Felice Cafe in Nanaimo

We ordered the mango lemonade fizz, an iced latte, the bulgogi beef burger, and the fried wontons. The lemonade and latte were delicious and a great size for the price. The bulgogi burger was tasty and the fried wontons were wonderful. The service was super fast and friendly!

Hidden Gem in Nanaimo! Quiet but vibrant atmosphere where the food and service are exceptional as well. Prices not too high either would highly recommend

Great little cafe tucked away between the biological station and the ferry terminal. Easily my favorite place in town for bubble tea (all dairy free). Owners are very friendly, chill vibes, and a great stop if you re passing through Departue Bay.

Great korean food and bubble tea

Perfect place, perfect food i ve been here twice now and it s definitely the best place to eat near Departure Bay, the atmosphere is really nice when it gets late, and the service is excellent, kind staff and clean establishment. The prices are iffy but still pretty affordable for the quality. I really like the homemade feel of all the food options, the beef Bulgogi burger with fries and a bubble tea or a coke is a must. Great overrall thank you! Vegetarian options: They have veggie cilantro and veggie glass noodles Parking: Nice parking space infront of business Wheelchair accessibility: There is great wheelchair accessibility with a ramp.

Really good food and lemonade!

The most beautiful cafe. I used to go to Wellington, and when it was over at the other location I would always go there on my lunch break. Made so many good memories. And now that I m 22 I still come here whenever I can. The most sweetest owner and the most yummiest food, and of course the best bubble tea!!! Thank you for everything that you do!!

A very small and well maintained cafe. We reached this place accidentally and honestly this happened to the best place in Nanaimo. Great food. Their potato fries were really good.

We had spent the long weekend at Nanaimo on Victoria Day weekend, and we were really overwhelmed by the friendliness of people we have met in Nanaimo. Unfortunately, it wasn t the case for this Cafe. We went to this place to get drinks and foods for friends and ourselves on Saturday afternoon, and we ended up spending over $120 total for the takeout food and drinks orders. Despite the high value of our orders, we felt overlooked and undervalued. There was only a table occupied at that time, and even though we only had 4 people in our group, they still did not want us to wait for our orders inside the cafe. What made the experience even worse was that after we had waited outside for 20 minutes without any update on our orders, my friend decided to go in the cafe trying to ask them about the order status. The Asian staff in the Cafe did not even greet or ask her why she entered the cafe, but just rudely yelled at her to stay outside of the cafe and wait for her order outside... Even when he handed over our food after they were ready, his lack of courtesy was especially disheartening, considering the amount we had spent on our food and drinks that day. We seriously had no idea how this cafe has such a high review rating, and if the staff wasn t Asian, we would even suspect it s a racial thing. The only possible reason we could think of was that maybe it s because we were not from local areas, and they just simply don t like visitors from the mainlands like us Luckily, this was the only unpleasant incident we had encountered for the long weekend; everyone else we had met and every other place we had been to in Nanaimo were all so welcoming and heartwarming. As for this cafe, the whole experience was so horrible that we feel that this establishment is an embarrassment to the Nanaimo community, and we definitely WOULD NOT recommend this place to any visitor that are only there for their vacations.

My favorite spot in this city, since their previous place. Staff is always nice to me and family/friends, and I always love to go there to sit and work/read/eat/write.

A cozy café on Departure Bay. Came in hungry and left highly satisfied. Had their Crispy Chicken Rice Bowl, Veggie Glass Noodles, and two Nanaimo Bars. Sat in the corner by the window and listened great music while we ate. Service was swift and caring. Would eat there again in a heartbeat. Hats off to the Felice Café.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant with my girlfriend, it was surprisingly affordable compared to other restaurants in nanaimo and their food was phenomenal you couldnt get better French frys anywhere else. I would recommend asking for extra sauce if little sauce is an issue but other than that I would definitely come back and recommend to anyone in town.

Great coffee, food and service. If you ve got time before heading to the ferry this place is a good choice. The coffee is very good and the food is delicious. I had time to kill before boarding the ferry and I spent my time at the cafe drinking my coffee. The chef made my food just before my departure which was very attentive of her.

The staff at counter was very unfriendly,I asked for my order and he said here I told you already!and shoved it my way. He proceeds to tell that if we get a to go order we aren t allowed to sit in the chairs and eat it there. There were no other customers there,so no reason why we can t eat our paid order in a seat there! Very uncool.

these guys are the light of my life! every time i wonder in, they surprise me with the most delightful attitudes they are AMAZING love them with my whole being <3 they insisted on us staying inside because it was too cold to eat outside, after they were closed and even let us stay after while they were cleaning. we all appreciated it so much still!!

I normally don t write reviews but I felt I need to after my experience in this cafe today. My fellows and I were only there for less than an hour and a half and we bought beverages and were plan on buying lunch there while doing our work but before we got the chance to do that, one of the staff came up to us and tried to beat around the bush on making us leave because we were told they are usually busy during lunch time on friday s and saturday s, which we completely understand. What we don t understand is that why we were being kicked out when we did not disturb anyone and there were plenty of tables open and we would have gotten up and leave if we noticed more people started to come in but that was not the case. I am so disappointed with the customer service we received today because previously their customer service is great but after today I will not be coming back here and will stop recommending this place to my friends because we felt disappointed and humiliated on how we were treated when we did absolutely nothing wrong. It would have been nice if the store had a warning or a preferred time they would like people that have work to do come in on a specific time and just not randomly kick us out while we were trying to enjoy our coffee. Again really disappointed with this place and will not be coming back here due to the way it had left us feeling after today.

What a gem! We had the chicken wrap and the crispy chicken bento box. Delicious sesame dressing on the salad, perfectly breaded chicken, tasty BBT. And the setting is so cozy and cute. Lovely service. We will definitely be back!

Delicious bubble tea and great service

Got off the ferry and needed a bite before finding our airbnb. Found this cute, lovely place. Nice decor, feels so cozy. Of course, food is great too. Had the chicken wrap. Best taro bubble tea we ve had in a while. It was such a nice experience we ate there again before going back to Vancouver. Friendly couple/owner who took time to chat with us when it wasn t busy. Will definitely go back next time we re in Nanaimo.

What a charming surprise!! I ll admit from the outside, the whole complex is BUT inside this little Korean restaurant is wonderful! The couple preparing the goods were so charming, the bubble tea and smoothies lovely and refreshing, the music, decor and artwork -top notch & the food smelled great! If I d known, we would have gone here every day! Beach day in Nanaimo? Stop in!!! (Oh! And the have macarons! Yum!)

Felice is just a block or so behind the Country Club mall, on Departure Bay Road. Its easy to get there by bus, and theres ample parking. Felice has lovely owners, an interesting and varied menu, and excellent coffee. Ill be back!

Best fried wonton, wow, love them! I liked the bulgogi, will try the chicken next. Bubble tea was yummy. We tried the pineapple and would definitely get again.

I love checking out local coffee shops all over the island. Been to The Drip many times and it was my first time to notice Felice Cafe. So, went in for brunch and coffee. Did not order yet as my partner was in the washroom. I took the opportunity to take a video of their awesome interior design. But the guy behind the counter said I was not supposed to take video for privacy reason (its a coffee shop!) and he tried to debate with me, then he spoke to the woman probably his wife in their language. So I turned around and told my partner we should just get our coffee and eat brunch at another place.

We found this gem in nanaimo kids wanted bubble tea. This is a really clean place with a Korean fusion menu close to a beach side park ! We will definitely be back for lunch and or dinner.

This place is a real gem! Great atmosphere, quiet and very warm feeling. Service is incredibly friendly, Coffee is top ter! And while youre drinking coffee get a slice of cheesecake. Bulgogi and chicken options (the things I had) are full of flavor. This place is a must!

This is our favourite place to eat. Too bad its been closed the last 3 times we went there. I tried phoning 4 times today to see if they were open, but no answer (Saturday). Awesome first experience at Felice this weekend! Such a beautiful, bright cafe right next to Departure Bay Beach. Great selection of menu items, I went with their veggie panini (yum!) Never thought of a hash brown sammie, but it was awesome. The owners were very welcoming and the space was packed for their opening day. You can tell they are a well loved business in Nanaimo

Great food and really cool atmosphere that you won t find in Canadian chain cafés. In Korea they have fashionable cafés run by the owner like this one. I always remember how tidy and stylish everything was in Korea when I come here.

Cozy boba cafe by the sea, this new location is fantastic. Family run, well decorated, with fun hand drawn menus. Departure Bay needed a casual spot like this, for those of us tired of overpriced coffee or slurpees!

This is a hidden gem of Nanaimo. Not your average Cafe. The 5 stars is for the panini alone. The food is hand made, loaded with flavor, and well balanced. Pretty bangin bubble teas too! On top of that, the inside is super tastefully done with some upscale relax kind of vibes. Family owned, extremely kind. Much love Support local.

Great food, I enjoy the beef bulgogi lunch box. The strawberry cheesecake is perfect dessert to end my meal. If youre near Departure Bay Beach, stop by at this awesome cafe. They have kitchen break by 3-4pm (not sure if they keep changing it or if this is the fix time for the break but drinks are still available) so plan ahead.

Tried this place because its one of the few bobba tea spots, and it is really good! Also tried their homemade panini and really enjoyed it, all of that in a clean and welcoming cosy restaurant. I will come again and try more of their goodies.

Even though the menu does not provide an endless selections, every item is prepped with great attention to create great and balanced rates! The place looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, but the interior is pretty cute. I can tell lots of locals come here as it s still busy at 2:30pm.

Had supper there this week. The Bulgogi boxes were fantastic, with tender well flavoured beef. The chicken rice bowl was also excellent. The macarons and bubble tea were also delicious. Clean, friendly and yummy!

What a solid small business to support! Me and my friends went here on the last day of our week long Vancouver Island trip right before catching our ferry back to Vancouver from Nanaimo. Despite being so close to closing time the gentlemen (owner Im assuming) was extremely friendly and made sure to ask us about our trip etc. Food and drinks were great and the overall customer service was exemplary. 10/10 would recommend

This place is a really family friendly korean themed restaurant. When I was here after school I asked for a watermelon bubble tea and a chicken cesar wrap, the bubble tea was finished in 2 mins and the wrap was finished in 6 mins. The service was very quick and the staff were very nice. To be honest, I dont think I have gone to a restaurant this clean and friendly in a very long time. I love this place and would totally recommend it to other people. Vegetarian options: This place has a large variety of options available for vegetarians. The menu has lots of salads, wraps, and more foods that are veggies. Kid-friendliness: This place has multiple kid friendly features that allow kids of all ages to feel comfortable in this cafe. Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs to get into this cafe at all. This cafe is very accessible to people in a wheelchair.

Ordered macarons and bubletea, then I was told I cant stay inside the restaurant because the macarons are in a small paper bag which they call takeout container. Nobody asked me if I want to eat inside or takeout. If you dont want perpople to order and eat inside why dont you just close the restaurant and do something else.

Fantastic little spot. Our host/server was excellent! We tried the wraps, which were delicious, and a peach bubble tea. The prices are very reasonable and we will definitely be back to try the Korean burger! The menu board artwork is fantastic!

I love this place! I ve been coming for years :) It s local, it s cozy, the decor is so cool, it s right by the ocean, and it s got a great selection of bubble teas, drinks, and unique foods. And the couple that run it are super nice!

Decent food , good Boba drinks. However , my friend asked for the Nutella banana waffle with mango added , and the guy refused , saying it wasnt possible . (I think you should be able to modify your order) also after we ordered our waffles he asked if it was to stay , we said yes . Then remembered prior engagements and said (withing 1 min of placing our order) that we would actually like it to go . The guy said he cant do it , they dont have to go containers big enough for the waffles , I explained that he can do whatever he needs , cut them and put them in multiple containers if need be , because we simply couldnt stay . He continued to argue and finally said okay . We got our order a few minutes later and the waffles were neatly put into a perfect fitting container with nice little piles of whipped cream on the side . Why was there arguing when it was all perfectly fine fitting ? Overall , I like the place . But this experience was rather unpleasant.

Went in to try their small vegetarian menu, but was told they were out of the soy-bulgogi. I asked for another vegetarian dish, but was met with a very apathetic response of yeah, but its going to take a while. I found the response pretty off putting, it was clearly a burden to make any of the vegetarian dishes on their menu. So, I ordered an Americano and found that they only put 1 shot of espresso in a 12 oz cup. Having years of barista work in my background, I knew right away that the coffee wasnt going to be good. And I was right. Even with an extra shot added, the coffee was weak and thin. Their other drinks might be good, but coffee is NOT their forte. I also tried some of the macarons and found them sickly sweet. The fruit flavour is definitely fake extract based. Perhaps their Korean lunch dishes and bubble tea are what people rave about, but I was very disappointed with my visit to Felice Cafe.

I had no idea I lived next to such a gem. This place is so much more than I thought it was. I cant explain how great this place is. You just need to go. There are so many bubble tea flavors, homemade desserts like beautiful macarons, and delicious tiramisu. They also have the best topping choices for waffles and have dinner boxes with so much variety! Put this on your list of places to try if youve never gone. The service is also to friendly and sincere.

Always an excellent shop to get a bite to eat. The unique style of the shop with a drawn chalk menu gives a lot of flare. The food is solid and well presented. The desserts are to die for. Finally, the boba tea has so many options from the usual to unusual and all taste so great.

Delicious food, excellent bubble teas, coffees, frapps, and fizzy drinks. On top of it, the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and the staff is thoughtful and friendly. Definitely a new favorite!!

I always say good things about restaurants but a recent experience at Felice Cafe almost left me in tears for the first time ever. I got interrogated on why I wanted to take pictures of my food. Even after explaining how I love to support local restaurants and showing them my Instagram food page TWICE. Then I got questioned why I ordered so much food and that having to pack up leftovers would be double the work for them. I said I would pack up any leftover food myself which has been the more common practice since the pandemic. No apologies were offered. They were really rude. Anyways, they are closing down after this week....
