Our experience today at Le Nile Bleu restaurant was remarkable in every way. The welcome, the food, the presentation and what can we say about Mr Kévins service, simply exceptional. THANKS.

Its always extremely pleasant to feel welcomed and recognized when we arrive. Its a place where we like to invite our friends. Fragrant and delicious cuisine, an atmosphere that is both gentle and intense.

this is a beautiful restaurant, and the service and the food are well-aligned with the atmosphere. from the hot towels (you will be eating with your hands after all) to the cocktails (yum!) to the mixed plates of delicious, well-spiced food and rolls of the sourdough bread, injera, everything was delicious. no room for dessert, though! Vegetarian options: there is a vegan option with many different dishes (like the mixed meat and vegetable platter), as well as individual vegan dishes to satisfy most palates.

This place is among two of my favourite Ethiopian restaurants in Canada! As a vegetarian person of Indian origin, this to me feels like soul food! Absolutely incredible!

The food was good. The drinks not. Nothing really felt authentic, lounge music, purple lighting... Our server was always touching everyones chair, very inappropriate and cringe. And he messup up our order 2 time... I recommend Queen Sheba for everyone who wants a good Ethiopian experience

My nephew wanted me to take him to eat at an Ethiopian restaurant to celebrate his graduation. I chose Blue Nile because, in my opinion, it is one of the best Ethiopian restaurants outside of Ethiopia. We ordered a lamb tibs, a kitfo, a beef tibs and an alicha. As usual, we were not disappointed. The meat was tender and the service impeccable. The price is very affordable and the restaurant decor is very chic. A 5 star all round! Le Nil Bleu is a Montreal classic, I have been going to this restaurant with my wife since the 90s. Their Ethiopian dishes are so delicious, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is warm. Highly recommended.

We loved this place as soon as we walked in. It has both a luxurious and welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted warmly, checked in with regularly, and offered warm cloths to cleanse our hands. We ordered the meat & veg sampler platter to share, and every single item blew our minds. We were nervous about trying the Kitfo, but it was immediately the fave for both of us! Next time, that will be my entreé. There was also a veggie salad with beets, first time I ve enjoyed beets! Also, shoutout to the roasted vegetables! God, so good. We will be back again and again!

First time eating Ethiopian. We took the meat and vegetable tasting menu. The starters were incredibly good. The bread is really soft as it should be. We thought the starters were small but the main courses are just the right size to be satisfied. We finished with a dessert to share. The cocktail was really good. The service at reception and throughout the meal was very attentive, pleasant, and friendly. I really recommend Vegetarian options: There are lots of very good vegetarian dishes.

The Blue Nile was recommended to us, so we went while enjoying an overnight in Montreal. It was a warm evening in October, and we were seated by the front window with a great view on Rue Denis. The serving staff and chef were exceptionally attentive, and the food and drinks were delicious. I look forward to returning in the future. Highly recommended.

The roasted vegetables are very tasty and the lentils were a favorite too, but each option was really fresh and well prepared. The service was very professional and kind. The location is enchanting and looks like a great place to be for supper of drinks, though we were the only ones dining today for lunch. I am told by my Ethiopian friends you can t find truly authentic Ethiopian food in MTL, and apparently this place uses more white flour than teff flour, but that s technically hearsay. Nevertheless, we had a very enjoyable experience here

Always a pleasure to have a meal at le NilBleu. I have been going there for several decades and have never been disappointed. Its my families go to place to get our fix of fine Ethiopian food.

We ordered online via doordash and were beyond impressed. We had the ten item vegan meal and the food was superb. I have had Éthiopien food in Manhattan, Boston, Toronto and other major cities and they do not compare. The flavour in the dishes is exceptional and the ingredients are so fresh. I cannot wait to visit in person.

This is my boyfriend and Is favorite restaurant. Every time we visit, we enjoy the food, the on-site service, the ambiance, etc. It was our favorite. We had the idea of having a dinner/baby shower at Nil Bleu. Unfortunately, when booking it was super complicated. We had made a reservation for 16 people, 4 weeks in advance. Not enough people to reserve the private room . No problem! We agreed to opt for a table in the main room which is on the first floor. The employee on the phone explains to me that he must wait to see if there are any last minute reservations before accepting my reservation for 16 people. I didnt really understand why I had to wait... he couldnt explain it to me either. He told me that he could just confirm 2-3 days before the dinner date... I wrote to them to express our desire to celebrate the arrival of our child, but no response from them. I think the operation for group reservations was too complicated. Unfortunately, I booked elsewhere... I find it a shame that we couldnt go to our favorite restaurant.

I have eaten in many ethiopian restaurants over the years in various parts of the world: Toronto, NY, DC, Milan , Paris , Rome,etc...and I must say this is the best ethiopian restaurant based on those 3 variables: atmosphere (setting), food and service. The food is well prepared and well set on the plate. The portions are decent and the service is very friendly. The restaurant itself is amazingly decorated and very modern. We ordered the taste menu for 3 people and some of the dishes could barely be split equally between 3 person so everybody could have a proper tasting of everything. This place is beyond amazing! I had the Vegan appetizers, the Vegan combo platter for two and the Vegan Gluten free raspberry chocolate mousse cake. The flavours, textures and variety are all mind blowing! I could eat here everyday and be extremely satisfied with everything they have to offer. Dietary restrictions: The traditional Ethiopian Injera/Bread is made with Teff flour (Which makes it alkaline vegan and gluten free). Majority of their food selections are all gluten free. So you can have a fabulous timing dining in, and leave feeling full, light, happy, satisfied and energized.

-There were 6 of us with my son and his vegan girlfriend. We ate out with cousins from the States. The air was good. This is my 3rd time in 30 years. There was always a server present to help. The water was still high. Bilingual service. -It smelled good on arrival, spices like turmeric. -We chose their proposal for several people which is in the menu (starter and main course), with meat. -Parking is a major problem. The waiter was even trying to help with that. You have to travel by Metro to Montreal, everything was also blocked from 10:30 p.m. -Since we eat with our hands (pieces of pancake to pinch), we are offered hand washcloths at the beginning. GOOD. But they should be left for during the meal. -We went inside to go to the toilet which is nice and clean. Each person talked about how beautiful it was in the restaurant, soft African music, waterfall, soft lights, clean... -The starter board was so delicious that we would have eaten just that. What is spicy is not too spicy. Beautiful presentation. -The rest of the board: delicious. There was a lack of choice for vegan on the 2nd board, tofu or chickpeas perhaps. The lentils were bland compared to the rest, and the texture a bit like chalk. -The choice of desserts was interesting except for the vegan one, but we were no longer hungry. -I suggest one small empty plate per person. Where to put the little piece of unmistakable meat (there is always one, its normal), or the chicken bone? You could even put the washcloth in a ball. I would suggest not leaving the bones in the meat. We dirty the white tablecloths without having a plate, pieces full of brown sauce fall from the pancakes onto the white tablecloths. And I cant put the chewed bone back on everyones central plate! - You dont have to be very disdainful about eating TOGETHER, from the same dish while dirtying the tablecloth. -Overall, delicious, excellent evening. I wanted to please our guests and it was a success. Even with the dismissive one of the gang who accompanied us and let loose and ate. -very affordable Vegetarian options: See main post. Montreal=Metro Kid-friendliness: It could have been more outside, but children need to be fairly calm inside. Personally, I wouldnt want them to get dirty by touching the white of the chairs with their hands, among other things. I wouldnt have brought my son to this restaurant when he was young, but yesterday, he loved the experience, new for him. Wheelchair accessibility: I think they would work it out, there is a permanent inclined plane at the main door, but I havent seen one for the front patio. Not for the toilets downstairs, it seems. There is a larger office, but I didnt see an elevator.

I judge Ethiopian restaurants by their Kitfo. This one was excellent. Extremely spicy but flavorful. The basic salad was beyond basic flavor-wise. Will be back! Update: yes I came back, and went with the shared sampler for two and it was more than enough. Fantastic selection - great job on enhancing the menu.
