As a newcomer to Montreal, I craved an Iranian restaurant. Given the advertisements for this restaurant I had seen on Instagram, I decided to choose it. Upon entering, the restaurants atmosphere appeared stylish and tidy, but I found it odd that no one approached me to offer guidance. I was sitting alone while several people, presumably the restaurant owners, were engaged in a discussion. After a few minutes, one of the staff guided me to a corner of the restaurant, but I didn t feel comfortable. It took about twenty minutes for them to take my order. As a welcome gesture, they brought me a piece of dry bread that seemed to be warmed up but wasnt fresh. I ordered kebab koobideh, and after a long wait, they finally served my food. Unfortunately, the kebab was burnt and dry, with an unpleasant taste and smell that made it inedible. The rices tahdig was also burnt and mushy, not resembling genuine tahdig at all. The atmosphere felt so heavy that I couldn t bring myself to share my thoughts with the staff. After a long delay in processing my payment, I left the restaurant with a very disappointing experience and will never choose it again.

I recommend this Iranian restaurant, not only to people from Iran but also to anyone else. Everything was very good and I hope they can remove the quality of the food. I didnt have good memories of the famous Iranian restaurants I went to in Montreal. Freshly baked bread and cheese before the meal, I fainted for it. I really liked the food here, they have a good menu, the behavior of the staff was also good (for our table, Mehrsa was very friendly and polite), the playlist was also great... I felt like I went to Tehran. - Understand, with the same feeling and mood I hope it will be the same next time.

This is a perfect place if you want to try Iranian cuisines.

The best persian restaurant in town as of December 12th, 2024. We tried chenje and ghormeh sabzi and kebab Bonab and shank. We loved chenje! Great tast! Very well marinated and juicy! Doogh and must musir are great too! Strongly recommend this place.

Great service best kabab place I visit so far in Montreal love it

Diba was the very first Persian restaurant in Montreal which could meet our expectations. Location: Conveniently located at the corner of Somerled-Cavendish with available street parkings. Interior design is nice and cozy. Staff: Young, well-mannered individuals who were trying their best to serve the customers efficiently. Food: Tasty appetizers with freshly baked bread served on the side, tender and juicy kebabs. The only downside was the extremely greasy rice which was drenched in oil. This might have happened by accident though and hopefully will improve. Moreover, some main course options on the menu were a bit over-priced. Definitely recommend it and will go there another time.

Diba in Montreal was an amazing experience! We got the Platter 2 (chicken and kebab) and the flavors were outstanding! I ve also tried their Fesenjan and Gheimeh stews before, and they were just as good. The restaurant has a chic, clean, and welcoming atmosphere. The professional management made it even better. Very nice discovery for this restaurant new to the neighborhood! Impeccable service, smiling and discreet, the waitresses are at your service to bring you the best Iranian restaurant experience. Of course I recommend it, the chicken stew with pomegranate and walnuts was divine! Dietary restrictions: My boyfriend eats halal, it was perfect in an Iranian restaurant!

Diba Restaurant, at the corner of Cavendish and Somerled in Montreal, is a cozy new spot for authentic Persian cuisine. The freshly baked bread served at the start is a highlight, and the thoughtful touch of serving rice separately from the main dishes really enhances the flavors. I tried the Kabab Torsh and Chicken Breast both were delicious. With its great presentation and attention to detail, Diba is definitely worth a try. Parking: Check the sign for parking restrictions.

Excellent food, environment and service! They have great Persian welcome appetizer, I had their Soltani kabab, which was perfectly cooked, neither dry nor overly juicy. Their staff were very friendly and thoughtful. I recommend making a reservation if you plan to visit on weekends. The only downside might be the chairs, which arent as comfortable as expected (especially if you have back issues like I do).

So far, this has been the best Iranian restaurant I ve visited in Montreal in terms of interior design and food quality. The staff is professional, and the food is excellent. I hope they maintain this level of quality.

Best Persian food so delicious, fresh bread

I could not believe what I have experienced there. Zero hospitality and zero manner. They did not even bother to take our order. I waited for more than 1 hour till finally show up. Also, we reserved in advance but they didn t consider enough table and seat for the number of guests. It was unique experience I have seen a host try this much to make a meal this unpleasant.

Starting with good points, the food was okay, and the decor was nice, so I want to be fair about that. But the service! It was the worst I ve ever experienced. We had reserved a table for 10, and we arrived with nine people. After waiting 20 minutes, the server came and said, I should take your table; you said you were 10! She asked us to sit closely together so she could use our table. Trying to be considerate, we moved to two tables. Even after that, they didn t take our order, despite me asking twice. When we finally complained, the server just said, Sorry, I was hungry and was eating. I didn t need an excuse I needed good service or at least some form of compensation! They took our order around an hour after we arrived, and as soon as we finished eating, they said, We d appreciate it if you left, since the reservation is for 2 hours. I get it, but this time limit should apply when the service is normal, not when it takes an hour just to order. They apologized, but offered no compensation. It was the rudest behavior I ve experienced in a restaurant. I will NEVER return to this place. I ve never been treated so disrespectfully at a restaurant. It s a shame, because the potential was there, but this experience was beyond disappointing.

I hope the owner can hear me out . Having grown up in this city, I can assure you, financial wise, the Montreal community does not stand as tall as the ones in Toronto or Vancouver , this means your price tag should justify their wallet. For instance the side dish of Maast o Mooseer comes to $15 inc tax and gratuity !!!! Not justified Next , If you want to make a difference then ditch your koobideh machine and use hands instead. I found a couple of small bones in mine which it could be easily avoided if your staff used hands while skewering them. I let it go just because I believe incident can happen unless it becomes a norm. BTW, You definitely need to serve butter as a traditional side dish with any types of Kebab . About the place; People can easily forget a sublime ambiance but they never let go a below par food. to me, the food was good but TBH nothing extraordinary. You should persuade people to choose your restaurant over others. It took me a 30 minutes drive to dine at your place , I did , I tasted it but it was just another food. Will I come back again ? yes but hoping to see a difference this time. Bonne chance

Our hostess, Sarah, assist us well by our last minute reservation within the weekend and made excellent recommendations. The waitress was very attentive, fast and patient. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing evening out. It was a long time that Montreal missed a great restaurant like Diba to present Persian foods in quality. Considering the fresh ingredients and flavorful dishes, you really get more than what you pay for. We can t wait to go back .

I did not have a good experience at this restaurant, even though it has a nice and luxurious atmosphere. Overall, it was disappointing. The chenejeh kebab was really chewy, and the awful service we received made it even more unpleasant.

The food here was fire juicy and on point, exactly what I wanted. But the service definitely needs lots of work. First, they sat us at a big table, then kept moving us to smaller spaces, which made us feel like an afterthought. It would help if they just picked one right table for us and stuck with it unless there s a real reason to move. Service was really slow, and when we asked why, the waitress actually said, I wanted to eat my dinner, which felt unprofessional and strange. Staff could improve by just apologizing for delays in a standard way if they come up. Another issue was that they kept reminding us we had a two-hour time limit, even though it took nearly an hour just to get our order placed. If there s a time limit, they should aim to serve people quickly so everyone gets a full experience within that window. Right now, it feels like they re disorganized and not that focused on customer care. Even though the food was incredible, the lack of attentiveness and the overall disorganization really took away from the experience. It s a shame because with just a few improvements, their service could really match the quality of the food. I left the tip for the food, but hard thumbs down for the service...

I was excited to try this new Persian restaurant, but at the end of my visit, I was very disappointed in every aspect of it.

I visited Diba restaurant yesterday and had an enjoyable experience. The koobideh kabab was juicy and full of flavor, and the lamb shank was tender and very tasty. The service was attentive, and I liked the tasteful design of the restaurant. Definitely worth a visit for good Persian food!

A few days ago, we went to Diba restaurant with a group of friends and although it had a good atmosphere, we were not very satisfied Bringing the food very late and each of the ten dishes at a long distance from each other, so that my friends food got cold because they were waiting for our table to be completed! Second, we waited for a very long time to bring tea, but unfortunately, they put 3 teas on the table after ten minutes and then 7 more teas. No tea was brought with it, unlike other restaurants that bring candy or chocolate with it, and even a small gift under the glass! And in the end, the quality of the food was not good at all for that high price. I hope they can work on the quality of food and service more so that we can support them.

I recently visited an Iranian restaurant, and it was an amazing experience! The food was authentic and absolutely delicious, full of rich flavors and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. If you re looking for a taste of Persian cuisine, I highly recommend this place. I ll definitely be coming back!

We are really satisfied that we went to the Diba restaurant, there was a good atmosphere and a beautiful space, especially from their good employees and from Mrs. Mahsa who behaved with a lot of respect. Montreal needed such an Iranian restaurant

Had another amazing dinner at Diba restaurant tonight. Our waitress, Sara, was fantastic her professionalism and constant smile brought great energy to the evening. Despite the restaurant being busy with a wedding, the service was flawless, and the staff handled everything seamlessly. As always, the food was perfect. Highly recommend this place!

Great restaurant, with a great staff, specially Sara is so welcoming and served us very well, felt like we had a Persian dish in Iran.

Excellent food, great staff best choice

Diba has a beautiful design and cozy atmosphere that makes dining a pleasure. The food quality was excellent fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The only downside was the delay in getting our dishes, but the staff was kind and kept us updated. Overall, a great experience, and I d happily return!

This is the best persian restaurant I have ever tried in Montreal. Excellent ambiance, great service, excellent food, and cleanservice. I go for sure more in this restaurant.

The food was absolutely deoicious, and the service was very quick. The people who work there are extremely kind, and made our overall experience a pure delight! We will definitely be coming there again. A hidden gem!

If you re looking for the best Iranian restaurant in Montreal, this is the place! Their kebab is absolutely amazing so flavorful and cooked to perfection. The doogh and salad shirazi are just as impressive, super fresh and authentic. The restaurant s design is stunning, making it perfect for hosting guests or a nice dinner out. Plus, the staff are incredibly polite and attentive. Highly recommend!

Very good service and food

We were here last night, and it was just as amazing! The Kabab Torsh was by far the best we ve had in Montreal tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. We ve tried it at other places, but this one truly stands out. On top of that, the service was exceptional, especially the kind and welcoming waitress who made the experience even better. Highly recommended!
