The last few times we have been the service has been subpar. We had sat out on the patio and went inside to let someone know we were out there, but we were forgotten about. Most recently, we sat inside and once we got our food the server walked past our table many times but didn t come check on us / ask how everything was. When she finally did come to the table and saw my full plate she didn t ask if something was wrong she asked if I wanted a to-go box. It is disappointing as the food is good (most of the time) but the service is unwelcoming.

Love the food, drinks and atmosphere here (except when having a...slightly too loud performer last night, too loud for the size of the restaurant) one specific waitress (I didnt get her name) we have gotten twice is very unfriendly ,inconsiderate and impatient. Rarely smiles, didnt listen to how we wanted the bill split, and was eating chips behind the bar/while working. I get it can be a stressful job and the loud music probably didnt make it better, but we were definitely not satisfied with her service.

Update of review from over a year ago.... No Update. Still fantastic. We travel by boat to napanee. This place is a huge factor In that.... still. So before I even say it. Just know its way better then that. Its fantastic. Fish and chips were so fantastic. We stayed in Napanee an extra night to go back for breakfast. And was not disappointed. And the staff were so great to.

The service has gone down so much at the Napanee location.. when we lived 20 min away, I once got a chicken Parm with no chicken called they waitress was like yup I wrote your you name down and you can get a free one when you come in.. they did not write my name down.. so we stopped going for a while.. gave it another try and low and behold nothing has changed.. but we like the owners so we keep giving them chances.. everytime we order take out it gets screwed up.. latest experience was they forgot our appetizer so the waitress lies and says the kitchen is backed up .. their was 5 tables and 3 had food already. So my entrees sit under a heat lamp for 10 min and I need to wicrowave my food when I get home. Its a 2 minute walk. Dereck and rose STAFF need to write stuff down because they have the memory of a goldfish.. I worked with waitresses who could handle 10-15 tables easy when I was a cook. These waiter/waitresses can barely handle 5.

Very good restaurant to discover in Napanee, Ontario Pizza with beef, pepperoni, bacon WOW. The Beef Deep sandwich with decadent juice. The waitress was really great. Great service and clean place. First time and not the last.

FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had the pleasure of coming here last night. Just a heads up for those visiting Napanee in the middle of the week most places shut down pretty early. I was lucky enough to find this spot just about over an hour before closing time. The spot is right on the main strip of the town. Front patio would provide a nice view of the main road activity.....if it was during the day when people were actually milling around. :) Melissa was an absolute dear. Great banter and attentive to small things giving props to her customer service commitment. I went with the stir fry and was undecided between the sweet chili and teriyaki. I mean i have had sweet chili before but not sure if i was in the mood for any heat that that evening. Melissa noticed this and she brought me a sample of the sweet chili to sample before i commit. I am definitely glad she did cause i really wasnt in the mood for any level of heat that evening. This is the type of service I always look forward to. She always had a smile on her face and even though she was the only one holding down all the tables. She never hesitated to engage you with a smile and her incredible patient demeanour for any question or request. The entree was great tasting and amazingly hot, which was definitely a pleasant surprise vs. what my earlier in the day meal experience was in Napanee. I chose to add a chicken breast to the stir fry and it was cooked quite well and absolutely huuuuuuuuuge. Shout out and a big thanks to Melissa for the experience.

This is for the Kingston location only. Such a disappointing experience. We were greeted by two young hosts who were great. That s where the good part of the evening ended. We were seated at least 20 minutes before a drink order was taken. We gave our dinner order then because we could tell we d be waiting even longer. At 1 hour and 15 minutes still no dinner- fish and chips and French Onion soup. It never came. The one waitress who wasn t ours but was trying her very best said do you want to stay or have me take your dinner off the bill and you can go. We opted to go. But not until we paid for our drink. Imagine. We were trying to be patient but it became unbearable and we were hungry. We also saw 3other tables just leave too. It was the best Firehouse Sub we had that night.

Went to the new location in Kingston. They classify themselves as a British pub but definitely not. The location is more like an industrial space. We were sat and waited 15 mins just to put in a drink order and our dinner order. Then we waited another hour and still did not get our meal. We paid for our drinks and left. Other people that were seated after us left before us. The menu does not have any British items on the menu. No Yorkshire, no steak and onion or kidney pie. Not even malt vinegar on the table. I would not recommend going there. The comments from the owner where not us and a very petty response

We waited 20 minutes to order and 55 minutes for 2 sandwhiches. It was a Wednesday at lunch and pretty full. The server was trying. I guess they werent expecting so many on a Wednesday. The food was ok. I will go back when things settle. New restaurants just need some time.

Agnes is a fantastic server: friendly, knowledgeable, quick, accommodating, top-notch. The nachos had way too many jalapeños, though I like them, they arent pickles. Very little cheese, very little taste. One in purple group had the Loafer burger and really enjoyed it, another had the same - vegetarian and said it was good. Fish and chips were very good. The menus smelled dirty, the staff responded appropriately when informed. Music is too loud dpr conversation. Dark Grey wall decor is dark and dingy, needs a makeover. The munchies platter was yummy! Vegetarian options: Vegetarians Loafer Burgwr was enjoyed. Dietary restrictions: Pretty good range of gluten free options.

I was just here with my girlfriend and her family. The food was really good and the the service also. Agnes was our server and she was awesome especially on a busy Saturday. I would like to thank the Manager that was a server that night. She helped hold the doors, while my GFs grandma was entering and exiting the building.

I visited The Loaf N Ale with my girlfriend and daughter after a trip to Napanee and it was the best experience of my life. First impressions walking into The Loaf N Ale; from the bar to the hardwood floors everything was how a pub/bar would feel to me. A welcoming greeting from our server as he encouraged us to sit wherever we liked; upon taking a seat under the blackboard we quickly got service ordering our ice cold drinks we took a gaze upon the blackboard above us reading the specials, and the fine selection cocktails, beers, and wines. As reading the many options on the menu the server brought us brought us our drinks and asked us what we would like to eat. My daughter got the poutine, my girlfriend and I got the burger with fries and a side of gravy of course. The poutine was a great portion for two, fresh cut French fries piled high with melted cheese curds and gravy I obviously had to sneak a bite. The combined flavours of the fresh cut French fries, cheese curds, and gravy complemented each other so well. Now the piece de resistance; The Loafer! As a cook for a strong 8 years I had some burgers in my life let me tell you that this burger was the best burger I have ever had in my entire existence. As I tasted this delicious work of art I could instantly taste the grill flavour in the house made beef patty and that flavour soaked its way throughout the entire burger from the cheese curds, fresh veggies to the tangy barbecue sauce; completely transformed my tastebuds like little flavour crystals in every bite; I could taste the love and passion put into this burger. As I finished the burger in minutes, finishing off the fries I couldn t help myself but drink the rest of the gravy. If I could give 10 stars I would; It definitely made me crave more. I made reservations here for Saturday night Feb 3rd. It was the worst time food was late coming out and drinks were slow coming out. I had one person leave because food didnt come out for over 30 min and we all had finished our food. Dont make reservations there for the back room.

The burgers are delicious. Had the blue cheese and bacon. Great fries. Perogies were ok but recommend you ask them to hold the balsamic glaze. Our server was good to us but not great to young guy working the bar.

Just an awful experience. It was freezing inside so we had to keep all our layers on while eating. Not fun. Service was dismal. No one comes to check if youre ok or how the food is or if you need anything else. After youre done eating you have to flag someone down for the bill. No staff looked our way except to take our order and later bring it over. We stared at our food, ready and waiting, on the kitchen shelf for a good long while. The pub was NOT busy at all, so not sure why no one noticed our food sitting there getting cold. Food finally makes it to our table, cold, of course. My steak sandwich might have been half decent while hot, but the melted cheese had already hardened by the time I got it. The sauce was some weird liquidy mix of bbq sauce and ketchup? Ugh. The Caesar salad had 0 flavor. I would have enjoyed a plain head of iceberg lettuce more. The beef au jus sandwich and burger also may have been good hot, but that is not how we had to endure them. I only ate half my sandwich, and only got through it because I was hungry. It was super messy too, and I guess napkins are in short supply because I had to make do with just one. You couldnt pay me to go back to this place. We spent $100 for cold food, 3 pops, and no service for 3 people. **EDIT** Love the response from management. My fault all around. My food was cold because I sat next to a window. The other food was cold too, but men will eat anything when theyre hungry. I did mention the complete lack of attention from the staff, and I had no intention of spending my entire Saturday at this place trying to get a hot meal. I also do not trust food being made twice due to errors. Especially after the response I received here. Still a nope.

I had their burger if the day . Chicken cheddar jalapeño! YUM! It was huge, but I was ready for it and managed to get most of it in my belly! Unfortunately there was no room for my side salad . The friends I was with insist that the garlic mashed potatoes are the best side going. Their mains were huge, too! Everything going on around me smelled so good If I get back that way again I m eating here for sure!

I want to thank you guys for allowing me to find my new favourite restaurant Santorini. The last 3 times we went it was mistake after mistake. First time they tried to charge us for a beer we don t drink. The 2nd time we ordered the fry supreme to be served regular fries. The third time we were brought bruschetta when we ordered 2 entrees. The Guinness loaded loaded and the baked Portobello. We Even didn t mind that. However, today when we walked In we were ignored for 20 minutes. Even though there was a sign please seat yourself . We are done. We were celebrating tonight. We went to Santorini s and they picked up your slack. So thank you for showing us why we shouldn t support a business solely for being local.

A wee bit expensive for my liking. The beer is actually TWICE the price as Churchs Roadhouse in the same town. What can I say nice?? Its small and cosey with great friendly staff who take the time to actually have a conversation with you and actually remember you too! It kind of reminds me of that bar on the old sitcom Cheers. Lots of good only bad is the price of beer.

My spouse and I just had dinner here. We are local to the area, but have never been there. This was notably one of the worst waitress experiences I ve had in this area. Our waitress was abrupt, rude and seemed very inconvenienced by our presence. We expected a more hospitable experience for a 90.00 meal.

This was a great little place to eat. My burger was really good and my buddys combo plate was just the right amount of food!

Overall pretty good spot for a small town! Vegetarian food is decent. Only 1 or 2 vegan options (stir fry) is decent, not amazing. Nice atmosphere though and very friendly. A bit overpriced. Cheaper somehow to go to Copper Branch, which is amazing and mostly vegan, and CB isnt cheap. Vegetarian options: We often get the appetizer platter, which is the most economical here. Lets you pick from most of the apps, which is nice. We usually get Deep Fried Dill Pickles, Poutine and Nachos. Ordering full meals each is too pricy cause the food isnt phenomenal, but like all of Napanee, the people are quite friendly, so we feel welcome there.

First time here ! The meals we got were Shepard pie and beef stew chicken wrap and chicken strips. All were great and tasty. I found the prices were just a tich high for the serving size. But we ventured out to try something new. Service was wonderful too.

Amazing place. Staff is always busy. It just took a little while to receive our meals after ordering. Wait staff didnt bring milk amd suger with the pot of tea. Food was amazing. The spinach salad was the best cranberry almonds feta 10 out of 10. Mushroom coliflower cream soup 7.5. Will dine again. Cant wait to try a Yorkshire pudding.

Over the past two years, when ordering from this establishment, I have gotten the wrong order. Every freaking time! Shame on me for thinking things have changed. Never again will I spend money here.

The fish tasted off and chips were obviously refried. The steak and Guinness stew was good but the Yorkshire pudding was stale and tough as leather. The waitress was terrible- just only smiled when we paid and left. Not too many choices in town but will wait for a while to return.

The last few times Ive been here and had take out has been less than stellar. The price increases do not match the quality of the food whatsoever. I ordered a veggie wrap made with 80% lettuce, and I upgraded to a Greek salad that was effectively 75% chopped iceberg lettuce with minimal toppings. Not a true Greek salad at all. The upgrade fee is practically an insult to your consumers. Youre charging 4 extra dollars for effectively lettuce in a small bowl with some feta cheese. The reason people go out to dinner or have take out, is so they can enjoy a quality meal that they would have trouble making at home. 17 dollars for a veggie wrap is insane pricing. I like to support local, but when you have chain restaurants putting out better food, you have a problem. Wont be coming back. Start treating your customers with respect. Update: I thought Id try this place again - I ordered waffle fries for 4 dollars extra. I got 3 individual waffle fries in my order. Clearly this place doesnt really care about quality control as they have a local devoted base that likes sub par food quality.

Stopped for a quick pint. All good. Ate dinner another night and the food was good again. Had fish and chips here tonight and the food and service was great.

The food here is really something to remember! Always a great lunch special daily, and unique foods that you wouldnt normally see at any other pub. I love that they always have local brewers on tap. I also love that they support their local artists and I quite enjoy weekends when they have live music! With all of that being mentioned, I have waited a minimum of 45 minutes and a maximum of 2 hours for my food every time I have visited here, regardless of the time.

Attempted to go here with a friend this past weekend. Waited 10 minutes for a table, they were busy, so I understand. We then sat at the table we were directed too and then waited another 10-15 minutes and never got drinks or menus, so we left. I most likely wont return.

Ordered steak for take out and it was the worst dinner we had ever had. Steak was over cooked, dry and lacked overal taste. The French fries were soggy and flavourless. Very over priced for the meal quality. We will not be back.

A solid pub, and I d definitely return if I was in the area again. Super nice staff and great atmosphere, in the heart of downtown Napanee. I enjoyed my club sandwich and my friend thought his French onion soup was okay.

The foods good here, and while the prices can be a little high its worth it due to the quality. I sadly am straight edge and as a result cannot comment on any of the beverages that they serve. The atmosphere is really chill. You got your tables, booths, you got the main bar, you got televisions with sports on & live music. Cant get much better than that; but they can - they have a patio they station out front as well for people who dislike the heavy hustle and bustle that can occur during busy hours. My only main complaint is the staff are sometimes a bit moody; but usually theyre not too bad. Wait times could be better; but every restaurants like that, cause they need the food prepared properly. So, thats understandable there. Vegetarian options: Up until recently I did not eat meat, and I would usually get food without such. It tastes like food, which is more than I can say for alot of other spots. Parking: I hope you like walking.

The food was typical pub food, my husband had the Ruben sandwich, it was burnt on both sides, not enough meat. I ordered the chicken breast with bake potato, the chicken breast was very small and dry.

Visiting downtown Napanee we spotted The Loaf N Ales beautiful outdoor patio and decided to stop for lunch. Starting off with the Nachos the flavour were fantastic with their bruschetta mix toppings. For lunch, I wanted to try the bacon and blue cheese loafer, and what an explosive flavour it had, along with a juicy well cooked beef patty! I also noticed live entertainment happens on the weekends. So we will definitely come back again to enjoy! The menu has so many delicious options to choose from no matter what time of day. Highly recommend!

A British pub - whats not to like. The Loaf and Ale. Unfortunately, loafing describes the service, but theres more that ails this place. But first my sad story: We (a party of five), arrived at 1:30. After 20-30 minutes, a server came to take our order, apologising for being late. Two other tables came in about that time. After 40 minutes our drinks arrived. Well two of our drinks arrived three were the wrong drinks. Our server apologized. Another 10 minutes and the remaining drinks arrived with more apologies. Shortly after, the other two tables received their food. At 2:50, having not received any updates (or suggestions on how to kill the time), I asked for an update. I have checked with the kitchen itll just be a minute or two -- sorry After 10 minutes I paid for a drinks to a flurry of apologies, although she screwed up the bill and had to redo this a time or two. We left at 3:00 p.m. So unfortunately I cannot review any of the food. Who knows, other people were eating, so you may be lucky. I do not have much to review. We were ignored and received apologies -- how appropriate as this is a sorry place. There are many places in Nappanee that actually serve food, I would recommend one of them. So in summary: great parking, a nice location, avoid at all costs.

Went in on a Sunday at lunch with a group of 11. We were seated quickly and service was fantastic, as was the food. Server (Tara?) was very accommodating with a good sense of humour which is always appreciated. Had roast beef special which was a very decent portion of food for $16.95. All 11 of us left satisfied and stuffed. Many restaurants these days are constantly short staffed and Im sure this place is no different at times. Be patient with your servers...it is quite often a very tiring and thankless job and they deserve to be treated better than they often are. If you cant be patient with them, dont eat out.

Hasnt been the same since kitchen crew changed. Never know if your going to get a great meal or something that looks like it was cooked as quick as mcdonalds. Great patio and live music is always great

The prices are way to high for the quality of food at this place. Unless you are drunk. To bad I do not drink.

Varied menu not only for lovers of beer and English dishes. Hearty dish. Fast and pleasant service. Recommended especially since in this city there is not much choice in terms of restaurants.

Nice looking pub dropped in for a couple of Guinness while in town and sat at the bar. Pub and restrooms were clean, beer was served promptly. My only complaint is that the bartender had the personality of a grave robber. She may be an efficient and dedicated employee but doesnt appear to possess any social skills whatsoever. Ive had warmer interactions with vending machines that at least thank you after your purchase. Perhaps someone had just run over her cat.

Great food. Service was spot on. Place is clean and comfortable. We will be back.

On Saturday, November 5, around 4p.m, we visited this Pub, we were never acknowledged the 10 minutes or more we sat there, even though the waitress and the girl behind the bar saw us come in. We decided to leave once the waitress approached another couple who walked in and were given the menu right away. We were very disappointed since we read good reviews, and insulted as well for the ignorance of the servers. Hard to think this wasn t personal since the waitress made eye contact and still never approached us to say something while we sat and waited, or when we started to leave. Would help to know if this has happened before to anyone

I give it a 3 because of the servers. They are great. The owner on the other hand .

Had a horrible pina colada that tasted like crushed ice and milk.

Meh. To be honest. Kind of disappointed. Girls had beef dips. They were basically chewy slabs of gristle. My berger was good but lacked anything other than meat and cheese but some lettuce and tomato would have been great to lighten the clogger up.

I love this place been going there for awhile now and love love love the food and atmosphere! Also love the waitresses they are great people!

Service: frenzied and yet largely ineffectual. Atmosphere: under-heated and not quite shabby. Food: reheated discount catering wholesale. Chilli con (sin) Carne: the meal formerly known as lumpy tomato soup. Pasta: penne a la ketchup. Apparently the grey-green flecks are alleged to be basil. Beer is fine. Drink here. Dont eat.

Just left here, had a great lunch. Pam our server was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. We had the soup of the day and jalapeño poppers. Both were so yummy. Great place. I do recommend

Went for lunch with my sister Thursday. Food, service and atmosphere was all great and they had the games on. A wonderful pub I will visit again.

Its an awesome place to meet up with friends for an amazing meal and great service by the staff and the owner . You get treated with respect and kindness when your at their restaurant.
