Carol's Catering & Cafe in Moose Jaw

The food was bland, the potatoes cubes were like mashed potatoes and soft and mushy and not crunchy, the eggs were sunny side up and still raw on the top, the toast was good and the coffee was good. The other 2 got the skillets, they should call them potatoes skillets as there was basicly no meat in them, they were pretty disappointed the service was good, I got my wife and kid meals too go and said that I need there egg yolks cooked right threw and they were runny.(almost 1 year later, we will skip carols and go too r and s) how do you mess up breakfast? Mash potatoe hash browns, though hash browns were suppose too be crispy and brown?

Incredible homemade from scratch food. Service is always great. Staff very helpful and friendly. They have an awesome seniors menu. Vegetarian options: They have some salads. Dietary restrictions: They will offer gluten free bread, must ask for this option. Parking: If you are there around mealtime, then finding parking is iffy. Kid-friendliness: Good place to bring the kiddos Wheelchair accessibility: There is handicap parking and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible.

The stall door in the mens bathroom doesnt lock. I found this to be very unsettling, especially as the door to the bathroom in its entirety doesnt have a lock either so I had to be creative and use the trashcan and the plunger to make sure the stall door stayed closed while I used the toilet. Aside from that, if you dont need to use the bathroom it is a quiet place to have a coffee if thats what youre looking for. I wouldnt recommend the food either unfortunately

Update: Saturday, June 22nd, supper time they do a decent looking poutine, good size for the dollar. And a very pretty tossed salad in which the b Veggies were very fresh and crisp. It was so good I dont even need the dressing SO. I came in on wednesday evening just around 7pm. I came for the coffee, stayed for the breakfast for supper. One complaint: The cheese used on top the omelette was definitely not real, either melted slices Or a melted artifical like Velveeta or cheese whiz type of deal, probably the GFS block proccessed cheesthat gets sliced off, But that aside it was a great omelette Its always been good quality food here, and good quantity food for the price too. The server I had today, though she was new to the job she did great. And was totes super ADORRRBZ! Very polite and friendly. Courteous and caring. Its always clean in this place. A datated but very nice atmosphere and decor. TONS of floor space to maneuver too of one is in a wheelchair or walker. I never seen it too busy here before. So service ans food arrival is usually pretty quick. However I will say though, dont bother with the pie and/or ice cream its just the standard grocery cheap Walmart style store stuff. Other than that, it was okay Parking: Lots of it Wheelchair accessibility: Ample room to get around easily. Double door ground level entry

Tried going to carols today, sat there for 10 mins not being acknowledged. While people after us got drinks and menus. Very poor service. Can t comment on the food cause we left after sitting there and not service. Thumbs down

Had two great meals here and very good service as well.

I dont know whats happened, but things have taken a nosedive. I waited as the waitress cleaned off a table, said thank you, and sat down. Then, we waited for 20 minutes just to have someone stop at our table. If we hadnt been waiting on others to join us, we would have left. After our company joined us, which included a 10 month old, we finally got our order taken, about 20 minutes after they arrived. Our food took an hour, an hour! Im an understanding person, but as a former waitress, absolutely unacceptable. And no, as far as I was concerned, it wasnt that busy. As a cook myself, an hour to cook 4 adult breakfasts and some waffle fingers is unreal. Dealing with a baby, who is by this point Hangry, is unacceptable. Once we got our food, our bacon was beyond crispy, and the rest was so so. The babys food was last to arrive. As we tried to appease the baby, I ate quickly so his mom could eat with both hands. My grandson ended up not eating, because he way beyond that point. I walked with him to calm him, and he ended up asleep in my arms. Hungry and tired of waiting. By the time we left, we had been there 2 hours. Carols, we will not be back, which is a shame, because you use to be good.

Just had my first experience at Carols Cafe! I was dining in and could not be happier. While the menu contained all the classics and a few rarities, and the special was quite attractive, I was hungry and went for Combo C - hamburger steak, 3 eggs, hash browns, and rye bread. Lets just say when the friendly waitress placed the steaming hot fresh looking, well presented and unbelievable fragrant plate in front of me I knew I had come to the right place! An assortment of jams and jellies followed a brown, red and hot sauce. Best shredded hash browns with fresh scallions and ham, lovely flavoring in the hamburger steak with a hint of nutmeg(?), eggs cooked to my request and rye bread slathered with butter, the coffee hot and the water wet! Anyway, if you get a chance I would head in and bring your family and friends. Its all home cooked, its not frozen and its homestyle. Will stop in next time I come this way south! Even though Im full to the brim, reflecting on this meal has me ready for round two! Bye for now!

They didnt even hesitate when I asked if I could order a cheeseburger at 7am. They obliged and my girl was the happiest ever . She cleaned her plate!! If you want a nice home cooked meal, come here! Our food was good. Our server was attentive. We liked the quiet to have a good visit. Lots of selection on the menu including a long seniors menu.

What a gem! Rarely do you find a non franchised restaurant on a major highway outside of a city that gives you the best in food, service and atmosphere. Prices are extremely reasonable- considering the rising cost of food, portions are very good and its very clean. So if youre in the area stop in and support this fantastic restaurant.

Tracy our server, was fantastic, and even though she was serving 22 people she did it without delays. The bacon like the Real Farm bacon, real tasting thick slides, and the waffles my partner had we heavenly. best food of our trip!

Went out on November 14/2020.. The whole experience was less than satisfactory.. There was only 3 tables in the restaurant, and we had to wait an unacceptable amount of time for our drinks and even longer for our food. We were rarely checked up on, once the food finally came out, we were left to ourselves until we were way past finished.. The food wasnt terrible but I had a beef dip and the meat was very chewy.. The server wasnt necessarily mean but she definitely wasnt the most cheerful person, it felt like we were a burden to her. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have had this experience at this establishment.. The time before this, the manager didnt even know how to make a simple paralyzer.. We were the only table dining there and we still had to wait close to 30 minutes for 3 drinks, 2 paralyzers and 1 bottled beer... I couldnt tell you why.. when the drinks did come out, the paralyzers were made incorrectly.. Thankfully, we are nice, tolerable people and gave them a break but I can honestly say that I will not be back because of this.

Some of the meals at our table were very high priced for the serving offered. The waffle explosion was the biggest disappointment. One Belgium waffle with very little fruit and a whole lot of whipped topping.

Realy happy to visit this restaurant first there was Decaf already For I did com in .and there was a very sweet smiling waitress taking my order .the food was greath realy enjoyed my visit .and for the price I needed to pay that only did make my morning beter .thanks guy,s .I recommend to stop and visit them.for truckers its littel walk but its good

I had the Bacon Cheese Burger and it was great, fresh homemade beef patty and fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Staff were very friendly and pretty easy to get to with a Tractor Trailer.

Stopped here for lunch, lots of truck parking at coop cardlock and a quick walk across the parking lot to the restaurant. Walk inside nice quiet atmosphere, smells like home cooking. Greeted by two wonderful women. I had the beef dip and it was incredible, the beef was thick and perfect. Crisp onions and peppers and the bread toasted nicely with garlic on it. Nostalgic crinkle cut fries in a generous serving. I was stuffed from this meal so I had to top it off with the best I ve had ever pecan pie, the right amount of sweet and chewy. And my coffee was larger than any other restaurant, delicious and always full. Fantastic place to stop and can t wait to come again soon. 15/10 recommend coming here. Celebrated a birthday with 6 of our family. The server looked to be having a rough day and didnt seem very happy to be there. The tomato soup was very salty. The 2 piece cutlet meal looked like they took a single cutlet and cut it in half. They were very small no more than 4 bites each. Smallest cutlets that Ive ever seen. I also thought it was odd that the price was rounded up when I paid with debit. Rounding should only be applied to CASH payments. We left a decent tip as 2 of our group worked many years in the food service industry and we know what its like. Our server finally smiled after that. Overall meh.

Good home cooking! The softball {meatloaf in a bun smothered in gravy) was very tasty, as was the veal cutlet. A good stop when in Moose Jaw.

Great place for a hearty, home cooked meal!

Really liked it but didn t absolutely love it or anything like that. The breakfast was good and reasonably priced. Service was pretty decent. It took a long time to get our food, there wasn t much parking available, and there was really no dining privacy (essentially a wide open room with tables and chairs). Overall great place and we d definitely stop here again! A lot of old timers were patrons when we visited so you know it s a good reasonably priced place!

Truly horrible. Went on Thanksgiving for their turkey dinner. Was there minutes after they opened and waited 2.5 hours before some of our order even came. Then was treated to the most tasteless meal ever . Mashed potatoes like glue. Soupy dressing. Dry turkey. Foul foul foul. They were too interested in take out orders. Very disappointing. Whole restaurant was full of angry people

Thanksgiving meal was a 3 hr wait and inedible. Watched people walk out in droves the male waiter on staff was a nice guy but an absolute disaster as a server. Never again

Thanksgiving supper ruined by this train wreck. Waited several hours for food that was tasteless and disgusting. Went and bought a rotisserie chicken after which tasted like a 5 star dining experience compared to this foul fowl of a turkey supper.

Staying the night on Moose Jaw so thought I d order from Carols, the reviews were decent and I love a good hot beef sandwich and nachos. Ordered on Skip (because I don t have a car here) and it came quickly. While the roast beef itself was good, the gravy was clumpy, the mashed potatoes were lumpy and cold and the frozen carrots were over cooked. Subsequently, the nachos, while a decent portion had almost no cheese, the cheese wasn t even melted and there was an exorbitant amount of peppers and no black olives. Black olives are my favourite part of nachos so this was very disappointing. The other disappointing thing about the nachos is they were made with a hamburger patty chopped up. It tasted fine but it would have been nice to know that s what it was going to come as. I would have ordered something else. All in all, I paid $50 with tip and didn t enjoy my meal. Maybe dining in would be different but if skip is your only option, I d avoid it.
