An amazing restaurant eith delicious food and an impeccable service !! A little too loud for my comfort but I think there was a lot of people enjoying their food and having a good time.
My friend and I visited Stellina on Sunday night with a last minute reservation and the only seats available were at the bar, which offered the perfect view of the open kitchen. Watching the chefs work was a treat in itself. The kitchen was incredibly organized, with each dish prepared with such attention to detail that it was almost like watching a performance. You could see the professionalism in every plate they sent out. We started with the Funghi Saltimbocca antipasto. For our main dishes, we went with two pasta selections: Taglioni and Rigatoni alla Carbonara. The carbonara seemed to be a crowd favorite; we saw it coming out frequently and quickly understood why. Rich, creamy, and delicious, it’s a must-try.
In our first trip to Montreal, Stellina was our favorite restaurant. The food was excellent, with fresh flavors that really stood out. The staff were attentive, caring, and had a cool demeanor that added to the overall experience. The decor and vibes were also fantastic, creating a welcoming and stylish atmosphere. We're already looking forward to our next visit to Stellina on our next trip to Montreal.
For the antipasti i had the Fricco and for the primi the Rotolo… boy were they delicious. The portions were good, the waiters were attentive, the ambiance was cozy. Expect to go into a food coma. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meals as well. Thank you Stellina!
Beautiful ambiance, incredible food, and super attentive service! Stellina is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in montreal! I’ve had their tasting menu twice and was blown away both times. So many savory dishes! I look forward to the next tasting experience!
Had the tasting menu because we were a group of 8 but we were so disappointed about the quality of the food. We had three course and I only liked about 2 of the dishes. I really felt like the food was overpriced and would never chose the tasting menu again. The drinks were also ridiculously priced.
First of all, waiters were rude and ignorant. Whenever we needed anything we had to call them more than 3 times although the restaurant was empty! We ordered the chef’s tasting menu it was delicious and they respected our dietary restrictions. We had the 3 course menu and it had a lot of food 💯
I had the lobster pasta, it was good but not worth $70 not much lobster in it. The service was great however. Focaccia was also not my favorite. We saw someone near us get the tasting menu and I would opt for that instead. Especially if they still have lobster left.
I loved the dishes, it was incredibly tasty and well made, the rotollo pasta was delicious, I fell in love with the onion and goats cheese tart, flaky and soft, a success! The service was perfect too! The only thing that spoiled our dinner was that there was nothing to dampen the sound, the room was extremely noisy and we had to scream all the way through and repeat constantly to understand each other. I wont go back because of that, its unpleasant to shout instead of talking normally. Its a shame because if the atmosphere were a little softer it would be an extraordinary restaurant!
Steak was disappointment compared to everything else
Good food however very mixed customer service. I have been waiting for a refund of $276 for over a month. Very disappointed with the follow-up.
Tasting menu is a beautiful array of delicious food for your soul. Fabulous vibe. Open kitchen showcases Chef Jonathans talents. 5 stars!
Italian restaurant with beautiful starters that can be shared. To highlight: the slice of ricotta bread! wow. We really liked the pasta, very al dente with good sauces. Definitely recommended and we already want to come back!
Wonderful experience. Fantastically flavored food. Great service. Food : 5/5
Do not be deceived by the diminutive menu. Stellina overdelivers. The descriptions are brief, but only because they don t want to brag. Each and every item we ordered was exceptional. It can t be luck. The kitchen focuses their energies on delivering perfection, not breadth. I highly recommend the rabbit cappellacci. Vegetarian options: Reasonable options that do not skimp on flavor
Warm atmosphere, the service is phenomenal! Thank you Jessica for making our experience so great!
Such an great experience at Sellina! Thank you so much to Jessica, our waitress, who took such amazing care of us!
Each dish was so good! I will be dreaming about it for nights to come! Service was great, clean and organized. Love watching the chefs do their thing in the kitchen. Honestly one of my fav places so far. We had the agnolotti and the rabbit just delicious!
Fantastic food and service, if we were staying in Montreal longer we would go back.
A lot of money for a raw pasta and a bitter expresso martini. Left really disappointed.
Overall we had a great experience but here are my comments: -service took a long time to receive the dishes (+/- 45 minutes) -main course was cold after the wait -the waiters dont give you time to finish your dish or your glass which they take away from you -the restaurant was very noisy -the tiramisu was superb -the carbonara was delicious -the fairly simple lamb pasta dish
We received a warm welcome, all the staff were very courteous including Maxime, the manager, Holdin, our server and even Massimo one of the owners. Very nice atmosphere in a well-appointed decor. Our favorite: lobster and corn ravioli. The marriage of flavors was perfect, a well executed dish with fresh homemade pasta. Hoping that this signature dish will stay for a while because it is so delicious.
Amazing service, but overcomplicating the dishes, too exotique, carbonara had a citrus flavor, pasta is cut into small pieces, and thus the plating is pretty the food does not match up to it. However the staff was nice and really attentive.
Very beautiful and good restaurant Incredible service not our server Robert Very professional, honest and funny
I can t speak highly enough of the food and service of the waitstaff. Best dining experience I ve ever had.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Great location, great staff, great menu, and amazing food! If youre looking for an excellent Italian restaurant in Montreal, this is the place to go.
What an experience. It was perfect. We had the tasting menu. Oh my gosh, rethinking what we ate still makes my mouth water.
Excellent food and very attentive staff.
Our reservation was at 7:15 PM. After waiting for 10 minutes in the entrance, the hostess temporarily seated us at a table outside. A server came to take our drink orders, but we never received them while outside. Around 8:00 PM, our table was finally ready. However, it took an additional 15 minutes to receive our first drinks order. There were no apologies, and no complimentary drinks were offered. The food is excellent, but the service leaves much to be desired, especially considering our bill was 800$ for four people.
We had a lovely time! The food was delicious and the manager takes great care of his customers! I recommend this restaurant and will return again!
Went there today with my daughter, one of the best meal we had, the food out of this world, the service 5 stars, will go back
Nice comfortable restaurant atmosphere with very nice cocktails. However, the food quality was mediocre at best with most dishes being over sauced, and filled with an excess amount of ricotta cheese very unnecessary, The beauty of Italian food is in its simplicity..and pasta being the simplest to cook.
Amazing food/service! Place was a little loud.
The food is amazing, the burrata 10/10, the pasta 10/10 and the tiramisu 10/10. The service is excellent too. The only comment was the wait to pay the bill was long but otherwise the service was great.
Visited August 12th - Agnolotti was bland and lacked taste as well as texture. Food is over-priced in comparison to portion. The pace in which you received your food was way too fast it is as if they wanted you out of there within 45 minute. Would not go back unless someone was treating for me
First of all, took 25min to get our drinks (were not even good), then the appetizers took another 20min, but i have to say, those were good, except for the fact that their portions are minuscule for the outrageous price, not worth it. Then, when we got our main meals, none of us enjoyed the food. Other than the fact that they only offer pasta, they are filled with oil, to a point where we all left the restaurant hungry since none of us could eat our dishes and nauseous. We left the restaurant at 10:50pm and it s now 3:45am, and my stomach is still acting up and i am still nauseous. Would DEFINITELY NOT recommend. I would never go back again.
Everything was really delicious, good wine list and service ok but very expensive. Between $35-40 for pasta dishes. At this price the portions should be bigger and the presentation at the top which is not the case.
Thought the service was good but shocked at how much the tasting menu cost us for lunch: it was over $80 each. It also took 2.5 hours and we had to ask several times where the next course was. Not a great value here and the food wasn t worth the wait.
Excellent food and excellent service ! My daughter went with her boyfriend and they also appreciated very much and this is why we went. Go there hungry and choose the $100 per person deal and you will walk out of there very happy ! Cheers !!
Overpriced. We sat at the bar and chose from a limited menu of pasta dishes. While they sounded great from the description none were more than just pasta dishes. Definitely lacked flair. Four pasta dishes and four beers for $240. We left unimpressed.
Just wow!!! Wonderful restaurant, the food was FABULOUS and what can I say about the service. Every employee was incredibly warm and attentive to us. I recommend 200%. Each dish on the tasting menu was better than the last!
Hospitality is on another amazing level. Food was delicious although it s somehow poor when it comes to variety but overall the place is on of the best
I like the burrata salad 10/10
A pure delight for the taste buds Eating at the counter is an experience
Robert was amazing, his attention to the details of each meal were delicately explained. He ensured our glasses never fell below half full and that our table always felt taken care of. As a frequent business traveller a friendly welcome is something that elevates the service and Robert hit the nail on the head.
To discover. One of the best restaurants I have eaten in my life. Good service and quality. Well done!
I had lunch here on Wednesday and I had to come back for dinner on Thursday. Thats how good it was. Definitely coming back. The lunch menu insalata was a little underwhelming even portion size. The mains were perfect in size.
I dont know what happened that night or if its always like this, but we ordered 4 different pasta dishes and they were all almost inedible... the braised lamb pasta was actually with ground meat and it tasted like hamburger helper. Even worse, the carbonara tasted burnt. It was very disappointing, especially since the atmosphere is good in the restaurant and we had the feeling that it would be excellent! But unfortunately its one of the worst restaurants Ive visited in 2024x
We had been to Stellina s around Christmas time and had a wonderful evening but our 2nd time was not as enjoyable. We brought our family from out of town and were quite disappointed. The service was not up to par to the amount of patrons that were seated. The food was good but not spectacular. Too many excellent restaurants to choose from in Montreal to have a bad experience. I don t think we will be back a 3rd time unfortunately.
Service was fantastic , intimate ambiance and pasta so simple yet so complex it was like i was back in Italy.
On site slow service, confused waiter, disappointing food, card machine tips 18% after taxes minimum
Superb restaurant, an incredible Italian atmosphere. The service is smooth and very professional. They take the time to explain the menu to you. The wine list is beautiful and for all budgets. Mention +++ to Tess. Stellana! torneremo!!
Wow!! What an absolutely amazing experience! My partner and I went for the tasting menu, and it did not disappoint! The burrata was by far the best I ve ever had. I m so happy we were able to sample so many delicious dishes. The service was impeccable, and I cannot wait to visit again next time we re in Montreal! The only real thing that I have to note, which has absolutely nothing to do with the food or the service, was how loud it was in there. There were a few large parties that were quite noisy, but again, nothing to do with the restaurant itself :) Dietary restrictions: We opted for the tasting menu, and they were able to accommodate our nut allergy :)
Would have given 5 stars but hear me out. I come regularly for the Agnolotti, but last time I was here there was a bone in my pasta which almost broke my tooth, and when I asked the server, he just looked at me and said oh before leaving. He did not ask me to change my plate, did not offer anything else, nothing...for a 35-40$ small plate of pasta, you expect way better service. Very disappointed in my last experience, which left a sour taste in my mouth. Debating whether Ill be back or not.
Maxime not too professional
Fantastic fresh lunch menu!
Incredible services, incredible gastronomical experience. Thanks for the tasting menu experience. Will come back and do it again. The place isn t cheap, but worth every dollar.
Can t say no to homemade pasta! The food is delicious and you can taste the quality. Will definitely revisit. Thank you!
Everything about this restaurant is fabulous! I was traveling for work, solo, and the staff at this restaurant were exceptionally warm and professional. The food is delicious and the drinks are on point. I havent had a proper Negroni or Boulevardier in awhile, and the ones served here were also exceptional.
My best restaurant ever ! Everything was delicious, seeing the chefs cooking was really sick and the service was 5 stars Food
Not a bad place. Food is good. Portions are not that huge and they are pricey. Cant say it was a bad experience going there but there are a lot better restaurants out there the same price but its not bad. If somebody said theyre going there to eat and ask me what I thought of it, I would recommend they go without saying anything wrong. Theres really nothing wrong. Its good, its just expensive and the portions are not huge. So if youre not too hungry, its a good place to go. If you dont mind paying a little bit. Staff was good. It was easy to find. I had heard a lot of hype about it on social media so I had to try it. So all this to say that you should go and maybe try it out. They dont have a big menu so what they have is good. Its fresh. So anyways go try this out. Folks get up, get out and go eat there. Dont forget to leave a review of what you thought of it. People really appreciate reviews so I give accurate descriptions from experiences and Ive had thousands and thousands of experiences in restaurants and parks and different recreational centers and areas. So dont hesitate folks go try it out. Let me know. Let us know. Let everyone know what you thought of it. If you agree or disagree go try it out. Its a good place. Okay good food. Just pricey. Thats the way to get a 3 from me.
Best tiramisu I have eaten. Outstanding service, great atmosphere, every dish was delicious!
Superb restaurant. The atmosphere is good although the volume of the music is quite high on weekend evenings. The service is good, the pastas are delicious, good wine list. The portions are small so I suggest ordering several plates and sharing.
Staff were overly welcoming as soon as we walked in the door. Food and atmosphere were top tier. Definitely will be back!
Incredible atmosphere, service and food
The food was good, but the prices seemed exaggerated for the quantity of food provided. The waiter asking for additional tips added to the disappointment.
Speechless:)
Great wine collection! Pastas are delicious but menu options could use some improvement. Espresso martini is a must try!
Easily one of the best italian tables in town, the service team is great and make you feel at home! Everything we had for dinner was great, and the bombolones were a perfect way to end that meal! Food
Really disappointed of the food here. I wanted to give this place a try but their pastas don t have any taste. The servings are also very small, pricy, tasteless and not worth the price. You can have much better Italian food in other places.
Beautiful restaurant, however, me and my girlfriend didn t like the drink or the food that much. We ordered a Limoncello and thought it was very plain, not really what we expected. Same thing with the pasta. The waitress was very professional and kind, the food didn t take long and the atmosphere was great.
We live in the neighborhood and we were definitely sleeping all this time for not going to Stellina! Both of the pasta dishes were beyond, the entrées very fresh and savoury and so were the cocktails. I m also vegetarian and they accomodated me very easily :)
Good but not perfect
Outstanding food and service. Robert, Eddy and Victor made our experiance incredible. Tasting menu, wine pairings, explanations of the food in detail. Everything exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to have a great culinary experiance.
Excellent dinner. Homemade pasta simply sublime. Amazing onion soup. Attentive service. THANKS!
Incredible delicious authentic chef food
I was visiting Montreal and thought I would try out a new dining place. Mind you we had high expectations due to prior dining experience in another restaurant near the same area. The atmosphere was nice when we walked in and they offered to take our coats for us. This was our first time in the restaurant and so we asked our server for recommendations trusting that she would be knowledgeable in recommending the dishes. I got all three main dish that she recommended and was very disappointed when it came out. All carbohydrates. All of our dish didn t include a single meat or protein. We were really surprised since we thought we would have an all rounder meal but we got 2 plates of pasta and potato gnocchi. We ended up ordering a plate of fish by ourselves to balance out all the pasta and carbs. The fish was okay, not the best I have tasted. The pasta was also not that great. If you plan on dining here, be sure to look over the menu carefully and don t get yourself a dinner full of carbs. This is a reminder that higher price DO NOT reflect the quality of the food.
2 stars just because the service was good. The food was awfully bad. No taste. The pasta was really bad. There are much better places for the price (even for less).
Just one word WOW! Excellent restaurant, impeccable service :) it s beautiful, the food is just perfectly prepared and the atmosphere impeccable! 1st visit and by far the last
I love the concept and ambiance of this place. Sat at the bar, and the drinks were good. However, the food wasnt up to our standard. We disliked half of what we ordered. Despite calling ahead to ask about vegan options, I found there wasnt much choice upon speaking to the chef. I ended up with a mediocre pasta with tomato sauce, which I had to heavily season with hot sauce for flavor. The salad I ordered as an entre (INSALATA) cost $22, which I found ridiculous for the portion and ingredients. My friend had the bone marrow and oxtail pasta called Angolotti; he said it was bland, lacked flavor, and the portion was insufficient for the $35 price tag. When our bartender/waitress asked how it was and we expressed dissatisfaction, she simply took the plate away without further inquiry. Another friend had a creamy pasta that he found overly rich, and he informed the waitress. They also ordered the octopus entré ($28) to share, which they both disliked. The waitress kindly removed it from the bill but only compensated one of them with bread and a sauce, and then charged us for this compensation. They also shared the mushroom and prosciutto entré (funghi saltimbocca $23), which they found okay. Some of us left hungry. The service was decent, with hardworking waitstaff and an okay waitress/bartender. Overall, I recommend this place for drinks with friends. However, the food was not great and overpriced. I might return to try the actual menu once my vegan diet is over. For now, Im giving this restaurant 2 stars. I hope this review helps both the business and the customers.
Fantastic experience. I will be back! Service is 10/10 The design and decor is stunning. The food was thoughtful, rich and plated beautifully. Just go try!
The person who left the review below me is angry she got carbohydrates served in a restaurant specialized in pastas. The food is amazing and the burrata was the thing we liked the most. Recommend so much if you re visiting Montreal even if the price is a bit high.
Beautiful dining room, incredible Italian food! So many fun pasta shapes and dishes, was hard to choose what to get so will be coming back to try another! Tiramisu was also one of the best Ive ever had
The food in this restaurant is delicious. The waiter, waitress and bus boys are welcoming and give good advice. Unfortunately, an employee dressed in a blue suit this evening was despising us and didnt accept observations. Instead of listening to us, he was rude.
The waitress at the bar was stupid, it seemed like we were bothering her, you had to get up to get her attention to order. The starters are very good but the pasta leaves something to be desired. The decor is beautiful!
We had reservations at the Chefs bar, an extraordinary welcome, it was our first time and its as if we were regular customers! A kindness and friendliness that is lacking in many restaurants currently! Excellent food, we had the tasting menu and were not disappointed! Nice selection of wine! We will come back!!! Thank you for this beautiful evening!
Best Italian I ve ever had.
My partner and I came here for our fifth year anniversary and let me tell you. DID NOT DISAPPOINT. One of the best restaurants I ve ever been to. The atmosphere, our server, and the food was all exceptional. Come here if you re looking for a great meal with a cute environment. We are from New York and came to visit here for the weekend and this really set the bar high for other restaurants in Montreal. 12/10 experience.
Overpriced but food it s amazing
Walked in was seated and then given menus that were completely faded and unreadable waiters could not explain menu at all me and 3 others settled on getting the tasting menu which on the menu says 80-100$ that s it and that s what we expected as our waitress never mentioned that it was 100$ a person despite us being young and clearly not understanding the menu when we finished and received our bill we were choked to see a sum of 460$ we sucked it up and payed we did not leave tip on machine as we were going to leave cash tip before even getting the chance our waitress Juana snipped at us and in a smug voice said no tip we then gave a cash tip only 20$ yes but we were already not prepared to pay 460$ on dinner and that was clear by our faces after receiving the tip Juana went over to a colleague of hers and was seen very clearly bad mouthing us behind our back this is by far the worse experience I have ever had at a restaurant and would recommend that NOBODY EVER COME TO THIS GOD AWFUL ESTABLISHMENT
This place sells garbage food at a stupidly high price the service is awful slow and waitress/waiters are rude atmosphere is bland and loud if you are in Montreal and want to waste your money come here if you want a good experience go literally anywhere else
Food is used to be really good , they recently changed the menu so i lowered the stars on the review, Place is always great, staff is nice and the terrace is cozy
Quite possibly the best pasta I ve ever eaten and I ve taken a two week trip through Italy!
Amazing food and good details to plating and creativity , i removed one star because i find it quite expensive, overall i was content with the food
New Favorite Spot. Was incredibly impressed by the tasting menu
Upon our arrival, we requested a table in the dining room and not at the bar. The staff kindly accommodated us. Our server (unfortunately forgot his name but arrived in Quebec since September from California) offered us exceptional service. Excellent food. Affordable wine. Sublime pistachio tart dessert. What can we say about the Negroni Rosita WoW. A happy 28th birthday. Thanks to Stellina
A simply excellent place! The excellent cuisine, the super friendly service, the attentive staff! Like being at home in Italy! Thank you for this pleasant and precious moment! Thank you Massimo, a Quebec owner who has kept his Italian soul!
Service was great but food portions were terrible for the price and food tasted fake I was very disappointed
Beyond incredible! Food was ridiculously good, we did the tasting and got a total of 11 plates and they were all fantastic! My fav
I loved Stellina. I am extremely picky with Italian food considering I lived there for an extended period and therefore struggle to find good Italian food outside Italy. I loved that many people in the kitchen were actually speaking Italian, which made me feel like they knew what they were doing, as the cooks and chef themselves were from there. The food was absolutely amazing also. I recommend the tarta di cipolla, pappardelle, tagliatelle al ragù and the crudo entree. I must say that that texture of the panna cotta was not good. It was like a pudding rather than the true flan-esque texture of an authentic italian panna cotta. The taste however was nice. Amazing experience. I will return. Grazie
One of the best and few Italian restaurants in the city. I definitely recommend going.
Amazing food great service. I highly recommend the tasting menu.
It was 100% worth the hype. We had the chefs tasting menu and enjoyed every bite of it. Servers were very attentive and made sure we had everything we need. Cozy atmosphere, will return
It is truly a gem in the old port. A big 10/10 From the freshness of their pastas to their seafood and meats, we absolutely loved every single bit. I recommend the sharing menu as you fully get a taste of this fantastic true Italian cuisine.
My favorite Italian resto in Montreal!!! Where do I start? The pasta selection is yummy personified, the cocktails are well-thought of and so fun, and the desserts are the perfect balance between traditional and signature. Love love LOVE the restaurants motto hahaha (IYKYK). I visit whenever I can and have recommended it to several friends and relatives, as well as acquaintances and strangers :D.
Since it s opening, we have been going to Stellina on a weekly basis. The Chef s talent is undeniable. He brings a fresh perspective on Italian cuisine and captures its authenticity in his own way. The wine list is really great and we have a lovely time discovering Italian regions through it. To top it all, the service is incredible as well. Stellina is a true Montreal gem!
If you visit this place please be sure to book a place at the kitchen bar. It s always fun and nice seeing those guys working in sync to prepare amazing dishes. Service was exceptionally great, the server did a great job taking me through the menu and helping me to decide wich was my best option in addition to an entertaining conversation while checking in for assuring the best experience.
Pleasant welcome and very attentive service (special mention for the adorable waiter), excellent cocktails and wine, as well as the food. Great offer for vegetarians. The meal is hearty and very satisfying. Starter, main course, dessert (luckily shared dessert) + cocktail and wine = a hundred dollars. It s expensive but it s good! This is a good address
Very disappointed with the service.
The service is great! We drank good wine. The atmosphere of the restaurant is good. On the other hand... yes we are in the old port of Montreal so higher price, no worries we know what it is, but serving bland tortellini, with a cheese sauce without consistency at $38 (excluding taxes and tips) in plus there is almost nothing to eat on the plate. Im a really good payer but here... Please respect people and above all respect Italians
Good location. Friendly service. Must make a reservation in advance. They do get busy. 1 out of 4 of our pastas was cold. They tried to make up for it which was nice. I would come back but if you are hungry or coming on a date, make sure you have time to spend the evening there. The pasta is decent when it is served warm. Big selection of wine to chose from. Not some place I would bring my clients to.
Way too expensive for what it is.
Extra salty hard uncooked pasta had to return. Rude chef & waitress. Appetizers were good. Avoid
Food is ok, the service is not really good but the atmosphere is good if you are going to hang out
Amazing experience at Stelina ! Our waiter Jeffrey was so helpful. Unbelievably they have home made gluten free pasta which was delicious! We will definitely come back !
Very classy atmosphere, more on the pricey side.. The service was good and the food too, expected better pasta but it was good overall
Best desert I have ever had.
My husband and I came to Stellina for our anniversary dinner. We had such a wonderful time there. We ended up staying for about 3 hours and never felt rushed once. The food was impeccable. Our favorites were the burrata, branzino, and homemade focaccia with prosciutto butter. I can t remember the names of the pasta dishes we got, but they were absolutely delicious. The pasta is made fresh daily, and the quality is phenomenal. The staff was extremely knowledgeable of the menu, and very helpful with making recommendations. Our waitress Tess was amazing, and provided excellent service. We cannot wait to come back!
Not bad, but doesnt stand out from other Italian restaurants in the area which are better at comparable prices.
Nice evening, everything was good. A bit pricy but were in the old Port.
Extremely noisy restaurant, we only want to get out of there as quickly as possible. The dishes are good but nothing more (the stuffed zucchini flowers were disgusting), plentiful, but what can we say about the prices which are not justified in view of this menu which was nothing transcendent. The impeccable service (friendly waitress, smiling and knowing what she was talking about) compensates for this bad general impression.
This is a great example of what difference it makes when you put your heart at work. Thanks for making such good food. I am always happy at heart when I eat at Stellina. Enthusiastic team which creates a good atmosphere. I ll be back soon.
Burrata was delicious bur the pastas were way too salty and undercooked. Also very pricey for what you get
Trendy Italian eatery near old Montreal with a dynamic and adventuresome menu that incorporates modern flair with tasty market ingredients.
This is a good restaurant with high quality food and professional service staff. On the other hand is a noisy environment which makes difficult a conversation
This is, without a doubt, the best fine dining Italian kitchen in Montreal as of the time Im writing this review. The atmosphere was good, the service was excellent, but lets face it, youre here to learn about the food. And the food was phenomenal. We took the sharing option for 4 people and almost sampled the whole menu. Everything is done in beautiful simplicity. There arent 72 ingredients per plate, but rather just a few flavours that shine in every bite. The raw appetizers (carpaccio and branzino) were well seasoned and garnished. The zucchini flowers were packed with flavour and the octopus was grilled just right, which is not an easy feat even for big chefs. The focaccia is in a league of its own. It was unapologetically oily. Its reminding you that youre not here to diet ; youre here to make your tastebuds feel alive! It was sublime. The pasta plates... Well, this is not a commercial kitchen trying to produce as many spaghetti bolognese per hour as they can. This is a kitchen where the chef seems to be cooking what he likes, and you can feel it in every plate. Everything was well balanced and delicious. The meat! Great cut, great meat quality. It beats most big and fancy steakhouses in town, but I wasnt here for the steak. What Ill say is if you have a celiac person in your party who cant have pasta, they will certainly enjoy the steak. If theyre both celiac and vegan, well you need new friends. The desserts! They went simple. I was worried. Its a gamble, but its a winning one. It works. The panna cotta is to die for and the torta caprese could break couples if there was only 1 slice left at the end of the night. Finally, the wine selection and recommendations were great. If you want a better Italian meal, youre going to have to book yourself a plane ticket to Italy, drive to an Italian village and try to charm an old nonna into adopting you for a day. Ill be back soon to try whatever is left on the menu!
Good food. Ok service. Our waitress came off as a little pretentious. The atmosphere was nice. However, there was a constant humming/vibration noise coming from the vinyl ceiling (ventilation, I presume). The pastas we had were all good. The steak was ok.
Excellent atmosphere excllent service amazing food
Best pasta in the Old Port Downtown! A true master s work by Chef Agnello and his team.
Food and Service was amazing! Highly recommend if your in Montreal! Sit at the kitchen bar and you can watch all the food being made. Very cool experience!!
This restaurant definitely deserves a 5* by far the best italian food ive had in montreal.
Food was amazing. Waitress had great recommendations. Service was top notch. Will definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu.
Excellent food and service outside small terrace with nice city vibe Thanks you again.... Food
love this place...food is excellent and vibe is really fun. it is a bit loud but other than that I would highly recommend.
Phenomenal food and service.
Stopped by for a quick lunch. Great service and value for the food. Unique tastes and elevated lunch dishes. Atmosphere was quite loud and disruptive. Overall would recommend. Vegetarian options: Pasta & salad
The service was absolutely exceptional! Its been a long time since Ive received service like this at a restaurant. Food was very good and the atmosphere was great as well. I highly recommend you give it a try!
Overall the food was quite good with the gnocchi and lamb ragu being exceptional. They did not live up to the hype and i did not feel that warmth from the Italian culture, hence the 4 stars. I will return
We sat down at our table and Leo explained everything on the menu in detail so we chose the agnolotti and the cappellacci. Let me tell you that the agnolotti were extremely delicious, well cooked, I couldnt believe how good it was and so were the cappellacci. We also had the focaccia with the prosciutto butter and that was its phenomenal! All this to say that this restaurant is fantastic, our table on the patio was nice and quiet, the service was impeccable. We highly recommend this restaurant. A true gem!
Best Rigatoni I have ever had in my life. Amazing service and wonderful atmosphere. While we were eating we made reservations for the nl
The food is out of this world, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. I loved this place and had to go back!
The chef s tasting menu was amazing!! Highly recommend.
Fresh homemade pasta in an upscale setting. Delicious cocktails, fancy vibe and amazing plates.
Great food the tasting menu both at 80 and 100$ are really worth it. Very fresh tasty food the pasta melts in your mouth. And all the dishes are an explosion of tastes. Food : 5/5
We went to Stellina reataurant for lunch. The interrieur is very modern and fancy, with a nice wine display. Waiters was very knowleagble about the menu. He explained every single item on the menu. We ordered 3 antipasti, Fiora Di Zucca, Insalata caprese, and Melanzane Ripiene. We also ordered 3 primi. Paccheri al nero di seppa, Pansotti, and NY steak. The food was good but not the best food I have had better. It s definitely worth trying it.
n incredible experience, every dish was like a work of art. I am impressed. Thanks to the entire team of the restaurant.
Always nice to spend an evening at Stellina. A+ Atmosphere, A+ Service, A+ Food!!! Special mention to the manager Victor who went above and beyond for this festive evening last Friday. It was very much appreciated!
Finally a place in Montreal that knows how to serve homemade pasta and have an original menu. This place reminds me of Italy, everything is handmade and the dishes are extremely delicious. The cocktails were really good, and the ambiance is amazing. To the owners and staff, you ve outdone yourselves. This place is severely underrated and is a must try for a date night out in Montreal!
The food, service, and atmosphere were all fantastic! My partner and I went here for my birthday and tried the tasting menu. Everything we had was 10/10 and they happily accommodated all of my dietary needs.
The place was busy. The atmosphere was great. The service was on point. Unfortunately, the steak recommended by the waiter absolutely sucked. Everything else was pretty good.
Went there for a birthday; Service is nice and friendly. The food: very blend and way overpriced. I can t believe they rip off people like that for small portions with barely anything unique. All plates are over-seasoned with parm cheese. Anyways way too expensive for basic fancy wannabe food. The only reason why I give it a 3/5 and not s 2/5 -> the tiramisu is honestly the best I ve ever had.
We went for a birthday dinner on a Saturday evening and A1 service/food (every interaction with no matter the A1 staff). I highly recommend
Amazing first experience at Stellina! Our server was super helpful with recommendations and provided us with A+ service. Food was fantastic, will be back! Food
Food and service was fantastic
Seafood pasta was terrible. 1 shrimp cut in 4 the seafood tasted frozen and pasta undercooked -u could still see the flour . Friends pasta over cooked. The so called ricotta crostini had way to much whip cream filler . Place is beautiful but definitely not real Italian cooking.
Food was amazing for a large group with share plates. The servers were very attentive and friendly. I would recommend having a meal here while in Montreal. Food : 5/5
Wow
Excellent service, amazing food, fantastic wine and amari selection - highly recommend!
I love Stellina! Its one of the places I recommend to people when they are visiting. Its best to get a few plates and share (get less than what they recommend, I find its always too much). The food is great but I really wish they would add/change up the menu a bit more. I find myself going less because not much has changed in the past year. Nevertheless, for at least once, you should try it!
Overrated restaurant. Definitely overpriced considering the quality of the food however, great overall atmosphere. Would not go back.
Great Italian fine dining. Did experience quite long wait times, but the food and drinks were lovely. Winner of the meal was dessert. Tiramisu!
Great food, good service, friendly staff.
I recommend to ask to sit by the kitchen bar. Its a dinner and a show in one. The chefs are simply amazing and entertaining. The food is flavourful and portions are decent. We tried the $80 tasting menu and the server picked out some great choices. The ravioli and the pasta with cream sauce and 36 month old aged parmesan is to die for....all the antipasto choices he gave us were incredible. They have such a passion to make you a great meal and bring an authentic atmosphere and recipes to the table. Bravo and I will definitely be going again before I leave Montreal.
We had the tasting menu and what a great experience! Loved the food and service while sitting at the bar watching the team prepare the food. Will definitely go back the next chance we have.
Best pasta in Montreal highly recommend.
Great food. Could not give it a five star rating. The place is small and tight and the noise level was really unbearable. Forget about talking at your table.
Love the food and the service. Atmosphere was good. First time visiting and we will definitely be back.
We went to Stellina for lunch. The food and service were excellent. The pasta was just perfect. It also looked tpo pretty to eat. Food
**Stellina: A Taste of Authentic Italy in Montreal** Nestled in the vibrant culinary landscape of Montreal, Stellina stands out as a delightful haven for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the aroma of fresh herbs and simmering sauces transports you straight to the heart of Italy. **Food: 4.5/5** Stellina boasts a menu that captures the essence of Italian flavors, and the dishes served during my lunch visit did not disappoint. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauces were rich and full-bodied. The simplicity and authenticity of the ingredients shone through, creating a memorable dining experience. However, the menu, while delightful, could benefit from a touch more variety. **Service: 5/5** The service at Stellina is impeccable. Attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, the staff contributed significantly to the overall positive experience. Recommendations were spot-on, and the pace of the meal was well-managed, allowing us to savor each course. **Ambiance: 3.5/5** While the restaurants interior exudes a cozy and intimate atmosphere, the noise level during lunch was notably high. The clatter of dishes and the hum of conversation made it challenging to engage in a quiet tête-à-tête. If you prefer a more serene dining experience, an evening visit might be more suitable. **Overall Experience: 4/5** Stellina is undoubtedly a gem for those seeking an authentic Italian dining experience in Montreal. The flavorful dishes and top-notch service make it a standout choice for any food enthusiast. While the noise level during lunch was a minor drawback, it did not overshadow the overall positive impression left by Stellina. For an Italian culinary journey that feels like a trip to the heart of Rome, Stellina is a must-try in the Montreal restaurant scene.
Very good traditional Italian food for a decent price. The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely delicious. Perfect for a romantic date.
3.5 stars Lets start with the service, the waitress was amazingly nice and patient with us. She took the time to give explanations and her recommandations. As for the atmosphere, it feels very elegant and cozy, we loved the whole decor. For the food, the pasta are homemade on the spott, and it really shows. However the price to portion ratio was not satisfying for us. I ordered the agnolotti for 35$ and I had about 10 pasta in my plate, and the food was not hot. I understand that we pay for freshness and quality, but the portion just was very deceiving for me. However, my friends ordered the lobster pasta and that portion was rather reasonable for 2 persons (it was meant to be shared), but it was 40$ per person. So the food was good, but nothing out of the extraordinary. There are better italian places in Montréal which are more worth the price.
Food was excellent, sitting at the bar, it s the worst uncomfortable stools I ever sat on, made me almost not enjoy my food, please change those $2 stools they need to go. Parking: Please get a valet
Great Italian restaurant
