Food was ok. Nothing special as advertised. But the service is zero! 30 minutes of waiting for one piece of fried chicken and fries with one drink + 4$ parking= 28$ for one plate of fast food. The windows are super dirty and tables are sticky and dirty!

I love this place. I recommend the New Orleans spice. Its the best on the menu. If youre African, the spicy is not actually spicy. But the chicken is always juicy and crispy for a really reasonable price.

Ah these jokers! How do you order 2 lime mojitos with 30% sugar and you get sent x2 sugar (200%) ? Like is it becoming harder to know how to read? Joker sent me maple syrup instead and I had to claim a full refund from uber eats what if Im a diabetic? (To make things worse the jokers disconnect their line when they get busy) Next time I might as well just order 2 cups of sugar and Ill pay much less. Terrible, careless and incompetent whoever did this. If the owner reads this: I was served on a Wednesday at 6.30 pm so please talk to the person who did this because it cost both you and me a loss, a free order that went to the trash. Unbelievable how people are incompetent.

Handheld lunch for a busy day, no time for sit and dine to enjoy a proper meal. Taiwanese Fried Chicken least 30 cm in size each cutlet and are so tender and juicy even if it is on the go.

It was my first time and loved it. The staff ate very friendly and the food was delicious. To visit again.

I will put 3 star for now as I did not get a chance to order the food. I cancelled my order upon hearing that I needed to wait 20-mins for the chicken. Will definitely come back in the near future to taste the chicken.

This location has really gone down hill since it first opened. The tables are all broken and lean, the bathrooms havent been cleaned in what looks like months. The chicken is also not as good quality as when it first opened.

The Korean chicken wings are one of the best in the cities. The chicken pop corn and fries are crispy and spicy. The owner was kind and welcoming. The place is clean and well maintained. Highly recommend the this place.

Fun food. Large flat chicken piece in which a bone is also part of the impressive size. It s decent fried chicken but I wouldn t recommend to the most enthusiastic of fried chicken. The drinks are also surprisingly good.

The beverages are definitely the highlight. I wouldnt recommend the original salt and pepper chicken as its a little bland and dry and it doesnt come with any sauce, tho you can ask for ketchup. Fries are good. Overall the quality is fine if you want fried chicken, but I wouldnt go out of my way to eat here. The wait time was also a bit long.

The large fried chicken is worth going to get. We got it with spicy powder. Portion size is pretty good and it definitely satisfies the crispy requirement. I wouldn t get the wings again though bc it just didn t feel like I got my moneys worth. The fries are surprisingly really good too.

To avoid there is a quantity but its really inedible, how good can you find it? Everything ended up in the trash and yet we are clearly not difficult It tastes like something stale, luckily there are a lot of spices to cover it up as best as possible. Order of around $50 with Uber Eat for two people, its clearly shameful for the price The fries are no better than the chicken they were moist and soft

Popcorn cheese tasted so bad, cheese chicken was ok but too greasy so I couldnt even eat it all, had to throw it away by the half.

Both the food and drinks were amazing l. The spring rolls were good and cheap and the fries were like Costco fries. The chicken took a bit of time to be ready but it was well worth it. The drinks were also amazing.

Got charged with no food delivered!!! Ordered with Ubereats, time for order was said to be 1 hour but after placing the order it jumped to 1 hour 45 minutes. Canceled my order less than a minute after it was placed, called the restaurant to make sure, they said the order is not canceled and that the food will be delivered. After kids are waiting for dinner for more than an hour, I call again to learn they did cancel the order 15 minutes later, did not inform me and charged me fully. Uber of course will not refund me since the restaurant claims they started to make the food before I canceled, which is a clear lie as it does not take a 2 minutes from order to food prep. What a theft!

My fav Taiwanese fried chicken place in Toronto rebranded (rip dyijia, she s not dead, she s just now a hot pot place?) and Hot Star is a great (but alas, imperfect) substitute. I want to try their other sides but I always end up getting the plum chicken and plum fries.

It s no longer expensive in Taiwan, and it s getting less and less delicious. I moved to Montreal from Taiwan for more than a month and have eaten there several times. The fried ones are even more delicious than those in Taiwan. I m surprised. I hope I can continue to maintain the quality. !

Its a very nice snack to get for the go. The best chicken is the cheese one, specially when eaten right away. Nice and crispy. Not so much when you get it for delivery... It gets very soggy

Good welcome, initially we came to eat there but it took 10 minutes for our fried chicken to be served to us even though there was no one there, so we took it away...I would have liked being warned that it was more like chicken breast and being told that there would be lots of small bones. Its very expensive to have little to eat on it!

You get big pieces but theyre full of bones. Around a third of my piece was just bones. I got the cheesy fried chicken and only like a quarter of it had any cheese in it. The chicken is otherwise dry.

Their breaded korean chicken wings are so good very good sauce and a good crunch, for their large pieces of chicken i feel like it s hit or miss sometimes they re fried good and other times not. more of a fast food type of environment, and no complaints about the customer service.

I love ordering at this place. Value wise, it walks all over KFC. I always get their 12 piece combo and that could last me 3 days. For the same price at KFC, I can easily finish everything in a single day. Their combo fried chicken are no joke either, they are so crispy, so juicy, and they are flavourful enough to be eaten without sauce. Their large fried chicken is just insane, it looks ridiculous and it looks as good as it taste. Even their drink was top notch. I did dine-in there once. It is setup like any other fast food place, so it is as good as you expect.

We love korean fried chicken more, but sometimes we also miss this taiwanese fried chicken. The first time we tried the large fried chicken was in Toronto. And then when we moved to Montreal, we were very happy seeing Hot Star. Highly recommend!

My favorite is the chicken steak with Korean sauce that is not sold in Taiwan. The portion is very generous and the chicken steak is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Highly recommended. I buy one for dinner when I can t think of anything to eat in the city center.

Spending 12 yuan more to buy a bunch of crispy crust to eat, the crust is more than the meat... Its not worth a special trip to taste, the quality is getting worse and worse, its really not worth it

Love the chickens but the sides are a bit lacking. Ordered some pop corn chicken and fried oyster mushrooms through uber eats. The popcorn chickens are too salty and the size of their fried oyster mushrooms decreased. Its like biting in 80% flour 20% mushroom.

But I d say that it s slightly overpriced, if they could lower down the price for 1-2$ it would be more reasonable.

As someone who has been living on the east coast of the United States for a while, I actually saw a huge chicken steak here. I was so angry that I had to punish this store with US dollars. Fried king oyster mushrooms and chicken steak are not things I would want to buy when I return to Taiwan. But now I would rather sacrifice my weight in exchange for this short-term happiness The moment I bit into it, I was reminded of the huge chicken steak I had eaten at the Shilin Night Market more than ten years ago. A good place for fried chicken in the city center. You dont have to be in too much of a hurry, there was a 20 minute wait for my order but it was worth it!! In short, clean dining room and bathroom, good product, good service!!

If youre going drinking in the area, this is a great place to carb load. The fried mushrooms are seriously the best thing ever.

The popcorn chicken bento is a great value. There s a generous portion of chicken and rice with a small seaweed salad and a potato salad on the side. Everything was flavourful and cooked well, and my chicken was not greasy at all.

Really tasty fried chicken, juicy on the inside and really crispy on the outside. The chicken pieces are HUGE. They make it to order so you have to wait generally about 10-15minutes for the dish to be ready. In my opinion, the seasoning on the chicken was a bit strong (way too salty) and it would have gone great with a side of fresh veggies or a refreshing salad. However, all the side dishes that are offered are also fried stuff, a little on the heavy side. Nevertheless, if you are craving good fried chicken give this place a shot.

For some unfathomable reasons they decided to wrap my fried chicken cutlet with a tissue paper, and by the time I started eating the chicken, the paper had already become soggy, dissolved by the sauce and fully melted into the chicken. This got to be the worst fried chicken cutlet ever made on this earth.

Its so sad that the food was amazingly delicious, but the way it is served ruined the whole experience. I understand that most of the meals they offer dont need a plate since they are easier to eat but hand or just using the wrapper, but the korean chicken wings were very messy and without a plate the whole thing was just a huge mess.

The staff were friendly and the food was reasonably good. I tried the original large fried chicken with salt and pepper. It is a large piece of chicken with a crispy coating. I was surprised to find bones at the bottom of the cutlet. The bones are not a deal breaker; I was just surprised that the cutlet has bones. There was something in the seasoning that did not suit my taste very well but the overall experience was a good one. I will have to try one of their other menu items the next time.

The chicken is HUGE (definitely explains the price). The flavor itself was quite good and the batter nice and crispy. The chicken was cooked well and not dry at all. A bit messy to eat (since its so huge) but so filling. Expect to wait since they make everything fresh upon order

Checked out the newly open Hot Star Large Fried Chicken in Pointe-Claire, in the same strip as Copper Branch and the Kinton Ramen. Ordered the original, salt and pepper and a cheese filled one along with a green apple yogurt drink, (not pictured because my kids chugged it down too fast.) Cooked to order so it was piping hot, super crispy and just to keep in mind, these are not boneless. Friendly service and huge portions. #supportlocal

Best Fried chicken there is. Dont believe all those picky eaters who rate 3 star and less, this is as good as youre gonna get. The large crispy fried chicken was the bomb. The price is extremely reasonable as one piece is around 10$ and is enough for two. And the flavour is amazing, staff is nice and the inside of the restaurant looks great.

This chain from Taiwan serves a gigantic piece of fried chicken that is absolutely delicious. Forget fries, sauces and promotional offers. Order just the Original Salt and Pepper Large Chicken and your favorite drink. Dont delay: Chicken is at its best when eaten as quickly as possible, still piping hot and crispy. (Even if the leftovers are very good cold the next day, on a bed of rice.) Cooking is done to order: allow at least ten minutes. And yes, there are bones to munch on in part of the piece!

Went 3 times: Service is only in Mandarin and English. A few key items are constantly sold out. Spicy flavour is merely the regular chicken with 4 coats of paprika. Conclusion: Pas pour moi, désolée!

Everything was super delicious, we got the original large fried chicken (medium spicy flavour), fried oyster mushrooms, sweet potato fries and the fried buns with sweetened condensed milk for dessert. All in all it was $25, which filled 3 people, really good value! The fried chicken had a super crispy exterior and the spicy flavour complimented the chicken very well (since it is a Taiwanese style fried chicken, all of the cutlets are seasoned with five spice, which adds a nice balance to fried foods), though it was not very spicy at all. The sweet potato fries are very large and quite sweet, alternate the chicken and sweet potato fries for a good balance. The mushrooms were perfectly cooked, tender and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The fried buns were very cute and a fun dessert, we got the custard and would try the other flavours next time. There is a bone in the fried chicken, but there is a big poster in the store which shows a picture of the bone and the best way to eat the chicken, would recommend taking a look if you re not comfortable with bones in your food. There is a 10-15 minute wait because everything is made fresh, which I really appreciate because fried foods are the best when fresh. I crave this chicken all the time also a picture of my friends because we ate everything too quickly for pictures it smelled too good
