Great dinner!

Really liked the food and atmosphere

First, I want to thank Jerome for making our first date night in almost 3 years an extraordinary experience. I am not using extraordinary out of context here. I cannot thank you enough for the kindness you showed us during our meal. I am so thankful. My husband and I could not have asked for a better person to serve us our meal. I want to also thank the other service staff, you were so kind to us throughout the entire meal. Second, the food was very flavorful. My husband and I left nothing on our plates. The French onion beer soup was beautiful on a cold winter night. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection (medium rare) . The desserts did not disappoint us as they were just as good as the rest of the meal. I would highly recommend trying this place, and asking for Jerome. He will make you wish everyone in the service industry was as kind and attentive as he is. Thank you for making a special night even more memorable for us.

Decorated very tastefully and a propos for the holiday season. Hostess, servers, and manager were attentive and genuinely cared about their customers having a good time. Overall a pleasant place to spend an evening with friends.

This was soooo good. As a family of 4 we shared dumplings and calamari for an entree and they were so yummy. Then we did the steak and fries and that was the best feed we have had on holidays yet. To finish we shared the profiteroles with ice cream. So good. The service was excellent, staff were terrific and the location was brilliant. Highly recommend.

Within the first minutes, we were taken care of and we had all the information necessary for our experience The tomahawk took a long time to arrive, and yet, everything was perfect, the server kept us informed of the delay and we knew what to expect The meat was perfect and, even if I repeat myself, the service too, we will come back

Fantastic time, food was good and the service from Chanelle was excellent!

Great experience!! Our waitress Chanelle was super nice and helpful! :) The Basil fizz mock tail was so delicious and pretty affordable considering most places charge upwards of 10-12 for mocktails. Service was fast and the beef short ribs were amazing but pretty rich so just something to keep in mind. Overall great experience and the place is super cute !!

We were very lucky to get the last open table without a reservation on a Friday evening in November. Our service was exceptional - friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. Our party of four ordered a variety of dishes and they were all wonderful - French onion soup, Greek salad, poutine, spare ribs, steak, salmon, and profiteroles - all fabulous. The atmosphere is very pleasant as well. There s a nice energy without being loud and the decor is stylish and warm. Overall it was an excellent dining experience.

Really excellent meat, I didnt regret having taken the Picanha, it was a very nice discovery!! The little vegetables with it were also delicious. Also great service with a very accommodating and smiling waitress, a pleasure. All in all, a very good evening!

Good morning! Thursday November 5, we arrived with a group of 15 people. Everyone on the team was amazing. We had to leave by 10 p.m., because the city had to do work and cut off the electricity. Everything was ready on time, the meal was extraordinary and what can I say about the service!! Too bad Im not closer to Mtl, Ill become a regular there!! Don t hesitate to go as a couple or in a group!! Cheers!

Dinner was a fantastic experience, Valter our server was excellent. Food was amazing. Next time we are in Montreal we re definitely eating here again at the Méchant Boeuf.

Dont get the rating. Had a ribeye at the bar. Boneless, why? Cut wrong like a flank steak. Medium rare - came out medium well. Beef quality - medium to low. 60 dollars.. Fries - soggy. Profiteroles - ice cream not whipped cream, too much of it. Very little chocolate. A solid 3 star, over priced restaurant. Service at the bar - single barman for 10 seats at bar and the entire restaurant - I felt neglected... skip.

Had dinner there on our first night in town. So happy we landed on this place! Sat at the bar to have dinner. MJ and Nolan took care of us, they were both AMAZING! Had some of the best food and drinks while visiting Montreal. Would highly recommend the Caesar salad, dumplings, salmon tartare for starters. The short rib was soooo delicious! I could have had another one, it was that good. MJ makes a delicious cosmo! Make sure you ask her for one. Also a big thank you to Emma the server for her recommendations on fun cocktail bars in town :-) We will definitely be back on our next trip!!!

We spent a wonderful evening at the wicked beef, punctuated by quality meats in an atmosphere that was as gentle as it was warm. The service is impeccable, and on the menu side, and I highly recommend the braised short ribs. We didnt have time to take a photo because the dishes were so appetizing, a great excuse to go there again very soon.

We ate here duringa recent visit to Mongreal. We had the special three course meal. The scallops were tiny and tough, the puff pastry duck was dry and for extra money, expected more than three slivers of meat. Both steaks were undercooked and tough, veggies were cold and the included brownie was nasty/dry. Would not recommend this restaurant. Rude and condescending waiter when we commented on the quality of our meal. Music didnt suit the atmosphere.. very noisy!

Very disappointed! We had a beef tartare - meal portion. The minimalist quantity (half portion). It was absolutely tasteless. The fries were ordinary and not very hot. And the price of wine, among the cheapest, is $70 and oysters are $4.50 each. The service is very average. You have to look for the server. I have been there several times in the past. I wont go back there. Too bad.

Its one of the best dining experiences Ive had in Montreal. The service was impeccable from the moment we arrived and then the advice and attention of our server took the experience to another level. Thank you Cantin. The cuisine is simply sublime, the restaurant lives up to its name, the meats are prepared with care and accuracy. The accompaniments surprised us with their originality and taste. Its worth its price. Definitely worth trying!

Everything about this place was incredible! Our waiter, Jerome, was so hospitable, kind, warm, and spoke excellent English! The food was delicious! We also loved having a table next to the open window with the heater turned on. Jerome also knew it was my wife s birthday without us having to tell them and gave her free desert. 10/10 recommend!

Beautiful restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The service is still long despite the fact that the restaurant was not full. The food is excellent! The cooking was very well respected. Rather expensive though. Especially for wine.

This restaurant claims to be gourmet by its prices but the quality is far from being there. The portions are small, just fries, the quality of the tartare is less than basic and the quantity of fat in some meat leaves something to be desired I do not recommend

I recently dined at Méchant Boeuf in Montreal and had a great experience overall. The service was outstanding, attentive, and friendly, which made our meal enjoyable. We tried the steak tartare, which had a unique kick, setting it apart from other tartares Ive tasted. It was flavorful and had a nice texture. We also ordered the poutine with brisket; while the poutine was delicious, I felt the brisket could have used a bit more seasoning to enhance its flavor. The restaurant is in a great location, making it a convenient spot to enjoy a meal. I would definitely recommend it and give it four stars!

Food was amazing but service was quite slow. During the meal we sat with empty drinks for probably 20+ minutes before our server came by (I had to flag her down when I saw her as she didn t come over on her own) and she was very hard to find during our evening. I had to get up and go over to her at the bar to ask for our bills because we had been sitting finished our meals for a while with no communication from her. I expect better service when I m paying this much. Atmosphere was very nice.

We had a mother/daughter evening and it was simply on point! The wine was excellent , they had a decent list of mocktails as well which was awesome as I was driving. The food was delicious , I had the bavette which was cooked to perfection and the chimichurri sauce was sooooooo good. My mom had the salmon that was had great crispy skin on too of being delicious. Honestly all was great but what really took the cake was our waiter, Valter. He was polite, funny, witty and always present at the right time. The whole staff was on point to be honest. I d recommend for sure! Only small detail was the music, for my personal taste I d suggest more of a Jazzy vibe, less 80 s pop, but it didn t impact out night.

First and last time for us! The waiter had to apologize 10 times for the delay in our plates. My flank steak was ONLY TRANILLES, my boyfriend received his fries when he had already had time to eat his entire meal, my side dish of mashed potatoes only contained about 2 tablespoons... We were free dessert and coffee but for the same price, I will eat better elsewhere by far... Too bad!

We had an exceptional evening at Méchant Boeuf! The service was absolutely impeccable, a big thank you to Jérôme and Quentin for their professionalism and kindness. From the moment we were welcomed, we were taken care of with personalized attention which made our experience even more memorable. We started by enjoying some beautiful fresh oysters and half a lobster. Then, the T-bone that we shared was perfectly cooked, a real delight. It is an experience to be repeated without hesitation.

My daughter and I went last Friday the 13th. Pleasant decor, nice atmosphere, very interesting menu! We shared a succulent beef carpacio as a starter, my daughter really enjoyed her flank steak and I loved my salmon, simply divine! The service provided by Valter was absolutely perfect in every way, as we rarely find since the pandemic! Smiling, friendly, attentive, truly impeccable! It was our first visit but definitely not the last...hoping to have our great server again!
