Best breakfast sandwich in Montreal. Great food, great staff, great owner, and very reasonably priced for the quality of delicious food received!

Kind of meh to be honest. The staff is really sweet but the food leaves something to be desired. The wait times are incredibly long. There s no sense of urgency, ever. Even for simple items you ll be waiting a while for to go orders. I can appreciate the fact that they use second hand stuff to furnish their restaurant, but the decor could be a little more cohesive and a little nicer. The jazz that plays from time to time is a really nice touch. I would suggest investing in better coffee methods and baristas, better pastries that are of higher quality and less dry and boring. The food itself is very homemade and lacking the feeling of eating out. That being said, if youre looking for a local place, thats home-y and less trendy, this could be a spot for you.

A modest and casual local café with friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. On a visit to a local museum I stopped by in the morning to get a croissant. I returned three hours later for lunch. I enjoyed the vegan chili with cornbread - quite tasty and satisfying. Washed it down with a Czechvar. I will definitely return to La Luncheonette. Vegetarian options: Vegan chili, grilled cheese sandwich, breakfast burrito, bagel with pesto cheese and tomato, végépaté sandwich. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible

Amazing service and coffee in a nice chill environment

2nd visit and I really like this establishment with a quiet terrace at the back of the café. The salmon baggles are succulent. Smoothies too. Affordable prices. Friendly welcome.

No Larry David scones here, these are fresh and always changing flavors! Easily the best spot in the area for lunch, coffee, or a treat!

Fantastic find in St-Henri with a cool vibe and tasty food and drinks! I had the breakfast sandwich and flat white, which were both excellent. All of the staff are very friendly, and the service was prompt and efficient. They have a lovely terrasse out back, surrounded by greenery, or you can sit inside and enjoy the cozy decor and air conditioning. Looking forward to trying more of their menu in the future (will definitely be back for the veggie paté). A true gem!

My favourite neighbourhood cafe - Luncheonette has character, great sandwiches, friendly staff, and an amazing playlist. Their terrasse is tucked away behind the cafe and easy to miss, but its a lovely shady and quiet spot.

The sandwiches here are delicious, but they are on the expensive side - with a drink and a tip it will come to just over 20 dollars. The coffee is below average but costs the same better- brewed coffee in this neighbourhood. The staff are polite and friendly, but the service is frustratingly slow by times. They used to take orders at the counter and run the orders to the tables- they now offer (require) table-service for dine-in customers, but they are not yet well equipped to offer service in this way. I find it slows things down even more for customers, as my understanding is that customers must first alert staff to their presence by waiting at the counter. Today I left after waiting ten minutes at my table for somebody to take my order. It was not exceptionally busy.

We were really looking for a brunch but stumbled on La Luncheonette so in we went. Its friendly and cosy, and a popular local cafe. We had a couple of coffees, a couple of BLT croissants and a scone. Everything was fine but didnt really do what we wanted, but that was our problem. Anyway, its a perfect place for a coffee and snack!

Absolutely love this gem in the neighborhood! This place has become my absolute favorite, offering a delectable array of dishes, including fantastic vegetarian and vegan options. The cozy ambiance adds an extra layer of comfort to the experience (with a backyard terrasse during the summer). My go-to choice is their grilled cheese with caramelized onions. And, oh, the cake of the day is a delightful touch whether its the rum cake or the cinnamon and chocolate cake, I can never resist. What truly sets this place apart is the warm and welcoming staff. They are not only friendly but go out of their way to make you feel at home. As a parent, its incredibly reassuring to find a baby-friendly spot, complete with high chairs and a patient and accommodating atmosphere. I frequently bring my little one along, and the staff and fellow clients alike make it a stress-free experience. The prices are very fair (and taxes are included!). I recommend it warmly for those looking for a comfortable dining experience in the neighborhood.

My favorite neighborhood spot since I moved to St Henri almost 3 years ago :) Staff is nice and the food is delicious. I like to bring friends and family here and they fall in love with it as well. In the winter, the interior is so cozy and in the summer they have a cute patio! An overall charming atmosphere.

Everyone is nice here

Happy to have this neighbourhood spot! We often go for the croissant déjeuner which is the best in the area. Juicy and tasty - croissant always crunchy and buttery. Mouthwatering. The coffee is not great but the smoothies are awesome! Definitely recommend the smoothies. The ambiance is friendly and cozy - I have even worked there 1-2 times, as well, just for a relaxed ambiance. I give it 5 stars as they care about their products, feedback, staff & customers. Truly a gem for St-Henri!

Wow!!! truly a hidden gem in Montreal. I decided to stop by on my way to the airport back to Vancouver. I grabbed some lunch and I grabbed a few items to take back with me for the plane ride. I love croissants so I decided to grab three to share with my family at home, but when I got home and opened the bag, I saw an extra croissant!! it felt so nice that the staff tried to make my visit to the café a little extra special. I will be recommending this place to everybody! The staff are truly kind, the food is absolutely delicious (pesto is unreal) and the vibe is phenomenal. Thank you for giving me a wonderful experience. I cannot wait to come back again someday!!

Really comfortable cafe with great food and service! Their pastries are good, but their sandwiches (Turkey pesto, etc) are what really stand out. They are a bit pricey at $12-$13 but they are delicious! It s a really nice space with lots of light and live plants, as well as a chill terrace in the back.

Yummy turkey sammy!

Cute little place with good food if youre in the area. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a strawberry rose smoothie. The sandwich came on a toasted brioche bun, with the pork being very tender and a very tasty sweet BBQ sauce. The smoothie was also good, the rose was very subtle but still noticeable, otherwise it was a standard smoothie. Overall, the place had a very nice charm with locals dining in. I would definitely go back to this place!

La luncheonette is a perfect place to catch up with old friends or meet with new ones. The atmosphere is so welcoming and cozy and the best place to be on a cold winters day. The sun streaming in and all of the beautiful plants in this cafe make you forget about the cold and warm you up with a hot cup of coffee. The food is delicious and the staff very welcoming. I cant recommend this place enough!

Best croissant in the area. They make heart-shaped gingerbread with almond paste, a delight. In addition, they give us a 10% discount when we arrive early (between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.). A discount if you bring your own cup, an eco-responsible coffee to discover!

prices are fair, the breakfast croissant was great, eggs made just to the right level, crispy bacon and flaky croissant. The moka tho tasted like filtered coffee with some chocolate in it, watery, burning hot and just unpleasant

Nice little cozy cafe, very good service

Small café and cozy especially for a winter day. There s an outdoor terrace that s also nice during good weather. Service was quick, but we only ordered drinks. We got iced-chai for $7 each. It s quite pricy for a glass of chai half-filled with glass. My friend the chai was dull. I thought it was good after I added an alternative sugar (I think it was called Twinner). You also have many vegan milk options in addition to the regular. But the windows and the vibe is so cute!

The staff is very nice there ! Thats the only reason why I gave a 3 stars tbh. Unfortunately, the food is very mediocre. Its sad cause I heard good things about them. I tried the Soupe du jour, which was a cauliflower soup, but it was extremely blend. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper to have a decent taste. It wasnt bad, just blend. They seem like they never have grilled cheese ? which is very odd. I mean, I came here multiple times because thats what their known for (from what Ive heard). Itll take literally just 5 min to make one on the spot that isnt pre-made, but they dont make the effort. Its a shame. (Note that I tried to come at different hours everytime). Their croissant déjeuner is very poorly made. Either I dont have a tomato in it, or its one that is white and very hard. For 8$ a sandwich, I expect it to be better that the average for something so simple, not below. Also their wifi doesnt work ? Even after I asked for it, nothing worked. Not practical if you go in a café to work a little or do homeworks. But the vibe and the employees are nice.

Excellent place to sit and study/work in Saint-Henri, with a lovely atmosphere, beautiful decor and always good music. Very good food (with delicious vegetarian options) and very good coffee, there are even alcoholic beverages on the menu. The team is always pleasant and efficient. There is also a small terrace behind. Encourage local, I highly recommend!

Wonderful vibe, great food, great people. Except the smell is absolutely unbearable. I m not smell-sensitive and I ve never had an experience like this: there is no kitchen ventilation and the smell of burnt fat is so suffocating I had to leave. All my clothes had to go in the wash to get the burnt smell out. I feel really sorry for the employees, speaking as an ex-barista it isn t healthy for them (nor the customers) to be breathing this. This place has so much potential and I hope the owner reads this and invests in the little it takes to add some simple ventilation.

La Luncheonette makes an excellent homemade chai latte. One of the best in the city, as many places use weak pre-mix syrup. The owner is a lovely woman who cares a lot about fresh, quality meals and treats. The service is always fantastic, and I really appreciate the hustle of their staff. Way to go, Jess. I love your groovy little cafe.
