Consistently consistent matters. Very good Benny s for brunch x2 cooked exactly to order on repeated visits! Southwest brunch bowl was cleaned up by a teen that normally is meh to scrambled eggs. Hoping that the Butcher cut bacon and the way the chefs cook it stays. As a stand alone, it s perfect thick cut bacon. (Don t ever substitute it, I know how the food industry does this sometimes)

In town for Christmas and while always a fan of Browns everywhere, we hadn t been to this (North) Nanaimo location. It was a really good experience, and it had much to do with Jay our server. He was brilliant at his job, making each visit enjoyable and engaging. All staff were pleasant and proficient, and there wasn t a thing wrong with the drinks we had or the food we ate. A excellent example of everyone being part of the delivery in order to make it all work. Thank you.

Enjoyable experience at Browns Social House. Great environment and tasty food. Bellinis are the best around. A little pricey and the service was lacking a bit, but still a good experience.

I have visited this restaurant several times this summer, 2024, with family and friends. The food has always been excellent and the service has always been above and beyond. Staff here take pride in their work, and their workplace. The location is convenient and parking is easy. I will be back, lots :)

The first time i went to this place the fish and chips were amazing! The best I had in a very long time. Every time after that the meal quality got worse. it is now to the point where you have to send it back and they replace it with fish that is just as bad. You can tell just by looking at it, but apparently they cant. I stopped going there 6 months ago and will never be back.

It was a bit noisy when we arrived at 7:00 p.m. but by 8:00 p.m. it had quieted down quite a bit. The food was good and the service was excellent. I dont usually go to chain restaurants but everything else was closed on a Monday night. Overall, I would go again. Vegetarian options: The tomato cheese sandwich was actually very good.

We had a wonderful dining experience at the restaurant yesterday evening around 6:30 to later in the evening. Our group of 6 sat at Table 202 on the patio and were attended to by Thomas. His service was exceptional - friendly, kind, and very attentive. Thomass welcoming nature truly enhanced our evening, and we left feeling incredibly satisfied with both the delicious food and the outstanding service. Thank you for providing such a fantastic dining atmosphere!

Stopped into Browns for early dinner, our server was efficient and cheerful, our dishes were hot and delicious as per always! It was just starting to get busy so everything was served up quickly. Love dining at Brown s Socialhouse. Parking: Mostly parking is plenty but it can be somewhat difficult at peak times to find a spot, as there are also many other businesses located in this strip mall.

We went for a Friday night after work, enjoyed the lively atmosphere, the music, incredible drinks (I had the Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita) and good food was just what we needed to end the work week on! We had a chance to dress up and fee like wed gone out for some fun :)

I really want to share my terrible experience with Brown social Nanaimo. Everytime I order over the phone their staff and chef are so inefficient that they cant even take correct order. I I have ordered four times blackened chicken rice bowl and when I reach home I find there is chicken missing in my order. When I call the restaurant they ask me to come and replace it. The same thing happened today its 10.30 in the night and I find there is no chicken in my chicken bowl. I went all the way back to the restaurant gave their bowl back and they just replaced with a chicken bowl. The manger did not even offer to refund my money. He mentioned I will give feedback to my staff. Like really?? I dont care what feedback you give. My time is wasted I traveled to and fro two times just to get my order right?? This has happened now for the fourth time. Victoria Brown social was so amazing it never had such problem. But Nanaimo Brown social sucks!!. Everytime I order on call I need to tell them make sure chicken is there in the bowl.. .this is so embarrassing and frustrating. Such a bad customer service!

Brown s online is easy to order. Tried Crispy Cauliflower, Fried Chicken Ramen and Kung Pao Lettuce wraps. All delicious and perfectly packed.

They were so amazing here. We had a party of 9 so we made a reservation. We showed up about 30 mins early and they already had it all ready for us. Staff was so great and food and atmosphere was perfect. Love this place. Well definitely be back

Drinks are really good especially during happy hour! We got calamari and then nachos to share as a table then I got fettuccine Alfredo. I got sick off the calamari as it tasted undercooked and more fishy then normal. The nachos cheese wasnt very melted and didnt taste the best. Sadly the fettuccine Alfredos chicken was a little more chard then Id like. Hope to go one day again but, not the best experience sadly

Service was very poor. Waitress was on her phone. We had to get up and get her twice for service after waiting what seemed to be a long time for her to take our order and to check if we needed anything else after we were served.

It was ok. Fries were kinda dry got my drink incorrect and fish were small fillets. Nothin special. first time trying here. Kinda disappointed I had pretty high hopes based off others experiences. Maybe I just caught a bad day. Will have to try again and see if any better.

We had a fabulous family holiday lunch at Brown s and enjoyed the delicious food almost as much as the amazing service! Our excellent and attentive server, Taylor, was so very thorough when asking about a shellfish allergy at our table. When the dish arrived, the person who brought it confirmed with the kitchen that it was prepared with cross contamination safety measures in mind. This team takes allergies seriously, thank you SO much!

Love this place so much! Always a great atmosphere! The staff and bartenders are so friendly and nice all the time! Its my favorite spot to go in nanaimo. I have nothing but good experiences everytime I come here. The only negative thing I would have to say, is that the belini machine needs to be fixed, I miss having belinis, especially during social hour to put in my beer

Thai soup: delicious :) Beef dip: amazing :D Fries: dry and hard :( Dynamite roll: very fishy :P Service was decent but I would have expected some sort of discount after telling our server about the problems (plus the fries were nearly untouched on our plates). Alas, full price was charged.

Went here for a small family visit and loved it! The large nachos left us wanting more after we shared, but we got the calamari and it was a perfect light lunch! We also sat in the patio kind of area which was a perfect temperature! Very quick, I think we were only there for 1 hour! Will go again for sure!

My number one choice to go for lunch. Year around enclosed patio, for a comfortable less bar feeling dining experience. Inside the restaurant, a sports bar meets uptown feel. More noisy and sports channels to watch. I prefer the patio. The best wait staff on the island!

I have been here a few times with my Mum and the service and food is consistently amazing. Jay was our server yesterday and he absolutely RADIATES happiness - one of the best servers weve ever had, and just a wonderful energy he brought to our table. He went above and beyond with special requests and an extra to-go order. Highly recommended for both the food and staff - we look forward to returning when were back in the area!

My experience at Brown s was ABSOLUTELY the best I ve ever had. And Thomas, our server, was ABSOLUTELY the greatest part of it. An absolute gem. He went above and beyond to accommodate our party (we all suck), and gave us the best service possible. Would recommend Thomas (and therefore Brown s) to all my friends and family. I ve already stopped several people on the street and INSISTED that they stop by Brown s and see Thomas and his world class service. I will be back.

Ordered on Skip. We had burgers, quesadillas and noodle bowl, great flavour and portions, a bit pricey, but will order again.

Usually an enjoyable place but dissapointing food yesterday. My nachos barely had any cheese, and there was some gross cold corn like it hadnt been in thw oven at all. My friends chicken sandwich was so dry she had to ask for a side of mayo and she ordered it because it was so good last time!. Maybe new chefs I dont know. Service was ok, slow even without many people there. Would I go back and try the food again? Probably not. Picture is from the half order of nachos, all those chips and no cheese.

We shared the last piece of their famous carrot cake. I had the Thai Chicken soup and ceaser salad, which was very good.

We were a group of 18, previously booked in. Overall the service and food was excellent. A couple of people found the Thai soup too hot, but in general most of the group was very happy with the food. Check out was also very efficient and had been planned beforehand. A very enjoyable lunch.

A couple of times the chef has left the meat medium-rare, and it should be well done. Actually I decided not to insist and eat something different.

I had Thomas as my server, and I have to say I ve never experienced better service. He suggested the poké bowl and was SO knowledgeable and patient in describing it to me so I knew what I was ordering. Such a pleasure. You can tell they love their job, and they are great at what they do! Not really a review writer, but I couldn t not give him some praise!

the patio was way to loud even after I asked them to turn down the music as the speaker was right above me. We asked the server to wipe the table down and they questioned us as to why we wanted it done, [ just do it when the customer asks nicely ] there was crumbs. I ordered the burger with maple peppercorn bacon. It came with plane bacon. Server didnt even know such a bacon was on the menu and tried to tell me they only had one kind of bacon on all their burgers. My sister asked for a straw, I finally had to go get it myself. terrible experience.

Great customer service, and the food was great. Took our kids water polo team for a family team dinner, and they were accommodating and able to seat the 8 families together.

Great place to socialize for drinks or food

We had a group of seven and there was a full house. We got our drinks, orders taken and a visit from the manager to let us know there was a large party ahead of us and our food would be out shortly. We had excellent service and the food was!

Just had a delicious lunch - the table i sat at was sticky (had not been wiped clean) and when my food was brought, it was placed on the table, waitress left and I had no cutlery/napkin. Disappointing!

The last time I visited was October of last year.This was one of my favorite restaurants and I loved their tempura sushi. I ordered it today and it was half the size it was last year and 3 dollars more. The shrimp was very rubbery and the seaweed was tough to chew. Hardly any rice or that amazing reduction sauce. Really disappointing.

Always love going to Browns. The Nanaimo one didnt disappoint. Delicious bacon eggs Benny and Caesar with horseradish.

We came in for only drinks and a desert. Normally I dont favour popular eateries like this with a bar and music, however we found it pleasantly enjoyable to be seated separately in a protected outdoor heated space. The servers were angels, and the desert was likewise heavenly.

A solid choice for a mainstream bar/restaurant. The food is good, drinks are cold and Service is solid. The only honest issue is not Browns at all and that is the parking lot. Its a very tight, busy and congested lot and can be a real pain to get parking here during peak hours. Parking: Parking is shared with the other tenants in the Plaza. Shared with Starbucks, Noodlebox, Subway and Little Caesars along with other retail, its a tight lot and gets very congested at peak times in the late afternoons and evenings and on weekends.

We ordered for take out and the food was ready early, the servers were very pleasant, and the food was hot, fresh, and delicious!!

Everything not up to snuff which is unusual. Normally the service and food/drinks are very good, thats why we go. Tonight we were forgotten by the servers and had to flag one down after 15 min to get some service. Service spotty after that. First attempt at a martini was like dishwater although they did replace it with a proper one after that. Beer was a short pour. Kung pao tofu was good as was the crispy chicken burger. Just providing a balanced review here. We like this spot and dont want to see it decline.
