Very nice experience. We were at ITHQ for a birthday and we were completely satisfied. We opted for the table dhote menu. Everything was excellent and rich in flavor. The servers were also attentive and very friendly. I give it a 10/10!

The first waitress almost forced me to eat the beef tongue. I said I didnt want any so the 2nd waitress kindly wanted to bring me a vegetarian dish. I was expecting a little more flavor for Mexican gastronomy. According to my tastes it lacked spice and I would also have liked a little more chilli or a little pepper. In all the services, these are the desserts that I preferred

The food is okay. Tomato salad should have had fresher tomatoes. The steak was not great - rubbery texture. The sauce was bland. The cheese was quite good. The dessert was excellent. The biggest issue is that the wait for food to be brought to the table is incredibly long.

A little well-kept secret in Montreal. Whether it is the regular restaurant or the cooking schools demonstration restaurant, the service and menu are excellent. A discovery not to be missed. It is no more expensive than a standard restaurant. Reservation required in advance.

Our experience at the ITHQ restaurant in Montreal was simply exceptional! We were delighted with our lunch, carefully prepared by Pasquale Varis team. Each dish was a true delight for the taste buds, showcasing the creativity and culinary expertise of the team. This is my second time coming back to ithq. Both times, I ordered the tasting menu. All courses were tasty. Of course I had preferences over others. With that said, this is a great experience if you want to try experimental foods, impeccable services in a warm atmosphere *at more affordable prices compared to pure tasting restaurants* Both times were a 2.5-3 hour experience.

Some of the worst food. Tasting menu, every guest was forced to take it if one person picked it. Appetizers were beans and lard: sad, bland and terrible. The desert was some dry cake with some semi liquid bad yogourt around it. Bread was burnt and dry. The rest was average. Disappointing and not worth it at all. Hard to do worse. Response to owner: Your generic PR responses are as bland and meaningless as your food.

Breakfast service with a buffet formula for $25. Really disappointed because the choice is very limited, and the quality is not worth the price paid (with taxes, tips we are looking at $33 per person ). I was expecting something nicer which would justify the bill, but if someone asks me I would advise against breakfast. On the other hand, the setting remains friendly, and the staff was very professional.

I respect the culinary expertise but the only reason to go here is for an EXPENSIVE « food experience ». The food was good but it s a very particular restaurant. Lots of other amazing spots in Mtl.

Next to the Saint-Louis square, eating at the ITHQ is a gastronomic experience full of local flavors. We went there for a birthday and it was a delicious gift to give yourself. The wine list is diverse. It s very popular with Montrealers and I recommend making reservations. The service is excellent and they are attentive to any request.

We took the set dinner. The entree and dessert were good but the in between s were bland. No interesting combinations. Really disappointing!

I thought the food was alright. The service was nice, but slow and they often bring the wrong orders. My glass also smelled like eggs which wasnt great. Overall, I would not recommend it and it wasnt really worth it either unfortunately.

Visit on January 12. We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairing. In terms of service, impeccable. Friendly and professional. They even adapted very well to certain restrictions that we had in terms of our personal tastes. We were treated to very good dishes. I am thinking, among others, of the risotto made with naked oats, lobster and the bison plate. Dinner discovery: cedar jelly served with honey and cheese. My move. Very successful food and wine pairings. Downside however, 5 glasses was a bit too much. This was our 2nd visit and we will return with pleasure to make other discoveries.

Excellent birthday evening spent in these places: the service is very attentive, the dishes were good combining Quebec products with classics of French gastronomy and elsewhere. The quality-price ratio is competitive, the room allows privacy for the tables. The clientele does not shout, there is no so-called background music, which makes it a calm and cozy place, which is rare in Montreal. This is the second time weve been there, well go back.

Good welcome. During our evening visit, the establishment offered several options: à la carte, 3-course menu or tasting menu. There is also the possibility of having a food and wine pairing. If you are less fond of raw or undercooked meat, the staff will listen to find alternatives. Be very insistent on this point, because otherwise, even if you have announced it, you may be served a mouthful of meat tartare as an opening. If we need to find a point of improvement it would be in the room, it might be time to modernize the decoration. To summarize, it was once again a great experience (visit January 12, 2023).

What a great experience we had yesterday! We opted for the tasting menu. Each of the 5+ services was divine. The flavors are incredible and the products were of exceptional quality and most came from Quebec. The welcome, the service team and Hugo the sommelier are equally extraordinary. Here is a place that I was eager to try because I had heard a lot of good things about it... Unfortunately, it was a difficult evening: a 7 course where only one dish had anything original and tasty (the pre -dessert which was parsnip ice cream served with a slightly tangy caramel.); Everything else seemed to come from a menu from the late 80s at a time when the majority of Quebecers had not discovered the pleasures of the table; no originality, disappointing flavors and a presentation from another time. The wine list is well stocked without being exceptional and the service is friendly but not very attentive. For more than $200 per person after taxes and services, unlike the meal, the bill will be memorable!

Vegetarian options: There s a menu for everyone, it s great! The celery root steak as a main course was a treat!

We loved the tasting menu with the food and wine pairing. We really fell in love with the corn emulsion with grilled scallops and wild berries. The pairing with Niagara Chardonnay made this a simply perfect dish. The mushroom-shaped dessert was also beautiful and exquisite! The service was impeccable.

I was expecting somewhat rough service and tasty food with a presentation that could be improved. Ultimately, I was a little disappointed by the tasting menu, which only presented fairly conventional flavors. The service announced a chocolate mousse for dessert, but when serving it: ah, no, I was wrong, its cheese cake, with no more regrets than that. A little root, the service. In summary, for a gastro its not great, for a practical restaurant its downright very very expensive. This is not a table I would recommend. Vegetarian options: Possibility of adapting the discovery menu for vegetarians (or allergies)

2023-09: great service, great food. The flavors are well balanced. Only downside: the desserts. Maple pie and tarte tartin. In the 1st, the maple mixture is too dense and too caramelized. In the 2nd, the fruit dome is too gelled. The slightly tangy crunch is excellent, however. 2023-04: Dinner on a weekday. The welcome is warm, the decor simple, elegant, the service courteous. The cuisine is careful, surprising and very tasty. The crispy shrimp starter was very crunchy, the shrimp stuffing well seasoned with its greens. The pheasant supreme is soft with well-grilled skin + creamy parsnip puree. The chocolate mousse comes in a rectangular shell filled with mousse with wine-red pear quarters, a delight. The parsnip starter, lamb cavaletti dish and lemon bar were equally satisfying. A great experience to be repeated without hesitation.

Incredible gastronomic experience with Chef Martin Gagne and his 6 course First Nations inspired menu and wine pairing. (Bread a bit too rustic/hard crust). Student service was impeccable. Space is elegant and spacious. Our first time at ITHQ but certainly not our last. Montreals best kept secret.

I love our tourism school!

Most dishes are raw meat and they dont give you warning. Horrible taste. Wine was good and service was really good (only reason i didnt give one star). Super expensive. Two people and end up paying $375 and still was hungry when we left. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY UNLESS YOU LIKE RAW FOOD.

A rather disappointing experience for me with mediocre value for money ($233 CAD for 2 people). The setting is very pretty and the room really spacious. For me, the service was not up to par with the restaurant and the price. (waiter who sweeps the crumbs from the table sending them to the floor...) The dishes didnt transport me even though they were quite sophisticated. The dessert was very good.

The Restaurant de lInstitut, located on St-Denis Street, opposite a magnificent park with fountain (Carré St-Louis) serves gourmet dishes, a pleasure for the eyes as much as for the gourmet taste buds and this at very reasonable prices. World class service and excellent wine list.

A lack of flavor, cooking without finesse and mediocre presentation, you can see it for yourself. My fried guinea fowl is worthy of homemade nuggets and the salad is worthy of a kebab... The tartare has neither the taste nor the appearance of a tartare and the gnocchi do not have the taste... I would do better at home... We didnt make it until dessert. On the other hand, the service was quality.

The restaurant is comfortable and nice looking. You don t feel too close to other guest. High quality and local ingredients cooked perfectly by the chef. Neat and tasteful aesthetics of the plates. The balance between the protein and the accompaniment is well-balanced. I could enjoy the perfect bite (a bit of everything on the fork) for each dish. A wide wine list, the sommelier will make sure to give you the best pairing. I definitely recommend the place !

Really amazing fine dining experience. You get to try a seasonal chef s tasting menu that is prepared by ITHQ hospitality students, so the prices are relatively reasonable compared to regular restaurants of the same caliber, but quality isn t impaired. Food is always delicious and innovative. Service is top notch. It is possible that some FOH students can make some minor mistakes during service such as forgetting a component of a dish or the specific wine pairing, but they are aware of them and you can see that they are putting effort into the service. This actually even adds to the authenticity of the experience. Already looking forward for the next visit.

What an incredible dinner we had here at ITHQ on our first evening of trip to Montreal! Food: The octopus carpaccio, catch of the day (it was halibut this time), and bavarois were especially delicious. Scrumptious amuse-bouche of sea urchin and lobster oil. Special tableside crepe suzette demonstration and chocolate tasting to end on a sweet note. Service: Impeccable. Ambience: Sophisticated but not uncomfortable or intimidating environment. The absolute highlight of the experience were the hardworking students and staff who went above and beyond every step. My partner and I love dining at restaurants at a culinary/hospitality school like this to support the students and experienced hospitality veterans educating the future chefs, sommeliers, general managers, and top tier staff. We will certainly return next time we are in Montreal! Merci beaucoup!

This was one of the best experiences i had in a restaurant in Montreal. Everyone was so attentive and the quality of the food is immense!

2nd visit to this restaurant. A memorable dinner with attentive and efficient service. Absolutely delicious meal from start to finish. The price of the bill is really affordable considering the quality of the food offered. Beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff. The only downside, as I was accompanying a person with reduced mobility, disabled parking is non-existent!!! Luckily for us, there was a free spot close to the access ramp. Really a shame!

I have only dined here once but I highly recommend it! Its located in an accessible location in downtown, and the decoration and atmosphere inside the restaurant is great. Not worth the price you pay. Out of a 6-course tasting menu, only two were up to par. The other 4 were disappointing. Dumpling too dry, ravioli not salty enough, duck undercooked and nervous, too much jam in the dessert. Correct service, but nothing more (crumbs not removed before dessert, cutlery not straight, shifty glances). I was expecting a large table and haute cuisine for $100 per person. My expectations were perhaps too high, but we eat better and with warmer service in places priced at $50 a menu.

What a great experience!! We took the gourmet menu (6 courses) and it was simply delicious, full of flavors, perfect cooking and original dishes. The service was also among the best I have received. If you are looking for a gastronomic experience for a special occasion or to simply get away from the routine, this restaurant is perfect!!

A perfect lunch! The staff is warm and accomodating (our waiters were Anaïs and Antoine) and professional. The menu was innovative and delicious. I definitely recommend the menu du jour. The wine pairing was also wonderful--one of the best Quebec reds Ive tasted. I would say it boasts some of the best value for the money in the city when taking into account the food, the service, and the elegant ambiance.

The only problem is that the tip does not go to your server and sommelier.
