Just a casual lunch: tortelloni (porc beaurivage / smoked onion / turnip) paired with a fabulous orange wine from italy. Keeping it light and simple… because life’s too short for boring pasta or colorless wine. 🍝🍷
Quite empty on a Tuesday night - would have preferred to have been reseated to an empty regular table not a high top. Tasting menu was okay but not great - first course a waste. Bread and steak courses amazing. Agnolotti and dessert very average
Ribs steaks tastes ok on average, come with spaghetti and salads as side dishes. Enough for share:) As well warm oyster just amazing. Our server Louis is patience and supportive. But overall not feel very welcoming at very beginning at the restaurant. Overall whole experience was not that great. Don’t feel welcoming and the way hostess talk was makes me uncomfortable. As well first time we received our ribs comes cold, but server Louis was helpful and we got another new steak, appreciate that:) -no problem with Louis, appreciate with the efforts however at beginning steak comes with some tomatoes and grilled veggies such as horicots, was totally disappeared after we got our new steak. And we ask two times to get grilled veggies back. If your dishes comes with that you should gave us as it supposed to be like.(I kept spaghetti and salad so I didn’t mean those two side dishes only for the vegetable and tomatoes) My appointment was made at 5:30, I arrived on time even earlier. As e-mail said I had table for 2h30mins, if I understand right I can have my table until 8pm. I ask for the bill to be printed at 7:20 I did checked time:) and I got some personal issue with bank so I stay 15mins longer wait issue fix, at 7:36 hostess lady was suddenly come ask us rudely to pay the bill and we have to leave because she got customer coming at 8. I explain to her I got issue now will need to stay a bit to wait, she push us to have a time to pay bill. I just want to say even though I didn’t had wine or dessert I still bring your guys revenue, I am still your customer tonight until I leave. Better to train your employe how to communicate more respectful. As long as I don’t want leave within 2h30mins, it’s not friendly to push people leave and pay bill. Make me feel that I will escape. I came with your reputation and want trust your team professional cooking skills. As well operation as a team, sadly I was disappointed with today whole experience. Won’t be back anymore, first time is last time:) If you finish read my note I appreciate your patience, thank you
This was absolutely delicious. Food art. Lovely atmosphere, not too noisy, timing was perfect and everyone we interacted with was very nice and kind. Loved everything we had. We don't drink alcohol and still found the service to be amazing - not always the case when servers find out you don't drink. Highly recommend checking this place out if it's in your budget.
Our meal here was absolutely incredible!! We opted for the a la carte menu and were not disappointed. Each meal was expertly prepared and beautifully plated. We started with the warm oysters with sabayon, the burrata with peach, fennel and mustard seed and the tuna tarts. They were all insanely delicious! We followed that with the duck. The plum sauce was decadent and flavorful and the duck was divine. We ended our meal with the peach and peanut desserts, which were so damn good. And as if the experience couldn’t get any better the service was impeccable. David was kind attentive and willingly swapped out ingredients if we had dietary restrictions. My aunt couldn’t eat dairy so he swapped out the ice cream in the peanut dessert with sorbet. Hoogan et Beaufort is an definite recommend.
Top tier service. Absolutely amazing atmosphere and the food was to die for. Worth every penny, an experience start to finish. We felt welcomed despite not knowing French. 10/10 recommend.
Our meal here was nothing short of incredible (we got the tasting menu and wine paring). We’ve only ever eaten at one Michelin star restaurant before, but our meal here exceeded that experience. The food was insanely delicious, and I was honestly sad to leave knowing that our meal was over! The service was also amazing. Everyone who took care of us was so kind and knowledgeable and the pacing of the service was perfection—this place is a well-oiled machine. Even though the quality of the meal was top tier, the atmosphere never felt stuffy or pretentious. Hoogan et Beaufort is an absolute recommend.
Last night’s tasting menu was exceptional! The nuance of flavors and clever ingredients made each dish unique from start to finish. The wine pairings were perfection as well… our sommelier knew so much about each selection that it made the experience super fun. Each staff member did a great job and the ambiance was minimalist but warm. We sat at the bar, which gave us a chance to watch a lot of the food prep, grilling and drink making so it was quite entertaining too! We highly recommend Hoogan & Beaufort and can’t wait to return.
All is perfect everything
We were a group and had 8 courses. The dishes were both innovative and tasty. I particularly enjoyed the different mushroom preparations, and the beef was absolutely succulent. On the other hand, I liked the ravioli less, which I found too al dente for my taste, although the stuffing was excellent. The non-alcoholic cocktails were also very successful. The service, although very attentive, was a little slow: we arrived at 8:30 p.m. and left after midnight. But the overall experience was very good and we had a lovely evening. Dietary restrictions: They are very attentive to dietary restrictions and make sure to offer quality alternatives without compromising on taste.
Excellent food and service.
Courteous service and very interesting selection. I will go back
Great experience - attentive server. Menu that changes 3-4 times a year with innovative dishes that make you want to try new things. Only their dessert menu inspired me less and their decaf cappuccino was not up to par. 2nd time here, and still just as satisfied. The price is on the high side Dietary restrictions: Chefs will make modifications to fit the woman who is pregnant.
Honestly one of the best restaurants in Montreal! The menu is seasonal, super creative and delicious. The service is 10/10, impeccable, all the staff are friendly and super professional. Thanks to our server Mehdi and the sommelier for their great recommendations! We had a great evening and we will come back!
A superb evening! From the moment we greet you, the staff immediately puts us at ease with careful attention. The servers, elegant and warm, stand out for their relevant suggestions and a presentation of the dishes that whets the appetite. Add to that a superb setting and exquisite cuisine: a true art of entertaining. 5 stars, highly recommended!
We had a great time as a family The service is impeccable! On the other hand, the dishes are not worth the asking price! It s good but a little too expensive for the quality offered, I won t come back
We had the tasting menu and thought it was good until we were violently ill that night. Informed the restaurant and have not heard back (1 week later). Overall, a disappointing experience.
A very confusing dining experience! The wine was fabulous! The dessert was exceptional!!!! The apps/main food was... Uninspired. Boring. Not special. Not worth the price....... We ordered the tasting menu and were not impressed. The 4/5 courses were vegetarian (come on...), they were also pretty bland, and the steak/rib was simply ok. For the price... Unacceptable. When ordering a tasting menu at this price I expect each dish to have something memorable... I didnt find that here (except for the apple, hops, olive oil dessert which was 10/10). Wont be coming back. ---- Important note The portions were also very small. We ordered the tasting menu + oysters and were still hungry enough to eat another meal afterwards. We went to Provisions afterwards and had the late night menu :) delicious and filling!!!
This restaurant, not bad otherwise, is very difficult to find in the evening, in an industrial district deserted on weekends, but above all... an invisible sign (black on black in the evening = nothing). Come on, shine a little light please!
Its impeccable and absolutely a delight for all the senses. A gastronomic experience that takes you on a journey to another dimension. Easy parking. Thanks for the experience. Parking: Easy. Wheelchair accessibility: No stair steps.
Mixed review of this restaurant. 2 of us were there for dinner. We found the place to be noisy. The evening was on the theme of Italy, in the end we did not find the authentic tastes of Italy: - antipasti: the cold cuts were not bad. On the other hand, the Focaccia was not one (just bread) - starter: excellent salmon, nothing to say - homemade pasta: way too salty and not enough guanciale - meat: very tender pork loin, however the potatoes and salad do not add much to the dish except to make it too hearty - dessert: successful and airy tiramisu. The sweets we didnt feel were the almonds in the brownie and the lemon sweets were too sweet. To conclude, we were disappointed by this theme evening. For the high price of this meal, the tastes are not there. However, the restaurants classic menu may be better.
Original, tasty, and obviously made with passion. I recommend
To date, I dont know of any other restaurant in Montreal that offers such a prime rib. We are talking here about 28oz approximately 800g. Its a treat to share with one or more friends. The side dishes are also very good. You also have a choice of excellent starters and desserts. The wine list or should I say the binder offers a very nice selection. With that comes a great ambiance and exceptional service.
We had a great time at Hoogan and Beaufort, the dishes are very good and original. The welcome was also very warm. Next time we will try the tasting menu. The only negative point is that the place is quite noisy when busy. Parking: Several places in front Wheelchair accessibility: On the ground
Very bad service. No consideration for their customer. I had booked well in advance for a party. They canceled suddenly at the last minute. Pitiful.
Please be aware that this restaurant did not honor my reservation, even though I had given a large deposit. I was planning to celebrate my birthday there with the family, I was changing decade, an important date for me, and they called me to cancel my reservation a few days before leaving me in a difficult position. The reason, a charity event organized a weeks notice!!! Based on my experience, and regardless of the reasons they gave, if you want to ensure that your dinner will actually take place, I strongly suggest you look at another restaurant.
Service, food, and wine all incredible. Definitely a special occasion dinner but you won t be disappointed.
Perfection top level cooking here. The quail pasta is a dish that will be remembered forever. Unbelievable wines here too, everything was blissful. The service was excellent too. Go for the tasting menu with wine pairing.
We had the multi course tasting menu for our anniversary date the food was varied and every course was well rounded. There was a focus on fresh ingredients and their intent was overwhelm the palate. Some more adventurous eaters may disappointed but we enjoyed this meal very much. The wine selection was very well chosen and the sommelier was knowledgeable. Overall a great experience:)
First time this evening at Hogan and Beaufort for me and I loved the food. All the dishes chosen were delicious and the service was impeccable. Excellent restaurant!
Excellent all round. Tasting and wine pairing
A perfect dinner. The food was amazing. The service 10/10. David was our server for the evening, he was excellent
A perfect score for an impeccable kitchen. Fresh, sufficient portions and above all daring Quebec cuisine.
We chose the tasting menu with the Hoogan wine pairing. The service is impeccable, present and attentive. The atmosphere is as warm as ever with its scent of fireplace. The food is always excellent and high quality. With the exception of the dry braised-pressed and without great qualities, I only have good words for all the other dishes on the menu. Well done to the team!
Still as good Always an excellent choice of wine Always a serviceA1 And the best espresso Martini
We chose the tasting menu and every dish was delicious! The service was excellent too. We received some great cocktail recommendations. The servers were very attentive and explained each dish to us well. We recommend :)
Came with friends to try the tasting menu as part of our trip to Montreal. The food was delicious and had variety of colours and flavours presented. The only gripe I had was how incredibly salty many of things were such as the quail among other aspects of the dishes. The service was good as the staff was attentive to when we finished our meals and if we needed water, etc. However our server was a bit on the rude side. He seemed a bit snobbish and would cut me off when I was talking and walk away before I could finish my sentence. Did feel a bit like we werent completely invited. The atmosphere was cool as we could see the chefs in action. Overall, it was a nice one-time experience.
Very nice experience. However, if you opt for the tasting menu, do not make any changes to the dishes offered. I wanted to have a protein other than tuna as a starter. I was told that they would give me a nice surprise. I was served half a slice of tomato with the accompaniments provided for the tuna. It was not at all harmonious with the bitterness of the tomato. So if you like certain foods less, I strongly suggest you opt for the à la carte menu. I wish the server had offered me this option!
Very good place for a festive dinner!
We came to celebrate our anniversary and we were not disappointed! Impeccable service from Maxime who gave us great advice on wines. In terms of the kitchen, nothing to complain about, everything was just right. Special mention for the desserts perfectly thought out and executed by Laetitia! Thank you, we will come back
Very good restaurant. Impeccable service, left eager to come back.
My best culinary experience in Montreal. The atmosphere and decor are rich and simple at the same time. The service is impeccable, warm, connoisseurs especially Maxim when it comes to wine . The most extensive cellar in Montreal. And the dishes!!! Works of art where every bite is delectable. Bravo to your talented chef and brigade!
We ate at Hoogan et Beaufort a few days ago and it was phenomenal. The chef accommodated our dietary restrictions so we could enjoy the tasting menu (me: no meat, him: no lobster) and we were treated to excellent wine pairings, also adapted due to the changes in our menu. Overall the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent dining experience. Vegetarian options: Please ask! There was not many choices on the menu but they were happy to make adjustments. I eat fish but not meat.
Culinary experience and impeccable service every time. The hot oysters are a must try!
An absolutely exceptional meal from start to finish. The service was excellent; we had Mehdi as our waiter and he was wonderful, and Hugo, the sommelier, was highly experienced and each pairing was intelligently and carefully picked. It s a welcoming environment for anglophones as well, speaking as one :) I had the menu degustations- Miguel, the chef, changes it up often so I ll surely be back! Thank you H&B for a lovely night
A dinner beyond my expectations, impeccable service and what can I say about the tasting menu, plates with local products, thank you. The wine a perfect match. Big favorite. Its a team effort, thank you to each of you.
Very nice experience for dinner at Hoogan & Beaufort. We went there twice in 5 days: the first time we tried the tasting menu and the second time we ordered a la carte. During our two visits, the quality of the dishes served was excellent. During the tasting menu, all the dishes were of good quality and came together quite quickly. We were satisfied, but we would have liked more service, it went very quickly. We preferred our second visit, where we ordered a la carte. Big favorites for the cooked oysters, the pork chop and the blueberry dessert. The latter was truly excellent, a marvel of balance! Very good, smiling and efficient service during our two visits. Definitely worth doing again!
An excellent lunchtime experience! The dishes cooked near the wood fire were tasty, original and generous. Our sommelier gave very good advice and the service was attentive. Already looking forward to going back!
There were some positives, but overall a very underwhelming experience. There was good wine selection, but the food was overpriced (and by that I mean it didnt meet expectations relative to price). The starter we ordered was extremely small, and the rib steak to share was severely under seasoned (everything on the dish, including the two sauces). The service was good, but by the time we got our steak the waiter didnt care to ask if it was to our liking or afterwards if we enjoyed it. I wanted to like this restaurant, but honestly wouldnt go back.
Always excellent! The discovery menu is definitely worth it! Sommelier experience!
Hoogan et Beaufort is a friendly restaurant where the quality of the dishes is unparalleled! We highly recommend it!
Delicious and refined cuisine, superb experience, adorable service, top wine list! We loved it! To do and to do again!
Only two servers know he should reply to thank you and the word is: you are welcome. Other servers just give no reaction. The food is good but the service can be better!
Had an enjoyable dinner last night. wine list was excellent as was the food selection. I had the hallibut which was very well prepared.
Excellent restaurant! Everything was perfect from start to finish! Cocktails, wine pairing under the good advice of our smiling waiter! We had the oysters, ravioli and pork as well as the bread with whipped butter and there is absolutely nothing negative to say! The atmosphere is also great which makes the place all the more perfect. Thank you for this beautiful evening full of H&B flavor
Very nice restaurant, nice setting, attentive welcome. Lack of lighting at our table and a little too much under the air conditioning. Very good cuisine, original dishes with good combinations. Very good wines! I recommend ++
SAQ scotch tasting. An incredible meal with pairings.
The flavours are exceptional, however the portions are beyond small and most dishes are overpriced. 200g of Halibut FOR 2 + 1 tbs of crab + veggies = 110$. 2 thick slices of eggplant = 22$. Not to mention that a restaurant of this level should have table cloth!!
The food is really tastier since Flaxtron is working in the kitchen!
Excellent food, but it lacks the wow effect to give it the 5th star, given the price we pay here. Favorites for hot oysters. The other dishes were all good but my expectations were higher for a restaurant where you pay close to $150-200 per person. Courteous service and a beautiful dining room (too bad the view outside is a little depressing though).
Nice and chique hip snobby. Food is good and the service is excellent.
Wow and wow. We had a tasting... wine and dish pairing. Yes a 9.8/10. Thank you life for offering us this... our servers were friendly and competent.
Food was good, but unfortunately the service was not at the same level.
Delicious dishes, good advice on pairing with alcohol or without alcohol. Attentive service.
Excellent sommelier, necessary given the size of the wine list. Interesting, unusual dishes to discover. Rather expensive but we expected it
The tasting menu is very good overall, particularly the meats and dessert. For my dishes, the emphasis was on mastery rather than originality. The choice of wines was both judicious and original. Presentation of carefully prepared dishes. Fast and welcoming service.
Amazing! Everything was interesting to look at, but also to eat. The flavors worked together and the ingredients were highlighted. Delicious.
Exceptional food. Incredible food and wine pairing menu. Super nice discovery. Six stars out of five. Yes yes!
Loved this spot! Felt like a local. In a pretty random spot if you don t know the area, but the industrial atmosphere and minimalist vibe was lovely. The food was so flavorful and was a great great portion size. Would highly recommend the mozzarella appetizer and the porc chop for the main.
Beautiful food and a cosy atmosphere. We also had the best seats in the place (by the kitchen), and it was wonderful watching the chefs prepare the meals. Service was wonderful. Definitely worth a visit!
My first time there. Everything was just perfect. The pork chops were absolutely amazing..
Service, food, everything was amazing. Been there for dinner and lunch. One of the rare place that create innovative menu for lunch instead of the optimized profit oriented lunch menu. Keep it up!
Excellent food and very good service.
Expensive, very long wait between courses, small quantities, no menu, brief menu but large choice of wine. I will not repeat this experience.
Great service and wonderfully delicious food. Quite an exhausive wine list. Would definitely recommend this restaurant yearning for fine French dinning with a creative modern taste.
Fine and really good dishes A perfect food/wine pairing Impeccable service, I would even say exceptional A real discovery about hot oysters! I recommend
The meal was excellent, the wine was very good (a top level Verona table wine). The service was above all, from the welcome to the dessert. We may like the atmosphere, personally it is perhaps too open, too brasserie and particularly the furniture, very ordinary, so my main minus. For the rest, if you like to eat well, you appreciate being well served, its worth the detour and its price.
Ive had the pleasure of dining at Hoogan et Beaufort multiple times, and every visit has been consistently amazing! Their dishes always meet perfection, from start to finish. The service is top-notch without fail, and the ambiance enhances the overall dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking consistently delicious meals and excellent service. Looking forward to many more visits in the future!
Incredible experience with incredible service and incredible food. This is our third time and still amazed by the quality and originality of the tasting menu. Dietary restrictions: Tasting menu can be tailored to dietary restrictions
Gastronomic menu with excellent wine pairing throughout. Fast and courteous service. A bit too noisy, but there are worse things. Excellent, but expensive!
Everything was divine! An unforgettable experience!
I recommend 100%!!! I went there once to enjoy the à la carte menu and another time for the tasting menu with pairing (the Hoogan). In both cases everything was absolutely phenomenal! The service is impeccable. I will definitely go back as soon as the tasting menu is updated! Dietary restrictions: Service perfectly accommodated allergies to certain foods even in the tasting menu!
Great restaurant! The tasting menu is varied with a great range of flavors. The hoogan wine pairing is just as perfect and the servers are great. Cant wait to go back
We took the tasting menu. They were not too flexible with changes but the food was delicious. Friday night, it took 3hrs for the full dining experience
Everything was delicious. Attentive service, lively atmosphere even at the end of the evening. I recommend for a special occasion.
Delicious refined cuisine. The lunch is definitely worth the detour. Excellent service.
Always delicious!
This is one of the few restaurants I rave about (and still continue to rave about) to this day, months after dining with them. I took my boyfriend to H&B for his birthday one evening in August 2023. We picked the tasting menu with the wine pairing and I am blown away by such a positive experience that we had. The sommelier assigned to our table was very educated and well-travelled. He was able to share stories about how he had come to find the wine, his relations with the vineyards and owners. He gave great descriptions relating to the different wine palettes, and why they pair nicely with each dish. The other servers were very attentive to our needs. They cleaned our table spills after each dish and were mindful enough to bring extra bread (to scoop up the gravys and creams) and refill our water glasses without even asking. The dishes was the best mix of being experimental/interesting (meshing of flavours I would not have thought to pair together), well-cooked, aesthetically pleasing and well-proportioned. I dont even know what else to add other than my partner and I were very silent when eating because that was how delicious it was, and we wanted to savour each moment. Finally, the decor and atmosphere gives off Japanese Zen/Scandinavian vibes. The restaurant has floor-to-ceiling glass windows which lets in lots of light and brightens the whole place. The many wood textures give a sense of calm, while the neutral and warm colors give a sense of elegance. The restaurant is located by the old train tracks, surrounded by old brick and metal structures. Very beautiful. This is definitely a place to take someone special, or to impress folks. While it can be expensive, I believe it is worth the price.
Excellent restaurant, one of the best in Montreal!
I love this restaurant. This is my fourth time and Im never disappointed each time. Very tasty dish and lovely atmosphere. To recommend without hesitation!
Contemporary decoration, modern atmosphere is slightly noisy, the bar open to the room as well as the kitchen are very appreciable. As for the menu, I was surprised that there was no Beaufort cheese as indicated in the name of the restaurant. the dish I had was delicious, and the starter with Bumrah, very creamy revisited
I loved it! The chef enhances the flavors in a way that can make you appreciate what you didnt like before. The attentive service also helped make this experience memorable. Charmed, I highly recommend and will not hesitate to return. Thank you for this great experience.
We really enjoyed our time at Hoogan and Beaufort. The service is impeccable, they are present and explain the menu well, etc.! A nice wine list but still very fast with very high prices. The food is also very good, we really enjoyed it! But I find it a little expensive for the quantity. I think the prices are $3 to $4 too high, it doesnt seem like much but at the end of the bill it can count. Even if I recognize the quality etc. I think thats a bit of an exaggeration. We still really enjoyed it. But because of the price, I know I wouldnt necessarily come back every month. But once in a while for fun. Good luck to the team
Dietary restrictions: I cant have any dairy. They always find a way to serve me a fantastic meal (including desert!) And that is really appreciated Food
Great experience, beautiful decor and what to say about the food! Beautiful tasting menu and above all beautiful BINDER of wines . The oysters with sabayon alone are worth the detour!
The kitchen is in the restaurant, we see the team moving around, devoting themselves to concocting dishes and all that, in a calm environment, where we can hear each other talking. What can I say about the food... Ive been there twice now and its delicious each time. I will remember the foie gras tartlets for a long time. I have rarely eaten such a delicious starter. The service is impeccable and the bill is very reasonable for the quality!!! Dietary restrictions: The restaurant inquired about allergies, twice rather than once.
Every time its delicious, but this time it was particularly divine. The refinement of each dish and the well-balanced flavors, which both make us discover something else while comforting us, impress me every time. Each visit is a memorable experience. Your talent in cooking and serving is a rarity that we greatly cherish. Thank you Hoogan and Beaufort
We enjoyed an equisite meal with outstanding service. Hoogan et Beaufort is in a league of its own! The dishes were so unique and all delicious. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the combinations of flavours all came together in the most untraditional ways! Coffee sabayon sauce with delicious pork chops. Butternut squash and pistachio ice cream for dessert- who would believe these ingredients went together? They were outstanding! Every dish was so well composed and crafted. I can t wait to return! Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian Parking: Easy parking
Its indisputable, truly among the best New Montreal style restaurants
I disagree with the last comment. In my opinion the place is rather neo-Montreal with a retro tendency. We too often overuse the term new Montreal, which is more about a spirit than about gastronomy.
Absolument délicieux ! Présentation exceptionnelle et superbe mariages de saveurs et textures. Accueil chaleureux et service remarquable. Restaurant à la hauteur de sa réputation. Parking: Easy parking on site and surrounding streets
Fantastic food, excellent service. A MUST for foodies
We went on a Saturday evening and had the tasting menu and it was really delicious! All the dishes were absolutely amazing. I dont eat meat and the menu has been adjusted for me, they do vegetarian and pesco-vegetarian versions. The wine is also very good, we were very well advised by the waiter We were seated at the bar and really enjoyed being able to see the kitchen :)
This is a hidden gem in Montreal, not to miss. Food, service and atmosphere were great.
A seasonal menu with very good quality products. A very beautiful setting with a wood-burning fireplace for the kitchen. And whats more, impeccable and friendly service, we had an excellent evening :)
I love this place! Its an upscale place, but where you feel good. The atmosphere is friendly, the service attentive, you can also come and have a cocktail at the bar, have a business dinner or a romantic dinner. And it s simply always delicious! The bread is incredible, the dishes are made from seasonal products, the accompaniments are fantastic (there are often several sauces or condiments, and always a little something to add a twist to the dish). Go there with your eyes closed.
Really too expensive for what you get!
i order the beef rib 125$ but when I tasted I m so disappointed it s very greasy. not worth it
My friends told me the rib is nice , so I come to try last week and they are not my friends now. first photo is what the 125CAD rib they got few months ago, and the second one is what I got last week
Gorgeous!!! Meal, service, experience, atmosphere everything was excellent. Hats off to the chef for adapting the menu to my multiple allergies and intolerances. Surprising discovery menu. We ate at the counter near the kitchen which made the experience even more amazing.
Montreal cuisine at its best!
By far the best restaurant experience. Professional service, great atmosphere and delicious seasonal products! 12/10
Very nice discovery! Tasting menu with food and wine pairing: incredible! As beautiful as it is good!
Superb gourmet restaurant highlighting local ingredients and wood-fired cuisine. We had the tasting menu (end of April) and everything was delicious and creative, great value and perfect for a special occasion. We were both surprised and impressed by the pasta made from pork rind! The confit trout was delicious, but our favorite was the Quebec red deer steak served with morels, a real treat and cooked to perfection over a wood fire. Impeccable and attentive service. A must-visit restaurant in Montreal!
The places, the atmosphere and the food were impeccable! Of course, the meal to share as well as our cocktails were expensive but it is an experience not to be missed. On the other hand, we had fairly ordinary service from our server (knowing that it is still a great restaurant in Montreal)... We expected better in terms of service but we nevertheless had a great evening :) I recommend!
Great cocktails and focaccia to start. The pasta dish (veal cavatelli) was laughably small - delicious but temper your expectations on portion size. We got the prime rib ($130) to share - the meat quality was not great, somewhat tough and fatty. The rib was the most underwhelming part of the meal but still good for 3 or 4 people. The chocolate ganache with black garlic and raspberry sorbet was amazing.
Pretty disappointed. Waiter was quite nice and accommodating. Kitchen really let the place down. 1 1/2 hours before the amuse bouche arrived and service didn t get any faster after that. Food was generally bland in flavor. It looked nice but didn t have taste. We spend over $900 for five. Not a great experience.
Brilliant place in an old industrial area of Montreal. They use the remnants of the history of the industry in the decor of the building with brilliant effect. When you walk in you are kissed with the beautiful smell of smoked meat and the food and service was wonderful!!
Always satisfied with the place. Atmosphere too
The dishes are good, the cuisine is relatively elaborate. The wine list is very good. But the length of the service really spoiled the meal for us. We got the starters an hour and a quarter after our arrival. The staff did not reassure us that we were taken care of or apologize. Some portions are also a bit small. What a pity!!!
Without a doubt one of the best restaurants in the province. Perfection on the plate, perfection in the service, perfection 360.
Superb experience for lunch. Mastered cuisine, all our dishes were really successful. Professional and attentive service. Beautiful large premises with wood fire in the kitchen. Highly recommended.
Weve come here once or twice a year since shortly after their opening. Weve always had great experiences! Last night was a highlight among our many visits. Its not easy to maintain consistent quality over the years, with a pandemic thrown in the mix no less. But this restaurant has done an incredible job. We brought four guests from the States and the UK who were passing through for a night. We wanted to have a guaranteed great meal with lovely service that showcased the best of Quebec ingredients. Hoogan et Beaufort really delivered! My partner and I loved our meals, as we always have. The best part was seeing the look on our guests faces when the plates were presented -- they were impressed beyond words at the gorgeous plating. And the taste and creativity in ingredient selection and preparation were top-notch as well! The service was kind and charming. Extremely professional while still friendly and warm. Our server answered our guests questions and seemed to enjoy discussing options with them. The atmosphere was lively without being over-the-top. Tables are reasonably spaced. I just want to emphasize how the staff -- both in the kitchen and front-of-house -- made a really lovely evening possible for us, from beginning to end, both with food and service. Well be back! (In case you couldnt tell)
The Hoogan et Beaufort restaurant in Montreal is a true gastronomic treasure. Their dishes are exquisite culinary creations, with bold flavor combinations and artistic presentations. The modern and elegant ambiance creates a refined atmosphere to enjoy a memorable dining experience. The attentive and competent service adds an extra touch to this exceptional dining experience in Montreal. Its the ideal place for lovers of high-end cuisine and culinary innovation.
Amazing - everything was great and honestly felt like my mind was blown for certain dishes. I particularly enjoyed the camarelle pasta with bone marrow, sundried tomatoes and beef, the oysters, and the lobster. Choc ganache was also fab. Thank you guys. Love the woodfire grill
This was our second visit to Hoogan and Beaufort and for sure not the last. The oysters with apple sabayon were completely crazy and what about the rest which was just as exceptional. Congratulations to the whole team, it s worthy of Quebec haute cuisine
Welcoming staff Here is a restaurant that does not sit on its laurels but on the contrary surpasses itself. I wish you to live the experience of refinement in the presentation while having an unexpected taste experience. For dinner: tuna, beet chips, French shallot vinaigrette. Browned on a bed of spinach and beetroot leaves, asparagus, rhubarb, eggplant and cucumber purée with fine herbs to finish in style while having an unexpected flavor, the rhubarb tartlet, elderberry meringue and its flower accompanied by a grape Kombucha granita . Well done Marc André Jetté for the consistency. This exceptional culinary demonstration from the brigade under the kindness of Bruno chef du midi. Raphaëlle W with discreet but efficient service while being attentive
quality of food very good excellent service wine very average value for money
Excellent meal and good service.
Amazing place! Love their changing menu (2-3 times a month - using seasonal dish Service is impeccable and the best wine list in the city.
Best restaurant in Montreal east of Papineau! Everything is there, truly a classic to try.
I had the privilege of dining recently at Hoogan & Beaufort in Montreal, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. The main course, GASPÉSIE LOBSTER, with its bisque, rabioles and potatoes, was simply divine. The lobster was deliciously prepared, with a rich, delicate taste that paired perfectly with the bisque. The potatoes provided a pleasant sweetness, while the rabioles were a perfect complement to the dish, bringing a variety of textures and flavors that elevated the dish to a new level. To accompany the meal, I chose an Orange wine and a Riesling. Both were incredibly good. The Orange wine had a depth and complexity that complemented the lobster wonderfully, while the Riesling was light and refreshing, providing a perfect ending to the meal. The service was also impeccable. The staff were attentive and efficient, making everything run smoothly and pleasantly. Their knowledge of food and wine was also impressive, which greatly enhanced the overall experience. I highly recommend Hoogan & Beaufort to anyone who loves good food and wine. It is without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Montreal. Whether youre a regular on the local culinary scene or just passing through town, this restaurant is a must-see. Go ahead and prepare to be amazed!
Flawless. Attentive service, sublime fresh pasta and majestic decor.
5 star service, and excellent food!! I will definitely go back!! :)
The dishes are excellent, as is the service. Note that the two times I ate there there was a vegetarian option, its really appreciated :)
Overall great experience ! Service was excellent ! Wine was great and the atmosphere was really good. We went as a group of 20 and we all had ur dishes at the same time and hot. On the other hand, the vegetarian option which I took was disapointing. I understand it is not a vegetarian restaurant, but they replaced scallops with celery, tuna with mushroom (which was the best replacement), duck with 3 almonds and deer with potatoes and carrots... I wouldve thought to have a bit more thinking into the vegetarian options (grilled tofu, seitan, lentils, mushrooms, etc.) Replacement of deer with potatoes and carrots is a bit cheap and lazy in my opinion and didnt felt at the level of the restaurant. We made a reservation, were shown to our table, waited almost 30 minutes, no one came to take our order. We left after 30 minutes. Unacceptable service!
Not cheap, but the quality of food, presentation and service is there. Im going back soon!
This is by far the best restaurant I have eaten at in years. The dishes we had were all delicious and intoxicating. The service was exceptional too. I will definitely go back.
The place to go for any food lover. Opt for a set of dishes to share between guests, it s the best way in my opinion to taste everything. Special mention to the hot oysters and desserts and to the staff of course!
We went to Hoogan and Beaufort for the second time! We were once again delighted and fulfilled. We had the tasting menu, all the dishes in each course were divine. The service was impeccable: the servers are very friendly and very dedicated! We had a wonderful evening! We will definitely return there soon!
Great food, great atmosphere. We had the tasting menu and though each service is fairly small we were totally full and everything was excellent.
amazing ! We called only a few minutes before going and they quickly found a place at the bar for us (we were two). The menu is exquisite, the food is refined and fresh. They don t have vegan nor vegetarian dishes but if you ask, they will adapt to your needs (allergies or simply no meat, no fish, ). Even though we were sitting at the bar, we had an impeccable service: attentive waiters and a nice barman! We will definitely go back!
Great Montreal discovery! The menu is well executed. We first fell in love with the hot oysters with sabayon. It was very well executed and tasty in the mouth. We had a second favorite for the dessert for which the perfect balance was achieved (financial and corn ice cream); a feast of flavors between sweet and savory. In addition, the pasta was expertly made (mezzaluna). Also, they have a nice selection of wines by the glass and the non-alcoholic options are also great. The service is friendly and the staff is knowledgeable about the products served.
Each visit brings new surprises. Extraordinary cuisine, extraordinary service from an efficient and attentive team.
Absolutely fantastic Our best restaurant so far in Montreal! We had dinner at the bar and loved it. The service was very friendly while being very professional. The divine cocktails (the Botanique, Waouw), the excellent, tasty, very beautiful and inventive dishes. This restaurant deserves a Michelin star.
Fantastic tasting menu. Successful and generous food and wine pairing for 5 people. One of my best culinary experiences in Montreal ever.
A great dining experience. We celebrated a birthday there and it was a perfect evening!
Im a foodie. I love eating at this restaurant. I am very impressed by the quality of the dishes, the taste and the presentation. They use local products as much as possible and, in my opinion, they create pure gastronomic pleasure. I highly recommend that you stop by! Kid-friendliness: This is a date night restaurant, younger kids are welcome but won t appreciate the food as much.
A very pleasant evening with friends Great discoveries An accessible tasting menu For my part, having a sweet tooth, an exploration with more sweet dessert and sweet wine at the end of the race would be good
3rd time in this restaurant and I really liked it. Thank you for your flexibility, your excellent service and your great patience. You accommodated me despite all the last minute changes and the tasting menu is delectable.
Wonderful restaurant! We had a lovely time. Our server was outstanding and the food was delectable. We had the tasting menu priced at $100 per person. It was a good choice, but we still left the restaurant a little hungry and after spending with drinks and tip almost 400, we would have expected to leave full. The food is really excellent, however, and worth the visit.
Excellent!!!!!
Excellent service and very attentive
Delicious as always, impeccable service!!
Having discovered this restaurant while tasting the discovery menu, I can only recommend it. The cuisine is as original as it is tasty, the flavors combine wonderfully. The service was very good, the only downside is the slightly noisy atmosphere of the restaurant.
What more can I say, excellent service from Maxime. A staff present, a sommelier who knows his wines and a kitchen team who perform at another level.
Wow! Place a1, the place where there is no waiting, the service is fast, complete and professional! I have never had such good service, EXCELLENT!!! What can we say about the food simply succulent, the drink, the starter, and the dish to share and the sublime dessert, the flavors in the mouth WOW! To definitely return Dietary restrictions: I have food allergies and I havent been stressed about contamination or anything else, they are perfect!
My first dinner ever in Montreal and any place else will be very hard to beat. One of the best meals Ive ever eaten.
Very good food. The wine list is incredible and very specialized in Burgundy wines. But be aware the prices are really high compared with other restaurants of the same level. The services was a bit intense as we had not only one waiter but at times 3 waiter staff coming to see us if we were ready to order. Considering our wine selections that we wanted to taste we felt rushed at a point to eat and drink but we quickly made then understand to not rush us. Its not well percieved to rush clients who just spent top dollars on top wines with food paring to get out within a 2h window. Atmosphere was a bit dull, no ambient music neither. Altought our little miss ubderstanding it became enjoyable and staff was very plesant afterwards. The food is incredible and from the region aswell
Great wine, awesome service, inspired food.
A must do. Everything was delicious. Well cooked and seasoned. Quality products. Attentive service. A nice setting. A little far from the center. We did not regret the detour
One of the best restaurant Ive ever eaton, nothing to blame, definitely Ill come back again. As a picky person for food, I really love the food the way they treat, and will recommend to all my friends. They also know very well the wine, the rosé they recommended to me is really my taste.
Absolutely delicious and completely worth it. Went for the first time with friends and we all greatly enjoyed our meals. The service was great as well and their wine pairing suggestions for my meals were spot on. For those with dietary restrictions (celiac or gluten/dairy free) you will be well catered to and you won t be the least bit hungry or feel like you missed out.
Do yourself a favor and go experience Hoogan & Beaufort: you wont regret it! Starting from the best local ingredients available, they manage to create food out of this world that youll dream about for weeks. I recommend sharing and trying everything as a group. The pastas and côte de boeuf are divine. More wine please!
everything was perfect, hot oysters with sabayon and sublime apples and gnocchi. 1st quality service.
Everything was delicious. The combination of flavors, the quality of the products, the choice of wines, the warm homemade bread... truly a great gastronomic experience.
Lovely restaurant with highly educated servers! I was treated like a princess and I really liked it! I were there for meeting a friend. I really loved the beauty of the design and the quality of the food arrangements! We ordered hot oysters to share! So delicious! & We shared a plate of chicken with my friend! So tender and well decorated with a potato salad. They have a wide wine selection as well. Highly recommended! Dietary restrictions: Variety of sans gluten dishes Parking: Angus big parking lot available!
Excellent restaurant with truly extraordinary service! Im definitely starting over!!
From service to food .... I cant remember the last time I licked every plate !! Highly recommend .
Always a pleasure to come discover whats new on their menu. Its on the pricier side but youre paying for gastronomy and art. Everything is tastefully plated and so savory. Definitely one of my favorite spots of Montreal to celebrate a special occasion.
Once again, a perfect evening! This was our 2nd time at Hoogan and Beaufort and certainly not our last. We took the tasting menu which is, in my opinion, very well priced for the quality of the cuisine served. Thanks to the whole team!
My body, my soul, my stomach every single part of me enjoyed this place! My husband took me there for my 33rd birthday and definitely one of the best restaurant that I ever experienced. À refaire!!!
Its good, well seasoned, modern plate. Beautiful atmosphere of wood-fired cooking. On the other hand, the service is too long for a weekday lunch... a lot of noise!!! Reduced portions but why not!!!
