As always, this is a great place to eat. Not a huge menu, but what they offer is done well. And the on-site brewed beer is always excellent. Parking: Try the spicy peanut chicken noodles - theyre delicious!

Me and the wife went here for a lunch date. She had the salmon burger and I had the fish and chips the cod. I felt the portion sizes could have been a little bigger for the price on the fish and chips but overall well fried dont have any complaints with the cooking of said fish. Girlfriend says Simon Burger was good. A little on the fishy side lmfaoo. I think the interior could use some sprucing up or updating. Felt pretty plain but other than that salt of fish and chips

This place is such a gem! The food was fantastic (I had the avocado blackened chicken salad *chefs kiss*) and I went home with 6 cans of the Berried Alive beer. SO GOOD! The servers were all very friendly and attentive too. Will definitely be back.

It was competent. We arrived at 5pm to a nearly empty restaurant and were seated at a table on the way to the bathroom. We asked to move to the nearby table by the window and were told that it was reserved but if we could finish eating by 6:30, we could move. We felt uncomfortable so we stayed put. 5 minutes later they sat another couple at the table by the window without telling them they would have to leave. We wont return.

Our first time visiting this establishment. We were greeted at the door and asked if we would like to be seated in the pub or upstairs. We chose upstairs. We ordered our food and drinks. Our waitress Maddy was an absolute ROCKSTAR!!! Very efficient professional kind and a real.go getter. Great energy and attitude. The other staff helping and around were equally amazing. We will definitely be back for the great food and service. I highly recommend this place if you are thinking about a date night or just somewhere new.

Solid pub restaurant with familiar pub fare.

Silas was a very attentive server and knew his menu. Food was hot and delicious. He was very knowledgeable on the brewery and well being the owner son he was on top of his game. We went here because of the reviews we all wonderful comments. It didnt disappoint. I really wanted to try the Namino cheesecake but dinner was way to filling.

Barely three stars. One of two soups at our table was hardly warm. My black and blue burger was just ok but with a salad instead of fries it cost $28. If you are going to charge premium prices, please get ride of the flies in the dining room.

Excellent place to finish off the evening, or to finish off your trip to Nanaimo before you head out. Tons of beer to choose from, made in-house, and great food with large portions that leave you full. I love the staff as well!

Everything is great

Amazing beer. Probably the best on the island. Happy hour is a shockingly good deal. Parking: Parking lots above and below, restaurant access above, bar below. Kid-friendliness: Nice colouring pages, good kids menu, most of the staff smile and speak to children

Excellent burgers

Alise, our server was wonderful! Super bubbly personality and attentive to our table of six. Can t comment on the food as we didn t eat but the service and the drinks were great.

Last weekend my wife and I hosted a family and friends dinner at Longwood. Making the arrangements was easy. The dinner was superb and the staff most accommodating. During the meal we had excellent service. People raved about the meal especially the salmon. Well done!

They have the best beer in Nanaimo!

Good beer and good service. Don t know about the food, never tried any. Too bad they don t have a dog friendly patio. To be fair, they are in a location where they are not set up to have that.

My sister and I went out for beers for a 19th birthday and the food wasn t particularly great considering the cactus club is right there. The servers were trash talking their employers. All around weird experience:)

Lovely dinner

Food was great, service was pretty good.

What an incredible venue this is. Plenty of seating to select from, either indoors or outdoors, upstairs or downstairs. Starting with a flight of beer, we had the calamari with the house specialty salt on it, delicious!. I had the brewmaster salad, what an incredible dish. Lots of smoked salmon, lots of Bay shrimp and lots of chicken on top of a delicious bed of greens. My husband had the wild salmon burger with the house chowder and it was delicious. The service was fantastic. If youre lucky enough to be in Nanaimo , you definitely need to check this place out!

My wife and I stopped in for lunch the other day. My wife had a turkey sandwich, I ordered one piece Halibut and chips, when the food arrived, I had two pieces of fish on my plate, I mentioned to the waitress that everything looked great but I had only ordered on piece of fish, I mentioned as I really did want to be charged for two. She didnt really say anything, but a couple of minutes later she came back with a fork and a side plate and took one of the pieces of fish off my plate, she did not ask me if that was ok, she just took the fish. I was very shocked. She came back a little while later to see how lunch was, I said it was fine but I told her I was still in shock about how she just came and took food off my plate. A very strange experience.

My wife enjoyed the 3 fish tacos (with lettuce instead of tortillas), and I had two excellent pieces of cod, and chips, with a sleeve of IPA - all good. Dietary restrictions: Wifes dietary needs cheerfully met.

My friend and I visited for the first time. Our server, Sabrina, was charming. The menu is varied. Our meals were tasty. A nice experience.

Pleasantly surprised by this neighbourhood spot. The beer was good. Both the blue cheese burger and salmon burger were very enjoyable. The server was lovely, helpful and attentive.

Every time I go here. It always been great.

Longwood has great beer and good food. Upstairs the environment is what youd expect from a nice restaurant (ask to sit by one of the windows and youll get a great view of the mountain), and downstairs you get a great pub experience. They do better with pub food than fine dining. But this doesnt mean the non-pub food is bad; its that the pub food is so very good (e.g. the beef dip is outstanding!). The beer is great. They have fewer options on tap than some other local breweries but thats because the core set of beers they brew are very good.

Had a Gluten Free Beef Dip and fries. Delicious. First time in 5 years. So good. Dietary restrictions: Celiac

Great service and speed for our group who popped in quickly for a drink and some apples.

We stopped here on the way back home after a medical appointment in Nanaimo. What a great place to have a meal. The service was excellent, the food was generous and tasty and the atmosphere was great. We would not hesitate to stop again the next time we have to make a trip to Nanaimo.

I ordered the fish and chips and was disappointed. Tasted old and was quite soggy. The service was good as was the atmosphere. Not sure Ill rush back.

People: give the restaurant upstairs a pass if youre looking for a civilized meal. Just endured 90 minutes of thirtysomething individuals engaging in raucous behavior at the next table; other patrons were scarfing their meals to vacate the premises. WHERE WAS MANAGEMENT?? And can we not use our inside voices? Too bad, because both our food and waitress were great. Lots of restaurants to choose from in this town.

We went for dinner without a reservation with family and friends. The lady was extremely helpful in finding a table and settling us. She offered us different menu options and explained the kids meals. We ordered veggie quesadillas and a nacho plate (it was so large!). For the kids menu, we chose burgers and chicken nuggets with ice cream and a beverage. Everything was great!

My wife and I decided to stop here for a bite to eat. She ordered the halibut and I got the house burger and the Yorkshire Sliders. The fish was battered in a fantastic way. The batter was thin and the fish was thick. It was cooked to perfection and had lots of flavor. The side was fine. However, it was not served with tartar sauce. If it had been, it would have been 5 stars, since it wasnt, it only gets 4/5 fins. The burger was phenomenal! Everything about it was fantastic! The fries were crispy and salted just right! The Yorkshire Sliders were really good. I got it with the cheese sauce and it added a nice flavor. Now, being raised eating Yorkshire pudding, these lacked salt in the batter so they were a tad bland. Im glad I got them, but I wouldnt classify them as a re-order item. The atmosphere and service was great. The restaurant is visually appealing, the table and chairs are comfortable to sit at, the bathroom was clean, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a very nice experience.

Amazing food ! Great Beer !

Service was good. Food was okay. Could have been a little hotter. Liked the soup. Some staff did not seem happy. May e a bad day. I would go back hoping for a more uplifting experience and not just put food In my belly.

Always good food and service. But over time im really seeing prices go up and portions go down. I dont expect a platter sized meal, but i shouldnt be looking for more to eat so soon after i leave. A good meal, less accessible than it was in the past.

I m sure everything else is good and I wasn t even at the restaurant but I got some wings from family who went there for a dinner and they were disappointing. Definitely invest in a higher grade of wing because these ones were so cheap and just felt sad lol. Willing to try again tho!

We are not coming back! 50 min waiting for food. We was told that we can not get anything of main menu only what is on menu for Valentines. 20 min after, table beside us gets burgers hm on pasta that was served to me 4 tiny scallops and small piece of halibut cut in half, warm not hot! As apologies, waitress Sabrina brings cheesecake. So disappointing

I hosted a private party for my sisters birthday and 20 friends and family. We were able to rent the private room upstairs which was set out beautifully for us. We had several menu options for a group as large as ours including a hot buffet with options to suit our preferences. We had a server just for us, K, who was friendly, accurate, and kind. The chef, C, stayed and carved our beef before we all sat to enjoy a delicious meal that met every expectation we had. Delicious, hot, and beautifully served. Thank you to the team at Longwood for providing the perfect place for us. Vegetarian options: In a room of 22 people eating from a buffet containing beef and salmon, the Longwood provided a delicious vegetarian main dish for those who preferred it and they rounded out their meal with the buffer side dishes.

Very slow service. Food was only mediocre. We were just passing through town and left wishing wed picked somewhere else. It was busy so maybe we just didnt pick wisely.

Although I have eaten there a few times with no issues, something seriously went wrong last night, with the Chicken Parmesan I ordered. it came to the table with the chicken totally raw and the noodles were semi hard I returned the dish and went home hungry . the desert they comped me was very good, The manager and the servers were great very appolgetic I would have to think long and hard about a return visit .

We had the best dinner there for my father in laws birthday. We had a party of 9 and all of our meals came out quickly and exactly what we ordered. The staff were wonderful about asking us parents if the children could have drink refills. We felt very well taken care of. Will be back for sure. Kid-friendliness: The kids portions were a great size and came with an ice cream cookie that my kids cant stop talking about. Great value.
