Best fried chicken in town.

I definitely refer Nanda Chicken to anybody. It was very delicious, spicy and sweet but not too spicy. Will be going back real soon.

Was really concerned about this place when we walked in because it was dead but looks like we beat the lunch rush. Food was well priced and chicken was great.

The food is SO good. Hands down the best fried chicken in town. And the mozza sticks... Dont even get me started. The staff is so pleasant as well. Pretty much my favorite chicken restaurant Ive been to.

The chicken was very tender, the service was excellent, and the waitress had a lovely smile and a sweet voice.

The floor is really greasy so slippery. No toilet later in the bathroom.

The first time I went I ordered a side of the daikon but they were out the next time I went back(about 3 months later) she remembered and just brought me out a free side I m just sad I no longer live on the island

I dont do fast food but this was highly recommended by friends and they were NOT wrong. Ill be back here for sure!!!! That Gangsta Chicken Sandwich is AWESOME!!! It doesnt even make sense to eat at places like McDonalds when restaurants like this exist!! Try it!!!

I tried Nanda chicken for the first time yesterday and WOW. So yummy! I had the crispy chicken and it was delicious. Will be coming back for sure!

Got takeout from Nandas chicken for the first time cause all the reviews sounded great, they were right! We had the Mozza sticks which were huge and yummy The Gangsta sandwhich and the Yangnyeom spicy chicken. It was all incredible, we didnt manage to get any pictures as we ate it all on the car ride home cause it smelt so good. The service in there was great too and the prices were decent for the huge portions!

Without any doubt the Gangsta is the best chicken sandwich I ve ever had love at first bite l will definitely be back and try everything on the menu over time . I With a honable mention the waitress was all by herself doing everything in the front of the house they were busy it was a pleasure watching her go I hope the owner appreciates her l surly did .

The Korean chicken need more selection. Restaurant does not offer rice as a side dish. Chicken is crispy but flavours are okay.

The flavours are unique, with all the secret Korean sauce/spice ingredients. Except when it comes to either Half or Whole, its rather SIZES than the portion of either half a bird, or a whole bird. After all, its absolutely worth it. Vegetarian options: Only if they could go beyond chicken beside the real chickens...

I will never shut up about how much i love this place. the food, pricing, and service are unmatched. the staff are so kind, friendly, and attentive. the food is insanely good. this is seriously my favourite restaurant of all time and i highly recommend eating here. This place is fantastic. Whenever we are going through Nanaimo when hungry we stop here. The fried chicken is always made fresh, the sauces are delicious, the salad is the best and to wash it all down they have a small but excellent choice of beers. As a bonus there are too excellent record stores nearby to browse through.

Get the gangster sandwich. Ask any of my friends and they ll tell you I m constantly talking about this place. To die for.

Updated review: long-time customer coming back after the renovations, and everything was perfect and fresh 10/10! It was very busy, but they handled it well, and the food didnt suffer 1 bit. im so glad they are back, and as popular as they deserve the best chicken in town without question, I find it hard to belive I could find a better chicken this style on the island or even the province!

One of the best fried chicken joints in all of nanaimo, really good quality and amazing effort goes into each dish and visit, I dream of this chicken and the red yangyeom sauce is to die for ! Its like chicken Crack its so good. Not available anywhere else and the service is very good! Its a special treat to enjoy anything on their menu !

First time experience. Was absolutely blown away by the Gangsta Sandwich. Chicken was perfect, best Ive had in town. Try it with the potato wedges, which get top marks both for taste and presentation. Will be back again.

Nandas is fantastic. Their chicken is absolutely delicious and you can have it traditional western style ala KFC type or with authentic Korean sauces. But what you really have to try is the Gangsta sandwich, it is probably the BEST SANDWICH I HAVE HAD IN MY LIFE... I know thats a bold statement but I stand by it. The onion rings as well, are absolutely the best onion rings Ive ever had. Go have lunch or get Gangsta sandwiches for pickup, you will be impressed.

Always friendly, always delicious. What a gem of a place.

Owner needs to hire more people. There were only one single waitress for the entire restaurant. She is clearly overworked and overwhelmed. My party of four came in, were seated and ordered.. waited thirty minutes only to find out our order was not put in, as we watch the one girl running frantically from the kitchen to every table, and helping with the delivery. Out side, there is a sign in Japanese looking for help. Not sure why you need the help to speak Japanese, given most of the patreons were English speaking. Its a shame because everyone had rave reviews about the chicken.

Today I went to Nanda Chicken and was very disappointed. There was only 1 waitress for a half full restaurant. The waitress was pleasant and sat us down, poured us water and took our order. We waited around 40 minutes as we didnt want to rush them, but at that point we are in a rush to catch the next ferry so we asked for our food to go instead. The waitress then came back and told us she forgot to put in our order and it would take another 30 minutes before we can get served. At that point we had to leave the restaurant as we would miss our ferry. Very upsetting as we waited close to an hour and we did not get served. The waitress is clearly overworked and the restaurant needs more staff.

Visited Nanaimo for 5 days. Came here for lunch twice. Sooooooo yummy chicken. Great find. Hostess so friendly and nice and even showed us where to pick clams. Come here if you love Korean chicken. As good or better than lots of places in Vancouver and great price. Thanks

Weve eaten fried chicken and KFC (Korean Fried Chicken, not that other thing) all over North America. This is the BEST of it all. The crispy fried thighs are stellar, as is the Gangsta Sandwich. The utter lack of greasiness in the chicken is borderline supernatural. How do they do it??? Yangnyeom sauce is much better balanced than the too-sweet syrupy concoction typical in the USA. The amount of kimchi and daikon given as side dishes are double or more what weve gotten in the USA. Service was exceptionally gracious and beer selection was solid. They nailed the whole thing - PERFECTION.

absolutely BEST Korean chicken I have ever had. i live in Vancouver and have tried so many different places, this is by far the best and Im so sad I dont live close by! We ordered the ganjang chicken, truffle fries, and mozzarella sticks; all were wonderful but that chicken was something else! good meat, perfectly crispy skin, great flavored sauce and just the right amount! cannot recommend more highly!

The gangsta sandwich is one of the best sandwiches Ive ever eaten.

The server was friendly helpful in explanation and suggestions of items, including how to correctly pronounce them. The serving size of the boneless chicken was plentiful and was served hot, it was made fresh to order. The truffle fries were really good. The deep fried cauliflower was yummy, even cold the next day. The sweet spicy sauce on the chicken was very balanced not hot for those nervous about spice and heat. This is something I would order while doing groceries and pick up on the way home.

Best fried chicken and hot chicken sandwich in Nanaimo!

Nandas is a new find for us but we absolutely love it. We have only ordered take out but the food is well packaged and survives the 20 minute drive home and still tastes fantastic. Onion rings are amazing, deep fried cauliflower delicious, chicken sandwich is huge and could easily be shared but so good you wont want to. But the chicken is the real star it is really well done, crispy, sweet or spicy, you wont be disappointed. I cant wait to order it again.

We dropped by Nanda to pickup lunch for a group of friends. Everyone wanted something different so we got an assortment of offerings. It was all excellent as we ended up sharing everything. Chicken and vegan chicken were both great. I personally love the spicy sauce. Amongst all that goodness, the standout item was the onion rings. They were simply the best onion rings Ive ever had. Vegetarian options: Excellent not chicken option. It tastes just like chicken.

A gem in a small town. Went to this place as it was highly reviewed and was not disappointed. Had the vegan chicken which was well spiced pieces of vegan meat. Also had the cauliflower fries which were crispy and tasty. Food mate had the chicken: Super crispy batter, tender chicken with moist meat. Batter didnt have spice but would go well with any sauce of your choosing. Mozzarella sticks had cheesy stringy cheese inside with crispy outside. All food came out hot! Each main is $15, apps were $6-7 each. Wish I wasnt rushing to make it in time for the ferry otherwise, wouldve enjoyed the service. The wait staff were pleasant and aimed to please. Small place but knows how to make chicken. Be careful with the sauce was spicy...not for the light hearted. Would request to use the batter to make deep fried oysters and shrimp. Serving local beer from Vancouver which had several types for all beer lovers. Overall: One of the top chicken places in the country...if you can get here, try it!

Me and my husband went for a date lunch wasn t very busy for sit in so no reservation needed. Staff was nice and attentive. definitely recommended the specialty drinks they have from Korea. Chicken was freshly made and wasn t greasy at all good crunch on the chicken. The mozzarella stick was nice and gooey and had a cheese pull to them well seasoned. Would definitely go back and seemed like it would be good for take out as well.
