We just had the most terrible dining experience at this restaurant. First of all, it took them 25 mins after giving us water and menus to take the order, as I am not exaggerating when I say that. Then the food comes, and it is not only cold, but cooked completely wrong. No one came to ask how the food is tasting, so I had to sit with it for another 15-20 mins. I didn’t even wanna have it replaced at that point. So we just packed some leftovers and left. My wife’s Santa-fe chicken was cold and not tender at all. The appetizers were so so. We used to go here much more often, but never again. If you want shitty food at a place that looks quite nice, this is for you.
Went with large group (which makes it hard on the servers), but my partner ordered prime rib as rare as they could serve it. They brought it out and it was medium+. We asked the server to have it replaced. She was very agreeable and professional. However, some guy came out and started arguing and being confrontational - even drawing everyone's attention by putting his phone just over the meat with the light on to explain that my partner was likely not seeing it properly! We told him to leave us. Thankfully the servers came back and made it right with a replacement. I realize these are first world problems, but when the dish is about $50, you do expect to be able to order it to the temperature the server said was available. Apart from the man with no customer service skills, the staff was excellent.
The staff was all very friendly and our meal was great. I only gave it 4 stars because we had two servers and it made things confusing as we were asked the same questions multiple times, and they didn't seem to communicate with each other which was slightly annoying (it was just my husband and I). We ordered spinach dip and cauliflower bites for appetizers and never received the cauliflower bites (we were not charged, so it wasn't a big deal). We were seated at a table as we didn't have reservations (totally fine) but ended up waiting quite a while for our bill and the debit/credit machine that my back was aching. I also wouldn't recommend the creme brulé as the top was burnt (this is my favorite dessert, and I've never had it like that before). I would expect better after spending nearly 180$
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant from start to finish. Staff at the front desk were very unwelcoming. They both had their heads down when we walked in and allowed another guess ahead of us. They clearly saw us standing there waiting to be addressed. We ordered our drinks, and the server didn't even offer us water. I've been wanting to try the seafood tower since last summer. Needless to say, my lobster was spoiled. I was given another one , but i was still very disappointed with the food and the service we received. We will definitely not go back to this location!!
The food tonight was just terrible, thought I could let it go but after spending $90 on our out of town dinner where we both ate less than half our meals I felt as if I should leave my review. Aside from the food being horrible the service was also terrible. Our sever didn't even acknowledge our almost full plates and rejection of Togo boxes . It wasn't till we had paid and were walking out door did someone ask us how our food was to which I responded with "not great" and the hostess responded "sorry to hear, I hope you enjoy the evening" this makes me think this is a common occurrence. Please note the plates as we were paying the bill.
I have my beautiful daughter to call in for my birthday dinner reservation. This is my first time visiting BR . Honestly, we had a great time It was fun being in a relaxing atmosphere to celebrate my birthday with my family and friends. The foods 😋 taste good. Our server, lovely Martine, did an amazing job. Martine is friendly, fun, prompt, and professional. I will be back!
We came in as a group of 14 for my girls' 40th bday. We had a great time. The food was amazing, and the prices were good. The restaurant was SUPER CLEAN. The owner came up and made sure everything was good, and that was awesome. It's nice to see owners thank their customers ❤️ first time at that location, and i will for sure be going back.
Nice decor, nice service, a bit overpriced. Tried the following: - spinach dip — generous amount with a good flavour - calamari — breading was too thick, and portion isn’t plentiful - club sandwich — good, but nothing special for that price Unfortunately service was slow and the waiter apologized for the delay from the kitchen. It was an ok experience, but very underwhelming for the money spent.
Melissa never brought the highchair and spoon we requested. She didnt check in on us or ask if we needed anything else. Food was fine.
Very disappointed pieces of wood inside the meat, which caused choking. Once the waitress was told, her reply was that she hoped I would enjoy the food tomorrow. The best thing I can say is stay away from this location if you do happen to go and have any issues be prepared for the worst.... Update.... We gave this location a second chance and decided to get Ribs, which came cold but otherwise good. As a starter, we had Calamari, which is the most expensive Calamari we have ever had. We received approximately 10 pieces, which cost us $20, which is about 2 dollars per tiny Calamari. We asked the staff if this was a new portion or if there was an error, which he got the manager to come over and explain to me that they are aware of the small amount and that many have complained about this. He thanked me for bringing it to his attention and did nothing to fix or resolve the issue. This was and is the final attempt at this location and will no longer be eating here. Would recommend staying far away.
Good ambiance, great ribs
I would rather go to Macdonalds. Service from server and mangers was deplorable and unsanitary. Never again !
We had reserved a private room, for a celebration of life dinner. When booking a private room there is a minimum amount you must spend. So if you dont reach your your cap, just order double and take it home! All staff are friendly and accommodating. Appetizers were done well. I ordered filet mignon (med rare) with a fully loaded baked potato. Filet was very good but, just a bit dry. My potato was amazing! Cream brulee, was also amazing, extremely generous portion! My partner ordered the rib steak as he really enjoyed the filet mignon from his previous visit to this location. He wasnt happy with the steak. But the rest of his meal was really well done. Our other 8 dinner mates enjoyed there meals and sweet desserts. This location is a great place for any occasion. I will definitely return the next time Im back in Ottawa!
Nice friendly staff. However, the signature ribs were dry and tasteless. Other food ordered in group was fine based on their feedback.
Great filet cooked to perfection Thank you for a lovely meal Food
Nice atmosphere but the food was just ok. Not what we expected and certainly not for the price. Recommended prime rib was tende and luke warm, baked potato was nicelydone but served almost cold, ribs sauce was gooey and the chicken tenders were overly coated. They were supposed to have a tempura batter but it was more like KFC. Overall a disappointment. Won t go back.
Very expensive
Came to baton rouge on Saturday for my mother s 50th birthday and i was very unhappy with the manager. First off it took almost 30 min for us to get our drinks and then my mother food was undercooked and we sent it back and it still wasn t good but she ate as we were starving and then my aunt and father order the chicken and ribs and they forgot the chicken and by them time we got the chicken everyone had finish there meals and the chicken was dry, i kindly as to get compensation/discount as i was not very happy and the manager she was rude and arrogant. My bill was almost 400$ and it wasn t good food. Very Disappointed.
Great food. No complaints.
Great steaks and sides for the price
Update: Reply from manager is standard. I m so glad you ll take this under consideration but it doesn t make up for poor quality food we paid for. I m sharing this review to help others not make the same mistake we did tonight. I realize food prices have gone up but when quality goes down it s very disappointing. Five of us dined at BR. My son s $47 NY striploin was terrible (had better from Costco) and my partner s ribs were very thin with hardly any meat and the baked potato was undercooked. The other items were just ok. Fries could have been from McDonald s. $200 later and no one had anything good to say about any of the food we ordered. It was very disappointing as we were looking forward to a nice family meal out. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere for better food. This place has gone downhill.
Great dinner at BR last night. Our order was corrected, all staff went out of their way to apologize. I think our super server s name was Gregory - the hockey guy! Thanks to the Manager and staff - we will be back! Great evening.
How come you sell the pre-cook ribs, and food even not preheated and bring to people to eat??????????
I went to this location with my co-workers on last Friday. We were not satisfied with service. First of all, It was my birthday and they promised a cake at the end, but nothing happened. Secondly, they promised to waved bills for the cold beef. However, they still charged us a half of these bills . We were quite disappointed.
I am extremely disappointed with my recent visit to this Baton Rouge location. I was served a cold beef which is unacceptable for any dining experience, especially at this price point. Despite bringing this issue to the manager, I was still charged 50% which added to my dissatisfaction. This experience reflects poorly on both the food quality and customer service. I expected much better and hope this feedback will seriously be taken to improve future guests.
Worst meal ever at BR. Smaller less choices on the menu. The worst chicken sandwich I ever had. KFC big crunch is far better. There was too much breading and not enough chicken to even taste it.
The food was fantastic but above all the service was above and beyond. I ordered pick up and due to an error with my order (not their fault, I picked coleslaw and fries with their pickup system and when I went to checkout I didnt notice it somehow was added as two coleslaw orders) and they fixed it for me after the fact at no cost to me. The manager at the Hunt Club Road location was just so kind and after a tough day it was the silver lining. Thank you so very much!!
My family had dinner at BR the other night. Considering how quiet it was for a Friday, the service was incredibly slow. 3 out of 4 of the main courses were good but the fillet mignon was unevenly cooked and looked terrible. It definitely left a lot to be desired for a $47 plate. Otherwise everything else was all right.
Service was quick and efficient. Dessert was mostly good with the exception of my guests carrot cake which was a little dry. The prime rib I ordered was full of tendons. I couldnt even finish it let alone cut it up. This was pointed out to the server with little response. Ive never had a cut like this from the butcher let alone a steakhouse. Disappointing and unlikely to return as they were given the opportunity to make it right.
Had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The waitress that served us made the experience all the better. Martine is amazing, if you re lucky enough to have her serve you, a good time automatically becomes a great time. Thank you Martine for all that you do, your service is unmatched! Keep up the great work!
Great, friendly service, nice atmosphere, but food is mediocre at best. There are literally hundreds of better restaurant options if youre looking for good food. While independent mom and pop restaurants struggle to stay open, chain restaurants soldier on with declining food quality. Support local!
I will never go to BR again. The steak was terrible almost dry not a great cut at all. I had it taken back but still the replacement was.bad. Not rare not tender. Service was.terrible and long Never again Food
The food was great and the staff was friendly but at the end of our meal we waited 20 minutes to get our bill that was a little to long for me. Otherwise it was a great meal Parking: Plenty of parking only 2 handicap spaces at the door. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access room to maneuver
Chain restaurant experience at high end price. Nothing memorable about the place.
Service was ok. Hard to say the same for the food. The price didnt match the quality. Nor the quantity.
Husband ordered prime rib, but was served tough, gristly and very fatty meat. Manager was called and he said that the whole beef was marbled like that! Prime rib is like butter, not gristly, tough and with notable pieces of fat. He said, Do you want another type of steak? How unprofessional! He obviously had no better prime rib to offer. This is a shame. The wife had bbq ribs but they were not notable; just small, overcooked, & doused with a lot of bbq sauce. We will NOT return.
The ribs are spectacular.
Good menu, good food, good service! Thats it!
Delicious food with good prices! It made for a nice date night.
Absolutely wonderful! Our server Lauren was very professional and made our experience great! One of the best dinners and the filet mignon was exceptional! A nice birthday surprise dessert was very special. We will definitely be back! Thanks again!
Everything is good always. This is the first time we had went to this specific location. But as usual your never disappointed!
Its a bit pricey, but it is a nice and welcoming atmosphere inside. It has two sitting areas, one is more like a sports bar, and the other one is a cozy and quiet restaurant area.
First time here, the food was delicious with good-sized portions and a good selection of kids item on the menu!
Went there on a busy Saturday night and as a Celiac, it can be stressful when the restaurant is busy. But our server (I m so sorry I didn t hear her name correctly but I want to say Martina) was an absolute delight. She was aware of celiac disease and reassured me quickly. The staff that helped her carry the food was also aware and careful. Floor manager was going from table to table to make sure everyone was having a good evening and mentioned that celiac runs in the owners family so they take good precautions. Food was delicious, service impeccable and price reasonable. We will definitely go back! Dietary restrictions: They have a gluten free menu.
Loud, the food was passable or horrible, not worth the price tag, but good drinks- excellent bartender
Would you like to pay $23 for 6 small bites of lobster? Enjoy garlic butter that tastes like an old pantry? Like your steak still cold inside? DINE HERE! $70 for this plate (see pics). Mashed tates were prob the best thing on this plate. I used to come BR often. Now its ded. Go elsewhere.
Our server Mario was amazing..food was fantastic..will go back next time we are in Ottawa. Btw, ever thought of bringing the chain out West like Calgary?!?!
Excellent service. I regretted ordering a non-signatory dish. My wife ordered a signatory dish and had no regrets
Expensive and the beef wasn t good
I called pretty last minute, and a really friendly and helpful staff member found immediate space for my party of 6 (which included two 6 year olds and a baby). We were greeted warmly when we arrived, and that great service continued for the entire duration of our stay. Front of house, back of house, and even the manager offered us excellent service. Our food was delicious, and, for the first time in a while, we didnt feel like we paid a lot of money for low quality food & service. It was worth every dollar, and we ll be back soon. Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly environment. Wheelchair accessibility: We were seated at a table that could easily accommodate multiple wheelchairs if necessary. Also, bathroom, doors, and navigating within the resto. are wheelchair accessible.
I always loved the ribs and fries here. While I feel like the quality of the ribs has slide in the past few years (smaller and less flavourful meat), it is still a great meal!
Prime rib isnt that good. Doesnt compare to Chop or the Keg. Spinach dip was really watery. But, octopus , calamari, sides and wine choices were great! Food : 3/5
It was fine, but pricy
Great NewYork Stirloin and the sauce comes with it was really rich of flavor and super creamy which makes the steak even more tender. Service was extremely good and attentive.
Saying our experience was a disappointment is an understatement. We waited half an hour to an empty patio and bar area that didnt fill up all through the time we were there. 1st strike. Got seated and server was really polite. Dylan, if you read this, this is nothing against you, you did your part well. The cesar salad was about as good as prepackaged one from supermarkets. The clam chowder tasted like a can of Chucky. 2nd strike. Took the ribs with the tenders, for what is said to be THE best ribs... Well Ive had better at about any restaurant I can think of. The tenders were good at least but still 3rd strike for me. At least the loaded mashed potatoes was an absolute délice. Most definitely not eating at Bâton Rouge ever again.
Magnificent meal in every way ! Big portions...and big in flavor too. The ribs were succulent and perfectly done. Lobster tail.. out of this world. It was busy but everything arrived nice and hot. Great server too (Thx Marco!). Will definitely be back.
Overall this was a really good meal. The service was great. The food was great. I thought the price was on par for what you get. Ill be back!
This was one of the worst resturant I have ever been to. The food was bland and tasteless, I had the ribs and it was horrible and tasted like it was boiled mystery meat. This place is a rip off and I warn you all to NEVER GO HERE!! The servers were non-existent and this ruined my night. It also took over 20 minutes to get service and they were very slow. Over charged, underwhelmed and overall disappointed severely.
I had always been under the impression that Baton rouge was a tad bit higher end than the usual fare. Boy were we disappointed. Personally I had the ribs with a lobster tail side, 25$ for a tail that was all of 4 bites. It was rubbery and the garlic butter side was awful. The kids had the chicken tenders, they looked great but were far from the best ever. For the money, this is not worth it. Better ribs almost everywhere, flavorless with burnt on sauce. Service was super slow, for an empty restaurant we were there for 1.5 hours. Took 10 min to see a server and we were never even offered to order a second drink.
Excellent quality and outstanding service
Excellent hand battered chicken tenders! A bit greasy but fill that craving and the price is reasonable.
Very good food but prices a little high
First experience, I recommend this place. Very good service, fast and delicious.
Good food, marginal service. Sitting at the bar, one of two people in the place, had to hunt down my own cutlery while the servers watched. Only interaction with the staff was when they were trying to upsell me.
It s always a pleasure dinning here. The food and service are great as always. Kid-friendliness: Limited kids menu but some entertainment in form of crayons and colouring sketch is provided. High chairs available. Food : 5/5 |
Delicious food, excellent customer service. Was visiting Ottawa and met up with old friends for dinner and we got so caught up in chatting that we stayed past closing and didnt even realize, they were so accomodating that when we finally looked around and saw empty tables and asked and they told us uber politely that yes the restaurant was closed for the night, whoops, we hadnt realized. Anyway, great experience here overall.
Rib special was amazing.
I hated there veggie options their lotus bowl is so bad they deep fried there turnip it taste burnt! They said that s how they Make it! I got halloumi gnocchi not good either! They charged 15 dollars for a sangria as well! Food
treat yourself with nice place, potato soup from there is the best choose
Rib steak cooked medium, with vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. Steak was perfect, veggies a little undercooked but still tasty. Be warned, the mashed potatoes have nutmeg in it which completely changes the flavor. Totally overpowered the garlic.
Come on people Its Baton Rouge. They know how to cook a steak. The bar tenders allowed me to try two different types of Coors because there are two now. I ordered a side of mushrooms with my meal and it was huge and cooked to perfection. Baton Rouge always satisfies. 10 out of 10 Thank you guys Oh. Beautiful Creme Brule as well to finish off a perfect meal
Service was excellent. Ribs & fries were over cooked. Have had pleasant experience with the same order In the past. It was disappointing.
Excellent evening out with family! Excellent, warm and friendly service (Linda <3) made our evening out/celebration that much more enjoyable. Thank You ALL! Dietary restrictions: Excellent care when dealing with food allergens
Upscale but relxaed steakhouse atmosphere and my steak was perfect.
Exceptional service. Martine is extremely pleasant to deal with and provides her assistance in drink recommendations and even went above and beyond by accommodating it to my preferences. However, was not as impressed with my entree as I had asked for a medium well prime rib and it was more on the rare side sadly, but the service definitely overrules this discrepancy.
Do yourself a favour and sit in Martine s section absolutely 5 star service. And coming from the service Industry myself I am extremely picky.
Had a wonderful evening with friends who raved about their steak and the ribs. I tried the mushroom chicken, I felt that the gravy over powered the beautifuly cooked chicken and amazing mashed potatoes. I would recommend asking for the gravy on the side in order to control the amount on your dish. Wheelchair accessibility: One of my friends was in a wheelchair. They have automatic doors and removed chairs at a table to accommodate the wheelchair.
Staff are nice but
Worst experience ever .. this is supposed to be a fancy restaurant I definitely will never go again ..my food was under cooked had the sea food pasta and my scallops were raw ..no cutlery.. took 30 min to even get a drink also the napkin I got had hair wrapped up in it .. never again should have went to montanas or loan star
Had a very nice early dinner wife my and son tonight. Food was very tasty (huge portions), service was great (our server Melissa was awesome). Nice big booths to sit in. Not crammed in. Parking: Lots of parking. Kid-friendliness: Typical kids menu. My son loved the ribs!!
We had a lovely Friday date night made a reservation for 5pm for 2 got fresh food and drinks. Ribs and chicken were great. Our server Kat was very accommodating to my dairy allergy she told us the steak special with rice pilaf and some vegetables. It was amazing. We ordering our food right away with our drinks and everything tasted amazing. Dietary restrictions: Dairy
Went for a romantic dinner with my wife Food was great! Server was friendly and helpful Food
The food that I asked was good, but definitely the value do not compensate it. I had a friend that asked for a meal that was horrible and the manager just could say that have people that liked it. I know that everybody have a taste, but since when is considered ok chips have a burn taste? For a restaurant that is suppose to be awesome? In the end the manager even want that this person pay full price for the meal, good that this person was complain about it, but the manager tried to fool the person and this is disgusting. Too bad that Mandarin was full on this day, that one is the one that I dont cry to give my money.
Our waitress was rude and neglectful of her job. Another server did half her job for her. She didn t even check on us after we received our food until we were over halfway done our meals which were not good. The food was cold, our steak was under seasoned and had an over powering wine taste. When the manager came to our table he was rude as well and basically accused my husband of being a drunk. We were brought clearly microwaved food as replacement. We weren t compensated or even given a proper apology.
It was awesome as usual. Food and service was excellent.....
Great food and excellent service
Had the filet mignon with red potato garlic potatoes....so good! I did need it to be a little more cooked....I should have asked for well done. They were amazing. It came back perfectly done! By the manager, no less. Thank you for such a lovely experience!
I had an exceptional dining experience at Baton Rouge. The ambiance was inviting, the staff were friendly, and the food surpassed my expectations. Each dish showcased a perfect balance of flavors, and the presentation was impressive. The chefs attention to detail truly elevated the meal. I highly recommend PLATEAU SURF & TURF it was a culinary delight. The service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. Overall, Baton rouge offers a delightful combination of excellent cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a must-visit for any food enthusiast.
Very nice restaurant,best food
It s ok. I got the rack of ribs and the potato soup. Although the potatoes soup is really like a thinner version of mash potatoes.
The staff Angelica and owner George were absolutely amazing and very very helpful! They helped me plan a surprise for my sisters 18th birthday and she was very happy. I really appreciate all the help from Angelica she did not even hesitate to help me from the minute I walked through the doors until I left. Thank you again very much!
Everything was going well. The food was good and the service as well. Until we were about to leave the restaurant (the restaurant was closing) we rented a private room so we had the privilege to put music in that room. At the end, the manager came with this rude tone asking us to cut the music. Which was fine. But the tone was rude. So I went to him and I told him that I didn t appreciate the tone but he kept on giving excuses and he even tried to cut me off while talking to him.
The worst manager ever, whoever manager that was in charge on Jan 2nd 2024 around 9pm is very disrespectful. My friend rented a private room for her birthday dinner and we were playing a music that was of course connected to the whole restaurant s TV( that s the restaurant job to detach the private room tv from the restaurant). While we we re getting ready to leave, that manager screamed at us in front of other customers and when we approach him, he continued to raise his voice and not listen to us. This is very disrespectful, we didn t eat there for free plus my fiend rented that room with money not for free. Just because we are black and young it doesn t mean we deserve to be disrespected and screamed at. This awful act of that manager really broke me and my friends heart and we never going back to that restaurant again.
Good meal, excellent reaction from the staff when a dish was not up to par!!
I loved it! Service and food were great!!
Fantastic food and the staff were exceptional!
Love going here for a special dinner gathering. The food has always been excellent, and were never disappointed with the quality, friendliness, and service of the staff. This last visit was no exception. Its our go to restaurant for only the most special of occasions.
Ribs were costly for a meal that is comparable to fast food. We had great service, avg 65$ per person. The shrimp appetizer was absolutely delicious! The French Onion soup was very good. The ribs were fall off the bone but with not much life left in them, quite dry and I literally felt.loke Swiss Chalet has a better rib. Parking: Large mall style parking lot, with box stores, a hotel and restaurants. Ample parking.
I had a horrible experience here. first of all, the servers felt like they didn t want to serve us. next, the fries were so salty i thought i was going to get a heart attack. and let s not get into those chicken tenders. the coating tasted so bizzare it tasted like a fried cloud bread. IT EVEN TASTED LIKE SOAP!!! the chicken tasted like any ordinary white chicken flavoured with salt and a pinch of pepper. now onto the ribs. the ribs had no flavour and it was dry. i could make better ribs with them frozen restaurant ones. they didn t even add enough bbq sauce on it. the service was so bad, i d give it a zero, but that s not possible so i ll give it a one. thank you for your time.
Customer service was good, food prorations fair for price and quality. Our server worked efficiently and was nice and kind.
Went there after work with buddies, quick service and loved the ribs!
Had a great dinner tonight (ribs of course) and we could not say enough about our server Jay . This was the day power outages were rampant throughout the city and the restaurant was short staffed both on the floor and in the kitchen. Jay was run off his feet and never lost his professionalism or focus on good customer service. Thanks for a fine evening that could have been otherwise Jay!
There are two table of Asians have been sent to another lounge while main lounge(all white people there) has lots of tables available ( Picture just one part, still more spots there
One of our favourite steak or rib places in ottawa. Oh so much food, nice atmosphere and great service
My family went there for my husband birthday (February) My dauther (6) and I went in first. Was told they only had table (no booth) called my husband and he wanted to wait for a booth. Came my husband, heard him speak to the front desk girl She says she had table in the bar, my husband asked how long for a booth in the restaurant, next thing we know there was a booth for us. Confusion then...we sat down and there was a lot of booths available. Questionning ourselves then...mixed couple with a mixed kid? We made the best of it, but that wasnt a good experience and we will not be back . Food was just OK, nothing special. Service was OK, nothing special.
Great food, friendly staff and convenient location.
Nice people good customer service
Inadequate attention to service, and entrees that left a lot to desire. For example, if your order comes with fries and coleslaw, but you ask for mash potatoes, you won t get any kind of vegetable including coleslaw. So it s really just a protein and mash potatoes $30 later. Another example, we made drink orders twice, and after the third request we finally got our drinks we were almost done dinner at that point. I thought this could have been an alternate option to The Keg. I m disappointed I got my hopes up.
Ribs are very good. Id definitely go again. Service was so so but we were a large group. Parking: All good.
Friendly and professional service. The Mac n cheese gnocchis are a must-try. The medium-rare strip loin steak was cooked to perfection, which can be rare to find these days. The bathrooms were clean and the chocolate cake was rich and smooth, but on the smaller portion size. Overall, the restaurant has good customer service, fair food portions for the price and quality, and efficient and friendly servers.
Nice place, we went as a small group for lunch, the hamburger was amazing and the salads were huge and loded with fresh ingredients, the chicken and ribs were also a hit at ouf table. The staff are very profesional and friendly. I am going to go back to try the dinner menu. I have been several to this location and it is constantly good..
Always great food and service. Had Louisiana chicken salad for lunch and HIGHLY recommend it Food
Good food and service
What a disappointment!! I went with my wife for lunch at this place and payed over 120$ for 2 meals, 1 appetizer and one drink. Paying that much for a very poor service and such a low quality food is a catch. It took them 1.5 hours to cook 2 burgers and some fries. And at the end the food arrived cold and looked disgusting. When I brought that to their attention, they went to warm up some fries to take out, which I had to throw in the garbage. Never again
Food was incredible as always, only downside was the size or the salmon steak
Its a nice place and the servers were able to give us a good experience. They are helpfull and nice. The food could be better. We got the ribs and chicken. There is a lack of salt on the ribs, and the chicken sauce has a burned aftertasting. Bad luck for us, maybe, because the place is well reviewed. On the other side, the cheesecake was amazing. We will return and try something different.
Garbage steak. Simple food, so very chewy. Absolute trash service .We waited until the end of the meal to receive a drink. We waited for an answer from the management about the steak and I was told my steak could be refired. It wasnt about how it was cooked, it was about how terrible the food was. Absolute trash. I tipped, left and wont be going back. I would never recommend this restaurant.
Food was not bad but ... it took a while to get our food
Steak was incredibly bland, but my partner ordered seafood and enjoyed it. It took a long time to receive our food but our server and the restaurant itself were nice. Unsure if we would return when there are similarly priced steakhouses in the city.
Unfortunately my fiancé and I had horrible experience at this location. Our server was training a new employee and we waited over half an hour to place our order and only after I asked for another staff member to get our server. Our server didn t say anything about leaving us alone for so long or acknowledge it. My fiancé ordered a cocktail and they served him the mocktail version of it and we only realized when it was more than halfway completed. They brought our bill accidentally while we were still eating and then took it away. We tried to speak to someone else about our issues and they said they were going to do something about it. We were surprised when the bill came for the second time and our waitress didn t say anything. Since we didn t know if anything would change and didn t want to wait another 20/30 mins we paid our bill and left. We filled out our survey at home and it s been over a week and half and we haven t heard anything. This dinner was celebrating our fifth year anniversary and it was quite disappointing. Save your money & time! Go somewhere else!
Baton Rouge never fails, some of the best ribs Ive had ! Nevertheless i must say, for my last visit the ribs were a bit dry and not as suculent as usual ! The fries i recommend bringing back the slight garlic flavour, that seemed to be missing. The service was top notch. Overall great experience!
I recently had a weekday evening dinner at Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar on Hunt Club Drive, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. My colleague and I decided to sit on the patio, despite the slightly chilly weather. It would have been more comfortable if the restaurant had outdoor heaters to provide some warmth. Nonetheless, we managed fine and enjoyed the outdoor ambiance. We ordered the classic ribs, and they were absolutely delicious. The meat was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The accompanying fries were good, although they could have been a bit crispier, similar to past experiences Ive had at the restaurant. One aspect that stood out was the restaurants excellent selection of drinks. I was able to enjoy a refreshing gin and tonic, which was expertly prepared. The bar staff definitely knew their craft. However, what truly made the evening memorable was the extremely friendly wait staff. They were attentive, accommodating, and genuinely made an effort to ensure we had a pleasant dining experience. Their friendliness and professionalism added a positive touch to the overall visit. In conclusion, my dinner experience at Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar on Hunt Club Drive was enjoyable. The classic ribs were delicious, and although the fries could have been crispier, they were still tasty. The restaurants selection of drinks was impressive, and the gin and tonic I had was great. The standout feature, however, was the incredibly friendly wait staff, who made the evening memorable. I would recommend this restaurant to others seeking a pleasant dining experience
Great food! Desserts were amazing. Vegetarian options: Great and FILLING veggie options.
Simple request: no oil or margarine due to food sensitivity. Filet mignon arrived in a pool of greenish oil. Waitress argued with me about what I ordered. Had to leave to go to an appointment and couldn t wait for a new steak. Called back after my appointment to speak with the manager and was told by Emma I couldn t speak to the manager but could leave a message with my concerns about this poor experience. Very disappointed.
The last several times that my wife and I have dined here, the food and service were of the highest quality. In fact I felt obligated to speak to the manager and pass along our sincere satisfaction with our meals and servers. We will most definitely continue to eat at this establishment Dietary restrictions: One of the reasons we keep coming back is due to the great lengths that they go to, to ensure that there is no cross contamination from seafood and other meals Parking: Given that there are several restaurants in the area, parking can be somewhat difficult to find on busier nights, but there are several nearby lots for other businesses that can be used Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, this location is wheelchair accessible.
No walk in on fathers day at 4... restaurand was literally empty.
As someone on a stict Keto diet, I dont expect much from eating out. This Baton Rouge, however, met and even exceeded my expectations. I went for their famous ribs with avocado as side, olive oil and mayo as condiments. I asked them to be gentle on the BBQ sauce and the lady recommended putting the BBQ sauce on the side, even better! I few well respected and well taken care of. I finished everything that I was served. And btw, they were not skimpy on the gin amount in the gin-n-soda cocktail that I ordered. Well done Baton Rouge! Dietary restrictions: I am a strict Keto dieter.
Absolute garbage service-taste-attitude wise. Do NOT order seafood, and if you dare, dont even lick your shrimp because they tell you cant return any of what they served you. The most insulting thing from the alpha-male loud and obnoxious manager is an offer to box everything you returned due to the quality/health concerns. On the bright side, Mandarin is right there, on the same plaza with much better food
Update July 2023. This restaurant has recently been dethroned as the worst restaurant food experience I have had in Ottawa. So I now rank it the 2nd worst. Im not kidding. Food was absolutely TERRIBLE. Service was excellent so at least theres that. It really IS that bad tho. I didnt expect it, I dont understand it. But there it is. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Stick with The Keg. BR is NOT COMPARABLE.
When we are in Ottawa, we always stop at this location, we love the spinach dip. The service and the atmosphere are both good.
Great food and service. Dinner for two usually under $80 with no liquor.
Great food and service on a Saturday night!
Great food and great atmosphere
Wow, havent tasted better ribs so far . Des
Steak was like a family restaurant, not like steak house quality.
Food is just as all Baton Rough. Service was great. Staff are friendly. Lots of free parking. Great for large groups.
I really should have read the reviews about their steak before ordering the prime rib. It was absolutely the worst steak Ive ever had. The moment the plate was brought to me, the presentation was extremely unappetizing. The meat was gray and looked tough. The moment I tried cutting a piece with the knife, it felt tough. And when I bit into it, I was disgusted. I truly suspect that their prime rib is not prime rib. My best guess is its blade roast. Ive had prime rib at many other restaurants before, so I know what prime rib is supposed to look and taste like. I can easily say the prime rib at AYCE buffets are better than this. After telling the server that the steak was inedible, the manager came to speak with me, and he tried to explain that since I ordered the 16-oz steak, it was a thicker cut and therefore the inside was not fully cooked. He suggested that the steak be butterfly cut and cooked a little more. I was hesitant in trying to save the steak, but I gave it a shot anyway. Not surprisingly, the steak was still tough. The manager then agreed to replace the steak with a filet mignon. Awesome, filet mignon is one of the most tender cuts, and its nearly impossible to screw it up. Well, guess what? It was slightly chewy as well, but fortunately not as tough as the prime rib. At least it was juicy and not dry. I also didnt think it had enough seasonings. I ate it anyway, but I can say with certainty that I will never, ever order steak from Baton Rouge ever again. In fact, this is the second time Ive been let down by bad steak. The previous time was at a different Baton Rouge location. Instead, they are known for their fall-off-the-bone ribs, so I will get that next time. I really did appreciate the fact that both the server and manager tried their best to satisfy my appetite, but if their cuts of meat are always this awful, they will never be taken seriously as a steakhouse.
This restaurant is the name of a place in North Carolina in the eastern United States, so its food has the local characteristics, but the quality and taste are not uniform. But the service and atmosphere are excellent, and the decoration also has the local color of Eastern America.
Worst dining experience ever. Over an hour and a half to get our meal. If it wasnt for the bartender coming over and taking care of us, we would never have gotten our meal.
Super good the batin rouge is the best thing in the world I would like to go there all my life too magnificent cuisine too good service just cool atmosphere so relaxing just too cooooooool the best of the best its just too cool so thats it THANK YOU!!! Parking: GOOD Wheelchair accessibility: GOOD
Absolutely amazing food! Great taste, the chicken was tender, and the octopus appetizer was tender as well! All so well cooked and amazing flavours! The staff was wonderful, especially our server Martine! She was absolutely wonderful and ensured our time there was amazing! She was kind and helpful and positive. Definitely great service along with great food!
RUN RUN RUN terrible place!
We had the Black Cod (1) and Grilled Mediterranean Branzino (2) neither as represented on the menu online and the Branzino/sea bass had no mushrooms or greens. Our menu selections were underwhelming. Wheelchair accessibility: Parking, restaurant and washroom are wheelchair friendly.
A little noisy when there is a group Parking: No problem
John was very kind and helpful and made our dining experience wonderful.
Cant beat the ribs. Best ever!!
So me and my fiancé go out for a date night grab a hotel look around and see Baton Rouge Ive never been there lets try it we are invited right in and quick to a seat! So that was good then we ordered our server was awesome ordered a bunch of things all very good one of the things where the General Tao cauliflower bits were super good but found 2 pieces of hair the first one was on it ... kind of brushed it off but baked into another was another hair so I asked the server is there suppose to be stringy things in it cuz maybe it wasnt hair .... so the manager comes pretty much blaming us this never happens especially 2 in the same plate no apology took the plate passively blamed us and disappeared .... now in my previous issues in restaurants they come take away apologies are said and comp something and or offer a new thing think that happened .... nope your manager ... maybe should look at a more people person who doesnt play it off like it was us who baked the hair Into it and maybe instead o that never happens here we all where hair nets so never Excuses and unprofessional Probably wont ever go back and wont recommend which is too bad after spending $250 and enjoying your Cesars.... o well dont blame customers for cooking errors PS: the server was awesome!
Food was great but it was pricey. Higher end food Pricing. Food was yummy. It seemed a little bit disorganized by Servers and Manager!
If you want consistently good, fall-off the bone ribs, this is the place for you. I love the tangy bbq sauce and the fries. We had the creamy poblano soup as an appetizer and it was very good. The food is a tad pricey but well worth it. The service was efficient and the staff was courteous. Will definitely go there again.
Ordered the octopus as an appetizer and let me tell you I dont recommend it..! It was pure garbage. Octopus look like it came out of somebodys fish tank. Overcooked, served on top of some sort of white slop. Main course was supposed to be prime rib and tried pawning off two burnt ends as that. So we settled for rib steak instead which was not the best. May I add a 45 minute wait after our appetizers. Very disappointing, $165.00 dollars for garbage, Never again. They need to get act together.
The service was excellent and so were the drinks however, as a long time customer who s always loved Baton Rouge(BT) and paying for what I get has never been a problem but tonight for my anniversary diner I ve never been so disappointed with the quality of the meals. Both our steaks were bland (no flavor) and I didn t receive the cut of steak I ordered although the owner who came to speak to us assured me it was. It was not! The veggies were undercooked, I could barely cut my carrots with a knife, almost raw and my spouses mashed potatoes were full of chunks yet they looked like they were powdered potatoes. I ordered tiger shrimp but received regular shrimp (smaller) but the owner advised me they gave me an extra shrimp as they were not tiger shrimp and the new menu hadnt arrived yet. The waitress advised us that a non-Canadian company purchased BT a couple years ago and now many items are pre-made like you would find at your local McDonald s. My salad, which I paid extra for was obviously pre-made and sitting in the fridge in a bowl ready to go for when someone ordered it. Nothing is freshly made on order anymore. The prices have skyrocketed which wasn t an issue until we realized the quality had gone down so much we might as well go to McDonald s. They have lost my business as I refuse to pay those prices for the same quality as fast-food restaurants.
Good food. Cold in the restaurant though. Not enough staff though..service a little slow
Very friendly staff and great food. My only concern was having to wait for close to 20 minutes to be seated in a restaurant that was nearly empty. While we waited, the bar had only 2 tables, which were occupied. This was at 5:30 dinner time, so Id figure that the restaurant could handle more groups.
Delicious food and excellent service!
Great food. Kind staff. Amazing vibes. Wait times between ordering, meals, drinks, and paying are too long. The server would be too busy. I suggest a fabulous place like this to minimize wait times regardless of how busy it can be.
Food and service never disappoint. One of our favorite places.
Amazing food. Good portions. 2 people can eat their for $50 but need to be strategic in what you order. Makes it a place where you can go all out for a special occasion or drop in after a long day of shopping and get a burger or sandwhich.
Was surprised on price increases. Same as Keg. Atmosphere BB reds improvement.
This place has excellent service. And the food was great too!
Made reservation 3 weeks in advance. Graduation dinner for family, 6:30 reso! Ordered a vodka paralyzer, they could not make this? I asked what kind of bourbon do you have? Veronica our waitress replied we have Buffalo trace and southern comfort. I said that s all you have? Veronica said she was just passing on the info from the bartender. I said great but, souther comfort is not a bourbon. Buffalo trace it is I guess. Ordered a spiced rum and coke, sorry no spiced rum! Service quite slow as well . Dinner time 6:30 pm I order prime rib and everyone else ordered. I m told they are out of prime rib. Manager Sam comes over, he informs me he works there 5 days a week and he is happy to make sure I get a great cut next time! That s wonderful! Next time! I proceed to tell him about the issues ordering drinks and so many things 86d. Sam tells me they are a franchise and they only do what corporate tells them. I ended up ordering a rib steak for 47.00, very thin steak for 47.00 and it was so so. Another family member ordered Santa fe chicken, after a couple of bites we call over Veronica and explain it s over cooked and very dry. Sam comes to the table and says what was wrong with the chicken, it s explained. Sam asks would you like another Santa Fe ? No thanks, nothing else . Whole experience was not good, they keep saying sorry for the delay we are very busy. I ask for the bill and I pay, leaving 15% for bad service. Too top it all off, they charged me for the Sante Fe which was returned. Terrible experience, poor service, no premium bottles, food was mediocre at best. Hey BR better Step up your game, look across the parking lot! Chop has your number. Best of luck to you. Short staff is not busy. Training training and training is key! December 8, 2023 Take 2 Went last night for a birthday. Reso was for 5:30pm, Friday night. Guess what, no prime rib! How is this possible? I ordered a 57.00 Rib steak, poor quality, under cooked and tasteless. Service was not attentive and everything is over priced. 3 glasses of wine for 57.00. I do not mind to pay for quality, this lacks quality from the very start. Where is the pride of ownership? For 450.00 I have expectations and this restaurant failed in every single area. Get the service consistently good, know your wines and cocktails, stock your kitchen so you can sell. No table touches done. And I assume this is because they only hear problems. Clearly, this owner goes in the cheap. He does not hire professionals because professionals cost money. Keep hiring inexperienced staff, this will grow your business . Likely, not professional GM would work in this environment, especially if not being paid for being a GM. Must have product to sell, know your clientele and deliver what they want. I m sorry, there is no excuse to be out of prime rib at 5:30 on a Friday. This is not a one off as this happened the last time I was there, a year ago. Nothing changed. Still poor management, poor service and poor quality product. And did I mention over priced? There are so many better options to spend your money. This guy clearly does not want your business, do him a favour and give your hard earned money to the restaurants who care about their clientele.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience there! The food was amazing, the service was excellent and the atmosphere is perfect for a date night!
Booked a retirement party for 35 people and I waa kind of disappointed that they wouldnt let us serve the cake.
Everything was great and it was a perfect place for a date night!
I wish I knew our waitresses name because she was so enthusiastic about the menu but not pushy at all! Super kind and accommodating :) made me want to be a better server. (lunch shift Wednesday December 13, short hair, back section of dining) Lychee white sangrias were amazing, same with the ribs and chocolate cake! Loved the mushroom lobster bites, but wish there were more then 5 pieces for $17. Very sleek vibe in there but also very welcoming. Honestly blown away by the service and hospitality!
Update Dec 14, 2023 My wife took me here for my birthday. We ordered the Calamari as an appetizer. It was 90% pieces of batter and about 5 small pieces of actual Squid. I also ordered the Ribs for a main. Beans are no longer on the menu and I can honestly say, for $29.00 at BR the ribs at Chucks Roadhouse for $14.00 are just as good. The BR ribs were the best in Ottawa and I used to travel to Montreal for their food. I think I will go else ware for my next outing. I am very disappointed. Great ribs but Ive noticed lately the heaping pile of fries is getting smaller.
Nice and cozy especially with groups. Good service and delicious food. Vegetarian options: Like salad and many more Parking: Easy to park and access. Wheelchair accessibility: The wheelchair accessible from the parking lot and the restaurant as well.
Great food and atmosphere.
Had the ribeye bone in. What a shame. I could literally see right through my steak. Total disappointment. My date had prime rib, and it had so much fat and grizzle. The best part of dinner was the vegetables, lol. Im not kidding. I recommend not going here if youre looking for a real steak.
During the Christmas season, we had the best service from Dylan and Kathleen (or Katherine, sorry if I don t have your name right), just wanted to note this. Food was great and service outstanding!
Baron rouge has always been my go to for fall off the bone delicious ribs. But it seems things have changed The meat tastes like it was simply boiled for 4 hours then slapped around in a store bought bbq sauce. The ribs have absolutely no flavour. The sauce is tasteless. I literally had a jar of Montannas BBQ Apple Butter sauce with me from shopping that we passed around the table to make the ribs edible. Together also ditched the best side they ever offer by taking away the fried apples. Not to mention, the ribs come with fries and coleslaw, but if you change the type of potato (for instance choose mashed instead) you do not get the coleslaw? Even the waitress agree it was a stupid concept. You only get coleslaw with fries. Friend got a steak poked Medium. That took three returns because the cook doesn t know what medium meant. First it came bloody and mooing then it came dried out and overdone same piece of meat just recooked. The only thing we ordered across the table that we had no complaint about is the crème brûlée which was delicious. Our waitress was fantastic and beyond perfect. Parking: Parking is horrible at this location. They Eve. Had people parking up on the sidewalk without telling them to move, yet blocking the wheelchair ramp. I had to ask the car to move but they said they were waiting for their take out. I pointed that no one can get up the ramp. When I pointed it out to management they just smiled and shrugged.
The worst experience I ever had in a restaurant. The food was really bad, lobster was chewy and tasted like rubber, the chips tasted like burnt coal, the whole dish tasted bad and I still had to pay for it even tho I barely touched the food. Overall awful experience, I don t recommend it.
The best word I can use to describe it is meh . Let me make something clear: our server was very polite, and most people were very nice and polite too, BUT... I really didn t like that the server wouldn t let us order the food when we wanted to. We were a party of 15 and she said we should first all order drinks, and then she d only take our order once everybody was there (1 person missing), and when we told her he would be late and we wanted to eat she said we needed first to order appetizers and only after all appetizers she could come back to get the food. I was a server for a while, and this is honestly so unnecessary. I understand that sometimes people are new at the job and can t quite figure out how to get the orders from a big party, but management should have just given our table to an experienced server then. Anyway, that s not even the worst part of the evening. One of us ordered the lobster (an already expensive plate by itself), and it was just terrible. Like, actually burned, hard.. just horrible. We sent it right back and the manager simply said some people like it like that . Won t even comment on how hilarious that response is lol they also charged my friend for the burned lobster even though she didnt even eat 2 bites of it and went home hungry (because the server was already done with main dishes and could only order desert now LOL). Other than that, food was not that good in general - another friend ordered the calamari and it was also a little burned and hard to chew but she battled through. For the price, we were expecting a LOT more from the food and specially the service. All that to say: it s better to cross the mall and go to Mandarin. Service sucks there too but at least you can eat all you want for 36 bucks instead of 30$ on a salad.
