Cute place with portrait drawings of famous French Canadians on the walls. We had the liver pate, special duck of the day, and the squash risotto. While food here was great, we thought the portions were quite small and the wait time was far too long. We waited maybe 30 minutes for the mains to come out.
Super delicious and tasty brunch spot! I absolutely loved the Foiegwa Slam that had fluffy ricotta blueberry pancakes with creamy maple butter. We also had the Croque Madame which was also so good! So worth coming to visit!!! I would totally come back :)
Came here with five people, got a great both, we don’t speak any French and the service was phenomenal. The drinks were fantastic - we had cappuccino, espresso martini and had mimosa for the table. The food was unbelievable, we had a few different eggs Benedict, croque madame and chicken and waffles. The truffle hollandaise is to die for, and the fois gras torchon was perfect. The vibes here are also very cool, and everyone in your party has to be over 18 to dine.
We ordered one of their most famous dishes which is the truffle cream pasta. The dish was flavorful and well-prepared, but the portion size was rather small, especially given the higher price point. On the bright side, the service was pleasant and attentive. Additionally, their cocktails were a highlight—there were plenty of options, and the ones we tried were excellent. ( Europe trip) Overall, it’s a good spot for a flavorful meal and great drinks, though a bit on the expensive side for the portions served.
Mouthwatering, delicious must try the truffle fries , spaghetti is amazing , espresso drinks are pretty good, nice latte art, went for opening on a Friday for brunch walk in only got amazing food and service. Would definitely recommend.
Great vibes, great food, great service. We went for a bit of a celebratory dinner and definitely was not cheap but worth the cost. Shrimp cocktail was good. The Cesar salad was perfectly dressed. The beef tartare was truly something else - covered in cheese is a nice touch. Don’t miss the dill cucumber salad either. Memorable dinner.
Came a few months ago for brunch on a long weekend. We were worried there would be a long wait, but luckily we came at a good time and got a table right away. We ordered: Pancakes👌 Chicken & Waffles 💕 The first pancake dish served was actually undercooked and still raw in the middle, so they quickly replaced a new order for us and it was perfect 👌 thick and fluffy with maple butter. The chicken and waffles are definitely one of my favourites the chicken was so juicy and the crispy skin was well spiced. Waffles were nothing special but still good.
Here's a long overdue review for Foiegwa! I've been coming here for the past two years, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently great, and on the rare occasion it's not up to expectations they're quick to make things right. But what really sets Foiegwa apart is the service. Everyone is so accommodating and friendly, even when it's super busy. Sandrine, in particular is an absolute gem. She's always got a huge smile on her face, whether it's the middle of July or a blizzard outside. Every time I walk in, no matter my mood I always leave feeling better ☺️ Here are just a few photos of the amazing food from the past couple of years as you can see they always keep a very high standard. A big thanks to the entire brunch team for making every visit so enjoyable ❤️
Tartare beef was delicious came with fries, risotto was okay, gravlax presentation was lacking taste average. It was very busy make sure to make a reservation, restaurant is pretty cramped , service was friendly
I ve been coming here for years and i m usually always happy but last night was a real shame. We were rushed through our entire dinner service and not one waiter came to check-in on us during the main course. I always take the spaghetti which is usually a 1000/10, but it was cold when served. When the waitress came to ask for dessert she told us we had 10 minutes left to order coffee and desserts. She also proceeded to show us the people waiting for our table. I m sorry, but do better at organizing your tables. Don t guilt trip your current customers out. We were enjoying our drinks and food and we really would ve wanted the coffee/dessert before we left. It s a shame because I loved this place, but that experience left me not wanting to come back.
Pretty good!
Came in on a busy night, one of the staff told us we cant get a table... And said nothing else. No reservations later in the night or another day. No options, nothing. Then proceeds to attend to the next group of people behind us. Ridiculous accommodation by this woman. We did end up coming back the next night, found the food underwhelmingly different to what we saw on other reviews.
Very good experience. I loved the croissant Benedict with truffle. The foie Gras was also delicious. Service was attentive and welcoming. Right next to an amazing market! Will be back.
Very good restaurant for brunch. The cuisine is simple and thats what we ask for. The servers are attentive, the dishes are mastered and the prices are reasonable. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice with an old school theme. I recommend this place! Vegetarian options: Eggs and omelettes
Still one of my all time favorite restaurants in Montreal. The service is fantastic, the food is sublime and the cocktails are brilliant.
The place is tiny. I arrived to get a table for 2, at the door the person who greeted me, said he could only sit complete groups, so I had to step outside because the place is tiny. My friend arrived less than 3 minutes later and we went inside and had brunch. The food was uneventful for both of us. It is almost impossible to walk or move inside. All the tables are so close to each other. Theres only one single toilet which, by the way, has a space bigger than the space we were sitting in... and in a tiny place, you have to make a line to go in... The service was very good, though.
2024 dine in: cute decor, attentive and efficient service, the risotto was cheesey and delicious, the truffle oil spaghetti was still great. We found our cocktails a little generic though. 2021 Delivery: truffle oil pasta, pâté, and brownie were all great.
Very cute European vibes. Only downside is how small and compact the restaurant is. The late night menu is definitely worth the price.
Great atmosphere, good service! Food Ok, nothing more, honestly...
Amazing food , best beef tartare Ive ever ate ! Great service and amazing wine selection Food
The smash burger barely had any meat in it. Its a shame how there menu degraded this much
Smashed burger and bechamel fries tasted bad and made me sick.
Super good, perfect quality
Good experience; food was good and service was fast.
If I could put a 0 I would. The staff is horrible, they re not friendly and nice.
I recommend this if you want to eat cold, chewy waffles that are already made. Can you tell from my pancake pictures? They are so dry that they look like they were baked yesterday and not even reheated.
Amazing place. I am not disappointed! They let us order the tasting menu for just 1 guest which gave my mom the opportunity to order another dish for us to try and share. This business is ethical and mindful of their guests and we were taken care of by all staff member. I believe this venue pools their tips amongst staff members because it was obvious that all of them paid attention to each guest and would help each other out to look after guests and I appreciate that. We can feel it through the attentive care and quality of service. The bill came out at $75 for 2 people who ate until near explosion. This was a very very worthy meal. We tried the chicken liver mousse, foie gras au torchon, truffle spaghetti and the escargots. Escargots could use a bit more flavour. The other dishes were amazing. Jeremy and Sarah provided amazing service, so thank you. Will be back again!
Ive been to Foiegwa before for a lovely brunch and so had high expectations - was disappointed tonight. The server first tried to put us at a tiny wee table mid aisle with awkward wooden chairs - too small for me and my son is 6ft tall - when it was almost empty. I asked to sit by the window along the padded bench which was completely open with 6 sets of free tables, and she said yes - odd that she sat us at the worst table. Still, friendly & brisk staff (8/10). I actually liked that one of the servers spoke exclusively French even though I was replying in English. Went for MTL a table which is great to try out menu sets - it helps me decide restos to visit for the rest of the year. My shrimp cocktail was 5 defrosted shrimp, served with minced greens/onions on top of Ketchup, ick - Id expected a cocktail or rosemarie sauce (2/10). My teens mushroom soup was delicious, nicely plated and the best thing we tried (8/10). The scallop risotto was creamy but only three scallops (about the size of a quarter) (6/10). I had the tiny half cornish hen topped with green beans, swimming in broth, but it was very dry (4/10). Had to ask for a spoon for the broth. My chocolate mousse was grainy, served in a wee ramekin with a thick hard almond cookie lid that was def not a tuile (2/10). The lovely server exchanged it for the panna cotta, topped with sweetened berries (thawed, not fresh) and a crunchy granola (7/10). As other reviewers have pointed out, portion sizes are small, and my teen left hungry. Based on this meal I would not go back for dinner, though I think itd be fine for a glass of wine as I like the atmosphere and staff is attentive.
Nothing to say, excellent value for money. The mushroom velouté is excellent, the spagh with truffles perfect ...
Great experience, food was 10/10 and really nice ambiance. Service was top as well, will recommend.
Food was yummy, service ok. They still force to use my phone for menu. P.S. response. You saving paper, is like hotels acting like they care about the environment by asking to reuse towels. When you go to a fancy restaurant, mean that you want to avoid the phone.
Nothing to complain about for this place we went there for mtl à table, one of the best at the moment. The only downside is the reservation time for mtl at the table which seems a little late
An excellent spot near Atwater!
Nice spot. Good vibes and tasty pasta
The dishes were delicious and the service provided by Anne was exceptional!
Loveddddd their Mtl a table menu. Ate the mushroom entree and truffle spaghetti woth chocolate mousse for dessert. Highly recommend all 3! Their mocktail was exactly what i wanted. Sugary enough with bubbles! Super friendly staff, great experience
Just incredible and the service was perfect. I also loved the speakeasy right next door! We loved it.
went for montreal a table. very nice ambiance and decor, the staff was also nice, but nothing exceptional. the food was great, arrived quite fast
The food always good but we should think about diversifying the evening menu after 9 p.m.... in 3 months we went there 3 times and it hasnt changed at all, not even a small variation on the dessert or the starters... we will come back when there is something new. And also be careful, its impossible to reach you by phone... its annoying when you want to cancel/modify a reservation and you have our credit card as guarantee
Nice little restaurant, I love the deco. Our waitress is so nice and helpful. They got a late night menu with the price of 25 and 50 for 3 course meal. Sure Ill go again.
waited 2+ hours just to get my food and they tasted very bland, service was bad no one served us, never going back.
The food is a bit mid. Our server took our order and never check in afterwards. Had to try to call her over 10times before she even glanced at us. Place is soooo packed but no a/c so it s so hot. One bathroom and the line is huge.
Good brunch and late night eats. Conveniently placed next to Atwater cocktail club. Sometimes a wait to get it but worth it. Milkshake and fries available too :)
I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with my visit! The food was delicious, the portions were good and the service was just wow! The atmosphere is magnificent and pleasant. The decoration is very pretty and a little retro. I highly recommend!
Beautiful evening - welcoming atmosphere, tasty food, attentive service! What more could you ask for! I loved the risotto! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary with friends and the waitress offered us a digestive after dessert and even toasted with us! Little touch that we will remember!
This place is overrated. We went there for the 3 courses for 25$ and the food portions were not only very small, but it was also very mid. We were excited about the truffle spaghetti and honestly the pasta tasted like the buldack carbonara one. It tasted cheap and not worth the price. Its a very small place, very crowded but it has a charm, sadly not as amazing as it was advertised on TikTok. :( Im glad we had the chicken liver. It saved the night.
The food is phenomenal. I m writing this review whilst still sitting in the restaurant, having booked to return tomorrow night also. We had the cod fritters, braised beef, spaghetti and chocolate mousse. All incredible! The best meal we have had in canada. A must for anyone in or visiting Montreal. Food
Quite disappointed overall, both with the presentation of the dishes and the taste. The duck was dry, the Hollandaise sauce tasteless etc. My expectations were significantly higher. However, we had good service and appreciated the intimacy of the restaurant.
Superb atmosphere and extraordinary service with Isabelle :)
* Cute little place, great vibe. * Service is super-friendly, but somewhat chaotic and disorganized. * Food is a hit or miss: Some dishes superb (the braised beef was heavenly), and some very mediocre and subpar (the Foie Gras pasta was starchy and hugely undercooked, the Crêpes Suzette was crude and drenched in Cointreau).
Not much to say, food was excellent (typical French food), service in English or French was perfect, neither too much or too little attention, able to enjoy the meal in peace. Too bad we were too full to try deserts... a bit on the pricier side but definitely worth it
Good ambiance and service. Food is usually good, but the $25 menu is disappointing. Burger was incredibly salty and dry.
Extremely tight space
We were recommended this restaurant from a coworker for our girls weekend away. From the very start the staff were 10 out of 10! Very kind, professional and got us a great spot. The vibe in the small Cafe was so lovely woth great pictures and music. The drinks were amazing! Great selection of alcohol beverages and BEST part.... no children. This explained the high end experience and flavor in the food. The chef was accommodating for changes to the menu. The truffle eggs Benedict, duck confit egg Benedict and chicken and waffles were insane! Cant recommend this location enough. We went at 1030am and had no problem getting a table for 5 though it was full but when we left, the entire corner sidewalk was filled with waiting people. No reservations.
I went to this restaurant recently, and although the food was excellent, the overall experience was disappointing. The tables are extremely close together, which creates a stuffy atmosphere and makes conversation difficult due to the high noise. Unfortunately, the service was equally disappointing. The blonde waitress was cold and unwelcoming, clearly not comfortable with customer service. Despite the quality of the dishes, I will not return due to the unpleasant atmosphere and poor service. Its a real shame, because the potential is there, but the overall experience doesnt warrant another visit.
Loud noise place, everyone sit quite tight. No service at all. Awful Steak quality not good meat. Truffle Spaghetti was not real truffle I have to say.
Delightful restaurant! Overall: 4.5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Truffle Pasta - 4.5/5 - I loved the flavours of the pasta and the egg was an awesome touch. Flavourful but not too strong or oily, was just right! Braised Beef - 4.5/5 - one of the softest beets I ve ever eaten! It was so tasty and tender and both my friend and I really enjoyed it. Atmosphere - 5/5 loved the quaint look, the restaurant had so much character wasn t just a typical restaurant. Service: 5/5 - everyone was friendly and helpful!
This place has very tasty and good looking food, it is a must visit 10/10. I will be coming back to try the other items in the menu :) Food : 5/5
Avoid what we ordered. I ordered the blue berry pancakes (13.50) and a strawberry late (7.50$). When i first ordered the strawberry latte i was told it was a best seller so i was expecting the latte to taste like that- strawberries. It simply tasted like a latte. When they replaced my latte (threw out their mistake in the back) it still only tasted a small amount of strawberry flavour for the first few sips. The waitress told me it was only supposed to be slight taste after their correction came back.. which is really disappointing because its literally 7.50. Very skimpy on the fruits which continues with the pancakes. They do not taste like blue berry pancakes. You barely taste them- like at all. not to mention the pancakes tasted very bland. The sauce that came with it was great though. My friend has also ordered a vanilla latte and maybe we had terrible luck but it did not taste an inch like vanilla. Even after they came back with the drink after having added some, didnt have any vanilla flavour. Besides this- service was good and fast, we had good seating. Not too loud, and didnt have to wait to get our table. I understand the economy is wild right now but dont skimp out on the fruit guys, it sucks and it feels like a rip off.
One of the best French restaurants in Montreal!
I wish I could give them 5 stars, but I never got the chance to actually sit at this establishment. The moment we walked in, they said no, we are fully booked. Even though the restaurant was empty. We went back just for a drink, they said no, the bar is closed. Even though people were still sitting at the bar. They are definitely racist against brown people. Its very sad. Its 2024. Came all the way from Toronto just to be disrespected. Wow.
It s not my first visit, love to dine there. It was my first brunch. What was ordered: shashuka, grand slam and pancakes. It was ok but not great! The bacon eggs and potatoes are the same quality than when we used to go to a chain breakfast place. I was expecting these ingredients to be refined. Good coffee, excellent service and good vibes. I will probably go back and try something different. It s always packed but good thing we went early.
Very noisy place for brunch. Everyone was sit tightly, everyone was looking for service but its a mess. The brunch portion we had were very small, not worth the price at all. Btw, coffee was good but it came with a dirty mug.
Server François was very courteous and professional, had great humour. Loved the service here, when we found that a dish we ordered wasn t something we expected there was no problems in sending it back and having another one! Wow!! Food : 5/5
I arrived earlier to be attended properly, the girl with the tattoos took my order and made me wait for one hour for my food, which didn t arrive the coffee arrived 30 minutes after I ordered it. The people who arrived after me where served first, at the very end when I approached to asked what happened they just say bye bye; I don t know if it was because I wasn t from Montreal because, I spoke English or because of racial thing
Everything was perfect! Excellent service, nearby street parking, delicious food and friendly atmosphere. We recommend 100%!
This review is mostly targeted at the late night pre-fixe menu ($25 for three-course with options, INSANE value) which is very tasty. Come with a friend and try everything, you wont be disappointed! Note, brunch is also great. Make sure to get a reservation.
We had an incredible evening at Foiegwa! The service was very attentive, the late-night menu is a brilliant (and affordable) idea that will definitely have us coming back more often, and the venue is cozy and lovely (if noisy). I cant wait to go back!
A restaurant with a classic space, imbued with European style and the diverse and sophisticated flavors of French cuisine. My sister and I chose the following dishes: Beef Tartare (appetizer) ~ $21.75 Escargot (appetizer) ~ $15.50 Truffle Pasta (main) ~ $28.75 Truffle Fries (sides) ~ $9.25 Escargot was truly a pleasant surprise the delicate flavor made me remember it forever after enjoying this legendary dish from a thousand years ago. According to my research, this type of snail is a specialty on the menu of Portugal or the Catalan region in Spain. However, in France, snails have just developed and become a very popular dish. Snail shells have also been found at Volubilis, an archaeological site in Morocco. From there, people have learned about the origin of this snail species. Accordingly, snails have been on the menu in France as well as other countries since the Romans brought them as a favorite snack 2000 years ago. Snails have been a food since ancient Rome, gradually becoming popular over time and existing and developing until today. After spreading to France, they became popular, especially snail dishes originating from the Burgundy region. On the other hand, beef tartare is not to my and my sister s taste. It seems that my sister and I are not used to enjoying completely raw beef, but are more suitable for seafood tartares such as salmon or tuna. Anyway, this is a quite unique dish, you can try it to see if it suits your taste. About Foiegwa s famous handmade truffle pasta, I was impressed with the natural flavor of the mushrooms combined with the rich cooking cream to create a smooth, attractive texture. The highlight is the truffle paste a classy spice that brings a distinctive and passionate aroma. The price does not include 15% VAT and 25% tip. The total bill is nearly $110 for 2 people, which is too cheap for me a delicious French restaurant, suitable for casual dining; at this price range, I believe that Foiegwa is absolutely a great choice.
Better than Bouillon Bilk, at least in my opinion. This place scored higher on both quality and value. The foie gras was generous and delicious, the truffle pasta could easily compete with what youd find in the markets of Florence, and the scallop risotto was spot on. The staff provided exceptional service. Thanks Sara!
Excellent restaurant. Ideal in the evening because there is a $25 3-course formula. Delicious and quick.
Walked in without a reservation so we sat at the bar. Great to watch the bartender making drinks. Loved my scallop risotto dish and the cider they had on tap. Excellent accommodating wait staff!
Very disappointed. The waitresses a girl with tattoos on her arms was very rude. We arrived early 9:30 am. We ordered regular coffee and it took half an hour to serve us because she forgot, then it took another half hour and our food did not arrive. We waited and asked the waitress and she only said she was going to check what was going on, meanwhile the people who arrived after us were served first. In the end we left without eating and they just said bye. Zero courtesy.
Very good restaurant, but since the room is small it is quite noisy. I recommend their foie gras (made on site), it is melting!
Over hyped, small quantities, not very good and expensive. There are much better restaurant in the area
Really great brunch experience as someone coming in from Toronto for a weekend trip! Service and food were great! Ordered the Foeigwa slam - pancakes were excellent, though light on condiments it was really savory. Others like eggs, bread and sausage were likewise prepared well. Recommend visitors check it out! (Pancake score: 8.5/10)
Late evening menu at $25 very very good if you just want to treat yourself without having to mortgage your house this is a very good option.
The food is incredible and the atmosphere as well. highly recommend
Had a meal set for 25. From salad to mains everything was delicious, I would say one of the best pasta I ever had. Highly recommended to go and try their food
Delicious!
It s a really good place for having brunch or breakfast, the staff is so friendly and nice, and the portions are good for the price, I recommend the cold latte.
I was not impressed with the food. Our food was cold, the pancakes were way too dense and dry. The chicken and waffles were meh. They were definitely understaffed for a long weekend, which sucks because it s not the staffs fault. The service was super slow and they forgot about my smoothie though I had requested it several times, at least they took it off our bill.
My first time there with my husband Kamel. We went yesterday on August 3rd for my birthday after visiting the amazing cocktail club. Food is very fresh and tasty, very good. services, I have to say, I don t remember his name, but in August 3rd at 7pm this guy was amazing, kind, respectful, amazing service. We felt super welcomed and had an amazing experience. Thank you and see you soon
Food was good for the price. Service was great, people were efficient and kind. The cocktails were good as well. Food : 5/5
Honestly, it was really very average. The foie gras was good, the tuna tartare just I dont understand why they serve it, really no taste, except the tomato taste which doesnt work at all in my opinion. The Caesar is correct, nothing more. The service is okay, not at all impressed by the sommelier, apart from telling me the name of the wines, I had no recommendation or explanation, very disappointing. Only one bathroom, very inconvenient for customers, especially since it was not clean. Overall, I dont think its worth the detour.
Overrated
Normally I really enjoy my time at this restaurant but unfortunately this time it didn t do it for me. My partner got the burger and for myself the tar tar and they were both bland. The lady serving us was cold. When I had made the reservation I noted it was my partners birthday and to kindly get him a little something at the end as other restaurants normally would. When I told the waitress it was his birthday she proceeded to tell me I ll get you the menu was a little disappointing.
Excellent service and food. Generous portions. Conveniently located near Atwater market. It is not a large place so you may have to wait for a table. It was very loud for Sunday brunch. They ask if you have food allergies which is nice. Kid-friendliness: 18+ only
The flavour and portion are not worth the price. I ordered a french toast and out came one medium sized brioche for 17.5$. The taste was good but wish there was more bread and cream. My friend had the shakshuka and said it was lacking spice.
I visited Foiegaw for their $25 late-night menu after 9 pm (with some cocktails on special too!). The food was absolutely delicious and worth every penny. Great vibe and decor highly recommend!
Amazing food, service is world class and personal, sat with Thomas at the bar and we went back and forth like old friends. If you re debating on making a rezo, lock it in right now and sit at the bar with an old friend :)
We tried the late night menu for $25 and it was one of our best meals ever! Simply excellent. I highly recommend.
Above average . Nothing impressive about it.
Great place and the food was fantastic I can t recommend the braised beef enough. Lots of nice cocktails as well
After hearing about it I decided to go and try it, a nice place with good food however the wait was long for a brunch at lunchtime and the quantities are small for the price. I appreciated the service, the welcome as well as the decor inside. There was too much noise and the place is small but I will surely go back to show it to my friends but not to eat my fill.
Foiegwa has seen better days. Food was decent and the prices are reasonable, but there s sufficiently compelling to attract a regular dinner crowd. Staff are going through the motions.
What an amazing little restaurant! Chic, classy and delicious. Chloe was an extremely hospitable and kind bartender, not only is the food divine, but her service really made the dining experience worth it. She anticipated my needs with ease and a smile. Definitely put this on your list of Montreal restaurants to visit if you haven t already
Would go back for the drinks alone. Boy am glad the bar tender from the Atwater Cocktail club was tending at Foiegwa that night! Sipped on the Golden Wind. Lots of ingredients in there but you taste ALL of them TOGETHER. Lots going on in there, enough for your taste buds to lose their minds! The gold is a nice touch but messy. The Cinco de Mayo was good too. Fun drink but would gladly just order a second Gold Wind. Food is also nice. Torchon is only ok (might actually only have oysters next time...or tartar as app) but the scallop risotto nailed it. First, risotto is cooked perfectly, titering between barely uncooked and cooked. The scallops were too few but perfectly cooked. Tender buttery and seared enough on the outside. Flavours were subtle yet bold and satisfying. Bravo. The tartar was good. Flavour is on point but I wish they had a cut that makes it more tender. It was a tiny bit too chewy. Would still order it again though. The dessert was good but forgettable. So I actually forgot what it was.
I had the spaghetti with truffle. It was SO good. Our servers were very nice. I would go back :)
Really succulent, a reference for brunches.
A Canadian staple of Montreal and a pretty solid one. Did the 3 course meal for $49 CAD. Wish the portions were a little bit larger, but for the quality of food it was pretty solid. The Caesar salad with the shredded cheese was excellent, the spaghetti with truffle a perfect addition and to close it with chocolate mousse with the granola was memorable by far. Ask for their cocktail of the month if they don t mention it. Pretty good way to start the meal. Place is essential if you come to Montreal and are a food enthusiast like myself.
I took their $25 promo and honestly it was totally worth it and their virgin drink is really good
Great for brunch! Very friendly staff and generous portions.
The food was delicious The prices were affordable Food
Went on a date with my husband. :)) Great food good staff very nice decor Food
The crepe suzette pancakes were undercooked. Otherwise the service is nice. Fairly high noise level.
excellent cuisine and friendly staff.
We were three. The calamari was terrible! Huge crust with a small rubbery piece inside. My braised beef was delish. The crepes suzette were rubbery. Dinner for three with an inexpensive bottle of wine was 300 dollars. You can eat anywhere for that amount!
Loved this place. The after 9pm 3 course meal for $25 CAD was awesome. You can still get items off the regular menu, but dont pass on the 3 course one. Choice of foi grois/cucumber salad, hamburger/truffle pasta, and a dessert. Id pass on the tuna tartare, but otherwise everything was great. Small, cozy, and very young (lots of college students) after 9pm. Reservations are a must for that special. Place holds only 42 people. Service was excellent too
The place is small and as a result can be noisy. However, once the late lunch crowd thinned out, we agreed that the food was excellent as was the afoggato. A charming, unique and uplifting poace to eat, close to the Marche Atwater.
Foiegwa was such an amazing experience. We went there for my partners 60th birthday w a party of 12. They were so accommodating and friendly. Our server was George. He was so much fun made sure we were taken care of. He also got us into Atwater cocktail bar. The experience was the best. Would come back and will be recommend this place to friends. Thank you so much.
For those looking for a phenomenal gastronomic experience up to 30$ per person, this is the place, I recommend it and whenever I can I will eat at this place
Today my wife and I went here for breakfast, there was a paper behind the window that the restaurant opens at 11 today and we waited because it was 10:50, the curtain behind the door was slightly open and you could see inside through the curtain. A lady was cleaning the tables and the forks and knives on the table. I hope you dont go to this restaurant if you value your health. With a paper towel that is for the toilet and spray, She cleaned the glasses, then the monitor screen, then the chairs and the table, then the forks and the knives on the table! I could not believe that such a thing was possible! She sprayed the Windex on everything and hit the fork and knife with a napkin that cleaned everything! #HealthHazard #DirtyRestaurant #StayAway
the $25 menu is a good price but the food is mehh.
Went twice. After hours set menu was good value and well presented. Drinks were good. Brunch was okay I expected something more given the restaurant s reputation.
Have been to foiegwa four times over the last few years and it is one of my favourite restaurants in Canada in terms of its bang for buck. The homemade spaghetti with truffle is to die for ($28.75). The chicken liver mousse ($6.25)and bechamel parmesan truffle fries ($9.25) are both great. Service is friendly and quick. The restaurant is very cute.
Very nice evening in this restaurant. I discovered it via Instagram when walking past it in the street, I wasnt inspired. Yet what a delight! Our dishes were excellent: from foie gras to scallops and frog legs (yes, yes...). The service is impeccable even if we are reluctant to discuss with the customer, by insisting a little we got there... we went there early in the evening and it was perfect. We will definitely return!
Hands down the best Caesar salad I ve ever had at a restaurant! The risotto was incredible I love the citrus vibe and crunchy parm. The scallops could have been cooked a little less . My partner loved the braised beef the most . Would definitely recommend for an intimate date night spot. Great customer service and reasonable prices
We got the late night 3 course meal for $25. The pasta was the best! But the other dishes were okay. Service was slow and the tables are too close together so it s hard to have privacy or room to get up and get in your seat.
Small and cozy restaurant with delicious food tapas style. Very good cocktails as well.
Tightened card guaranteeing fresh products. Dishes without unnecessary sophistication, just with a balanced and good taste. There you go, it was good from starter to dessert. Nice wine list but I think we should offer a few more options by the glass. Very good cocktail. The service is like the dishes: fair and unpretentious, simple but professional. A good address!
We had a great meal here. Two of us got the tasting menu and were able to share and try many things. Everything was excellent. The restaurant itself is very cute.
Great place, nice staff
Absolutely brilliant brunch experience this one! The pancakes, the mimosas, the scrambled: everything balanced to perfection. Also the vibe - with its cozy interiors and portraits on the wall - beautiful for a lazy sunday morning.
Late night menu offers excellent value for money. Totally worth it!
Just wow! My wife and I ate here for dinner. We ordered two of their signature dishes. The pasta with butter and black truffle oil, and the beef tartar. They were exceptional. We also ordered fries from the side menu, which were without a doubt the best fries we have ever eaten! We did not order the burger with foie gras, but that will be on the menu next time!!!
CEASARS are excellent
You have to go and take advantage of the 3-course starter, main course and dessert service for $25 AFTER 9 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday! Then go to their speakeasy! Top service, top food portion, not bad! The restaurant is small BUT very very beautiful, I advise you to book in advance! I recommend the restaurant 100%
Got the $25 3-course meal plus the extra Betty Boop cocktail, very satisfied with everything! Started off with the chicken pâté, then with the creamy truffle spaghetti, and finished with a nice cheesecake. Everything was so tasty!
I don t know what s the hype with this spaghetti egg yolk pasta, it is so mediocre, no complexity + the portion is incredibly small + no meat. The foie gras was also dry and small af. We felt like we ate nothing and got scammed. Definitely want our money back kinda experience. Not recommended. Would give 0 stars if I could. If you think it s good pasta, I would recommend you explore more.
Interesting cocktails. Offers a late night menu with dishes that pairs well together would recommend ordering both if dining for two. Appetizing dishes, especially the chicken liver mousse which was very palatable and oddly delightful. Place was packed full and pretty loud, would not recommend for first dates or first time meetings; great place for catching up or date nights.
Good food, nice flavor. Went after 21h for the 25$ per person. It was very good and on small portions so i didnt feel bloated after. The server was very friendly and well mannered. We took 2 cocktails each and it was very tasty, they sure know how to make mexican cocktails. Food : 5/5
Great late night menu
It was really great . Nice place its really pretty inside its smaller than you think but the fact that its small it really makes the experience better go there if you like to have a talk.
Painfully white. Music too loud. Spilled some vinegar and accidentally started a chemical reaction. Staff was average. Food was really good though, although portions were small.
Classic breakfast with some cool hip options. Blueberry ricotta pancakes are a must try!
This place was super good, but I will say its a TAD pricy. If you eat alot you wont be satisfied with the serving size for the price!
Went for a brunch here as a friend of mine really wanted to try this restaurant. Once out of the restaurant, I understood why I never went back to Foiegwa since my first visit in 2018. The place is really small and when it gets busy (which is the case for brunch time during the weekend), the noise makes it impossible to enjoy the atmosphere. It can really give you a headache! Besides the atmosphere, I honestly think that the food is not worth the vibe. If compared to other places, the fried chicken is Ok, the fries came cold which wasn t very appealing and the Foiegwa Slam was ok but nothing special about it.
The quantities and quality of each dish is impeccable. The service is excellent and the atmosphere pleasant and cozy. A very good address
We were there for the 9 p.m. menu. It was very good, the steak tartare was delicious as well as the truffle pasta. Very good price also. $57 for 2 people
very good service from Chloe and the rest of the staff, really excellent food and cocktails :)
Best brunch place in the universe
The dishes are delicious but for small appetites. The service is good but very long.
Super charming restaurant with delicious food. I always make a point to go when I am in town. Highly reccommend!
The flavors are excellent! We took the discovery menu and it must be said that the quality/price ratio was excellent!
Foiegwa has an energetic vibe . We are a family of 5 who arrived for dinner on a Saturday night . We ordered the beef tartare, escargots, oysters , beef bavette, braised beef, truffle spaghetti, scallops with risotto. . We highly recommend this restaurant for the great food fabulous service and wonderful ambiance. We had a great time.
My husband & I tried their $25 3-course meal and everything was so good! Will definitely come back to try their brunch & other menu items!
A wonderful restaurant for our 2 year anniversary The foie gras is succulent, the truffle spaghetti is divine, and the fresh panna cota is wonderful. We will come back with pleasure
Cute little spot for French food. Their pâté and beef tartare are delicious! Definitely a must try!
The manager and the waitress are unprofessional, arrogant and rude, literally telling me that they wont change the eggs for me and that they dont need us as customers and that they have people outside so they will break head with a custom order. There was also a girl next to us that the manager asked to leave if they werent going to eat
Spaghetti with truffle oil: Ive been coming here mutliple times for the truffle spaghetti and each time it is super good. Very simple yet good dish. But also pretty expensive since the price went up. Update: the truffle has gotten more subtle, which is a bummer. This dish is worth it if you take the 25$ 3-course menu after 21h00. Remoulade de celeri: coleslaw style type of salad made with celeri. Dish is okay, but inconsistent. Mine was quite sour, I had to add salt. My husbands was midly bland. Cheesecake: very soft and creamy, but it tasted like cream cheese with just a sprinkle of sugar. Not cakey enough. The tartar: was properly seasonned, but doesnt come with anything like bread or croutons. Fries: Best fries ever. Not oily, stayed crunchy the whole meal and perfectly seasonned with bbq powder and salt. Came with the beef tartar. Beef tartar with black truffle: I dont know of they forgot the truffle or not, but I didnt taste it at all. I could see small truffle flakes but not tasteany truffle. The tartar was also pretty tasteless even with the chips. Had to add some salt. The chips were good and crunchy. Oysters: Took the 6 pieces oysters. Fresh, incredibly small. I dont eat oysters often so I wasnt sure what size to expect at a restaurant. To me its small compared to the one I buy at home. Overall, food is okay, service is good and very fast, beautiful place. They blasted the AC despite it being already cold, so me and my friend had to keep our coats on (and other clients too). Only come here if you have money to splurge. The portions are very tiny and the price has risen in the last couple of years. The star of the night are the spaghetti and the fries. We were hungry again after.
I have wanted to visit this place for some time and I m so grateful that I did. The service is immaculate, beyond kind and accommodating staff, the food is oh so delicious and chic, and the ambiance is absolutely pleasing
So good. Full of flavor and its a very relaxed atmosphere, to my surprise.
Tried the late night special. After 9pm, $25 for 3 courses plus deals on drink. Very good but not their best dishes. Understandably so given the price. Wife had the beef, not part of special deal but tasted real nice. Perfect service and nice ambiance. Parking: Street parking isnt easy but most people know to park in the lot in the opposite corner of the street...near the pharmaprix
Great address from a finalist of the local top chef, very friendly and attentive service, original cuisine, but I only give 4 stars because I was a little disappointed by the very fatty frog legs. Very recommendable despite this.
Went for the after-9 Sunday to Thursday 3 course menu for $25. Food was delicious but portions were small (expected). Service was great and vibe was also excellent. Don t expect to be full from this menu but certainly worth it for the experience!
Very cozy restaurant. Very very decadent food.
Great dining experience! I had the 25$ 3 course menu (Sun-Thur, past 9pm) and everything was really tasty. The truffle pasta lived up to the hype for me. Also our waiter was super nice.
19.25$ for one slice of french toas! With a puff of cream on top and maple syrup on the side. Nothing else! WOW thats abusing. Might as well charge the whole 20$ while youre there. My father ordered that and got an empty dish with just a slice of bread, you would expect a side of fruits... maybe 2 slices... I dont know something else. Even if it was the best french toast in Montreal, which it isnt. .. I only realized after finishing our meal that this was the price. I told the waiter, and he said, Well, its a thick slice of bread... lol. Not going back for sure.
While the bartender and her drinks were excellent, the dining experience fell short. Despite not being picky, I found that every dish lacked flavor. We waited over an hour for a small portion of pasta, which simply wasnt good. Regrettably, this experience has led me to the decision not to return and I would suggest exploring other dining options.
Didnt have the opportunity to taste it, since we were kicked out because our dog, who is a service dog, and moreover his card which was presented, was calmly in our company. We have no problem in every restaurant in Montreal because of the dog, who once again has a service dog card. No effort was made on the part of the pseudo security guard in the restaurant. We are very disappointed to have been received like this on the evening of my birthday. Foiegwa is a big ZERO that you deserve!!
Good but nothing more which for the price can be disappointing
Decent spot to visit for breakfast while visiting Montreal. Place gets super busy and you may have to wait to enter. Somewhat cramped inside which means that if its busy it will be quite loud. Pricing seemed a bit higher than most, but the food was tasty. Servers seemed a bit overwhelmed by the weekend rush and a few things were forgotten. Worth checking out if youre in the area.
Excellent service, the 3-course meal was really good, that mousse was one of the best I had, and for less than 35 dollars.
Big disappointment for a restaurant that already has a well-established reputation. Perhaps due to resting on ones laurels. A wait for a reserved table. The meal... A salad soaked in cheap vinaigrette dressing. A cheeseburger with a bun saturated with a sauce that is none other than the blood of the meat. Poor quality overcooked steak. A portion of fries that is on the level of a bad fast food restaurant. And lets not talk about the tasteless crispy chicken. For a minimum of $27 per dish. Hoping that this comment is constructive and that the manager realizes the absurdity that he agrees to serve to his customers.
I love the selection on their menu; very filling but scrumptious would go back for a special occasion
I have been there 3-4 times for both brunch and dinner. The dishes are always great, BUT the drinks are outstanding!! You might feel a bit cramped up in busy night. Overall is a worthy place to try! P.S. The fried chicken with waffle and the black truffle pasta with egg yoke are my top reformations.
My friends and I had a wonderful dining experience at Foiegwa. The food was pricey but absolutely delicious! As for people giving this place one star reviews for not accepting kids: This is NOT discrimination. As they clearly advertise on their website, they are technically a bar not a restaurant and are simply respecting Quebec laws. There are many other establishments like them in Montreal with similar restrictions.
Good appetizers, highly recommend frog legs. Drinks were very good too, both taste and presentation-wise. Pasta felt very anticlimactic, wouldn t order again. Atmosphere of a diner, good if you like cozy. Prices are a bit high for the portion size IMO

A laid back spot thats great for a date or just a casual hangout with a couple of friends. Its not big, and would probably be best for parties of 4 max. The plates are small and meant to be shared, but price-wise could quickly add up, so dont come too hungry. I really enjoyed the truffle spaghetti.
Amazing atmosphere. Small, private restaurant. Beautiful decor. Food was delicious. Worth the price! The octopus was to die for!
