Is this an under pour? Because it happened - twice. The second time, I asked. The server said it wasnt. I looked around at all the other glasses of wine and they were definitely in the normal pour category. As someone who goes out regularly, mostly to indulge in private imports... disappointing and disappointed. Once, okay. But twice?

Excellent food! Cool atmosphere, but very noisy. We waited for over an hour, but it was worth it! Order several dishes to share with the whole table, so you can try everything.

Great vibes, decent food, good drinks

A colleague told me about Stem Bar and said it was good, that is a total understatement. I truly loved everything about this place. Our server was outstanding and the food, whoa! The Crudo de petoncles was heavenly. The only reason for the 4 stars on food is the burrata dish, which was my least favourite, although still good. If you have not been yet, GO! No reservations required!

Very nice evening at the Stem bar. Excellent food (burrata and pancake, just delicious and original, incredible Brussels sprouts and delectable beef tartare). We also liked the fennel salad and the lemon tart. The portions are generous which I really appreciate, because the wine is more expensive. Good atmosphere, but quite noisy! :)

I recommend this place!

We were given a 10 minute wait time. It took an hour. Not worth the wait. As someone who loves salty food, the food was incredibly oversalted. Best I can say is that I had a couple very nice wines.

They tell you 10 minutes so you order wine and get relaxed, then you wait an hour more to actually sit down. Foods decent even if half the menu is over salted.

They dont take reservations, but there was very little wait for our group of 4 on a Wednesday evening! The burrata is a must, the savory pancakes that accompany it are to die for! The Brussels sprouts dish is also very good! Perfect evening! :)

Food was priced reasonably, especially as compared to the neighboring Joe beef restaurants. Good wine list, and friendly relaxed service. For a Tuesday night, very good ambiance.

New favorite in Montreal! The dishes are original and absolutely delicious (especially the burrata accompanied by small pancakes and the tuna crudo). The wine list is diverse. I will definitely be going back!

More than basic service. Honestly we haven t had a poor service like that in years. Zero manners, very robotic. Nicest touch was the matchbox. We re such people person, we get along nice with bartenders and waiters everywhere we go side note. So to feel that rude, it has to be hella rude. Glad we didn t stay long.

Disappointing. The service was average and the food didnt impress us. We waited 30 minutes between the last course, we had time to lose our appetite. $200 for two people without dessert with 3 drinks of alcohol. Too expensive and mediocre

Fast and efficient service, friendly and attentive staff. Seasonal menu with a lot of variety. Little bit on the pricey side but worth the quality. The burrata and the crudo were delicious. Was a bit thrown off by the lemon pie. Im a big fan of lemon meringue pie, but they put sea salt on it, like a lot. This pie was a salty one, not sweet. Maybe some people like it but the dinner finished on a meh note because of it.

Im not much of a tapas person, but everything was very tasty! A great culinary experience and a good atmosphere. The service was great. The waitress gave us time to enjoy our evening

One of our favorite places. The dishes are always great, the wines too, and a superb atmosphere both inside and on the terrace in summer. However a little smile on the waitresses faces could add a pleasant side to the service, I have been there several times and unfortunately the smile does not seem to be part of the task. Its a shame!

One of the best restaurants that I have discovered in Montreal this year. The food is insane. The taste palates are unique and well balanced. The drinks, especially the martini, are perfect. The wine selection is extensive and well chosen. Must try.

Really cool space with great food. I can t wait to try more items on the menu. I ve been back a few times and each time the food gets better and better this is one of my top picks for Montreal in the summer because the ingredients are very seasonal so everything is very fresh. Also they seem to be pretty on point with their service and seating dogs is also cool lol.

A variety of wines are selected by a sommelier who studied in Europe The food is all very delicious and this is my favorite restaurant. Even though I dont speak French, the friendly staff is very helpful.

I love it!

It s a good one to have some drink and relax. But I had a surprise, I ordered some cheese fry food suggested by a waiter but after I tasted it , It was so bitter and I felt like a punishment to eat it. I told the same to the waiter and she asked me If she could remove and did it. At the end , when I asked to give some discount she said no because I just tasted it. I felt it unfair because I didn t have that food which was suggested by them but paid for it.

$32 for tiny little pasta plate with lamb more like infused with lamb flavor. It was good but there is the but... Drink menu is reasonable, but its expensive overall for what it is. Wouldnt go again probably. Very overpriced and a lil pretentious.

Amazing restaurant and cute vibe! Great place to go on a date or with friends. We tried a lot of things on the menu and all of it was delicious except for the radicchio and gorgonzola (the flavours didn t work together). My boyfriend loved the rillettes (he wanted to order seconds) and the beef carpaccio was excellent as well! If you enjoy seasonal menus with fresh ingredients, I highly recommend!

Good wine food and vibe.

Weekday evening, 4 people. First, know that they do not take reservations. There were a lot of people even on a Tuesday evening but arriving early we easily had a place. Seats at the bar, high tables or low tables available. We tasted 10 of their dishes (including both desserts). Crunchy marinated vegetables in oil, burrata with savory pancakes (one of my favorite dishes of the evening), a tomato salad with crunchy croutons, the roasted Brussels sprouts were really excellent too, the arancino, the salmon crudo which was good but the portion was really small for $18 -5 slices of salmon-, beef carpaccio. For main course we had the braised lamb cavatelli, a good choice. Both desserts were good but not a big favorite. No decaf. Quite high noise level. Very friendly service from our main waitress.

Always happy with my experience at Stem Bar. The food is great and changes pretty often. The secret menu if known is a great surprise. The wine selection is spot on - very very good selection. Oh and the meringue is always a great way to end the night.

Food tasted good but overpriced for what it was. Drinks were also not great. Servers were friendly but strangely slow when we wanted to pay. Really underwhelming in comparison to other options in Montreal.

TO AVOID: 30 min wait for NOT GOOD FOOD, $1 stickers, and no trash This place looked cute so my kids and I thought it might be interesting to try on a nice sunny day. We ordered, grilled cheese, halloumi toast with apples and kale, salad, and tomoato soup. It wasnt particularly crowded but I waited with my two little ones for more than 30 minutes to get out food! While we were waiting, I saw stickers (no price) and thought it might be nice for the kids...turns out they were $1 each (after I had just spent over $50 on food!). The food itself was practically inedible. My kids were starving by the time we got our food and they eat everything (from escargot to brussel sprouts!). The fact that they wouldnt eat the food despite their hunger says a lot. The tomato soup was peppery, the halloumi toast had no apples, and the grilled cheese was greasy and had some sort of weird pepper spread. Honestly, if you list a classic like grilled cheese on the menu...it should be grilled cheese unless you say otherwise. On top of the wait and the bad food, they provided places to eat outside their restaurant but no place to put the trash. Someone came in with what was left of their take out asking and they were told there was a public trash bin half a block away! If you have a place for people to eat, provide a place for them to throw out their garbage!

Delicious and fresh food (lamb tartar was amazing, burrata, tuna crudo, octopus, burger and crinkle fries, the last goes on), great service, and the best sommelier with tasty orange wines (and all other types). You wont be disappointed!

Evolving (I use this word intentionally) menu. Seasonal, sharable dishes that can please any group. Interesting vegetable dishes, modern takes on seafood and fish. They have a placeholder burger and fries on the menu that my bf says is a very solid. The staff are wonderful and take the time to recommend the best drinks for you. They take a lot of pride in their wine and beer offering and they should its well-curated, fun and refreshing. Tommy at the bar is your man for any cocktail.

We went to Stem because at Fiorellino, which is right across the street, treated us disrespectfully. We were so happy with our choice!! The food at Stem is incredibly delicious (juicy & tasty), the wine choice amazing and overall a beautiful laidback ambiance. Planning on returning soon ;)

This might have been one of the least pleasant dining experiences I have had in Montreal. To start off, the dishes were indescribably underwhelming. The idea of deconstructed food is not an inherently bad one, and can be wonderful if done right. This was not the case. The chips and dip was not bad perse, but it was strange that the chips were store-bought and served inside the bag. The beef tartare was not a beef tartare, but a flat pancake of lightly cooked ground meat with celeriac sprinkled on top. The courge delicata was nothing but a few stingy slices of delicata squash swimming in cooking oil and buried under a pile of uncooked spinach. The food was well seasoned, and the music choice and atmosphere were cozy. Unfortunately, this only makes the experience even more frustrating because the food is so lackluster. Not to mention the pricetag of $65.54. Personally, this place was nothing but lackluster and a waste of money and time. I wish anyone who comes here a good time, but I would not recommend it to begin with.

Absolutely delicious restaurant. Stem provides not only a cute vibe close to the metro but also wonderful service. The dishes were incredible, and everything was seasoned to perfection. Definitely recommend the squash, just WOW.

Glad theres finally a great wine bar in the area focused more on the drinks than the food. My only complaint is the music is way too loud even earlier in the evening that you almost have to yell (would deserve a 5 if this was improved even a little)

Beautiful atmosphere and place. On the other hand, the food was very disappointing! A small bag of Miss Vickys chips with sour cream without seasoning! We almost thought it was a joke... The service from the various employees was not friendly. We asked the waiter which microbrewery beers were on the menu and he didnt even know them... He didnt try to find the information either... Frankly, for the price, its not worth it at all worth it!

Delicious dishes to share, Ottolenghi style cuisine. The menu is short, but impeccable. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service is quite friendly. On the other hand, the wine list by the glass only offers 2 choices and the volume of the music was excessively loud when I went, and it was difficult to hear yourself speak.

Great place! I have been there a few times and the service is always impeccable and the atmosphere warm. The menu changes with the seasons, so there s always something different to try. I like the format to share! When you think youve tasted the best thing on the menu, theres always something that can top it! And that s without mentioning Micro s wines and beers.
