Founded in 2019, The Soup Can is a little “Mom and Pop Shop” that offers fresh homemade wholesome soups and sandwiches made to order. Located in downtown Kingston, The Soup Can is the winner of 2019 and 2020 Platinum Award for Best Soups in Kingston. In 2022, The Soup Can opened a second location in Napanee, Ontario!

The Soup Can came to our rescue on a cold, blustery afternoon when all the nearby eateries gave us the shoulder ("we're fully booked," one said; "we have yet to start lunch service," another retorted). We entered the The Soup Can without much confidence because it was the only available option in the neighbourhood and my spirits dipped even lower when I realized that there was only 1 person behind and in front of the counter. We placed our order for a dumpling soup and the smoked chicken noodles soup, and prepared ourselves for a long wait. When our order came out of the tiny kitchen in an astonishingly short time and reached our table, we were surprised and how!! The dumpling soup was full of umami flavour, the dumplings themselves were well-made. The noodles soup was the star - infused with smoke and redolent with spices, it was the best experience in Napanee for us that day. When we said our goodbyes to the chef cum waiter (a gentleman in his senior years), I told him with unalloyed happiness that his soups were among the best I have tasted. I don't know whether we will ever be in Napanee again but I will always carry a bright spot of the place in my heart. Pls visit this tiny, hole-in-the-wall place for some memorable soup!!
I’m constantly driving between Ottawa and Toronto. So finding the great spots along the 401 is a must. Had the lasagna soup and it was one of the best soups I can say I’ve had. Only 7 minutes off the 401 and a must if you’re passing through the area. Lots of free street parking.
We ordered take out from The Soup Can, we had the dumpling soup, the mushroom soup, the smoked chicken noodle soup and the jerk chicken sandwhich and all was excellent. I especially loved the sandwhich and the dumpling soup and will definitely be ordering again! HIghly recommend this hidden gem!
For the 1st time, I tried the soup can and I had the Mac and cheeseburger with a bun toasted with garlic butter …and it was so delicious!!! best soup I’ve had in months and Bill was fantastic! excellent customer service!! Thank You Bill for making my lunch today!!!
I had the dumpling soup, delicious! Finished it cold the next day, even better. My aunt enjoyed her creamy mushroom rice soup very quickly, the best she said!
The Skinny: This soup is a reason to visit Napanee. It's that good! The Bad: we seemed to be there at a busy time, so it took a long time to order and get served the food. But who cares? Cuz... The Good: the food we got was INCREDIBLE. The Wild Mushroom cream soup and the Lasagne Soup were both incredibly delicious. So was the garlic baguette toast! And all at a very, very fair price. I've never said to myself 'hmmm I want to go to a soup place'... But I think if I'm on the 401 one day, I might say 'hmmm I want to go to Napanee for the soup' down the road! Great stuff!
My wife kept telling me about the awesome soup. She was correct. Fantastic dumpling soup. Super fresh. Even grated the carrots infront of me for the soup. Made to order. Can’t go wrong 5 Stars for sure. Keep up great work.

I love this place. Service is awesome. Food is delicious and to order for my food intolerance. I crave the dumpling soup. Its so yummy! Vegetarian options: Several options and everything is delicious. The garlic spread for the baguette is vegan and yummy! Dietary restrictions: I am dairy intolerant and allergic to shrimp. There were lots of choices available to me and they were able to accommodate me. I even had mushroom soup which I havent had in ages. It was delicious.
Extremely good, even my boyfriend liked it and he s very picky I recommend it for people who love savoury warm meals.
Great place and great atmosphere. I would love to visit again. Though please accommodate things for people with lactose intolerance. Would give us more options to pick Dietary restrictions: Please use Lactose intolerance (butter on the garlic bread, milk for the food)
First time visitors. We had the broccoli soup, the Mac and cheese soup and tortilla soup with a cheese and chilli roll on the side (which was a meal on its own). We all had small soups which provided an ample amount for a lunch on a cool rainy day. Most of all I like to thank Bill, the man behind the counter and at the grill making our delicious food. He was kind, polite, and very accommodating. Great place with a nice hygge vibe. Wheelchair accessibility: Small door sill sized step to get in and ramps inside as needed.

Delicious! Had to stop by and try as I like to support local businesses and I am glad I did. I got the cauliflower bacon soup and cheesy tomato bacon baguette. Very yummy dare I say best soup I had. Owner was also very polite and nice to talk with! Will definitely come back to try the other options! :)
