Incredibly expensive for what youre served. Couldnt sit where we wanted to and pub was empty when we arrived. We were offered a choice of 2 tables that werent ideal. There is no soup. READ MENU CAREFULLY. Where the burgers are listed doesnt mean all the entries with the burgers ARE burgers as none of the entries actually tells you everything thats in the dish. I paid $21 for a dry, cold, chewy, bacon and lettuce sandwich. There may have been cheese but Im not sure. Dreadful. Waiter knew we were unhappy but got even more insincerely cheerful which was insulting. We thought these were burgers when we ordered and were bitterly disappointed to pay $25 (with tip) for something so miserable. Ill never go back.

Blink and you would drive right by, thats what we did! It looks just like a house, but they have converted the inside to a really nice little restaurant. Cod fish and chips were seasonal but amazing if you can get them!

Visited from Winnipeg, and we were suggested this restaurant from a local. The food was stellar (we had the Milton Burgers), the drinks were well crafted, and the environment was gorgeous and historic. Highly suggest to any visitors or perhaps the local who hasnt ventured in yet.

Probably the best food youll find in a Nanaimo pub and one of the only places making good cocktails. I cant think of a better local pub. Laidback, chill vibe to the place. Its in an old house with seating in several smaller rooms and on the patio, giving the place a more private/intimate feel but not claustrophobic at all.

Surprising little place, old house converted into a pub, easy to walk right by. Great food. Only minor complaint is that it was not an overly hot day but it was a little stuffy inside.

Wife and I are from the mainland, couldnt decide on where to get lunch, thankfully I listened to my wife. We both had the jalapeno burger with fries and spicy aoli. Im a burger enthusiast and this has to be the best burger Ive had. Our server Kim was absolutely the best. I highly recommend you try this place, you will not be disappointed.

Do yourself a favor, dont come to Milton Street Public House, and dont enjoy the sweet service in the cozy house, and definitely dont order the jalapeno burger and add bacon because if you do, youll be wanting to come back the next day, and the next day, and if you dont live here, best to stay away, so you wont need to travel so far to get the best burger youll likely ever eat.

Great spot for a meal and a drink just outside of the Old City Quarter. Built inside a historic house, it really brings a welcoming pub atmosphere. Very good food and wide selection of drinks.

wow!! what a great surprise. We came here while waiting for our ferry to Horseshoe Bay. We ordered Calamari - this was the best Calamari I Have ever eaten!! and also some chicken which was prepared to perfection!! I always feel great when i can give a place such a great review. Keep it up!!!

Such a great local pub. I was told before by others that the food was top notch but I was still surprised at the quality. We ordered wings, calamari and a burger at our table - the calamari may have been the best Ive ever had in terms of flavor and texture. The service was also fantastic in regards to attentiveness, friendliness and knowledge. Nice atmosphere too. Well be back! Kid-friendliness: Kids welcome

For starters, there appears to be parking in the back. The gate was closed when I arrived so I parked on the street but it was open when I walked up. Sat at the bar which was a little uncomfortable as there is very little overhang (knees and feet are against the bar). Food and service were great. Had the carbonara ... Outstanding.

Ive been to Milton Street pub about 10 times and it has always shown itself to be a fantastic place. It has a boat load of character, the food is some of the best in Nanaimo and all the staff are lovely. If you ever go and there is a hotdog/sausage special, get it! Get 2 as a matter of fact. Fatten yourself up on the deliciousness. If its not on special anything else off the menu is still amazing. Reuben! Caprese! Salad! All amazing. I tip my hat to you ladies and gentlemen! Thanks for all the great eats and hospitality!

We went there for the first time a couple nights ago, the food and drinks were fantastic and the service was great! Super friendly atmosphere, we will definitely be back!!

Its located in a house on a residential street. We were a bit hesitant to open the door in case Google was wrong and we would end up just walking into somebodys home lol The server was very friendly and the food was great. Bonus points for being open on Easter Sunday. Thank you!

Worth the wait! We stopped in here on our way to catch a ferry. We had over an hour and thought we had lots of time to order a salad with chicken. Unfortunately, after a a bit of a wait our salads had not arrived and we had to get going. The very friendly waiter packed up our salads and off we went. We sat in our car and had one of the best Caesar kale chicken salads wed ever had. The chicken was amazingly tender and flavourful and the salad was perfectly dressed with a deliciously tangy dressing. It was so worth the wait and we agreed that we would stop in the next time we are in Nanaimo for the chicken dinner. The place has a warm, friendly vibe and our waiter was very accommodating. In hind sight, we should have let him know we were on a slightly tight schedule and he probably would have suggested we order something else. But Im glad things worked out as they did because no exaggeration, it was the best Kale chicken Caesar salad Ive ever had and well worth the wait!!

This restaurant was a shocker. It doesn t look like munch from the outside, but once you step in you are greeted with a very quaint feeling along with a friendly atmosphere. The food was amazing. The calamari was mind blowing melt in your mouth, something I had never had with calamari before. The carbonara and the Jalapeño burger were both amazing. The service was very friendly and positive and I will for sure be returning. Some of the best food I ve had in recent years.

This place is unbelievably good!!! The calamari leaves me at a loss for words. It melts in your mouth! Lightly breaded with a wonderfully delicate aioli sauce to dip if you choose. I had the Jalapeño burger and I cannot recommend it enough! Sooo good!! I had to let my son finish it as I didn t want any negative thoughts (ugh, I ate too much) to be attached to this experience. Truly amazing!!

As a transplant from Toronto and Vancouver to the island I was looking for a great place to grab some chicken wings. Simple food that while standard on many menus they are not easy to do well. Discovered Milton Street Public House online from the reviews and went to check it out with my son. Great pub located in an old house with a ton of charm. Service was top notch but the food took centre stage. I had the traditional Hot and my son had the Korean wings. Both came with garlic Parmesan fries. Outstanding wings. Wing fans will tell you we are often disappointed but not here. Fantastic flavour and texture and I wanted to have another order. Fries are delicious and come with a spicy aioli. We now have a regular place to go for great wings.

Old turn of century house turned into a public house pub type restaurant. There were 3 of us and we each tried something different, Veggie flat bread pizza, Cabrese toast sandwich & Falafel wrap. On average meals will cost you $20, would definately try them again.

The owners and staff are totally on top of their game. Great food drink and laughter. Go there you will see us there at least twice a week. Took my friends from Whitehorse there last night Feb 24 2024 and they are still saying today how good it was. We had their Lamb and it was done perfect. Tks to all and we all will be back

Showed up to this place, heard it was good. Did not see a please wait to be seated sign so, we seated ourselves at an open table which mind you had no reservation sign like most restaurants usually do if the table is reserved. Proceeded to wait 10 minutes before even being acknowledged by a server and then asked if we had reservations which we did not, and they said that we can then sit at the bar which we did not want to do as a personal preference and then they offered us the wait list also not what we wanted to do so we left. Honestly need better organization and customer service.

Do NOT give your business to an establishment that merely doubles down on their bad behaviour when called out.

We popped in for an unplanned Valentines dinner. Even though we did not have a reservation, they still found a great seat for us. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Without exaggeration, the Jalepeno Burger was the tastiest burger I have ever had. It was a perfection of flavour and subtle heat. Quaint, cozy and unique atmosphere. We will be back! Highly recommended.

My husband, adult son and I met friends for lunch, and the whole experience was fantastic! Love the layout with tables here and there throughout, and the fact that it s in an older style downtown Nanaimo home makes the ambiance super cool. Each of us had something different off the menu, and all of it was really yummy, including the rotating beer on tap as it is one my favs! The icing on the cake was our server Colton he made the whole experience that much more awesome! We will definitely be making it our new go to!

Stopped for lunch ! They opened at twelve oclock, we were 14 minutes early. So we sat in the area outside to wait and eat. Staff are awesome, and the food was great and quick . Smiles and professional atmosphere. First time here, but not the last time. Im looking forward to trying other dishes. The price range is 15 to 30 dollars for a great meal.

On our way back to the states and this restaurant came up on my search. So glad we stopped! Lovely atmosphere and great staff. Loved the unique menu and service ware. They were busy and had not expected the crowd so service was a bit slow but we were well taken care of.

The food and service have gone downhill since our last visit. Not enough staff perhaps? Also, the roast chicken dinner ($$$) tasted like deli chicken with a can of mixed peas and carrots thrown on. Not going back.

Dietary restrictions: The chef was able to pair dairy free sauce to go with my cauliflower bites, (Korean sauce that was sooo good!) and made sure to inform me of any dairy in the food I didn t know/think about.. so kind of them! They cared. Parking: Parking on street and in the back.

The atmosphere here is great, the food is tasty and portions are generous, and the beer is ice cold. Exactly what you want from a pub. Both the BCLT and Caprese sandwiches were excellent. Would recommend for sure!

We stopped by for some drinks and snacks. We enjoyed the wings and crispy fries but the Star of the meal was the calamari. I don t typically enjoy it but will definitely come back to eat it here! Also friendly staff. Nice find for someone new to the area.

Every time we go to Milton Street Pub, the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is so warm and inviting. Our server, Kimberley, is always so friendly and funny, and she makes us feel special every time were there. We just cant recommend Milton Street enough!

Wow! Amazing food! Kimberly was serving our birthday group and was absolutely fantastic! We so enjoyed all of the food and drinks but the Calamari, Fries, Wings, Rocket Salad, Falafel wrap are all to be highly noted! Our group LOVED the whole evening. Tried to grab a table for two for dinner without a reservation this weekend ( ok maybe that was my error), but Wow was I greeted rudely and practically mocked for even trying! I haven t been to this restaurant for afew years and was really looking forward to returning. It would have gone a really long way with me if the hostess had greeted me in a polite, friendly manner and just said: So sorry we won t have you with us tonight, but can we make a reservation for you for another time? Instead I was quickly brushed aside. Disappointed

Small, quiet, quaint little neighborhood pub. I had chicken wings which were very tasty but the serving was on the small side. My wife had the tuna melt which she said was very good. Shout-out to our server as he was outstanding, very friendly and attentive. Pricing was par for a pub.

We stopped into the pub after work, before heading to the theatre. Ordered a carafe of wine along with the crispy cauliflower appies.. It was awesome! Some of our friends who never had the cauliflower were impressed!

Gem of a place. Great food and friendly staff in a cozy atmosphere. Especially love the chicken club wrap (smoky, creamy and delicious) and their spaghetti and meatballs (always spiced perfectly, fresh and hot). Their fries are out of this world! Havent had a bad meal. Its our go to spot in Nanaimo...no where else comes close!

The server recommended I sit at the bar as I was alone. I m glad she did, as the locals were friendly, engaging and knowledgeable about Marbled Murrelets, which is unheard of! I ordered the burger special. It was topped with sausage this evening and was the best burger I ve had in Nanaimo! I ve eaten hundreds of burgers in this city. Guinness in tap also a plus. Kimberly was excellent! Attentive, friendly and a great reader of the room. I will definitely be back. My first full 5 star.

This staffing shortage is really hurting our hospitality industry. I really would have liked to give Milton Street five stars, because I liked the food and the prices were reasonable, but the server was so harried and distracted that our experience suffered greatly as a result. We could have easily become regulars, but well probably let them get staffed up before we return again.

Can t say enough about this restaurant. The staff is fast, friendly, accommodating and the food is amazing. Their on tap Italian Pinot can t be found anywhere else. Thank you for a beautiful dinner!

Its an establishment built with character. Keep in mind it has a small footprint so when its full, its very crowded and loud. There is a tiny patio in the back. The waitresses are hands down fun, knowledgeable and respectful. The food has beautiful presentation.

Farm fresh, deliciously planned and presented. Mouthwatering explosion! I had the special which came with a salad with a sweet dressing, sautéed figs fresh greens and tomatoes. The pork and fig wrap had the same explosions of flavour in every bite. Highly recommend.

So pleasantly surprised. Not much was open on Monday, unfortunately, and when I pulled up to Milton, I was confused that it was a residential home. Once we walked in, we were welcomed and greeted by the server/host who was attentive and friendly. We had the fish and chips and it was so well fried and crispy and couldn t stop eating the fries. The salad was also fresh and had a nice serving of fresh cheese. I d come here for a relaxing atmosphere with solid food.

We went in to have a quick beer in the afternoon but ended up ordering the lamb sirloin to share thinking we might get hungry later on the ferry. So glad we did! It was amazing with lightly crisp outside and super tender inside. Cripsy bacon fried Brussel sprouts and wedges on the side. The creative sauces (one is beet based the other we couldnt tell) complemented the steak so well too! Staff was super friendly and attentive. The place was well-decorated with a vintage vibe. Would love to go back for an actual dinner next time were in town!

Great atmosphere and tasty food!

This is a small converted house and my concept going in was that it would be a much larger venue. It turned out to be quite small and intimate. They were set up for a large party and it was quite disappointing to see only one third of that large party actually showed up but the pro was, better service for us. My companions and I had different burger combos with their Calamari appie. The dipping sauce was a Siracha sauce and we quite liked it. The ingredients were all high quality and fresh, attractive presentation and the service.....it definitely warranted a good tip in our appreciation. Unfortunately, I was visiting and probably wont get a chance to return but I would like to. I dont give 5 star ratings often but this was a very good experience and I recommend this restaurant.

Just came here with my mom and we both had the burgers. Some of the best burgers ever!!! Everything was fresh & had amazing presentation. Atmosphere was very cozy, intimate and inviting. The host made us feel right at home! Will definitely be back and be telling all of my friends about this place
