1240 Stewart Ave #101, Nanaimo, BC V9S 4C9, Canada
The tofu spring rolls are excellent, the blends of flavors and the freshness is something you don't see too often, I would highly recommend. The service was good, a bit long to wait and I ended up just getting up to pay so I could get moving. The beef slice and beef ball pho was ok, it lacked flavor and wasn't anything too special, I wouldn't recommend that pho dish. Overall a nice place to see, semi-unique and clean.
One of my favorite restaurants to visit! The food is always fresh, delicious and so yummy! The views are even better. They have many vegan and vegetarian options which can be hard to find. This place is a jem and the prices are amazing too! Highly recommended.... you won't be disappointed 👌
A nice change from the standard pho restaurant. Ingredients made on site which was delightful. We used the rooftop patio, which had beautiful view of the ocean on a summers August eve and made it a wonderful visit. Large portions ensure that you don’t go home hungry.
Honestly, everything was really good and priced reasonably. They had different kinds of sows. We tried the kimchi one and the house special one both were super good. The pho was a bit salty but still decent. the location was very and the view was great
Our lunch today was phenomenal! Food was very fresh and vegetables were crispy, and meat cooked and seasoned very well! It's a great place to eat and nice to sit and watch a bit of activity in the marina.
Had a small dinner with my girlfriend yesterday. We‘ve enjoyed the ambience, views over the marina, food was tasty and also a few Gluten- free options available. Quick, friendly service at a reasonable price. We really enjoyed our meal. Worth a visit if you’re in Nanaimo Thanks
My wife and I, we feel bit cold and chilly today. Therefore, we wanna have a pho. We didn't expect this much high quality and nice place. We were impressed by tasty food, quality, clean hygiene and nice service. No complain and the best pho ever I had in lower mainland and Vancouver island.
Beautiful location. Lots of light and spacious, and you get view of the marina. Price is pretty decent too considering the location! My Pho Dac Biet was loaded with meat 😋.
Cant say enough good things about Sealand. Great spot! Location, food and service are all very good. A co worker and I go every week and order the exact same thing. Our man Donny is excellent!
Great location at the marina. Great food and coffee. Food
Rare beef noodle soup was super delicious!
I kid you not, the special chicken noodle soup healed me.
Great pho and beautiful views!
Very lovely view and good food
Food was very nice and delicious! Service was great ! Best pho in town . recommend!
Hidden gem of Nanaimo, beautiful scenery, great prices and great staff. The House Pho is the best, I order the extra large and its 2 meals.
Best beef pho in town!
Best Vietnamese food we have had in Nanaimo! The view from the rooftop patio was also excellent too! The vegetarian spring rolls were perfectly crisp.
Wow! Went here on a whim and so glad we did. Not only can you not beat the view but the food and service was top notch. So delicious and fresh. We will be regulars here.
Visited the island from Vancouver so site see, and found this place for pho. We ordered the iced french coffee 10/10 Also ordered the Sealand pho - Lacked of flavor, no taste, and the pho noodles itself was odd.. and the chicken was dry to where it hurt my teeth. My friend ordered beef pho rated 2.5/5, which was also not good My friends daughter ordered the chicken rice dish... rated 2.5/5 lacked flavor, her chicken was dry and overcooked. The atmosphere is great by the boats and everything, but it smells really bad around the area. We came here because of the great reviews. However, the food was just not good. The salad rolls were okay, I had shrimp, and my friend had chicken. Again, it was just mediocre.
Super small portion sizes, horrible customer service. Not worth the money for what we got.
Absolutely appalled on the quality and quantity of sealand pho I ordered barbecued pork with vermicelli and received vermicelli with three bites of chicken wasnt even enough to feed a 6 year old I did the math and they must make $22 off of one breast of chicken and little bits of mystery meat Im pretty sure was Spam...... I highly do not recommend this place..... Absolutely terrible you would expect a lot more from a restaurant thats on a waterfront property! people do not order from this place save your hard earned money.I have never posted a review in my entire life until I order from this establishment this place must have voted themself for best pho in Nanaimo nobody thinks this just read the reviews
You definitely do not get what you paid for portions are terribly small definitely not worth the money. 100% not the best pho in town pho. You guys want good food go to pho Vita theyre the best in town
I just sat there for 20 minutes and they didn t take my order it was not busy they just ignored me iv been here many times and had a good experience but today was not one of them
Pho was really tasty, beautiful harbour views too
Great upstairs patio. Vegetarian dishes are delicious.
Absolutely amazing food and fair priced. Definitely would recommend!!
Wontons and pho both really good.
Awesome place right near the water and ferry terminal. We really enjoyed and satisfied our pho craving while waiting for the ferry. Beautiful patio overlooking the water, really recommend
Discovered this place when searchung for somewhere to eat before the ferry ride back to Vancouver. Located near the Depature bay ferry terminal off the harbour. Recommend going to the upper patio to enjoy the view of the boats and fresh ocean air. Food very good: different flavors from typical Vietnamese food I have had before. Really enjoyed the hot and sour shrimp noodles soup: different soup items than usual pho restaurants. Staff are courteous and quick. Place is busy, so parking may be an issue. Does have d edicated free parking for restaurant patrons: park in the green stalls by the apartment building.
Great food. The subs are preemo
We had such a pleasant late lunch today. The patio upstairs had an amazing view of the Marina. Food was so good and very reasonable. A bottle of chardonnay capped off a great afternoon. We will be back!
Delicious, fresh take out and VERY reasonably priced!
Food is always fantastic, great service and relaxing atmosphere. Love the subs.
Great little place. It is true the best pho in town. Keep in mind they close at 8 and last service is at 7:30 pm. Thankfully we made it just in time. Only minutes from our hotel. Like an oasis as not many food options in the area
Amazing service. Delicious authentic food, vegan options , go above and beyond. Thank Nanaimo Sealand Pho I have done dine in, take out and delivery. Always fresh and delicious.
Absolutely premium North Vietnamese cooking, probably the best Ive ever had, even having lived and eaten in large cities with thriving Asian food communities. In addition to my standout pho I tried the salted coffee, which Ive never seen anywhere else, and it was delicious. Very warm and friendly service as well. A great restaurant in a great food town
Sealand Pho offers an amazing Vietnamese dining experience with breathtaking Marina views. The staff was friendly, and the ambiance was warm and inviting.
Best service, great food
Nice atmosphere, amazing food and the best coffee I ve ever had in Canada
This is a wonderful find. The service is very friendly, very nice decor with a view over the marina to Newcastle Is, and the food is amazingly fresh. The menu is much more than Pho. We have only been in the winter, but are looking forward to the rooftop dining in summer. Parking is available in several stalls in the lot, and is free on the main road. A bit too much plastic if you order take out, but it is fantastically organized and always warm. Excellent meat and vegetarian options. It is hard to describe how subtle and fresh the flavours are - definitely worth a visit.
Best pho I ve had! Dietary restrictions: Has vegan options Food : 5/5 |
Came across this place a year ago by accident and fell in love with the food. Not in love anymore. The portions are getting smaller and smaller. Usually order a medium size (which is more like a small to begin with) medium heat, grilled chicken pho, which always comes with Basil and sprouts through DD. Tonight I ordered an Xtra Large, spicy pho for an additional $2.70. Received slightly more broth than the medium, (compared liquid amount between the last bowl I ordered and this one) noodle and chicken is the SAME portion as the medium and there was no sprouts or basil. Wasnt even an option to add sprouts or basil to order. Almost $3 more and I ended up with less than normal. The broth had zero spice and the noodles were way over cooked. I get that prices are high but charging almost $3 more for the same amount is criminal!! This will be my last order.
Clean , delicious food
Tasty Bahn Mi with fresh baked French bread.
my girlfriend ordered the chicken pho and when we got it the chicken was raw, we noticed after she had already eaten a couple of bites and now she is sick. not fun
Our go to spot for Family Pho Sundays! Love the people, love the vibe and the pho is the best we ve had. Won t regret going here pho sho!
The pho and subs are great. Usually get take out but have eaten in a few times. Good people serving good food
Best lemongrass chicken
Nice little spot tucked away. The service was quite slow and I thought the amount or chicken was on the small side in my chicken pho. Also I dont like it when they leave the skin on chicken.
I try and eat here once a month. Sealand Pho special I don t know what they do the the chicken they put in this dish but it is so good.
Really yummy and HUGE bowls of pho (medium). The spring rolls were perfectly crisp.
Excellent, fresh pho with generous portions and great prices. Service was prompt and food came out very quickly. Thank you!
The view is amazing. The service was very good. The food was good.
Absolutely amazing Wonton Soup, beautiful presentation with all the fixings. Thank you so much Sealand Pho, I will definitely be frequenting your restaurant
although Ive gotten only take out from here, I have to say this place is beautiful for dine-in as well - nice location/view, so clean, spacious, nice ambiance. amazing, friendly staff, and fantastic pho & spring rolls. a must-try when in Nanaimo!
Everything was amazing, we loved it!
Great views and amazing bahn mi! Will definitely come back.
Its just not very good. Ive eaten from here 4 times, twice in-house and twice ordered. Im sad to say no experience has been worth a return, but we have returned for convenience alone. I cant see myself wasting my money for another try. Service and staff are fine, but for such a small menu its incredibly bland. I cant tell the difference between the beef or chicken broth because they both have very such weak flavour. Ive found the best part of pho is the perfectly flavoured piping hot broth and this just tastes watery and not worth the money or sodium.
We live in Nanaimo and had heard nothing but good reviews from friends. We finally had a chance to try this place out. We had friends headed back to the mainland, so we suggested Sealand Pho just a couple of blocks from the Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. We arrived, were impressed with the cleanliness. Ordered a couple of rolls as starters and wonton noodle soup for the main course. Both were very tasty. We will definitely return.
Great soup, awesome prices. A huge menu to choose from. Options for everyone.
They charge for to-go container. That is crazy, Ive NEVER been charged for to-go containers.
Ive been here 3 times now and utterly dont understand why Nanaimo voted this the best Pho in town. Maybe ppl here just dont know what its supposed to be like. The service totally sucks here, walked in here with 3 tables already eating and it took them 25 minutes to serve me an order of shrimp rolls( which are always pre-made, these were old the rice paper was more chewy then a fruit roll up) and an order of deep fried wonton which takes 1 minute to make. Theres nothing special about this place at all. Pretty sure the pho broth isnt even made in house because the resto smells sterile and lacks that family value most Pho places Ive ever been too have always had.
I went for lunch after departing the ferry terminal. Found sealand pho to be the closest and most convenient place to eat. Why not a bowl of soup with jasmine soft broken rice, charred grilled chicken, Vietnamese ham, and cronchy spring roll. It was the perfect lunch as the sun was peaking through the stormy weather that day. Very clean and fantastic views / vibe. Would recommend for dine in
The tastiest and clearest chicken broth. Bright, clean, welcoming space. Server was attentive and music was just right. View was lovely. 3 medium soups, and a sandwich was about fifty-five dollars before tip. Will go again!
I ve been wanting to go Sealand, specifically to try the banh mi, for a while. Today I can finally confirm that s it s awesome - better and way bigger than I was hoping! My wife got salad rolls and she showed me how they included a lot of filling in there that was NOT vermicelli! (A lot of places just fill them with the noodles and not much else.)
Best place for Pho in Nanaimo. Incredible flavour, really good prices and friendly staff. Keep up the good work Sealand!
Fantastic pho and fresh rolls
Its in front of the beach, but the view is not good. Banh mi and pho are delicious
This used to be my favourite place for pho, but last couple of visits have been disappointing. Seems to have gone downhill lately.
The food is amazing, fresh, flavourful ingredients, not too spicy, delicious with generous portions. The location cant be beat, beautiful views of the marina. Prompt, friendly service. Vegetarian options: Yes! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options Parking: Tucked below the highway, private parking Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible
This was our first time and it will not be our last. Our lunch was a 10/10. Staff was friendly service was quick food was outstanding.
I had an amazing experience at this pho restaurant! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the meat was tender and cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I also appreciated the variety of options on the menu, including vegetarian and gluten-free options. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious and authentic pho.
There was 7 of us, we had a reservation , so they knew we were coming. Took 30 minutes for someone to even ask if we wanted any drinks, then another 20 to actually get them. We had to ask for our orders to be taken after trying to get the attention of our server. Each meal came out in 10 min intervals, one meal never came, we had to ask, that was another 10 min. The rice paper on the salad rolls was tough and dried out, vermicelli was cold bland and tasteless as well as the pork. The soup and sub was the only edible dish. And the weirdest thing of all was we saw our server cleaning the washrooms, wait for it without his shirt on AND then he came out and cleared our table and washed the glasses at the bar. Pretty bizzarre
Good service. Good food. Environment is Amazing
Everything is great, but was served 3 absolute raw shrimp in my seafood soup, and had to cook them for myself.
The pho is so bland. The view is nice so it s really disappointing they skimp on the ingredients and prep, making such watered down broth. My old review here was to go for the patio but when I went this summer (2023) they ve closed their roof top patio. That was literally the only reason I decided to return. The pho place across from Costco is not as pretty but much better food.
Food was great! Place was great too! Love the grilled chicken!
Sealand Pho offers an amazing Vietnamese dining experience with breathtaking Marina views. The staff was friendly, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. A must-visit for authentic pho enthusiasts and the perfect spot to enjoy delicious food with a stunning view. Highly recommended!
Excellent pho and spring rolls, the house special salad roll was perfect. Excellent views and the Vietnamese ice coffee was top notch. Highly recommend
Good food, beautiful view from the roof top patio
Not what you would expect if you like the Pho in Vancouver. Too generous on MSG. And service could be faster. The washroom and view is really nice though.
Great location for pho.
A great place to have a nice meal. The pho broth tasted sharp, sweet, and clean with no oily aftertaste. Great climate on the inside while still being nicely situated nicely on the water. The food presentation was great. You can tell this establishment puts a lot of effort into you as the customer having a great dining experience. The quail eggs in the special chicken pho were delicious highly recommend their special pho dishes. Spring rolls were very sweet and scrumptious definitely stand out from any other places.
Terrible experience ever! The owner was so impatient and treated customers impolitely.
Real nice and clean and close to the ferry.
5 stars across the board!! I had the Phó, and it was the most delicate and exquisite bowl Ive had. That coupled with the wonderful service and immaculate view.... Ill be sure to visit time and time again.
A nice find. At a marina so great views of boats and Newcastle Island especially from the 2nd floor open deck. The main floor restaurant looks very nice and the entire place was very clean. Great service and food. Parking: Park in the area near the restaurant marked with green lines. Its free.
Great service, great Bahn mi, 10 out of 10 would visit again
Great spot to wait for the ferry, food was great and service was quick for a large group.
Unbelievable pho. Lots of flavours. Generous portions with reasonable prices. This will be a new lunch spot!! Vegetarian options: Has vegan options
Denied me service because Im disabled and have a service dog
Would not allow a legitimate registered SERVICE dog in and denied entry. Educate yourselves, do better. Would not recommend supporting this business. Service
We always enjoy beautiful harbor view while eating foods also very clean and friendly staff.
Amazing little Vietnamese place. Great food at a decent value right on the water.
Great Pho
Great restaurant for numerous reasons. Friendly, welcoming and smiling staff. Very clean tables, waterfront location - there arent many here surprisingly and most importantly these chefs put thought into their dishes. Grew up eating Vietnamese cuisine in Vancouver for 30 years. These guys have some top dishes - the tofu is marinaded and grilled to perfection, Kim Chi Roll (a little Korean fusion) is the freshest Ive had, lemongrass chicken is juicy and flavorsome, and the pho broth is seasoned well. All in all one of the better Pho restaurants on the Island. Five stars.
I would also give more than five stars for the food, service, atmosphere and their reasonable prices. Their homemade chili and peanut sauces are ones to get for. I wonder if they would sell those separately. Anyway, thank you for giving us this set of experiences, the Sealand Pho team.
Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Great location, delicious, and affordable! My favourite Vietnamese place around
Fast and friendly service! Excellent customer service! The food is great and has reasonable prices! Excellent views of the marina before it gets dark! Vegetarian options: Many non meat items are available! Parking: Designated spaces for the restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs
What a great place. The food was perfect, the service very good and the atmosphere was lovely. The bathrooms are big and clean. The windows all around make the place very bright and open. My brother is siliac and did not have a problem with anything. A place we will return.
Excellent fast service in a lovely waterfront setting. Staff is very genuine. Food is great! My favourite spot in town.
Terrific quality of food with a larger vegetarian selection than I expected overlooking the harbour. Note the combos on the last page of the menu.
Delicious food and gorgeous view! The staff were very accommodating for our toddler. They provided plastic cup/plates/cutlery and were fantastic.
I wood give 6 stars Great food, outstanding service, friendly staff.
Great little place with good food and good people.
Very good pho. Id say the best in town. And great portion sizes. Very nice dining room in a beautiful location.
As I said to them yesterday their PHo is one of the Best i have ever had. . Big Thanks
The pho is amazing and the homemade crispy wonton is full of flavour. This is the best Vietnamese food Ive had outside of Vietnam! A hidden gem in Nanaimo. :)
Nice clean restaurant, friendly staff and great food. We loved their Pho and rice.
Great authentic Vietnamese food. Enjoyed every bite. Didn t leave hungry. Very affordable.
Shared spring rolls and both our meal selections were fresh and tasty. Lovely bright building and nice marina view.
I wasn t feeling well yesterday so I ordered the House Special Pho through Door Dash. It was packed so beautifully and with such care. To top it off it was absolutely delish! Big thanks for the yummy food!
Good first impression, tasty soup, And the xl portion is huge ! Will definitely come back
Very tasty lunch today with my wife. The fellow running the show was very nice.
Awesome food and customer service
got this delivered and you couldnt feed a basement rat with the portion sizes also was not that tasty
I know that it s currently difficult to find staff and that food costs have gone up but this was not a great experience. The only person serving took forever to even acknowledge that we were there or bring menus. The food amount was tiny and just mediocre Needs serious improvement. Great location with views over the water.
Best pho in Nanaimo!! Great atmosphere and service too!!
came early in the afternoon after a long hike on Newcastle island. The Pho is fantastic, flavorful and warm. The best though, was the seafood sub, which we ordered to go as we went out hiking. the sandwich was so full of meat and had lots of interesting flavors combined. 2 thumbs up.
Great lunch, friendly efficient service, spotlessly clean.
This is one of the best pho soups I ve ever had, it was absolutely delicious. The portions were generous, the restaurant was spotless and the staff were very friendly. I m visiting from Ottawa, but I wish I could come eat here regularly.
The staff are awesome. The food smells amazing
The Banhmi tastes good but the filling was a bit less than I thought. U can have it for snack. I like they have 3 sizes for Pho. The place is clean and tidy. And the server are very friendly.
First time I ever tried seafood spring rolls and they are delicious although personally still prefer regular or veggie. Special pho (might be called special Sealand pho, sorry) was phenomenally textbook - perfectly classic. Before all that I enjoyed an excellent Vietnamese iced coffee while watching the beautiful view of the boats. Last but not least the service was super warm, friendly and professional, and the prices are very fair. Just moved to Nanaimo and I ll be back at least 10 more times!
Really good food. However, consistency is not their strong suit. Sometimes the order turns out amazing. Sometimes the same order is lacking luster.
Went there with family it was a great meal excellent service and friendly atmosphere I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.
Excellent service and tasty food!
Ordered e4 grilled pork vermicelli and it did not have any spring rolls. Tried to call them and no one picks up.
Good menu, small but lots of choice. Bahn mi were great. Super delicious bun that wasnt over crispy. Good but not great salad rolls.
Yummy food and great view! Loved their chili oil sauce for the noodle soup. And the Vietnamese coffee is really good too!
First visit with my family, and although the service time to get our orders in took around 15mins, we consider the food and presentation to be worth the wait. In the restaurants defence, we did arrive at 7:16pm (about 45mins until closing), there was only one man handling the front, and we are aware restaurant food service BC wide has been low staff. So keep in mind, to have a patient mind with food service workers, for they are trying their best. With Sealand Pho, we were very pleased with their service. :)
My wife just bought home salad rolls. If the option was no stars I would have chosen that. They were Vietnamese salad rolls with shrimp and avocado, she even paid extra for the shrimp. There was one small shrimp and 2 small pieces of avocado, the rest was cucumber, vermicelli noodles and lettuce. Very disappointed.
Today was the first time our family went here. After reviewing the reviews on google we knew to expect a delay in service because of the lack of front of house staff. As we come out of the pandemic we need to remember to be patient and offer kindness as businesses are recovering and labour shortages are a real problem. The food, presentation and prices are great. And the view is stunning. We recommend you come here for the food and view.
Delicious, fresh pho with a view! Bright, well lit restaurant right by the water. Spring rolls were crispy and delicious as well. There were plenty of gluten free (GF) options, too. Fairly priced as well and will definitely come here again!
Soup 3, noodle 2, meat 2, service 4. Ordered house special only 3 slices of beef, few meat ball but with grill chicken, first time pho with grill chicken in the soup noodles. The soup not strong enough and the rice noodle too rough, beef too hard. The environment is good just next to yacht club. Overall 3 out of 5
Tastes good but no filling in it!
Nothing good. Only 6 people in the restaurant and we ordered right away. Still took 20+ minutes for food to arrive. Portion is small and pricy, and broth tasteless. The ambience was the best part
Food was good. No complaints. Bathrooms were clean. Water taste good. Free parking on the GREEN spots only. They have patio.
Quality price service At the waters edge
Chicken noodle soup was great. Recommend this place.
Convenient location, beautiful view. While service was friendly, it was slow. The Pho was tasty, although served without beansprouts. The Lemongrass chicken with vermicelli was full price but the portion looked like half what it typically would be. We suggest some attention be paid to these concerns and with that taken care of, we would recommend.
I used to visit here to enjoy Vietnam food with great veiw but I wonder why they dont have enough staffs all the times. When I need to ask something to get I should wait for a staff too long. Now, my family refuse to go there for their poor service.
Not new to Vietnamese food, only two other tables but service was super slow for a pho place, overpriced for what you get and the food was just edible. 4 adults, 4 different dishes, everyone felt the same that we won t be back.
Good service and great food.
for us , great different then what we are used to, tasting food
Nice view and decor.
Clean restaurant with great prices, great authentic food and nice people. Banh mi, pho and vermicelli were great, will return next time we re in town! The coconut drinks took me back to my childhood. Vegetarian options: A lot of vegetarian options including broth for pho.
Really nice environment. Food is delicious and the view is an added bonus. Food
Good food and beautiful view!
Highly recommend!! Great Wonton soup!
The most plain, tasteless soup Ive ever had. Dont waste your money on this place. Peanut sauce was 10000% watered down. Barf
Lovely place! friendly staff! definitely recommend it! The food and the view is amazing
This rating is just for the food we ordered, not the restaurant experience. The space looks beautiful, but we ordered food to go The banh mi sandwich was so bad, it could have been saved if the bread was good, but the baguette was so hard and crusty, and not in the good way you d be used to. It was like a pilsbury diy baguette that ripped my mouth apart. The ingredients inside were bare minimum, the chicken tasted like it had been sitting for quite some time and there was no fresh elements you d expect. The salad rolls were okay save your money and go somewhere else!
Nice view, good food, very friendly!
Bahn Mi was phenomenal, every part. Buns so good!
Nice environment, PHO was flavorful. Not a PHO expert but seemed different in a good way. Different PHO combinations that I have seen but again not that experienced. Delicious. 3 bowl sizes as well. Middle size standard, I can see how that can be too much for some, so smaller options good. I had middle size
First of all, great location, the view is very nice, we love the Harbour City. Secondly, the food is not very good at all. It was actually almost entirely inedible, my wife couldn t eat her meal whatsoever and I did the best I could to choke down veiny, slimy and boiled skin lemongrass chicken. It is highly insulting to be served such bad quality food, I m honestly shocked they would serve that. When the waiter took the food back to the kitchen we heard him complaining about us to the kitchen staff. How do we know this? We spent quite some time in Vietnam and understand a fair amount of the language, not to mention they were speaking very loud which makes for bad business. That truly was disappointing. Overall the food had no taste, poor presentation, the fish sauce was watered down, the pork was very strangely coloured and looked like grey matter, the pork patties were the frozen ones from fairway market that probably had been frozen, thawed and refrozen over and over again, they looked like deep fried freezer burnt dry patties. Totally not appetizing. My suggestion would be to enhance the flavours, buy some quality food and create a bit of presentation on the plate. This food does not taste like Vietnam food, I understand it s important to make it taste more western, but cmon there s very little flavour and effort. I m currently not feeling so good, crossing my fingers that I do not get food poisoning. Thumbs down, I do not recommend.
Awesome! :)
Ordered Pho for the 4 of us and it wasn t very good at all. We paid for it, left a tip but I can tell you I won t be back right away nor will the rest of my colleagues. The beef tasted gamey and the broth had very little flavour. I enjoy eating pho, such a shame.
This is a superb Nanaimo spot on the water for Vietnamese food. Some dishes are very good while others not quite hitting the mark. The young server we had did a great job for a busy Wednesday afternoon. Attention to window cleaning and pruning of inside plants will make this a spot to take visitors.
Delicious and beautiful setting. Lots of parking. Nice service. Highly recommend spring rolls and pork.
Really good Pho! Service was pretty good for one guy!
Delicious! The meat was so good I could eat buckets of it. The noodles and rice are well cooked and the pickled veggies really give the dishes that oomph! Love this place.
Great pho, friendly service and great views out to the Marina. Highly recommended!
Wasnt impressed. Went for vietnamese drip coffee paid then saw the guy make instant. For $5 ?!?
Fantastic food, great spot on the marina, nice clean, restaurant!
Super scrumptious pho! Great prices and such wonderful service. Will definitely come back here.
5 stars and more! This place was awesome. We went there in-between ferry waits, debating whether to go to the closer pubs or not. We were SO happy we chose Sealand Pho, even if it was a bit of a father walk. The service was incredible (everyone was so friendly!), beautiful location right on the water, and the food was sooo good! We got the pho the broth was delicious. It happened to be the restaurant s first birthday, too. For their birthday, they gave US a free birthday treat, a card, and a chocolate bar! We were so glad we went. Would highly recommend! Thank you, Sealand!
Odered a house special pho. The taste of the soup is not quite authentic, I think. Bean sprouts, lime, etc were not offered. Perhaps they forgot? And the wait time was a bit long. The environment is excellent though. 3.5 stars pretty much.
Good value. The day we went out was very busy so it took a while to get in. A modern clean look to decor. We found the good to be quite good.
Had the pho and it was very bland was a 2 outta 10 at best. My buddy got the Sealand vermicelli he said it was a 6 at best. Meh not fond of my experience. Still looking for a good pho place in Nam
Food was good but the use cilantro instead of Thai basil. They also use lemons instead of limes, personal preference I guess. I prefer the later for my pho. The deep fried wontons and salad rolls are amazing!
Came here for a quick lunch before we leave from Departure Bay ferry terminal yet we were very disappointed by the food despite the decent google rating. The view of the restaurant is very nice. However, the herb and bean sprouts were not fresh at all. The leaves of the basil turned black and the bean sprouts tip are turning black too, whats worse is that they boiled the bean sprouts in order to cover up the fact that theyre not fresh! Dont serve old food to your customers! The pho broth is very bland and lacking flavors of spice. The service is very slow too, waited almost half an hour for the pho to come out, pho is supposed to be quick food. Despite the nice setting of the restaurant, essentially its the food that attracts and keeps the customers, what a pity that the owner neglected showing care to their food.
Excellent Vietnamese food
Excellent customer service and very tasty food in a nice setting. Great experience at Sealand Pho and gets my full recommendation :)
Stopped by to support fellow ILWU member on new business. Food was awesome. Service was great. View is amazing
Great Pho! Really nice staff too. Definitely will be back.
Moderate quality. Very non authentic. The rare beef they gave me was store bought sandwich roast beef, which was kinda disappointing. Taste was alright. Wouldn t recommend to a friend.
Amazing find in Nanaimo. Beautiful location right by the ferry with views of the Marina. The food was fresh, authentic and delicious. Great value and selection and fast friendly service.
The worst Pho ever. The Phos broth just tasted like water and salt, the noodle was not even cooked properly. (Its not even tasted or smelt like Pho) The Rice Dish was sucks, the chicken on the dish was way too burned. I will never come back here. Do not waste your money and time here.
Delicious banh mi, good service, beautiful room. Cant ask for more than that!
Well priced, super attentive staff and amazing authentic food.
The food was tasty!
Menu clearly said 2 salad rolls with a combo, only got 1, asked the server and was told its only 1 due to being a combo. Also got our order wrong. Food wasnt bad but very expensive for what it is. Edit: after showing the waiter the menu again we were given the second salad roll
Amazing food. Fast service. Amazing Banh Mih and Pho.
We had an amazing experience here! The food was phenomenal and the service was fast and friendly. Everything was delicious- the banh mi was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The beef pho broth had amazing flavor and the shrimp salad rolls were light and refreshing. Definitely the best food we ve had on Vancouver island!
Price is fair, but understaffed (only 1 person working the front of house). Being one of the few food options by the ferry terminal, youd think they would be more prepared as patrons are on a time crunch! Dont think Ill come back as a local or introduce visitors here.
When they have a sign saying they have the best Pho in town, they mean it! (Sorry, other favorite restaurant, Sealand just took over.) We did an order for take out (you get 10% off for that!), so I dont know what the sit down service is like, but the take out was quick, efficient and friendly. (Even when the food delivery service guy tried to barge in. They made me feel the most important.) The food was well packed for our journey home, broth in one dish, noodles and proteins, and veggies in another container with individually packed sauces. We tried the seafood, chicken, rare beef, and beef balls pho. All 4 of us were very happy and the food was top notch. My chicken was Bar-B-Q or something... so much flavour and so juicy and tender. We will definitely go there again. (Sorry no pictures. We were hungry!)
Great pho place in Nanaimo
