Upscale destination for local fare & cocktails at the Temple Gardens Hotel & Spa.
Friendly staff. They do have gluten free options (even 2 desserts) which is nice for a person with celiac. The steak was cooked to perfection.
Good food and good atmosphere. The lady server was great too. She was awesome.
If you want to find a rare dish this is the place to go, beef wellington! They only make so many per day and it is made to perfection. Along with other excellent savory choices Harwood's is a solid choice for special occasions or celebrations.
It was a decent place. They have a variety of drinks. Food was good; we ordered the korean chicken bbq and the roasted hen. If you're not staying at the hotel, might have to pay and park on the street. We waited for more than 30 minutes for the mains, but we had our bread and dip appy (which we enjoyed!), so we were fine. 😊
Delicious food and a great atmosphere even during covid. Our server was very attentive and timely. Expect to loosen your purse strings a bit for the entrees, but there are some very affordable options too. Presentation was good, and portions were near perfect. If you want to overindulge you're at the wrong place, but you certainly won't be hungry after eating one of these meals. If you've got a room at the spa, you'd be a fool not to stick around Harwood's for a meal!
Great service and great food for reasonable prices! Loved their Thanksgiving meal. My husband and I were staying at the hotel attached to the restaurant and wandered down at 430 hoping to have an early dinner, with no reservation. We were told by the very friendly hostess that we would have to wait for the dining room to open but we were able to sit in the lounge and order drinks and apps. We were able to be seated in the dining room right at 5pm with no reservation and our food cam within 10 minutes of us sitting down.
Lunch was great. I had the greek burger. Grilled chicken would be better. The thai chicken soup was amazing and so was the whiskey creme brulee. The server was very friendly and even let us try the soup before.
Absolutely outstanding value for what you get, especially considering that it is still within a spa hotel. Typically Spa food pricing is extremely expensive. The lunch menu is very reasonable. The dinner menu resembles more of an upscale restaurant price point. The service is not spectacular but adequate. Serving staff seems a little too casual, yet competent. The lobby of the hotel has been recently renovated and the glass bubble art installation in the lobby is breathtaking.9x13
The beef wellington was fantastic
Waiter suggested their signature dish-beef Wellington. It was overpriced and not very good. Last time I eat there.
Hardwoods has drastically changed their menu in Dec 2023 and their prices have in turn drastically increased. Definitely not impressed... My husband and I used to love coming here on date nights, but suffice to say we were very disappointed. We only bought drinks. Appetizers selection was pedestrian and their entrees were exorbitant.
Food was good but overpriced. Baked brie appetizer was excellent. Server was extremely friendly. Decor is a bit dated feeling more like a diner that the higher end restaurant
I ate too much, but it was so good!
Steaks were salty and poor cut, they seemed understaffed, although they did offer us a discount on the meals. This will probably be our last time coming here. Polite staff but could use a little more training.
Food is inconsistent and service is slow
My mom, sisters and I were at the hotel for a spa weekend and we ate here our first night. The food was very good and everything so fancy and professional! I definitely recommend it!
I ordered the beef wellington at $48 and the pastry was raw. When I mentioned this to the waitress she gave me a $10 discount. The portobello appetizer was excellent! Maybe they are understaffed but had to ask repeatedly for water. How about putting a pitcher of water at the table?
Do not order breakfast here. The portions are very small (I left hungry) and very pricey! The food that we did get tasted fairly good, but I would go somewhere else next time for more food at a better price
We would have loved to eat there as we were staying at temple gardens for a special occasion. We arrived at 8 and the server walked away after making eye contact with us coming down the corridor, came back 2 minutes later and said sorry, we dont serve after 8. Very rude as she saw us approaching and walked away and seemed to have purposely left until 8:02 when she could no longer serve us. I think its a bit silly to not serve customers an entire hour before your scheduled close time. Disappointing, will not prioritize trying again when moosejaw has so many other great restaurants to explore.
Very good food and service
Our server was good but I had asked for an eggs benedict soft, but it was far from soft. It was hard and the hollandaise sauce was very lemony.
Waited about 5 minutes before someone came and brought us to our table. The server came by as soon as we sat down and asked for our order but we were not ready. She did not return, did not get us drinks, did not check on us. My child (13 months) was getting upset as he was hungry, the server walked by but did not check on us as we could have ordered for him. We had to grab another server who stated this was not her area but reluctantly took our order anyways, she also brought my son some milk but did not get us water. Our server never came back until we got our food. She warned us that the food was hot but it was far from it. The only part our our food that was hot was that which was touching the plate. Food was really delicious but would have been better if it was hot. We still never got any drinks until the manager showed up and got us some water. The reason for 2 stars is because of the foods taste. It would have been 0 stars due to everything else. Over an hour wait before we got food and about 1 hour 15 minutes until water. RETRAIN YOUR STAFF! *Update* We did not have to wait for a table or for the server to bring anything. Our food showed up quickly but was not what we were expecting. Breakfast BLT was good but the pesto aoili was more of a herb mayo than an actually pesto. My wife ordered the classic eggs Benedict, soft poach, eggs were medium to hard poached and the hollandaise sauce was too lemony.
Very poor food that was terribly overpriced. Service was excellent.
Very good food and portions were great a little bit on the pricey side.
Do not eat the breakfast buffet. Eggs tasted like fish, poorly maintained, flies everywhere and service was poor.
Service was great. Prices are way to high now.
Highway robbery for what the breakfast buffet provides. We were staying at the hotel and came down on Sunday expecting to order off of the menus - but we weren t provided on. Juice and coffee is extra. Toast is extra. $25 for some bacon, sausage, runny eggs Benedict and frozen waffles. Oh and beans. Six croissants were put out at a time. There was NO indication at the front that it was a buffet , nor were we told of this by our server. The price was even kept hidden until the end. The hotel and restaurant should be ashamed of this service.
Absolutely not what we expected, beyond horrible food experience. We went for breakfast and had looked up the menu prior to going, the menu looked pretty good some nice options and then we got there and were told it was a buffet. To our knowledge it wasn t supposed to be a buffet. we should have turned around then, but decided to give it a try. I have had free continental breakfasts that where way better than this breakfast was , it had no toast, no cereal, uneatable pancakes. For 2 of us and 2 orange juices it was $58.72 and honestly not worth more than $9.99 each person.
Honestly, it was extremely over priced and the food was NOT good. I ordered steak medium rare and when it arrived... a VERY long time later, it was cooked really well done and mostly gristle. The server was kind about it and brought me another one. This time it came with no mushrooms or onions and the steak was well done again!! At this point I was just DONE. I will never be back again and dont recommend. I understand now why it was a 3.6 rating.
Wasnt a great value for money. We saw an online menu that said the beef wellington was $38 and it was $64. That was quite the inflation. We had it anyway and the wellington was so great, but the gravy was extremely salty. The staff were kind to us but the supervisors were very passive aggressive with their staff which was very uncomfortable. The ravioli was a very small portion for the price. We also did brunch and had looked forward to a la carte for some of the specials advertised but it was a buffet. They charged $9 for our 1 year old, so I dont think you can call this place family friendly! The breakfast buffet itself had good hashbrowns and eggs Benedict, but had the really cheap sausages that get really wrinkly (even though we were there first thing so they should have been fresh), and literal eggos. Pretty embarrassing for a fancy place to serve soggy eggos for their waffle option. However, they had the most incredible croissants at the buffet, better than Ive had in Paris. It nearly made up for the rest of the experience. Overall, service, price, food, not sure that this place cracks top 10 in Moose Jaw.
Went for breakfast and the food was quite good and well priced. Our waitress Shay was super nice and friendly.
Waitress was absolutely amazing, and food was devine.
This Could be Wonderful is very poor in All Areas Now
Shameful. I had the most pathetic meal of my life that took over an hour to prepare. My salad came in a shot glass. My salmon was flavorless and sad. My toddlers Goldfish crackers are more appealing than the pity party of a meal I had. Save your appetite for something better. Know your worth and visit a better establishment
We ordered our meals for pick up to our room. I ordered a stake sandwich it was not cooked to what I ordered, was a cold flavorless slab of meat on a Cruton with 1 piece lettuce that honestly tasted like a leaf from a tree. Also was very over priced. On the up side the waitress was very friendly who brought us the salad they has forgot. She went out of her way to bring it to the spa, unfortunately also the salad; very terrible a rabbit wouldnt have ate it. The waitress was the best part of the experience.
Best steak Ive ever had! Amazing!
Great breakfast. Server Bobby Jo was very nice and friendly. 5 stars Manitoba belle !
First off.. I just wonna say normally when I come here its been a decent experience. Expensive but good meals. But today was very disappointing. Its a busy week with kids being out of school. So they limited their breakfast to a Express Buffet Very limited options. Maybe 9 in total (including bagels.. ) Eggs were the only thing done right. The sausage seemed cheap with a thick casing hard to bite into.. Bacon was way overcooked. Crumbled into dust when you picked them up. The potatoes were small potatoes cut in half roasted style with onions all over them. (Not a fan of onions and no other options available.) The waffles were tiny and dried out. Very hard edges that hurt your mouth when you try to bite them. The area for the strawberry and syrup was a mess.. no one wiped it down the intire time we were there. Waitress asked how things were when my mouth was full. Looked at my wife and then walked away. Didnt get a chance to explain. Overall bad experience. Seemed like the headchef wasnt in today.
Good flavors. Nice presentation. Portioned appropriately. The beef wellington was cooked perfectly.
Had a wonderful dinner and drinks here our first night at hotel. We had the chicken cordon bleu and Beef Wellington for dinner, the cheesecake and brownie for desserts and it was all delicious!
Elegant dining experience. Delicious food. Staff are friendly and prompt. Great suggestions
We always have great food here, but last night we had the pleasure to be served from Darlene, what a great experience. Darlene was fabulous and made our dinner experience 5 star. She had the whole restaurant smiling and laughing. I would recommend this place to all my friends and family, and look forward to our next visit back.
Shay and Donna were excellent hosts for our meals.
Just returned from an amazing meal. Husband had the Beef Wellington and I had the Oscar Tenderloin and both were amazing!! Special thanks to our wonderful waitress (Sharol) who provided great service and made our evening more enjoyable!
Weve eaten here before, but this visit we had breakfast instead of dinner. Absolutely amazing eggs benedict with fresh fruit. Our server was lovely and the restaurant is very charming with historic elements to it. My husband had the breakfast BLT with fruit and was very pleased with his meal also. Thank for the lovely service, as usual I ate my food too fast and forgot to take a photo.
More life and action at a funeral home and prices are nuts .This at 5:45 pm on Saturday in July.It is just over priced and dead here No hospitality here no asking if you would like second drink after half hour staff needs shirts that says do not disturb.one family of 4 waiting to get inbut no staff will acknowledge them ànd not one custumerin restaurantjust 3 staff trying to hide
Had dinner and breakfast during our recent stay. Food and drinks were excellent and the service was great.
Went for brunch on a Sunday, the restaurant only had a small handful of people in it. Our food took extraordinarily long to get to our table (~40 minutes), and our server never came to fill our coffee even once, we had to wave her down just to get her to fill it. The food was also pretty poorly made, if Im being honest. Everything seemed quite pre-prepared which only made the long service even more odd. Overall Id recommend going elsewhere, the spa also makes the restaurant smell a lot like the pool, making for a pretty unpleasant experience overall. Was pretty disappointed we chose to make this our morning stop.
Had a wonderful dinner here. Our server Polly was such a delight. She made sure we were well taken care. The food is delicious. Looking forward to our next here. Highly recommend.
Food was great, hostess waitress was great, not anything to complain about.
Our server was very good. We had a corner to ourselves, which made for a private dining experience. We ordered the chicken wings as our server mentioned a long wait time for our entrees. They were ok, with a basic hot sauce drizzled over. The bread and flavoured butter which was brought out was much tastier. I felt the menu was fairly limited - I had the cornish hen and my husband had the ravioli. They were not large portions, but the flavours were good. There were only three desserts to choose from, so we chose to go elsewhere. Overall, the food was good, the location was convenient...but I wouldnt make an effort to return.
We stayed a night with our 3 kids at the Temple Gardens and received a free breakfast voucher for 2 so naturally we thought wed come down here to eat for breakfast. When we came down to the restaurant the first hostess informed us that they were busy but asked how many of us there were and told us to come back in 40 minutes. We came back and it was a different hostess who informed us that they were too busy and to come back in an hour. She had a very poor and condescending attitude as well. We ended up checking out of the hotel and eating elsewhere. I understand that places get busy but I feel that if we were told to come back after a certain period of time they should have put in an effort to accommodate us and more importantly, speak to us in a respectful manner.
Hands down the best steak I ever had! I had the Beef Wellington. Perfect. I had it delivered to my room. Amazing service. I love this hotel, everyone was great. I recommend this hotel and service.
Great service, pleasant server as well as manager. The server was attentive and very friendly. The portions served were on the larger size which worked to the pricing. Overall, would return to this restaurant.
Disappointed with the service or lack there of. Staff refused to acknowledge that we were waiting to be seated. After 10 minutes we left.
Excellent food and service...thank you
Waitress was spacey and kept forgetting to bring things she said she would bring, but at least she was friendly so the service was still far better than the food. Honestly I ve had more flavorful burgers at McDonald s. Or at home for that matter, and I m no burger cook. Definitely not made in house, probably Walmart brand patties and not even seasoned AT ALL. The chippers weren t flavored at all either, completely bland. The French fries were the only thing we ordered that tasted good. Hardly a saving grace though when the food portion of the bill is over $30.
Lack of service , and very poor food quality. Potatoes rock hard, way to much rosemary, and otherwise flavorless. Atmosphere does not match hotel. Best part was my orange juice and looking at the pictures on the walls ( of the few that are there) . Will not go back to the restaurant. Which is sad for me as this was my first time at the hotel and to moose jaw .
Great food good service
Fantastic restaurant. Meal was a little overdone originally and they immediately replaced it with one done to my liking.
We love coming to moose jaw and this is one of our favorite restaurants. We just had their mushroom ravioli and steak with shrimp and Saskatoon berry smoked ribs. All of it was perfectly cooked and sooooo delicious!!!! The ribs were a tiny bit on the dry side but thats maybe because they are smoked. Were definitely ordering the ravioli again and the steak.
Waitress was wonderful, she was busting her but trying to work all the tables, I think by herself... 45 mins later we got buns with our water. I asked about the food 1 hour into our spa like adventure. The food was brought out. It wasnt terrible but Ive had better at the Keg and for lower prices. Really disappointing waiting and waiting and it being expensive and not that good. Not the fault of the waitress, but whoever the manager of that restaurant is should be fired. Terrible experience dont waste your hard earned money or time. How can you have a full restaurant with 1 waitress
The waitress was wonderful however it was herself and one other person looking after all the tables. I ordered the salmon dish and it was delicious however my husband ordered the steak and he was not impressed especially for the price. We waited 45 minutes to get bread over an hour to get our meal. I do not recommend.
Great place, Great food, Great people.
Very nice and clean restaurant. Good service and very good food.
Great breakfast.
Excellent, the service and the food.
Limited menu but the food was delicious and the service was attentive.
4 small pieces of banana bread swimming in syrup was not the best for breakfast. Wont be going back there.
I had the fish and chips
The food was amazing! I was in absolute heaven with every single bite. We had the salmon and Parmesan risotto, second night we had the pizza. Amazing Chef, amazing tastes.
Not cheap, but the food was really good. Lamb entree, calamari appetizer, and one Caesar was $60+ before tip.
Amazing food, great wine & our server Darlene was absolutely delightful!
Excellent service. Delicious beef wellington!
Nice quiet fine dining experience. Had the beef Wellington with a French onion soup to start. Staff was super helpful and the meat was so tender that we didn t even need a steak knife. Surprised with the 3.4 star review - we very much enjoyed our night. 5 stars from us. Would recommend and will be going again.
Bought a add-on for supper and breakfast as a package for our anniversary night away. Enjoyed the food the sevice was excellent, made for a really nice evening.
Overpriced somewhat disappointing Fathers day brunch- server was great tho- I wont go back
We payed for a COLD turkey dinner... Just to start Jade was a good server. It is not her fault that our Thanksgiving was so tarnished tonight. We made reservations for 6pm the day before and double checked our reservation a few hours before. When we arrived our drinks were brought quickly. Our food however was not. We waited an hour and 20minutes. And when our food did arrive it was COLD!!! Yes COLD FRICKEN COLD. how does it take 1.2 hours to make cold food. We had ordered the special tooo...... will not return!! The manager still made us pay!! the worst thing is that this is the first Thanksgiving my mom and I have had since her brain surgery and it ment alot to us. So sad we spent it waiting for cold food.
Was expecting an upscale dining experience. When we arrived for 6pm reservations the menu was more of a lunch menu than a tablecloth dinner. Although there was 4 entree choices of which they only had three.. the menu online was completely different and was told that it takes 3weeks to change menu online. Was expecting to spend 350-400 on a decent dinner but instead the business received 100. The baked tortellini was topped with cheese just melted. A quality check and beverage refill is to much to ask for with empty plates sitting in front of us for 15min. so if you do go, go with low expectations. THANKS FOR LUNCH AT DINNER TIME... WILL NOT RETURN
Ridiculously overpriced for inconsistent and not very tasty food- will never return! I think the chefs are trying to simulate 5 star cuisine, but unfortunately they fall far short of the that!
Very good food. Service was fast and friendly. Higher prices, but its what youd expect at an expensive hotel/spa
Great presentation, but food quality falls short. Limited gluten free knowledge.
We went there for lunch while visiting the mineral poo food was decent, though slightly overpriced for what you get. The service was aweful! Youd have though we were there at peak lunch time with a line up out the door the way they rushed us through our meal and out the door. We were there at 1:30, and there was only one other party at the restaurant, which is open until 4 for lunch, so I dont know what they weew trying to accomplish by rushing us out of there. With so many other restaurants in walking distance from the hotel, you would think that they would try a little harder to impress the few peiple who do eat there.
Average food and wine selection. Average ambience for restaurant of this caliber. Saved by excellent service.
We had great service and all enjoyed our meals..especially dessert!
Good breakfast. The breakfast bowls are the best.
Excellent breakfast food for a reasonable sum. I highly recommend the West Coast Benny.
The food and service are nice.
Service was excellent. The farmers salad was good but the steak sandwich that we ordered wasnt cooked right and kinda bland as well.
Very friendly staff. Meal was great. Would come back again.
Been here a few times, not very good service. This time around around 3pm looking for a bite to eat. Hungry just got into town. The dining room isnt open. The lounge is, but we have an underage person in our party. I just wanted to eat, dont serve us alcohol I dont get the big deal. Nope not the case. No service.
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED Drove to Moose Jaw this evening as we have done many many evenings to have dinner here. We loved coming to this resturant for the last 3 - 4 years for the amazing food. I CANT believe they changed their menu so drastic! The menu now resembles a cheap food chain restaurant . Not sure who or why they did what they did but diffiantly not worth the drive. We could have stayed in Regina if we wanted an original Joes or brewhouse menu to choose from.
Superb steak and excellent service at a fair price!
I had the worst meal I have ever ordered..they had to replace my steak as if was so though I couldnt even cut it with a steak knife...they have fancy names for everything so not sure what you are ordering and the prices are away too high...The staff are wonderful and very accommodating...so not all was lost except I will never go back there..
great sunday brunch with a lot of options.
Worst food I have ever tasted. Meal took for ever. Never going there again.
Just thought I would put in my 2 cents worth. , Harwoods we ordered and waited for our meal The staff was very friendly and helpful, although the lighting was very poor (someone with poor sight could not see in there), the food... Was very bland, there was absolutly no taste to it what so ever, it was like someone forgot to season the food. the wifes meal was the almost the same way except it was over-seasoned. This was the most disapointing meal we have ever had in our life. I hope they get a new chef there or something because Ive heard it was a very upscale restaurant. My recomendation... Do not go there until they have figured out how to cook & season the food.
