3 Saint-Catherine St W, Montreal, Quebec H2X 3V4, Canada
Petite, urban bakery/cafe preparing cachitos & other Venezuelan desserts, breads, coffee & espresso.
Went in for a quick bite and forgot how good cachitos can be, very reasonably priced for the amount it filled me up and very tasty. They were out of one that I wanted but I was told that they had some more available and bake them for me. If you're in the area please try them!
We grabbed a drink and bite to eat and were so happy that we walked over to this establishment. The food was fresh and delicious and satisfying. We definitely will make our way over here again on our next trip to Montreal.
Venezuelan food?! In Montreal?! Say less. This is a hole-in-the-wall bakery offering cachitos, a Venezuelan savory pastry usually filled with ham and typically shaped like croissants. They seemed to have some indoor seating, but we ordered at their outdoor window — it reminded us of the South Florida ‘ventanita’ culture. It was a lovely experience. We stumbled upon Cachitos while walking around Montreal and had to do a double-take. The place's name wasn’t in French, and upon closer look, we saw that it was a Venezuelan spot. Needless to say we had to try the food. As someone raised in Miami, I have somewhat high standards for Latin cuisine, and Cachitos’ food did not disappoint. They had an extensive menu of different cachitos, everything from the traditional ham and cheese to guava-filled ones (which I regret not getting). We went with the traditional ham, and it was delicious! You could tell it had been freshly baked. It was so warm, and every bite just took us back to the street food in Miami. It was one of the best fast-food Latin pastries I’ve had in a while. It came with a sauce side, making for the perfect pairing. The one thing I wish they did differently? Adding prices to their menu. I had no idea whether we would pay $10 or $3 (we ended up paying $6 for one, a fair price for a hearty snack).
Delicious little bread of ham like those from Venezuela. An excellent breakfast, snack or dinner. Local well located in the center of Montreal.
We indulged in a variety of their offerings, including the beef & cheddar, cheese, ham & cheese cachitos, and a delectable dulce de leche cupcake. Among them, my personal favorite was the beef & cheddar cachito. The staff was incredibly friendly, always wearing smiles, and their hospitality added to the positive atmosphere. It's an excellent place to enjoy a tasty evening snack outdoors, and we truly enjoyed our time there.
So simple yet so good. I got the recommendation from a Venezuelan friend to try this place out. My favourite one we tried was the spinach ricotta over the ham and cheese. We also got different drinks like the coconut one which were sweet and perfect for dessert. The actual desserts they had on display all looked so good and would go back to try other cachitos and a dessert next time.
We never had Cachitos previously, but now we are huge fans! We have been here a couple of times during our stay in Montreal. Cachito is a Venezuelan soft baked bread traditionally filled with minced ham. This little shop offers this unique baked good with additional flavors like spinach and ricotta, guava and cheese, beef and cheddar. They serve it with a small side of green sauce, which is really good. We have tried the traditional one with ham, and the other 3 mentioned earlier. All of them are excellent. The guava and cheese one is like a dessert, and the spinach and ricotta is a good vegetarian option. We went very close to closing time and yet got freshly baked warm cachitos. The service is very pleasant and the prices are reasonable. If you are a light eater, then a single cachito will be filling. I would definitely add this to a must try in Montreal. You have to experience these perfectly soft warm bread with a hint of sweetness and delicious filling! The shop is cozy with limited seating, but these are perfect to take out, carry around and eat while you are on the move.
Very interesting experience. Shop keeper was super nice and I had the Guava & Cheese flavor. I like it. Tips: walk down to the road and there is a very beautiful and quite place for patio seating. The bright yellow long table is an art piece. You can seat there and enjoy your food. Second Picture.
Ok. Parking: No parking. Food : 3/5 |
Bit on the expensive side, but tastes amazing, the spinach one was a bit good, but the ham and cheese one was simply amazing.
They were super delicious. I hadnt eaten a few pieces in many years and they reminded me of my childhood in Venezuela. I will return thank you
They have achieved a very good product. Which you can eat on site or take frozen to your home or in convenient pre-cooked boxes. There you can eat them with a good coffee or other drink. Why dont I rate them 5? Because if 5 people enter we are already crowded hahaha, the rest is 5 stars.
Another place that I love to visit to taste the flavors of my land, the cachitos and the tequeños are the best
We live in a world where a cachito is over $6 but hey, go check it out.
Very tasty and great customer service
I loved !!
Fresh and yummy on the run breakfast pastry
Always delicious. Always greeted by a superb smile.
Affordable food to eat and go.
Very friendly attendant and the spinach cachito was delicious!
Great place for good venezuelan cachitos and desserts. Great conversations ... Food
The best cachitos and the coffee is like having it in Caracas. They have to come!!!
Best Coffee in Montreal. Love the food and the service. Gracias!!!!
Excellent venezuelan food Bakery. Its small but with warm and very good customer service.
#Average Not So Good
One of my favourite spots in the city!!
Ight
The coffee was okay, and the service was great, but it seemed the staff were overworked and overwhelmed by the heat in the place, as there was no air conditioning inside.
The food is excellent! The service can improve.
I was in downtown and I wanted to visit Cachitos for breakfast, I waited until opening time, and then 9:32 am we come in, the place is empty, the lady who is there is just putting the cahitos in the oven, saying would take 30 min. I mean if the place opens at 9:30 the personal should arrive before in order to have everything ready for opening. I paid more parking and waited for nothing.
Non-enthusiastic service. Cachitos had too much dough. Atmosphere in accordance. Not all offerings available. Of those available not all were freshly made. But then again, its virtually impossible to find a bakery in Montreal island which offers fresh produce.
AMAZING place. 10/10 recommend. Best Cachitos and Taqueños in Montreal.
The food is delicious but I wish portions were bigger.. a bit pricy considering the size
Naika and Fernando gave us top notch customer service! They made our wait for tequenos enjoyable. Was a pleasure meeting you guys! - Girls from Ontario (the girl who s not Latina but maybe should be hahaha) Also great tequenos!
To curious palates! Cachitos (typical Friday dish) are breads stuffed with ham, cheese, bacon, spinach or meat. They are delicious! Dare! Vegetarian options: Spinach stuffing...
The cachitos are so good, I used to go to the previous location and it was always a great treat to help me study. The staff is always very nice. I havent seen the owner for the last few trips but hes the reason I come back to get some cachitos whenever I can. The only draw is their current location. Its horribly small, but ACed at least. The vibe is not as interesting as before. But if youre not looking to sit down and eat this is perfect.
Good service, super little pieces, I recommend it
Fantastic
Does it seem like there were changes to the recipe? The ham does not have the same flavor, I dont know if the dough was also changed or was not well cooked but it had a different and strange texture...those two points took away the good taste of the piece. The accompanying sauce also lost flavor, it tastes a lot like simple mayonnaise... I hope it was punctual as a change, I was disappointed with my box of 6 little pieces.
I finally returned with my wife on Sunday afternoon. We took 4 Venezuelan stuffed breads and small cheese sticks. Once again a pure delight
Small and casual spot. The cachitos are good, I just wished they had more cheese inside. Other than that, they are super tasty.
Is a must-to-go place in downtown Montreal, the cachitos are amazing, especially the beef one, the spinach and cheese one and the guava and cheese one. His owner is really candid and eager to please the customers. Will be back soon!!!
great value for money
Good filling and soft bread. Great spot if you want a quick convenient snack but the price may be a bit premium.
Very rich
Excellent place to taste the famous Venezuelan cachitos in Canada, the service and flavor is very good, and the prices are in line with the reality of the costs.
Food is food, coffee is coffee, place is place. Although unassuming in its exteriour, it is the same for the quality of the product. Just very alright. What I can give is that it is conveniently placed and good on the go. The food was surprisingly filling for what it is.
Very good little pieces, excellent and also the drinks with a lot of flavor. Good service and very friendly people who run the place. I recommend it...
extremely disappointed. came in for an order and they didnt give us everything we paid for and ordered. just disappointing, dont know what else to say. wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.
Very good place we found it while walking I highly recommend the coconut smoothies and the pastel tres leches quedo delicious
Found it by chance, and not disappointed! Its very simple but super good. To eat on the go. Better to take away because the place is very small. I recommend !
Best tequeños in Montreal for sure, tequechitos like they say, delicious delicious! And the service very good, fast, french-English-Spanish, very kind and friendly!
I really enjoyed the 3 empanados: cheese, meat and spinach. the best in the city!
Definitely the best Venezuelan ham bread. Congratulations
Wish we could sit down at a table - I realize rent is crazy expensive
Super
Such a great snack and super friendly service. Ham and cheese and guava and cheese are super great
Beautiful, good, relatively inexpensive for the area.... I would much rather have a cachito than go buy a hot dog or a slice of pizza. Much better for your health than the hot dog, a brioche with different toppings (cheese, ham, cheese, meat, spinach, cheese, etc.) which allows you to continue your work day, lightly! ;-)
Small place
Venezuelan cuisine! Warm place, in the city center near Saint Laurent metro station and Place-des-Arts. This place is great, the cachitos are my favorite...
After nearly ten visits, it s still a treat!
Very good ham bread, one of the best I have tried outside of my Venezuela
Fantastic Venezuelan treat ideal for breakfast or snack in the afternoon!
Super good coffee. I always look forward to my brown or dark brown at break time. I also really like the lemonade and the spinach sandwich. Sometimes its difficult to get service in French, but they always make an effort and are super friendly. I love this place. Vegetarian options: Spinach bread
Nice!
Very good
Personally I recommend the one with guava, but they all taste good. They also sell meringue.
The best little pieces in centuries!
Excellent !
Excellent
I loved it, I felt in my homeland and the person serving is super friendly, I would return 100 times.
Nice place to eat cachitos and tequeños! Id feel like home. You have to try the cocada, its delicious!
Excellent option in the center of Montreal. It is a small cafeteria but with a Latin soul. Maybe it lacks a little more Latin variety. But it is a perfect place to share a pleasant moment and rest from the noise of the city with an exquisite meal.
Amazing food! Went with my kids and they loved it. Amazing service too. We went on a rainy day. The place was warm not because the heaters, but also because of the employees. We had a nice conversation. Definitely recommend.
The 2 owners are very good....dont miss it....
Its nothing special, similar to pigs (or other toppings) in a blanket. Price is pretty expensive for what it is, and they ran out of stock for what I wanted (I came midday), but it was very convenient. Vegetarian options: Yes, there is spinach, guava, and cheese
Unique food, esp guava. A bit pricey for the product, but not a good experience overall
The Ham and Cheese was really good but I could mainly only taste the cheese as there is only a thin slice of ham inside. The cheese cachito is good. I love the coconut smoothie
Amazing meal, amazing deal. Id try everything on the menu. Stop by and say hi to the wonderful crowd around.
Amazing
Yum good get this yes ok
Hotdog in the middle of a bread, horrible
Amazing!
Really delicious little pieces
A very small place that I would classify in a maximum size of 7 feet / 6 feet despite all that it seems that they have some loyal customers, on the other hand the small place is very clean, well lit those who serve are warm and welcoming . Vegetarian options: I ate a spinach and cheese bread which is considered vegetarian bread.
Authentic Venezuelan Food!
A yummy treat on your way to some place else.
The stuffed bread is very tasty and light. It made a very good snack for my sister and I! She had a beef and cheese option and I took ham and bacon. The fillings were delicious, although they could have come in larger quantities for the price... Thats my only negative comment, the place is great!
Delicious cachitos, take one to go and walk around Place des Arts. Saw some reviews where people ordered 2 but one was definitely enough for me. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian (cheese-based) but not vegan Parking: Dont bother parking in this area; park elsewhere and walk or take public transit Kid-friendliness: No alcohol served here but if you go late at night there could be partygoers
Tiny spot but tasty! Servir was A1 but it was pricey... Food : 4/5
The cachitos and coffee are very good. The staff are always welcoming and friendly.
My wife and I went here the other day. She got the beef and cheese cachito and I got the ham and bacon. Both were good, I preferred hers. Went back and got a spinach and ricotta one and sat in the park and fed it to the birds.
Gorgeous
If you want to have Venezuelan cachitos in Montreal, then this is the place to go have them right in the downtown area.
Great food! Would recommended big time. Very friendly staff and friendly service.
Deliciously exquisite! I tried the one with guava and ham&cheese - both were simply perfect. Just the smell of this food brings so much happiness. Whoa, new favorite!
Best cachitos I have ever had !!
Best cachitos ever!! Very fresh and wide selection! 100% recommended
It looks like nothing. But its fantastic. Great service. Food was hot
Excellent fast food. Super good value for money.
The most amazing treats from Venezuela to add happiness to your day. You gotta try the cocada!!!
Really amazing quick snack place, and really friendly staff They have traditional Venezuelan foods - cachitos and tequenos Both delicious with cheese, and have both vegetarian and meat options My personal recommendations would be the beef cheddar or spinach cachitos, and cheese tequenos Vegetarian options: They have a good selection of tasty foods without any meat
The chorizo and cheese one is so delicious!!!! You need to try this! Warm and doughy and the cheese pull is insane!
I wish I could keep cachitos on me, one in each pocket I love the ham and cheese and guava and cheese flavors!
Delicious Venezuelan cachitos super friendly service!!!
Had a breakfast snack here that was delicious. Family owned offering traditional Venezuelan hand pies.
Very small place but love the cachitos and Marron
Its a lovely little place. The food is fresh and tasty. The service is warm and fast. I will go back!
Great food and atmosphere. Really recommend if you want authentic Venezuelan baked goods :)
I really enjoy this tiny little shop. They serve these great little savoury mini sandwich type pastry. Ive tried them all and I am never disappointed. Warm, flavourful, and convenient to eat on the go! One easily satisfies my craving for a late afternoon snack. Please stop by if you are ever in the area catching a show or at a festival! Super friendly service.
Excellent Venezuelan food, tequeños made instantly. The Cachitos are very tasty, and they sell some desserts like 3 leches cake, which are the originals and very small. Excellent, everything is of quality, I recommend it. Kid-friendliness: Yes delicious food.
We tried the stuffed bread and they were fantastic! Fresh and tasty just how I remembered them back home. Staff was very friendly. They play good music too. Well definitely be back
Excellent hallacas and exquisite ham bread!! Thank you
Good ham bread, I recommend it!
Excellant
Excellent
Always so reliably delicious! A must-try.
Delicious, warm, with Venezuelan flavor.
Delicious!!!! I didnt know this Venezuelan specialty!!!! Full of flavors! And the sauce!!!!! Gorgeous! Go there with your eyes closed! It easily replaces pizza or sushi!
So delish!!!!!
Excellent
I am Venezuelan and this cachitos take me back to my home country. Delicious, super soft and flavourful. I ve waited to whole trip to Montreal just to visit this place. Definitely the best cachitos that I have tried in CANADA.
The Best/ultimate satisfaction Cochitos in Canada ! A great household recipe that comes out fluffy, soft bread(made from corn starch) called cochitosssss! Can be made with different toppings .
Cute place. Nothing extraordinary in taste but it makes a good snack! I also had a coffee and it was very good. The lady took her time to froth the cappuccino, it was obvious that she wanted to do things well. Very satisfied with the service.
their cheese is amazing.
Just go buy as many as you can to store in the freezer and enjoy whenever you want. These are a must: ham & cheese, chorizo & cheese and the guava & cheese!!!
They made me fresh the items I was looking for as they were out of the
The real deal
Their cachitos are incredible. Im glad that a small traditional Venezuelan place exists in the heart of Montreal. Really a good snack on the go. I always had good experiences every time I went there.
The best Venezuelan food I ve had in Canada! Had to stop here for lunch when visiting Montreal from Edmonton and it did not disappoint! Comida mundial!
Delicious, I had never heard of it but I will be craving them all the time now. Perfect food to eat while you walk, and the bread has a nice sweetness similar to a soft pretzel.
Delicious.
Delicious
Delicious, and quick,
The bread and the filling were absolutely delicious!
Went here for the first time 3 years ago. Still just as delicious and friendly as ever. Will definitely come back again next time Im on Saint Catherine
Amazing coffee but cachitos were just okay. Nothing extraordinary, also Lady behind the counter was very rude and texting during our all entire visit. I wouldn t recommend.
I really enjoyed trying out this Venezuelan dish. We tried the guava and cheese (my favorite), spinach and ricotta, chorizo and ham. Theyre quite filling and make a great meal to share! I also had the delicious cafecito, would highly recommend the delicious, affordable food here.
Delicious.
I had chorizo and cheese and it was excellent!
Very nice and personable two employees. I went later in the day so they only had a few options left. I got the guava/cheese and sausage/cheese and they were both great. Definitely recommend
I dont know much about Venezuelan food but without a doubt cocadas and cachitos are on my list of favorite fast food in downtown Montreal! I love
Honestly for how simple the cachitos were, I did not expect it to be that amazing. They were so tasty and has you craving for another!
The food is delicious with good price and excellent attention. 100% recommended. Vegetarian options: Spinach, guava and cheese
Delicious food and friendly staff
As always excellent!
Nothing fancy. It was ok. Basically a croissant with a bit of toppings inside. I also feel like the ingredients inside could be a little extra because i barely saw any beef or ham.
Its really delicious. Tiny spot with incredibly delicious food. Loved eating here, would again
This is an amazing place, the best cachitos! Definitely recommend. If you visit Montréal dont miss the opportunity to go! 1000 % recommend
The food is delicious and fresh! Got the traditional with jabom and it was incredible!
Since I left Venezuela, I hadnt eaten a Cachito for 10 years. While visiting Montreal I was moved to see a Venezuelan panaderia Upon entering to the place, all the excitement dissipated having to deal with the woman who attends the place. She was absolutely rude, not polite at all. The only unfriendly person Ive run into in Montreal and had to be a Venezuelan. She ruined the whole experience of tasting the cachito. Just in case the management of this business wants to check up on what happened, this just happened to me 10 minutes ago today. I WILL NEVER COME BACK! And I will make sure to tell what happened to me here to everyone I know.
It s had been a while without eating a delicious Cachito!! I felt back at home. congratulations for such a great product and for all the achievements!! Venezuelan product 100% recommended it! Made with love.
$7 and a nasty attitude! My husband is Venezuelan. We were very excited to try this place. The woman who was there didnt greet us, no hello, no nothing. She was not friendly to say the least. I asked how much ot cost and she didnt answer. Such a sad experience. I wouldnt return!
Its not just hype, it is THAT good!
super friendly employees , I mainly spoke english and a little bit of french and while I needed some advice on the food, one of them was doing their best to help me out. food was also lovely. both of them were great and overall a pleasant vibe!
Cafe with amazing food
Good service and good food. The coconut smoothie is to die for! Vegetarian options: I took the Colombian (guava and cheese) and the veg one (ricotta, Parmesan and spinach)
We needed a quick place for a brunch and this location came up. We were pleasantly surprised. The dough was soft and sweet and contained great fillings. We also had the coconut smoothies. Overall a great choice for a quick grab-and-go breakfast or lunch. The staff was friendly, even though I hit a girl with the door when I entered (be careful!)
I love the little pieces from that place, eating it reminds me a lot of my childhood, its texture and flavor are magical.
Good for a quick bite. Its a bit expensive, but at least they dont ask for tips at the counter like some other places I could name.
So delicious
Yes for the location. The sandwiches were ok
An absolutely wonderful little window food shop. I had the Bonbon (Espresso with Sweetened Condensed Milk) and the Jam and Cheese. Service was amazing and only bettered by the quality of the food. A gem in a very touristic and overrated region of Montreal. I will come back every time I m in the place des arts.
Its never disappointing <3 love it. Good Venezuelan food.
Its good but just a regular snack.
Delicious !
