Restaurant La Raclette in Montreal

Reservations are required. The dishes at the station are great but we go there for the dishes to share: pierrades (cooking your meat on a heated stone), cheese fondue with extras that you can add (mushrooms, shallots, bacon) or the raclette! The raclette bowls are great with a surprising fish and seafood raclette. The starters are tasty. You must bring your own wine. The desserts, on the other hand, do not live up to the rest of the cuisine. Yes the chocolate dome is nice but the Mont Blanc is not up to par. The heart should be meringue and the presentation is not beautiful. In the end, great atmosphere and we leave satisfied. The price is high but everything is quality. Special mention to the boss who is really nice! We always come back with pleasure! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian charcuterie for different dishes to share!

Wow, what a discovery! My new favorite restaurant to enjoy a hot and comforting meal. The ambiance, service and food are all top notch. The raclette is excellent. Lots of variety (vegetables, potatoes as much as you want). 3 types of meat, 2 cheeses (generous portion), pickles, pickled onions, bread. For the price, its so worth it. Plus it s bring your own wine. If you have room left after this feast, there is a selection of desserts. The chocolate and caramel dome is incredible. Place to absolutely try. Vegetarian options: Raclette with meat or vegetarian option

We were for Montreal at Table with an affordable quality menu. Very good cheese for raclette (Vacherin from Estrie, from Noyan and its Swiss!) Delicious vegetable soup with tasty ingredients. The Mont Blanc dessert is similar to the chestnut torch, too bad the meringue was missing. There is quantity! Pleasant welcome and very friendly staff.

As part of MTL at the table. I was shocked to see that 80% of the menu items were marked up by several dollars. The menu is $50 but if you dont want to add anything extra you only have a choice of entree, main course and dessert. I cant find it correct or honest. Especially since mtl à table offers the possibility of having menus at $65 or $85. It would be more honest and transparent to offer a more expensive menu without extras. The restaurant is called Raclette and even the raclette is extra :-( The dishes are very good. High quality cheese and cold meats. A negative note for the waiter who put pressure on us to tip, to look at how much we had put and allowed himself to make a derogatory comment. Just unacceptable, especially when the bill is close to $200 for 3 without wine.

Month of October, under a stove outside on the terrace. What happiness! Plate of meat on the hotplate with good extra scallops, absolute delight! It s also a BYOB! A1 service, good food, nice atmosphere. I recommend this place to everyone for a wonderful time as a couple or in a group!

Went to celebrate a relatives birthday and the service plus food were phenomenal. The pulled lamb appetizer was great and the Brussels sprout appetizer might be the best Brussels I have ever had. Split the La Pierrade all Beef which was incredible. Also tried the cod and elk steak which were very good too. Finally the Mont Blanc dessert and raspberry sorbet were refreshing ends to a delightful meal. Our waiters were prompt, polite and helpful. Overall 5/5 would do again

We just wandered into this place by accident while staying in the area. WOW! Food was ridiculously good and such a cute setting. It was also super reasonably priced for the quality. Would highly recommend the Brussels sprouts appetizer! Unlike anything I ve ever had. We ordered a second round after my kids devoured it. Other standouts were an excellent elk steak and the meat fondue. A.so, the MONT BLANC desert was to die for! Of note: it s BYO for alcohol.

My husband and I really wanted some fondue on our trip to Montréal. We found La Raclette and we are so happy we did! From the second we entered the restaurant, it seemed like all the staff genuinely enjoyed and cared about the restaurant and the customers. Everyone was so attentive and welcoming. We had the Brussels Sprouts for our appetizer and now I m wishing I could make the dish even half as delicious as the one at the restaurant. Of course, we had fondue for our main entree and for dessert the chocolate dome filled with fruits and ice cream. Everything was delicious and ended our last night in the city perfectly. Can t wait to visit again!

I am giving this restaurant 5 because as far as satisfying the cheese need for raclette this restaurant does it. BYOB is a nice touch. Service is top notch attentive and knowledgeable staff. You will be presented with a large amount of food and lots of cheese. You will leave full and satisfied. I will say the price is somewhat expensive but I say totally worth it as raclette is a delicacy and I don t think there are too many options for the cuisine in the city. So if you want a fun interactive experience with a very niche cuisine don t hesitate!

Magnificent experience at the beginning of March at La Raclette. Exceptional service - smiling, coordinated, efficient staff. There were 2 of us, and the hostess placed us at a pleasant little table at window level. We were comfortable, and we had a great time. (European-style raclette) The portions are generous and the price is reasonable for the quality of the food and service. The servers and clerks are exceptional. THANKS !

We had the cheese fondue for 4 people. Everything is served with a plate of charcuterie, vegetables and unlimited bread. The portion of fondue cheese is generous. The employees are very friendly and fast. You can find free parking (without a sticker) or pay for your parking at the terminal indicated by the restaurant and park anywhere. Dont forget your wine!

Very good evening thanks to the delicious and generously served food, we chose a raclette that came with a creamy vegetable garden! All the staff were very pleasant: attentive, professional while being discreet. A big thank you to our very friendly waitress (Marseillaise!) who made us want to come back!

Last night there were 12 of us for the 5:30 p.m. service. We knew we had to leave the table for the 8 p.m. service. However, the waiter came to tell us that we had to leave the restaurant for the next service. I didnt appreciate his insistence. My friends and I know what we have to do!

Fun menu! My date and I got La Pierrade viandes. So filling! Absolutely must visit. There s an SAQ not far for those who want to do the whole BYOB experience.

Very warm place, friendly staff and everything is delicious! VEGAN OPTION!!! You must notify in advance because vegan cheese is only available on request. The vegan mince made from beyond meat and lentils is very good. The gazpacho is also vegan and really good. My friends took the traditional raclette and everyone was delighted!

Youll find a cozy spot to indulge in some tasty raclette cheese. The atmosphere is super nice, the service is friendly and the cheese and meats are delicious. Its a really great pick if youre in the mood for something comforting and satisfying! Be aware the budget is a little high but extremely worth it for everything!

Functional nut not great setup for raclette, but adequate plate sizes. They do have weird cheeses that dont melt right though, so stick with the traditional raclette cheese.

Impeccable service and warm atmosphere. A range of starters for all tastes. The perfect raclette. The surprising choice of meats and varied and tasty vegetables. I still suggest giving the choice of thickness of the cheese, I prefer thinner. Dessert proposal that is enough for 2 people. In the end, we loved this outing! To start again!

We went there for Valentine s day as they had a special menu for that day. It was $85 pp. So we were expecting high quality food. We were wrong. The food was very disappointing. It was very oily. Our server did not bother to help us understand the menu. He was totally annoyed by our questions. When we told him we needed few more minutes to decide, he gave us a very descending smile. Most of the food had alcohol and it didn t mention it in the menu (i.e. Kirsch syrup, Le Dôme fondant au chocolat 72% ). The server failed to mention that to us. He was extremely nice to the people sitting next to us. He gave us a very dry service. When he asked me at the end what he can do to improve his service, I told him you should tell the clients if there s alcohol in the food , he simply nodded and left. He didn t appreciate that. He also gave us the bill while we were still eating!!!! His name is Philippe. We were on table #9, reservation was at 5:45pm. The food itself wasn t good for $230. The oceane raclette plate that my wife and I both got was moderate at best. A lot of cheese and potatoes, tiny shrimps, something we probably easily cooked at home for 10$. We won t be coming back. $230 went to absolute waste.

I recently celebrated our anniversary at La Raclette restaurant and I have to say it was an incredible experience! As soon as we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our charming waitress, Juliette. We opted for the famous raclette, and I must say it was a perfect choice. The heating stone allowed us to cook our pieces of meat to perfection, while enjoying the decadent melted raclette. Every bite was a real delight, and the smell of the hot cheese made us salivate in anticipation. The service from our waitress Juliette was simply exemplary. She was attentive to our every need and made sure our meal went smoothly. His knowledge of the dishes and his recommendation of wines to accompany our meal were much appreciated. When it comes to flavors, I only have one word to say: delicious! The meat was tender and flavorful, and the cheese was meltingly soft. The accompaniments, such as potatoes and pickles, were perfectly matched and added a touch of freshness to each bite. In summary, our experience at La Raclette restaurant was absolutely fantastic. We went to the restaurant for Valentines day, so it was a set menu. Everything was delicious and there was SO MUCH FOOD! The raclette cheese was the best part! I would go back just for the cheese itself! Service was great, we never ran out of water. My only wish was that we could have taken our chosen dessert home.

I went to dinner one Saturday evening at the La Raclette restaurant. I was a little disappointed with the quality of the service since, even though I was aware that the table was reserved for 2.5 hours, the waiter made us understand (as soon as we arrived (!) that our table was reserved for this period of time). Throughout the meal, I felt pressure from the waiter to eat quickly (starter removed before I finished eating it, ordering dessert even though we had not finished eating our fondue). Considering that this is a fondue and raclette restaurant and eating such dishes takes longer than regular dishes, I believe it would be appropriate if the tables were reserved for 3 hours. In short, I found it a shame the waiters lack of sensitivity, since apart from that, I have nothing to complain about the restaurant. The food was delicious and the BYOB option is great! However, the service really disappointed me and unless the table reservation time is adjusted upwards, I dont think I will return to this restaurant.

This place was amazing! I was visiting for vacation in Montreal and found this place pretty well recommended online, so I decided to try it out. The portions were generous. The staff (especially Mario) were really helpful and accommodating (especially to English only speaking Americans). We got the classic fondue and it was awesome. The give you a run-down of what to expect and what everything includes. Its BYOB so it wont break the bank. Perfect date night on a chilly night!

One of the best restaurants in town! Excellent service, with a beautiful ambience, and magnificent food. A must try for visitors, or locals who have never been. You bring your own wine, and they have a lovely terasse in a very nice neighborhood.

Very nice experience! The food (pierrades all beef and land and sea) was great. Marios service was great. He made sure our happiness was at its peak. The restaurant is usually quite noisy, but thats just a sign that the diners are having fun and being happy.

I dined at La Raclette with several friends in Sept 2023. We had the salmon confit, fried eggplant with creamed burrata, la raclette for 2, and rib eye steak, not including the desserts! Everything was delicious, cooked perfectly, and presented well. The owners are lovely, great ambiance, and tucked away in a quaint neighborhood. This was one of the most memorable meals our group had. Highly recommend!

$44 per person excluding taxes and tips is a steal! We took the fondue and the raclette.. 1) fondue without any taste and no egg at the end to finish 2) the raclette 7 pieces per person which donuts in the fat (when melted) which shows the poor quality of the product ! With charcuterie without any flavor and in small quantities... at this price we expect excellence and quantity! Then lets talk about the difference between the tips suggested by the receipt and the reality on the machine.. we go from 15% to more than 20% minimum because they take taxes into consideration which is an aberration! Then the waiters who come to serve you water every 3 minutes... to sometimes fill 1 drop in your glass, stop! Leave us alone... to finish, very noisy place... I dont recommend it at all and I dont see why this restaurant is popular! Addition for 4 is around $300 Ashamed and very disappointed!

Went with a group of 4 for MTL à Table. Food was delicious, service was a bit slow. When bringing in the desserts, one of us seemed to have been forgotten until another waiter came by to check. The brussel sprouts were savory, the squash potage was tasty, the quail was very juicy, and a friend claimed it served the best raspberry sorbet hes ever had in his life. Were likely to return for special occasions!

It was really a great experience! The subdued setting is very warm, the staff very welcoming, attentive and attentive! Firstly, the excellent cuisine! Incredible fondue, excellent cheeses! It was a treat. Woody and relaxed evening until payment time and the waiter asked us to add a tip (even though we had left some!!!!). I admit that we found it cheeky. That doesnt mean we wont come back, but I didnt agree with the procedure!

Unfortunately disappointing. First of all, it was cacophonous like Ive never experienced, we couldnt talk in peace, it was SCREAMING in there and we were crowded together. Decent food, unfortunately poor quality of bread. Service ok too but the waiter was a bit arrogant explaining the service specials as if we were stupid. In short, we wanted to try it but we wont go back.

The service was okay and the interior is nice, but the only good food is the sliced cheese. Everything else isn t seasoned and it s all microwaved. They have 3 microwaves out front and you can see them just microwaving the veggies and potatoes. The potatoes didn t even have salt. The salad was wilted like it was made in the morning. The vegetables were very similar to the frozen bagged veggies you d get at the grocery store, and the spicy salami looked very similar to the Costco stuff Shocked at the price. Do yourself a favour and buy some cheese, melt it, and steam and season some veggies yourself. It ll be much better. Two stars for the decent service and the interior. Dietary restrictions: I had gluten free bread but it was microwaved and soggy.

I just don t understand why I was put in a table that was somewhat in the corner closed to dishwasher? but the staff changed my table when I asked so I guess that s fine. Overall good experience. A hidden restaurant since its located in a residential area. Its a cute restaurant with a good ambiance. You could get a reservation but we went a Saturday night at 19:00 and there were still empty places when we left around 21:00. You can bring your own wine. For the menu you have to get a two or three services. We got the one with two services which includes a gaspacho or the soup of the day and a main of your choosing. The gaspacho, a cold soup, tasted like tomatoes and capsicum. Its good but not for everyone. The soup of the day was ginger, carrot and green beans. I enjoyed this one more. Then I got the cheese fondue which I shared with my mom (its for 2 persons). The fondue came with a dish containing 4 kinds of charcuterie, potatoes, a few veggies and a salad. It was my first time trying it. I was surprised by the taste of the cheese. It was pungent and yet addictive. This is for cheese lovers! But its very heavy and filling especially with the unlimited bread that comes with it. I also wished there were pickles on the plate and not just a salad. It would have helped a lot. We also got the Osso busco and boar chop. I wasnt expecting to taste the Chinese five spice in the sauce of the boar dish and the meat had an interesting texture. The osso busco wasnt completely traditional either and it came with gniocci that were a bit too firm. They were generous portions but not the most traditional and delicious. Overall, it was a new and interesting experience. The service and ambiance were great!

Surprising for a neighborhood restaurant. For my first visit, but probably my last, we took the Pierrade of meats to share for 2 people In the 2-course formula, the soup was hot but had a slight sour taste. We ate it but didnt really like either one. As for the main course we received a plate with 4 pieces of cheese to melt, 4 crushed baby bells, 3 ridiculous baby miniature pickles, one (1) small piece of red pepper, one (1) floret of broccoli, a (1) cauliflower floret and a small handful of greens. As for the meat we had 3 small pieces of: sausage, chicken, beef, pork - per person. All for $110.00 tax in + service. It was good, not to die for, but much too expensive for the portions received. Before writing this comment I read those already online and everyone who had this dish is unanimous and shares my opinion. In summary, without being unlimited we could easily have (at least) an additional service of meat for this price because the taste is good but there is not enough either for the price or to be satisfied. Only for this reason I wont go back and its a shame because the rest of the menu would have been worth trying.

I dont understand the success of this place. Very basic raclette, ordinary cheese (President Brie) and supermarket cold meats, all overpriced and in very small quantities. Salad cooked in an acidic sauce...felt like I was eating leftovers from previous customers. Barely polite service. In short, very disappointed.

Great full dining experience, great service, they speak several languages. You have to bring your own wine or other alcoholic beverage and they will serve it for you

Absolutely wonderful dinner at La Raclette. Fondue for 2 with gaspacho to start was all we needed, and we could barely finish it! Excellent, friendly service. BYOW, but server still put our bottle on ice for us which was a lovely touch. Would definitely visit again (on an empty stomach).

Beautiful little warm and welcoming restaurant, the 3 courses were delicious and our server Mario was a sweetheart... attentive, efficient and funny. The prices are also very resonable. For 2 people 3 courses $170. Wonderful evening.

I must admit this was such an amazing new fun dining experience. We ordered a shared La Pierrade all Beef plate which included Prime quality sliced rib eye, cubed filet-mignon and cheese of the day for two that we cooked at our table on a hot stone grill and cheese melter. The meat was high quality and I m really excited to go back soon!

We can t wait to visit again. Bring your own wine and they will help you open, bring glasses and ice. It is a romantic place that the entire family can enjoy. We brought our 2 year old and he had so much fun too. He loves cheese so La Raclette was a perfect place for us. Merci!!! We had a wonderful evening for my boyfriends birthday. The service is top notch, nothing to say. The team is very friendly, takes great care of the customer. As for meals; the squash soup and gazpacho were delicious! We subsequently ordered a fondue, being Swiss, we were a little disappointed. The taste of the house was not really there, the fondue was less to our taste, a bit liquid. However, the evening was superb and the servers were excellent!! Thank you for the attention to the dessert as well as the candle, it really touched us. We will come back to try the raclette immediately! I really liked it, the food was really fresh and succulent, very plentiful, the dining room is maximized so the noise is very present and the tables a little too close but overall I highly recommend it!

Very bad experience, we went to this restaurant out of nostalgia to taste a real European raclette as their website advertises. Once served, we are told about the cheeses to melt on our plate: (at $42!!) Vacherin, Gouda and Reblochon which we are told is THE traditional raclette cheese. Reblochon is a Savoie farm cheese that is eaten as a tartiflette and not as a raclette, Gouda is from the Low Countries and Vacherin is a Swiss fondue cheese. In addition, the vegetables served were simply blanched in water, flavorless and mostly raw. We were treated to exactly 4 small new potatoes each for a dish typically composed of raclette and potatoes. The bread looked and tasted like a frozen baguette, even worse than the metro baguettes. We returned dirty and very disappointed. With all the excellent cheesemakers and bakers in the neighborhood, its sad to see that there are still places that take advantage of consumers by skimping on the products that make up their plates and denigrate their accompaniments. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are sad, very expensive, poorly cooked and tasteless. Don t trust your appetite!

Bad experience. It s anything but raclette! To flee! Slow service, big disappointment.

Okay, a little honesty in the reviews. I have rarely been so disappointed. There were 3 of us and we had raclette from the fondue. The least worst first: The raclette is correct, nothing more, except that it will be served with broccoli, cauliflower and a little cheese. The fondue is horrible, it smells very strongly of wine and the cheese doesnt melt. Clearly we are dealing with poor quality wine and unsuitable cheese. I cannot recommend this expensive and not good restaurant.

By far, my favorite restaurant. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. The food is simply quality and you can never go wrong going there! If you go there, don t hesitate to have the dome for dessert! Still amazing!

Fantastic food and service. A bit loud for after 6pm on Saturday as it was full. Nice to see so much staff, that we never lacked any assistance. The menu had beautiful selection of classics of impeccable quality or a bit of a twist on traditional with equal precision and fun. Not the cheapest, but worth every penny to its fullest! Very highly recommend!

The food and service were excellent (thanks Nicolas for the very good service!). Only negative point, the restaurant was very noisy, we had difficulty chatting. Also, we found it a bit of a shame that the vegetarian raclette was the same price as the one with cold meats.

Its good, but the combination of fondue cheese and cold meats is very salty.
