Great chicken, tried the spicy, its spicy even for me and I love hot sauce, Mexican and Indian food.

Grabbed some food this evening, was swamped with customers. There was one woman taking orders, packing them, and bringing them out. Whatever she s making, she deserves much more! It was very stressful, customers out the door, and she effectively navigated that by herself with little to no support. She was running the show!

Ordered online and got an absolute inedible mess. Somehow got the sauce all over the outside of the burger. Chicken twists were packed 1 per order when it should be 2 (not the first time this happened). They were also off and tasted like they were old or bad. Did not finish the meal. Will not ever be ordering from here again. So gross.

My first time at Mary Brown s well my chicken was dry and very bland the whole burger was a mess 1 slice of pickle a little bit of sh lettuce the best thing that I had was the potato wedges pretty much disappointed won t be going back anytime soon .

Chicken is not cooked long enough. So eager to get their money but not to provide cooked chicken. 2nd time ordering.. will never again. 53 bucks into the garbage!

Absolutely no health standards in this store. The gentleman helping at the front counter didn t have his extremely greasy hair restrained, coughing and wiping his mouth and face with his hands while helping us and the lady in the kitchen wasn t wearing a hat/ anything to restrain her hair. As we were waiting for our food in the lobby, the gentleman took off his hat, ran his fingers through his long greasy hair, wiped his hand across his face and then bagged up my order while directly touching my chicken popins with his palm. I am absolutely appalled and don t feel comfortable eating the food I ordered. As someone who has managed in the food industry for a long time, I can t believe these are the standards being held at this location. I regularly go to the Mary Browns on Metral Drive and have nothing but positive things to say but I am extremely disgusted and shocked with my experience today.

I have always loved Mary Brown s. I m from Newfoundland where it started. I went to the south Nanaimo restaurant which used to be really great. I moved away a couple of years ago and had the chance to go back today.. i was so excited. I ordered a big mary and what i got was a still frozen in the middle microwaved big mary chicken burger.. it was absolutely disgusting and when i brought it back the cook in the back laughed.. this franchise should be closed before it does more damage to the mary browns name. Ps while i was getting a refund on my order, another gentleman came up to complain saying his chicken burger was freezing in the middle another great restaurant taken over by incompetent management

We spent a fair amount of time in Newfoundland but never visited a Mary Browns until I got back to Vancouver Island! I picked up a four piece combo split between regular and spicy. Pretty good!

Great nuggies sweet staff

At the Nanaimo location two times now we were given the bottom of the barrel taters, hard and gross. Tonight my friend told them that he wanted fresh taters. I mean we re paying for fresh food are we not??? He said the cook snapped at him and told him to go somewhere else. Very rude!

Its actually really good. I always looked at KFC being the standard and nobody came close to their brand. But these guys pulled it off. Its perfect.

We ordered through SkipThe Dishes all the way to Cassidy and got our order just over half an hour. Pretty darn good on both parts, Mary Browns were quick to get it ready, and SkipThe Dishes were quick to deliver. Chicken was very tasty, and servings were huge. They definitely dont cheap out on their food. If you love chicken, this is a great place to eat.

I liked their chicken more then Lees until I got a piece with raw batter on it. Food safe seems to be unknown to them. Edit: I still go back here, most of the time the above issue doesnt happen. But I recently tried the Grill Chicken sandwich. It was terrible. Meat cold and dry. I asked them and they heat them in the oven. Why on earth you would sell a product as a grilled chicken but not actually grill them. TERRIBLE.

Not sure what happened, 1st time ordering, thru skip, placed a large order, 8pm Saturday received message about half later saying my order could not be fulfilled??????had to rush and ordered popeyes which is further then mary browns from me, popeyes was here, within the hour of placing. Would like a answer to why the order was canceled, disappointed wanted to try something different. Ordered today Monday gonna change to 5 stars, ordered thru door dash, order came in a timely manner, dasher was polite, which door dashers always are, get to try it yay

every time i order I only get half my food. It s does taste great .when you actually get it. Also says closes at 10 but when you call before 10 the answering machine says closed. Very disappointed on my 4th and last attempt with this restaurant. Out of my entire meal of chicken and poutine pop and pies I got a poutine .thanks for forgetting everything!

I ordered $95.00 worth of food from them. It was to be delivered by a delivery service, Clean the dishes. The driver couldnt speak English, he never delivered my food. The delivery service reimbursed me $35.00 for their error, but the jerk at Mary Browns wouldnt refund me anything. According to him it wasnt his fault. No he just stole $60.00 from me, and didnt deliver any food. Dont trust this jerk, he has no idea how to serve his customers. Id like everyone in Cinnabar valley to stop ordering from him for a month. That should make his losses greater than mine, and teach him how important customers really are.

Never quite as good as it is back home... But it certainly curbs the cravings. Food is always good and the chicken is very good. The big Mary is the best sandwich. Funniest thing is the macaroni salad is called Mac n cheese on the menu? What is that about?

Food sucked asked for no white meat got two pieces of white meat and a drumstick, fries were terrible . I guess they have been in Nanaimo long enough now they figure they can just throw any kind of slop at you because you wont find out what you have till you get home . My friend and I ordered the batter box and it was inedibly salty. We told the cashier, not even seeking a refund, the cashier yelled out to the cook in the back without even an apology to us, saying they said your chicken is salty to which the cook responded I know, what do you want me to do about it . Disappointing to say the least.

I used to look forward to big mary Mondays. Chicken sandwiches were always outstanding. Meat to Bun ratio was awesome. Today I went in for my big Mary Monday. What I got was half of what normally the portion size was. And the chicken itself had zero flavour or seasoning. Unfortunately this is a common trend happening and I will no longer be a loyal customer.

I have had Mary Browns before and it was OK however this 3 peice chicken meal with fries was disgusting. Chicken was extremely dry and the fries were like chewing on sticks. Will I be back, NO.

I ordered a sandwich through Skip and the chicken was raw. They gave me the run around when I called to get a cooked sandwich, which I was very surprised about. The employee was understanding, but had to get managers permission. Manager asked to call back but never did. Accidents happen, but bad customer service is a choice.

Got a raw burger, took some time for the issue to be resolved. Cest la vie.

Chicken is very fresh and juicy. I ordered the spicy and original, the spicy powder has surprised me so much. I think it is better than Popeyes and KFC. I really enjoy it. The staff here are very polite and nice.

Stopped in on our commute to Parksville at about 6pm April 3rd. The food is always great... but today Im leaving a review for the blonde young woman running the front by herself like a boss. She greeted everyone, knew the menu completely and encouraged people to try different things. She spoke to the delivery drivers like she knew them all very well. We decided to stay and eat because of the atmosphere she created. These days when everyone is hiring and customer service is in the dumps I think she needs to be recognized. I wish Id asked her name!

Totally disappointed with tonight s meal. The chicken was very small in size.:barely a bit bigger than KFC. Also the chicken was very dry and over cooked. And thirdly, the gravy was light in Color and over killed with pepper. Oh almost forgot. This store is continuously changing its coleslaw. The owner of this store is showing signs of not giving a dam for quality.

Really great chicken. Would recommend trying.

Just ordered through a delivery service, and despite them asking for more time to prepare (which is understandable since it is Friday) our food arrived cold and soggy. They also sent us the wrong salad with our meal. Chicken is not crispy due to sitting, despite our delivery driver arriving on time and waiting to collect the order. Lesson learned. If we go back again, it will be pickup only.

We walked in at 2030. They closed at 2100 and didnt want to serve a lady in front of us that wanted 20 pieces. It would have taken too long. Very unprofessional. Turned us off. We left. On a previous visit we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Not greasy and great taste.

Not that great, was my first time, the staff was quite rude and condescending when I asked for help/menu suggestion and made me feel dumb. Fries were super hard and tough to eat (no Im not an old person). Sandwich was nice and hot but not big as the menu described. For $12 for a sandwich and fries the value really wasnt there
