Le Roseline offre des plats aux saveurs locales dans une ambiance calme et conviviale. Le Roseline offers a variety of local flavoured dishes from open to close, in a calm and friendly environment. Our bar is well stocked with the finest gin, scotch, Japanese whiskey and private imports. Come try our seasonal menu and market cuisine, you will not be disappointed.
An evening of indulgence: a charcuterie board with all the essentials, paired with fried halloumi, roasted squash, curry raisins, dill, and za’atar sour cream. To top it off, we sipped on a delightful orange wine—because nothing pairs better with good food than even better wine!
Cozy restaurant and bar with a nice selection of wines. The oysters were fresh and deliciously paired with their Italian sparkling wine. The ambiance of the place was intimate and comfortable. The music was not too loud and we enjoyed the evening. However, our experience was slightly unpleasant as one of the staff members (probably more senior) kept reprimanding another staff member who seems to be in training/new to the place. We did not notice any mistake or inappropriate behaviour when the “trainee” served us, but we kept overhearing the senior staff criticize him from behind the bar, which made us uneasy.
Very disappointing experience! Last night we had a table booked for 6pm. When we arrived they told us that we would have to leave by 8:30pm - fair. We ordered food and drinks and at 7:30pm the waitress told us that if we wanted we could stay more, so we accepted and relaxed and ordered more. Then at 8pm she came back and said that we had to leave after all. This was an awkward moment as previously they told us to stay. At 8:15 they told us again that we have to get up and leave. Very misleading and we felt rushed to get up and out and btw there were no people waiting. Really don't appreciate after spending $500 on the table to be treated like that. Not going there again.
Towards the end of the night as we were paying, my friend did not tip, because we are students and are on a budget. although she later was apologetic about not tipping, one of the waiters demanded that she tip. He kept on aggressively questioning why she did not leave a tip and he even created a new bill so that she could be forced to tip. This person wasn’t even our waiter. He just served us water once and even spilled the water on our table and didn’t clean it up. The waiter that we did have was very sweet and helpful though. My friend understands that she should have been prepared to tip from the beginning, but the agressive attitude and entitlement to receiving a tip was quite disappointing. However, the place is pretty. the ambience was really nice. music was overall good and the live music was beautiful. Food and drinks were great too. But we might think twice about going back, because of how our night ended.
Great place for a date or hang out with friends. A few upgraded classics such as ossobuco poutine and cheeseburger along with some more typical high end fare (grilled octopus and salmon tartar). Great atmosphere and decor.
One of the rare spots in Montréal that combines great service, a warm atmosphere (art deco meets Churchill's library), a long list of wines and drinks, good food. It's a perfect place for good conversations.
Great dinner, the service was above par and the food excellent and beautifully presented. Lots of options to choose from, the octopus was on point. The mezcal drink was delicious. Escargot with bone marrow brought me back to where I first had this at Charcuts in Calgary. Loved it.
We had a wonderful time here. It does seem like it’s the sort of place you’d want a reservation for, so we were lucky to have a window. They’ve got a nice wine list written on the walls, and impeccable buratta. But this place really shines for its decor — the lighting is great and moody, the leather seats look divine, and I could spend ages looking at the elegant little trinkets along the shelves.
Perfect evening. Food, atmosphere and service, everything was impeccable
Top !
Beautiful area
Parking: Ooo Food
We were sitting at the bar, near the piano. The atmosphere was cozy, the sound level pleasant, no need to raise the voice. Courteous service. Good wine (private imports) and excellent food, particularly the octopus and salmon tataki.
Honeyed place Decor. Food Varied selection of high-level wines. We will return there with pleasure. it s a must in Montreal
Perfect ambiance, affordable food and excellent wine!! If you like the piano bar atmosphere you will love it.
Last night was one of my favorites at Roseline. The $1 oysters were delicious as well as the fries with truffle mayo. And the service was very warm with Loïc.
Great food, amazing owner! Super accomodating and kind
Wow. One of my new favorite places. So fresh, great selection that is not seen in other restaurants. Great service
A great place with a very kind and accommodating owner that seated our party of 6 while it was busy. The food was also fantastic and we had a great time!
The salmon tataki and the gnochetti were delicious! Good portion. The cocktails are well executed and there is a nice selection of wines by the glass. I would go back every week if I could. I liked the music, the style, the volume, you can hear yourself talking but theres atmosphere at the same time! See you soon Le Roseline
Just be careful if allergies, we didnt respect my specifications
Very pleasant, cozy atmosphere; and very careful and friendly welcome. A beautiful evening accompanied by the live piano concert and a beautiful voice.
Atmosphere of SATURDAY EVENING: a beautiful piano in the room, no pianist however, we are forced to play ambient music that is much too loud. Not very generous portions in addition to having three unopened mussels, therefore inedible, among the small quantity brought. We choose a dessert which is refused to us by the waiter who, by the way, looks down on us, under the pretext that the requested dessert is part of another option on the menu. Is this a VALID REGULATION and supposed to satisfy customers??? Was this an exaggerated request on our part? After that we will complain about bogus regulations from our governments while between us we are doing worse. Even after mentioning to him that we could pay extra, the waiter still refused. A restaurant where you cant even taste anything on their own menu. Very very disappointing experience... Result: 4 desserts, 4 coffees less on the bill and 4 disappointed customers who will never come back. Bad formula for doing business!!!
Beautiful place, chic and relaxed atmosphere, magnificent decor Very good too. I recommend, great restaurant on rue St Laurent
Favorite spot to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. Staff is knowledgeable, warm and friendly. Atmosphere is perfect and looking forward to catching one of their jazz nights soon!
First time trying Roseline, I loved the experience! The decor is welcoming, the vibe cozy, and the music enveloping. There was a $1 oyster special between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. for the month of November, the oysters were fresh, and the mignonettes were delicious. The service was impeccable, the server was super accommodating and catered to our needs. I highly recommend and will definitely return!
Traveling alone, mostly camping. Was craving something more sophisticated. Roseline was the right choice. Lovely atmosphere and the salad and mussels were delicious. Not quiet, but, like the other reviews noted, the jazz music works.
Beautiful place, good food and rude waiter
the jazz piano was very pleasant
Very nice atmosphere Wine list a little expensive. Very well served. Items on the menu were missing. The food was very good and generous. Dietary restrictions: They have a vegetarian menu Parking: Must park 3 or 4 streets away
Lamb shank in its drooling sauce on the floor. The mashed potatoes include feta cheese and everything is topped with finely chopped and grilled leek?!? Heaven...Im in heaven! And the cares that hung around me through the weeeeeek seem to vanish like a gamblers lucky streek, when were out together dancing cheek to cheek
It was good but I was expecting more in terms of service and experience. Really expensive for the type pf experience we had Parking: Parkometrr
Beautiful bar, amazing atmosphere. Jazz: pianist and guitarist. Excellent place to spend an evening with friends. You have to go there to have a drink and eat plates to share. On the other hand, the wine list by the glass is too short. At meal time, the waiter is unable to give correct advice for two reasons: he seems to lack knowledge and the lack of choice does not allow him to do so either. In terms of food, the choices of dishes to share are very good but the meal plates, including the duck one, seemed like something out of Plaisirs gourmands. The choice of lettuce served with the duck was not good and surprising. We would have expected a mash and not a salad. The fries were terrible: soft, too brown and above all too greasy. The server was expeditious and didnt seem very interested in serving us. Another came quickly and passed his long arms in front of our faces to fill our glasses with water. A little delicacy and professionalism would have been appreciated. We go back there for the atmosphere but definitely, we go elsewhere to eat.
Perfect place with a cozy atmosphere to have a drink/eat with a couple or friends while being able to talk with music in the background or sometimes even a real group of musicians playing jazz for you. We will come back
Felt decoration. Impeccable and very personalized service. Thanks to Théo and Léna. A memorable evening.
The quality of the food was very high. The best beef carpaccio I have ever eaten in my life. Delicious fries. Truly original wines. The sommelier, very attentive, understood our needs exactly. The waitress at the bar was very attentive. The atmosphere was cozy and chic while not being snobbish. A quiet place to absolutely discover and visit as often as possible. Vegetarian options: Several veggie options available.
I was really disappointed with my visit. While the place and ambience were decent, the service left much to be desired. The waiter was incredibly rude, rushing me to choose a drink that I didnt even want. To make things worse, I received one less oyster than I ordered, and the final straw was when he took my plate without even asking if I was finished spoiler: I wasnt. I expected better service and attention to detail.
We ordered several items from the menu. Perhaps he did not have the products necessary to remain faithful to their descriptions, but that was not said. Our choices would have been different. The big disappointment was the wine service. Its a very nice place, but the refined atmosphere is not reflected in the experience. In any case, not if you are looking for that of a wine bar that bears the name aptly or even just a staff on the lookout for its evening menu. Lets say we felt trapped once while sitting down.
We had a fantastic experience! The food was insane do not miss out on the whipped buratta wow! Service was top notch and atmosphere was super romantic. Highly recommend!
Very very long service!! No choice of beer on tap!!! Hautin server does not listen to customers!! But super nice place!!
Very correct recommend
I love the place, the atmosphere, the food!! A place to discover!!
Negative experience... The quality of the food was there... but on the other hand with an already very limited menu several things were not available... including our 2 main choices, finally finding myself eating a cheesebuger at 22$ very simple and very empty served on a dessert plate without any accompaniment...I was looking for the hidden camera and Dominic Paquet!!!!! Well no nothing. For wine by the bottle there are differences between that of the internet menu and the real menu...many of which are not available so we end up with bottles over $70. The atmosphere is subdued...I was surprised due to the supposed high level of catering to eat next to mouse droppings...it was less appetizing...photos...The staff was courteous. We went on a Saturday evening, it was very quiet, I understood why afterwards, I left disappointed. never again
We went for drinks on a Friday evening. It was more than half empty, but we didnt get any service in 20 minutes as the bartender was busy talking with another customer. We ended up leaving and we clearly wont be going back.
A beautiful place with fine cuisine, full of flavor.
Nothing exceptional for the dishes, the octopus very disappointing, dry, lack of interest and for the price dessert also disappointing, decent service, atmosphere: if you like not hearing yourself speak, strange acoustics and the strangely integrated piano, In short, I wont go back there, there are better!
A wonderful experience, refined cuisine and a unique atmosphere in the city. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation!
Quality service with a very good atmosphere to spend with friends.
Its a nice place to meet for a drink, but I dont think the food was that good, I might have been unlucky with my food choices
Establishment with cozy decoration. Unfortunately our experience did not go well. The atmosphere seemed tense and the staff slightly stressed. The welcome was not the warmest upon our arrival, even though it was from the room manager/manager, I presume. Disappointment from the start, with questions about the 2 cocktails of the moment. They describe the color to me but no details on the flavors, the taste... Why make special cocktails if your staff is not able to highlight them and make us want to taste them? I dont have a cocktail because the color is pink, its the mix of flavors that will decide for me. We waited a very long time to be served. And when I say us, I dont just include our table but those of the other guests. A rather rare occurrence, the wait will have made us talk to people nearby. Positive touch of the evening. But they too were disappointed. In addition to the delay, there were errors in the dishes served compared to those ordered. Another point, when a customer asks if the gnocchi are made from potatoes and they answer yes when in fact they were made from wheat, in the restaurant industry it is rather a disturbing error because there may be food intolerances. Fortunately this was not the case but more a matter of taste. The descriptions of the wines given by the sommelier were vague, without any indication of aromas or food pairings. (In her defense perhaps a little too upset by the general context of the evening and therefore had difficulty focusing during our conversation) I understand that there was a problem with one or more team members but as a customer we are not responsible for this and an effort on the part of your establishment should have been made. Another point, when an employee starts or is hired as reinforcement, it would be appreciated if in the event of multiple errors on his part, other staff members support him instead of criticizing him. Its true that I dont know the history but perhaps it was simply poorly formed. It seems to me that a more experienced person should have been at his side throughout an entire service. To show him what to say to highlight a cocktail or the dishes on the menu. One thing is certain: there was a failure on one side or the other. When leaving your establishment, it is regrettable to have the feeling that to have a good experience, you must have a film crew and be called Sébastien Benoît (for those who do not know him, Quebec animator who promoted this restaurant in one of the shows) or Louis François Marcotte to enjoy a drink on the sofa in complete tranquility (restaurateur and, among other things, host of various shows). Sound level: Its rather noisy and you can easily have trouble hearing yourself speak. However, we were only a table of four people. During part of the evening, there were no more towels to dry your hands in the toilets. I agree that this review is too long and the majority of people do not read the comments but look more easily at the photos, and in those that I have added your establishment is rather highlighted. What works in your favor, I leave them because the chef in the kitchen and his team do not deserve such negative feedback. The dishes were good and well presented. Unfortunately for the kitchen, the team in the dining room was really not up to their level and the culinary experience is a whole. With such an evening, I cannot recommend this restaurant. I wanted to return to our visit which took place at the end of April in order to express some constructive remarks. My goal is to help you identify possible areas for improvement, because I am convinced that your establishment has the potential to offer a more pleasant experience.
An exceptional culinary experience! Chef Alex excels in the art of gastronomy, offering delicious and indulgent dishes. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere chic and classy. Simply perfect!
Great time, great food, amazing service!
Léna gave us exceptional service. She was able to ensure a nice balance between the drinks. She gave us great wine recommendations. We were disappointed not to have octopuses. We ordered the snails with marrow, without snails. The chef compensated by adding bones. We ordered sorbet, it arrived without its cup (crust). A good restaurant, impeccable service but some disappointments in terms of the cuisine which seems inconsistent. Some sublime dishes that are worth the detour (for example arrancini). The decoration is magnificent.
One of my favorite restaurant-bars, particularly lively on Fridays with live music. The food is delicious, the service exceptional, and the decoration charming.
Ive never eaten there but its a high quality wine bar and very pleasant to chat. I highly recommend if you are close to Mile End. One of my favorite places in Montreal.
Unfortunately we werent able to taste anything. We arrived a little before 7:30 p.m. and left at 8 p.m. Apart from water, we were not served. No one came to see if we wanted anything to eat or drink. Too bad, I was looking forward to going there, but I was very disappointed. The restaurant is beautiful though and the atmosphere is good.
A lovely place to visit!
The winegrowers evening was wonderful: meeting a winegrower, castle stories, unique wine tasting, thank you and see you next time
A cozy atmosphere with music and lots of beauty in the decor. Very impressive wine cellar
Satisfying cuisine and pleasant terrace. Service to improve. When you make a group that has reservations wait, and they consume properly, you offer them a little something rather than trying to squeeze every last dollar out of them. This is called decorum. And it s this kind of behavior that will bring customers back, more than artificial speeches.
Great spot for the locals. Good wine selection and semi-seasonal food menu. The lentils are the best ever (and I hate lentils). Food
Great food, great wine, great service!
A must for us now in MTL! Thank you Catherine for the impeccable service and great recommendations!
Great vibe, great food, the staff is great! We stayed in a flat above the restaurant and stopped in 5 times in 3 days! Relaxed atmosphere with great food and service
Great evening with quality dishes, well presented. Courteous and discreet service. Smiling staff, just good words.
I have never had worse service than tonight. I cannot comprehend how this restaurant is still open. Spend your money elsewhere.
In summary: Worst service ever. Very average food. And no one takes responsibility for this terrible evening! Keep your money! In detail: - We were a group of 20 *WITH* a reservation at 8:45 p.m. for several days. We arrived on time, we waited 15 minutes at the door before we were ushered in and piled like sardines in the back waiting for the previous customers to leave the table . - Instead of having a table of 20, we were separated into 2 groups of 10. One group on the floor level, another on the mezzanine . Some of us didnt even have a table, we sat on beanbags and sofas. - One of us is celiac. We contacted the restaurant in advance to find out if there were gluten-free options, and they confirmed yes. Once there, we ask again what is gluten-free, the waitress confirms that the octopus is. We order and finally, the dish has fried ingredients, therefore with gluten. We turn the dish over and ask the waiter what we can have. He cannot give clear answers, and will not check with the kitchen (until he is told that this is the way to do it) - Food and drinks arrived 1 hour after ordering them. Some drinks were simply never brought. - I wanted squash agnolotti, the waitress confirmed to me that it is not available this season and that they forgot to change the menu. She suggests gnocchi, so I order. Once the dish arrives, I realize that it is just simple pasta. I tell the waitress who goes to the kitchen to confirm with the chef. She comes back to me and says they changed the menu but she forgot to tell me. She offers me a dessert for free, which I still found nice. - My friend orders a salmon tartare. Obviously, it arrives super late, but what s more, it arrives with lettuce leaves because they no longer have croutons in the kitchen! - It was like that all evening, non-stop, everything that could go wrong went wrong. Also, the manager didnt even come to apologize or anything.
Picked this location to celebrate a special birthday so we booked way in advance. When we arrived they told us they didn t have a proper table for us, only a coffee table because they were fully booked - we are the ones who booked? So we had to eat all squished around a small coffee table. We then ordered a bunch of food & after 45+ mins of waiting for it they came over and told us it wasn t going to come in time before our allocated time slot would be over? Which seemed like their fault not ours? So they asked if we wanted to cancel the food that we had been sat waiting ages for. Eventually had to leave and eat somewhere else which wasn t easy to find on a Saturday night without reservation and in the rain. Luckily we had a good spirited birthday girl but felt very left down by this establishment.
Nice atmosphere, even in weekdays! Super good meal, Brussels sprouts as a starter, a must. A fusion between industrial architecture and reuse of settings full of history.
Magnificent evening, beautiful atmosphere, you want to linger, excellent and very original dishes, ideal for spending an evening with friends, a birthday, or simply come and spoil yourself by relaxing in this pretty setting without forget the team of great kindness. We will come back to this.
Very unpleasant staff We did not feel welcome and will not return there again Dont hesitate to apologize when you make a mistake, thats the minimum.
Snails with bone marrow to die for, all accompanied by live jazz music
Superb atmosphere on Friday evening with the jazz group. Delicious dishes to share, extensive wine list and the decoration is enveloping. The price of the dishes is excellent, good value for money. The service is warm and professional. A nice place to have a good time with friends
Excellent cuisine, very attentive service, we had a superb evening
A nice and warm place and the food is excellent... We will return there very soon
Simply perfect, the welcome, the service, the smiles. And what about the food! I loved my dish which I have never seen anywhere else. Thank you Roseline. Johanne
The atmosphere is incredible! You can practically see the history on the walls, it feels like a place youd want to comfortably relax in (complete with lounge-style couches). The staff made great drinks and were very polite. A terrific choice to splurge on a romantic and haute-class evening.
Best kept secret
Good cocktails, Delicious food, nice ambiance and beautiful people!
Beautiful restaurant, great food.. Beef tartar , and burrata were fresh and tasty, amazing service. Definitely will come back here. Highly recommended
Highly recommend amazing service and food! Very nice discovery, jazz group on site on Friday! Truly for all tastes and all ages
Best place in Montreal for great food and great service, amazing ambiance! My favorite place for a trippy outing, an exceptional meal and fiery cocktails! You will give me news!!
Chic and lounge atmosphere! Very pleasant.
WOW superb discovery and extraordinary service thank you decor with the JAZZZZZ
Perfect atmosphere and music The octopus dish was very disappointing; 2 pieces of lightly breaded octopus on lots of hash browns with a little sprig of greens. Very monotonous Not cooked on charcoal The halloumi and Brussels sprouts starter was excellent. Just one nice waiter who does his best without much experience Disappointed Im not going back
Great atmosphere, exceptional service! Out of this world wine and sensational meal :)
Excellent food, impeccable service, attentive servers. The music was very good. It s a beautiful place, nicely decorated and with real candles! We will come back!
One of my favorite restaurants in Montreal! A chic place without being over the top. The best salmon tartare Ive had and the fried haloumi is just as delicious. There is a good jazz group on Fridays! Great experience, impeccable service.
I
Excellent atmosphere and every time a pure delight!
The service is disastrous. After finishing our drinks, paying the bill, we left to spend elsewhere . I definitely expected a better experience. Not to mention the fly in my glass...
Very nice place to have a drink or go on a date
We visited Roseline for New Years Eve dinner and had an excellent time. The wine bar is in a very warm and inviting location, with several low seating comfy leather chairs for a very casual wine tasty with friends as well as typical chairs and tables for those wanting to enjoy a meal as well as drinks. There are a number of wine offerings and the staff are knowledgeable about the selection (as I have no clue about wine!). They guided us to one of the best glasses of red wine we had every had. The menu is brief but sufficient, especially considering this is a wine bar. We enjoyed the lamb chop and osso bucco, both served with mashed potatoes and carrots. Although it took a bit of time to get, the meal was very good. Service was attentive throughout our visit. Parking: On St. Laurent Blvd just north of St. Joseph, parking is always a challenge after 7pm.
Menu is exquisite and change from time to time. Ambiance is great, music, lightning are well balanced. The tapas style is ideal to share. The best experience is going 4 people and order EVERYTHING, even the dessert.
Absolutely worth trying. The decor and atmosphere is fantastic and what can we say about the cocktails. I highly recommend for a drink with friends, a date or for dinner
I ve been coming here with my wife for years, but our tradition, and every year we are surprised by just how delicious it is !
Very friendly and professional staff. I highly recommend this restaurant
A little disappointed with this place. The service was OK and the wine choices were good, but the food was bland and not very generous for the high prices. I recommend going there only for a glass of wine during live music, but not to eat a meal.
Perhaps one of the best meals I have had in years, this beautiful intimate restaurant has wonderful delicious cocktails and an incredible wine list. While it is listed as a wine bar, the food really shines! We shared a meal with another couple, all tapas style, including the fish. What incredible flavours in perfect harmony with the wine. Combined with an extraordinarily well-trained staff and the great ambience, this is one of Montreals best hidden gems. I highly highly recommend Roseline!
A great discovery! A place that I love. Bravo to Vincent and his team. Always want to go back.
Superb evening, Ill definitely be going back soon! Great selection of wine and knowledgeable and ultra friendly staff! We shared the plate of cold meats and cheeses and had a great time. Nice variety and very fair portion for the price! Thanks to Selena for her fire service! Cant wait to try the terrace this summer, it seems to be magnificent!
Prices are way too high for tiny portions. Its good, nothing more.
First time back to Montreal and this was made lovely by a dinner at a beautiful, intimate wine bar - Roseline! Reservation was made by a friend, and they were accommodating to have an additional friend join us. Tables are small and intimate; there were also lounge chairs and sofas around for those who come for wine and snacks. Food was incredible, but small portions, not a typical tapas plate for several people, perhaps suited for 2-3 at a table. What a pleasant surprise to also have a live jazz band play on a Saturday night! Pictured 1) the best dish, the homemade gnocchi 2) Cod Accras (a side of Shirazi brunoise and citrus mayonnaise) 3) Homemade focaccia, grilled cheese, Zatar spices 4) Linguini (pesto sauce and pistachio crumble) 5) Charcoal grilled shrimps (Cajun, thaï pepper and garlic marinade, homemade pico de gallo)
Best koukou I have eaten in my life.
Very nice clean place. Amazing decoration. Service I can say was quite fast. Food was pretty good. Not huge variety of wine by the glass. A lot of bottles varietyz though. There was a live band as well on a Friday. Verdict : give it a try.
Cool atmosphere, nice band, food was ok, way too overpriced.

Impeccable service, delicious dishes, very pleasant music!
Beautiful decor, perfect to continue an evening of alcohol. Disappointing food. Burrata and tuna cevice...... Professional and friendly staff
Very jazzy and sophisticated! I adore!!!
Well well well it s the best secret in town Don t hesitate .. Food : 5/5
The staff this evening was very nice. Very talaktive and social. They make the experience at this unique restaurant so much better. Thank you for this incredible evening!
Wheelchair accessibility: Rampe daccès Food
Wonderful in every way. Haloumi starter and divine fried Brussels sprouts! And the place looks amazing. Like dining out in a cozy, elegant lounge. So cool.
What a nice place! The atmosphere is warm, the wine is superb and the food is excellent. The service is impeccable!
What does someone do who doesnt drink in such an establishment? Thats a good question, in fact I came to have a good time and chat with friends. The place is ideal for that, lets be clear. It is ingeniously designed for small groups or for 2 or 4 people. We took mocktails from memory, Fleur dété, Fruit Punch and Pink Bird (I think) all accompanied by a Platter of charcuterie and cheeses from Quebec to share. The service is attentive and discreet and we had a very pleasant time. Are we going back? Most certainly, this is the ideal place for constructive discussions.
What a disappointment! I really thought I would find a great atmosphere there, especially on a Saturday evening at 7 p.m.! The restaurant was empty, the terrace full but still! Like many restaurants, the shortage of labor seems to affect Roseline since the service was correct but nothing more and a big mistake in one of the main dishes, we received carbonara style linguini instead of the description that was on the menu, i.e. braised beef and a trilogy of mushrooms, in short everything was rectified brilliantly after our intervention but it was the first and last time! Sometimes I try to think outside the box and deceive my list of prefs, sometimes it turns out well like Salle Climatisée, sometimes it seems not!
The place is beautiful, but the service is terrible. We had reservations and arrived on time. It was almost empty. There were at least 4 people on duty for around fifteen customers (5-6 tables). And we had to wait more than an hour after our order was taken to have anything in front of us other than glasses of water. At one point, I was so hungry that I did like the table next door who had ordered bread, 5 nice slices of homemade bread with butter. We received after 15 minutes 3 slices thin and burnt without butter. I finally received the oysters ordered only to realize that only half were well detached. I was planning to order something else, but the experience just made me want to run away. I dont understand why this place is still open. The pandemic has a broad back, I think.
Such a great decor in a place tucked away in a quiet side of saint Laurent street. This place makes you feel like you walked into another part of town. Great wine selection, beautiful tasty cocktails and delicious food. The size of food could be small depending on what you order but everything I have tried so far is tasty.
Absolutely loved it! The ambiance was so lovely, and the live band on Friday was a nice touch. Wine suggestions were great, and tons of tasty sharing options for food. Not too crowded or overly loud either so you can enjoy a conversation. Will definitely be going back!
Love the atmosphere of this place! The interior is very beautifully decorated, and feels very welcoming. The wine selection is quite good, they have many choices.
Great place and excellent food!
Very nice place to go for a drink alone or in a group. The dishes to share are well executed and fresh. Wine by the glass is offered at a very reasonable price. I recommend!
Special atmosphere, a cozy living room, where time stands still. Unique. Excellent food, with veggie options, and always of good quality.
* english below - This place is calming and the decor is magnificent (you can choose tables or large comfortable chairs and more intimate coffee tables)! The new chef is very talented and the owner very attentive to customers. It was a big night and we tried many dishes. Everything was delicious! The mussels are a delight, as is the lamb. The charcuterie and cheese platter accompanied by a glass of wine is perfect to share as an aperitif! When you go to this bar YOU HAVE to ask to get served by James. He is very professional. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Great little place, lovely interior, delicious food and wine, & fantastic service from James! Will be back!
An incredible discovery! Exclusive wines, delicious food and what about the music!!
An unusual place, where wine, always privately imported, takes us on a journey and what can we say about the menu, local and fresh, a must
Great food and good music on Wednesday! Atmosphere was really nice. Definitely coming back!
Perfect place for a cozy atmosphere. Everything is there for a superb evening. Music is also part of this beautiful atmosphere!
Love everything! Great service, delicious food, amazing vibe. Will be coming back a bunch!!!!
Disappointing, especially for the price. The meals are okay, nothing more, but the problem is mainly the service. I wont go back there.
Beautiful, quite cozy atmosphere, excellent dishes and a great wine list!
Magnificent bar/restaurant with a vintage chic setting, between art-deco and industrial, high-end cocktails that are not cheap but delicious and welcoming and friendly service.
Le Roseline, one of my favorite bars in Montreal. The staff is attentive, the wine list is enterprising, the dishes are excellent and the atmosphere is captivating. I particularly recommend Friday evening, its jazz evening. Remember to reserve your table in advance!
Very nice atmosphere, nice food, great wines! The in house sommelier helped us with selecting some excellent wines for the evening. Worth it!
I love this place - warm, good wine, good food, nice service.
Finally what I call a real bar! The service was tip top! The server was able to respond to our desires and adapt. Finally mocktails! Non-alcoholic cocktails that are out of the ordinary. Or you dont feel like youre being punished and drinking poor fruit juice They even offered to make it suitable for me without bubbles. The fries were good with a mayonnaise that smelled of truffles. I just regret the slightly dark side of the bar. But really nice to suit everyone! Cocktail and non-alcoholic wine lover! Thanks again for the great service!
Beautiful place, first time on the terrace and for the second time inside. Really a beautiful space, pleasant, very courteous staff. The dishes are very well balanced, the only downside is that the portions are really very small.
Good music but at $24 The glass of Armenian wine is not even good with the waiter who sells it to you like a fine wine without giving the price, to be avoided, total rip off
Pleasant and attentive service. Live jazz band (on Fridays). The gnocchi and Chartreuse baked Alaska were very literally amazing. The mushroom and lamb were alright but overpriced for what they were, but everything else really made up for it.
I liked roseline for the service and wine list. The wine list is generous and has nice options despite the higher price point. However options by the glass are limited for a wine bar. The service we got was nice from the team there on a Wednesday night. The minus for we was the food, potions are tapas style so quite small. We had the asparagus and burrata, Gnocchi and the baked Alaska and for the last two, the flavor parings were unusual, not complimentary and made for a poor dish.
Nice cozy spot to enjoy some good wine and in my case even beer... should have went for the wine when in a wine bar... duh.. Interesting selection of entrees to accompany your wine as well, but not the place to go for a meal in my opinion... just a little bite to enjoy with yourwine.. will definitely go back!
Really good food and vibe. Tapas to share.
I want to love Le Roseline so much because its in my neighborhood and the decor and vibe speak to me a lot. Beverage wise it was very good, good wine and good selection of spirits. The sommelier was also very knowledgeable and gave good suggestions. The weak point was the food, it wasnt extraordinary and it would have to be to justify the price of such a small portion. If they can expand on the food, this would be a great place that I would frequent often.
We got desserts and drinks, and both were pretty good and I would recommend. One star off because I think service was just having a bad day when we were there and it took very long to get the staffs attention, but well probably be back
Great experience, the service is amazing and the meals taste great and are creative. Great place to grab a drink and have a bite with friends. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible
I dont know about the wine, but I dont recommend the food.
Great service, tasty food and jazzy ambiance.
Thank you Gabrielle, it was excellent service! Thank you Vincent for the advice, the wines were superb! We had a very good evening! We will definitely come back!
Excellent service, interesting wine and cocktail list with choices for all tastes
The service and the steak were good but the oyster mushroom salad with cheese was kinda disgusting. We got some home and fixed it with arugula. The place is lovely but Id rather eat somewhere else with better food. Cheese and wine we amazing though
Exceptional, perfect ambiance, divine cocktails
Im surprised to see that several reviews mention the food as the weak point, because I loved everything I ate. The Brussels sprouts, beef tartare and fries were all absolutely delicious. The table next to me had the fish, and I heard them recommend it a second time because they liked it so much. I also appreciated the choice of cocktails and the wine tasting offered. In short, I recommend!
You don t go here for the food, you go for the vino! This quaint and intimate wine bar is the perfect spot to impress your date, especially in the honeymoon phase. Throw on something classy, as the night will surely end with red lips and rosy cheeks. Food: Ambiance: Service: Follow @mtldinnerdates for more MTL restaurant reviews!
Amazing food! Portions are good for the price. Quick and friendly service. The restaurant is beautiful also. Highly recommend!
Great atmosphere with the decor and the live band. Cocktails and wines are excellent! BUT, our Montreal at the table experience was very ordinary: - the starter and dessert seemed to have been purchased directly from the grocery store - main portion was way too small - very average service in our section. You always had to raise your hand to call out to the waiter. Other sections seemed to get much better service Our previous experiences had been better for the service.
Very poor customer service Arrogance of the manager I dont recommend it at all
Borderline arrogant manager, the group did not like the experience
A trout mousse, a cheese platter, 2 glasses of wine = $95, enough to not want to go back to the restaurant for a while. So lets see. They welcomed me as if they would prefer that I not be there. I was recommended wines by the glass for $20 without it being exceptional and without being told the price. We didnt have the prices in front of us because there was an online menu. A real problem honestly for those who dont want to be on their screen in the evening. I asked for prices and the waitress didnt give me the correct prices every time. Damage. I was curious for nothing in the end. It seemed like the right choice for EspaceGo but I hate paying a lot without having a superior customer experience.
Our expectations were high, perhaps too high! Disappointing holiday menu for the price VS the taste VS the quantities. Despite a slow start to the service, the waitress caught up for the rest. Nice atmosphere and music not too loud. Quality/price level for a group of 6, we all have the same consensus and will not go back. Maybe the place is more for a drink, but nothing more. The price is not worth it!
Incredible service from bartender Félix, festive and delicious Christmas tasting menu, a must-see in Mile-End!!!
The food is original, tasty and out of the ordinary. The service by all members of the team is impeccable! I recommend, especially on Fridays with their live Jazz band.
What a pleasure to experience professional service, which is difficult to find in this time of pandemic restrictions. Excellent food and drinks; the process of placing and receiving my cocktail order (the restaurant was very quiet at 6 p.m.) took time, but the wait meant I could enjoy the beautiful room. Im looking forward to returning.
Great wine at a descent price and atmosphere. The staff was also very helpful and nice.
Its an amazing bar that will never let you down. The drinks they offer are really good plus the food is very tasty. The ambiance when youre there is like a smooth jazz bar and the decor gives the place an air of the 1920s. Staff is knowledgeable and really friendly. Highly recommend this bar to get drinks and/or food and have a good time.
Perfect ambiance.
The place is warm and cozy, the food is great, and they had a live jazz trio playing (I went there on a Friday) that made the evening more special. I m looking forward to going back!
We visited the restaurant on Friday November 26, 2021 and spent the evening sitting at the bar. We were amazed from start to finish. The most friendly welcome from the butler, followed by very attentive service from the man at the bar. We also spoke with the owner who was just as friendly. The food was absolutely delicious (best octopus Ive eaten so far and what can I say about the Norwegian omelette flambée wow) and the wine pairing offered was on point. The jazz show at the end of the evening complemented everything. We will return there for sure!
Good wines. The dishes are good too
Good atmosphere, delicious food and good wines.
Very disappointed with the service, really poor for an establishment of this type. We were there twice and the waiter forgot us both times. The first time we waited 1 hour for our main course after ordering it. The service apologized and we did not hold it against it, this could happen. But here, the second time this happened, we didnt have a glass of water and we waited 30 minutes for our dessert order to be taken. So, we gave up and took the bill. The worst part of this story is the behavior of the waiter who complained (inappropriately and inappropriately) about only having a 15% tip on the total bill! And insisted on more! Amazing, I have never seen anyone complain about this tip and given the service it is unacceptable to make your customers uncomfortable. We will never go back there again. Come on Ciao Roseline.
