5570 Rue Jean-Talon E, Montréal, QC H1S 1L9, Canada
The staff was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious!! We had a birthday dinner there and the staff made sure everything was perfect :)
Mona give me a good service elle est très souriante she gives me a good service the food was very good
The good: awesome food The bad: horrible service zero customer service or hospitality Here are the details... Honestly some of the best Haitian food I have ever had. I love Griot and I have to say it was one of the best plates of griot I have ever tried. The only place that was better was a gourmet high end Haitian restaurant in Montreal at double the price. The rice was tasty and the salad was well dressed. The atmosphere is welcoming and quiet. The bad: the service is horrible. We had a gathering for a birthday party and when we asked for more water for the table they said they didn't have any more. They left empty plates, cups, forks etc on the table and we had to move them ourselves to the counter. One of us had old, refried plantains and when the staff were told, they were hard as a rock and could not be eaten they told us to give to someone else in our party to eat. the server didn't seem too interested in serving anyone (maybe she was shy?) and seems to be overwhelmed and not interested in catching up. They forgot one of our dinner orders and when we went to cut the cake they seemed confused when we told them we needed plates and forks for the cake (and we did ask if we were able to bring our own cake in advance). Really good food overall but definitely take it to go...
The flavor thier chicken is second to none. Wow! Reasonable prices, Great meal, fresh made juice. Must try for yourself.
I have no complaints, it was just wow. the food was good without forgetting the good presentation of the cashier.
Exceeded our expectations. We didn’t have the chance to dine in, arrived because there was a full house reservation on a Saturday, but the food was so good when we ordered on Uber eats we just ordered take out. The place has a cute aesthetic and genuine host/owners. The young server was very nice and allowed us to take our time to order. We will be back!
The food was DELICIOUS. Best diri kole at a restaurant I ever had. The fish was delicious, if you don’t like jerk though you may want to order something else. The griyo was moist and paired well with the spicy pikliz. I do wish the akra was the stick like version verses the round shape that they served.
One of the best Haitian cuisine in Montreal. They have a bar too, you can enjoy good Haitian cocktail
Food is officially good...clean
The food was excellent!!!
The guy called massil works well I want good continuation
Good service and long live the KABYLES
The lean play griot and mango juice were excellent. Nice little decor too. THANKS.
Excellent!!!! Cocktail drink and service!!!! Beautiful little restaurant, clean, very nice people, nice atmosphere... I recommend!!!!!
I ordered a griot dish on doordash. NOTHING bad to say. The food is really good. The griot is succulent, the rice is good, the banana is well cooked and crispy and the macaroni salad is also good. Bravo for the food
The meal was very delicious thank you for the service have a good evening
Good bagay!!!
Best Haitian restaurant
We ordered griot dishes. It was really delicious. Your dishes are made with love and it shows. THANKS!
Good thing
Mouna is very welcoming and very good service
Mounas service is excellent, always smiling, she always takes care of me, the food is very good, dont hesitate to visit epiceskay
Extremely disappointed
Best service especially for Mouna! Vegetarian options: N / A Parking: No Kid-friendliness: Yes absolutely
She offered me a great service thank you very much for your support service and for the good food
We are really satisfied!!! The food, the service, the music, everything :) We celebrated my mothers 60th birthday and the service was impeccable. Thanks to Mouna and Nassim. As a Haitian, I confirm that the cuisine is excellent.
Super nice concept of Haitian cuisine, clean, professional and super recommended mix Thanks to Mouna!!!!!
Very good service ESPECIALLY the young Arab helped me very much. Also, I really like the griot with stuck rice
My mother and I were walking around looking for a restaurant. We didnt know Creole beef well, but frankly it was more than a good guess... We tried the things in the seafood category and we were not disappointed. If you want to try a good drink, take famn kreole, excellent! I had to bring some back for my boyfriend because it was so good, even if I had been able to finish my plate there I decided to bring some back to enjoy it again when I got home. The place is charming, perfect for a little one-on-one date, if you like small places where theres no beef and the drinks are good, this place is for you!
First experience in a Haitian restaurant and I am pleasantly surprised. Very nice relaxed atmosphere, the griot and its accompaniments were excellent and good service from our waitress Sarah. I highly recommend!
While in Montreal, we had to try the best griot in town (according to Google Reviews) and we were not disappointed! Generous portion of rice and spicy Pikliz! I recommend it to fans of Haitian cuisine.
I have tried several Haitian restaurants and their griot is by far the best I have eaten! The rice is also very tasty and the pikliz is authentic, very fresh and very spicy!!! Two of my colleagues and I go there every Thursday lunchtime to enjoy a plate of griot with a good beer! Warm atmosphere, Creole music and excellent service. Strength to you.
The preparation of orders for delivery does not begin until well after the arrival of the delivery person. Prepare to wait a long time.
Vegetarian options: Rice and beans Plantain Akras(delicious!) Food : 4/5 |
I had a passion fruit juice which was passionate about SWEET a dish of Fritay Griot with extra griot and extra Accra for a total of $46.06....... NOTHING IS WORTH THIS AMOUNT. The greasy junk with a yark taste I had to throw away, the plantains stiff as a hockey paddle and the centerpiece the Griot.... TASTELESS WITHOUT SALT.. All this to say FORGET THIS PLACE WASTE OF MONEY GO TO MCDO
One of the best haitian food place in mtl
I go back again and again mainly for their rice. It s by far the best I ve eaten in Montreal, I m never disappointed. The kid is also pretty good.
I am a regular at Epiceskay and I wholeheartedly recommend it. The atmosphere is warm and the food is very good and in generous quantities. Prices are affordable.
Good bagay
Festive courteous and the food is good, fresh and pleasant to the taste
First time there then unfortunately I think the last... I ordered a dish and we only gave one plantain and the sauce barely enough for the dish frankly disappointed.... The macaroni salad had a smell of something expired and also in the taste, dry griot I had to throw away half at least....I should have kept my usual ones but I wanted to try a new place.... So I have to try to find out too bad...!
This restaurant makes the best stuck rice in town! Its taste is unique. All the dishes I had there were good and fresh. The employees are friendly and attentive to your requests.
We ordered the griot with Uber.. really good.. The rice is excellent..I also loved the macaroni salad. The griot is tender, Small negative point... if you want more griot and plantain... order extra... because its not the dish. There is only 1 plantain. And 6 pieces of griots
Great place, good food, good atmosphere, beautiful decor, good service, very affordable prices.
The food is very good, but here are three reasons why this restaurant is not my number 1 in Montreal: 1- Lack of choice: A Haitian restaurant that does not have rice sos pwa legum or ground corn or bouyon on Saturdays... yesnn 2- Chiktay: a small container for 20 dollars (which according to me should be between 12 and 15 dollars, I buy double what it gives in Laval for 23 dollars), when I bought it even the person at the cashier was surprised at the price. Note that 1 quarter of the bowl is just oil. 3-Corosol juice filled with ice in the end we have half a glass for 7.99
10/10 very sweet, worth the price, really delicious
Succulent and spicy food! Good service. Warm and friendly atmosphere! I will come back!!! I recommend.
A little hidden treasure in the St-Léonard district. The decor is charming and up to date. The waitress was very friendly and the food excellent.
Excellent food, clean restaurant and friendly service although there was an error in taking the order which meant that I had to wait 30 minutes. I recommend this Haitian restaurant
After trying dozens of Haitian restaurants in Montreal, I finally found the rare gem. Everything is excellent, the portions are generous and the ingredients are quality. I will eat it every day
Excellent Haitian food!!
Wow really disappointed last night. I ordered griot online and this is the first time since I have been a customer there that I found that the dish was not good. I really didnt like the griot. Everything was dry, the rice, the meat and the weighed bananas were way overcooked and it was really hard to eat. There wasnt enough sauce, the portion of pickles was very dry. There was really minimal sauce. So I took extra sauce and meat but even there wasnt enough with that to make the dish less dry. Not to mention the extra meat which was dry and tough too. Really surprised and disappointed. I really wanted to eat a good griot. In any case I have the impression that its not the same person who usually cooks. 01/03/2024.
I bought griot to take away, the price displayed was $14.75 They charged me $27.00!!! I asked why this difference, the lady replied its the price it was an ordinary dish. I wouldnt go back!
Safe address if you want to eat good Haitian cuisine. The dishes, the drinks, (Roboto, Grenadia juice), the service; everything is impeccable. This restaurant is a source of Haitian pride.
I went there with my boyfriend yesterday. The waitress barely spoke to us. There were TWO of us in the restaurant. When she came to bring our dish, I told her thank you and she said ok. She never came back to find out if everything was correct or if nothing was missing...we asked for more sauce, the conch was a little low in sauce, she replied nooo not possible. And left without saying anything. We asked to take the leftovers home, she said $1 per container. Is that correct? We asked for the bill, she just said its here but no one told us that we had to pay at the counter... The food was excellent though... Lots of weighed bananas to fill the stomach (3)... old trick to compensate for the reduction in plates. Next time it will be to bring. There is zero parking.
Clean place, food is good,
Im coming tomorrow to try
A real neighborhood gem! Impeccable service, exceptional cuisine with generous portions. Not to be missed!
Not professional
Lack of professionalism in customer service and care in meal preparation. By accumulating errors by the dozen, they are no longer errors, but willful incompetence! As far as Im concerned, Im never spending my money there again.
Epiceskay good bagay! The dishes are truly delicious and their taste does not vary from one day to the next. Kid-friendliness: Quiet setting
Very delicious, big portion and reasonable price. I recommend
Dietary restrictions: Balanced cuisine Parking: Alright
I dont like my experience its expensive for nothing I paid $32 wasted money I dont recommend, wasted money 4 small pieces of Tassot Cabrit it doesnt make sense Ill never buy from this place
Good quality/price relationship. If you are looking for a classic griot, here it is not the place. We will say that the food here is more elaborate and gourmet. On the other hand, if you want a date, this is the place. Good atmosphere, music, decoration
Top quality food! Impeccable service! Very comfortable and cozy
Wow! I traveled by delicious food! Excellent service and worth discovering! A must!!
Hidden gem, would absolutely recommend.
First and last I was asked to wait outside for some reason I don t know. Or maybe cause I was not wearing a suit.
Charming Haitian restaurant. Excellent cuisine and unparalleled service.
Lovely people
Best meal in its category. Flavors and taste to match. The meat is always well cooked without being burnt or too tough.
Their food is good but their customer service is absolute awful.
The chicken dish is excellent! The rice and macarroni are very tasty and complement the meat very well.
Is there a lunch special always from noon to 3pm Tuesday Wednesday Thursday? ? ?
Very good cooking!!! The staff is very courteous. I recommend the acras (10/10)
Fantastic authentic Haitian cuisine. The fresh mango juice is on point as well
Great atmosphere, more than reasonable price, impeccable service (super welcoming and warm). Come, its exceptional.
Delicious, I really enjoyed everything.
Unbelievable, as if I were my country
Best Haitian Restaurant in Montreal, friendly staff, great presentation. The place is just awesome. The Food is on another level, of delicious. Kid-friendliness: Swings inside
Literally the best Haitian food I have had in Canada. Amazing, clean, well organized and quick service. Will recommend to my friends in Montreal and will definitely be back when we visit.
We were served like queens by the owners. The food is extremely good 10/10!! A family restaurant based on great values. Thank you for your excellent service, you are the pride of Haiti.
All Good
The food here is amazing !!! Im from Brooklyn NY, and I could tell you, this Haitian restaurant food is delicious . It was sooo good, I came back twice!! Manager is mad cool .
We were supposed to go to another Haitian restaurant but went to this instead because it had better reviews. The the reviews were spot on, the food is amazing reminds me of home (Haiti). The atmosphere is prefect, very clean. Service was amazing, felt like family. We went with a large group of 12 with 4 babies and they accommodated for everyone. Go now !!!!
Awesome food with excellent service
Delicious find! The cooking of the meat is divine! The staff is super nice and the place is very cute. We live on the other side of town, but well definitely go back
I love the food respectful people and always humble workers and care about their customers
One of the best Haitian cuisine restaurants in Montreal.
Great discovery! wow delicious and fresh and the staff is super nice and the place is very cute.
I had dinner with my friend. The interior of the restaurant was elegant and clean. I ordered a plate of chicken which turned out to be colorful and appetizing. The bowl was overflowing with rice, along with my favorite seasoning. The chicken was tender with a moderate touch of spice, and the vegetable soup was delicious. I appreciated the friendly service, especially from the female staff. I plan to go back.
Superb cuisine, tasty dishes every time you visit. Generous quantities. Good value for money. I highly recommend!
We picked up food tonight at 9:30 pm right before closing. The service was great! Food was impeccable. Thank you! First and definitely not the last time.
Very good address and excellent cuisine!!!
3 hours of driving to taste this delight, thank you for the welcome, thank you for answering my questions about your entrepreneurship journey and thank you for your advice. (The cancer girl)
If you want us to take care of your need for Caribbean food, there is no other Vegetarian options: You can order spicy salads with plantain... Kid-friendliness: Children will love it in every way
When I was offered to eat in this restaurant, I was skeptical because I was often disappointed by the customer service or the quality of the Haitian dishes in the restaurant. Finally, after trying it, I can say that I am satisfied. The customer service was impeccable, the ambiance was nice, the decor was very beautiful, the place was clean, the food and quantity was good (not too salty or too greasy) and their passion fruit juice was excellent . I will go back there without any problem and I highly recommend this restaurant if you want a good, typically Haitian dish. 10/10
Good bagay
Wonderful !! Everything is amazing.
Very good very tender
A beautiful exhibition. Good atmosphere. Impeccable customer service
This ain t no fast Food , this is a restaurant food made with love type of food your grand ma would cook for you ! the best you ll get In the area for sure oh wow really impressed going bac there for sure !
I love going there to eat with my little family, wow what a delight! My husband loves it so much
The rice was delicious! Wish it came in a bigger portion but everything was perfect ! My family and i enjoyed it :) .
I this restaurants is one of the best in montreal. Its clean good food Friendly stuff ....When eat thete U never wanna leave and I always take what ever I cant eat.
I order it almost every day, now even my daughters buy it very very good and super welcoming and friendly staff. I highly recommend it.
Conch ordered but delivered without conch, well done champions.
Poor customer service, dry griot, the price is correct and only the macaroni is good. He is the best griot in Saint-Léonard. But apart from that, dont set foot there... THIS PLACE ITS NOT WORTH YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
I strongly recommend this restaurant. The food is really delicious. There is an acra wololoy!!!!!!
Poor value for money. The plantain was brown.
GOOD
Food is good, nice decoration, waitress was nice. In terms of service it was not bad.
Excellent!!!
Very good food. Very nice owner! Impeccable service.
The cocktails are always good! And I really liked my chicken dish: it was well seasoned and the rice was perfect Only problem: the service was a little long (we were a group of 4)
I loved it. The meal was delicious.
I highly recommend! The customer service, the food, the dining room. Except they should change the sauce portion. Otherwise, Im going back! Love it
Nice
Little detour to tickle my taste buds Home// Value for money portion // Im not a fan of Acra, well this place is worth the detour /5 at Epiceskay.
Original decor, warm welcome, delicious meals.
Great taste and quaint restaurant! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Montreal!
My friend and I were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful atmosphere, the presentation of the dishes and the attention of the staff. Excellent customer service! We will definitely come back!
I second what my friend Belle wrote.
Good place to experience Haitian food. Its really good
But what a nice pleasant surprise, tasty, fresh food and generous portion. We had the chicken and griot meal and it was a real treat. Next time Ill have a little extra sauce and an extra pikliz because Im a real fan!
Nice, clean, well lit place. Le mangé è gou. Le service est chaleureux. Kid-friendliness: I was greeted with a smile from the moment I walked through the door. The staff very courteous and helpful. I even enjoyed a nice conversation with the owner while i waited for my ordet. He is very wise and Zen.
Succulent!!!!
Class and excellence the best Haitian in town
The food is excellent, the lady who served me was very friendly. Very nice restaurant. THANK YOU for the good service.
Best place to eat nice haitien food Clean and beautiful place Food
Very good food. We were a group of eight. We were served at the same time and the food was very hot. I had the taso fritay, the meat was tender. The pomegranate juice is perfect. Im going back, thats for sure!
So the epiceskay is the best Haitian restaurant in Montreal, their Shakabana is crazy!! Very clean place, generous dish, fast service, whether in the dining room or ordering you dont even see the difference, go take a look there, you wont regret it, Lalas word
Honestly the food is delicious. The presentation nothing to say.
Best griot in the world and their chicken is excellent. Finally a restaurant that offers real, tender pieces of meat that are well seasoned and not small, dry, flavorless pieces. I highly recommend it, they are super friendly too
I like it for a first, the girls are very welcoming and courteous, very attentive.
The best chicken in town!!!
Courteous service. The dishes are exquisite. The food is quality.
Good service and excellent food! I recommend.
First time I experienced such a great traditional Haitian restaurant. Ive been living in the Caribbean before but have never had such delicious food.
Very nice discovery. I saw their advert on Facebook and went to pay them a quick visit this afternoon. I dont regret it so much. If like me you have nostalgia for the best beer in the world: Prestige, and also for good Haitian cuisine, this is the place to visit. I enjoyed the best tassot de cabrit there, the one that tastes exactly like lakay .
Honestly the food is very good but seriously the price is a bit excessive (almost $15) for such a small portion. I think its a shame because for 1 or 2$ more you can have double whats in the dish in other places
Before the pandemic the service was impeccable, there was atmosphere, music. I returned this Friday, the place is beautiful since they have renovated but the customer service is really not there and no background music. If you go there to eat there, bad idea, he is more concerned about the orders to be delivered
I ordered a fritay dish as well as some papitas. The meat was stiff and having tasted Chef Leeds papitas, I can confirm that they did not seem to have been made by her. As someone who was ordering there for the first time I don t think I ll go back there.
Good griot, a little too much fat though! Good stuck rice, pikliz and plantain very tasty!
Appetizing food and clean place *Creole food*
Everything tastes so good! Wow
First and last time. Ordered Cabrit - mostly bones and fat, barely any meat + the rice has a weird after taste + they give you a miniature sauce. The acras obviously had morue in it which they do not announce. Asked and paid for an extra sauce which we did not get. Unfortunately will not be returning - very disappointing as this resto had great reviews
Very fast when you place an order. I highly recommend.
We were pampered. Its a very beautiful place.
Very good restaurant haïtien !
Excellent restaurant. Warm service. Authentic food!!
Tasty griot and rice, portion of the meal was small as well as the serving of sauce. The meal came with a mix of lettuce and a couple of pieces of tomato with quite a sweet vinaigrette and one piece of fried plantain. One big down side is the inaccurate time that was giving on the phone for us to pick-up the meal, we were told 15ish minutes but it took over 30 almost 40 mins to receive our order for take out. The food itself is amazing and hands down one of the most flavorful griots in the area.
testing it, is adopting it
Ordered yesterday and it was the second best plate of griot i ever had. So flavorful... not dry... fresh. My only complaint would be the lac of utensils with my order... every order should at least have a gork anf a napkin. The sauce...there is too little of it. Besides that... it was very good.
We love to order from this creole restaurant. The food is always fresh and tasteful! The delivery is also done within a decent delay.
First time here, I took a grio to go and the order was ready very quickly! The food was excellent and the staff very welcoming. I highly recommend.
Fast, courteous service as well as a good portion and beautiful presentation
This is one of the best haitian restaurants that I have tasted in Montreal, definitely in my top 3. The staff is courteous and the food is great, I recommend their griot. Also their rice is the best stand alone rice period.
For the first time it was delicious, the griot is well seasoned and the chicken has a little charcoal taste like I like in Accra oh yum... Im going back, thats for sure!
Not much choice only brown rice, except that I was looking for white rice + pea puree. No vegetables. In any case, I dont think its the best Haitian cuisine. The broth was meatless with a large bone
The best place for your food!! Weve been going there since it opened and have always had excellent service and quality food! Thank you so much for your wonderful business!
Grilled fish Good bagay
The food is Haitian and delicious. The presentation is very laid back, served in baskets. I dont mind that a bit. I got the goat, which is not normally my favorite meat, but IT WAS EXCELLENT! My husband got the chicken and he loved it also. I would like to eat there again. Service was friendly, warm, inviting and thorough! I sincerely feel everything was prepared with love.
Very good food!!!
Courtesy, kindness good food
Enjoyed loved it delicious
Good welcome.
Impeccable service
for the service there is a very friendly, courteous waitress, very good service. The food is very good thats why I give 5 stars thank you
Food is excellent.
Tasty tasty
Nice staff. Cozy place. Good Haitian food, specially their akra.
Great food, fresh, light, tasty!!! Amazing staff that takes time to present to you their menu and specialities!!!
Outstanding service, quality food and products always prepared with love and quite quickly. Only positives for this restaurant that I recommend to everyone.
