WORLD'S WORST COFFEE
Definitely a little disappointed, 4th time going to this location, try to visit every time I come from Toronto. Last week was not the same tasty dishes that I always get and now definitely expect from pigeon…I’m just sad tbh 😭 I wanted great food. Pancakes and Shakshuka were not the top tier standard of pigeon cafe
The service here was so awful. He was so rude, never checked in on us. We ordered an Iced Matcha Latte and got a glass of milk instead. On top of that, he doesn’t know the difference between nondairy milk and lactose free milk and he gave attitude about it. Also, do not order their Chocolatine, it was terrible. Expensive for nothing!
The food here is always so good. I come here specifically for the halloumi and labneh shakshuka, it’s soooo good. But the service is pretty inconsistent. Expect a wait even after you’ve been seated.
Wow wow wow! My boyfriend and I came here for a drink and small bite on my birthday and sat at the bar. Our bartender, Elle, was so sweet and funny. Lily, one of the general managers, was amazing. She gave us a ton of recommendations for places to visit while we're in town too. The drinks were incredible especially the espresso cocktails!! We got the pigs in a blanket...highly recommend. Definitely stop here if you're in the area!
We were in from the US amid the chaos of the 2024 presidential campaign caused by “criminal and chief” Trump, so Tennessee’s excellent service brought us well-prepared morning treats in a quite surprisingly elegant and comfortable atmosphere added to the rest, peace, and rejuvenation we so desperately needed! 5-star cafe and a must for an optimistic and joyous start to your day! Again, Tennessee is the best of a great service team serving excellent morning food!
Who ever was cooking tonight October 04 8pm fire them!!!!! I love pigeon and I had a burger there before I order often like almost once a week ok. So who ever you are sending this overcooked (black burger) and burnt bun out plus the smallest piece of meat I ever got how dare you? You do not deserve to cook at pigeon.
The waffle fries are very good. The chicken was also delicious. The salad was ok. In general, they don’t a lot of meals. And I find their meals expensive relative to the portion.
I went with my group and our service was fast and the food was delicious. The waiters were friendly and one even took the time to learn to sign "you're welcome" to us. I would highly recommend this place :)
Good food, but very very bad service. All servers systematically refuse to respond in French. It seems like they dont care about the customers.
Good overall, the only downside would really be to go there during the week and outside peak hours otherwise its very busy which could annoy you if you dont like noisy places
favourite breakfast spot. delicious food & great service
Gorgeous
Many pigeons cafes around but Monkland tops. Everything top notch :)
A good cappuccino
I don t know what the hype is about Had the Shashukas (halloumi and labneh) it was one of the most disgusting dishes I ve ever had, certainly not worth 22$. Waitress had a snorky attitude, forgot one of my orders and never realized. Certainly won t be returning.
Kid-friendliness: If only there was a kids meal! Managed with grilled cheese and waffle fries. The waitress saved the day with paper and colours Food
My wife likes a dish here so we have been a few times, and every time we say it is the last time we ll come- really slow poor service and somewhat disappointing food but ok tables - modern and clean. Atmosphere is ok.
I am very disappointed I just ordered a brownie online and I received something similar to a little pain au chocolat but frozen neither the shape nor the bottom of a very bad brownie I threw it away directly after tasting it and it cost me $15 including delivery
I didnt recognize the same service as before. My filter coffee really wasnt fresh or good. To place my order, it was so noisy that I couldnt make myself understood and whats more, I had the opposite of what I asked for. No sauce on the plate. They didnt bring me any sauce, it was the busboy who went to get it because the waiter never came back. People were banged on my table because I was unwell placed. To pay I waited a very long time at the cash register which annoyed the bartenders who acted as if I was invisible and blamed me for asking for the bill when they didnt know where I was sitting? I wont go back there again.
I was with a friend in this cafe, the staff did not pay attention to us, no one came up to us for 15 minutes and gave us a menu, we had to look for the menu ourselves, when we asked if there was tartar on the menu, the waiters just left and did not answer, although the people next to us were served quickly, it was daytime and there were few visitors, the waiters were talking to each other at the bar counter, but they did not have time to come up and take our order. Terrible service, it was very unpleasant, although the food and drinks were delicious.
I enjoyed the dish served overall but my partner was served a hard-cooked poached egg. The service did not want to return his plate because it is a new cooking technique. He had it extra with the Mediterranean toast.
Beautiful cozy place, beautiful decoration. The prices are a little exaggerated (example: a tomato soup for $8.95 without bread, its extra. It was too salty) He should clean the ceiling a little. The table we had was not cleaned, that disappointed me because it is a minimum. The staff were helpful but slow. Patience is required. Of course, there is always room for improvement. The pancakes were too thick, personally, I do not recommend the two dishes that I mentioned in the text. In general, I liked the atmosphere. Parking: You can park on the streets for free.
I was there with a friend yesterday. The bagel was not toasted. We ordered poached eggs, taste mostly like vinager and not cooked properly. That was the last time we went there. Compare to what we had, price was too high. We used to go there all the time when Bagel Monkland was there. But now, unfortunately, it is not the same at all and not worth it.
I was very disappointed by the service offered by the Pigeon team. Firstly, no employee served me in French. People only spoke to me in English even though I responded in French. It took a very long time before someone came to see me at the entrance to give me a place even though several tables were available. My friend and I received our plates with a 20 minute gap in between. I burned my arm on the cast iron pan that contained my dish. I would have liked to have been warned that the plate was hot and to be careful when bringing it to me because I now have a big painful mark. We asked for a second course of coffee but never received it. We had to go inside to find someone and pay at the counter because no one was providing follow-up service at our table. So I was surprised to see that the suggested tipping options started at 18%... frankly, a lot of work to be done to train the servers to provide much better customer service. I must point out that the meals were tasty and you have beautiful terraces though.
They say its the worst world coffee and you are definitely waiting for your drinks and food for a good while. Even considering this factor, I did like this place and food and drinks were really good.
It feels like this place is a coffee place with an ambiance. Regardless, we had a good time ~
Was there yesterday and service was a disaster. Took 30 minutes to get regular coffees and over an hour to get breakfast. Staff looked lost and manager overwhelmed. Needs a serious uplift before I would recommend or choose to return. Nice terrasse and location, so definitely potential with right personnel, better training and a more professional mindset.
The staff refuses to speak French... what more can I say?
Delicious and beautiful interior. Loved the indoor/outdoor feel when the suns out and they open the floor to ceiling windows.
A real chicken coop! Very limited spaces between the tables, obviously the owner wanted to maximize the place, results in hellish noise! Extremely slow service, we waited 1 hour for an omelette which for the first time in my life, the potatoes were not included, we had to pay $5.95 for a small bowl of soft and almost burnt potatoes! 30 minutes after taking my order, the waiter tells me that there is no more spinach! The omelette arrives with a very softened salad so no first freshness covered with an indigestible sweet sauce and small fruits on top, I asked for a runny omelette, this one was dry, cheese at a minimum and charred mushrooms, it You really had to be hungry to eat this meal! My friend ordered a boiled egg, it arrived frozen, the replacement egg was no longer a boiled egg but rather a hard-boiled egg! I dont recommend this place, its my first and last time!
Very cute coffee shop. The decor is amazing very cutesy. Perfect for a date night.
Avoid at all costs. Bad food and even worst service.
Agree with another reviewer that it gets worse and worse each time you go. Food was very ordinary, nothing exceptional. It was quite bland when it shouldnt be. The waitress with the nose piercing never came to check on us, all she did was take our order. She didnt even bring us the food. We still left a 15% tip even though she deserved 0. She didnt even say thank you after we finished paying! Weve been to numerous restaurants and this is the first Time someone doesnt even thank you or look you in the eyes. The audacity of being upset for not getting a higher tip when the service was non existent. The music was loud, very noisy environment. But the decor is pretty though. Terrible price to quality AND quantity ratio.
Very good! Flavourful choices Impressive Business with a lot of Style! Food
So bad no respect from staff.
Worst experience ever in my entire life. The food not even worth the price or even tasty. The staff are rude and racist.
Unfortunately, this was my first experience here and I feel very sorry for the person who hired the rude and impatient employees, I wish you would take the time to talk to the customers properly. I will never come here again.
Opted to sit on the terrace. Unfortunately after our drink order was brought to the table, the number of wasps that were buzzing around increased to the point of landing on the glass and into my friend s lemonade. We decide to return to the inside. Before we could explain why we wanted to change location, the server seemed to become incensed and admonished that we should have advised her before moving. We were then ignored for the rest of our meal until we asked for the receipt. This was my 2nd visit to this location and it will definitely be my last.
Nice place but bad service (only in English, errors in the order, negligence ) I do not recommend at all
Went today in the morning, Shakshukas and the atmosphere were really good, but the service wasnt up to the task: #1 they took about 25mins without taking our order until we needed to get up and call one of the waiters; #2 we requested a baby chair from minute one, but they also forgot to bring it, and again, we needed to get up to remind them; #3 one of us ordered a regular coffee, but got an americano with some kind of chocolate cake, which apparently was ordered by our neighbor table, one more time, we needed to get up and call one of the waiters so they could take the coffee and cake back; #4 we also ordered a salad, but we didnt get it along with the main dishes because the waiter forgot to put it in the order, though he managed to get it quite quick, probably in less than 5mins; #5 got the impression that the waiters serving our table had nearly no experience, or they werent happy about their job, or maybe both; all waiters serving our table had a I dont care attitude. Pigeon Caffe has great food, its in an amazing location, and have a cozy atmosphere, Ill come back for sure, but hopefully management takes this review into account
it was more than disappointing, the waiters were stupid, they got my order wrong and the dish was cold.
Manager is extremely aggressive
We were hesitant to eat there given the bad reviews. We finally tried and regretted it. Our young waiter was stupid, the service was pretty bad.
food and drinks were very good + tasty. however the service can definitely improve
The waiters only spoke to us in English, they were slow to come and we didnt even get the right dish we wanted because they didnt speak French. We will NEVER come back!!!!!!
Bonne bouffe, belle terrasse.
They lie on their menu. Also terrible coffee
The coldest welcome with a waiter who doesnt care about the customer. VERY VERY LONG wait (50 mins). during this time, plenty of time to observe: Lots of waiters who do nothing, wandering around to make it appear that....and going around in circles in the restaurant, especially one person in particular! Decent food but nothing more. Beautiful decor. VERY noisy. No pleasure, why go back? Vegetarian options: many options
Went in for brunch on labour day and I was expecting some delay on being seated but not to wait over an hour for my food (2 people). Being pregnant, I was glad I had some snacks in my bag. The food was okay, had to ask at different times for butter, ketchup nothing was brought to us even though we asked when ordering. The waitress was nice, but didnt check up on us once. Very loud and confused hostess at the front. Kind of disappointed, Im always very happy with the Cote-Vertu branch so quite surprised. If you are planning on having a nice and pleasant experience for brunch I would suggest going to the other branch, more parking too (I paid for 2h parking and it wasnt enough, getting the check took forever as well).
Came here on a Tuesday morning alone. It wasnt busy and there were several workers. Sat on the terrace, was ignored for 15 minutes. I had to ask for the menu. Then left for another 23 minutes until I asked to order. The correct waitress came to take my order and didnt even look at me while doing it. When my food arrived, they didnt give me ketchup or mayo for my potatoes, and no utensils for my meal. I once again had to ask. By the time it arrived my food was cold. The terrace was filthy, service was awful and food was gross.
I received better service in French in Ontario than here. Tokebec here.
Great service from Sarah & Emile
The best experience ever . Last week came with my mother-in-law and a friend we had breakfast . What a fantastic day first the waitress GRACE absolutely amazing my mother in law and friend 89yeats old couldn t believe how attentive and the excellent service we received. We asked for some milk usual you need to ask a few times, place is busy you can forget but not Grace she was back immediately. Breakfast arrived quickly and was delicious . The place was busy but Grace had it under control and a smile on her face. We asked for extra coffee didn t have to wait .Grace thank you The best Breakfast ever . Bravo Pigeon cafe we will be back . Grace is a keeper .
Tennessee provided amazing service, and brought me my hat when I didnt realize I dropped it under the table thank you so much! Great place to go to for a quick coffee, super affordable and ample seating outside, would recommend.
Ordered a croissant ham sandwich and this is what we got after waiting for 30 min.
Overpriced and the food we ordered was not tssty. Rude waiter too.
The food was quite basic and disappointing, to be honest. I ordered the shakshuka, but there was nothing special about it. I was expecting a burst of flavors. However, the presentation can definitely enhance the dining experience, especially for a dish like shakshuka. The vibrant colors and the way the ingredients are arranged can make it more appealing!
Ive been multiple times and its amazing each and every time. The service is wonderful and the food is always out quickly.
Rude staff, overpriced and unappealing food. Blonde server came up to our table with attitude asking if we ll be eating today after we already ordered. Didn t apologize when I corrected him, just sheepishly walked away. Tip suggestions on the machine start at 18% instead of 15%, of course. Support local businesses, instead.
I am living in town, near the place bht It was the 1st time visting it. Impressed by the food, the vibe and the quality of service. The waitresse was nice shes was respectful. best place on Monkland. See you next time soon.
So cute
The welcome is good, nothing to add. And the location is great. The salmon bread is basic and the quantity is not worth the price. If you are looking for an explosion of emotion, then this is not the place. In my opinion its expensive for what it is. On the other hand, their lemonade is good and fresh.
The only reason I go there is the location in Monkland for a coffee, music is loud, food has no flavor whatsoever.
Great breakfast spot one of the best beef salami in the town.
I love Monkland Street
Worst food ever had.
Perfect atmosphere,, matcha latte is amazing:)
The Café had maybe 12 clients where it seats 80-100 ppl. Waiters were dancing behind the bar, resulting in extremely slow service and barely any service.
Nice atmosphere and great patio on monkland. Service is slow and portion size is also on the small side. Food is just average. They have some vegetarian options . A little pricey but nice option, especially the patio.
2024.04 Lovely place. But... like the name, its like you are in a place full of pigeons twittering loud! If you are looking for a quiet space, that isnt here. Only for social, and that is a little hard if you dont yell a little. Nice coffee and good food. Service .... so-so. Depending on the waiter. 2024.06 They dont really clean the tables or being quick and efficient even in an empty restaurant! Prices look expensive for a piece of small cake and a small cup of coffee.
Fresh and delicious spot in a very nice setting. Attention to detail and friendly staff. A must try especially if you have kids!
I had an amazing experience here @ Pigeon! I love the atmosphere and the service. The food is just as fantastic, and the iced lattes are so good I could drink them all day.
Such a cute spot - went there for a quick breakfast after dropping off kids at school nearby. Had the steak and eggs dish with a chai latte, everything was DELISH! Especially the chai latte it was the best I ve ever had in a long time! Service was great, the restaurant environment itself was cozy and friendly. Highly recommend:)
Fast service, really friendly staff, the food is original and almost artistic, great atmosphere with a terrace! also Bilingual Service Vegetarian options: Several options available for vegetarian on the menu
Pretty bad service. I wouldn t recommend based on that alone.
Had shakshuka was really tasty
Such a nice place to brunch with friends. It s really beautiful inside. Staff is always very friendly and kind and the food for brunch especially is really good
Amazing food and amazing service. The wedges were awesome!
Food and atmosphere were good but service was subpar. Had to ask several times to have my order corrected and staff kept acting like clients were in their way.
Do not even try !!!! Not worth it , We waited 1.5h for our food ,the food we receive was very cold. On top of it they charge you for things that they assume you ordered and they are not apologetic !
I always order an iced americano whenever I visit this place, and it never fails to impress me.
Perfect for studying or brunch
Yummy and excellent service. Well be back!
Cute cafe with great food! I have been there twice so far on my trip and it s great!
very clean.fresh foods and nice staff
Good food but the staff acts like they re too cool for life. Felt like I was bothering them with simple questions.
Every time i ve been, food has be way overpriced, mediocre and comes in small portions. First time I went I found an eyelash that wasn t mine in the food which was certainly off putting. The food quality was meh, for example the smoothies taste like the ones I make at home so not worth spending the 9ish $ on. And things like fries and other food come shipped frozen. The whole place feel inauthentic and phony. Its more about attracting customers with the look of the place and hiking up prices rather than serving good food. Service was ok. Not worth my money. Vegetarian options: There were options.
Food is great but service depends on the location, the Monkland one has bad service. The waiting was so long to order and to get a simple order. We would at least appreciated if someone came and checked from tome to time.
Not real smoked meat on the plate/ sandwich but sliced cold cuts; ham, salami and very, very greasy and oily.
Food is good, service is awful and indifferent and the noise level is deafening. On the two occasions I have frequented Pigeon Cafe on Monkland, it took more than ten minutes to be seated - even though there were multiple empty seats and tables and between three and six service staff at the bar, plus a line of people waiting to be seated. Once seated, service is super slow. It s like the staff just don t give a damn, they seem to be more interested in talking to each other. The saving grace? The food is good. But at the price and the cost of a less than great dining experience, I won t be going back any time soon, or recommending it to others.
Service was good to start then got quite slow. We were seated immediately and given coffee/tea quickly. Thats where it went downhill. The restaurant had one guy doing the door and seating people, taking orders and doing the bills. He was good but constantly on the go whereas the other employees seemed to be wandering around not doing nearly as much. Food was alright, however no cutlery, ketchup, salt or pepper on the table or butter served with bagel.
I went to eat at Pigeon / Saint-Laurent before this one. This crepe was not as good. The service is as mentioned in the reviews (bad). We were offered a table selflessly (like a chore). When I asked for a coffee, I was told to ask the waitress (a bit like a civil servant ). We had to ask 3 different people to get our second coffee. (besides, coffee not included in the meal + expensive, for such a service) No one came to see us at our table, during the meal. We asked for our invoices several times. We know how to move it to the counters, because no one came to give it to us and it still wasnt ready.
Had a very pleasant coffee and croissant outside
Good food, interesting mix of ingredients. Great mocktail and cocktails especially with espresso. Good service Food
A 40 min wait between ordering and getting our food. An onion soup that tasted like warm water. A $17 salad so plain than I could have made it at home. A burger too tough and overcooked to eat. I rarely write reviews, but this one of the lamest places I ve ever eaten.
Non!
Beautiful, leafy interior design with a covered patio. Excellent oat latté. Good Pigeon sandwich, excellent waffle fries and really good shakshuka. Vegetarian options: Enough to go a few times (more options on breakfast menu, less on lunch)
We came to this cafe late in the evening to celebrate my moms birthday after a long day of sightseeing. We dropped in because we had seen on their site that they offered a selection of cakes. We were pleasantly surprised to see a nice interior with live flowers on the tables. The cakes were delicious. We also decided to try other dishes and drinks. Everything was great. The water was attentive and helpful. We will definitely return if we come to the area again.
This place has gone down. I always order the classic shakshuka, and in the last 12 months, they have been unable to cook a proper one. The eggs were fully cooked and the sauce was burnt due to the cast iron pan being too hot. When it was flagged to the staff, they were unapologetic and still charged us for an uneaten dish. Such a disappointment. Will not be returning.
I ve been there for brunch, lunch & dinner and really enjoyed the options of food & drink! Love their terrace!
What a great restaurant to have in my neighborhood. Menu has alot of yummy choices. Service was fast which is great when I havey kids with me. We will return soon.
This restaurant keeps getting worse and worse every time I visit. The foods are mediocre at best and overpriced. Vanilla smoothie was too sweet and hard to swallow. Steak was served cold. Besides, it was pretty much tasteless. This will be my last visit.
Came in 2, was halfway full.. waited 5min by the side of the table to be talked to or told if it would be a minute or anything. Nobody in front of us, no line. plenty of free tables. Servers at the bar were looking at us not saying anything. We stayed looking around.... left after 10 minutes. nice service 8)
Delicious
great place
Nice setting, good lemon tart but the matcha latte was too sweet, the waitress kindly offered to make it again. The servers are listening
The staff was very rude and unprofessional. Each time when I m at this restaurant they are begging for tips, which is unacceptable. Don t recommend to go there
Waited too long for our drinks and had to call the server multiple times. When we finally got them, the waitress was rude and asked for tips without even asking how we liked the service. Not impressed.
They are begging for tips, very rude and very unprofessional staff every time I visit.
Just had a great breakfast at the pigeon cafe and our server Colton was awesome and gave us some great site seeing tips since were from out of town. Also get the side of hot sauce they make. Its amazing!
Best restaurant on Monkland for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cozy atmosphere and original decor. And of course yummy food. Food
Good tasting food and drinks ! Service is a bit slow but that is to be expected on the weekend :) nice staff and cozy ambiance of the cafe with plenty of light and seating options.
Well stocked meal with good service. Beautiful double terrace.
Horribly noisy
Service was terrible, we were basically ignored the entire time we were there and we got our food cold.
Horrible service
Very nice spacious cafe with plants and wooden furniture. The place is really nice! Their matcha latte is great too!
I got the Breakfast Sandwich for takeaway and ended up getting really sick from food poisoning. Horrible experience!
Love this Cafe. Both coffee and food are tasty. We were seating at the patio enjoy the sun, The waiter is very friendly and accommodating.
Horrible experience. Service is so bad, we waited 35 minutes for the food. It arrived cold. The food is so bad. Would never comeback again.
Nice cozy place. Burger was meh, but did love fries though. Crunchy outside and soft inside. Amazing atmosphere. No parking.
If I could add a hundred stars, I would. Every day, I order from Pigeon Cafe (my medication makes me nauseous and Pigeon Cafes food is the only thing I found that didnt on ne change pas une équipe qui gagne ). Food 10/10, staffs kindness 10000/10. - Bianca T.
Good food, service, great atmosphere . Lately the music has been wayyy too loud! Impossible to have a normal conversation without yelling. Is this a club or a restaurant???
Worst service ever!! I go to pigeon once a week at least! Got treated like a piece of trash this morning. Never going back again.
You should believe what people say about this place. Its expensive for what you get. The service is bad. And the minimum tip is 18%.
Cozy and nice restaurant. The stake was delicious!
My partner and I were sat and 20-25 minutes went by, no one offered a menu or water, but a server did ask if they could take the extra chair from our table. We left.
2 expensive for what you get but the place is nice. 60$ breakfast for 2 wont get me twice !!
This place is a nice place to sit but the branch managers are trying their best to push people away ! Weirdly I had the same experience in two of their locations. The managers act too busy dont wanna even talk to you, its like trying to meet a celebrity! First time was when I wanted to book a birthday party and manager straight up told me hes busy and walked away , had to chase him and talk while walking , didnt even reply before going to the back !!! and 2nd time when I came with a business guest at 11:30 pm and we just wanted to have coffee but they said everything is reserved starting 12, and I wanted to plead with manager to have a cup of coffee and leave before 12 but he wouldnt even hear me !! Its sad , I like thier atmosphère in both places and their servers seem to be nice people . I had a takeaway from this place once and food and coffee was average tbh
The atmosphere is my favorite thing about this restaurant! At lunchtime, it is possible to eat on the terrace which is protected from the sun and passers-by. In the evening, the interior is lit up with garlands and there are even trees around the tables. However, you should expect a really noisy interior if you come during the day. Another downside would be the service because you really have to be persistent for a server to be interested in you. Besides, the food is really good, especially the avocado taost, fries and shakshuka. Living in the neighborhood, I would go back for their food!!
The place is beautifully decorated but the food is severely lacking I ve gone three times and am always disappointed. The prices are quite high for what you get the chicken burger was super hard and dry and the beef burger no flavour. I don t even understand why it s called a cafe when they barely have any pastries and serve mostly full meals and have limited times for their lunch and other options. Service was also nothing of quality
Booked a reservation for party of 25. Very kind and accommodating. The waitress was told about severe allergies, however my friends still received food with the allergen. (Happened twice!) Luckily nothing severe happens but it could have been much worse. Also someone found a hair in their food. They replaced the food and was still very kind. The food was amazing besides those accident. Came out fast. The decoration and vibes are immaculate!! Would recommend
The kitchen does not cope with its responsibilities; those who order food through the application have to wait a very long time for orders. Be prepared to wait at least an hour.
Mimosa, delicious. Salads are delicious but the breaded chicken was not the best option to accompany the dish. My friends was very delicious.
Food served here is perfectly presented and delicious , loved the vibes of this place !
The food was great and the staff was friendly.
It was a wonderful experience
Really great place with lots of pigeon specialties! We literally came in because of the name so so cute, and a lot of their drink and food items are also pigeon spinoffs - theres also an area with pigeon merch in the back and Larry David on the wall! Great ambiance too
My friends and I went to Pigeon Cafe for coffee/tea and dessert. The cookies were delicious and the service was great! Lindsey was friendly and gave us recommendations for fun things to do in Montreal.
We were there today for the 4th time. This time the service was lousy. Our table was missing water so I asked the waitress nicely, she looked unhappy and placed the pitcher noisily on the table. Afterwards, no follow-up, no one came to ask us if we wanted to order something else or to get rid of it. Very disappointing!
I chose the Cafe with my boyfriend because it looked very pretty which I wont lie it was very Instagram picture worthy. Our issue started when we trying to place our order only wanting 2 simple drinks which were a latte and an orange smoothie. As soon as we were ready to order we had to wait at least 15 minutes till someone actually got our orders only for the lady to get our 2 orders wrong and look at me confused when I said I ordered a latte. It took almost 30 to 40 minutes for 2 drinks! And the price was incredibly high for such simple and might I add tasteless drinks. I finished my drink in less than 10 minutes and it took almost another 35 MINUTES for another waiter to ask if we waited only for yet again another waiting period We sat there for almost another 20 minutes until we were able to pay and it took 10 more minutes for me to get my 2 dollar change. I did not to, the service and the food was awful, do not eat there if anything go to Colombus Cafe the service is a lot more comfortable. If you really wanted to, pigeon Cafe is a great place to dine and dash. The waiters truly wont care or notice at all.
Excellent experience! The place is very welcoming. The service is a little slow due to the rush of customers, but the food is delicious.
Terrible service, I ordered one beer and did not Get it right....how is that even possible!!! I believe when your waitress is on her phone all the time it may happen. Not Impressed
Lovely place, very atmospheric, nice staff, and very tasty. I would like to come back here)
Worst soup Ive ever had.
Food quality is probably 3 stars but when you factor in how much they charge it goes down to 2. The decor is pretty, but the noise level ranges from high to very high when theyre playing loud music. Service is functional but slow. Expect to wait for your table. Expect mistakes with your order. Their card reader offers a minimum tip option of 18%. Add it all up and youre better off choosing a different restaurant.
Beautiful cozy place in the hart of Monkland village
Food was good. Chicken Parmigiana was very good. There burger was good, but the buns was wet from soaking up the grease from the burger. Service was pretty slow. We were a party of about 15, once we ordered, it was almost 40 min before we got the food. There were about another 6 people in the restaurant.
Lovely place with good food and prompt, courteous service. The space is slightly echo-y and can get a little loud when its crowded, but otherwise entirely lovely.
i love the cofe they make
We had the breakfast sandwich and blueberry pancakes with the fruit salad as a side. Everything was delicious as always!!
I went fir brunch this morning, hoping to have a shakshuka, however never got to order. I was quickly seated and given a menu. One i chose what i wanted I set it down and waited. 5 minutes passed, then 10 then 15, despite having multiple waiters pass in front of me and sharing eye contact and a friendly nod, even going as far as calling out, but still no one came to take my order. I remained completely ignored. I ended up just leaving. Probably a great place if you re trying to dine and dash as the staff doesn t really look after their clients I will not be returning there, which is too bad because I love a good shakshuka.
Very nice decoration Enjoyed my brunch Food
AMAZING VIBES 10/10 SERVICE but a little on the expensive side for a cafe
Located on a busy and trendy street with a variety of restaurants. At 1 pm on a Saturday, we got the last available table although we seem to be the last of the lunch rush as tables became available as we ate. Quite loud...not a place for quiet conversation. Food and coffee was exceptional and service was very accommodating. A bit pricy for lunch, but worth it. Vegetarian options: Sandwiches, salads, etc.. They will accommodate most dietary needs.
Loved the vibes at this place !! The food was good !! Only they take too long to serve you ! The place gets really crowded over the weekend brunch tho !! We waited a good 20 mins to be seated .
Not the tastiest food I ve had waiters are rude and wait time is crazy long too. I still decided to give it another chance just for a coffee and a small thing to eat, waiter told me to sit and I literally waited there for like 30 minutes no one came ???? Service needs improvement. Don t recommend
I truly wanted to like this restaurant after all the hype but the food was very mediocre and overpriced in my opinion. Bagel was not tasty and the food did not taste fresh.
Food was..fine. Interesting, unique menu. Very nice, cozy vibe, dog friendly, good drinks.. I d say $$ and a good spot for a long catch-up session or casual date
Service is incredibly slow and not attentive. Ive been here 3 times, and each time Ive left after being sat without giving my order because i was there for 15-20 minutes without being seen
Unfortunately the service is terrible, the young waiters dont want to work and they have no skills. The food has no taste. TERRIBLE value for money.
very good place to dine casually, portions are a bit small i will note but other than that great chill experience.
I was at the restaurant before it was this one and they refurbished it beautifully. The service was superb from the two slender and iron deficient guys that were looking like they needed a good meal, which was ironic. The young lady with the leopard top and great nails and really good eye contact, was most helpful. The menu was broken down into half complete booze so I guess its abusatorium, and then one small section for breakfast but bigger than the other sections which were called lunch and supper. My meal came highly recommended from one of the guys and the waitress and it was very weird. But it was interesting and it did have some interesting taste as well as appearance. But poached eggs buried underneath some sort of red sauce with a bunch of stuff in it and a bun cut in half and then hacked again and toasted and the old piece of Middle Eastern bread and a nice lump of lebna goat cheese, and it was certainly something I hadnt seen before. My buddy Angelo, former owner of a famous Italian restaurant, had something more traditional and he liked his. The fries were surprisingly entertaining because they were shaped more like a waffle except with crisscross pieces with spaces between them. Very creative, reasonably tasty but definitely visually entertaining.. Both the excitement and the drawback all at once was the acoustics that had everybodys conversation from every square into the place in your ears. It was loud. But that doesnt mean thats bad... As I do go to an Italian restaurant in the West Island of Montreal thats very big and acoustically also challenging where you walk in and you have to practically yell at your friend whos standing right beside you to be heard. This was kind of like that . Definitely an interesting place and probably as the bar even more interesting. . Would I go back again for just the main course and what it cost, its okay. Certainly a lot cheaper than covid-19 prices in many places but nothing cheap about the place at all otherwise. . One thing I dont care for however is their machine that takes your credit cards and it starts at 18% and goes up from there. The last two buttons on the screen to choose from are assigning your income to them and then assigning your home to them. Hahaha kidding but it felt like that because 15% was under choose another percentage. And remember that youre not supposed to tip and count the percentage on the tax but before tax. So when you pay 15% youre actually paying a fair bit more. There was no need for it to start at 18% tip! I find that... off-putting. . Otherwise Id give the restaurant somewhere between a 3. 6 and a 4.1 . I deleted peoples faces in my photos
Horrible food, horrible service nothing good to say to be honest. I ordered a simple croissant sandwich with cheese and ham, a dish that even a 5 year old could make. They bring me a sandwich filled with disgusting black pepper liquid sauce which completely ruins the entire dish. I mean who s genius idea was it to drown the entire sandwich in black papper. I barely took two bites and asked the waiter tp return it as it was horrible and I couldn t eat it. They didn t even ask what was bad about the dish or if I wanted to replace it with anything else like any normal restaurant would do. The entire place is completely disorganized. Also, adding a bit of vegetables or fruits to the dry dishes wouldn t hurt anyone and would probably prevent you from having choking hazard incidents At the end, I was charged for something I didn t eat.
All the food is quality and delicious. For service, you have to flag people down a few times, but once requests are made they serve you quickly. Its a gorgeous cozy place that I wish I could have stayed in longer. Will definitely revisit. Fairy lights on the ceiling, plants everywhere and trees in the center! Trees!! And it was so clean and neat, absolutely gorgeous. Its a little pricey but very worth it. Drinks are delicious, a tad on the sweet side (which I enjoy as a sweet tooth)
A nice looking place with absolutely awful food and mediocre service. Both our sandwiches seemed hastily slapped together hastily with huge sloppy globs of what they called mayonnaise (tasted off and the consistency was too thin). The pigeon special wasn t great either. Check your bills because we were charged for orange juice ($11 !?!) after being told they had none. However the interior is very nice.
Very disappointed with the experience we had there. Disappointing value for money and too expensive for what is offered in terms of quality. Only interesting point: decor.
Very nice cafe, but the lack of smile and courtesy spoils the experience
Just a lousy experience. Service was particularly bad and staff were inattentive. Spent far too much time waiting for the bill. No one bothered to check on us and ask if we would like anything once we finished our meal. Atmosphere was loud and overstimulating, couldn t really hold a conversation. Food was okay, nothing special. Definitely avoid this place and choose somewhere else to eat.
One of the best places in Monkland st. For breakfast. Welcoming staff, fresh juice and high quality foods are everything you need for a perfect brunch.
Service is incredibly lacking and frustrating
Food looked amazing but arrived cold and tasteless. I had the Mediterranean breakfast (avo toast with pistachio, goat cheese, poached egg) a huge disappointment. Service was fantastic though!!
