“I had an amazing experience at Hopkins Dining Parlour! The atmosphere was charming and full of character, perfectly blending its historical roots with a cozy and inviting vibe. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we felt welcome and well taken care of throughout the meal. The food was absolutely delicious—everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into every detail. I would highly recommend Hopkins Dining Parlour to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. I can’t wait to return!”
I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my husband's birthday at Hopkins Dining with a group of close friends. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like honored guests. The service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and truly dedicated to ensuring every detail of our evening was perfect. One of the standout features of Hopkins Dining is the ambiance. The live music added such a special touch, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made the celebration even more memorable. The musicians were incredibly talented, and the music beautifully complemented the evening without being overwhelming. What truly sets Hopkins Dining apart is the unique charm of the house itself. Not only were we able to explore its beautiful spaces, but the staff also arranged a guided tour for our group. It was fascinating to learn about the history and character of the house, adding a delightful layer to our dining experience. Hopkins Dining gave us more than just a meal; they gave us an unforgettable evening. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a fantastic dining experience, I can’t recommend them enough. This will certainly be a night we’ll talk about for years to come!
Excellent food and atmosphere. Got a tour of the whole building from Linda after out meal and it was fantastic. So interesting to hear all of the history. Definitely recommend!
I have a perfect night at Hopkins. Foods, singers, services are excellent. The owner Linda, took me to the every corner of this restaurant, btw should I say this is a restaurant or a historical landmark?😆 Cuz she’s so nice and energetic to show all of the unique antiques in this place. I love it. I will definitely recommend here to everyone!
A unique experience in a historic building. Great service and even had the privilege of getting a Guided tour with an account of the history of the antiques and previous owners. Even a special treat for our anniversary:)
Hopkins Family Parlour is nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment you step inside, you are transported to a bygone era of elegance and charm. The dining area, adorned with a stunning chandelier and rich wood accents, feels like an old high-end ballroom, making the experience akin to dining in a museum. This place is a true time relic, and it deserves recognition as a historical site for Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and Canada. Now, onto the food. The Cajun Chicken Fettuccine was excellent—perfectly cooked pasta with just the right amount of spice and a rich, creamy sauce that left me wanting more. Every dish was prepared with such care and attention to detail, showcasing a culinary expertise that is hard to find. Despite the grandeur of the environment, the portions were a bit on the smaller side, but the quality more than made up for it. The juxtaposition of the grand decor and the intimate scale of the dining experience created a unique and memorable atmosphere. Highly recommend Hopkins Family Parlour for anyone looking to enjoy a meal in a place that feels like a piece of living history.
My teenagers and I had a great time enjoying the experience here and trying to spook each other. I’ve been here many time but it’s been quite a few years. This is the first time we’ve been given a full tour of the Hopkins house and told all about the amazing architecture/items/history (thank you Linda!). It was wild and we loved it. We ordered pretty basic food but the fries, wings, and chicken fingers were a hit!
We celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary at Hopkins and we were glad we did. Our server, Debbie, was amazing and made our evening special. After a delicious meal, Greek stuffed chicken breast, we were given a tour of the Victorian home along with the 'ghost' stories and a song in the player piano. When we returned to our table, the staff came in with a dessert and a rendition of.' I can't help falling in love with you…' When in Moosejaw, highly recommend dinner at the Hopkins dining parlor.
This place is amazing!!! Such a unique experience dining in such an old house with so many antiques. Linda gave us a tour of the place and you can tell how passionate she is about the restaurant! The food is delicious too. I highly recommend this place.
The food was very good, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We enjoy the free tour from Linda.
Everything is amazing here. Tour is a must see. Great dining experience.
Food is insanely delicious, service is so kind and speedy and overall everything feels inviting and enjoyable
We just visited Hopkins Dining Parlour and we were thoroughly impressed. Debbie, our server , was very knowledgeable in the history of the house and took us on a thorough tour. These people are invested and passionate about where they work and the history it holds. Dinner was served quickly and to our satisfaction.would definitely recommend!
We came here as a hockey team, an hour plus wait time for raw food, 4 kid got food poisoning from undercooked food. Other than that most of the food was good just undercooked
I am on business traveling to MJ once upon tonight.Googled and found the restaurant. It surprised me! Kid-friendliness: Kids menu is very friendly
Lovely place . Great food. Had an excellent time at their Medieval night.
Superb, had a great meal and a tour of the house. Such a nice place.
Great atmosphere and history in this building. The short comings are the food, service and cleanliness. The food was cold, dated, over priced and cold. Took 1.5 hours for supper on a weekday. The old carpets are gross and the general tidiness and cleanliness is poor. The history of this building is awesome and it s got a great back story. But it needs some help. It could be on an episode of kitchen nightmares
Excellent food. Pricier place to eat but food quality is worth it. Very quick service. Waitress was attentive. Will be back.
The food was fantastic. Service was perfect. The tour of the historic house by Linda was next level. Her passion and knowledge were second to none. A true Moose Jaw and Saskatchewan treasure.
We had a great time! Food was excellent and the tour at the end was icing on the cake. Cool to eat dinner in such a historical building.
I went last night to the Hopkins 45th anniversary party because after working there for nearly a decade, as the maître d at Top of the Parlour, I thought it would be a good night to go there, have a few cocktails some appy s, and perhaps meet up with some friends, from back in the day. Well, It was not only one of the busiest nights of their year, but I ran into so many friends, that I enjoyed with some of the perfectly prepared cocktails & appetizers, that Hopkins is renowned for. I will be back soon for the full meal deal. And of that, I can assure you.
Wonderful service, great food and ambience and Linda gave us a fantastic tour of the historic building.
First time visitor from Ontario and friend recommended as a nice dinner out. Loved the historical look of the house and the ambience once inside was cozy and charming. Food was excellent and server (Linda) amazing and so friendly. Her enthusiasm for the house was infectious. When she offered a tour we gladly accepted. Did not disappoint. So much history to this house. Great evening and cant wait to return.
Came from New York and have had my fair share of out of the box experiences in restaurants before but honestly this was the best out of all. Linda was so incredibly genuine in her work and demonstrated such passion especially while giving a tour. If I do get the opportunity to visit again it will be a top priority to dine at again.
Great restaurant!!
Excellent dining experience. Great food, the Saskatoon pie and ice cream for dessert was delicious. The service was superb. Linda gave us a full tour of the restaurant. She explained so much about the history of the house, previous owners, furniture. Totally recommend going to Hopkins if you are ever in Moose Jaw, SK
Not just a meal, an experience! The food is really good, but what sets this place apart from other quality restaurants is the service and especially the atmosphere. The antiques, the pool table in the basement, the way you re encouraged to walk around and look at everything make sure to get a post-meal tour!
We are tourists from Winnipeg visiting Moosejaw and glad we found Hopkins Dining Parlour when searching for fine dining experience. The food was delicious (we ordered steak, trout, chicken wings, turtle cheesecake and rosé wine). The interior of the restaurant is really impressive so make sure to join a tour by Linda after your meal. We almost did not because our server didn t offer us a tour but good thing Linda was just starting a tour with other customers as we were about to leave and she invited us to join. I m very glad we got the tour or we would not have seen the beautiful second and third floors. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends and we ll be back here for sure next time we visit Moosejaw.
Went on a Friday in the fall which means it was medieval night! Should have participated because it was kinda slow otherwise, but super fun environment haha.
If you re coming to Moose Jaw - Treat yourself! The food is amazing- this is more then just a meal but an experience. So much history here.
This place looks so cool unfortunately due to the amount of shellfish that was on their menu I decided against eating there as I was concerned about my health being allergic to any kind of shellfish. So unfortunately I cant give a review on the food. However the lady that greeted us out the door was fantastic and allowed us to take a look around the place and see what the place was all about and its absolutely cool I highly suggest people stopping in and taking a look. I would suggest eating there if youre not allergic to shellfish. Giving my allergies if I did not have those allergies I absolutely would have stayed and had a meal. Absolutely an amazing historic place. Check it out you wont be disappointed
Came in for a date on a weekend in town. Shared the escargot stuffed mushrooms, partner has the stuffed sole and I had the Cajun Chicken Alfredo. Food was amazing, the place is beautiful, and the service was excellent. Absolutely incredible experience!!
Great food and atmosphere. We really enjoyed our meal at Hopkins, the stuffed sole was especially good!
The service was great! The food was delicious! The best part may have been the tour afterwards, Linda us extremely knowledgeable and knows so much of the history of the Hopkins House and of the work done to create the restaurant, she had a ghost story or two to share as well! Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu available. My kids loved the food and enjoyed the tour after!
Wow!! We went for a birthday supper and got way more than we expected. Linda was an excellent host, we quickly learned the passion she has for the history of the Hopkins home. After our delicious Lemon Chicken dinner she gave us a tour of the home, sharing the history of this wonderful old home. She was extremely gracious with her time and her passion and enthusiasm were obvious. Ask for a tour to see what the old home has, very interesting. And to top it all off is a great fine dining style of meal.
We celebrated a Family Wedding in September 2024. It was a Fabulous Experience!!! The food was Tasty, Plentiful and served in a Timely Manner. The two Gals, Kim and Debbie, went Above and Beyond anything we expected. Theyre beautiful singing voices added a touching sentiment to the evening. The Historic Atmosphere was both informative and comfortable. The Hopkins House is, now, on the top of everyones list to enjoy many more times!! Dont miss this Gem in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan!!! Enjoy a Lunch or an Exceptional Evening!!! Kid-friendliness: The kids, ages 5-14, had a Blast looking for The Ghost, exploring the Unigue Gift Shop and playing Pool!!!
Great service and what an incredible atmosphere. Linda even gave us a tour of the house, which was much bigger than expected. Definitely worth checking out.
We had an absolutely incredible meal and what made it the most special was the enthusiasm that Linda shared in the history of the home. She gave us a tour that explained every detail of the house, furniture and artifacts, and was completely passionate about the history of the home. Highly recommend this.
Very enjoyable. nice ambiance. great service. Owner, Linda gave us a great tour along with detailed history of Hopkins & the building.
Hopkins Family Parlour is an understated treasure that offers an unforgettable dining experience. Stepping into this restaurant feels like entering a museum, rich with history and charm. One of the standout features is the working player piano, a rare find in Canada. Additionally, the 450-year-old dining piece from Germany is a testament to the rich history embedded in every corner of this place. If you re passing by on Highway 1, Hopkins Family Parlour is an absolute must-stop. This place alone is worth a detour to Moose Jaw. The owners are incredibly welcoming and offer free tours of the history behind the restaurant, making your visit both educational and delightful. The prime rib here is one of the best around, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The food, although on a smaller scale compared to the grand environment, is prepared with exceptional skill and attention to detail. The combination of extraordinary cuisine and historical ambiance makes dining here a unique experience. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates fine dining with a side of history. Hopkins Family Parlour is truly a hidden gem in Moose Jaw! Feel free to tweak any part of the review to better match your experience!
Beautiful, heritage building, cosy atmosphere, wonderful service, rustic food. Youd be doing yourself a huge disservice if you came by this place and didnt get the tour. Linda was an absolute gem and you can really tell. how passionate she is for the building and the business. She really went out of her way to show us around and make us feel welcome. Would 100% recommend to anyone staying in Moosejaw.
If you love historical buildings and a local feel coupled with good food, this is it. I had the best time, the people were kind and wonderful. Ending with a personal tour of the building by the incomparable Linda. Thank you for making my birthday one to remember. Request to sit in the parlour if you can (anywhere you sit is wonderful), its gorgeous and go play a game of pool in the basement if its not booked out.
Our meals were very good and service was excellent. Loved the carrot cake.
We had a family dinner here. The food and service are very good. If you have ever wanted to dine in a museum atmosphere, this is the place. Kid-friendliness: Kid menu available
We planned a trip to my hometown to show the in-laws around the great places of Moose Jaw, on the list was Hopkins. We book reservations for August long as we traveled from Edmonton to visit family, the person on the phone confirmed the reservation and when we showed up at 6pm they were closed after getting all dressed up. We were highly disappointed!!
Unique dining experience with history of Moosejaw.
Read about this renovated Victorian house that was very popular with the locals . Atmosphere was fantastic , the servers were fun/efficient , knowledgeable about the history of the house and delighted us with tales of friendly spirits still inhabitting the manor ...fun The meals were mouthwatering delicious . The prime rib and wings were a big favorite.
We had our anniversary here and the food was delightful! Ashley, our server was kind and even sang to us at the end. It was very sweet! Linda, the owner, gave us a tour of the house and told us all about its history. She was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and we loved the tour! Thank you for making our dinner experience so wonderful!! We will definitely be back!
Great food and amazing atmosphere! If youre looking for a historical tour after having a great meal, look no further than Hopkins Dining Parlour!
How charming! Loved this visit and especially the tour by Linda. Be sure to request a tour.
Food was amazing! Have been many times. We were given and tour and it was just wonderful! Will return over and over again!
Great food and loved the atmosphere and then was surprised with a guided tour of the house , amazing time
This was a wonderful dining experience! There were eight of us with a variety of menu choices. The prime rib was excellent, cooked to order as was the lemon dill chicken. Service was fast and the servers welcoming and friendly. Linda deserves a mention, offering to give us a tour of this lovely old historic (and haunted! ) home thats been converted to this one of a kind restaurant. She was informative and passionate about the history of this magnificent structure. We highly recommend Hopkins Dining Parlour!
Linda was an awesome waitress and tour guide. Very joyful and made our experience superb! Wonderful evening!
We had a very good experience. The food was awesome, server was amazing and the tour was very good. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Great food, super friendly staff. Linda gave us an excellent tour. This place is a must-see if youre visiting Moose Jaw!
We had a great experience, the service and the environment was amazing (ask for the tour). Food was good, felt like eating at my grandma s house.
Greatest experience in Moose Jaw ! If youre short on time, save yourself 20 bucks, skip the tunnels and go to Hopkins for the most dining experience Ive had in a long time. The food is adequate. Exactly what you would expect for the reasonable prices, but here is where things get fun. Our server Linda was the sweetest woman, such attentive service and friendly demeanor. After our dinner we went on a huge tour thought-out the home, learning history not only of the parlour but also all of Moose Jaw. Do not miss the chance for this experience on your visit.
Great food They also gave us a tour of the house which was awesome. Food
Excellent historical experience with delicious meal and great staff!
Pure joy . We had a wonderful meal and excellent service. Dietary restrictions: So many celiac safe choices. Food : 5/5 |
Great unique place! A definite must if in Moose Jaw.
Always a go to when in Moose Jaw!
You must go here!! The food is delicious!! The service is top-notch!! So much history!!
Had a lovely team lunch at Hopkins today! Make sure you ask Linda for the tour if you have some extra time. Lots of history!
My husband surprised me with a birthday dinner at Hopkins and it was incredible! What a beautiful venue with an impressive menu! After our delicious meal, Linda gave us a fabulous tour of the entire house, which is filled with so many beautiful antiques and incredible details. We will definitely be back for an entirely remarkable experience!
Haunted and delicious! Super friendly staff
It was very nice, the staff were great! They gave us a tour, and shared some of the haunted stories that they have, unfortunately we didn t see any paranormal activity it was still cool too be in a haunted restaurant The food is good and the atmosphere is cool! I would definitely recommend if you are visiting Moose Jaw!
Everything was fantastic! The food was homemade & delicious! The service was phenomenal, the gal was super friendly & welcoming. Would recommend 100%
Amazing service and 4$3 tortelli was yummy! The owner Linda took us in a tour after our meal and provided us with a tour of the home and filled us in on the history.
From the food, to the service, and the atmosphere in general was majestic and peaceful. The atmosphere gives you nostalgic vibes due to the calm collected music. To top it all of, with Linda getting my buddies a pasta, my other friend fries and burger, while I had my barbecue ribs in a timely manner. Overall, she and the other old lady grant my buddies with exciting energy by touring us the area.
Well against my better judgment to not go back here after my anniversary dinner was ruined by uncooked and somehow separated food to the waitress having a melt down at our table I went back anyway. Hey everywhere deserves another chance. With that said we paid 100.00 for two meals that we absolutely discusting. My husbands ravioli was cold and raw in places and his sauce was split and my sauce was split aswell as loaded with raw garlic chunks making it so bad and I love garlic. This at our table that ordered the prime rib had to have replaced with a different cut of meat as we found out 20 min after ordering and when they came they were not cook correctly. I just cannot try this place again until they get new kitchen staff as I cannot cook well but can make a simple Alfredo sauce.
Loved everything about this! It was our first time. The meal was amazing, best Long Island iced tea I ve ever had! Linda gave us a tour after our meal and we would have had no idea there was so much to this restaurant without it. Our server was sweet and very attentive. Great from start to finish! We ll definitely be back
Huge shout out to our server this weekend! We loved Debbie!! She was so good and really a great server and host to our very loud group!!
Was not impressed with the food for the cost . It was over priced for the amount that was given. But the waitress was amazing
Absolutely delicious food. The service was amazing with kind staff. You can tell that the owner has a lot of passion for this house. You get to eat and have a tour while youre waiting for your food or after youre done eating. I will be back for sure!
Weird that the only thing I hear about them is their tarot nights lately Went for dinner a bit back and wish we just ordered in a pizza instead. Also got sat in the back room and honestly I d rather be sat in a basement in any church in town-0 vibes.
My boyfriend and I had a date night at Hopkins a few weeks ago and we loved it! Its clear that the staff takes great care in all that they do, because the service was top tier, the food was delicious, and the tour of the home was a super fun little treat to finish off the evening. Definitely recommend for a unique dining experience in Moose Jaw!
Amazing experience! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced, I had the calamari appetizer, snow crab dinner and the Saskatoon Berry Pie . All very tasty .but the house WOW!! There are so many antique period pieces and historical artifacts within the house. Linda gave us a tour of all three floors and the basement and it was very interesting. Highly recommend you visit this restaurant!!!! I would definitely eat here again!!
We had a group of 12 people. Service was excellent. Linda offered us a tour of the house and we took her up on it. A great experience.
Was incredible, the personal service, tour, people & omg the food. We loved it!!!
The atmosphere is so warm, cozy, and home like! The preserved history of this house is incredible and there are so many details and stories to uncover! Linda, the owner, is an extraordinary tour guide and takes so much pride in the history of the home! Hopkins house is a MUST if you are in MooseJaw!!
It was such an amazing experience! The food was amazing and the owner Linda gave us a free tour after our meal. Such a great show of history and I could see how passionate Linda was about the house.
Such a wonderful experience! The atmosphere, food & staff are amazing! Linda you are one of a kind! Your tour was fabulous & your passion for the history of the house & previous owners was heartwarming!
Great service, delicious food, and an atmosphere that brings you back to a time of class and luxury. Great experience all around. Truly a can t miss experience.
This was such a cool experience. Linda gives a really informative , historical tour of the house. She was so friendly! Very interesting to hear the story of the original house. The food was good. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful dinner tonight. Our first time visiting Moose Jaw and the Hopkins Dining Parlour. Our food was delicious and we highly recommend having dinner there. Linda provided great service and provided us with a guided tour of the whole building.
This was my first time at Hopkins. The house is 3 stories of restaurant. Some of the tables are in great locations. We went for lunch. It was very good. Soup was homemade and very tasty. The wraps were a little thin but had lots of flavor.
Welcoming, super service, good food. A special part of the experience was the beauty of this grand home. Linda gave us a thorough tour & the rest of the staff were enthused about the property as well. We had a very nice evening.
Was an awesome experience!! Linda gives a very detailed tour of the house and explains the history!! Very unique way to spend a night out for supper!!
We had the best night! Came to celebrate a friends 35th birthday and Debbie our server made our entire weekend. Showed us a tour of the place our food was delicous, hot and fresh and came quickly.
What a great experience, Ask for a tour after your meal. Very neat! The history of the house is amazing. The food was alright.
Such a fun and unique experience. Linda gave a tour. It was great learning about the history of the house and her energy and passion was contagious.
Excellent service and food, amazing atmosphere. Linda was incredibly sweet, and offered a free tour of the building. The history behind the restaurant is amazing, its like a little museum! Food options are very affordable as well, definitely recommend to anyone looking for eating options in the city.
Awesome food. Server was both knowledgable and good service.
Best place to dine in moose jaw! Good food and good service ! Very unique history house ! Ask for free tour! Must see !!!! We will be back again!
Nice restaurant, too bad I spent 2.5 hours waiting for a meal I never got. Thank you to The owner who gave 30% off of the bottle I bought while I waited for the food I never received. Wife got fed up after 2.5 hours and we left.
Extremely disappointed with our latest Hopkins experience as it has been good in the past. We made a reservation for a group, and were seated in the basement which we didn t even know had seating . There was live music upstairs and no music could be heard in the basement. The stairs were treacherous going down and we had elderly people in our group. Uneven plastic tables were covered in table cloths and we sat in uncomfortable folding chairs so the atmosphere was lacking our usual experience. We then waited 45 minutes for a drink, and over 2 hours for our food. We would have been okay with the wait if the orders were correct and the quality was good. Several of our meals were messed up, not once, but twice. Everything came sporadically as several trips had to be done up and down stairs. Eventually we just swapped and settled amongst our plates, since others at our table were completing their meals. It was very expensive for the quality and value. The vegetables were cold, fish was overcooked, garlic toast was burnt. It was an extremely disappointing steak special for $40- very thin steaks were not cooked to order, and obviously a poor cut since it was very chewy and gristly. Our server tried to make up for the biggest kitchen mishaps by offering a free drink which we didn t even want because most of us were driving and the drink quality was also poor. There was significant lack of experience in service. If the restaurant wasn t able to accommodate our reservation with kitchen staff and servers then they shouldn t have booked it. We go out to enjoy ourselves and have a nice, fun experience. We don t spend $150/couple to be disappointed and annoyed. This was one of the worst experiences and poorest value we have had and we will not be returning. We re better off staying in next time and meal planning for 10% of what we paid.
The Hopkins Dining Parlour is a very unique and interesting dining experience. We had a very tasty steak dinner. It was absolutely delicious. Linda served us and also gave us all a tour of the 3 floors ( and basement as 4th floor) of the restaurant. We heard the history of this place and witnessed the passion Linda has in continuing the legacy of this dining parlour to make it very well known in the area and beyond ! Great job Linda ! XO Dietary restrictions: Has some GF options
Very pleasent staff, gave us a tour of the beautiful building after our amazing meal. Get the steak Yorkie
Fantastic time with family staff is super friendly better than family
Linda was wonderful! If youre going, ask her for a tour! Very knowledgeable!
Absolutely will be going back! We have been to Hopkins multiple times over the years and it wasnt great, but tonight we went and were pleasantly surprised! Linda, who is the new owner of Hopkins, is THE perfect person to take over. Her passion for history, for keeping Hopkins true identity and spreading joy made the experience wonderful. Our meals were delicious as well! One thing that I am so happy she offers is a free tour of this amazing part of Moose Jaws history after your meal - it truly is a beautiful place and there is SO much I didnt know about it. Highly, highly recommend! Thank you Linda!
It was amazing in June 2022 but now Jan 2023 its not at all. Portions are so tiny now. Salad served on a tea cup saucer which also held the paper dressing container not much room for salad so extremely small. No prime rib, cold dry mashed potatoes, i got maybe 1/2 tsp of butter for a baked potato, there was no saskatoon pie, the one dessert was freezer burnt. Our whole group was disappointed. Sad to see such a beautiful place go down hill.
Debbie was our server and made the whole dining experience fun. Food was delicious!
This was a fantastic experience. The service was incredible, food was good expensive smaller portions then expected but very versatile good. The atmosphere was incredible and we received a complete walk through which was unexpected but wonderful out of 10 I would rate as 8.5
Interesting decor and history makes this a must do while visiting Moose Jaw. Would be a 5 star but for the long wait times between drinks and the meal.
Can I give a zero? Seriously, gross. Really really bad. So outdated and not in a good way. Skip this place. Way too expensive and the food was the worst.
Very beautiful heritage site! Lovely place and owner was very friendly and we got to look around the place when our delicious meals were done. We had our 16 wedding anniversary there and it was awesome. I think more should go and take in some nice history!
Love dining here! Everytime we visit it s on the list. Sad the spinach dip has been removed from the menu, but if you ever get the chance to dine here, take the tour & enjoy the environment! Such a cool space!
Really beautiful old house with good quality food. Glad we chose this restaurant to celebrate my husbands birthday! It has a lovely atmosphere with good home-cooked food. We really enjoyed the mushroom pasta and stuffed sole. Will definitely be back next time we visit MJ.
Service is sub par no ice no follow up about a second drink salad was nonexistent food was not cooked right steak was under cooked no bread offered price was high for service and food
Portions are very small, and prices are very high for what you get. I would not consider this place fine dining any longer. Very disappointed with the place and wont ever go back.
Such an awesome experience! Everyone we encountered at this restaurant made the experience a one of a kind adventure. Heard some ghost stories and had an awesome tour of the house. Highly recommend checking out the Hopkins house for a unique dining experience!
Amazing, super nice
Delicious food. Great service. And awesome atmosphere.
A unique experience.
Even though the atmosphere was nice, our server was pleasant and efficient and the food was good, we found it over priced and left feeling disappointed. We will probably not go back.
The burger was juicy and delicious, with the perfect balance of flavors.
The atmosphere and waitresses are awesome-top notch- the food- not so much had a steak sandwich that was no thicker than the fork handle- and it was a flat fork, over cooked on a piece of garlic toast that was good. No veges but a nice sized baked potato plus one drink -$52!!!! The steak was not very good better at the local bar. But the stories from the waitresses were great and they were very friendly.
Love this cosy beautiful place. Staff are friendly and very professional. Very attentive. Foods are delicious. Will definitely come back again!

I ordered stuffed sole and ribs. They were really delicious!
I had an awesome experience here. The food is really tasty. Servers and managers are really accommodating!
Wings night here is the best! Juicy and tasty!
Nice customer service and fresh environment.
The steak i tried was way more delicious than I have ever tried. I met the prep cook and came to know he is one of the best in moose jaw. I am realy satisfied with the food and staff.
I went with my friends. We had a great time. We were one of three parties. We went later in the day. An employee let us tour the place and showed us a book with that a bullet went right through. Very interesting place to see and rich history. The food and service was excellent. Definitely a must see place!
I really like the service and the food here! Perfectly cooked steak and greek chicken! Will definitely come back!
Very good place to dine in. Excellent service provided.
It has tasty food and a really good ambiance! My friends and I enjoyed so much the awesome service!
My wife and I had steak and lobster my lobster came to table cold but I ate it anyway and later that night I got really sick . We will never eat there again .
I very much enjoy the restaurants wing Wednesday! The staff is also very kind, and the building itself has a lot of history which is an added interesting factor!
Rachel is still so engaging and personable. Friend of ours from Saskatoon recommended this place. We were greeted by Rachel and asked to sign in with our contact info. She then led us over to a two-person table by the window and the heater. She brought us waters to start and the lunch menus. She told us the specials and took our drink order. My wife had the spicy chicken and avocado wrap with broccoli cheese soup. I ordered the open-faced roast beef sandwich with fries. As we were waiting for our meal, we took the opportunity on Rachels recommendation to have a look-around. We found a lot of interesting pieces of art and stained glass during our self-guided tour. This old Victorian style home is deceiving as to its total size. There was an addition put onto it, where the current kitchen resides. If there were no social distancing requirements, they have seating for over 300 (on four levels). This includes the basement. (I wouldnt want to be a server having to negotiate those stairs with meal orders) After we sat down, our orders arrived and they were most delicious and filling. We want to send out a large hearty thanks to Rachel and crew for a most enjoyable, engaging and delicious meal.
What a gem of a resteraunt in Moose Jaw sask!! Great atmosphere. Food was great! Rachel was a fantastic and fun server. Will be going back whenever we visit again!
Just had a great dinner! Food tasted AHmazing. Our server Racheal was so fun. Exploring this beautiful, massive old house was pretty neat. So grateful for this experience!
Great place to est! Food was amazing..well worth the extra penny. Get there early to take a minute to visit this old house. Looks like a great place to have a wedding or social. Great service from Rachel and sea food Alfredo was delish fyi
The house is old and with a lot of character and history. The decor on the first floor is a mixture of antiques and wooden tables. The staff are very friendly and do a good job. They are very attentive. The portion sizes are just fine. The weakness of the place is the kitchen. My food was not med-rare as requested but med-well to well done. My wife s crab was ice cold at one end and didn t taste as fresh as it should. I feel sorry for the front of house. They work so hard only to be let down by a poorly run kitchen or chef.
I have been to Hopkins in the past and found it to be an excellent dining experience however I was very disappointed this time. The place seemed run down and dirty. The food was ok but not great for the price you pay. I ordered seafood linguine. Some of the mussels were not opened. The waitress did bring me more when I told her about it. The waitress was very friendly and pleasant. I believe she was the owner.
Sorry to say that Hopkin s restaurant in Moose Jaw used to be a very good place to eat but not anymore. We went there for a birthday supper and ended up very disappointed. My husband had the supposedly jumbo shrimps that was on special and got the smallest one they could served the size of loonie and overcook and overpriced. His seafood platter contained mini jumbo shrimps again , mussels and some of them were served non open which is poison . Crabs legs were very small in size and small portion ,my husband mentioned it to the waitress at the end of the meal and her response was they were bigger than that yesterday but he received the same amount as if they were big . For myself i ordered a 8 oz prime rib med rare and received well done instead no au jus for the beef to dip in and again not too happy . If you want to eat something good for sure on the menu order their ribs and chicken tenders the birthday girl was happy with it . The only reason we gave $20 for the tip is they gave the birthday girl a free piece of pie at the end which was very good. We will not be back there again GoodBye
We should have known when the place was empty on a Friday night. $28 for 7 pieces of tortelli is horrible. Pasta is cheap. No excuse for that. Left hungry. Also got a mojito without mint! Lovely building. Horrible and very little food.
Always friendly and helpful! Love the atmosphere and their local connections.
The beautiful layout provides a key talking feature. Spacious and with old world comforts it is a place to visit. The staff are very friendly, though we felt as though we were forgotten about a couple of times and the food was quite good. Definitely a place to impress those youre with.
I have high expectations when I pay this much but the food here was nothing special. I understand charging lots for crab (and seafood in general) especially in the prairies as it s not easily accessible. But $55 for less than a handful of meat, and tiny side dishes - blows my mind. For the other dishes, $15 is a pretty typical price for calamari, although other places typically have more on the plate. The orange creamsicle drink was tasty, like a slightly creamy orange juice, with no vodka taste. The strawberry cheesecake was good, very sweet, creamy, and slightly sour/tangy. I do however wish that it had much more of a crust, and more strawberry. Overall: charming place but overpriced, with small serving sizes.
The food was fantastic, the atmosphere is incredible, and the only thing that was better was the amazing staff that went out of their way to teach us all the fun history of the house. (Williams, Colorado USA)
The food has been disapointing the past half year, I prevoiusly gave Hopkins a 5 star review, now a 3 and only because Kim and the waitress team are so fantastic, to bad about the food, hope they can fix it.
Absolutely fantastic experience. Food is still as amazing as ever and it waitress Debbie made the night incredible. She was funny and friendly as if part of the family. Thanks to her and everything else this night was amazing!!!
We had dinner again a couple of days ago and it was very good. I had stuffed sole and Saskatoon pie. Both were excellent. We were also given a tour of this beautiful historic house. A unique historic home turned into a restaurant. There is something for everyone on the menu as there is a selection of steak, seafood, ribs, chicken and other items. I had cajun steelhead trout, it was quite good but a bit too salty.
The food was decent but not much for what you pay for and im sure hoping it was an off night because the service was absolutely horrible and unless you had a table of 4 or bigger they wanted nothing to do with you. Big shout out to Justin whos only a food runner there and it was his last night and he became our server and did way better then our actual server. Hopefully next time Im in town itll be better
Enjoyed a lovely meal out on patio last week. We were served quickly, food and drinks were delicious and the pricing was very reasonable. We will definitely recommend this business to others .
Super friendly and attentive staff! The menu is diverse enough to eat formal or casual and has the most unique seating/table arrangement ever. We enjoyed the atmosphere and although nothing spooky ever happened whilst there, we greatly appreciated the personal tour through the house explaining the history and uniqueness. Fabulous dinner with drinks - we even convinced our attendant to try scotch and brandy for the first time! We will be back to give it another go!!!
Very cool place. Awesome service. Friendly server. Excellent food
You should definely go if you can. Amazing place.
We were visiting moosejaw on our pre-honey moon and found this lovely gem while out on a walk! The next day we stopped in. We were worried that we had come too late to serve (8:10PM, as they close at 9) , but our server Kim made us feel so welcome and seemed genuinely delighted that we were there! She told us a bit of the spooky history and gave us the opportunity to look around while we waited for our food. The house was incredible! So many beautiful details in the wood works and windows around the home. The food was served so promptly that we didnt even have time to finish the tour! We had such a great time ! Furthermore, the food was absolutely delicious. We could tell it was made by someone who takes true pride in their work-- truly perfection! We cant wait to come back again soon. Thank you Kim & chef, for such a great experience!
It was a great time the server was very friendly and made sure our drinks were always full.
The food was absolutely delicious and the staff went above and beyond and showed us how amazing the house really was. Thank you so much
Honestly, its way better than 5 stars. We were told about this place a couple of hours before and decided to walk over and check it out. It was amazing. The staff were extremely polite, and when she found out it was our first time at the restaurant, she mentioned a little of the history of the house the restaurant is in and offered a tour of the house. The food is definitely worth it. After the staff gave us the longer version of the history she previously touched on, we were able to explore the whole house. The history and the historical items in the house were awesome. A definite place for drinks and appetizers with amazing atmosphere, a relaxing fine dining experience with family or your significant other. I would love to come back another time.
Spooky food never tasted so good
This is a beautiful historic restaurant. Our server was lovely and they let us explore the restaurant so we could take in all the little flourishes. It does feel very haunted.
We walked in randomly when we were in Moose Jaw and had a great experience at this wonderful place. Make sure you order the Yorkies!
The food and service was excellent! Such a cool atmosphere. The little bar area is awesome. Great vibes! And ghosts! Lol. We ll definitely go back.
Wish I could give 6 stars, great tour!
Wonderful hostess, Rachel!!! Very informative. Great food too
Our server was so incredibly personable, knowledgeable of the history of the home and totally made our experience!
Loved it here! My family and I came in for dinner and got an unexpected tour of the place as well! Beautiful place, good food, and nice people. Highly recommend the zucchini noodles and the peanut butter cheesecake . Made our one night stay in Moosejaw 10 times better.
Great food and super friendly staff.
An amazing experience, definitely will be coming back when we come through Moose Jaw! The interior of the house is well preserved from decades ago, filled with antiques! Calamari is the best you can find, snow crab and trout were both very delicious. Lots of menu options and an extensive cocktail list as well. Our server was exceptional! Very passionate about the history of the house and since we were the only 2 there she gave us a tour of all 4 floors! Also a haunted location, the server told us her own experience and some of her co workers. Its more than a restaurant, its also a hidden museum!
We were there at the end of August and it was great. The historic building in which the restaurant is located is truly unique. The waitress was very friendly and gave us a tour of the whole house. It was almost like being in a museum. We also heard a lot of ghost stories that took place in this old house. Vegetarian options: There are only a few vegetarian dishes, but the veggie burger was very good.
Fantastic food and fabulous service! Love this place!
A group of us went to enjoy the food and atmosphere. We were surprised to get more than expected. Our server, Linda, was amazing! Not only did we have stellar service, she offered to give us a tour at the end of our meal. Food was delicious, reasonably priced, and timely.
Food was so so, we had the Yorkies and it was barely warm.

I recently went back to visit Moose Jaw and we had to go to Hopkin s as it was a favorite place to go growing up. The waitress was very friendly and sang to people who were celebrating birthdays or anniversaries and allowed us to walk around the establishment while we waited. Food came quickly and was cooked well and was delicious. The only complaint I had is they no longer have grasshopper pie on their dessert menu. Highly recommend
The food was absolutely delicious - every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor and impeccably prepared. From the appetizers to the main courses, the culinary expertise truly shined through. The presentation was stunning, and the portion sizes were just right. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall dining pleasure. The interior design is inviting, creating a cozy and charming atmosphere. The tour that Linda gave us perfectly complemented the dining experience. What truly elevated our visit was the outstanding service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and well-versed with the menu. They were happy to make recommendations and accommodated our preferences with a genuine smile. Their prompt service made the entire evening seamless and enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking a delightful culinary journey. Its the perfect blend of delicious food, a charming ambiance, and exceptional service. We cant wait to dine here again when we are in Moose Jaw!
If youre in Moose Jaw and looking for a dining experience that combines great food, a wonderful atmosphere, and exceptional hospitality, this is the place to be. I cant wait to return and savor another unforgettable meal in this charming setting.
Though the service and tour was wonderful. Sadly the food just wasnt what we expected for the price.
I go here because the food is delicious but also because of Minnie s ghost stories!
It was like being in grandmas basement at the little kids table
Tonight my wife and I decided to have prime rib we have had it here many times and has been excellent well it wasn t tonight a microwaved prime rib is not what I was expecting! The best part of the meal was the garlic potatoes. I m so sorry I love this place but tonight very disappointed.
The food was delicious but what made it even better was the interaction with the staff!! Sonny and Cher made the night!! The best customer service!! Well done Hopkins team!!
Great place if you enjoy Canadian history!!! Amazing food. Perfect service. learnt lord about the building and the stories it has to share Food
We visited Hopkins after hearing fun ghost stories about it and could not have been happier to have done so! The food was amazing, and our server (Deb I believe was her name) was so friendly and personable - we bantered back and forth like old friends! The house itself is incredibly stunning and has an air about it that just feels homey. It also gives a bit of a thrill thinking about its haunting atmosphere. There is a cute little shop in the front with unique hand crafted items and other goodies for sale. There are so many options on where to dine, I want to visit more to experience every single place setting! If you visit Moosejaw, make sure to give Hopkins a try! You wont regret it!!
We were given a tour of the restaurant. It was awesome.
Very nice place to have supper! Nice environment, very good service . Will be back again!
Very unique and awesome place. The food was awesome . Linda was so cheerful and very friendly get to know lot of interesting and historical information about this place.
Very friendly place. Had a nice chat with Linda, the owner. In a 1905 character house, turned restaurant. Interesting menu, pleasant atmosphere. Food
Absolut amazing, feels like home, the service is so nice and the food is just amazing,
Our server was amazing and adorable. youre also allowed to explore the building and bring your drink! Definitely check out the ballroom!
Awesome place to celebrate our 16th anniversay - thanks Kim for making it special
Appys came out without silverware but we got it. Salad was brought out with meal. Asked for salt and pepper and never got it but watched server walk by with it in her hands. Got asked twice about dessert menu after declining 1st time
I could wrote a very long review on how horrid this place is but I don t want it taking up anymore of my time, so highlights below: 1. Broken A/C 2. 80s music blaring 3. Prime rib ordered rare came greyish throughout 4. Caesar salads with no dressing 5. Gluten free food with non gf buns and crumbs on top of it 6. Lobster dish came with about 1tbsp of lobster covered in burnt cheese. Not worth time or money, not like it used to be.
Waitress was great food OK the place was great spot for a diner.
Super nice service. Great food and great place with many history stories. Great place to bring friends and family. Definitely gonna bing family again.
Atmosphere is relaxed, treated like extended family. Food was amazing, I had a rack of ribs and fries, and the ribs just fell off the bones like nothing. Also had the Georgia peach cocktail and holy wow was it amazing. The house itself is magnificent, each room is beautiful. My wife and I walked around the place and we were entranced by the ballroom hall in the back. The entire house is filled with beautiful furniture (some dating back over 400 years old). But this establishment is timeless. As I stated above, the servers are super nice. They somehow caught wind that we were on our honeymoon and brought us a slice of cheesecake, and let me say, it was amazing. But be warned, they re generous when serving you, cause it was huge.
Stopped in for a drink ended up having some amazing appetizers and turned into dinner reservations. The lady severing us was a delight. The history of the house and just the atmosphere of the old place was definitely worth it
The Prime Rib Yorkies where absolutely awesome. My wifes Fettuccine was not very good. I can recommend one but not the other. Staff where running around, very busy but did their best.
The atmosphere is amazing..that was the only good thing..the rest was just plain sad..starting with Paralizer drink was curled..sent back..service was so slow..no napkins or cutlery given until we asked..do not oder the Escargos..they were cold..no flavor..the Potato skins were good..waited over an hour for main meal..when did arrive half was not our oder..food finally arrived..my meal was nothing like menu description..ran out of baked potatoes..needed to substitute..my meal was 32 dollars..and there was hardly any food on my plate..honestly think this is another restaurant falling victim to staff shortages..raising food prices and cutting back too much on quality and quantity..
The worst experience on Valentines Day! First of all after we were seated our server took twenty minutes to show up and take our order, and when she finally showed up she seemed like she had somewhere else shed rather be. She then finally gave us our menus and asked what we wanted to drink. We told her and that took another ten minutes to get our beverages She then asked if we were ready to order, she took our order and started venting about how busy its was a she was leaning on our table, and that she wished the day was over. I didnt come to visit the waitress, we came for a special Valentines day dinner. She finally brought the food, it made it to our table almost exactly an hour later..... I had chicken and the moose chips. The chicken was so dry it could barely swallow it and so were the moose chips. We stopped the waitress and let her know and her response was do you need some water?I said no! I cant eat this its so dry I cant even swallow it. The she walked away. I thought she was going to fix the problem, but no! She came back with our bill and asked if we wanted desert as she set the bill on the table and started walking away! I said excuse me! Can I at least get a to go container? She brought me the container and I reluctantly packed my over priced feed into the container then we headed down to pay the outrageous bill. As we were leaving my date turned to me and said We wont ever go there again! By this time all the restaurants were closing so for our Valentines day dinner we got to go back home to have kraft dinner....
TERRIBLE! Not the Hopkins of days past that we expected! At $45 per person average for our meals there was no table cloths & paper placemats. We had a reservation and they took us all over the restaurant before asking us to wait here upstairs then asked us to come back down to a table that had to be cleaned and set. The salads came on a saucer and looked like a no-name bagged salad. We had no napkins, no salt and pepper or condiments. The meals were absolutely forgettable and the portions less than 1/2 the size they used to be.. the mushrooms (add on with a charge) were forgotten and then when finally received had clearly been dumped out of a can and heated with no butter or seasoning. This is the first time in my life i have left a $0 tip on a $135 bill. Dont waste your time or money. We could have got better service and food at A&W
First time at this restaurant and very disappointed...serve was so slow and it was not very busy. For the amount of money that was spent $49 for a seafood platter that was served on a square side plate, was excepting more food - ordered a Dirty Martini which did not come dirty and was watered down! Also the server brings everyone drinks but my Martini, waited and waited, server said Martini would be a free - great I will have another - this Martini was also watered down and no free Martini. Not sure if I would go back as way overpriced, very small portions for what they charge and service was not that good.
Absolutely love this restaurant! Great food and exceptionally great service. Went Saturday morning with my mom and dad who were visiting from Saskatoon. I wanted them to experience this business as I was very pleased with it the first time I had went. We were nothing short of satisfied! I didn t happen to catch our servers name but she did mention she was from England. She gets 5 stars hands down!! Good customer service is hard to come by these days, so kudos to you! Thanks Hopkins for being a great go-to!
Great place great service. Debbie, Rachael, Linda and Kim were super friendly and provided excellent service. Be sure to ask about the history of the house, the ghosts who reside there and you may even get a tour of all four floors. The architecture of the home is truly amazing. The relaxed dining ambiance is further enhanced by the incredible period furniture. What a treat! I am visiting the prairies from Whitehorse and will always stop in Moosejaw to dine at Hopkins Dining Parlour. Oh yes! Don t forget to ask about the history of the Snowbirds adventures there and get an souvenir menu. Vegetarian options: Pasta and salads. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free available Parking: Street parking. Both sides of the street Kid-friendliness: Good menu options for the whole family.
Very cool unique experience and very pleasent staff. Like eating dinner inside the display at a museum.
My family came here, group of 12 and service was fantastic!! Considering the size of group was very impressed all our meals came out at the same time! The food was very good, portion sizes are decent. It is a bit expensive but the waitress was very friendly and volunteered to take us all on a tour of the whole house
Food was overcooked, only had a bit ....probably wont be back
Pros: Great drinks, really cool venue, very attentive and friendly server. Cons: The prime rib was flavourless.
Very slow service, cold food, way too expensive for bland food...
I am not from Moose jaw and I was looking for a restaurant, I pulled over on the side of the road and this place was just on the opposite side. I googled it and had to go in and give it a try. The restaurant wasn t busy. There was about four tables of about four people. Each, there was two waitresses. I stood at the front door and grabbed one of the menu to look at the food. I was noticing what the people were eating and watched the waitress deliver the plates of food to the tables. I looked at what I thought must be the chicken breast. Then I looked at the menu and saw a chicken breast. I SAW THE PRICE, $32 FOR HALF CHICKEN BREAST, ONE SCOOP OF RICE AND TWO CARROTS WITH A SPRIG OF ROSEMARY OR SOMETHING PARSLEY . I understand we are facing rising costs and everything is expensive. However, I have to leave a two star review after reading so many reviews about how overpriced this place is I could not resist and sharing my experience to Google
