Rating on a uber delivery. Cannot rate service of atmosphere. Wonton and noodle soup was a big disappointment. Wontons were soggy balls of flour. Seems they had stayed in water for too long. The additional noodles were of same consistency and there was very little broth. Overall feels like a lump of flour. 3 leaves of baby bokchoi as “vegetables”
Great little dumpling place in Westmount. We had the lamb and coriander dumplings steamed, the pork and leek dumplings fried, peanut dumpling and spicy cucumber for apps, and sesame balls to finish. Every single item was fresh, flavourful and well made.
So the reason why I gave this place 5 stars for atmosphere is because it matches its value product offering - Meaning, they pricing is extremely fair and their quality, freshness, and portions as well as taste exceed their pricing. We had number 8 shrimp wonton soup for two with bok choy and noodles, with a sesame finish that was so excellent you don’t even need to add soy or anything as the broth is beyond delicious. I could have a bowl of broth alone and be happy. The soup came with 8 sizeable wontons that were fantastic and juicy and filled with shrimp. 🍤 We then had number 35 dumpling filled with shrimp 🍤 , porc 🐖 and chives and it was cooked fried as you can tell. It needed no additional seasoning or sauce once again - a testament to their ability to create deep balanced umami flavours perfectly on its own without needing extras. The soup was $9.99 and the dumplings (15 of them) was $23.99 - well worth it. And we got two wonton cookies with the usual message inside and they were a great end to the meal. Next time we plan to try the chicken and mushroom dumplings and hope to have enough room to try the fried sesame balls with red bean paste inside. Yummy right! Very important to know, the owner is so genuine and sweet. She is so appreciative of her customers and runs around the restaurant keeping customers happy while making sure the cash and take out are also managed. enjoy all.
HIDDEN GEM ALERT! 💎 What an absolute find. This is a place that prides itself on its homemade, fresh, tasty dumplings. We ordered the #35, shrimp pork and chive dumplings. Immediately, you can tell the dumplings are hand made, fried or steamed to order. They're not even soup dumplings, but they are still juicy and full of flavor. They were served piping hot and we had all the right table ingredients to make dumpling sauce (soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil). When you open the dumplings, you can see pieces of whole shrimp, pork and chives, so you know it's real ingredients. Alex was extremely kind, hardworking and passionate. He was very friendly, fast service and knows his dumplings! I would keep coming here again and again. The inside of the restaurant is simple, very clean and feels very cozy. I hope people try this place. I hope this place becomes popular and people start coming here more and more. Give it a shot, you won't have regrets.
The service was perfect, the gentleman that served us was polite. and our food was prepared and a very timely manner. The peanut butter dumplings both fried and steamed were exceptional. The best peanut butter sauce I've had in a long time. We had the tofu, pork and shrimp dumplings which are all delicious. My 16-year-old had a matcha bubble tea which was not too sweet as most other bubble teas tend to be. Overall very pleased and highly recommend.
Great food! Great service! Very friendly staff! Our dumplings were absolutely delicious! Steamed to perfection! The price was great also - 15 for $12.99. I highly recommend this restaurant. Yes the floors could use a mop but it seamed very clean otherwise- yes the kitchen looked very clean. Will be back!
Love my green bean pea and vermicelli dumplings and it was really relaxing but the only thing I’d suggest is not using plastic packaging for the sauce especially when you eat in person! (Edit: they solved this issue by either letting me fill my bowl within the resto or reusing the plastic containers) I pay extra to eat in person to help reduce plastic from takeout. Thank you and I’ll be back to try the other 3 veg dumpling options soon :) :) Edit : I returned and tried the veggie egg and spinach dumplings and they were amazing and the waitress let me make a bowl of sauce myself so I didn’t have to take the plastic ones. I suggest everyone do this for environmental reasons ☺️ looking forward to trying the tofu dumplings and the broccoli dumpling. Edit 3: Tried the tofu mushroom cabbage dumplings and they were great
Great tasting dishes- kids loved the chicken and rice dish. Vege dumplings were great. 4 of us ate 2 dishes for less than $40 and spring rolls. and we had left overs, favorite place so far. Chicken and salad were tasty. Not new looking but worth the food. There is ac in the restaurant and generally clean.

First of all the staff is adorable, super soft spoken and kind. There was a small waiting time and the food was delicious. I forgot to take pictures because i was too busy devouring the dunplings They served the dumplings with a kind of spicy soy sauce? Idk but i loved it. I also took sesame balls for dessert. They tasted fresh, and were not too sweet, so perfect. Really happy with the experience, 10/10 food 10/10 staff

I had the fried curry chicken dumplings made fresh which I enjoyed with the soya blend hot sauce on the table.The spring rolls are a great appetizer.The menu offers a variety of choices served with rice and salad. Simple seating and atmosphere but if youre hungry enjoy!

The best dumpling place Ive ever eaten at! The service is amazing, Alex is very friendly and makes you feel very comfortable from the moment you enter the restaurant. The food is delicious, they serve very quickly and everything with great quality. I usually go every week to eat and they have never disappointed me.
Their dumplings taste ok (the pork & chives ones are better than the pork & green onion ones) but their food is not suitable for anybody who suffers from MSG allergies. We even asked for them to not use MSG in their food and they took our order, our payment and made the delivery with a note on the plate saying Dear Customer: We cannot remove it. rejecting our request to not use MSG. They put a lot of MSG into their food to enhance the taste that it left a very strong aftertaste in our mouth afterwards. Our mouths were so dry and we were so thirsty after eating their dumplings that we had to drink several bottles of water to quench ourselves. So if you suffer severe MSG allergies, its best to avoid ordering from this place. Otherwise the food is fine. Our favourite is their potherb mustard and edamame beans. Its really good. If they can cook it without the sesame oil and cook the edamame beans a bit more, it would be even better.

Ive been twice and the food was delicious both times. I first tried the breaded pork served with rice, salad and Katsu sauce. It was a bigger quantity than I thought. Its very filling. The meat was nicely crispy and the salad dressing was good. Next I tried the dumplings with proc, shrimp and scallops. I was worried that 15 dumplings would be too much for one person, but it was perfect. The service is good. However, you have to be lenient, because it is a popular restaurant with deliveries. I definitely plan to go back. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible, as you have to go down steps to enter.
Their dumplings are absolutely delicious, no matter how you order them--steamed or fried. My favourite are the lamb and coriander dumplings as well as the egg and shrimp ones, which are the finest Ive had in Montreal.
We order from Meiwei every week and the dumplings are consistently amazing. High quality ingredients and the pan fried dumplings never taste too oily. Highly recommend.
When I first tried this restaurant, it was a last minute lunch. Ive never regretted going and Ive brought many friends there. The dumplings are well priced and the service is good. I give this place 5 star because Im not a fancy food critic, Im looking for comfortable, well priced, good food.

Great family-owned dumpling place with lovely people. Super reasonable price, good portions, and delicious hand-made dumplings. My favourites are the pork and green onions & mushroom and chicken. Their marinated kelp and hot and sour are amazing as well. They re a small restaurant with only one cashier/server so be patient with them when they re busy :)
This is by far the best dumpling in Montreal. The service is excellent. It has such a comforting and casual atmosphere, which makes it the perfect place for a regular meal. The sesame balls for dessert are particularly wonderful! We come here any time we re in the area!

I ve been coming here since they opened. I love thé food. It s awesome. Super great taste. Lamb coriander is amazing. I m writing a mediocre review here for one important reason. Over the past few years the place has become more and more dirty. Every time I walk into it you can tell right away that cleanliness is not a priority. The floors do not get washed regularly. I have attached photos for you to see. Please please improve the basic cleanliness of the restaurant cause I love the food. But I do worry how clean the parts of the kitchen I do not see are.

Ah ma zing. Authentic homemade Chinese food that tastes (almost) better than my grandmas. We knew the dumplings were delicious, but youve also got to get the hot and sour soup.

The second time I visited, this time I ordered appetizers, which were cool in summer and tasted good. The shrimp wonton noodles were also delicious. The beef and mutton pan-fried dumplings also tasted good, but the meat was a bit hard. I will continue to patronize next time

the dumpling are out of this world. once you get past the soft little blanket that holds them together, they explode in your mouth in a warm comforting and delicious feeling and it is simply the best ever.

This place needs to clean their floors. It is so filthy, I could not enjoy my meal plagued with horrific imagery forming in my brain about the level of hygiene in the kitchen.
I was discriminated for my skin colour and how I look, I was with my friend and my little brother of 16 years old. As soon as we walked in we asked to dine in for 3 people, the man at the counter told us to leave and there s a new policy that we cannot dine in, meanwhile there was 2 people dinning in. I asked him what the policy is and he told us to not worry we cannot dine in. He even threatened to call the cops or there will be problems. 0 stars never going back again. This is discrimination to the max

Very disappointing. Wet to get frozen dumplings to take home, Expensive, the same price as cook and serve...The same amount of dumplings that is was cook and to add up to my disappointment they charge me tax on frozen food......Hope they taste better then all the other places...

Delicious lamb dumplings
The bubble tea? Fantastic. The dumplings? Best in Montreal. I order from here regularly and the food is consistently amazing, plus the portion sizes are very generous for the price. I also dined in for the first time recently and although there wasn t a ton of seating room, the waitress was super friendly and the food arrived quickly, even though they were getting a lot of food delivery orders. They also have so many vegan dumpling and bubble tea options!

Good food, less than optimal experience come time to pay the bill. Service understably not their brightest spot given lack of staff, with seemingly the owner left to take orders in person, answer phone calls for orders, deal with delivery apps (Doordash, Uber Eats, etc.) as well as waiting tables. The waiting of tables took the fall here as there was another diner who had to bring their own plates in, and for my table, had to wait 5 minutes before getting utensils, water, cups, etc. We had wanted to get a takeout container for the remainder of our food, but again given that they lacked staff, we were largely ignored. The only reason why its not lower is because of the food itself. The negative aspect is when it came time to pay, my father corrected the lady running the one-man show for the amount he gave her, for her to then get upset because we didnt tip right then and there. Gratuities ARE NOT MANDATORY! Its something the diner offers to give in addition depending on the service received; the audacity of owners these days thinking theyre entitled to it is ludicrous. Hopefully they lose that entitlement, otherwise food-wise it was delicious.

Very good Pork+Chive Steamed Dumplings and excellent Won Ton Soup. The Won Tons in the soup were perfect. The dumplings are sold in a big batch so be wary. Youll need to refrigerate the extras or share them with someone. Perfect for local eaters or for drivers with a small detour from the highway 15.

11/10- food was divine, cozy atmosphere and the fellow who runs the counter is very kind.
The dumplings are very decent - probably some of the best ones (only ones?) in the area. Im just happy to have found somewhere to get bubble tea around here. The tapioca bubble texture are sometimes a little hit or miss, which is why Im docking a point.

Delicious and filling dumplings Tons of choices and they even serve a good bubble tea. The wait is a little bit long because they make everything from scratch, but the food is definitely worth it when it arrives. The location is ideal for people in the Westmount and Montreal Ouest area.

Man, I had the dumplings there once, and it was the last time. Had it to eat directly outside and boy, it was tasteless, sauces lacking in punch and flavors, steamed dumplings were soggy and fried ones were barely crispy. It sucks cause I really like food in general but Everytime I get off the highway now and pass by there on Sherbrooke, I cringe a little. That being said Id have to give it another chance.. just dont think I have the heart to spend more $ and be disappointed . Sorry MeiWei

Dumplings, I eat them downtown in the Chinatown near my work. They are very good. MeiWei leaves nothing to be desired. Same quality and price. Even if there is a bit of a language barrier, the goodwill makes up for it. Well done and congratulations on your restaurant!

Were regular customers and we always enjoy the dumplings. The portion size is good for the price, and the quality is there. Recently, we went in with our tumblers to buy bubble tea, and they gladly accepted it, filling it fully even though it was bigger than their usual containers. It was very nice of them.

Used to be very satisfied with their dumplings. Would order from them every week. Now it has been the second time around the food (so my money) went straight to the garbage. The quality of the dumplings has dropped massively. The dough is now thick, burnt (when fried) and very oily. There were also missing items both times; no sauce, napkins and/or chopsticks. Never again.

Amazing dumplings, but their menu is not updated in the price We went to go eat at the Restaurant today, and the amount charged doesnt match the price on the menu when we ordered. They likely increased their prices to match their prices on DoorDash, but havent reflected it in their in person menus
Outstanding food.
Dumplings quality is poor now, very small and there is almost nothing inside. I also got a tapioca tea and it barely had 10ish balls. Im very disappointed, Im not coming back.
These ravioli didnt really taste good. The topping lacks condiments. Maybe Im too used to the ones I ate in China, these are bland and disappoint me. Reading the comments I thought it was a good address. Damage.

This restaurant has become one of my favorite places to eat dumplings, which by the way, are bigger than in Sammie s. The only problem sometimes is the rush hour. That is a nightmare for the food delivery guys and for the walk in s too. If you guys organized better the food production, I ll bet that you would have more satisfied customers. The food is great.
