Gave it Overall 3 stars The atmosphere was good, and the overall vibe was great. Service is good but could be improved. We were seated near the entrance, and servers were always near the cashier, so they dont see us raising up our hands because we needed something. The sushi roll we ordered took so much time to come even though there is one server who checks up on us and asked if we still have other food that we are waiting for, and we said yes. But still, our sushi roll didn't come quickly. Food, we ordered chicken karaage (very good highly recommended),garlic infused ramen. Which is also very good and tasty! I liked it! Lastly, volcano roll, which came up late, it took more than 30 minutes before it came. we already finished the ramen and chicken and still waited. It looks and tastes ok, but one thing I can't understand is that the sushi collapses when we are picking it up on the plate. It breaks apart even when we are using our hands. And I think the worst part is the amount of cucucmber inside the rolll! (Just see the picture). Almost 3/4 of the sushi is all cucumber, which is very disappointing. It's the first time I've eaten a sushi with this amount of cucumber inside!
NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT! The staff wasn't polite, except for the young lady who looks like Canadian-Filipino (I wish I knew her name). The rude one was the one with long dried yellowish-unhealthy hair. She looks like a little Chinese or Vietnamese woman. She kept staring at my friends and I with an attitude like we were bothering her. We're polite, and not loud. We just needed time to read through the menu before we ordered. Maybe, she was annoyed because we ordered lunch boxes rather than any other fancy menu in the restaurant? What was more disappointing was that we ordered hot drinks like coffee latte and other hot lattes to drink after our lunch. However after 10-15 minutes, the Japanese lady came and handed us the paper-cups, and said the restaurant ran out of mugs. Then, she asked us whether we're okay with that? We were shocked. What kind of restaurant is this? It wasn't even that busy, and we didn't even stay over 2 hours yet. We felt like she just wanted to chase us out. If the Japanese lady was the owner that was so inappropriate of her to treat my friends and I like that. Especially, I was the one who tried to promote the place to my friends. I went there with my husband in 2022, so I thought it's good to support the same local business but it turned out to be a terrible experience for my friends and I. We're so disappointed, but we still left tips (15%). We're polite and considerate customers. We did nothing wrong. We spent almost$ 150 for lunch. Why did this restaurant treat us like this? To the owner and the manager, please train your staff and yourself properly.
When I'm violently craving for a really good ramen, this is where I go. They have a good selection of shoyu, miso, and tonkatsu. Their tonkatsu ramen is my fave! The place is IG-worthy and they have an abundant selection of drinks and desserts, too!
Food is great and service is wonderful. Prices are a bit on the higher side but considering MJ is landlocked and a small town they’re still acceptable. Just wish the restaurant was a bit more well lit.
My FAVORITE place to go for sushi in Moose Jaw! Moose Jaw doesn't have many local restaurants that I want to eat at all the time and remind me of restaurants in larger cities, but Mitsu is top notch. So very thankful to have them here!
Food was ok, a bit too pricy especially for the portions. I had the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen and I would say that it’s a bit bland, for a ramen with a soy broth it’s a bit disappointing. The matcha iced latte was very good and the matcha cheesecake as well; but then again tiny portion for a dessert. It’s a very relaxing space and it’s a cute spot.
Great Sushi here, I'm not a connoisseur by any means but they did a fantastic job of the rolls and were very fast. Rolls stayed together nicely while eating and did not fall apart, nice tight packing! Fast service and wasabi that did not kill you on the first sample. One hour before closing they had a table for us and we sat down and we're waited on by a very helpful waitress that had great suggestions for us to try. Two sushi rolls and 4 beers for 60 bucks, not bad at all!
● FOOD Food was very filling and flavourful, the small details in each dish really adds to the overall enjoyment of the dish both aesthetically and taste wise. There is a very large selection of food and a good selection of drinks. It's a little more on the pricer side but consider the attention to detail and portion sides it's a pretty good deal. ● ATMOSPHERE The atmosphere was amazing, it's a restaurant too but this place felt a little more like a cafe because of how the tables were set up. Very chill relaxing place to have good food with someone. The ceiling decor in this place was the 'big wow!' I caught myself staring at the beautiful cherry blossom ceiling many times during my meal, it's truly enchanting! ● SERVICE This restaurant has the best service compared to all of the restaurants I've ever been to. Service staff was super friendly and kind and super speedy. They truly made this experience unforgettable! ● CLEANLINESS All dishes were very well cleaned and the table was washed thoroughly, as someone with pretty bad ocd this was a very pleasant experience for me. ● OTHER On the side wall there is a large selection of 'only in asia' things you could buy! Like a lucky cat, a traditional Japanese jar, Japanese and Hello Kitty snacks, and much much more. If you love Japanese culture or even just asian culture you'll love this place not only for its food and atmosphere but for its stock of interesting objects and snacks!

If I didnt get full.... there were so many great and interesting dishes. Loved the variety and the new ideas they are coming up with. I am from calgary and wish we had this place in town!!! If u expand I will be there!

Just a beautiful atmosphere, welcoming and friendly service, and amazingly delicious food. You always feel welcome; Mitsu is a calm little treasure in the middle of Moose Jaw. The food is awesome and very reasonably priced. Kid-friendliness: My ten year old loves visiting. Its not so fancy that she feels uncomfortable but its also nice enough to feel special and grown up.

We went for lunch at 1:30. No one ever came to take our food order. We left at 2:10. We told the person who took our coffee order no one ever took our food order and they said there is no assigned sections, i thought someone took your food order . Terrible service, ruined our day. Supposed to celebrate and we were so excited. People who came after us got their food and were done eating by the time we left. Half the restaurant was empty, came after the lunch rush.
I visited Moose-Jaw recently for a girls weekend and we made stops to Mitsu more than once because the atmosphere, food, and service were so great!

A bunch of online sources recommended this place as we were researching a good spot for dinner as we stayed one night in Moose Jaw. It was delicious! Unique, tasty cocktails too.

I recently came here on side walk days. The food tastes great and is well made and prepared with a unique flavor that satisfied my taste buds. One of the best Japanese restaurants I ve ever been to. Food is amazing and place makes me feel welcome with great service, plus great employees; and hope to try it again.

Dont go here. I rate this place 1 out of 5. We ordered sushi but it went too long but if we are asking for the bill it came right away. One thing also if you ask something it will take longer. They need to train their servers more. Others were served and finished eating and got their goodies but we still dont have our food. Id rather go to somewhere else.

Any sushi place that serves warm rice nigiri shouldn t be allowed to be called a sushi place. Rolls had warm rice as well. Salmon tuna roll was supposed to have wasabi mayo but was just regular mayo. Likely won t return. Only saving grace was the fish seemed fresh.

My kids and I love coming here when passing through town, but worth the hour drive regardless. The atmosphere is very calming and welcoming and the food is always top notch! Kid-friendliness: They dont mind having kids here. Wheelchair accessibility: I believe I saw a ramp and lower tables with removable chairs for wheelchair accessibility.
Delicious ramen and sushi, and great service.
Atmosphere was good but the food was not. Had two sushi pizzas and veggie tempura. The tempura was very hard and so was the crust of the pizzas. Veggies on the pizza were raw. Nothing like biting into raw onion! It was busy but they had 3 waitresses on staff. It still took them 10 minutes after we sat down to take our drink order. If you re in the mood for sweets, they looked pretty good.
We love this place! Food is scrumptious & service is great , we drive from Regina once a week! I wish I could recommend any specific dish but the whole menu is amazing!

Great place, we should have tried it sooner. Its bigger than it looks and between the four of us we tried a variety of dishes, all amazing. One thing Id love to see on the menu is a sushi roll variety platter.
Don t understand why they accept advanced orders and then don t deliver at the time requested. If I wanted to wait I would have ordered in the restaurant.

I wish my city had a Mitsu! They really seem to focus on food quality and presentation. The prices are more than fair (12 oz Saporo draught $5.50, 20 oz for $7, appetizers for $5-$9) The service was quick and friendly even though the entire place was full. The food is delicious and on par with what you might get at a quality restaurant in Japan. Good job Mitsu!!

This is our familys favourite restaurant. The atmosphere is peaceful, beautiful, and non-crowded, and the food is amazing. There is something for everyone as theres lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options. The staff are very attentive and kind! We really like that you can reserve a table online from their website. Some delicious recommendations: toasted marshmallow peach bubble tea, pumpkin coconut soup, bbq eel roll, dynamite roll, and any of the crepe desserts! There are also usually neat seasonal café items like lavender lattes! Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian options, my favourites being pumpkin coconut soup and tempura yam and avocado roll. Dietary restrictions: Menu is clearly marked with symbols pertaining to various dietary restrictions. Parking: There is street parking on main street, and also a parking lot directly east of the building with an entrance to the restaurant from the back (door is marked FnF furniture, but walk straight down the long hall to get to to restaurant!) Kid-friendliness: Regularly being our preteen here, and also meet up here for lunch with friends who have a toddler. The café has high chairs and has provided a non-breakable plate for parents to share their meals with young children.

Used to come here before covid, but can say that now it s one of my favourite places to dine. Went once this weekend because I ve heard local buzz to just enjoy some lunch, was blown away by customer service, dining experience, food quality & oh my gosh the price was way less than I had anticipated! Came back the next day and will always be stopping in while visiting MJ 10/10!

Really good food, it all tasted great. The bubble tea wasnt my favorite, just sort of a syrup slushy. I would live if they had a really good jasmine base, added milk and fresh fruit, with a little customizable amount of syrup sweetener, black pearls, and just a few ice cubes. Copy Bambu maybe. But overall its really good. Definitely worth trying out, and there are lots of other drinks to try.

Food and presentation were good, my only issue was that the servers started off way too inquisitive at the start of our meal, only to completely ignore us by the end.
Mitsu is by far my favorite Moose Jaw restaurant. The food is delicious, the sushi is always fresh, the bubble tea uniquely delicious (try the traditional with the foam if you want something a bit different). The restaurants ambiance is top notch. Its pretty and relaxing and the staff are always attentive, polite and friendly.
The food is always so good here, and their Ramen is out of this world! I go mostly for the sushi though, very good sushi. The deserts are awesome too.... just try everything! Its all good! This place is ALWAYS good. I eat here once or twice a month for years now and I ve never ever had anything that was even slightly off. I ve had a ton of sushi and ramen at so many different places around North America and this is one of my favourites. Service is always amazing and extremely friendly. The Raman is full of flavour and perfectly put together. The noodles are chewy and taste made from scratch. Relaxing ambience. Great coffee. Delicious sweets. Reasonable price. I m a for lifer. Moose Jaw is lucky to have them.
Customer service was AMAZING. The sweet lady kept checking that I was okay while waiting for my meal. The ambience will make you wanna stay here all day. And the food? Out of this world! Hands down best sushi I ve had. I also tried the Garden Salad even though it s not a lot, it tasted so good!

Excellent service, comfortable seating with different types of chairs to choose from, decor and ambience was peaceful. I had dynamite rolls and California rolls, both were better than I usually have, fresh and crisp, savory and crispy. Loved it! Caramel Macchiato was perfect.

The ramen here is so good, I drive from Regina to Moose Jaw for it. Ive tried all of the ramen in Regina, and its all MID compared to Mitsu. The black garlic ramen is the one I always get. The atmosphere is nice, too. The ceiling has a really cool illuminated floral pattern that I havent seen anywhere else before. Ive never had bad service there, either. I wish Regina had a restaurant like this, so I didnt have to drive so far, but its worth the drive!! PLEASE open a location in Regina!

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great, the food is actually really good (bears repeating), and the service needs some work. Our last meal, I got my food almost immediately, my stepdaughter got hers about ten minutes later, and my wife was served after the both of us were finished. Looking forward to updating this review once theyve fixed their timing issue.
Amazing service, and decor. Delicious food and drinks!!!
The staff is great! So welcoming and kind. A cute space as well. When I visited, I got three courses. An appetizer, main, and dessert. For my appetizer I had the tempura vegetables, and surprisingly there was a deep fried mushroom! Never seen that before, my favourite will always be the yam tempura but that one came in second. I also got the Mitsu sushi pizza, with three types of fish, tuna, salmon, and red snapper (and maybe eel?). They all melted in my mouth . The pizza dough was yummy, crispy rice. It also had a nice mayo sauce. For dessert I got an ice cream dish, which tasted/felt like real homemade ice cream! It was a pleasant vanilla flavour and seemed to be sitting in a type of coffee, served with two pieces of mochi, which were coated in soybean powder.
We love Mitsu, we look forward to bringing out of town guests here to eat, who love excellent sushi.

I knew the sushi would be great when I saw how they made my nephews chocolate milk. Fresh, fast and fabulous. The bubble tea got a rave review too. Cant wait to try the Gojira roll the next time Im in town. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options. Kid-friendliness: My three nephews loved the look of the place.

Service is looong and fees like a slack. When we were finally aerved our order, we asked for 2 plates and it never came hence napkins. It takes forever to ask for something so we decided to not ask anymore. But bill came fast and easy without any delay. Food

Has a really lovely meal here. The spicy chicken is excellent. All the rolls we ordered were very good. This is the first tempura mushroom roll we ve seen on a menu. Recommend the lemon sour saketini.

Great atmosphere, and even better service. Coming from Ottawa, I thought I had already experienced the best sushi in Canada... I was wrong. Mitsu is the place to be for fresh and creative sushi. Dont get me started on their ramen... Everything is amazing!

One word needed; Gross. I ordered a $15 noodle bowl called the DanDan. It tasted nothing like a dan dan, it smelled horrible and tasted even worse. It had a small amount of ingredients I could have made at home for less than $3. Worst noodle bowl of my life, worse than the $0.33 packages you buy at superstore.

It was amazing, every dish had just the right amount of flavor. the dandan ramen was savory and flavorful; the chashu rice had a lot of meat and was so tender, it was a perfect accompaniment to the rice and egg. The final favorite was the dessert! I recommend the matcha red bean, it was so good! The price is also very moderate, really really recommend it!
The best tasting and serviced sushi cafe in MJ; No doubt about it! Great tasting food that comes out fast, well prepared and plated. The variety is awesome in food, drink, desert and alcohol. Great outing for date nights or just dinner for one or more. The environment is amazing and beautiful as well!

I don t normally leave reviews for take out orders but the food was too good to not leave a 5 star review! Service was great when I picked up the order. The sushi I ordered was so delicious! I love the crispy sweet potato strips on my sushi. I also ordered a mango cheesecake for dessert. It was not too sweet- just perfect for my tastebuds. Will definitely have to come back to dine in!

Interesting Japanese inspired Cafe in Moose jaw. The honey toast and cheesecake are delicious, and all of the roles that Ive had have been excellent. They are able to accommodate seafood allergies. Nice decor and seating options. The servers are friendly and helpful. You can order from your table, and go up to the front to pay when youre ready to leave. There are better places in Moose Jaw for bubble tea though. Dietary restrictions: Plenty of seafood free options and servers are knowledgeable about ingredients. Parking: Paid coin street parking available in the front and side of the building, a paid coin parking lot available in the back. Parking is free on weekends.
The food quality went downhill since it opened years ago. Also don t double wrap your spring rolls and put a petty amount of filling $21 donburi rice bowl for 2 piece shrimp tempura, 2 sweet potato tempura, 1 crab imitation tempura and 1 mushroom tempura. A whole bowl of old dry rice. Not worth the price anymore for the meals and the quality of the food. Also why give paper straw and plastic and styro foam take outs? Disappointed with the quality lately. Won t be ordering from here again after years of going here.
Excellent little sushi place in Moose Jaw.
This is a great little place in Moose Jaw. The food is really good. It is quite expensive but it is worth it. The waiting staff are extremely polite and attentive but they aren t intrusive allowing you to enjoy your meal without any unnecessary interruptions. The restaurant is very nice inside too. They do deliveries and take out also.
The food is absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was phenomenal. The service is seriously lacking, there were three servers on and we waited crazy amounts of time for everything. Our food came out long before our drinks, which were terrible. Absolutely do not order a Caesar, you will be wildly unsatisfied.

I ve come by this restaurant a few times being here in Moose Jaw for work and all I can say is that it s amazing. The service by Rebecca is great , she is lovely. The food is very authentic Japanese and flavourful. I had the Gojira Roll and it was so delicious, I was mastering my chopsticks skills to get the last little bite of rice with the sauce. I also had one of there seasonal drink lattes and was not expecting the wonderful flavours. I had the Sunshine coconut latte. Nice little gem in Moose Jaw.

Another Moose Jaw must go restaurant! The food is excellent and the place is beautiful. They have an ornate attention to detail that adds a whole other dimension to the dining experience. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The sashimi is buttery and fresh and the sushi rolls are always elegant, especially the specialty rolls. Mango bubble tea for the win!

Cozy atmosphere and the food was great. Only downside was the service - food came quick enough but after that no one bothered to check on us. Had to ask for a refill of water.
My hubby and I went in as we are staying overnight in the city. I had the takoyaki and my husband had a bento box. We really enjoyed our meal and love the ambiance.
This cafe was not only atmospherically adorable, but the freshest, most wonderful sushi.
The Bagel Roll was quite good, but the seaweed didnt wrap all the way around a couple pieces, so they were opening up. The SK roll had far too much seafood- which would usually be a good thing, except there was sinew in the middle making it tough to eat. Additionally a couple of the pieces had some gritty grains in them. Besides that, nice aura and decor.
This is a gem in Moose Jaw. Tonkotsu Ramen had awesome flavor, spring rolls are delightfully crunchy and light, and Gojira rolls were amazing. Previous day we had takeout Bento boxes, also delicious. Restaurant is clean and inviting, staff are friendly. Also nice to see non-gendered bathrooms.

We sat down and were not provided service until we asked how we order (about 10 minutes later). Other tables were served their goodies before us (They were seated after us). We ordered 4 crapes total. Was first told it would be about 20 minutes. One crape came out on time. 3 were missed and when asked, we were told it would be another 20 minutes. Drinks were were also missed. Not a great experience. My coffee was great.
Really good food. Sashimi and sushi were fresh, ramen was good and i particularly liked the Unagi ( Bbq grilled eel) and deserts were good as well. A gem of a place in a small town like Moose Jaw. Possibly the best Japanese resto in South SK. Not even Regina has a better place.
Popped in with a friend while visiting from out of town! Its always delightful and clean, with nicely spaced tables that give the feeling of an old school study space or European bar. The Japanese food is incredible! The sushi pizza was sinfully good with crispy rice and beautifully arranged toppings. Great service too! Recommended.
Shared a honey toast - AMAZING! Also the chai latte and London fog teas. We were just killing some time and found this gem by accident. Hope to come back next time we re in town! Friendly staff and delicious, beautifully presented food.

Unexpected gem in Moose Jaw - my husband and I were looking for a light bite. We were blown away -- the decor had a laid back coffee house vibe with soft jazz in the background. The sushi was exquisite - tasty, beautifully presented and good value for money. My only regret is that we didnt have room for the dessert menu (cheesecake, dessert crepes and other goodies). The next table had a selection of Bento Boxes that looked yummy too. We will be back!

My husband and my favourite go-to restaurant for any occasion. They are wonderful and attentive and theyre stuck with us :) The sushi is always fantastic, their in-house desserts like the honey toast and sweet crepes are phenomenal, and they have a surprisingly great sake selection for being in Moose Jaw, SK. We are here constantly and the quality is always extremely consistent. If you dont want to spend on full meal of sushi, their donburi bowls and bento boxes are delicious, with our favourite being their tonkatsu ramen in the wintertime and the katsu curry bowl. Vegetarian options: You absolutely have to try the vegetarian curry and the sweet potato roll if youre not looking to have meat or fish :)

Amazing food and great atmosphere. We had have to wait a while for our food, but that was because it was quite busy.
Chicken was old premade and way overcooked, would have been easy to cook a thin chicken breast on a grill but what i got was tiny little bits and peices some were rock hard and dry. sushi was excellent! and the WASABI was amazing! fresh and packed a good kick. I arrived 1 hr before closing and the boss was rushing me to order which made me feel like i had to hurry.

Loved it! We stopped by because we had heard they had Michiko s tea. But the food and customer care was an absolute delight as well.
