Our friend made reservations for us to experience pizza and wine at its finest, and Elena did not disappoint! The dimly lit ambiance set the perfect mood, and the 90s playlist added a fun, nostalgic vibe. We savored every moment, from the drinks, wine, to the risotto, olives, pizza, pasta, and flan each dish was delightful. The star of the night? The *meatballs* absolutely phenomenal! Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us spot-on recommendations that elevated our dining experience. Elena is a must-visit for anyone in Montreal looking for a memorable meal. We ll definitely be back!

Literally perfect, the portions are awesome, the music was BUMPING, the food was to die for def recommending to anyone visiting Montreal WILL be coming back.

Excellent pizza and pleasant service!

Spent an enjoyable evening at Elena on a cold and blustery winter (not officially) evening. The ambiance was lively; a lot of happy patrons enjoying their meals and conversations, and my dining companion and I were soon to join them. All staff were convivial and friendly especially our server, Cynthia. She proved Indispensable in helping us select a wine from the unfamiliar names that appeared on the wine list. Most, if not all, were private importations from boutique wineries. Ours was really spot on with Cynthia s description. We decided to have two pizzas to share, Funguy, a play on fungi (mushroom), and the Diavalo, a spicier option. Both were delicious. The spicy oil provided made them even more so. We just ordered bread with olive oil to start as we were famished, and who doesn t need more carbs on a cheat day? It was quickly devoured. Cynthia told us everything was made in house from scratch, and it certainly was evident. For dessert we had cannolis and the olive oil cake. Again, two winners. We left at closing, but weren t the last to leave. Patrons really seemed to enjoy, not only the delicious food, but the warm and friendly ambience as well. Prices were reasonable, and service attentive. We ll certainly return, and often.

Amazing food and great service. The restaurant is very dark and the music is loud. Maybe I m just getting too old for that kind of atmosphere. But I would go back for the food!

We had high hopes for our dinner at Elena, but unfortunately, the experience left us disappointed. Despite having a 9 PM reservation for eight people, we were not seated until 9:45 PM. To make matters worse, we were placed at a table meant for six, making it an uncomfortable squeeze for our group. The restaurant offered olives on the house as compensation for the 45-minute wait, which felt inadequate given the circumstances. While the food may be well-regarded, the handling of our reservation left much to be desired. Not impressed and unlikely to return.

Wow the pizza here are amazing!!! Absolutely delicious

This is one of my most confused experiences ever. I genuinely do not know how I feel about this restaurant as I am writing about it right now. The food was delicious and the service was great. Very beautiful cutesy restaurant and nice atmosphere too. An absolute sweet girl treated us very well. I enjoyed the food so much, only to go home and throw up at 4 am in the morning. It was definitely the food, no stomach bug or anything else. So that s weird. Like I really wish I didn t get food poisoning, cuz it really was delicious? Here is where it starts going down south: the music was WAY too loud, and because of that the waitresses also had to scream to the costumers for them to hear which added up to the noise (I don t mean scream in a bad manner but in terms of decibels). I asked the very nice girl who was serving us to do something about it, and she apologized and said it wasn t possible. No blame on the girl tho she was an angel. But here s the punch line: we didn t know what wine we wanted to order and we were discussing that with our waitress. So she suggested do you wanna taste the wine before ordering it? And it seemed like a very reasonable thing to do so we did so. About a sip of wine only, so we can taste. and we were 2 people, we tried 2 different wines and ended up ordering 2 glasses of one of them we chose. And I m emphasizing: very very small sip of wine just to taste. Not even 1/3 or 1/4 of a glass. And guess what? We got charged for each time we tried, 5$. 20$ extra on our bill. Now hear me out i genuinely do not have a problem spending 20$ and i am not stingy. But that is just petty money. like what???? No one and i mean ABSOLUTELY no one told us we would get charged. and even if we were to be told, charging someone for a sip of wine is CRAZY. PETTY ON ANOTHER LEVEL. So here s a summary: the food was great and the service was great but next time try being classier and don t charge petty money on people. If you really need that extra 20$ on each of your bills just raise the price just don t be petty. Or if you absolutely think you shouldn t lose money on that extra sip of wine, inform me before charging me! Also way too loud and noisy. I also ended up getting food poisoning. Very disappointed and I mean VERY.

I loved everything the food was out of this world, I had emotions while eating the mafalda al ragù. 10/10 It was my first time and I was expecting a more casual decor, but I was pleasantly surprised, the restaurant is absolutely magnificent. The only small detail that would have brought the experience to the next level for me: I would have liked my utensils to be changed between services, especially when we eat good dishes with sauce like that. Otherwise everything else was perfect, I cant wait to go back!

I had a great time for my birthday dinner with a couple of friends. The polpette and the chocolate mousse were the main highlights for me, so delicious! The waitress was attentive and made sure to take care of any of my allergy concerns.

Pizza was yummy but quite small for $23! My Charcuterie platter was minuscule with extremely thin slices of salami,No Cheese,No olives.The Wine list starts at over $60 and as a napkin,I had to wipe my Mouth with a sandpaper textured Washcloth! Non Merci!

Great italian spot, perfect for a casual summer meal. We had the Danny pizza and the Kale ceasar, the ceasar was my highlight

What a great find! Our table shared different dishes. The pizza sauce was delicious! The red wine helped round off our meal and the strawberry cream dessert was light and the perfect sweetness. Outstanding restaurant with a well crafted menu thats built around a beautiful pizza oven and some Italian dishes with a modern twist. The natural wine was flowing in the vibrant dining room. Its a little loud, a tad cramped but also oddly cozy. The dishes are flying. Stacks of kale Caesar salads dusted with a mountain of grated Parmesan cheese are piling up at the pass. The fire in the oven is roaring as they crank out pizza after pizza. Elena has a loyal following and has been celebrated for years. Their cookbook won awards, and rightfully so. Food was delicious, including the kids options of buttered noodles. The Kale Caesar lived up to the hype as did the pizza which had a sourdough base and a bit of chew, but is light. All in all it was delightful and I cant wait to return.

Authentic delicious trattoria food just like in Italy, except there my bill would be 40 and here it is over $200.

Elan is a wonderful restaurant that has come highly recommended for some time now, and I m happy that it lives up to the hype. Great food with excellent service in a warm and comfy atmosphere. They easily make the best cannoli in Montreal, their pizza is great, and they have a good and diverse wine list. Their full bodied red called Pacina was absolutely spectacular! The Panzanella salad was also delicious, but unfortunately its croutons had an odd gummy texture. Nevertheless, we had a great time throughout our meal, but when we ordered dessert our cappuccino never arrived and so we had to cancel it. Needless to say, it s not fun to eat your dessert without coffee. Otherwise, Elena well worth the visit.

Pasta dish was really good, Kale salad too, but if you re known as a place for good pizza and the unseasoned tomato sauce on your Margherita ($28) overpowers everything and makes the pizza tastes kinda a** then you re doing sth wrong imo. On top of that the waiters messed up our orders 2 times. That can happen but if the prices are how they are at Elena then I d expect sth else.

Everything was good, but i found there was a bit too much of vinegar in the salads.

Its expensive but very good. At 2/3 the price it would be a classic. That means top-tier food, great service, and all the accoutrements. Theres expansive terrace outside, which was a gossent for us. Cocktails and mocktails were best so far in la ville aux milles clochers. The Elenagroni scratched my hitch for fernet (or did it only make it worse?) The issue is: $20 + 15% tax + 20% tip thats getting awfully close to $30 for a drink. Are we doing $30 drinks now? I dont know, maybe? But its 5 star material: the menu appears to be uniformly quality dishes, the décor is nice and fresh in the restaurant. Oh, and very well managed place. Service is super efficient. Tables are reset minutes (second) after you leave. There was a jar of chalks on the terrace, I didnt catch who took care of it but it got picked up and store at its place on a shelf. Really, the place gives the vibe that the team is very tight and well directed. Many people with a dream open a restaurant, here its obvious the managers are not dreamers but doers. This is the proverbial way of running a railroad.

Nice cozy place, nice service. Pizza was nice as well, I think someone oversold the place to me before going but still was a nice evening overall. Ah btw my wife had the Ragyu pasta and she said it was great. :)

Nice place, the food is good. I had high expectations going there for my birthday just after a trip to Italy, but I felt nostalgic and the reviews was good. It was a little less than I expected, not a bad place overall, but Montreal as better to offer, places with this little touch this place is missing. The service was A1

Never disappoints!

One of my favourite restaurants in the city. Their pizzas are so good and love the creativity of their toppings. Be sure to follow the seasonal ones they have. Their sides are also so good. Everything I ordered has been top notch. In the summer they also have an outdoor section to sit which is nice since it doesn t get too loud. So glad I found this gem. Definitely a restaurant I would keep going back to.

Everything was a 5 star. The only reason for a lower score of 3 stars for the atmosphere because we were a party of two and we got sat at a garden table and chairs and gravel on the ground which makes it an impossible set up. I would suggest to stop taking g reservations if you have to sit people on gravel. Everything else was amazing!!!

Stumbled upon this spot, the place was packed and buzzing on a weekday so I had high expectations the Cesar salad was great, tried a couple of pizzas: the quality is clearly excellent but the mix of toppings didn t make a lot of sense to me wasn t a big fan of the flavours; I would suggest to stick to classics.

Gorgeous food, gorgeous atmosphere, and friendly service! Weve been here twice now for special occasions and the food never disappoints. The homemade pastas, in particular, are lovely. The terrasse that backs onto a quiet alley, adding to the special feeling of the experience. Vegetarian options: A good variety of vegetarian options!

Best pizza in Montreal

It s a hidden gem in the suburbs of Montreal!! Everything we got was amazing.. kale Cesar salad, pasta and pizza!! I wish I could have eaten more but I was already so full.. haha! Service was also perfect.. we did not feel like it was too fast, but had ample time to enjoy our meals without the waitress rushing us. We sat outside, its cute. Personally because I m pregnant, I was hot. Next time will sit inside. I HIGHLY recommend this place. We enjoyed it so much we d like to come back again tomorrow!!

Delicious Pizza, great service and ambiance! We tried the M. Funguy,The rossa with Anchois, and a Marguerita pizza, along with a verde and kale cesar salad! (I would definetly recommend this kale cesar, soo delicious, and same for the M.Funguy, my favorite). Great food, service and atmosphere. Was able to get a table right away without a reservation on a weekday night. I had a good time, but it is pricy though. Spent $70 for 2.5 meatballs, a bowl of pasta, and a glass of wine. I don t know if I could personally justify going back any time soon.

Nice atmosphere, but very noisy. The sound bounces off the walls, I think, but thats not their fault. Good service, they are nice, hiring seems based on inclusive values, but they are all millennials/gen Z). I just hope its a coincidence and theres no ageism involved.

Food was delicious. Service was abysmal. First let me say that the food at this restaurant is outstanding. Really lovely dishes executed well. I made a reservation for 12 for my Best friends bachelorette weekend, and recut very kind very encouraging email back ensuring that they were extremely accommodating for dietary restrictions/preferences. As soon as we arrived I informed our waiter that we had one vegan in the group and if there was a way to accommodate her in the pre-fix menu courses. She said of course, no problem. Great! Dishes start to arrive, including a delicious ceasar salad and asparagus dish . Nothing has been modified. Ok . Maybe they re taking a while with the vegan options. Then the pizzas came, nothing. Our vegan friend had starting eating our crusts. Then the pasta dishes, at this point it s been an hour and a half since we sat down and our friend is starving. We politely asked our waiter several different times in between courses of the vegan fooos was coming, a salad dressed with a vinegary would suffice, and they kept saying yes yes., sorry. They sent out a complementary drink for the table to apologize, but it was half finger of Paloma or some batch chill, hardly anything. I finakky got up out of my seat and go over to the bar and say hi you know our friend still hasn t had anything to eat and she s very hungry, where is her meal? And the waitress said that it was her mistake, she d forgotten to put the orders in with the vegan modification, but she d make sure the meal was made right now. Right now? It had been hours and we d already prodded them three times. One of my friends even said I thought we were being annoying with how many times we asked about it! So then our friend FINALLY gets a bowl of pasta with red sauce. Everyone else has finished eating. She s like, hurrying to finish since they have a 2.5 hour limit for big groups. Then, insult to injury, I get the bill and the prefix menu has been charged for all 12 of us, including the vegan. I take a look and say, please remove her from this bill she didn t get to eat anything. And they agreed. But then they came Back and handed our friend HER OWN BILL??!! Charging her for a kid s menu $17 charge. I was floored. We had bought several bottles of wine everyone got at least one cocktail, the bill was well over $1000 and here they were trying to charge our poor friend for her pathetic meal. We insisted she not have to pay, but the waitress countered that she had comp ed some drinks for the table and wasn t that good enough? We were silent and in disbelief and the manager came over to ask what was wrong. We finally got them to drop her charge but OH MY GOD. I ve never felt more absolute disregard or a lack of care for a group. We were polite, spent a ton of money and the least they could have done was eat the $17 dollars. I think that if they re not plant based friendly, they need to own up to that fact. (Several reviews on here suggest that they ve treated other vegetarians and vegans similarly) or do better. Other restaurants email beforehand to gather any restrictions BEFORE the party even arrives so that everything goes smoothly. They should consider one of these two options.

Some of the best pizza dough I ve ever had. We ordered the pepperoni and the Dany (spiced honey and spinach), and it was the perfect balance. The kale Caesar is an absolute must order! Only slight negative was that the turquoise patio chairs weren t the most comfortable.

Beautiful experience for a prix fixe with a large group. Very good with dietary restrictions. Service was impeccable and everything served was both inventive and delicious. I didnt even realise their speciality was pizza until we were four courses in. No notes, perfect food, see ya next time!

I heard good things about Elena and I understand the hype now! We tried a lot of different kind of pizza and they were all very good. I generally prefer the ones with tomato sauce but I enjoyed trying different flavours. The pizza with the potatoes and the one with the mushrooms was nice to try. I didn t enjoy the 4 cheese one but that s just my preference. Their dough was the star of the show 10/10! It was delicious!

I did not enjoy my experience nor the food at this restaurant. We ordered the salads to start: Kale Caesar, the Verde and the Dante Kale Caesar was ok. Dante salad I strongly disliked. It was bland and far too peppery. I kept coughing after eating it. Verde: Astonishingly acidic. I needed a Tums after getting home to deal with the acid reflux from the dressing. Arancini was ok. I found the red sauce to be too sweet though. The meatballs were foul. They were tough, overcooked and way too salty! Like for gods sake, they tasted like my first attempt at meatballs when I was 15 and a terrible cook. The pasta was also a disappointment. Too salty and simple. I should never be able to look at a dish in a restaurant as expensive as this and say, I can do better. The mushroom pasta gets special mention for being particularly bad. The morels don t go as the only mushrooms in this dish. It really needed more. The morel were tasteless and didn t add anything to this dish. Overall, thoroughly mediocre food and way too overpriced. We will not be returning.

The place quickly became noisy. We were served in English even though we responded in French. Confusion over group menu. On the other hand, we paid attention to allergies, which was appreciated! Good for going with 2-3 people, I wouldnt recommend for groups. The $65 group option was a little expensive, but we had a lot of food (even too much!). We came in from out of town to check Elena out and were not disappointed. Food was amazing and well thought out. Recommend the house made (?) cheese where available, the kale Ceasar and of course the pizza. Service tipped the scales for us, though. As restaurant industry folks ourselves we appreciated Lucas recommendations, attentiveness, and thorough knowledge of the menu. The wine list is comprehensive, and Lucas truly knew the ins and outs. He also provided us with recommendations to best enjoy our visit to Montreal. 10/10

Heard a lot of good things about the pizza at this resto. We opted for the dany, the diavolo 2.0, the kale salad and gigli pasta. My favourite dishes were the Dany and the kale Caesar salad. The combination of the sweet honey and the chili oil was fantastic on the pizza. The kale Caesar was well executed and came in a pretty large portion. The service was also great! The pizza here is however comparable to a lot of other restos in Montreal. A bit more pricey but the quality is definitely there.

Honestly, the best appetizers I think I ve ever had at any restaurant, ever. Tried the fried cauliflower, arancini, and red peppers with bread. I could ve eaten just that for a meal. The Margherita and Diablo pizzas were delicious as well, and so was the pasta. Had a bit of gelato and an espresso afterwards, and the whole meal was only $65 (plus drinks). Crazy good value for eating out these days. Dietary restrictions: A colleague had a garlic intolerance, and they were able to accommodate him. Another had a gluten intolerance, and they could accommodate her as well.

Best pizza spot in town

Everything about our meal was soooo good. Fresh pasta, variety of brilliant pizzas, thoughtful cocktail menu, and the Kale Caesar is every bit as good as everyone says. A shining example of a kitchen that is preparing dishes with relatively simple ingredients but executing them at the highest level. Loved everything about our visit. Vegetarian options: Great selection of vegetarian options, not explicitly marked as such but easy to infer

Nice atmosphere and great service. The arancini was excellent. Ive had better pizza for cheaper in Montreal. Drinks are very expensive. Ragu was tasty as well.

Excellent cuisine, from starter to dessert. Good choice of wines and beers! The service was not up to standard however, quite hasty and not very welcoming.

Good atmosphere, soft and subdued lights, little noise. Delicious pizza and very good Italian style pizza dough. Very good canoli. Ill be back. Large selection of varied alcohol, very good service.

I rarely give places 5 stars. But everything at Elena s was great! The food was amazing, the service was great (very friendly staff) and a great overall ambience. Would definitely recommend

It is my fourth time coming to this restaurant. For 65$ you can feast on the best food of your life. The mushroom pizza is a must, so is the entree with the beets. The service is also incredible. I judge good service by wether or not my water ever gets empty. And it never does here. Someone will always be paying attention to your table making sure your glass is refilled. And this shows their care for your experience beyond judt water, of course. My favourite restaurant. Can t wait to come back.

Great service, great food!

We ate very well at Elenas and the service was good. We will return! The kale salad was excellent, my pasta was a little undercooked but the flavors were there!!

We came to eat yesterday for Valentines Day, good food but disappointing service. The dark-haired waitress with her bob cut who was taking care of us was haughty, cold and unpleasant with a lot of attitude, she made us feel so bad about ourselves. comfortable from the first contact. Every interaction with us made her feel like it was a chore. Luckily the rest of the staff were smiling and courteous.
