My chicken roll is sometimes hit or miss for me however I am obsessed with this place. I thought I didn't like sushi. Turns out, I only like asian cafe sushi. So good, 10/10 on sushi, I won't eat it anywhere else. This or nowhere
If you’re looking for authentic ramen, you gotta go here. After trying pretty much every place to get ramen in St. John’s, this place was the first one that I was able to get exactly what I wanted. I ordered the tonkatsu, which is always my favourite and they did not disappoint. The broth was awesome, the meat was great, noodles were perfect. 100% recommend to anyone who enjoys authentic ramen. The pricing was great, only around $17 for a pretty large bowl. Amazing place, please check it out if you ever get a chance!
Friendly staff, been looking for a place that serves more authentic ramen since moving to NL. Sushi was great and the ramen was delicious, would have liked to have bokchoy instead of broccoli in the ramen but that's just me cos I don't like broccoli! Lol absolutely great quality food though.
Used to enjoy the food here, but noticed the use of AI generated images on their doordash menu. This is intentionally misleading, not to mention hugely unethical. If you can't provide an actual photo of your own food, why would I trust your product enough to make an order? Can't recommend them after seeing this.
During my visit to Asian Cafe, I encountered a few issues that marred my dining experience. Firstly, the pricing felt unjustified for the portion and quality of the food served. The ramen, a staple for any Asian cuisine enthusiast, was unfortunately bland, lacking both proper seasoning and salt. An unexpected aspect of the service was the additional charge for condiments. When I requested pepper and salt, a basic necessity for any dining table, I was charged $1.50 for a small container of pepper. This is a condiment typically provided complimentary at other establishments. It wasn’t the cost that was disheartening but rather the perceived stinginess. The quantity of salt provided was a mere teaspoon, treated as if it were a precious commodity. The staff’s reaction to my request for pepper and salt was also surprising. They seemed taken aback, as if such a request was out of the ordinary. Before providing me with the pepper, there was a noticeable two-minute discussion among the staff on how to address my simple ask. This level of hesitancy and reluctance to accommodate a customer’s basic need is concerning. In conclusion, the combination of pricing, food quality, and service has led me to decide not to return to Asian Cafe. It’s unfortunate, as I believe every dining experience should be enjoyable and leave patrons looking forward to their next visit.
This place is really cute. The decor is nice and calming. The staff are friendly and they offer great service. I ordered fried rice, and let me tell you, this fried rice is one of the best I've ever had. It's absolutely to die for. My girlfriend had the pad Thai, I tried some and it was just alright. We also had miso soup, that was just alright too. I will be back here to try more menu items for sure so maybe my review will change but for now, 4 stars is what Asian Cafe is to me.
Tried Asian cuisine last week. It was not good though. Ramen noodle was good. But pad thai was not good so we took it home and put some more sauces to bring it upto the mark. Black pepper chicken was too sweat. it doesnt look like it had a black pepper taste. Staff was really helpful and very less sitting area. Most people do a take out. To be honest, I don't think i will try it again.
This place is very good. They have great sushi, the avacado salad and miso soup were large portions, and the sauces that come with gyoza and sweet potato tempura were very flavorful. There was so many different options that I just ordered a few different things to try that I know I like to gauge the food. It was so good, I can't wait to try their Chinese food dishes next.
Excellent quality sushi & Chinese food. Very clean environment & full view into the kitchen. Great portions for price. As good as sun sushi, by a landslide.

Restaurant was clean. Girl on the register was friendly. Ordered the shoyu ramen with beef. Food took around 15 minutes which seemed a bit long when there werent any other customers but I wont hold that against them as I dont know what degree of food prep gets done in advance there. Had it to go, when I got home I saw the broth was in a separate container from the rest of the ramen fixins which I think is great. Once I started to eat though I realized all my noodles were clumped together into a giant ball, and I dont mean tangled, they were fused. Most likely werent separated well ( or at all) between cooking and being put into container. Essentially ruined my meal but its possible the cook was new / in training so Ill go back for a second try a little down the road.

Have ordered takeout from this restaurant several times and have yet to be disappointed! I recommend the fried sushi rolls and coconut chicken. The egg drop soup is also delicious and a perfect way to warm up on a cold night!

Although the location was ok and the parking was good it ended there. There was very little seating and not designed to stay and eat. There were very little in the way of vegetarian options, at leat from what we could see. If there were there was no interaction from the staff, no greeting and even though it was clear were were looking at the menu and struggling no attempt to help was made. Unfortunately we decided to try elsewhere.
Bad food, poor quality, no meat in my beef with rice noodles , fried rice had hardly any meat or veggies. No bang for your buck. Huge disappointment.

Blah!!! I ordered a sweet and sour burrito, it was so gross!!! I took one bite and threw it away! I also had to wait almost 30 mins to get this smelly stinky fishy smelling thing! Never go there again.

Placed an order at noon today for pick up on New Year s Eve. Understandably Very busy but completely unorganized. Arrived to picked up my order and upon paying I gave the lady a $50 gift certificate and pay the difference in cash. she could not find gift card I gave due to the messed. Insisted I never gave it to her and was trying to claim I gave her a 15% couple instead which not correct. I had to argue with two employees to find the gift card after a witness saw me give it to her. They finally found the gift card after multiple arguments. Upon getting home I had the completely wrong order. Had ordered a dinner for three and basically got one combo meal. Needless to say I wasn t happy to go back there to get my order and won t be going back there again. Two customers that I was talking to while I was waiting for my correct order had the wrong orders as well

Ive had Asian Cafe twice for takeout and its been great. You can tell everything is made fresh , with care. Sushi rolls are great. The dumplings felt like homemade which is rare. Great food which is also rare in Mount Pearl so dont miss out.

My family and I have had food from the Asian Cafe three times now, and it has been nothing but amazing each time. The fried rice is delicious and you are given a huge portion, my husband said the sushi was delicious and a great deal (cost twice as much at the grocery store and it s way more fresh than at the store as well). The staff are always super nice, the place is always clean, and they are always on time with having the order ready. Would absolutely recommend this place for anyone looking for Chinese/Japanese cuisine.

Ordered the a sushi combo and a Chinese food combo it was delicious. Place was very clean when we went in and order was always ready when we got there. Chinese food combo 7 portions was very generous for only 13.95. Tuna sushi was very fresh
Came for the dine in experience, easy to tell take out is their goal. 4x1 person and 1x3 person seating. You can see the large clean kitchen as soon as you enter. Friendly staff. Ordered the single person combo number 9. Good taste and great value! Under 20$. Didnt leave hungry. Miso soup was above average, plenty of seaweed and tofu. Sushi was fresh and the green salad was delicious! Spring rolls and gyoza were small but tasted good. I think the worst part was the spoon is super small lol. Looking forward to ordering more larger dishes for a crowd.

So many options! Liked everything Ive tried here so far, and I appreciate that there are lots of vegetarian options as well. Definitely a take out spot as it is very small inside, not many tables. Quick service. Would recommend.

5 stars for food quality and service, however, just 2 stars because of issues with some menu items, particularly Sweet and Sour Chicken, when in a combo, if you dont order Sweet and Sour Sauce separately, you just get Chicken Balls? It should state that. Also, when ordering (JP) Design your own Combination for 2, it states Please choose: 2 appetizers, at least 1 sauce, 3 sushi. for $24.99, however, when you order Sweet and Sour Chicken, you MUST order 1 Sweet and Sour sauce (for an extra $1.00, all sauces are + $1.00, and its a small ramekin, maybe 2oz.), even though it says the combo comes with 1 sauce? This is false advertising, at best. Will try to reach out to them to make these changes A.S.A.P.
We have had their food several times and it is always fabulous. The portion sizes are very good. Tonight I had the Special Combo 1 at $17.95 and it was enough food for my supper and my lunch tomorrow. Im stuffed

I went there for the first time today and ordered takeout food. Food is delicious. Stuff is friendly. However, I found a piece of staple/aluminum in my beef noodle plate. Thats the only reason I am giving 4 stars. I hope the restaurant will put it into consideration.
Food is tasty and fresh. The shrimp tempura is the absolute King!!!!! The sushi rolls and sashimi did not disappoint as well. I freakin love the tofu roll. It was so so so yum.
Great restaurant Sushi here is taste fresh and delicious. Tempura is crispy and not greasy at all! Recommend it to everyone who would like to try Asian food in St Johns area.

Really good coconut chicken and Ramen. Good options for vegetarian meals. Fresh sushi Vegetarian options: Veggie noodle bowls and tofu meals in place of chicken.
The food is always amazing when I have it, and everything is made to order. The owners and management treat their staff super well. Its the best place to work if you want a chill, customer service oriented job where you feel valued. Ive loved it here the entire time Ive been an employee. If you havent tried our food yet, I highly recommend.

Maybe an off night..prices have increased but quality have decreased. Wonton soup with three wontons and watered down broth and barely any chicken in the chicken rice.
This is not a cafe...one table for two with several stools facing the window. Very friendly service with amazingly wide menu...very enjoyed sharing our egg rolls, gyoza, the ginger beef and kung pao chicken, steamed rice but didnt enjoy the plastic cutlery/styrofoam plates when eating in. Fully recommend for taking out only. Please add a combination dinner for one which has spicy tastes with veggies with no deep fried please.
Food was overpriced and terrible. It was overcooked and lacked colour and visual appeal as well as flavour. As much as my family hates to waste food, most of tonights meal ended up in the garbage. We do not recommend. Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options but the one I had was overpriced and bland.
Lets all take a moment to DISREGARD Jerry..... he can type but clearly cannot read. If you were to drive by the location there is a sign stating THEY DO NOT OPEN TIL TOMORROW as in JUNE 16th... maybe you do not deserve the delicious food they will offer as well as their exceptional service.. anyways... get some noodles and breathe. Had a large take-out order on Fathers Day. Every dish was delicious! All of the vegetables were extremely fresh and cooked perfectly. Best of all, we booked a 5:00pm pick-up time on Fathers Day and our order was ready on time-great experience! We will be back.

Genuinely impressed with the quality and quantity for the price. Fried sushi was fantastic (with what seems to be their own fresh ginger?!), coconut chicken is legit, egg rolls are home-made and good.
I thoroughly enjoyed Asian Cafe. This is a new restaurant in our area. Its clean and bright designed mainly for take out. They do have one table with seating for 3 and a bar top overlooking the parking lot with 4 stools if you want to dine in. No reservations taken for seating. We were able to dine in. Restaurant was quite busy hut our food arrived fresh and hot in styrofoam take out boxes. I had a Japanese combo teryaki salmon ,gyoza ,salad miso soup and 6 California rolls. 15.95 Very good. Next visit I will try some of their other sushi offerings. My friend had a Chinese combo with chicken balls,beef and broccoli, egg rolls also very good 12.95. No alcohol served on the premises. I dont think you will be disappointed at all if you try Asian Cafe. My apologies for no pictures this time. Enjoy

Delicious! I viewed the online menu, it was very large and offered a little bit of every category: seafood, beef, vegetables etc. It was easy to find what vegetarian options they offered because the menu was well organized with drop down menus of the categories. I ordered broccoli with hot garlic sauce in restaurant instead of online. The server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They let me know the waiting time and gave me the receipt for my order. The food was simply, broccoli in hot garlic sauce served with a package of soy sauce and a fortune cookie. The packaging was a little flimsy and thin for such a hot meal though overall it was durable and withstood the heat. Utensils and napkins were not served with my meal so I had to get a utensil at a nearby store after leaving the Asian Café. The broccoli was cooked perfectly, the texture was great and the hot sauce was delicious.

Good choice here and apparently the sushi is good according to my Japanese wife. We go back often.

Read the reviews and decided to check it out, no disappointed here, the food was great, General Tso chicken (combo 7) and Pad Thai were both tasteful with good portions. FYI - the focus is on take out and if planning on dining in, the space is more conducive to a fast food environment than a dining experience however if youre there for the food then this is the place to go.
i usually never have a problem when it comes to ordering food, but tonight me and my dad had some chinese and japanese and it wasnt very well done. most of it was soggy and inedible, save for the salmon sushi and eggrolls but everything else was just not good. they also forgot my dumplings

We placed a large order of both Chinese food and sushi. The Chinese food was bland and the sushi was cold (should be room temp) and was made from several snips of fish. Ive ordered from here before and it was slightly better but still disappointing. Excited for new restaurants to open as we are foodies but we will not be eating from here again.

They put a menu in my mail box and shortly afterwards I put in a order. When I went to pick up my order I found that the price was higher than what was indicated on the menu about $5.00 The food was ok and the proportion given was good. Overall may never go back.
