I hate when poke places fill two third of your bowl with plain lettuce. For that reason only, Kioko earns extra stars: their poke bowls are full to the brim with fresh & filling ingredients. The combo mango/salmon/edamame is out of this world. I've ordered their sushis too in the past, with no complaint, except maybe that it's on the pricier side (their poke, again, are decently priced tho so I keep coming back for that). I order ahead of time, it's always ready when I come pick it up, the staff is lovely, atmosphere inside is meh but I'd say it's a take out more than dine in place.
Cozy place, good food, passionate chef. The sushis are fresh, full of flavors and well presented. It is worth the price and the staff is polite and welcoming - if you want to try the restaurant order their Sakura dish!
I am so fortunate to have this gem of a restaurant in my neighbourhood although I know a lot of people make the trek across town to have the delightful offerings of Le Kioko. The food is fresh and delicious and made to order. Every dish that I have tasted has been a delight. Beautiful presentation and top shelf quality. The staff is warm and welcoming. You can tell that making the customer happy is their number one priority. I always feel special when I go there. If you are lucky enough to catch them when they have tuna belly, that is a real treat! Enjoy life and eat great sushi!
Vraiment un bonne place pour le sushi. On a partagé un par entre nous et c'était fantastique. The mix platter included some special studio not just run of the mill cheap stuff. The rice wasn't as tasty as other places but the taste overall was amazing. As if it was planned that way to have the ingredients speak for themselves.
Whenever we crave for sushi, Le Kioko is our first choice. Good price, good quality. Tasty menu to enjoy your evening with a takeout. We usually grab a tray for two people and a chef's specialty. Next time, we'll try to dine in!
You should order ahead for pick up. About 15-20 minutes. I did not do that, I just stumbled in but they were nice and were able to rush it for me. I didn't wait too long. The sushi tastes good and there is a lot to chose from and a fun mix, pretty sure one of my sushi was missing the shallots as well. The fish wasn't well prepped. There was a lot of skin left on mine and it was not fun to bite into. In fact, it's chewy and impossible to eat so I'd spit it out (sorry for that image). I have a photo to show what I mean. It's alright but I wouldn't crave going back.
I have been searching for a good sushi restaurant with high quality fish and rolls and finally there's one. So we went in (3 of us). First impression is the the atmosphere is quite zen. They don't put up a lot of decorations, but it's still cozy. There were not many tables so you might feel a bit empty however it's chill and chic at the same time (owner said he's working on it since the resto is only 5 months old, I can't wait for the next visit). We ordered most of the sashimi and the fishes were super fresh! We also had 2 tartares, one salmon and one tuna and I fell in love with the tuna one! One of the best! Sushis were decent too since I've been a big fan of maki. Price is decent for that kind of quality of dishes. They are still working on their alcohol so be prepared for more! Finally, the waitress was awesome, she's so sweet and nice, gave us many recommendations. If you're looking for a good authentic sushi restaurant, please check this one out, guarantee they won't let you down!

Honestly the best sushi for the price Ive had in Montreal.
Everything is delicious, especially Tarantula and Caterpillar, to be enjoyed without hesitation! On the other hand, the atmosphere in the restaurant is not pleasant, with people coming and going and the overwhelmed waiter unable to keep up. This is a place to take away or have it delivered. The toilets and the bathroom are very dirty, avoid going there! We wonder if the food was clean and hygienic since the employees use the same bathroom! Damage!
Food was so-so, but considering the price, the quality is below average. Nothing was special. There are more places that serve better sushi with better service too. Very slow service and its clear that there are many 5-star reviews coming from their own staff.
Premium quality, well priced, specialty rolls full of texture, flavor, freshness, and of course their sauces and wasabi were spot on too! It exceeds my expectations my cravings satisfied every time

Find somewhere else to eat! The sushi was correct... the platter was magnificent (to the eye) BUT WHAT I CANNOT EXPLAIN: How would a 33 piece dish for $48 + an edamame starter for $6 + taxes come to $72??? Oh and they didnt provide me with an invoice either, Im sure its all very legal (sarcasm).
This place took over 2 hours (still haven t received my order) to deliver food. Called them and their only excuse was that they re busy. Do not order from them on Uber eats, they don t care about people that order delivery.

Excellent value for money I often go there for lunch and I have the cambo lunch everything is good not to mention the service always smiling and friendly and very fast.
Great neighborhood restaurant and what can I say about the service I arrived right around dinner time, with a large order and the owner informed me that there was about a 45 minute wait, which I accepted . Finally he made my order in less than 15. Very friendly service and employee, I recommend without hesitation!

We ordered the 80-pc platter for a martial arts club event, and it was a huge hit! Not a single morsel left behind! We loved not only the presentation and variety of ingredients but the freshness and wonderful diversity of flavours. There were many compliments to the chef. The restaurant only had 2 other small tables, the service was incredibly slow, even just to bring out miso soup it took them 20 mins, they have no printed menus, they put your water glasses upsides down right after the server wipes down the table with windex so that was your glass tastes like windex or just have it be dirty for the table, the food was ok but definitely not worth the super slow service

DO NOT SUPPORT A RESTAURANT WHERE THE OWNER HAS PREDATORY BEHAVIOR! Johnny the owner likes to hire young girls as cashier and take advantage of them, this is coming from past workers. Clearly the #metoo movement just flew by him. Other than that the food here is also very normal, everything just tastes like mayo. He also likes to smoke in the restaurant, never washes his hands and has a constant cough when preparing your sushi, eat at your own risk. He clearly has a big ego and thinks he owns the world.

FYI: This is for delivery, not in house. I prefer a consistently a just-okay place where I know what to expect as opposed to a place that serves a tasty meal une fois sur deux. So the first few times I ate there pre COVID, I thought it was a nice addition to the area and worth your while in terms of value. Then when COVID hit, I believe I ordered about 4 times. 1/2 times it was a well-beyond-what-I-paid presentation, taste and the rolls were rolled delicately and with a cleanliness. The other half of the time, it looked more like it was thrown onto the takeout platter. The rolls weren t tight, the presentation was messy and the fish didn t seem fresh. I assume its due to them being successful and busy. I want this place to succeed, especially since it s a family owned place and not a group whatever. I personally think it s worth your while. In terms of service, I had a generally good experience. Using Uber must be frustrating for the store owners, because it takes a large cut out of an already struggling and thin-margined restaurant business. Good luck to the family who owns it, hope you guys stay alive because we need small places like this in order for Montreal to stay unique.

Order from Ubereats today 2 spider rolls and dragon eye. The crab in spider roll is not fresh at all, its stink smells very strong and we have diarrhea after, the avocado is black and the rice tastes weird. First and last time, never order from Le Kioko again.

Indeed its not the season for avocados, in the sunmer its always the new crop so its normal some avocados are mush and a littke bit turned dark. Its not rotten! Beautiful restaurant and clean. Nice japanese restaurant in the heart of St. Henri.
One of the best, if not the best sushi restaurants that I have had the chance to taste. We placed a take-out order over the phone, although it was simple and took an hour to prepare (we were warned when placing the order). The wait was greatly rewarded by excellent, fresh and very tasty sushi, even the dragon eyes is worth the trip.

Second time I got food poisoning from this restaurant. Thought the first time was a fluke as it the restaurant had just opened, tried it again years later and huge mistake. Ordered 65$ worth of sushi Sunday night hoping it would be amazing as I ve heard great things and I was let down again and still haven t fully recovered .

Hands down one of the best places for sushi if you re a vegetarian or a vegan. They are very friendly and offer lots of fresh options for vegans here. I especially recommend the avocat rolls, they just taste so good and it s also very cheap. I always spend a lot there because I know it s going to be a good time when i m there.
Wonderful place to be at. Had dinner with my family there and the kids loved the food, me and my wife as well of course. The dishes always beautifully prepared and always accompanied by friendly staff. My families will be paying this shop a lot of visits.

My go-to place for great sushi! They recently changed their menus and added lots of delicious items. The specialties are must try and the service is always good.
We are immense sushi eaters and only have good words towards Kioko. Johnny and his team together make the resto part of the best quality sushi restaurants in Montreal. We always order for take-out and the quality of the sushi is fresh and remarkable, especially for the price. It is definitely our to-go place for take-out and highly recommend it!
Very slow service to prepare the order
Kioko is a solid sushi joint. Ive been there twice now and the fish is flawless despite being far from the ocean. Many menu items Im excited to try as this is my neighbourhood spot. staff are friendly and quick. atmosphere: 4 tables, low lighting. no wine, no bar. The restaurant appears to function more busily as a takeout place than a dine-in. Music is a little thoughtless, but unoffensive. (Maybe the staff like indie pop house remixes.) its an easy place to go and not be bothered.
This place is a hidden gem in Saint-Henri. I love their fresh sashimi and wholesome poke bowls. The price is definitely worthwhile for its quality and freshness!
A real joke...I took the trouble to call at 3:30 p.m. (their break time) to place an order to be picked up for 5:00 p.m. They called me 5 minutes before pick-up time to tell me they were out of sushi, but I had already arrived. What a lack of professionalism.

Order on Ubereats around 6 p.m., delivery scheduled for 8 p.m. When I look at the app around 8 p.m., I see that several delivery people go to the restaurant and then cancel. I call and the restaurant tells me that the order is still not ready (an order for 2 people I specify) and that it will take another 15m. Finally, almost at 9 p.m. the order was canceled. I have to contact the restaurant to be told they were overwhelmed and the order could not be made. No service possible in French. Disappointing experience.

Kioko is my go to for sushi in the neighbourhood and on the whole island. Definitely recommend the 33 pcs sushi platter and the sashimi plate. You will not be disappointed!

***Update for initial review: After posting my honest review (see below), I have been insulted multiple times by the owner of the place, have screenshots to prove** Very unreliable place. It is obvious that most of the 5 star reviews are fake, as was explained in one of the real reviews before! They get advantage that there is no other descent sushi place around, so they do what thy want..one day you wait two hours for your food. Another day they take your money and make you wait to find out that they are simply closed earlier that day, all of a sudden. The quality is just mediocre , but they act like they bring down the light to the neighborhood.

It is a beautiful place, The grafiti art on the wall is simply stunning! And I appreciated that someone working there mentionned who the artist was when I said it looked beautiful. The service was nice and efficient; the menu is varied and they have both Qr and Paper versions of it. The food was tasty/flavorful and the presentation was pretty! Buuuut the billing was a little off...

Im writing a review to remind myself NEVER to order from it again. None of the fish I ordered was fresh enough. At this level youd better off just buying sushi shop. The rice is too sticky for making sushis, and makis seaweed is soggy, it feels like if you make your own sushi at home. actually even I made better makis. The quality really doesnt match the price. Seriously where do you even get your scallops?! I can get fresher ones from the Atwater market fish store! Cant believe this get pass over 4 stars on Google map.

Lovely presentation, good variety of vegetarian options, and decent quality sushi. Came for lunch and the seating is open with a large window for light and view of the street. However, its a bit pricey compared to other sushi places, located about 20-30 mins walk away, in abundance. The interior is also quite pretty with an artistic vibe. The service was okay ... Felt a little like the staff were annoyed by our presence (we were the only ones there) but it was never overtly stated so maybe they were just busy with prep or take away orders.

I celebrated my birthday @restaurantlekyoko Le Kyoko and it was lovely! The place is not big, very welcoming and very considerate staff. The food is so fresh, delicious and well presented.
A small room overlooking Notre-Dame Street. The management seems very busy preparing orders for delivery, but the waitress was attentive and smiling. The combo ordered turned out to be delicious and the price reasonable ($18). So great for a sudden craving. Vegetarian options: Choice of salads or vegetarian sushi. Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance to the restaurant is at the same level as the sidewalk.

Définitivement notre restaurant de prédilection dans le quartier pour des sushis classiques, mais savoureux. Des belles combinaisons dingrédients. Autrefois, le restaurant était très compétitif dans ses prix. Maintenant, ils sont plus dans la moyenne des prix du marché, ce qui est correct aussi, mais cela fait quon y va un peu moins souvent.

Very underwhelming sushi. The rice is hardly seasoned. The wasabi is a weird turquoise colour (which honestly is a major turn off). I have a hard time recommding this to anyone in the future

Ive been ordering from Le Kioko since the beginning of the pandemic and have never had a less than delicious experience. Yesterday, I brought two of my friends to celebrate one of their birthdays at the resto in person and they definitely lived up to my expectations. The service was lovely and every staff member very hospitable and helpful; the fish was fresh and the presentation beautiful as always! Were already planning our next visit!
