Order the "Butter chicken poutine" to stay and I guess they didn't want me to stay... then realized a few steps down the sidewalk when I opened the brown bag let down realized it was only fries and sauce... for $10... don't recommend.
So happy with this place. We were visiting from Kelowna and thought we'd try it out. The naan was sooooo good, and the butter chicken was incredible. I'd come back here anytime and wish we had a place like this in Kelowna.
Really enjoyed food here! Staff is very friendly! It was our first time on the island and it exceeded my expectations! We came for breakfast and were back for dinner same day! Amazing experience! I would undoubtedly recommend anyone like to have indian cuisine! 😊
Great food Coming from Vancouver and looking for Indian food. Great restaurant for all yours need. Chef Anand make such a delicious Paneer karahhii Thanks for such a wonderful experience Highly recommended
What a fantastic meal we had. Great food and service, staff were lovely. One of the best meals we have had in our 3wk holiday across Canada from Toronto to Rockies, Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Would highly recommend.
We came to this place in BC day on 5th Aug, see we were lucky to find a restaurant open on a stat holiday as the hole town was closed. The waitress was so friendly, attentive and caring to place us at a corner seat with good view a way from loud crowd. And, finally the food we order was truly one of the top Indian food, even rare to find in Vancouver. I have lived in Malaysia and know very well what a good Indian spice and food can taste. Finding this place with such a quality was absolutely a good ending experience to my trip, before I catch my ferry to back Vancouver. Highly recommended.
Food was delicious. Waitress was friendly. I had my spice level “Indian Spice” and it was pretty hot. Would recommend!
I didn’t expect to get that good food and service in Nanaimo, BC. I really love how that beautiful lady was welcoming everyone and asking if they need something. She was very welcoming and food was delicious. We tried their buffet and ordered some dishes separately . Everything was just perfect. The naan were really good not just plain flour I think these were wheat . I liked it. My family loved the atmosphere and enjoyed the meal.
The service was very slow they don t even know that somebody is waiting for the food
I never leave reviews but If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I take the ferry from Gabriola island at least once a month to get food from here. It is some of the best food I have ever eaten. Ive had lamb Biryani, chicken masala, golden fry prawn, samosas, korma beef, veggie and chicken pakoras, breads, rice dishes, chai, chutneys, gulabjamin (I hope Im spelling that right) etc. and its all OUTSTANDING. I came here for Christmas dinner last year and I mustve told them 5 times that it was the best meal Id ever had. Staff is so kind, buffet is amazing, Beautiful interior, and very good portions and prices. Go here! You wont regret it!!
One of the best in nanaimo
BEST Naan ever!
This place looks really good and well decorated and our food came fast and the food tastes so good
Fantastic food. So many fabulous flavours
Just happened to be in Nanaimo on a day trip, and was walking by this gem. If you are looking for tasty Indian food, I can not recommend Tandoori Junction enough. Great food and friendly service.
They charged a lot and gave nothing . No sense of speaking .
Good food, good music, perfect ambience for dine in with the amazing service. Lamb biryani must try.
Loved food and amazing service! Beautiful atmosphere! Food
Good foods very yummy
Disappointed with the rudeness of server, didn t even asked for water. Food was eadible. Her rudeness spoiled all the experience. Will never visit again.
Amazing food and service.Appreciative service even in busy times.Highly recommended place for Indian food
Vegetarian options: Food was delicious. I tried Chole Bhature, Hakka Noodle, vegetable pakoras and chai (chai is must have). Would highly recommend this restaurant to all. Food
Excellent food and service!
Worst experience ever..sticky and patchy menu card and the floors were giving a bad impression but proceeded with ordering chicken biryani and tandoori chicken..they weren t cooked today for sure..straight out from fridge to oven to us.. Didn t expect this..very bad.. Food
The food was excellent, with each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The service was also commendable attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in a pleasant setting.
Awesome place, must visit. Reasonable prices and good food with good quantity. Thankyou
Excellent Hospitality and Their food is really good I recommend Shrimp Biryani

Very tasty food
Need to improve
Wonderful food and amazing service.best Indian food in town
Love this place
Best food quality for indian food so far must go to the restaurant every time going to nanaimo.
Excellent food and service!
The worst restaurant I have been. They charged 20$ per person for Buffet, but there were merely any items, and they mentioned it as spl buffet, the curries dont have any taste. Never going to this restaurant again and I dont recommend this for any one either.
Excellent wholesome Punjabi food. If you are an Indian tourist in Nanaimo, it is a great source of comfort food. Generous servings. Had the palak paneer and rotis.
Amazing service. Good came out so fast and fresh. They are always happy to serve you even 20-30 minutes before close. Definitely recommend
I had food from there was garbage no taste never go there again restaurant is like junk place not clean
Authentic Indian food in Nanaimo. Great food. A must try! Portion sizes were good. Lots of leftovers
Bought Kadai paneer today and loved the spices and taste of the dish. They serve the best kadhai paneer in town for sure. Potion was enough for 2 people as well. Great Job!
Its ok. Not busy enough for it to be fresh
Excellent Food and Good Customer service
Vegetarian options: Food is so delicious Food
I usually avoid reviews, but trying to help the visitors to Nanaimo to find good Indian food, Amazing food second time i tried , every thing was super tasty, tandoori roties, Malai Kofta, Dal , Mango chatni , raita , salted lassi and kulfi. Vegetarian options: All veg available Parking: Parking on the road
Food was okay, not upto my high expectations for native Indian
Great food and service
Delicious!! So many foods to try and a great lunch and dinner buffet
Great food
Must try the gol gappe over here.
Their golgappe is to die for . Proper indian taste. Must visit
Delicious food. Great service. Would recommend you try!
Awesome food awesome stafff .. i love it
Excellent service and food Try once u will love it Food
The flavours of the food were very good. Our group partook in the buffet. It appeared though some of the food had been sitting for a while, the staple, butter chicken, seemed a bit runny and the Chana Masala was very cold. The staff was very friendly and attentive to the needs of their guests.
Good food (had the buffet), great service, and friendly staff
We ordered Tandoori Chicken and it met our lower expectations. Chicken tasted as if it was reheated, not freshly made and it was hard to chew. Quantity was lesser than what you would usually get at other Indian restaurants. Would not recommend for Tandoori items.
Honestly one of the worst customer service places. I was waiting for an answer for a question and while waiting my eyes wandered and I couldnt help but notice giant silver fish climbing all over the service desk and all over the forks and knives. I tried to ask a very detailed question about saag and kheer and boondi raita and she looked at Me like I was insane and was completely unhelpful. I grew up in Abbotsford. I cant tell you how much I miss Abbotsford after having to try to get just a simple order of samosa with regular chutney. Seriously lacking in customer service and menu options. They are not open to getting other people into their food or culture and it really shows by the way I have been treated each time Ive TRIED to give them the benefit of the doubt but it is consistently horrible service and unhelpful and unapologetic attitude. If your in the market for that instead of food than youve come to the exact right place. Id rather just wait till 6 and go to the Hindu temple. At least I know its good food and I know what it is Im getting. Which will be roti saag and boodi raita with a side of chia and saffron rice. I will never ever again attempt to order anything from here including directions to the gas station! I can get 10 samosa with 2 portions of chutney for 15 and I can get 4 roti for 2$ They charge you 3$ for 1 and cant even tell you how many is in one order...Im not paying 3$ for one dang roti at most it should be .50 to .75cents per piece by all means charge that price for Naan but for roti youre dreaming.
I had good food here. It was a special Friday night where they had buffet which was amazing. It comprised of all the indian food that i desired for.
The food was very tasty Food
I always enjoy coming here. Such a friendly atmosphere and great food! Thank you!
Everything was amazing. These people deserve a lot more business. Food
Awesome food and friendly staff and gud service.Really recommended place to eat Indian food
Food and service was amazing we will definitely be back <3
I went this evening with my mom husband and my little baby girl.I loved the experience.service was amazing
Very good food and friendly staff. Must visit
Best spinach chicken in town! also great service
If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I got a delivery for work here two days ago and thought I would would grab a couple Coca Colas while I was here. It felt really calm and the guy that helped me was super awesome but when I peeked at the menu, I was so shocked! Everything was dirt cheap. Cheaper than any other Indian Cuisine place in Nanaimo, I had to try it. Came back today for a butter chicken from the menu, but the guy showed me the all you can eat buffet and let me choose. I have only had the stereo typical/Americanized foods before, so almost everything in the buffet, I never seen in my life. I knew it had to be good because these guys clearly werent at work, they were at their passion and clearly knew what they were doing, so I bit the bullet and tried a little of everything. Never ordering the butterchicken anywhere again. This was some of the best food I had in so many years and I dont even remember any of the names of the dishes. I had to leave a $20 tip on the $20 buffet charge. 100% tip is what this place deserves (though they obviously never mentioned a tip). I will be back next Saturday! Im going to be looking forward to it all week!
Tandoori junction is a culinary gem!exceptional flavors, attentive service, and cozy ambiance.A must visited for authentic Indian cuisine lovers!
Best indian food ever

Best food and service. Recommend everyone to visit here.
Excellent place the food is finger licking delicious. Highly recommended.
Super delicious food ,The best part I liked is about the hygiene they follow. Highly recommended for authentic Indian cuisines ..
Been here a couple of times and the food never disappoints. The service is always really friendly and the food comes out rather quick. The prices are absolutely fair, everything s quite affordable in my opinion!! Vegetarian options: They have a whole page with vegetarian options, tried a bunch and they were all delicious.
Authentic food .. humble staff.. wonderful atmosphere . Please visit highly recommended
Had a dinner with my friends last night...all tandoori dishes was so yummy and good the naan bread was to soft... highly recommend please visit
Excellent option for Indian food Vegetarian options: good veg options are available Food : 5/5 |
Great food, friendly staff. I come every time Im travelling through Nanaimo.
This place is wonderful. Im picky with my east Indian and have found a new favorite place. I even got my husband (who hates trying new foods) loving it. The woman who owns it is very friendly and accommodating. Im very happy supporting this couple. Food : 5/5
Lovely food, great service and homely environment. That s all I have to say!!
Had a fantastic experience here this week. The food was amazing and the service was great. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves Indian cuisine.
Literally the worst customer service I have ever had. The lady was so rude and staring at us the whole time we were eating. The food came cold never going there again
Very good food. Best pakoras in town :)
Wonderful Sunday Buffet Really enjoyed good food and good service
I ve had their lunch buffet a few times it has a excellent selection of items , l must say it can be a hit or miss but when it s hot and fresh for the price it s definitely a good feast of Indian cuisine . Updated : The new buffet is a hit or miss once again today was a miss won t be going back anytime soon .
Amazing food with amazing price.
We ordered butter chicken and garlic naan. I asked for mild spices but they put too much salt in it. I didnt like the taste.
Food was aswome and staff was very nice. Best part taste typically india i was searching got it
I ate several times there , they provide great service and atmosphere. In fact I order twice a week from there. Even in their take out food service they dont compromise in their standard. They main a very high standard in terms of service and food quality.
Awesome service. Food is always hot, delicious and fresh. I strongly recommend this place for Indian food
Very good and luxurious experience i got there at very lower prices . Ambience and food quality is awesome..!! Especially chicken korma got special place in my heart in terms of taste .
We have been here several times now and the food is very good. Only had buffet one time and it was pretty good. Love the curry and the naan bread. We will be back.
Worst Chole Bhature anyone can ever have. Bhature was like crispy papad. The fried rice was ok. Veg Manchurian was Good after we sent it back to make it hot.
Very rude service & food disgusting.
Im wondering if this place had changed owners or cooks. This was my favorite Indian restaurant, but the last time I went it wasnt the same food I loved, and we were talked down too. It was passive aggressive service. We were the only people in there and we were females. Maybe its time to Try a new place.
Ordered online through website. Super easy to order. Garlic Naan was top notch ! so good. Aloo gobi had a great heat and flavor! Great customer service. Check it out, you will not be disappointed.
The best butter chicken
The spam I got in the mail says $300 for the vegetarian tiffin special and $350 for the non vegetarian.
ok the butter chicken is fantastic, the mango curry chicken again fantastic, garlic naan super! food has been great every time. the waiter makes me think Im back in Thailand, but its still worth the wait, lol.
The food is excellent, I highly recommend this place!
I ordered Chana puri and gulab jamun. They sent the full cutlery the meal is so delicious. I am loving it!
Amaizing food as well as appetizer
Very good experience
Awesome place , food, staff , best restaurant at island .Recommended
Excellent service, delicious food . Buffet is Recommend cheap in price . Must visit
My buddy ordered from skipthedishes, we ordered butter chicken, and 4 garlic naan and omg the butter chicken tasted very bad and the naan were hard as a rock, we threw the food out and ordered from another restaurant say away from this restaurant!!!
I ordered daal makhni, garlic naan, Tandoori roti, fried rice and Raita. awesome taste, well served, Polite server Place has vibe if you want relax food. Food : 5/5 |
Ordered on skip. Never got any rice. Skip driver delivered to wrong door.
Love the expanded buffet
Taste is one of the best I ve had and very rich-full flavour. I tried their tandoori platter and beef vindaloo and both surpassed my expectations! The naan could be larger in quantity and food serving speed could be faster. Overall, recommended!
I have no idea how the food tastes. I walked in, went to wash my hands and the men s bathroom was FILTHY! It reeked like old pee, the floors were sticky, when I went to turn on the tap to wash my hands the sink insert almost came completely off the counter and the shift revealed a DISGUSTING black and brown filth underneath. The place was completely dead at 6pm on a Friday. Like clean your bathroom people. I can t imagine how gross the kitchen is when their bathroom is in the state it s in. I couldn t risk eating here so I went and ate elsewhere
A best indian food in town .. a very friendly staff with good knowledge about hospitality
Went here for my friends birthday lunch. They had buffet. It was so good, every item and the service was on point. Im also going to mention it was very affordable! I would share when their buffet was on and when you should go but literally could not find the details anywhere! So give them a call because it was bomb I wish I took pictures, I will take some next time I go! Probably soon!
Very fresh and delicious veggie curries. Excellent and friendly service.
If the Quantity matters then the best choice. Had a buffet with my daughter. Enjoyed.
Service is amazing. We asked to pay right away because we were worried about catching the ferry - they rushed our food so we wouldn t need to stress! The lamb masala was also one of the best I ve had and the garlic naan was flavourful and the texture was just right.
The only reason Im giving a 4 star review is because a couple of our dishes didnt have the right heat. My husband got a Biryani that was very good, but too mild. My son got the prawn vindaloo and it was too spicy for him. Fortunately my dish was perfectly spiced so I swapped with my son. The Naan was good, the samosas were good. Highly recommended!
I would not recommend this restaurant. The last time I went there for dinner with a friend, my order of Chicken Tandoori was very over cooked, and the naan was very dry. On top of that the server was very pushy constantly asking us if we wanted to order more food. Also, my friend asked for mild spice, which they clearly didnt get, as they were sweating the whole time.
Had there pizza off of skip the dishes. Not sure if it was becuse of the delivery or not, but it was a little doughy. BUT, if you like spice get the butter chicken or the Canadian. Sauce and toppings were incredible. I will be coming back.
Some of the best chicken korma Ive had in a long time. Will absolutely be ordering again. **Update** samosas are excellent and their vegetable pakora is so delicious and not heavy at all.
Tasty food. Fast service. Hakka noodles were awesome.
Delicious food with great hospitality.
Had really bad expierence dont ever visit this place chef doesnt even wear cap it took 15 min for server to hand over the menu really bad customer service they were only focused on skip the dishes dont care about dinning customer no hygiene at all.
Worst experience ever. Chefs take a hell lot of time to prepare my food.we had to wait for our order to be served its not hygienic at all.also we were served late and other customers were served first. Worst Indo restaurant ever.
Worst experience ever.waiting was so long. Had to get embarassed infront of my colleagues when my food took too long to prepare and serve. Worst restaurant ever
Delicious food and decent prices. We often have a night out here to enjoy some authentic Indian Cuisine. I have had similar dishes from other more expensive restaurants around the island that have not matched. Great convenient location in Nanaimos downtown. Try the Palak Paneer!
Im very sorry to give 1 star but Please dont visit this place. There are many nice Indian restaurants to Dine-in in Nanaimo. Quality of food wasnt great nor the taste. Hygiene was poor. Strawberry Lassi here tasted like Strawberry flavored yogurt (Activia) sour. And I have much more to write about this place but Ill just leave it here. I wont recommend this place. Will never visit this place again.
Worst experience ever. Found hair in my food , please avoid this place at all cost. Would not recommend this place even to my enemies. Rude customer service and exceptional bad ambiance.
Healthy salads and masala dishes here. Our waiter was very polite. I had fun eating here.
I ve been ordering the butter chicken, naan and rice for about a year now. The best butter chicken in Nanaimo and it is ALWAYS consistent with taste and size. Tandoori Junction is definitely a hidden gem in downtown Nanaimo. Amazing.
Way better pizza then I thought it was going to be. Very amazing service as well. This is a must go to restaurant
Food is delicious! However it s not really a wheelchair accessible location. The entrance is ground level but the door to go in isn t accessible (no button), and the women s washroom is down a set of stairs. I don t know if the men s washroom is accessible or not.
Wonderful food with excellent service. Great taste and good environment
Just tried them for the first time, got the butter chicken and some vegetable pakoras and it was amazing. Im hooked and will definitely be ordering again probably today even
Had saag lamb, was great! The place has the vibes of a 90s pub restro in Mumbai.
The poorest service I have ever seen of any restaurant. They offered us the buffet there and all the trays for the buffet are empty we waited there for 30mins and nothing was there on buffet table we even asked them couple of time. After lot of waiting we finally got something to eat and it taste real bad and everything was so oily
About today s visit Main course was cold, snacks were not even appetizing, however for desert and gulab jamun was so delicious.for me $25 for cold dinner is not worth it
Bad experience , bad customer service
experienced the Worst customer service, cold food.
I have been to this restaurant couple of times. My experience has always been great. Great taste, exceptional service. I would totally recommend this place to someone who is looking for authentic Indian food.
Best and authentic food.Wide variety in buffet :)
I loved the food , atmosphere and interiors.Staff were super friendly and service was so good. it s a very nice cuisine buffet and lots of options to choose from. Food quality is well maintained . Had a great time here and i would definitely love to go again and again.
I originally tried the pizza at Tandori Junction at the recommendation of a co-worker and the food and service did not disappoint! I ended up going back to try the buffet and the choices were great, loved the chicken biryani and goat curry the most followed by some sweets....gulab jamun, yum!
Such good food and great service!
Had the buffet for the first time. Huge selection and tasty food. They have my favorite onion bhaji ever.
Lovely Indian buffet!
Worst food ever tried so far
I jst went to this restaurant but the food they served was stale. I got bacterial infection nd i was sick for two weeks. It just took away my voice and i did suffered alot. I called them but nobody received the call. Its my suggestion that increase ur food prices but atleast serve fresh food. I wont ever step in this restaurant
Food is delicious and super traditional! Loads gluten free and vegan options, super friendly and accomodating staff, and great location. Will be back, also Pokhara here is
Waitress ignored us thru the whole experience, the food at the buffet was basically empty and wasn t replenished at all during our dining. Asked for water and received luke warm tap water took until then end of our meal to get a drink menu, 1/2 of which was crossed off and the drinks we tried to order also weren t available. Needless to say we won t be back.
Great selection at the buffet.
I was very disappointed with food. Tasteless, not hot as in cold food buffet style.
Service could have been faster, but the food was top notch Indian fare. The Fish Pakora and Lamb Rogan were my favourites.
Food was okay but the service from the waitress was so poor. No manners, very disappointed.
Pathetic experience this time. I ordered my food for take out and it was over cooked. Couldn t even eat full.
Google said it was open. It was closed.
Wow! This place never ceases to amaze me. The butter chicken and garlic naan is some of the best Ive ever had! The chefs always hit the perfect spice level when asked what level I prefer. Great service, outstanding flavour and great portions. 10 out of 10...everytime! See you again Tandoori Junction!
This place seriously just needs to close their doors. We had THE RUDEST waitress Ive ever had to endure. We did NOTHING to deserve it - just rude and disrespectful right out of the gate. There was one table of 2 people and it took us nearly 2 hours of waiting for our food. I wont be going back.
Very good food and good service
Usually get delivery and I love the food here. Excellent palak paneer.
Picked up take out this evening our first time trying Tandoori Junction. We ordered hot Lamb Vindaloo, mild chicken tika, Butter chicken, garlic nan, vegetable Byrani, dal also the mixed appetizer plate. Since moving to Nanaimo 5 years we have really missed a great Indian Restaurant. Now we have one. By far the best take out for taste, freshness and value. We could easily have ordered two entrees for the four of us - lots of left overs for lunch tomorrow.
I came to Naniamo first time and randomly found this place for lunch. Amazing ambience, service and staff. Coming to food, delicious. Loved it!!! Must visit.
Best Indian food Ive ever ordered, plus the staff were very welcoming & friendly.
The food is pretty good, unfortunately it can take some time. Last time I went, it was empty but still took time to get orders in, and drinks. I also got takeout, and had to wait. So, food is standard but dont expect the best or fastest service.
Awesome...felt like India in Canada
Really bland food and the service was almost no existent .
I ordered the chicken tikka and garlic naan bread. The chicken was good, although I asked for medium-spicy and I think I got mild. The vegetables that came with the chicken looked a bit wilted, and the naan had big chunks of garlic sticking out of it. However, although the food looked a little weird, everything tasted OK. I suppose this isnt bad for $21. I wish the chicken had more of a side with it (maybe a little rice?), but it is what it is.
Food was average
Amazing food and customer service tried chicken tikka best tikka I have ever had
Best Indian food i have ever had.. being a vegetarian I have always got same flavour in all the dishes from other restaurants, there every dish taste different and delicious tried almost all of there veggie dishes my fav ones are aloo gobi, spinach paneer and malai kofta Give it a try
There food look like 2.or 3 days olds Mutton briyaani Waste of money
Great food and excellent service.
Total waste of money ! Ordered butter chicken, fish pakora, tandoori chicken, fish chilli, garlic naan, paneer chilli. My 9 year old comment about butter chicken and rice : it is like eating rice with water Owner called me Last minute before pick up and said one of the items is unavailable. Fish chilli and paneer chilli were sweet and taste like sweet Chinese sauce. Garlic naan had no taste. Not a single dish was good Indian species flavour. Do not waste your money. Gave 1 star because no lower option .
Hearty portions Great Service Pretty good value for money.
Great food, great service, huge portions!!!
Excellent food. The best Indian food in Nanaimo.
Food was delicious and the server was very helpful and service was good
Good Indian Food... Friendly staff.
We had a smashing lunch of veggie manchurian, fried rice, and paneer biryani here and every one of them was spot on. Light, flavorful, and most importantly, not swimming in ketchup or oil. They got it SO right despite being located on a far flung island (at least by my personal non-islandy standards).
I came from Alberta and tried the food here and honestly this is an Excellent place for authentic Indian food , great service and I am a permanent customer for them whenever I visit here
One of the worst places! Saw rats everywhere
Worst Indian food Ive ever tasted. Lacked in flavor. Butter chicken didnt taste good at all. Had a lingering seafood aroma/subtle flavor to it. Not sure what that was about. Ordered hot but didnt even taste the heat at all. Mild would be over stepping the description here. If I could rate this 0 stars I would. We were trying a different restaurant tonight but i will be taking my wallet elsewhere....back on over to gateway to India. If you havent tried it Id really recommend Gateway to India. Not this place. Never this place.
Really bad experience with Tandoor junction. They have a reputation of serving old and left over food and they definitely live up to that reputation. Only go to their if you have no choice.
Taste Excellent worth the prize
The good was great! The atmosphere was awesome! You gotta eat here.
Very delicious food
The customer service was terrible, we got a very unwelcoming feeling when going in right from the start. The butter chicken was mediocre and the other dish was the wrong spice (we asked for mild which it clearly wasnt) when mentioning this to our waitress she simply said she would ask the chef if it was mild then brought out a bowl of yogurt telling her to mix it with the dish a few minutes later. When explained to that it tasted different (as she has ordered it many times) the waitress just laughed before walking away. The only time we got any service was when we asked ourselves (we were the only two in the restaurant at the time) most of the time the waitress was in the kitchen joking with the kitchen staff leaving us feeling awkward when trying to look for her. Wont be going again in the future.
