The Rib Eye steak was done medium rare paired with the prawns was delicious. Service was excellent. Certainly would recommend

I just called in for pickup, as they have a take out menu online, my call was greeted by who I assume is their hostess. When I asked for a pickup order, she scoffed, asked me to hold on while she checked. She then explained that she thinks they dont do take out orders during Christmas. I asked you think or you know? She said she asked someone near her. I was fully prepared to drop close to $100 on a meal, and not take up a table by myself. I honestly dont understand the issue, and Ive been planning on treating myself for the last few days. Ive had one other experience with this restaurant in the past and it was poor, this just compounds it. You wont see me.

We were sadly disappointed in the food and the cold service we received from the server this evening. The bus person was lovely and we appreciated her kind service. The food: Greek ribs and Greek salad were bland at best.

I was expecting amazing - didn t quite hit the mark with over cooked steak for true medium rare. My friends food was also decent but not what we had hoped.

Great old school steak house. The vibe is definitely a throwback, but it is true to its roots and authentic. The staff are lively and attentive and the food is delish. Lobsterfest is an annual event for us... The lobster bisque is the best!

Bold knight is one of our most favorite restaurants in Nanaimo! I love the Lobster and my husband always loves the steaks. The staff are amazing and so conscious of checking in with you and making your dining experience excellent. Thanks guys! Liz and Nick

Wonderful food and exceptional service. We had the crab and lobster stuffed cannelloni topped with scallops. Dinner started with a warm seasoned bun and lovely little salad with house made dressing as well.

Awesome evening and food. I found the prawn lobster steak dinner that I had was generous for the price and meal came w fresh vegis. I felt the seafood lacked a bit of flavour, especially the calamari it was cooked perfect but needs some zing.Otherwise good food.

The food was okay, but for the prices the food should have been memorable. I remember the Bold Knight of 35 years ago and definately not the same class of food. While the menu is similar the quality if yhe food is not. The steak was ok, the scallops were definately not from the east coast. The lobster was very good and the baked potatoe was awesome. For $100/ person I expect better food.

I am a picky eater but with Bold Knight, it s always a delight to eat there. Service wise just depends on the personality. Atmosphere is always right.

We went for our anniversary, and another couple who were celebrating a birthday. Service was excellent and the food outstanding. We will be back.

Well that was a pleasant surprise. Table was watered upon first seating and the meal was delicious. First time and not the last. Love the retro feel. Keep it. Dont bother ever renovating because the food is awesome. Service was amazing too. Been in Nanaimo for 17 years now, and just couldnt get past the look of the location. Never judge a book by its cover, I have relearned. Thank you for an awesome night, right through to the end with the lemon cheesecake. Absolutely pigged out.

An amazing adventure back to the time when going to restaurants was amazing. Great food. It really felt like an adventure to the late 70s early 80s. A true gem. So well presented.

My husband and I went to the Bold Knight for our anniversary last week, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was exceptional. My husband had the steak Oscar and it was cooked and presented exactly the way he likes. I had the lobster dinner and it was magnificent. SO GOOD!!! And the service was lovely. So very friendly and accommodating. And we will most definitely be back. A great experience that wed highly recommend.

Great steek meal exactly as I ordered. The service was good but sometimes we needed to remind the server.

We have never dined in the Bold Night before. We were welcomed as we walked in and seated promptly. Linen table service, comfortable seating and great lighting. Tihanna was friendly knowledgeable of the menu and made a great caesar. Filet mignon, seafood platter and side garlic prawn were cooked to perfection. We will be back. OH and btw the deserts were the best way to end the meal.

Our food was very good and our server, Amy, was excellent. Old-school steakhouse vibe with table cloths. The service was knowledgeable yet friendly and relaxed. The server knew that the kitchen would accommodate a couple of requests.

Seafood platter is terrible, half undercooked, half overcooked & the lobster was inedible. Mushrooms caps were raw & dirty, baked potato skin was dirty too. Wash your vegetables! Servers were nice and attentive & the drinks were grand.

Food is excellent! My son had the souvlaki with prawns and scallops. I had the seafood cannelloni. Both meals very tasty. Definitely recommend!

First time at Bold Knight and wont be our last. The tables were large and comfy and the service was outstanding. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. If you are looking for a night out that is reminiscent of a 90s high end restaurant you wont be disappointed. The servings were large. We were too full to have desert. Highly recommend if you are looking for a well cooked steak.

Service was lovely, our waitress was great. We went there for the first time for my sister in law s birthday dinner because she wanted something fancy. We never specified it was her birthday until the end and our waitress brought her a sundae even after we paid for the meal which was great and we were very grateful for that! The only downfall that we had was the seafood and vegetables. The steaks we got were great, they were cooked perfectly, but I personally got the crab legs and they were very overcooked in my opinion and some pieces tasted very fishy so I could not finish it so paying $70 for my meal kind of sucked. My partners prawns were over cooked as well and very chewy, so were my sister in law s and her partners as well. The only good portion of seafood we had was the scallops on my sister in law s plate. So that was honestly very disappointing for the price we paid. The veggies were also undercooked and very hard to chew, just expected them to be more tender than they were. Overall, the steaks and drinks were great and would come back for those, but I don t think I would get seafood again. Parking: There was a lot of parking, but when we went the parking was very full and we had to wait for someone to pull out so we could get a spot. There was also an awful smell outside but I don t think the restaurant can control that. Kid-friendliness: They had a good selection on the kids menu for my niece and she liked her grilled chicken and mac and cheese because they were unfortunately out of the ribs at the time.

First let me say that Ive been going to the Bold Knight for years. Only for special occasions because its pretty pricey. Ive never had a bad meal there. There were 6 of us for my moms 85th birthday. The food took a long time! We finally got our side salads and they were tiny. I asked for dill dressing but I got ranch, which I hate. She didnt come back for a long time, so I used everyone elses bits of leftover vinaigrette instead. Finally our meals arrived and two steaks were mixed up (sirloin and filet) and two were rare instead of medium. Also, I ordered mushrooms that didnt arrive. Everything was eventually rectified, but by then half the table were almost finished eating. I also had lobster which was tiny, cold and tasteless. We were there last year for my moms birthday and at the end of the meal - they brought her a piece of cake and sang Happy Birthday. This time they did nothing. The waitress never apologized for the mix up nor offered a discount or anything else. (Other than that she was friendly) Granted they were busy and seemed short staffed, but its pretty expensive so you expect good food and good service. I was really disappointed. We only tipped because she was standing over us waiting for the Interac.

Service was incredibly lacking. Drinks sat empty, waters were never refilled. Food was very slow. Our side salads came out and mine had 5 pieces of lettuce a cucumber and half a half bad tomato. Our meals came eventually.. they were good but the long wait and lack of service was disappointing. Ive always felt great about the price point given the quality however this time the mark was missed by a long shot.

Meh when I told my friends I was dining at The Bold Knight for their highly toted - Lobster Fest, they warned me was not a good choice. Should have listened. The staff were wonderful. Wish really I could state that about the food as well! Quite disappointing actually.

Just went for a birthday dinner and really was not impressed. Steak tough and not cooked as wanted. Tasteless. About 2 tablespoons of coleslaw on the plate, side salad covered bottom of plate, about a handful of lettuce. Service was meh....we all waited quite a while for bills. Desert and bread were good.

There was a big group in the back room and our server seemed to only care about them, we felt like extras. We sat and waited for 15 minutes until we were asked if we would like a drink, we order a litre of wine, the server quickly dumped it in our glasses, mine was 1/4 full and my wife s 3/4 full then she left. 15 minutes later she took our order. We sat for 40 minutes until we got our appies then we waited for our salad and bread. Our meals showed up after that, steaks were over cooked and tough and potatoes and prawns were cold. Our bins they gave us were black on the bottom and tasted burnt. The upside was our dog enjoyed the steaks. We have came to this restaurant for years but never again.

You cant go wrong eating here. There is a reason it has stayed in business for over 50 years. You can expect a perfectly cooked steak, melt in your mouth lobster, and sided by a fluffy baked potato with toppings dished out old school like from your server. Its always a hit here.

Step back in time with a seventies steak house menu straight from the seventies. This place is brilliant with its authentic retro atmosphere, friendly service and steaks with more side hustles than a boy band singer. The seafood chowder is tasty and their potatoes with toppings are iconic.

Been there twice now and will definitely be back. Probably the best steaks in town.

Terrible experience tonight , child hostess at the front said there was no possible way 2 of us could be seated for dinner at 715.. half the restaurant was empty. After years of waiting to try this place this happened, and Ill never try again. Shame on you. - oh so if I waited 15min you wouldnt have been so busy ? Time to retrain your staff.

Im so happy we were finally able to visit Bold Knight. Ive lived here since I was a little kid and have never visited. We experienced great service from beginning to end. The food was excellent. The best steak Ive ever had in Nanaimo, hands down. Thanks for helping to make my wifes birthday memorable.

**update Dec 31st 2022 Still mmm, mmm, delicious! Great service! Omg! The best prawn and lobster souvlaki ever Firstly, they bring hot buns with garlic butter, then a salad to start. Main dish comes with rice, lemon potatoes, veggies along with the greek salad, but I chose to leave out the carbs, shown in picture, and had the Greek salad, veggies, prawn and lobster souvlaki. Everything was amazing and you definitely get a large serving, so you definitely leave there full and satisfied.

Every time we want to celebrate a wonderful thing thats happening in our lives the first place we think of is Bold Knight! A comfortable, intimate and welcoming place to eat dinner. The food is always perfect and we always leave stuffed and smiling. Thank you BK for being there for all our happiest moments! :)

On first entering the restaurant we were courteously greeted by what seemed like the head server. She informed us that due to having quite a large party of people that the food may take longer to come out to us and if we were okay with that. Loved the honesty. The place was busy but not loud. The aesthetics were vibrant and done in a mock rustic still all the while still holding the odd vestige from 1970s decor, from which the restaurant was established. If a restaurant has been around that long and still running they must be doing something right. Considering the decade it was built, it did not have that build up of grease on the floor typical of other restaurants built in then (cough* Alices and MGM restaurant down the road cough*). Anyway the food was delicious and what extraordinary options too. This is not your average restaurant. King crab, lobster tails with steaks and considering the ingredients the dishes were very affordable. You will not find another place serving these particular shellfish and seafood items paired with other mains. I got the lobster tail with the burger combo, with a starter house salad topped with delicious house vinaigrette. My wife ordered the steak and it was a perfect steak. Seafood items are there speciality, so when I go back I would scratch the typical pub food like a burger and get more of the lobster dishes; go for the good stuff. You could tell this was the sort of place that had a strong patronage. The sort of place where a couple generations of a family might go to celebrate all their special occasions.

I really enjoyed this place, the food was excellent and I loved the sort of retro, 70s luxe decor The calamari my husband ordered was fine, so Id maybe skip that, but can recommend the lobster tail and/ or filet mignon

This is a wonderful restaurant with 45 years of love that goes into every meal . definitely a place to stop when on the island

Had the seafood platter, food was great, def get the baked potato as a side. The chocolate lemon cheese cake was so good. Parking: Parked right by the door, easy access with my cane. Kid-friendliness: Catered to my 16 month old grandson, brought him fries and offered him ice cream

Went for the first time in 30+ years and won t go back again ..mushroom caps chewy & scallops and bacon average at best very overpriced ; dry tasteless ribs that couldn t have been made any worse , bland rib eye , ($42 ) which should have at least been decent ..The Keg on its worst day has better food. Even though it s a chain , I would go there instead 100 out of 100 times ! Service well below average; empty glasses remained empty until prompts given to the server. Over an hour wait to get main courses.. So dissatisfied & disappointed!! Sorry Bold Knight, you were Bad Knight tonight ..

Amazing steak! Loved everything about it!

Wonderful restaurant. We had a lovely meal. My husband had the lobster and shrimp kebab platter and I had the baby back rib dinner. It came with a nice fresh salad with homemade dressing. The food arrived hot and looked very nice. It tasted very good. Portion sizes were great and prices were very good. The service was amazing. Nothing was too much to ask for. The restaurant was a little aged , but very clean. I highly recommend this place and we will certainly return when in the area

We got the chickens Pacific, steak and lobster, lobster and prawn souvlaki, and the bold knight challenge. For dessert we had a peanut butter mud pie and chocolate cake. Everything was 5 stars. The flavours were exquisite. The service was great. The atmosphere was relax. Will come again. A+++

We went to celebrate my sister s Birthday. Pretty obvious they are under staffed and the don t have enough kitchen staff. From the appetizer to main entree the food was at best ok, have gone many times in the past. Will not be returning.

For a business that Ive enjoyed meals at on a regular occasion I implore the management to contact me and rectify my experience with the current staff. I spent a good deal of money in your establishment and I do not appreciate rude staff members diminishing my experience. Im very happy to remove this one star rating as it is based on the encounter I experienced during my grandmothers birthday with staff members and not the business itself. Mismanagement is absolutely unacceptable. When I go to a fancy restaurant I do not appreciate having a waiter be sarcastic or rude to me or my family.

Three generations of family out for a memorable meal. Grandpa (me) had an appetizer of baked oysters in a delicious sauce, a garden salad, then to the main course, a 10oz Filet Mignon steak smothered Dungeness crab, shrimp and hollandaise sauce with rice and vegetables (all cooked to perfection) followed by ice cream coated in hard chocolate and covered with a warm Carmel sauce. Excellent professional and friendly service. Vegetarian options: We had one vegetarian in our party, and it was on her recommendation that we attended at the Bold knight. Kid-friendliness: Two children under 15 were very happy with the restaurant.

We have driven by this restaurant many times, and never thinking to go in. In speaking with a few people who have eaten here before, with high recommendations - we decided to try it. The first thing I noticed is that we were greeted by the staff upon our arrival. Very pleasant to see this, as I witnessed everyone who came in was being acknowledged. Our server was Beth and she was lovely, helpful and attentive. The menu has something for everyone, and based on our meal and service we will be back. Parking: lots of parking

Our party of 7 had 45 minutes for dinner. I called to see if we could get in. On a full night, the staff went above and beyond to fit us in on a moments notice. By the time we arrived at the restaurant our water was being poured. They took our food orders right away and came back for the drink orders. The food was great but the service was even better. Not much to look at from the outside, but don t let that deter you. The meal was also very reasonably priced. A wonderful way to end my Mother in laws 75th bday celebration. Thank you .

Absolutely incredible food. Incredible service, meals were consistently well done and drinks well made. Impressed with the place as from the outside it looks older but inside it feels like you are in an old school fancy place. Could not recommend more and will be coming back on our next trip out!

Great food best steak in Nanaimo

Came here for an anniversary celebration and we were not disappointed. We all had steak cuz we were told they had the best steak and they were right! The cut of the steaks were amazing and they were cooked perfectly! They come with roasted veggies which were carrot and zucchini with a couple broccoli, and a baked potato. You also get a salad but that s where they can improve. You get a plate that has a small handful of lettuce. We laughed actually at the amt we got. However if u upgrade to a Caesar u get a healthy amt of lettuce. The Oscar topping on my steak was also tasty but they give u a very small amt of hollandaise sauce so I asked for a side as well. You also get buns to start and man they were fresh! If u like Caesar s get their flight. It s fun and quite tasty. I also tried the nanaimo bar martini but it was way too sweet for me so I gave it to my MIL. Service was a bit slow; we were there for 2 1/2 hrs but didn t mind as we were able to have a good visit. I def recommend this place for steaks!!

I ve lived in Nanaimo for years and just ate here for the first time. What an unreal place, food was so good, vibes are super cool, feels like going back in time. Pretty special place.

I came here with my family last night, and the food and service were exemplary. If Id driven by it without knowing what it was, I wouldnt have given it a second glance - but dont be deceived by its appearance! This place is a gem.

How is this place only a 4.4?! Criminally underrated. Went with family and between us ordered almost everything on the menu, all of it cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the seafood platter to try everything. Scallops and calamari that restaurants often overcook was perfect. Steaks perfect. Everything perfect. My only complaint is that there are no Knights and the calamari, although cooked perfectly, could use more seasoning / flavour, but everything was so great I wouldnt even take off 0.1 stars. The service was some of the best Ive ever received, these people obviously love working there, suoer friendly and going above / beyond to be accommodating for us. Even the person whos the pickiest eaten Ive met and was trying seafood for the first time, who thinks seafood is disgusting, loved it! If Im ever in nanaimo again I will 100% be returning.

Decor is a bit dated but functional, clean and cozy. Food was great, service was excellent and timely.

Jen was out waiter. We really wanted a steak sandwich which was not on the menu. She managed to organize with the kitchen an upgraded steak sandwich which was Delicious! She was so accommodating and helpful. Highly recommend! Dont let the outside decor put you off. The inside was tastefully decorated. Kid-friendliness: A toddler high chair was available for another couple with a young infant.

First off I had a birthday dinner here. Reservation was for 7, ordered food at 715-725 we all didnt get our food until about 845. They close at 9... so at that point we already waited an hour and a bit to eat. We left at 920 accidentally forgetting my birthday cards there. We called the restaurant back at 934, so what do they do? They throw the cards in the garbage but keep the 6 scratch off tickets that were in closed envelopes inside. Which means they went through my cards and kept everything else. Keep in mind they also take a name and phone number down on the reservation. They did not even try calling to let us know that we forgot the cards. We went to pick up the cards immediately after and was told they have been thrown out in the garbage. All that was left were the scratchers they planned on stealing and keeping. Wont be coming back here at all. Food is subpar and way overpriced. A previous dinner that we had here, the waitress had stated they do not make most of the food in house anymore. With all that said I still cant believe they threw out birthday cards in less than 15minutes of leaving. This is absolutely disgusting behavior and very unprofessional. Also, I dont really leave reviews ever but this is just sad to see and others need to be warned.

Went there for a birthday dinner. Arrived for reservations at 7pm, food took over 1hr, got our food at 8:30pm. Restaurant closed at 9pm. Food was meh, coulda made a better steak at home. Birthday cards were left there. Called just after leaving asking about cards, was told to come by and see if they were still there. Get back and was told the cards were thrown in the garbage and the scratch tickets were all that was left. This means they went through each birthday card! Extremely unprofessional staff. We won t be back.

Went for dinner with my girlfriend and her family at 7 took over an hour and half for food to be served we ordered within 10 min and were then rushed by waitstaff because they were closing in 25 min sorry it took your kitchen 90 minutes to over cook the steak that was the toughest steak Ive ever had from a restaurant

Prices are a little are a little on the steep side, service and food are excellent however it has been dated for decades!

All arround bad experience if your not from nanaimo and want a nice place to eat dont go here they dont make 90% of food in house which is what the SERVER told me. Just all arround not good bad service rude staff and food is subpar for price you pay

We just left the restaurant. It was our 3rd time there. The food was excellent! Steak perfectly cooked, vegetables al dente, friendly excellent service. Yes, the decor a little out dated. So what! It adds to the charm. We left very satisfied and we have been to many restaurants all throughout North America and beyond (have considered becoming restaurant critics) My wife and I considered this to be a great experience. We found a gem in Nanaimo.

Great steak lobster shrimp chicken

This has been my favorite steak house in Nanaimo for over 20 years . I swear the cook is different and the quality of the steak is not the same. I dont know what happened to my favorite restaurant

A dinner party for four on Saturday night we were greeted by friendly staff and seated by our hostess who was so helpful all night. We enjoyed calamari and bacon wrapped scallops as appetizers. With some unique cocktails checkout their drink menu. We all came for steak a New York, Rib Eye and Filet Mignon cut. They were all cooked perfectly (medium rare) served with baked potatoe or rice no complaints. The atmosphere is rustic the hostess mention over 40 years serving steak and seafood. Lots of parking. I would say make a reservation well in advance for those special occasion our steaks were perfect we would come back

Great food and service in a nice quiet atmosphere. Ive driven by here a 100 times with the thought of sometime stopping in for dinner. Well, I finally got the opportunity and was very impressed and look forward to going again sometime soon. Could use some new carpets but besides that it was very nice.

Went for my fathers 65th birthday celebration. This was a place he would often go and greatly enjoyed. The owner was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional regarding seating. The service was minimal, not once were we asked if we needed anything at all, just came to take plates, orders and bills. I will not be back and I doubt my father will be either. i will be informing anyone i can about this total lack of respect and its a shame because the food was good but it was probably the only good thing about this place.

Good food and good menu. Unfortunately the service ruined our experience there. Very poor service, waited 45 minutes just to get our drink order in and then had to go to bar to get service , with our waitress just standing around at times. We were there a lot longer then we needed to be. It seemed like every other table had faster service.

Food was delicious and flavorful. Servers were great. My steak a little over cooked my sons was slightly under cooked. Minor issues as very seldom does it happen right on. Very pleased with everything there. Floors could have been a little cleaner.

I dont understand why this restaurant isnt packed. The prices are decent and the food is delicious. The only reason its getting 4 stars is because it looks like it has never been updated. The decor ruins the ambience of a steak and lobster restaurant. Other than that I will for sure be eating here again.

It s hard to support local when you show up on Father s Day as your craving a streak. Many of tables open. Just wanting a seat for 1. And them not allowing to take you in at all anytime today. I find it s very frustrating and hard to support a company like this. I get it s busy, but I m sure a restaurant can pull off making room to seat 1 person at some point this evening. I wouldn t recommend them due to this.

For anyone with the commonsense and consideration to make a reservation on one of the busiest days of the year, an exemplary dining experience was to be had this evening at The Bold Knight. Compliments to all the staff.

Unbelievable food and drink. A trip here should be planned and a couple hours should be taken to fully immerse ones self in the delectable items on offer. Oysters Rockefeller. Mushroom caps. Filet mignon Oscar. Forget about it! Steaks and seafood is what this place is all about and bloody well done as well!!

Dont know where to start . Was near the end of an extremely long and stressful personal trip and this place was an oasis from the stress . The greeter , servers , manager were all completely professional and extraordinarily friendly and warm . They looked in your eyes when you talk with them , they actually cared . Very helpful indeed . Had a delicious steak dinner , cooked perfectly . The silverware and everything else on the table as well as in the entire restaurant was absolutely spotless . Id like to personally thank our server , Sam .... she was perfect in every way possible . I would recommend this place to everyone I know . BRAVO !!!!

We went for the first time to celebrate my hubbys birthday. All 3 adults ordered steak which were all fantastic. Our 11 y.o. had chicken tenders and fries and gave it 20/5 haha. The food and service were all excellent! We will absolutely be back!

Solid steakhouse with great seafood! The decor is a bit dated, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it!

Between delayed flight into Nanaimo and the Gabriola ferry schedule we were tight on time. Called ahead for a reservation and outlined our time constraints. When we arrived table was set with menus in place. Jennifer came over immediately to confirm that we needed to be served quickly. Started with Oysters Rockefeller - as usual they were pipping hot and excellent. I Steak and Lobster, my companion Pawns. Again served promptly. Finished with Chocolate Cake and Gelato. Out 5 minutes ahead of requested departure time - so we could have a little snooze in the car while In the waiting lot of the terminal. Jennifer s service was attentive prompt and totally engaging. Food excellent. The decor is a blast from the past but is totally well maintained and clean. This place is excellent.

I give it 4 stars as the food warrants it; the service staff needs training. Arrived to a near-empty restaurant w/o a reservation and was given an hour waiting time. The waitress was extremely rude when we declined to wait, saying sorry to us and then not really as she walked away. Not going back there!!!

Mixed feelings. The restaurant overall feels like it has not been updated since the 90s, but that is alright. It feels like it might have been high end once. I ordered Escargot to start, it was good. However, I waited for over an hour for my steak to be served. The restaurant was only half full, despite it being a Friday night. By the time the steak arrived, I had been considering just paying for my starter and drink and leaving. I had ordered iced tea and it was clear this was made from powder. Perhaps this is a picky point, however considering I spent $80 on just my own meal, I was hoping for a bit better. Eventually, I was served a small salad which came before my steak. The house dressing was very tasty. However the salad was definitely not fresh. It had clearly either come from a precut bag or had been cut a day or two before. I picked about a third of it out and set aside because it was starting to go over. About 20 minutes after the salad, the steak arrived. I must say, the steak was well seasoned and cooked to my preference. I liked it a lot. It came with a small lobster tail that was butterflied and also quite tasty. I was not thrilled with my server, she didnt seem to have any interest in serving me and sent a different person with my two small requests (like my take-away container). The table next to me arrived 15 minutes after I did and recieved their food before me, even thought they ordered a similar dish (steak and lobster), but they had a more attentive server. Overall, the food was good, aside from the salad and iced tea. My largest issue was with the unusually long wait time in a restaurant that was only at half capacity. I would be willing to give it a second try in case I simply caught them on a bad night. Maybe they were short staffed in the kitchen, which is understandable. That steak was very tasty.

First off, we got drinks (caesars), then needing napkins we had to serve ourselves from where the washed dishes/etc were, grabbing napkins and utensils. My girlfriend and I ordered the seafood platter 30$+) and being told it was enough for 2 people, but its not, its enough for one person. I would have ordered a pizza for an appetizer if i knew how small it was lol. And then! the bus girl tried to take away my plate with the little bits of lobster on it from the petite platter!! Will never go back!

My wife and I went in for dinner tonight, one of the best meals we ve had in Nanaimo yet. Service was amazing! Food uped the service. Place had a great 80s nostalgia, cool decor. I also saw review before this said they serve pizza? Haha no. Love this place! You ll see us again, Bold Knight.

This place surprised us. From the outside, it doesnt look like much, but from the moment we stepped inside, we had nothing but fantastic food, excellent service, and an old-school steakhouse vibe that I realized I have really missed. The halibut will haunt my dreams, and the chef knows how to cook a steak properly! Honestly, it was so good I could have eaten double, and wanted more. We will definitely be back. Parking: Easy parking, just be sure you turn LEFT when leaving to get back on the main road. The entrance is one-way in only.

My God the NY strip steak here is AMAZING

Last time there the food was terrible!!! Ive been going to this restaurant for over 40 years but I must say this was so bad. The appetizer was half cooked, cheese not melted (escargot mushroom caps) and the lobster dinner was rancid tasting. My son, whos a chef, could tell immediately the lobster was frozen not fresh and maybe wasnt thawed right. When my son spoke to chef the chef was totally arrogant and rude instead of giving some kind of customer service. Nothing was comped or offered for this. We have no issue splurging on a fine meal and would go frequently to dine there. However, for a steak and seafood restaurant youd think seafood would be fresh. We have not returned and its a shame as it WAS our go to finer dining spot.

My wife and I chose to celebrate our first anniversary, I ve never had better service and the food is 5 star without hesitation.
