Originally from the region of Isan in Thailand, Chef Pamika traveled the globe to see her dream bloom and to guarantee the authenticity of her creations. With the name of our executive chef and owner's mom, Mae Sri promises dishes reflecting taste, authenticity and traditions, to offer you the best Thai experience in the heart of Montreal.
The soup warms your body and tastes great. The only thing missing to enjoy it more is a soup spoon. Using a regular spoon for soups isn't an enjoyable experience. The rice was soft and perfectly cooked. The chicken was also soft and succulent. Cutting it with the spoon was really easy.
Extremely disappointed by this VERY bland tasting Thai spot. Pad Thai was extremely dry, not enough sauce and bland. Braised beef noodle soup had no flavour, broth literally tastes like warm water. Service was mediocre. You order at the counter then you’re on your own. No one checks up on you unless you waive them down.
I'm always very skeptical trying Thai food in North America due to it being inauthentic to the real deal. . I ordered chicken rice and my friend ordered chicken noodle soup and we got two drinks. I've had much experience of Southeast Asian food and as soon as I walked into the restaurant as I smelt the aroma inside the restaurant, it was very nostalgic and it was very authentic. I could tell immediately that the food probably is very close to being as authentic as and good as it can be. The chicken rice was really good and the soup was amazing. My friend's chicken noodle soup was also very authentic. It was very comforting to have food like this in the winter. I really regret not trying that tom yum soup I will try it when I return. The reason why I'm giving four stars . the major downside to this are the drinks are absolutely horrendous and taste horrible. The drinks itself are traditional drinks that you would find in Thailand or Southeast Asia but I don't know what sugar they use because it tastes very very artificial. The artificial sweeteners or whatever they use completely make the drink inedible and disgusting. Me and my friend did not even finish half of the drink and we just left it. We will return to the shop in the future.
Mae Sri Comptoir Thai is an authentic gem near downtown Montreal. The food is simply amazing, capturing the true essence of Thai cuisine. Each dish bursts with authentic flavors, and the pricing is very reasonable. However, during our visit, the air conditioning wasn't working properly, making it uncomfortably hot inside. Despite this, the quality of the food makes it worth a visit. Highly recommend for a genuine Thai dining experience!
The pad see ew was really good. The texture of the noodles were the highlight, retaining a bit of chew compared to a lot of other pad see ew place. The pad kra pow was also really good, but the heat was missing. I don't think they used thai chilies so it was slightly disappointing. The Thai milk tea and the Thai lemon tea were both delicious.
Ok, this place is really nice. The terrace is pretty and you can chill. You have to pay before you get the food. I got a pad Thai with shrimp. The pad Thai was really good; the taste was perfect, fitting with traditional Thai food. The portion was good too. I would like to try the new plates they have available. I will go back for sure. I paid 25 dollars for that with taxes and tips of 15%, so I think it is a really good price. I didn't like the inside chair because it didn't have a backrest, but when I was outside at night, they brought me a light. It was so nice.
The food was overall really good. The steamed Hainan chicken and rice was excellent. We enjoyed the sticky rice dessert as well. Papaya salad was average, but the soups were interesting. The staff were really friendly and attentive. Had i been able to, would give the restaurant 4.5/5. One thing that brings it down is having to order up front and pay first. I get it, utilitarian, but it seems like a nice restaurant, so having to do a food court/canteen style seems off. However, they do bring the food.
We loved it here so much. Very tasty meals. I’m not sure if it’s authentic but the taste is pretty much as in Asia 👍👍👍 My order was amaaaaazing!!! Thai iced milk tea is definitely a must too!
Everything looked good and the waitress was friendly but there was a strong smell of cat litter in the place. We left before ordering.
Way too bland to be original Thai food
very good but service a little slow
Cool place, cooler people. Pick a table and then you can scan a QR code for a digital menu, or grab a menu from the front. Once you have decided, head to the register, place your order, and take a number. Quick and easy and excellent food.
I order with Uber Eat, I have been waiting for my order for a very long time and in the end your restaurant is closed.
Rania great service! The food is excellent! I highly recommend.
the chicken pad Thai is excellent especially when adding micro sprouts from a farm in Montreal
Very good service from Rania. Quick and delicious assisted
The noodles were tasty. They served very kindly and friendly. Food
Following several complaints from Quebecers who are sensitive to spicy foods, they decided to lower the level of spiciness in all their dishes. This brings down the authenticity of their cuisine a little. But that said, now that we know, we can customize the spiciness level, just by asking. Their fried chicken salad is absolutely fantastic!
Third time in a row that they send soup boiling hot in cheap packaging , which melts the lid and spills all over the order. This is a serious health hazard and overall ruins the order, if this restaurant doesn t fix the situation , sanitary inspectors should really pay a visit.
26 october 6:30PM : More than 1 hour to be served on a saturday. Dont go. Edit: they told me kitchen received my order as a take away by mistake?? If owner contact me and offer a free meal i would be glad to give you a second chance.
Here s a review for Mae Sri Comptoir Thai: Mae Sri Comptoir Thai in Montreal has a charming, intimate ambiance, but our recent visit had a rough start. Arriving around noon, about 30 minutes after opening, we were met with an unpleasant sewage-like odor in the restaurant that lingered throughout our meal, unfortunately detracting from the overall atmosphere. The QR code for the menu wasn t working, though the server quickly offered to airdrop it, which was a nice, tech-savvy workaround. Our food arrived promptly, and prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. The Pad See Ew noodles were served a bit more al dente than we prefer. The dry noodle dishes had a flavor profile that leaned milder than traditional - not as savoury as they traditionally are. The papaya salad could have used a little more zest as well, but the Thai iced tea was refreshing and enjoyable. Overall, Mae Sri Comptoir Thai is decent, with fair pricing and good service, but it may not be our top pick for Thai food in Montreal.
Excellent and affordable cuisine, modern decor.
Great authenticity. The todmun hai is on point. Except the broth stock should be consistent with chicken not beef. The beef stock didn t pair as well with the gai. We had street noodle quiew tiew dry moo was excellent included with fixing that you d discover with Thai street food. And last dish was the crispy pork. Good as well. The atmosphere was cramped and busy. Not my preference. But the food flavors made it worth it. Overall great service and well attentive and friendly.
Very good food and very good ambience in general.
At the top, even when you ask for not too spicy it remains very spicy.
I went to Maé Sri to pick up some food for my birthday dinner, and it was a fantastic experience! The order was for a very large group, so I was pleasantly surprised that everything was ready on time and absolutely delicious. I usually dine in because I love the cozy atmosphere, but it was great to see that their takeout is just as good as dining in! Everyone loved it!! My go-to dish is the Thai fried chicken with soup it s amazing! I d also highly recommend the green curry. And don t skip the milk green tea, it s a must! ;) Maé Sri is our favorite spot with my roommates, especially since we live nearby. Definitely a must-try if you re in the area!!!!
Very nice and delicious, I recommend!
My go to place!!! All of their options are absolutely delicious and the service is great!! Highly recommend
Favorite place for a cozy meal, food is delectable and never gets old. Big up to the waitress Sasha for her radiant energy, I ve never been so enthusiastic about tipping before
Sasha saved my entire family from a burning building. I ve never been so enthusiastic about tipping before
Have been ordering out from here for several years. I love the chicken green curry dish but the last couple of times I ordered the chicken has been very hard to find even tho the price remains relatively stable. I don t think 6 bites of chicken can be sold as a chicken curry. I have been very disappointed.
Super tasty Thai food, very authentic, good price-performance ratio, very friendly service. Not suitable for sitting comfortably together as there are only wooden tables and stools. Which, on the other hand, is also a bit reminiscent of the famous Thai food stalls. Was here twice during my stay in town and both were very good.
Food
Soup is amazing
Inconsistent food quality is the biggest letdown here. Some days, the dishes are tasty and great value, representing a very accessible Thai food experience. Other days, the portioning is stingy and the food is mediocre, with heavy MSG flavors more noticeable than the ingredients themselves. As a specific example, on a good day (30% of the time), the Hainan steamed chicken rice is a spectacular dish, where the rice is aromatic with chicken oils and herbs, and the chicken is juicy but not fatty. On a bad day, the chicken is flavorless and rubbery, the rice tastes bland with too much herb and too little chicken oils, and the dish leaves much to be desired. I am a regular, and unfortunately it seems the consistency is worsening. Back in the day (3-5 years ago), I would have given 5 stars.
Great food with good flavour. The beef stew noodle soup reminds me of some Chinese beef stew I had when I was younger. Price is reasonable. Would go again.
Delicious, fresh, flavourful
Wow! One of the best soup Ive ever had!! Food
I love this place! The food is great and the staff are always super nice and attentive, the only thing I would say is that at times it can get very cramped in here!
I ordered the Pad Thai, and the taste fits perfectly to what Im looking for. It was sweet, savory, and peanuty. A well-balanced dish was presented appealingly. The ambiance of the place was pleasant and relaxing. The service was very accommodating, the staff were very nice; asking us if everything is good from time to time.
Really good Thai food! the restaurant is cozy and inviting, you order at the counter and they are pretty quick. The menu does come with pictures now and it has a good selection to pick from, the portions are enough for one person and get an appetizer to share. A favourite of mine nearby!
I was hoping to get some mango sticky rice but it was out of season. Otherwise I think it s a fair meal to grab food with friends.
Cozy little room with beautiful mood lighting. Attentive service. The food is outstanding, incredible depth of flavour, perfectly sized portions. Interesting presentation; the meats in most rice dishes are chopped, which allows balance when eating all elements on the plate. One of my favourite restaurants anywhere.
Amazing restaurant. Great food.
My Thai boyfriend said it is really authentic as it reminded him of his childhood. The spices and flavors were spot on. Everything was delicious and staff were friendly. Definitely recommend this hidden gem! We ordered the Kao Man Kai Tod (Thai Hainan Fried Chicken) and the Kuai Tiao Tom Yum.
Food was good however the portions were small. Prepaying and having to tip before you get your food is upsetting
We were very disappointed with this Thai restaurant. Thai cuisine is our favorite, we eat every week in Thai restaurants in Montreal and this is the first time we have been so disappointed. The pad thai was ok but not transcendent. The mango sticky rice was inedible. At $11, we only ate the mango and barely tasted the rice which was hard as concrete and sticky. Several problems in the service throughout the evening. I wont come back!
Must try Thai place in Montreal.
I ordered food for delivery. It was soooo good!! I had the pad see eew and veggies rolls. The flavors were great and portion was good. Everything was still hit and crispy after delivery! I will order again when visiting Montréal.
The Thai iced tea is delicious and authentic! I ve been to Thailand and I drank a lot of Thai iced tea there, so I can confidently say that the Thai iced tea here is awesome.
I m waiting for 30 minutes for take out - I feel sad but when i got my food and taste it! Weeewww it s yummy - thank you anyway - 5 star for all aspect I don t mind waiting
Pad thai delivery. Good but not wow and we would have taken a little more in the lightly filled compostable bowl....
Food was excellent, full of flavor and fresh! Service was welcoming and quick. Atmosphere was ok. Flies were flying around the whole resto. Resto was kind of tight and dim. Other than that, definitely worth it!
Fast service, but you have to pay before being served, which I found strange. I liked my veggie Pad Thai, but the Bean Sprouts were dry and were too present on the plate. The tofu was very good, I would have put more on the plate;
Food was delicious but I found some portions a bit too small (Pad See Ew and Papaya Salad for instance). The getting up ordering/paying system is a bit annoying for large groups but the food taste compensates.
All the foods that I ordered are tasty. The restaurant looks good but no parking.
The service is too slow. I waited 30 minutes to receive my tom yum, and there were no other tables waiting for food. Unfortunately, the tom yum wasnt good either.
There s no many customers at that time, they re basically just serving our table, but we still waited about 50mins to get our food. And the food came cold , I really don t understand what they were doing. Food taste just okay, but it s cold so . Only the meatballs deserve a try.
Good food. However seating was a bit uncomfortable.
I took the Baa Mee soup and I liked it a lot, friendly staff and generous portion !
Excellent dishes and fast service! I recommend.
Yummy food. I had a beef noodle dish and Thai Iced Tea. Interestingly, you wait to be seated, sit, look at the menu and stand up and order and pay at the counter and then bring a number back to your table. Food : 5/5
Can t stop thinking about the beef noodle soup. My husband and I loved it. They didn t have high chairs for my toddler and the restaurant is small but the food made up for it. Will definitely come back!
perfect taste, I will give this meal a five-star
Fckn amzng, nothing to add. :)
Good food, great service!
Amazing Thai cuisine .
The tom yum soup here was perfectly balanced and flavorful. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
Best thai counter in Mtl!
The food was good, had the pad Thai, the service was slow. Not bad but not my favorite, will go again to try the pad kraw pow that seemed to be their specialty should have gotten that.
Love the street food concept, very good
Very good chicken and shrimp pad thai. The rolls and papaya salad are also good. We sat on the terrace to eat but unfortunately there were people screaming and chasing each other in the street. It didnt seem very safe. Inside it was very good. You must order at the counter and pay before eating.
I would have given 5 for the food, but the seafood starter is a bit disappointing. The meatballs and my main course were delicious, however. I will return there for sure.
The staff were pleasant and we were made to feel welcome. We didnt find the soup exceptional but we must admit that it was well stocked! However, although it is not the speciality of the place, it is quite ordinary to pay for a pad thai with so little meat at this price
wayy too overpriced for such small portions. ordered chicken pad thai, very bland hard chicken pieces, and overall very dry pad thai. they didn t even have hot sauce at this place, they provided chilli flakes instead would not recommend. RESPONSE TO OWNER: firstly, you re extremely unprofessional with your response. the other reviewer was my sister (not me) who also had ordered pad thai from your restaurant and felt the same way about it. in fact we had a third friend who ordered it too but didn t initially post a review but decided to after seeing your nasty responses. secondly, of course we were going to eat the food we PAID for. your restaurant had closed for the day, we had no choice. $18(including tax) is expensive for THIS portion. we eat authentic thai food all the time from different restaurants in toronto, never have we received such dry, bland and small portions of pad thai. either increase your portion or lower the price and maybe season the chicken some more. as a matter of fact, while you re at it, get rid of the attitude too
Absolutely awful standard for Thai food. Bland flavorless food with small portion sizes and no spice. Very good drinks however
We really liked it a year ago but we went back and there was a big drop in quality, especially meat (pork and chicken) and a big increase in prices...
Expensive
its have been many time since I came here And Im thai a people I can tell you guys if you want the real thai taste in Montreal you guys should come here food its was super good
The food was really good. We tried their Pad Thai with chicken & prawns, Thai Milk tea, Hainan fried chicken with rice and their chicken balls appetizer. Would definitely recommend !
Best Thai Ive had in a long time. Staff were wonderful and accommodating for an allergy. Could not recommend this place more.
I ordered holy basil fried rice on Uber yesterday and it was so delicious. Today I tried chicken pad thai and green milk tea again. It was so delicious!
Delicious. Cant wait to try the whole menu
It drives me crazy when people think ethnic food - mostly Asian - should be cheap and plentiful. This place is reasonably priced given today s inflated market for food but given the skill, care and quality that one experiences when dining here - it s a bargain. I had watched a movie about a Thai restaurant and had an insatiable craving for Thai noodles. Or a trip to Thailand. The next day I did a search of places to go and Mae Sri popped up. It was one of our daughter s favourite restaurants as a student when she lived in Montreal and she had taken us there years ago. So I went to their new location. I had the Pad See Ew with beef - not chicken - as the server said it was his favourite. I had originally thought I d eat half and take the rest for left overs the next night but what came out was one perfect portion for one person. Which was good. Because I wouldn t have shared even if it were more. The guy lan was perfect. Noodles. Outstanding. And the beef was tremendous. All came together in a plate of Thai street food at Canadian prices for a meal. The menu is quite a bit more expansive so I will go back. But the food still lingers in my mind. Which makes it a heck of a bargain.
Food taste ok. Not the beat but not bad, what s weird is that u have to pay tip first before receiving the service. Staffs are helpful tho
I was recommended this restaurant last week by a friend of mine and i understand why it was recommended! The vibe of the place is super relax and cozy! I took the baa mee moo soup, which i m glad i took because it s one of the best soups i ve had in a while downtown. The service was great, the servers and manager were super nice and they re the ones who recommended the soup! I recommend anyone who doesn t know what to eat to go and try it out !
We ordered this through Uber Eats. The Pad Thai and Pad Seow was okay, noodles were alright but there was hardly any in the order. The Green curry with chicken was not edible. It was like an oily watered down soup with hardly any flavor and dumpster quality chicken. Id avoid this place.
Very pleasant little restaurant! A very warm welcome from all the employees, the 3 with whom we dealt, very kind and smiling, explained the menu and the tolerances of the dish well. The food was good, tom yum soup very rich in taste and ingredients, mixed meat starter very tasty too! To retest and also see their other locations in a different style
The vibe in that place was super chill and lowkey. Loved the touch they made with the cups they served our thai tea with! The appetizers are alright, but the main star of the show were the soups! The servers would recommend you trying their soups, and you should listen to them! We took 3 different soups. They are so generous with the meat and the noodles, and the broth is very rich in flavor!
It s very sweet food, even the pad thai was sweetened felt like it had some sweet syrup in it. not the original thai style. if u have the strong palate for real taste then this is not the place for thai you would like.
One of the worst pad Thai s I ve ever had! Portion was extremely small and the chicken was soo dry. Would not order again RESPONSE TO OWNER: I had about 3-4 bites before this photo was taken, that just shows just how small the portion really was! That s pathetic. Your response shows how unprofessional you are, instead of taking accountability and striving to do better, you respond with a petty reply, please everyone do yourself a favour and avoid this place! There are much better AUTHENTIC Thai places in Montreal as well as Toronto!
I visited Montreal over the weekend and stumbled upon this Thai place. Unfortunately the portions were incredibly small, the food was super dry and all in all was the worst Thai food I ve ever eaten. If visiting Montreal, there are better Thai eats.
Amazing Thai food. Love the seafood TomYum, make me feels like home.
Chill atmosphere, decent food and kind staff however they did not attempt to accommodate my family members allergy which was saddening as they could not eat at all.
I come here very often, but this time is the worst one I have ever experienced. The food is amazing like ever and the atmosphere is nice however I dont know what happened to the server, she didnt even give me a smile and her attitude was so a bit angry when I made my order. Hopefully l, she gets better next time I pass by.
Very good little restaurant in the Milton ghetto! No reservations available and few tables. Impeccable service!
We went today because it s not far from home, what can I say, the food is delicious, but in my opinion, it was very salty and greasy, we took chicken and beef soup. But the rolls are very tasty, vegan really the staff is friendly, but you have to pay before you eat. Respectively. You dont know how much to tip because you dont know what the service will be like. The atmosphere is just normal, average.
Recommend the fried pork! Good dish. But the color of the dessert is really weird
We come to this place very often but compared with the past: the portion of the food is way smaller and the price is way higher. The AC doesn t work! So upset
Great food, great staff, ac wasnt working :(
My Thai friend brought us to this Thai restaurant. The Seafood Tom Yum Noodle Soup is quite good. We all like Thai food, and one of us went to eat it again the next day.
I was really looking forward to the food here but unfortunately I wasnt satisfied with my experience. I started my meal with the vegé fried rolls which were decent but the sweet sauce (honey based) it came with stood out more than the actual rolls. For the mains, I got the vegan pad thai and the vegan pad see ew and both were overly sweet and had no spiciness to them. It just didnt taste authentic to me, it felt more like a North American take on Thai food. I was also surprised by the small portions, and the amount of tofu I got (I counted 6 small pieces in total for the pad see ew). I ended off the meal with two desserts; Mango sticky rice and tapioca pudding. The mangos from the sticky rice dish were bland and the sticky rice itself wasnt fresh, it felt like it was sitting out for long. However I really enjoyed the tapioca pudding, the pandan and the coconut cream were delicious. I think theres room for improvement so I hope for the best. Take care
Terrible Service and Rude Manager: Avoid This Place! I m not one to write negative reviews but my experience was incredibly disappointing. Upon arrival and while waiting for a seat )25 minutes we were told), we were rudely told to move from the chairs on the side, even though we were not obstructing anyone or anything. The managers demeanor was shockingly hostile and aggressive, especially when we mentioned that one of our party was in pain due to inflammation. Instead of showing any empathy, he further exacerbated the situation with his callous attitude. The overall service was extremely substandard, and the managers behavior was unacceptable. I would strongly advise against dining at this establishment if you value basic courtesy and respect from the staff. Save yourself the frustration and choose a restaurant where youre treated with decency and consideration.
Wheelchair accessibility: Large step at entrance, not accessible unless your chair can be lifted up. Food
The best Thai restaurant in Montreal. Ideal for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The service is top notch. Green curry, fried chicken salad and baa mee moo soup are my must-haves!! I highly recommend them :)))
Clara is the best waitress ever
Really disappointed with the food. We had the rolls which were served with a sauce that looked like fructose. So strange. The rolls were the only one of the dishes we ordered that we liked (despite the sauce). Tom Yum soup is just spicy for the sake of being spicy. No subtlety of taste. Thai food is on the balance of sweet/bitter/sweet/salty/spicy. In this case, there was none of that. The seafood was so boiled that it was rubbery, bland and soulless. We also ordered the Sukhothai (rice noodle, roasted red pork, ground pork, pork meatballs, coriander, onion, fried garlic, hard-boiled egg, bean sprouts, green beans). Everything about this dish was bland, flavorless. The texture of the pork was so tough that it wasnt tasty at all. Two or three tiny corriander leaves. The meatballs were tasteless. It looked like they had taken a single long bean and cut it into small pieces that we had to search for. The rice noodles were overcooked. I barely touched the dish and took it to go to give to a homeless person and I was almost embarrassed to give them this dish which was so disappointing on every level. One of the worst plastics Ive eaten in a loooong time. I give 2 stars because the service and atmosphere are friendly, but I will never go back there again, thats clear. Life is too short and Thai food is too fabulous to inflict this torture on yourself again.
Mae Sri is the place to be! A staple restaurant for me and one that i go back to often!! The food is delicious with an extensive menu. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the service/staff are excellent:)) go check it out!
Mae Sri is the first restaurant Ive ever been to in Montreal and when I come back it always satisfies my expectations. The restaurant has such a warm and relaxed atmosphere to it, you almost feel at home. Also, the staff is extremely caring and makes you feel so welcomed. Ive ordered several things from the menu and let me tell you that you cannot go wrong with the chicken pad thai and the green curry! The flavors blend together so well. In the Pad Thai, there is the perfect balance of sweet/salty perfectly matched with the peanut butter. And the curry is perfectly spiced (if you like it spicy like I do, dont hesitate to ask for more chili). Overall i recommend this restaurant 110% if youre craving Thai food. You will not be disappointed :)
Great little place to get Thai food. You order and pay at the counter beforehand and they then bring the food to you at your table. Perfect portions that are not too big or small.
Great thai food! Love their soup variety
Excellent and authentic Thai food, very friendly staff. Thank you!
An excellent Thai canteen! In my top 10. Im going back as soon as possible
Great service and everything was fresh and good quality
Great vegan pad Thai but very small tofu portion. Also has served me vegetarian instead of vegan pad Thai twice now. I do hope these suggestions are taken into account because I honestly really enjoy coming to this place.
Top notch food, will visit soon
I went to dinner here with my husband, it was our first time, we discovered a variety of super good food! Excellent service, fast and efficient. Thank you to the whole team for this great experience. We will come back very soon!
First experience at this restaurant The food is excellent and the service was just wow See you soon
Excellent place to find good Thai food!
Excellent Service by Garen! Much appreciated
Restaurant ok. The dishes are good but small portions. The service is fast but not warm. You must pay before receiving the meal
The food is very good but you have to pay as soon as you order, including the tip! !
Order from here if you like being hungry after finishing your meal. The pad see ew was good, I just wish there was maybe double what I got.
Just calculate a little time. We are waiting 50 minutes before the meal comes. But, it was very good.
I ordered via Uber Eats. The best Pad Thai Ive had on MTL, it has everything I want from a Pad Thai. Lots of shrimp, slightly sweet and tangy.... Love it!!
Great food. But: DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use Uber Eats. The driver stole our order. Stole! Uber refused to really deal withe issue.
Soup just for the cold. It is a small but cozy space.
So I m gettin over a mild flue and needing to get some nutrients in me and so I look up soup on maps and I the first review I read says best soup ever , so I roll the diced go there and order some broth. It was the best damn broth ever and the guy working there is super nice. I go to pay and he says it s on him and got that tasty broth for free. Im happy I love so close bc I will frequent this place at least once per week enjoy!
Very good Thai restaurant (one of the best pad thai I have tasted) and great service.
The food was good overall, although a little expensive for what it was... A very very simple starter of green papaya salad with Asian sausage (baloney lol) and raw green cabbage for + 20$ what?!?!..... We ordered soups. One of them was advertised as not very spicy, but honestly very spicy, to the point where you sweat while eating this soup. The manager told us (politely) that even children eat this soup.... Made us feel a bit stupid. The waitress on the other hand, a real gem! She offered us a free dessert which we didnt take, she apologized for this experience (something the manager didnt even do). What bothered me about this place is that like in a fast food restaurant, you pay before receiving the food.... Including the tip. Considering the evening, I wouldnt have left such a generous tip... Would I go back? I dont think so. Other authentic Thai restaurants with a better offer than this one.
The waitresss first sentence was to ask for her tip, even before ordering. Expensive food, decent taste but not worth the 60bath padthai from BKK.
Excellent foods and great service.
It was my first time trying thai food and it was delicious.
Most places with limited menus and nice decor tend to be pricier but tasty. Unfortunately the food was off, especially for Thai which is consistently great almost anywhere you go. Pad thai was dry and missing flavor, green curry was overly sweet and salty. You also have to bizarrely pay and tip as you order before you get the food. Gave me the ick that an MBA made some soulless decisions to cut down on ingredients, menu choices, portions, interior spacing in the name of almighty profit.
I went to Maé Sri Thai counter for dinner this Saturday and was impressed by the exceptional experience they offer their customers. I was warmly welcomed by the staff with a big thank you to Garen, who was not only friendly but also incredibly professional, he took the time to explain the menu to me as well as the different dishes to try. In short, A1 food and A1 service too
Best place in town to have good food, great service, an amazing ambiance and a unique experience! Everything was just perfect. Also the staff was unbelievable and took care of us which we greatly appreciated. If ever you have any question please ask for Garen cause he s the best! He helped us with the menu and made sure that our food was to our liking. I d give this restaurant more than 5 stars if I could!
Overpriced mediocre food... Tom Yum is okay. Thai Basil Porc was delicious, their only saving grace. Their Pad Thai was horrible, how can you justify serving a pad thai that is less tasty than Thai Express and on top of that frozen veggies (cauliflower and broccoli) for 16$. Daylight robbery. Their little tapioca dessert was not bad but pricey.
Casual Thai eatery in the heart of the Plateau. Friendly staff and delicious food. The portions were a bit small though if you were very hungry.
I really enjoyed the food and the service was pretty good!
The service was good, as was the atmosphere of the place. However, I found the food to be lacking. The flavor is not as strong as I would like for Thai food. No condiments for dining in. The noodles need a bit more cooking time for my liking.
Delicious food as always, and the best service from both the manager/owner(?) and the female server that was there on the 6th of March. Huge shoutout out for the quick service, and for accommodating they are.
Pricy but gooood Thai food in the Milton parc area. Montreal is lacking in Thai food options so this is pretty lit. My veg friends don t have many options here though
It was ok, not more
Came for late lunch, everything was delicious. I was sad when i finished my soup.
Most legit Thai food I ve eaten in Montreal
Great Thai food
The soup was delicious. I would return without hesitation. It was our first experience and we received very good advice from the waitress.
This is a great place for authentic, well cooked Thai food. I loved it Dont get carried away, a noodle soup is a full meal. Really high quality at a great price. Not to be missed I only dropped a star for atmosphere because it was a Monday and thus fairly quiet.
This place has fancy decorations. But the food is so average. Some of the food just tastes straight bland. Pork doesnt have a taste. Soupy dishes look like packaged sauce, not sure how fresh.
I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is very good, the atmosphere is pleasant and there is even a small terrace for sunny days. We have been back twice and it is certainly not the last time we will go. The menu is very varied and the prices very affordable.
yummmy place! love their chicken rice and Thai tea. Would totes recommend :))) was pretty busy when we went but wasn t too loud.
Portions are way too small and food is really expensive
Really good high quality thai food!
There on Sunday and no utensils or water were provided, the staff gave it to the next table..... Creative street food style amazed us. A bit salty but overall all the dishes are good, reasonable price and great staff who can answer your questions on the Thai noodles.
Quite dark at night, food wasnt very filling but it was okay. Not sure I would go back though.
Excellent food & teas!!
Beautiful place, tasty food, very caring service.
I have already warned them by telephone but they do not take customer feedback into account. I have ordered several times through Uber. Their dishes are generally tasty but the portions have become tiny and the prices in proportion to this are way too high. This is made ridiculous and insulting. Their meat is often too full of fat and not very appealing. I no longer recommend this place.
I had a great time! One of the best Thai restaurants in the city, I recommend without hesitation!
It tastes like eating in Thailand. I really love spicy food. The Best Thai noodle in town .
Quite nice for the price
Authentic flavours of Thailand with high quality ingredients
Nice food but very many indias sikh and not good peoples because is close to mcgill so be advise but food very good
Not the Thai food you crave. Extremely bland. No flavor. No spices. Strange that it was somehow full in the restaurant Staff is nice so I m being generous with the stars. Food
The food was extremely average tasting and very small portions for the price.
I really couldnt figure out how this restaurant averages four stars. The atmosphere was very nice. The people were friendly but there was no table service and you had to figure out your order and just go up to the counter and order it like you were at a take out place. As far as the food goes..... There are no drinks available except for cold tea. The food is served on a piece of sea vegetable which had a strong taste the food. The food was glistening with oil. Small servings. It was adequate but underwhelming for the price point and the high rating it got from other people.
Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian options available.
Always great, quick, no frills!
Good food. Very good service. The food tastes close enough to real Thai food. We tried the Papaya Salads, Green Curry and Pad Thai. The Papaya salad had way too much cabbage.
Take out order. The Tom Yum soup was absolutely delicious. Hearty and full of flavor. Impeccable freshness. Many thanks!
