During my holiday in Nanaimo, I was fortunate to discover The Breakfast Nook. We dined there four times over my two-week stay, and each visit began with a warm welcome and friendly smiles from the staff. I ordered the eggs Benedict every time, and it was consistently delicious. The other dishes I saw being served looked equally appetizing. This spot is always busy, so it seems to be a favorite among both locals and tourists. A big thank you to the wonderful staff! I hope to return again someday.

Stopped in this unassuming delicious brunch place. Had the special , pesto balsamic bacon benny! And it was the best benny I ve ever had! Seriously AMAZING!!

Service felt like I was being rushed. Waffles did have a slight hint of cinnamon but were dry and unremarkable.

Had the breakfast burrito and it was gross. The cheese and then ham tasted fake, highly processed almost like cheese whiz and deli meat. Will never come back again, especially after paying $30 for a gross meal.

Its part of a hotel, but thats how businesses survive and help each other. Go-to location anytime I go to the island and need breakfast going forward.

Service is normally really good ..however there are 2 servers regular gals who are great and 2 that are terrible felt like we were putting them out by being there..we have been served a couple times by the one lady and same attitude. The past 2 times the food has not made me want to go back. The last service topped it off.. Its too bad cause we really like the service from the regular 2 ladies always welcoming and the food was good. Please go back to the way it was and get rid of sour puss.

Nestled on a quiet corner of The Quality Inn Nanaimo, I stumbled upon a gem of a restaurant called The Breakfast Nook. I opted for their Veggie Benny, and oh boy, was it a treat! The dish arrived promptly, each bite was a burst of flavors. To top it off, the service was impeccable. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. I left with a satisfied stomach and a newfound favorite spot in town.

5 star brunch! I had the special eggs benny, and my wife the beef dip, both delicious! Hannah topped off, what was a delicious meal, with excellent, friendly, personable service! Thanks so much!

What a cozy atmosphere. Simple and laidback. I ordered the eggs Benny special and it was superb! I am picky with my eggs, and they cooked them perfectly. Well done! Following Google maps had us a bit confused. It is located inside the Quality Hotel beside the courthouse.

I recently dined at the breakfast nook for breakfast and while the food was excellent, we had a disappointing experience with the service. The majority of the staff were friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, the server who attended to us was both rude and kinda racist. This negative interaction overshadowed an otherwise enjoyable meal. I hope this feedback helps the restaurant address this issue and improve the overall customer service

It was our first time at this place and probably be the last aswell. It was around 8.30 am and we stopped there to have breakfast along with two kids. The server was rude and asked us that if we want another toast then we should let her know as she doesn t want to climb the stairs again and again. After listening to her we said we are all fine with the breakfast and left the place. The server wasn t welcoming atall. And we felt like it was a burden for her to serve us as we opted for the rooftop. The restaurant shouldn t provide a roof top option.

Best Eggs Benny (Benedict) I have ever had egg was PERFECTLY cook. They have Benny specials every day with unique combinations that are a must try. Great staff and atmosphere. Difficult to find on Google maps. They are located inside Quality Inn.

Food was excellent and portions were generous. The second floor patio was perfect during the warm weather. Bonus to be able to use the hotel elevator. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp into hotel lobby made for easy access. Eat-in area off the lobby. Second floor patio accessible by elevator.

Wonderful breakfast dishes, served by friendly people, in a relaxed place. We discovered The Breakfast Nook in 2023 and planned to return on our next holiday to Vancouver Island. Our return visit in July 2024 was every bit as good as the first time. Well be back. Vegetarian options: Several lovely vegetarian breakfast choices.

In Nanaimo visiting a friend and he took me here for a bite. Charming inside, top notch service. Now the food....I ordered a eggs Benny special. It is without a doubt the best Benny Ive ever eaten. Well worth checking it out if you havent! Stellar overall!

The breakfast was top notch but I had to give it 4 stars as the service was by far the highlight of the morning. Our server was really really good (5 STARS). Even though she was swamped, she was large & in charge, quick, witty and fun. The atmosphere was upped due to the fact that we were sat at one of the few patio tables on an absolute beauty of a morning.

This is a very quaint little Breakfast Place I stumbled on while traveling to Nanaimo. It was so good I went a 2nd day. Food is GREAT, service people are very friendly atmosphere is comfortable.

10/10 USED to recommend- this restaurant is on skip and they REFUSE to accept an order. Today I tried to place one, it said they were open until 630, so at 3pm I figured I had plenty of time. I put my order in and it sat for 15 mins before it was cancelled by skip for no response, conveniently the restaurant closed on the app early (3 hours early) so i couldnt write my review there. This is the second time theyve done this to me, which is disappointing af considering I did like their food. If you MUST try it, I recommend you go in person so you dont get ignored but tbh Idk if its worth the trip downtown, as they are a bit pricey. Super disappointed..

It s a pity that the description doesn t indicate that I can t bring my pet even to the outdoor terrace! Even when the animal is in a closed carrier. Wasted time traveling and waiting for the administrator to decide that we would have to leave without breakfast. Please include full information in the description, not just positive and permitted points.

Found this place while searching for a breakfast place with good reviews. They did not disappoint. Eggs Benny with a Seafood cake were absolutely fantastic. Hollandaise was amazing and the best home fries I have ever had. Amazing service. This place will be hard to beat.

Well prepared if unremarkable breakfast fare. My poached eggs were poached to exactly the right balance of softness and firmness. Coffee wasnt great but the server was kind enough to put on a fresh pot of decaf for me. Overall quality well above what youd expect in a hotel restaurant

Had a late breakfast and it was fantastic! Service was perfect, coffee delicious but most importantly the food. The food was excellent and was worth the 15-minute walk from the harbor front. I recommend the place for your dining needs. I didnt catch the two servers names but both were service-focused which I appreciated while enjoying my food and morning coffee.

The Eggs Benedict was excellent. We went to the original location a few years ago and had a great breakfast experience. The new location is an even better dining experience with the same great food. The only problem was that Google maps gave us directions to a parking lot next door. Unfortunately, this is a detriment to their business as some people might give up on the directions and go somewhere else instead. They are located in the lobby of the Quality Inn on Selby Street.

Finally had their Eggs Benedict after seeing all the google reviews , l totally agree they do make a good Benny compared to what you get downtown which is always inconsistent .

We ordered the Christmas dinner for Christmas Day. This was apparently the first year they did it, and they did really really well! Turkey was awesome, mashed potatoes and gravy were awesome, veggies were delicious too. It would have been nice to have a fruit compote with the cheesecake, because when we went to put the whipping cream on the cheesecake it was liquid. Otherwise a great meal!! Great job!!

First of all, the atmosphere and the look of the place was really nice, I was excited to go in and have some food as it looked pretty good in the reviews and menus. Until I find out that my stay there would be bad. We were almost forgotten and other people were going to be given our spot until we said something about it and was given back to us thankfully. After that we ordered some food and waited an hour for it with no reassurance of how long it would be as we still sat for ages without given any water or re fills. I understand it may of been busy but it would have been nice to have someone tell us about how long our food was going to take. And I cannot stress this enough the awful attitude this lady with terrible red lipstick had. She was very rude to us the whole time we stayed there and did not reassure us with our order at all. The way she spoke to us was very immature and rude. We finally had enough and just decided to leave with her response being Ok bye. It was terrible and she seriously needs to fix her attitude. Maybe if we had someone else that wasn t childish and rude about her services, things might have been better.

Great food. Bacon Benny was fresh with real bacon, excellent hollandaise sauce and super fresh home fries. All for a good price with great service. Very glad we tried it out, will be back!

Ordered food online and was severley disappointed, I got a side of sausages for 5 dollars and got 3 finger sized breakfast links, the pancakes were 7 dollars each and if you want topping it s an extra 8 dollars. I got a hot chocolate to drink but it was incredibly watered down and there was a layer of oil on the top. WILL NOT EAT HERE AGAIN.

It was a disappointing experience. We waited 45 minutes for a table and another 30 minutes for our food. While the breakfast hash with hollandaise was pretty good, the portion was barely big enough for a small eater like me. The waitstaff was very nice and polite. Overall, not a good value.

The food came out barely warm and the server didnt come by to see how things were so I ate a Luke warm breakfast which is a smaller portion than you get in most restaurants so I think Id rather go to Smittys for the price too. If you like small places with only tables and chairs it might be your thing but not mine. Honestly dont think Ill be back.

One of the Waitresses gave huge attitude and we waited over an hour for food. Looked like wonderful food on the menu, rooftop seating was lovely. Too bad we couldn t eat there, we had to get going for a tour reservation as we have company in town. When we told the waitress we had to leave she snapped ok bye (this was after we had asked half hour before how long it would be? And were told it would be 5 min.

I went there on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was relatively empty, and very bright and clean! I love all of the potted plants and the greenery that surrounds the whole place. All of the plants look healthy and happy which shows much love that is poured into this place. Now for the actual review: OVERALL RATING: 5 STARS FOOD: 5 STARS The food is so tasty here! We ordered lemon pepper wings for appy, and a bacon Benny and another ham benny for main course. The flavour was on spot for the wings, super crispy on the outside and very moist on the inside. The bennys poached eggs were cooked perfectly. Might even be the best bennies I have ever had being a hardcore food reviewer :) PRICES: 4.5 STARS. Other than the items above I also ordered orange juice. Total was about 56 dollars for 2 people. Not bad price in this economy but of course I am always down for cheaper lol. ATMOSPHERE and SERVICES: 5 STARS The waitress was very observant and everyone we finish something, she is right there to help clean up. The little place is very clean and like I said, I love all of the plants there(there are no flowers so ppl with allergie can still enjoy the food!) We also got the food pretty fast, was about 15 minutes after I ordered. Of course, there was only one other table that is full, so maybe when it is busier you will have to wait longer. The food make it worth your while tho. I even see the waitress clean the table and window thoroughly!! I love that!! It makes me feel better about being in a safe and hygienic environment. The only thing I think turns people away is the fact that the entrance of this lovely place is inside the lobby of another building, which led to some confusion when I first walked in. Lol. But dont let this gem go! Just puff up your chest and you will get to have the best eggs Benedict in the city.

Cute little spot, was easy to find street parking on a Sunday morning, friendly staff. Just be careful if you order the pancakes - they are giant. Even my 13yo with a huge appetite couldnt eat a whole pancake and the order came with 2. I was annoyed at the food waste. They were yummy though.

What a fantastic spot for breakfast, The food was so fresh and the portions were large. I will definitely be going back!! Both my sisters and I thought the hollandaise was yummy!! The service was wonderful too. Its a small space so it did feel a bit crowded.

This place is just outstanding. We went for breakfast and cocktails (vacation mode) and just had a wonderful time. Kyla (hopefully spelt that right) was attentive and very nice to us during our visit. The veggie hash was lovely and filling and the hollandaise may be the best I ve had. They had a hibiscus cocktail which was also truly memorable. 10/10 hope to visit them again.

Unexpected gem inside the lobby of the Quality Inn in downtown Nanaimo. It s on a semi residential street close to a gritty industrial area but you re in the right place!

Amazing. Very unsuspecting incredible breakfast joint. Seeing other plates come out and looking over the limited menu I felt I may have made a mistake by choosing here, then I got my food.. and let me tell you, it is AMAZING. GREAT hollandaise sauce and potatoes were crispy and seasoned great. There was a table of 12 who s order went in minutes before ours and with one cook in the kitchen I was worried it would be a long wait for our food but once again I was wrong, we were eating within 10 minutes of ordering.. not sure how they do it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Pretty cute place to visit. We went there early Sunday morning. The server was pleasant and genuine. The atmosphere was cozy. Now, this might make me seem old. Honestly, its not a problem, just something i noticed. It was a little loud, which if its early in the morning and youre not up for loud, or you want conversation, keep that in mind. The food was really good, if you want an eggs benny its one of the better eggs benny we have had and will be going back for that. The hollandaise was made well. The ingredients were very fresh and the food was piping hot. Love that.

The both times I ate here were great again at a dinner time meal I graved a breakfast plate and I got this plate that was just right Just what I was graving and hungry too So that was very nice and I loved it I always appreciate breakfast spots and this one doesnt disappoint A good name for this place its nooked away in this hotel you have to enter the hotel to access the restaurant very accommodating also great service with a smile

Response to the owner looking for a reason why I gave one star well couldntt give zero stars. Service was extremely slow, the food was not good and I ordered the eggs benny, water did not get refilled during the meal. Basic qualities of a good restaurant you had neither good service or food.
