Absolutely delcious!! We had seafood linguine and beef ravioli. And meatballs are a must. Service was outstanding, would recommend again and again.

A great discovery for MTL at the table, the main course was simply delicious! Homemade gnocchi with ricotta and mushrooms, I think these are the best gnocchi I have ever eaten in my life!! I also tasted my cousins dish who had opted for Lobster Ravioli and Saffron Sauce, delicious!! The starter was, however, very classic but the dessert was able to spice it up with its pretty crazy vegan version, ranging from brownies to vanilla ice cream. Very friendly and caring service. We had the pleasant surprise of being offered a rose when we left. A pleasant evening at Muscadin

Delicious food, good service, conveniently located in the heart of old Montreal yet not a tourist trap. You can tell people here take pride of everything they do. The owner walking around the restaurant talking to staff and guests. We were under dressed from walking around town but were treated with respect. Glad we chose this place the last day of our Montreal trip.

From the moment you step into this beautiful, elegant restaurant, to the moment you leave, you feel so very welcomed. All our dishes were so flavourful and had such a lovely presentation . The service is impeccable! It is by far the best restaurant we have ever been to. The food and service are absolutely unparalleled!! We have not stopped taking about it! Best Italian cuisine in the city, and one of the best restaurants in the city. Waiters and staff make you feel like home, Owner is around to spark conversation with everyone, live and subtle music/musician , affordable and reasonable , very very generous pasta portions , fresh and tender meat dishes. Vibe and atmosphere is authentic, not pretentious . Do not skip on this resto (even though you may not find it on top-10 lists). 10/10 all around.

We discovered this restaurant by chance a few years ago and it was love at first sight. We are from Quebec and we take advantage of our few annual visits to Montreal to enjoy this wonderful place. We were only in Montreal for a few days and decided to treat ourselves to celebrate a special night out. We dont usually go to Italian restaurants but the experience in Le Muscadin will make us come back. The service was exceptional especially Josie and team. The attention to detail in every aspect, from the service to the presentation of the dishes was nothing short of superb. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every need was met, offering a level of hospitality that we dont often come across. The pasta and risotto were amazing! Overall, we will definitely recommend and come back when were in town.

The service was good, but I find the food quite simple and basic for a so-called fine cuisine place. Not sure if its the restaurant or Italian cuisine in general, but Im really unimpressed. The culinary experience doesnt justify the price. I walked away feeling extorted.

Highly recommend Vongole pasta. No sandy feeling at all and feels fresh. Overall service is great. Everyone took care of us well. Just missing one star because it was bit hard to find the entrance and confusing. So, if they could improve this part with sign, it would be better.

MEMORABLE. BEST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER

Today Ive had dinner at Le Muscadin. The atmosphere was right, dim lights, not too much noise and a tasteless decoration. Ive had two of the less expensive dishes of the menu. As appetizer Lumache alla Piemontese (snails in sauce). The snails were served in a plate bathed on a dairy (milky) sauce. Not bad, but it was all based in the flat taste of the milky sauce. As second course Spaghetti alla Carbonara. Again that milky sauce, not something apparently made with pecorino or parmigiano-reggiano in egg yolks, a taste of salty guanciale and a touch of freshly ground peppper. Ive tasted considerably better carbonaras. To drink a glass of prosecco, nothing to remember, and a correct glass of a house red wine, with hints of minerals and red fruits. The service wished bon appetit and asked if everything was all right a few times during the dinner. The bill, otrageosly expensive as is common in Montreal.96 CAD after taxes and tip, equivalent to 65 EUR, which buys you an exceptional dinner in Rome. God forgive me, thats what I think.

You never know what experience you will have as a solo diner. I tried to dine here a few months ago but there was no availability. This time I made sure to make a reservation and was not disappointed. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left I was treated as a friend. The food was fantastic, I enjoyed listening to conversations of the other diners, and most importantly, everybody made my evening away from home feel like home. I will certainly return when Im back in the area. Oh, and try the pistachio pasta!

My girlfriend and I took a trip to Montreal to get our minds off midterms. Chose to stay at Maison St Vincent Hotel, which is right across from Le Muscadin, and decided to have dinner there. Was blown out of the water with the service, care, and quality that we experienced. Due to it being International Women s Day my girlfriend was treated to a free glass of sparkling wine that she adored. We both agreed that we had one of the best dining experiences while eating. Utterly phenomenal.

In my experience, it is the best Italian restaurant on the island of Montreal. For once, it is completely authentic and the service is precise and friendly. You feel good there, the atmosphere is calm and the dishes were all, without exception, the best Italian dishes I have eaten in Montreal. I highly recommend it, the prices are absolutely reasonable.

Absolutely fantastic Restuarant. Amazing service with great food and an extensive wine list. Went with my bf for a short trip to Montreal and this was literally the highlight of the weekend. Everything was perfect from start to finish.

I had reserved a table at Le Muscadin in the old town. It is a small family-run restaurant that father and daughter Leo and Josie Iacono run together with Josies husband. I had the pleasure of greeting all three of them. To eat I had fresh spaghetti with pistachio, pesto and burrata. Simple but good. Especially when olive oil and cheese like here maintain a high quality In addition, I drank half a bottle of Chianti Classico from the super year 2021.

Ive been here twice now and am once again rather unimpressed. The price for the food is unjustified. The lamb ragu was hardly a ragu. Between the small chunks of cut lamb and the thin acidic sauce, it was less than enjoyable. The decor is so ugly and dated, I really dont get the appeal.

We have been going to the Muscadin for 30 years although they have changed their location since. The amazing food and service are always the same as well as the wine cellar. You Must go at least once. Im sure that you will go back.

- person who took our coats was very friendly but managed to squeeze in some gaslighting with his charming personality - bread basket was perfection, soup was bland, braised pork risotto was only okay, tortellini was not al dente, pistachio ice cream was alright but coating overpowered the overall flavour and texture, and the tiramisu was surprisingly dry - server was absolutely lovely and did his job really well, even apologized for the other mans behaviour (who took my plate away and pressured me to finish my friends leftover melted ice cream even though I said no) - if you have dust/pet/environmental allergies and/or asthma, suggest avoiding this place if you dont have meds - might be worth another try in case this was just an off night for them, but personally dont plan on going back as there are other Italian restaurants in Montréal with better quality control Thanks for trying Le Muscadin but I wont be back

We came as walk-ins on a Friday evening and were surprised that they were not so busy and they took our coats and sat us at a nice table. They serve a complimentary bruschetta to start and it was delicious. I had the clam linguini with a wonderful glass of pinot grigio. The owner was hanging around making the Crêpe Suzette for the neighbouring tables and it made for a fun side show with dinner. The desserts are worth saving space for. We had the moistest tiramisu ever and a cannoli with rich ricotta filling.

Best service and eats in MTL hands down! From time we stepped in, my husband and I were greeting with such warm and homey vibes. Josie and staff really made us feel at home and went above and beyond for our first honeymoon dinner date. The staff were very attentive, and the pasta was one of the best weve ever had. My husband and I both enjoyed each of our meals and agreed that our meals were the best weve ever tasted, and we loooove Italian food! Its safe to say that well add this to our list of MTL eats whenever were back in town!

This was an absolute gem in Old Montréal! The service was incredible, and the owner and his daughter were active on the floor welcoming customers and making crepes! :) We were welcomed with fresh bruschetta and had an amazing meal paired with a wine recommendation from the owner. We had the burrata spaghetti and tiger shrimp dish. The crepes were outstanding to finish the meal! The most special touch was getting a rose at the end of the evening! 11/10 is the rating I would give. This restaurant gives the experience of being hosted at a friend s nonna s house. The warm and family atmosphere makes us feel like we are part of the family. The food is succulent and authentic. The service is quick and the portions are very generous. If we compare it to other similar restaurants in the old port, it is definitely a hidden gem. Muscadin deserves to be better known and I recommend it to everyone (especially the carbonara and the pistachio spaghetti with burrata. These dishes are among the best pastas I have eaten). We had such a wonderful experience at Le Muscadin for my Dad s 70th Birthday/Retirement! We came to visit from Chicago. The food was very great and came out hot! Loved that it is a family run restaurant. Josie was very helpful from the beginning of our reservation process to the night of our dinner. We all got different food options and everything was delicious, including the drinks. Great portion sizes as well! Definitely come for a visit!

This is the epitome of 5 star! If you want to enjoy everything amazing and really impress a date , this is the place for you. The carpaccio is the best EVER and sliced at your table (a must have). Upon recommendation by the owner, I ordered liver and onions (which I dont normally dare at a restaurant) ... o.m.g.... my grandmother would approve! To end the night, we each had a different dessert, and they were all amazing. I cant wait to go back next time were in Montreal!

We held our civil wedding at Le Muscadin and we do not regret it one ounce! A special thank you to Josie for being simply an exceptional coordinator. She went above and beyond to accommodate us in every way imaginable, and took away much of the stress in regards to planning, all while holding the warmest smile on her face! The rest of the staff are extremely courteous, respectful and friendly and made sure that we as well as all of our guests felt welcomed all throughout the night. The food is also delectable! We went to the restaurant 2 separate times before our wedding, and never had a single dish disappoint us! On our special night, all the food, from the canapés, to the main courses, to the cocktails were also delicious. Overall, if I could give this establishment 6 stars, I would not hesitate an instant. Highly recommend it to all!

We hadnt been to Le Muscadin in several years. Have we ever missed out! The service, food, and atmosphere is worth the price. We had the barley soup, meatballs, the seafood risotto, and the penne in a rosee-pepper sauce. All was wonderful. We will return.

Service was top notch and staff were always on the ball, making sure everything was to our liking and made sure our glasses of water were never empty. On the way out, the lady wished us a great night and a happy anniversary alongside with a rose for my girlfriend which was the cherry on top for this restaurant. 10/10 recommend for everyone to go. I had booked for a group of 16 people. They opened the restaurant earlier to accommodate us. We were received like kings & queens. Attentive staff, attentive, discreet and present at the same time. We didnt lack anything. We were all served at the same time and we all enjoyed ourselves. One person had a gluten allergy and was accommodated. I will return without hesitation so I highly recommend it.

We had an amazing experience for our 26th year anniversary supper. The staff was great, the food was great, the owner took time to say hello and was nice enough to give my wife a rose on the way out. I would highly recommend Le Muscadine to anyone. I had the 2 peppercorn steak, it was cooked to perfection. My wife had the veal, and was very happy with it. Thank you for making our anniversary supper a night to remember.

Good Italian fare with great live entertainment.

Last night was probably one of my favorite meals ever. Not only because of the food but the experience itself was absolutely phenomenal. I went to the restaurant with a party of 12, 10 of us being college students (culinary students). The food- amazing. The staff- amazing. The guitarist- absolutely made our night! We sung Bon Jovi s livin on a prayer and it was the absolute greatest vibe in the restaurant! All of the staff were very funny and kind. Had the calamari, meatballs, ribeye, espresso martini, cannolis, and had the table side made crepes-Suzette! Dinner and a show was such a treat! 5 stars wasn t enough to rate this experience absolute 10s across the board! A must eat!

Recently went for dinner on a Tuesday evening with a business group of twelve. Le Muscadin has been in existence for quite a while at several different locations and this version is as good as ever. The interior is well laid out and our large table had plenty of room around us as well as personal elbow room. The staff are exceptionally friendly and menu knowledgeable. This is considered a top tier fine Italian eatery and the menu reflects its status. Menu is such that there will be something for everyone. My food was delicious and everyone else seemed to enjoy theirs, The owner recommended antipasto course was exceptional in variety, preparation, quality and taste. This was a great choice for our large group as many places jam in a large group. Not here, and so we all had a great time and enjoyed an exceptional meal. Parking is old Montreal limited so suggest you Uber It, and that will allow you to fully enjoy their wine cellar. Highly recommend.

This was the BEST experience we have had at a restaurant in all of Montreal. Being gluten free, it has been hard to enjoy a proper meal without being difficult at a restaurant. The staff here went ABOVE AND BEYOND any expectations we had. They have many gluten free options including bread and dessert. The food was incredible and the service WOW. They made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. We didn t want to leave!! This will now be our go to!

My favourite dish : Lumache alla Piemontese Escargots, sauce crémeuse à l ail et vin blanc Snails in creamy white wine and garlic sauce. 10/10 Main dish: Tagiatelle Ai Castagne e Porcini. 10/10 generous portion. Dessert: Tiramisu, was okay but noting wow, comparing to having it in Italy. Since I travel often to Rome, Venice, etc. Overall I strongly recommend this beautiful restaurant in the lovely old-port of Montreal. I will be definitely going back sometime in 2024 and try other dishes on their menu. Thank you

The food is very delicious, especially the lobster ravioli which I cannot recommend enough. The service is even better. This is will be regular stop for me when I m in Montreal.

Very quiet location, personalized service and excellent wines

The service is amazing! The atmosphere is incredible! The people there are amazing! The dishes are incredible, I would even say without any hesitation the best I have ever eaten and I have visited a range of restaurants in Montreal and all over the world but this one fully deserves a perfect score of 100%! The staff are exemplary, attentive and very professional! We came here based on the high level of reviews for this restaurant. We were not disappointed. The service was excellent and the food was incredible. Definitely the highlight of our trip to Montreal. And one of the owners was very friendly and came to our table several times to check on us throughout our meal and a quite appreciate that.

First time we went there for my partners birthday. Excellent Italian restaurant. The Italian atmosphere is there, the music, the employees, etc. At reception, you feel like a VIP. All the little touches make the difference from other restaurants. The quality of the food is a tick above and the prices are average. The manager/owner is very attentive and came several times to make sure everything was correct. We even got a rose at the end of the evening. We will definitely return!

Family run gem nestled in old Montreal. Italian family run restaurant with recipes from southern Italy.... Excellent food, wide variety, large portions, friendly and inviting ambiance and amazing staff. We love the restaurant and try to get reservations when in Montreal...It never disappoints. I was visiting Montreal in July and unfortunately experienced a medical event and it happened to take place in front of Le Muscadin. A person from the restaurant (maybe the owner or manager as the restaurant was closed at the time) noticed, came out to help and even provided me some type of fancy water. If I ever come back to Montreal, I would definitely support Le Muscadin! Thank you for your kindness.

Very nice place to eat and eat well in good company

Amazing service and fantastic food. Lively and very sociable staff, who somehow check on you often but never feel invasive. Every single plate was delicious. Even the garlic or tomato toasts served à volonté during the meal are very delicious.

We had an excellent meal here this evening. I had the pasta with chestnuts and mushrooms. The pasta is fresh and smooth and the sauce with the main ingredients was delicious. We didn t have any wine or appetizers as we were just a bit full from an earlier meal.

Our first day in Montreal and we decided to go here based in the reviews. Restaurant location was in a nice place. We were greeted by a very friendly Italian family. We had the burrata which was really good. The soup of the day potato and leek was ok ish. For the main, the veal and lamp chops were delicious. The staff were super friendly and the whole experience was nice. Restaurant was pricey.

We were a group of seven and everyone except two ordered different dishes. Unanimous across the board, the food was exquisite. The tastiest dish of all (because that person was unable to finish and most got to try) was the Spaghetti con Pistacchi e Burrata. This dish provides an explosion of flavour and packs a lot of heartiness. It was actually the dish I was going to take based on the photos and ingredients which I happen to like every one of them. I instead chose the rabbit and did not regret my choice. Expertly prepared with the sauces just marrying perfectly with the dish. Although the spaghetti dish (and everyone agreed) was the most punch in the mouth flavor, it is likely by far the heaviest dish to digest and after two forks that I tried, I could not imagine having had an entire plate. The ambiance with the owner and musician was absolutely pleasant without being overbearing. Definitely a place that needs to be visited more frequently to discover the menu. Dietary restrictions: Since most of their cooking is à la minute they can easily accommodate for any dietary or allergy restrictions. Kid-friendliness: Two kids in our group and they had no problem choosing something from the menu

This place gives off an authentic Italian vibe. The restaurant is family owned and ran and it shows. The owner and his daughter are good company and showed real interest and passion for their business and this shows in their food as well. The food was delicious and well prepared and the staff was very helpful in their recommendations. The location and ambience was nice and really added to the homey feel an authentic Italian restaurant is supposed to have. Will definitely visit again when were in town!!

More than 3 weeks traveling for business in North America I arrived to Montreal, I love this city very much. Having free dinner, I needed a little coccola like a mama s warm place. Arriving to Le Muscadin I was welcoming by the owner with a big smile and she gave me immediately a table. The atmosphere was perfect, soft live music by Salvatore. I had the antipasto and rigatoni alla amatriciana , closing the eyes I felt to be to Trastevere in Rome. I had a great 2014 Brunello di Montalcino. Cannoli Siciliani was the perfect end of dinner. Le Muscadin is my favourite Italian restaurant in all of Montreal. The food is truly phenomenal, and the service is impeccable. By far the best Italian Restaurant in the city! The service, ambiance and food was absolutely incredible. They also have an impeccable list of wines to choose from (their experienced staff did a great job at pairing the wines with our food). Easily one of the best dining experiences we ve ever enjoyed in Montreal. We can t say enough about the food, the menu, and the impeccable service. We were warmly greeted and made to feel welcome, and at all times the team was engaged and completely professional. We enjoyed the lobster fra-diavolo and the shrimp provonciale (after starters of burrata and prosciutto) but could have easily chosen several other options that looked fantastic. We ll be back to enjoy the first-class service and wonderful food again!

The place is quite cozy, you feel like you are going to someones house for dinner, however my companion and I felt a certain rejection from the staff. We are Latinos and we both have experience in restaurants. Here are our comments based on the experience we lived. (It should be noted that it was the first time we visited the place, so we do NOT know its staff or its owners and the review is IMPARTIAL). The waiter did not explain the menu to us like the other diners and when we consulted the hostess, she said that it was not necessary to explain it to us. We looked at the options and finally ordered the antipasto misto, however the shrimp was not fresh; the squid, the eggplant and the rest, very delicious. They took a while to remove the dirty plate after the antipasto, while they quickly removed the plates from the other tables, more than 4 people passed by ours without even making an attempt. Finally one of the waiters noticed us and they removed them. I ordered the spaghetti with pistacchi and burrata, it was pretty good. My companion ordered linguine frutti di mare, however they served him spaghetti. The problem is not that they had the type of pasta or not, but that they simply served it, they did not excuse themselves or explain We do not have linguine out of minimal respect for the diner, I assume that they thought that we do not know about types of pasta. My companion ate it in silence, however this type of subliminal discriminatory behavior is totally inappropriate, even more so with his clients. Not satisfied, my companion had not noticed that they put a small plate on one side to place the clam shells, so he placed them on another small plate that we had on hand; The owner approached and proceeded to tell him This other plate was for the clams, but well, its too late. The truth is, it made him feel a little silly, for placing the clams on the wrong plate and all this in front of the diners at the next table. I think it would be more objective and comfortable to simply remove the leftover plate silently. Finally we ordered tiramisu for dessert, I with cappuccino and my companion with regular coffee and cream. I must say they were both delicious. We finished our dinner and left more than satisfied with the food, but very disappointed in the service. Would I go back? I dont know, I still have the feeling that they discriminate against their diners. Food 8/10 Service 2/10
