Manvirros Indian Grill in Nanaimo

Food had no flavour and hardly spiced. Rice was bland. Ordered Lamb Vindaloo and the veg korma. Naan was probably bought somewhere. This place has really gone downhill.

Worst customer service ever.Totally disappointed.Server (lady)has no manners to deal with customers.Came only to take order and serve food .Did not provide any glass for water ,no napkins .Even we had to go to the counter to request for cutlery as she did not bother to come and check if we need anything else .She was totally lost .

Im not sure if they have new owners, but our last takeout experience was so bad I had to throw it away. Ive been a fan of this place for years. Time to move on.

They serve very poor quality food. I don t understand how people are giving them 5 star or 4 star rating. I had a very bad experience.

I wanted to give the chef a hug - not often I get blown away by flavor bombs, but 2/2 times this has been the case. I m so lucky they re a walk down the street from my house! Veg samosas, lamb Rogan, lamb specials, tikkas, paneer, naan and saffron rice - SO GOOD!!!! Ambience is cool cuz it s Punjabi music, mostly take out but still have local and Indian beer on tap. Friendly service.

I wanted to try out this restaurant as I am a frequent traveler to Nanaimo. I am not impressed with their food preparation. Chicken Malai kabob was just plain chicken pieces, no marination, just blunt taste. I had to order extra mint chutney to get some flavor. Chicken tikka Nawabi was the same. Very disappointed

I had a wonderful experience at Manvirros! The food was absolutely delicious, and I was particularly grateful to the owner for preparing special dishes for us during my fasting period. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was delightful. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy great food with thoughtful service!

By far the worst Indian food Ive ever had. The extra veggie option, $7 was just frozen crinkle cut carrots and peas . The Jalfrezi looked and tasted like tomato soup out of a can. Normally we would demolish a plate of jelfrezi as its one of our fave dishes, but it was so gross we barely touched it. We talked to the manager and they wouldn t give us a refund for the food and told me they are priced fair. Will never order or recommend food from this restaurant. Im not one to throw away or waste food but we basically threw out $80 worth of food and went elsewhere to eat. Terrible food quality, over priced and small portions.

Tried Manvirros for the first time last night. Had an order of Lamb Korma and Kashmiri Prawns with Naan and Poppadoms. It was the best Indian food my wife and I have had in Nanaimo. 5 levels of heat to choose from the largest selection of dishes weve ever seen. They even have curried goat dishes (which well be trying next time). If youre Indian food lovers like we are, we highly recommend the restaurant.

Ordered takeaway. Food was really tasty. Ready to collect on time. Good covid processes, from what I saw. Ill buy again. EDIT: Ive been several times now. Food is still great, and its prepared pretty quickly. I tried a couple differnt naan breads. The potato is really yummy. Its kind of like a samosa to me. The garlic is ok. I love the roti too.

Our first time coming here. We re originally from Vancouver. We found this place because I always crave Indian food. My favourite is buttered chicken so we gave this place a try. The sauce was kind of not my liking but for the amount of food and how nice the server (lady) I would say it was a nice experience. Hope the tip we left went to the lady. We came here June 16, 2023 around 8:10pm Vegetarian options: They have a few veggie option. Parking: Parking was very accessible and they had plenty of space for every car. Wheelchair accessibility: They have accessibility for wheelchair users.

Cauliflower mango curry, naan, jeera rice were delicious. Dal was okay okay. Portion is also less for the cost. Smiling staff, so feels welcomed.

Love their chicken curry and butter chicken. Only leaving this review to show a picture of the calamari. Saw their picture online and thought it looked pretty good. What we received was nothing like the photo. Still tasted pretty good just wasnt what I was expecting.

Fabolous place We ate here with family, what a lovely place, amazing hospitality from entrance of the restaurant to farewell, everything was superb, staff always smiling and eager to serve you. We had special drinks request, which was done perfectly well. And service was very high standards. The food quality was fantastic had special request in food for my wife. Vegetarian options: I went for lunch buffet today and my experience was horrible there was just a 2 veg option not much options no curd nothing and even the naan wasn t very good and no pickle nothing and it was expensive as hell we went to tandoori junctions morning buffet and it was much better than this food was fresh so much options in everything appetizer and sweets and it was even less expensive than this everyone should go there instead of wasting money over here

The only negative thing I got to say is that driving? There is kind of a pain in the butt because you have to go one way. That s not the restaurants fault but I would keep that in mind if you were traveling. The good things I wanted to say, or that there are plenty of parking like the traditional restaurant at north end. Their drinks elections very good to. My vegetarian friend, and I found that their selection were very delicious as well. A lot of Indian restaurants in Nanaimo have great vegetarian selections. This is a good spot to go to before you head to the ferry.

I placed uber eats order for vegetable soup and restaurant delivered me chicken soup instead. I won t recommend this place at all. Will take it as my learning lesson and won t order again from this place. How irresponsible the staff is!!! Awful experience ever !!!! They didn t even send me cutlery which I had mentioned specifically but they just ignored it.

Ive tried to defend this place over the years but after our last experience I just cant anymore, and I will not ever eat here again. $81.00, the entire order was at best Luke warm, to cool. We had to reheat everything except the naan bread and we live 5 minutes away. We were surprised when they said 20 minutes on a Saturday night and now I understand why. It was absolutely made hours ago and just thrown in Styrofoam containers when we ordered. I ordered a beef biryani and it was the worst Ive had anywhere by a country mile. The beef was absolutely inedible. It was so chewy I couldnt get through it. Big chunks of stewing beef improperly cooked to a tough chewy mess. No yogurt provided with it. Likewise the same with my sons butter chicken. I really dont understand whats happened with this place, but what a disaster. The only saving grace was the pakora was decent. With so many Indian restaurants in Nanaimo now to choose from, I was left pretty annoyed I chose to go here for my Saturday night. It was just flat out terrible.

Weird how all the five stars are made by different accounts and they only have a history of one review. Beware. Got some butter chicken dinner and the chicken is literally dry and old. It s not fresh and disgusting!! Called and complained and they told me to bring the food back into to get a new dish, and the manager said no one else complained about the food cutting corners anywhere they can. Never going back again! Food is over priced for some left overs.

My wife and I ordered takeout from Manviros last night and the whole experience was fantastic. The owners and staff are super friendly, the restaurant is clean and cozy, and the food was excellent. 100% would recommend.

Why keep your restaurant open for dine in if you are not interested in serving the guests. Went there for a night snack with friends, the server/ owner sat us on a table and went back chatting with someone. Didn t even bother to greet properly and serve water. Had to shout from far away after waiting for 10 minutes to ask for water. If you are too busy to chit chat then why even bother to keep your doors open for business. Food was good but service is not worth spending money. Not a person who would complain since I work in customer service too and I know how challenging it could be in certain times but what I witnessed is not even close to be called customer service.
