Incredible sushi place. The fish itself is amazing. Authentic little place that have been there for a long time.

This is definitely a place where they try hard to be good. And that s kind of where it stops. Japanese food is a very specific kind of food and they are striving for economies and speed I think. And it suffers for those reasons. We went because it s close to our home and gave it a try. Sadly they d need to up their game before I d go back. I think they ve missed the experience part of the deal.

I ate there a few days ago, the food is very good and the prices are reasonable, but I have very bad memories of my visit. I dont think Ill go back! The waitress was nice but insistent, she kept asking me questions to see if everything was okay, and talked a lot, it didnt necessarily make me feel comfortable, I was interrupted many times while I was eating to answer him. But what shocked me was that when I wanted to pay, I tipped 8% simply because Im a student, and I very rarely go to restaurants. She stuck her head into the payment terminal and said IT S ALL !!?? , the tip is minimum 15% and now its much more!!! I tell him that Im a student and that I dont have any money, its just a hobby that I have... I keep a very bitter taste of my visit, and once again I wont go back. .

Amazing rice crunchy bowl w/ spicy salmon and crab they were closed at 10:04 pm and opened the door to make a pick up order and it was very good perfect rice and fresh salmon i loved it they earned a respect and a new client Thumbs up

Decent amount of food, especially the amount of salmon & vegetable in the salad. They offer student discount as well.

Little pricey for the food and combos since I prefer an AYCE but good food overall. Sushi had lots of rice and not much fish in rolls not sure why but waiter was very nice!

First time going here was expecting to sit down and eat, turns out they are still only doing pick up orders. sushi has a lot of crab stick for the price they charge they should reduce the amount of rolls they make with crab stick Also the red ginger is a no go for me personally. I will say it was all very fresh tasting. i will try again. Vegetarian options: this is a sushi restaurant they will always have an option for a vegetarian.

We adore Okanr sushi! We are so lucky to live around the corner from a sushi restaurant that serves fresh, high quality fish. Im perfectly happy with a simple maki roll, because the ingredients are so great. Kind, personal service. Its always a 5 star experience for us!!

This is some top notch sushi, you get very good value. The maki rolls were amazing, only weak spot was the nigiri, but honestly as a lunch menu I just care about the Maki. Would definitely recommend combo menu for two!

One of the best Sushi restaurants in Montreal. I have rarely had sashimi this fresh! Small family restaurant with around ten tables. Nice decoration. The service has simply been incredible. Although we were alone in the restaurant (Friday evening 9:30 p.m.), the sympathy and attention of the two ladies who served us demonstrates the positive attitude and values of this restaurant. The food was really excellent. Soup (Miso and wongton), a meal salad for my wife, and tray of rolls and sashimi for me. All EXCELLENT. It s definitely a guaranteed return!

Sushi was disappointing Got a lunch platter for 20.99$ It includes basically 2 maki rolls It had barely any flavour Wouldn t recommend

On ubereat it says the cream of the crop, I was really expecting something special, as its right next to my house I said to myself ok Ill move, so I took a Maki combo 14 pieces there was only breaded shrimp inside (vegetables too) really disappointed I only ate 1 piece.

Excellent choices on their menu including there Lunch combo with soup and salad. The restaurant is always very clean including the sitting area. I recommend this place

Les sushis étaient bons, globalement. Par contre, on nous a servis des nigiris qui nétaient pas les plus frais. Je doute que ce soit ce qui a de plus authentique comme restaurant; lendroit semble tenu par des Chinois plutôt que des Japonais. Néanmoins, service excellent, sympathique et aux petits oignons! Boisson au fruit de la passion excellente! Expérience positive somme toute.

In my opinion the best place in Montreal to have sushi. The sashimi is always fresh and the Maki rolls very fulfilling. Highly recommend this place....the staff are super friendly!

Got the 24 piece Maki combo delivered, no tuna or salmon included which is extremely disappointing, especially when salmon is prominently featured on the picture. Fried roll was very oily and wet. Quality of the rest was good though, recommended to not go for the chefs choice combos and youll probably enjoy the meal

The sashimi and sushi was extremely fresh and very tasty. We also ordered the seafood salad which was excellent. Service was very friendly.

I have been ordering my sushi here for over 15 years. They are always excellent. Attentive staff who offer personalized service. In my opinion, best value for money in the area.

Some of the best sushi in Griffentown! Sushi rice in naguri was really nicely flavoured and well balanced. Combos might seem small with 26 pieces for almost $50, but the pieces are huge (basically the size of 2.5 rolls combined)! Also this is one of the only sushi restaurants in Montreal that actually gives you good quality sauce, light and a little sweet, unlike the cheap super salty stuff).

Honestly I was very disappointed I dont think Ill go back. Dec 23, 2021 I have been going to this restaurant regularly since 2009. Forget the unlimited sushi. The quality is always there. Quality/price is reasonable. It offers a discount to students (10% with presentation of the card) and also delivers via Foodora. Friendly and fast service. Don t hesitate to ask questions or even request the boat for your Sashimi, nigiri and/or sushi. Fish always fresh and delicious.

They make you wait for long time

They gave us our shrimp tempura for free when the order was delayed, prices for 4-5 person combo were 20-30 dollars cheaper if you order through them instead of Uber eats. Everything was tasty

Avoid the small lemurs, they wont even feed a fly. On the other hand, the large makis are well garnished and the sushi has a perfectly honest slice of fish.

Very good value for money, especially with the ÉTS student discount. Large order prepared on time and without errors. Quality and generously sized sushi. Mention for the Dragon Eyes included in the large maki combo platters which is rarely the case in other restaurants.

I ve lived a block away from Okane for 3 years and I had never bothered to order from them in that time. After my experience with both their food and staff I will be back again soon. Also, order from them directly if you can!

Consistent quality. I always get the 38pc platter for two people. Has always tasted fresh and gets made quite fast. Have called and ordered multiple times 20-30 minutes before they close and its always ready by the time i get there.

Practical for people at ÉTS. We ordered for a group of 8 at lunchtime. The order was prepared on time, the customer service was courteous and the sushi was fresh. We all liked it. Start again!

Wanted try this place for a while. Good flavour, fast, but the Spicy Tuna was a big let down (left). For the price it was too high for such a small serving.

As in many places like that, if you order a bundle you end up with the cheap stuff: cucumber, avocado, crabstick/surimi, egg... Not much fresh fish in that 60$ platter. Also not possible to dine in during the afternoon even if its open

It was not worth giving one star a place stint a place stinked the people were the roots and the food give me instant food poisoning I will never order from them I dont think theres stuff is fresh because of the smell of the place

Great experience with a warm welcome from the hostess. She was very kind, patient and attentive to what we wanted to eat. I recommend the octopus!!! Whether in sushi, sashimi, nigiri or salad! Excellent value for money, especially for the quality of the ingredients. The restaurant is clean and we cant wait for the dining room to reopen so we can eat inside and relive this great experience. The food was definitely A1 but it was the service from the hostess that made the whole experience better! Thank you very much, there arent many people anymore who are as human as her!

m so surprised and disappointed they decide to cut the portion size of sashimi to Half of what it was . I paid 70 $ for all that and it s not worth it . I use to order sashimi for 100 $ and get satisfied. AVOID it now . Not worth the price , it s a shame

Ordered for takeout, good variety and great sushi.

No very smart staff, cant even hold a conversation with them since they are just so slow. Couldnt complet order correctly and obviously didnt want to do anything to correct it. I know its not easy to hire staff...but come on...at least someone who can hold a conversation!

Delivery: got the Rockland, Ninja, Sumo, Dragon Eye, Montreal, and Dynamite Maki and they were all perfect. Kamikaze sushi pizza was alright, and a very generous portion. Wonton soup was fine.

Delectable sushi and mouth-watering sashimi! Youd be fooled into thinking this was done in the heart of Japan, but really its from a restaurant called Okane. The two dozen maki rolls ordered came with a fresh salad that gave a smile to ones face. The big rolls as well as the small rolls were sublime. The sashimi was tender and flavourful. Add some ginger to the mix and you have quite an appetizing meal on your hands. They were very generous with the sauces as well and the service was extremely fast.

Would put 0 stars if I could. We ordered 100$ worth of Sushis, they delivered it without any sauces. I call them back to know if it is possible to get the missing sauces. They said they would deliver it to us. We waited all night and they never came. What a disrespectful way to treat your clients and their time.

So i ve been living close to this gem for 2 years and never went.. big mistake! I had the 14pcs maki, and it was sublime. Each ingredient tasted very fresh. I m definitely going back, believe me. Can t wait for the indoor seating to be back.

Good variety, good quality

First time ordering to home, usually I love to dine in there. Everything came fresh and delicious, same quality as dining in. Delivery was quick!! Prices are very fair for the quality you get, absolutely worth it.

very average. avocado not ripened. pretty disappointing

The only reason they get 2 stars instead of one was because it was somewhat edible. The avacado in the avo roll wasnt even ripe and that was the best piece of the mixture. The imitation crab taste as if it had been rolled in sardine oil. Ive had better gas station California rolls at 711. Save your money and eat somewhere else. My dog enjoyed a few of the deep fried rolls that even someone with a bad case of the munchies wouldnt touch.

Purchased $70 of sushi for delivery and was not provided ginger or wasabi. After reviewing the menu, it appears you are expected to pay an additonal $2 per roll to get these standard accoutrements. Premium prices for medium quality sushi with too much rice.

The food here was great! The kamikaze was so delicious. We ordered the 24 piece platter and it was the perfect amount of food for us (two girls) and our server was so lovely she was the one that suggested to us to drop down from the 36 piece to 24. She was knowledgeable on the menu and made good suggestions. Also they were great with modifications due to a shrimp allergy which is always lovey!
