restaurant was elegant and comfortable.
Nice decor and good food! Very interesting gluten-free and vegetarian options Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian dishes Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options available
A magnificent place, delicious and truly surprising cuisine, and an ideal atmosphere for a group meal: this restaurant brings together all the ingredients for you to spend a wonderful evening in the heart of Montreal! Special mention for the salmon which was truly delicious. Go try their menu as quickly as possible, you wont regret! Vegetarian options: Herlum tomatoes, steak style, exceptional and delicious despite the restrictions
The hotel looks nice but if you were thinking of eating, you better pick another spot. This was the most horrible experience of hospitality and service I have ever experienced. I have been a part of the food service industry for over 20 years and I get better service at Tim Hortons. The waiter was on the moon when he was present and that was not often. Another waiter took our order. When we finally got our food, it was warm at best. One dish took 10 minutes after everyone else had their food. Two people were supposed to have bread with their meal and it only came after they were almost finished. We also had to ask for it 3 times. Water glasses were not regularly filled despite multiple requests. The quality of the food was terrible. Plates were a mixture of under seasoned or over seasoned, under-sauces. One guest had the driest bacon and sausage we ve ever experienced at a restaurant. Overall, we all left hungry and unsatisfied.
Everything we tried on the menu was EXCELLENT! From pâté en croute, tuna carpaccio and foie gras, to veal, salmon etc. And what about desserts? A tasty, well-balanced blend of flavors. Congratulations to the chef! More than courteous service!
Nice restaurant! Veal chop and its juice at the top! What butter! And beautiful coffee/chocolate profiterole rarely tastes this good!
Everything you expect when you want a great dining experience. A1 service. Food was excellent with generous portions. Wine list for all budget & taste. Ambiance music that is not overwhelming. And a fabulous space with a luxurious Art Deco inspo. Prices are decent. Definitely coming back.
Over rated, over priced, not even good music, the place is beautiful but that s it
Excellent!! Super nice restaurant.
Spent several nights at the hotel with breakfast included. Avocado toast with pickled radishes. Vegetable omelette with chopped asparagus. My favorite was the eggs Benedict with ham. Honestly one of best I ve had! Muffin was soft, thin ham with Swiss grilled. Perfect poached eggs with very lemony hollandaise. Perfect bites. Very fresh fruit. Even the potatoes were hot and fresh. Also had the halibut for dinner one night. Fantastic. I would add that the bar is just okay. Drinks are watery. But would definitely return for a meal.
French cuisine. The service was courteous and friendly. The dishes were tasty and well executed. The entries were original. A nice variety on the menu.
Zucchini tartare was delicious, so were the accoutrements with the salmon confit (not so much the salmon itself, it was farmed fish and slightly undercooked). However accomodating and courteous, service was a little uncoordinated. There were only 3 groups in the restaurant, and timing of service felt staggered (no water refills, no meal checkup, slow to provide bill, no offer for coffee/tea with dessert).
The restaurant is beautiful and offers a beautiful little outdoor terrace. We went there one evening when the Osheaga festival was taking place. The waiter told us that was why it was so quiet. There were very few customers, so no atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive. Decent cocktail menu and very limited and quite expensive wine by the glass offer. Meal Starter 1: Special request to have a green salad. Good vinaigrette, fresh produce. Starter 2: Beetroot salad. Uneven cooking of the beets, some very tender, others impossible to cut. Bland avocado mousse and so little feta (a few sprigs) that you dont notice the taste. Plate 1: Grilled angus beef top sirloin. Good portion of beef, cooked to perfection, delicious homemade béarnaise sauce, decent fries. Plate 2: Nova Scotia halibut. Superb plate, well executed. Mixture of texture, very tasty. Bread and Butter: Delicious!! Desserts: We didnt have any but we were told that two desserts on the menu were not available.
The evening promised to be beautiful. Reservation made for 8 p.m. for 4. We are quickly installed and the order is taken as well. Our starter to share arrives with the bottle of wine then... Nothing is going well!! You have to ask for water several times More than 20 minutes after finishing our starter we asked for our dishes. One of the dishes arrived non-compliant and far too salty. Halfway through the meal we asked for a second bottle of wine which never arrived. We are offered to have dessert, lets be crazy and dare!!! It will only be a utopia, they give us the card but no one will come and take any order. After 2 hours, our table was not cleared and we left, not without having to complain to pay the bill. As a good Frenchman, we expected a minimum of service in a restaurant claiming to be a French bistro. We were so disappointed!!! However, both the lobster ravioli and the halibut were very good. We were heartbroken to have to leave a tip.
Business lunch during the week. Very light day when one would expect to receive a certain efficient service. Only 4-5 tables of 2 present. The decor is incredible and the bar is magnificent, but the food isnt really worth the trip. The service was very ordinary, a lot of down time between meals, lack of utensils when the dishes arrived, a mistake on the main course received by someone at the table. Really nothing to write to your mother as they say, I hope they will improve to succeed! Good luck in the future.
Such a beautiful place and good vibes & yummy food and a little bit pricey. We didn t have a reservation and we couldn t sit in terrasse but definitely we come back.
Really not good
Lunch table d hôte $35. An absolute treat. The class. A success for a long time. Same in the evening.
Amazing café and restaurant ! Very good french food Food
It hasnt been open for very long when visited. The food is refined and elevated, cocktails as well. Not much atmosphere with very few clients. Perhaps the service was slow for also feeling the slow vibe. Overal all of a great potential, if you are a group, and you make your own night. Hope the place catches on. The food and decor are definitely a catch for the price.
The restaurant is not bad, but for the prices I would expect better quality of food. The atmosphere is nothing out of the ordinary. The restaurant was empty and we still waited almost an hour for the food.
Everything during my visit for dinner was excellent - food, drinks, service, and ambiance. If you happen to arrive at a time when their chef s selection dishes are available, I highly recommend seeing what s available that day, as the duck confit being offered when I visited was exceptional. Will definitely return the next time I visit Montréal!
The restaurant is very nice, the meal and service were ok, not too expensive. Location is great, next to a place des Arts and metro station
We loved it, we had dinner twice and lunch also one time in a span of 7 days.
Truly fantastic! Absolutely delicious food! A great discovery.
Pleasant and new setting. Restaurant open for 5 months so very young. We had to ask 3 times for water and wine. 3 types of wine not available. Room for improvement.
Very slow service and a lot of waiting between dishes. More than 4 red wines on the menu were out of stock. I had the duck breast and ended up with a strip of duck breast. At $38 its unacceptable. In short, the setting is magnificent but thats all. Were going to put this down to opening failures but as it has already been open for 5 or 6 months I find it hard to believe.... if a drastic improvement does not occur it should be avoided.
The decor is incredible and very well put together. The wine list is lacking at the moment but they said they are in transition to a new list. Food wise, I took a salmon tartare but couldnt taste the salmon over the sauce. The duck was cooked beautifully and the accompanying mushroom mash was great. The price was reasonable, I will go again and taste different appetizers.
Lovely restaurant, fine dining! Unique dishes! Excellent service by Nikki and Veronique!
Food was great! Really good mocktail, too. Service was a bit disjointed and it was hard to find someone to get our bill, but it was a really nice café. Id definitely go again
I was amazed at the quality of the food here. I brought clients here and they were very impressed with the food, and place!
Just perfect.
The food was amazing, well cooked and served well. The service was amazing and we had a great time there. The ambience is very good too, some unique decor. They also have some vegetarian and vegan dishes. The smoked Oyster mushrooms had a unique flavor to it.
I just ordered a $30 burger to my room, a burger that isnt even worthy of a provincial burger. I took 2 bites and threw the rest away. Go eat in a restaurant near the hotel
One of the most beautiful restaurants in town. Superb service, hosts and servers are proactive and attentive to every question. The meal was plentiful, frankly a great experience.
Food was good/okay. Service was terrible. Food was slow to arrive with a total of 4 other people in the entire restaurant and no real evidence of lots of take out orders taking staff attention. When we expressed our frustration to the management after it remained slow following multiple reminders to staff, only then did it arrive (after 5 minutes). On departing and expressing our frustration for the service (for what is supposed to be a higher class restaurant), the waiter hovered over my elderly mother making me feel like he was intimidating her into giving him a tip (she was holding the payment screen at the tip screen). He did not move after I asked him to give us privacy. I cannot recommend this restaurant, especially considering that I got much better service and perhaps even food at the Tim Hortons down the street. Patron intimidation, whether intentional or not, is not acceptable.
We arrived there by chance for dinner, a great discovery. Service, cuisine and atmosphere: nothing to say. After reading the reviews on Google, I wanted to give my opinion: 1) Yes, it s annoying not to have the requested wines that are on the menu. However, sometimes they are not available, since COVID, it is sometimes complicated to have certain wines. (Im not necessarily talking about private importation.) (PS: Yes Im talking about the SAQ). 2) Comparing certain dishes to those of La Belle Province or Tim Hortons That s a no. 3) Read the menu correctly, for example it says: Roasted duck breast , it does not say WHOLE duck breast. In short: be lenient about the openings of restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. (THE WHOLE RESTAURANT WORLD IN THE END). It takes time to put a team in place, to find the right menu that corresponds to the establishment and so on PS: Especially if you dont have taste buds worthy of the name. PPS: Thank you Nikita
We had a great work Christmas dinner at Commodore.
Precious Vegetarian options: Yeah
