Are the cheesecakes at smittys the baked version or non baked version?

Food was great for our lunch date for me and my boyfriend.

One of our favorite restaurants! We havent had one meal that we didnt enjoy. All the servers at this location are great but Chelsea is our favourite

The best chicken wings ever. They really are the best chicken,s wings. The service is 100% .We love it, we have been going for wings and beer for 3 years now.

Everything about Smittys - Nanaimo - was great except for one important item. An improvement is needed around accessibility. One of our party was in a wheel chair. The ramp was way over to the side of the sidewalk and there was no auto access button to open the door. I had to struggle with opening the door and pushing the chair through. A person in a wheelchair who is on their own would most likely not be able to access this restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Very difficult. There was no auto open for the entry doors to this restaurant.

Friendly service with a smile. Great food quiet atmosphere.

6:PM October 14th, overcooked or undercooked, nothing was done well; Portions of my meal were burnt, and everything else was raw, awful chef, and waitress brought me a drink I didnt order and still had to pay for even though I didnt touch it.

Items that dont enhance the dining experience need to be removed from the table, which the staff at this location dont seem to put any attention into. For example - Guest unwraps the cutlery, server should remove the small glued garbage wrapper. Guest uses a prepackaged creamer, server should remove that garbage from the table. Better service means a better guest experience. People dont want to dine out surrounded by garbage.

Food and service was amazing! Our server Sarah took care of our big table and got all the orders right and on time. Food was tasty and it wasnt a long wait.

High five to the person who brought Mellisa onto your team. It was only her second day and WOW she is amazing. Pleasant, cheerful, cares, truly 1 in a million

We stopped there for lunch. We both had the smash burgers with cheese n fries and everything was fabulous.

April is absolutely fantastic and she s only on her 4th day in. Absolutely will come back just for her excellent service and efficient care.

Despite it being a very busy Sunday morning at the restaurant, my server, Aurora, provided exceptional service. Despite all the business, Aurora, treated me as her only customer. She was friendly and had a refreshingly positive attitude. Service like this encourages customers to come back.

Lamps, vents, and carpets could use tlc. With all the dust, makes you wonder what the kitchen must look like.

Good for a casual breakfast.

Food is always fresh and the servers very good and friendly. Sometimes it can be a little busy but never too long of a wait. One of our go tos when we are at that end of town

Excellent service and food! Very attentive/friendly hosts and servers! Food came out fast on a Saturday morning and was really good! They brought around a toy bin for kids to choose a little toy after we ate. Kid-friendliness: Have a toy bin for kids to choose a toy.

Other than the hostess who was great the service was meh. Then we got to the food The eggs were overcooked with a heavy dark brown later across the bottom. Pancakes disintegrate as you touch them. The coffee was absolutely disgusting then they charged you almost 5 bucks for it. Will never eat here again.

In April, we went for breakfast about six times. There was good food and friendly service.

Would not recommend eating here...everything we had was made from frozen food. Horrible tasting gravy and definitely not the creamy, whipped mashed potatoes they advertised. The potatoes were lumpy and dry!! Very disappointing meal for the $60 price we paid!!

We are recent frequent fliers to the island. We are mainlanders looking to move over. Smittys quickly became our only breakfast spot. The location in Parksville has nicer staff with better service though. We were looking at a house In Hammond Bay and went here before meeting our agent. The service was excruciatingly slow and dull. I tried to use my Smitty app and was told their computers were down so we couldnt. Kinda disappointing as it was my bday reward.....the restaurant wasnt that busy either. We did not get a refill of my hot water for tea and my hubby gave up trying to get his water refilled. We asked for the bill before we had our plates cleared by flagging the waitress down...... that has never happened at the only other location we have been to.

Dropped in here with my cousin, nephew and his then gf. Enjoyable brecky nice and clean.

Great food, excellent friendly, helpful service. The only thing that stopped 5 stars was no gluten-free bread/toast.

Great place

The wings are great here. Usually order salt and pepper wings with yam fries and a green salad. Parking: Not usually any issues finding parking although at lunch time you may want to get there early as its a popular place for a decent lunch. Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheelchair accessibility although you will need someone to open the doors as they are not automated.

Great breakfast at a reasonable cost. OK burger. Awsome nachos. Food

Every Friday starting at 4:30 pm . Smittys lounge has a wings and beer night for $15.00. One order of wings and what ever is on tap. Great deal! My wife and I have been going there on and off for three years. Sooo many different flavors for wings. Fantastic manager and owner.

Was there for brunch March 3, 2024. Food was really good and service was exceptional - the young man told us he was a supervisor and I can see why. All in all a great experience and we will be back.

We stopped for dinner and it was super disappointing. Burger and fries were very small and sub far. Ginger beef was the same. All felt like freezer quality. On the positive side, service was great, and atmosphere was too. Kids (and adults) loved the fish tank. We have had awsome breakfast here in the past but wont be coming back for dinner sadly.

Its a great restaurant! The waitress was knowledgeable about allergies and let me order willynilly instead of off the menu. Price was about what youd expect for a family restaurant, the food was perfectly cooked. Will definitely be back! Wheelchair accessibility: I didnt notice if there was an automatic door opener (which generally means there wasnt) but inside is very wide with lots of tables that could be easily be usable by a wheelchair user. I was using my crutches and had zero issues.

The service could use some improvements. Everyone always seems so inconvenienced...but we manage to get a decent meal.

Never had a bad experience in the past dining in, but I ordered a pick up order, a 70$ meal for my family, and when I got there they realized they gave my food to the wrong person. They hardly apologized, offered nothing to amend the problem, they then rushed to slap together the most bland and pathetic meal Ive ever seen. Dry lumpy mashed potatoes, dry meat. And to top it all off, the manager seemed annoyed at me they had to remake my large order. Definitely wont order take-out ever again.

Wow! The service & food was excellent, I had the clubhouse sandwich with fries & gravy. The sandwich was two hander & very tasty. The best deal Ive seen since the last time I ate here. Kudos to the waitress & the cooks.

Super dirty! Underneath the tables are very dirty especially along the wall side. Flooring super dirty, carpets are absolutely disgusting, need a steam clean, tiles need a good scrub, (get a brush, with handle and use pink power solution from bastions and scrub those tiles) Blinds on windows absolutely disgusting, not what I want to look at while eating. Vents on ceiling dirty, bathrooms are dirty, honestly I was a little repulsed by how dirty the restaurant is when I actually looked around. I only hoped the kitchen is clean, meal was 3/5 Hopefully they will realize it or start caring and hire someone to do deep cleaning.

Good service, portion was generous.

My pancakes were not light and fluffy. They were crunchy on one side and chewy on the other. I waited almost 15mins for my first cup of coffee ( asked two different servers before I annoyed them enough to bring me one ). Coffee wasnt bad and I would have liked a refill but one wasnt offered until we were paying. Mostly young male servers who seemed to be indifferent to service. Some tables were lucky enough to have the young lady serving them, she seemed to have some job ethic. This is my second time at this location, both sucked. They were at about 30% capacity and had more than enough staff. Shortage of staff was not an issue. It was the staff that were the issue.

Definitely one of the best places in town for a hearty breakfast.

Eggs beni great here and reasonable

Staff was very accommodating when a large group of us came to eat after a hockey tournament game, hard to do at some places with no warning. Lunch menu was good and the staff was quick and friendly dealing with our large orders.

Waited l literally over an hour for our food almost thought we were forgotten about. Asked for medium eggs they came almost raw, also the server was pretty rude probably won t be back

Smittys in the South end of Nanaimo has great Chicken Wings! And their Wing Nights (Friday & Saturday) are an excellent time to partake! Matt is an excellent server too, really made the night out fun!

After shopping at Rona, we decided to have lunch here. Being a weekend, it was really busy. They were offering seating in the bar area, to help with the spacing. Food was served quickly though. My order was misheard and I received something different. The staff member was apologetic and, after I turned down waiting for the correct order, I was comped one of my dishes. Parking: No issue with parking.

Excellent breakfast so glad I brought my daughter here today (St.Patrick s Day). My eggs were cooked perfectly! Medium Basted. Everything looks perfect including my hash browns I asked for well done! Reasonably priced! I got eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns and a pancake. My daughter got a waffle and they brought her strawberries and whipped cream separately, perfect so it won t get soggy! Highly recommend this place! Though our waitress seemed to forget about us as soon as it got busy, just quickly letting us know we weren t forgotten as you walk by would have been nice. Overall though great start to the day!!:)

Both of our meals - crepes and a skillet were microwaved. The strawberry s for the crepe were frozen and quite old. The restaurant as a whole does not feel clean and the service is not entirely on top of it with coffee being asked for 3 times before a disappointing coffee was brought. I understand the Smitty s is priced a bit less than other places that serve breakfast, however that is no excuse to have poor quality food, an uncleanly aesthetic, and slow service. We still spent ~$20 each for microwaved food.

The cook was having a good time and it really has fun,small World, Love authentic heart felt communication. her job. She was great to talk about old times in Nanaimo here and love her spirit. Had a great steak sandwich. Love coming here

Everything was great, except the coffee needed to be freshly brewed.

I have been many times and usually leave happy. The past 3 times I have waited over an hour to receive our bill (even after asking for it). Never got a refill of coffee and overall just disappointed. Today was Mothers Day so I expected to have delays but 2.5 hours for a quick brunch was excessive.

Waited a while to be seated. After being seated waited 15 minutes but no server came to my table. Left and went to grocery store for takeout instead.

It is Smittys. Good quick restaurant with friendly service. The food was good and they are always plentiful. The shakes are good but a bit smaller. The coffee though needs some serious work. It was not good. Other than that, I would recommend and will be back

The food is always good and the service is friendly. We sit by the amazing fish tank and the comfort food makes us feel at home.

Just excellent food and service five stars

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times and they are always short staffed. Not enough people serving too many tables. Can easily see the staff is run off their feet and have to wait to order and pay.

Toke 15min before a server came to the table to take our order. Ordered a steak and eggs and the steak was the same size as the egg yolk....... lol wow great value. Steak was still cold.

Fair service. My issue is with the womens bathroom. Stall had the most McGyvered lock Ive ever seen. So sharp It ripped my shirt. Someone could get really hurt. When I told the server she just stood there like it was no big deal and said Ill let the manager know.

Took our kids out for dinner. The service was amazing and so was the food! We will be returning again Kid-friendliness: Server was very polite and patient with our kids.

The food served to us was practically un edible- by definition a grease filled disaster. So much butter on just the toast alone that it was like a wet sponge- sqeezed it and it dripped out . Tried to rinse my mouth out with the drink I ordered. 10 min after I left I still taste nothing but grease . Will not be back unfortunately.

This Smittys at the South end of Nanaimo is really good. The staff is great the food is good with descent portions. There is always plenty of parking.

A good basic restaurant. Breakfast served all day! Prompt service, lots of tables available. Convenient location. Lots of parking.

My last Smittys visit was terrible and I was hesitant to try it again but wanted to make everyone happy with dinner that night. My son always likes fishNchips and the fish pieces were good size, and nice and meaty. My dish was very warm and tasted good with a good nice cold draft beer. This location, and I have to admit it surprised me. I will go again with my family. Staff were nice and polite.

Service was great but the food was average. If you get ham with your breakfast I noticed it was so thin it wasnt even worth adding it to your breakfast. It was your average breakfast but nothing to rave about.

Most disgusting steak sandwich I have ever had. It was half fat and raw. Plus it was so tough I couldnt chew it. What a disappointment even for Smittys.

Food portions are on the small side for those prices. Very laid back (but good) service at a laid back location. Dont go if youre in a rush

Amazing costumer experience! The hostess and waitress kyla is my favourite.

We visited Smittys in Port Alberni, Comox and this one in Nanaimo and I ordered the fresh fruit from all three locations. This locations serving consisted of two slices of orange, one piece of pineapple, two small pieces of cantaloupe and wasnt fresh. The server did not hide the fact that she did not feel like serving another table. It was a disappointing experience and paled in comparison to the other locations overall.

Every single time I go the your 10th street location, I recieve THE BEST customer service, ever!! Either they are treated well or this location has gotten very lucky with their staff! Vegetarian options: Id like to suggest one more vehicle burger option, for us that dont like bean burgers...but otherwise.....delicious food.

A cup of cheap Lipton tea with luke warm water is $4.00....really? Place is dirty and run-down. Also NO gluten free selections ie: bread or bun.

Perfect breakfast

We went for late breakfast and the restaurant was very busy, so I was surprised how quickly we were served and once we ordered the food arrived very soon after. The table wasnt set completely, missing salt shaker and cream for coffee, but the server quickly rectified. Will definitely be back, but request a seat away from the fish tanks, nothing wrong with them, just a personal preference.
