On the site it says that it closes at 11:00 p.m. At 8:00 p.m. it was closed

Excellent haddock and shrimp pasta and server very pleasant and attentive. Very nice dining experience.

Have had nice light lunches out on the patio in the summer. Good inexpensive price point. Enjoyed the Shwarma wrap. Fun trivia nights during the week which when busy the service falters.

Although our server was pleasant and accommodating, the steak was overcooked and tough. The vegetables consisted of 1 Broccoli floret and 2 slices of carrots and an ice cream scoop of potatoes. Butter came in plastic containers and a server who was not ours was snippy with my friend...we wont be back....steaks were 36$ each With tomato juice and a pop...almost 100$

I love this place. I have tried a few different meals but were absolutely not for my taste buds.I am being honest though there were a few meals I would definitely order again. They can make my drinks excellent though. I like all the staff except one other one with black hair and glasses has been very rude to me multiple times. I have always tipped a minimum of $10 and have tipped $40 once.Although it seemed unnoticed .I will definitely be tipping much lower in the future there.Great place to hang with friends and meet new ones.The music is always great.

This was the most horrible restaurant experience i have had in years. What our menu read and what we ordered were two different things. 16 ounce beer in 12 ounce glass. We started with calamari- it was sitting in a pool of grease and many of the breaded calamari was bread. I then ordered the Syrian style pan fried haddock that was supposed to come with pickled turnips and vegetables and rice. No rice available so I asked to supplement a salad. No salad I asked about available so I switched again. Then when the meal came vegetables and turnip were missing so I asked about that. I then got one small piece of broccoli and three small pieces of a carrot in a dish. No turnip. My husband ordered the Beef shawrma. It came as a wrap with mostly lettuce inside. Total cost $82 plus tip. I very rarely leave reviews. Dont know if I have left a bad one in ten years. Be careful before you commit. I felt bad for the waitress- almost as if this happens a lot- I felt like I was bothering her by asking for the actual food I ordered on my plate.

Wings just need to not be breaded ...ceasers are grrrreat ...great place!!!

The waitress was really nice and made sure we were taken care of, other than that not much I can say. Typical bar, they had zero beer on tap when I went, nothing jumped out at me on the menu so I decided to go with the trusty fish and chips(Im half English half dutch so I know fish and chips) and honestly that dish needs a lot of work here. The fish is....ok, batter for the fish definitely nothing to write home about. The fries I had less than 10 of and couldnt have anymore. Not sure what they....battered?...them with but it wasnt good. Im not trying to be mean, just giving insight for improvement.

Came from out of town. Husband ordered the 8oz steak with mashed potatoes .. steak had no taste it was cold as well as the potatoes . I had the 2 piece fish and chips , the fries were over cooked , cold and seem as they were old fries sitting around . Waitress was nice and friendly The Spot don t hit the spot that s for sure

Had a Greek philly wrap.meat way over cooked barely no green peppers mushrooms and I mean nothing about this is a philly wrap so dry and nasty then they have the nerve and charge for a garlic aioli which is not even edible. But the table service was great

I dont know if this place is underrated or the New Glasgow night life/dining experiences are just limited (maybe the latter lol). That doesnt change the fact that the spot is one of the best spots in town.

Me and my partner went out for date night I ordered a chicken wrap it was so dry I couldnt eat it and my partner didnt even get what he order instead of tell him they didnt have what he order they took it on them selfs to just pick something else for him. I also tried to get our waitresses attention but she was to busy soicalizing with friends and other staff. Probably wont be back

Food was delicious, nice location

We were soo disappointed by the food, I love Mediterranean food. The hummus was too lemony. I m pretty sure the steamed veg were frozen. The meat was somewhat seasoned. I hit a bite of rice that tasted of disinfectant. The meal came served on a cheap tortilla and I think that the Syrian bread was fried tortilla too.I think the only reason it was busy was it was trivia night.

Wide selection and great atmosphere. You may need to park down the street by its worth it. Hand made burgers.

Sat on the patio. Service was great. The chips and dips were amazing. Two terrific savory dips with pita chips. The fish and chips were really good and my hubby his Shwarma!

We normally pass through New Glasgow maybe once a year, and we would often stop at the Italian place next door. Unfortunately, it looks like its out of business, so we decided to try The Spot instead, and were glad we did---the meal I had here was one of the best meals Ive ever had in Nova Scotia. I had the pita with hummous and a sort of walnut dip, which I later learned was a Syrian dish called Muhammara. I immediately texted a chef I know: YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS!! The pita chips that came with it were great, and the Chicken Shawarma was even better than the Shawarma I used to have all the time when I lived in Montreal (and much better than anything weve been able to find back home in Alberta). Im not sure what spice it had in it but it made it really stand out. And the pita on that was fresh---not half dried-out like most pita wraps. We had a look at what other people were eating---the clams had just come in an hour before and looked almost good enough to change our order but glad we didnt. This seems like an ambitious place---we definitely will stop there next time were driving though town! (One atmosphere star is hereby deducted for some particularly awful country music.)

$7.50 for a can of beer!? Cmon now.

We met our two granddaughters here for dinner and were very impressed with the service and the food. The steak, burgers and wings were delicious and perfectly cook. It was a very impressive visit. We will definitely be back!!!

Not a bad place to get a bite to eat. Located in downtown new Glasgow, also has outside seating when the weather is good for it. Right on the corner of an intersection, so if you are sitting outside it can be a tiny bit noisy, but great for watching the town go by! Food way good enough, pretty much what you would expect from a place like this. Staff was wonderful and very friendly.

Great place to dine in but dont order take out from them they seem to not care about putting effort into takeout orders.. I got a sandwich with bacon on it that wasnt even cooked kinda gross and shocking cause I had great experience dining in before but the food I got from ordering takeout didnt even taste similar to dinning in.

The service was exceptional for our staff dinner. Plus the deep fried pickles were out of this world! Wing night is also open mic night and the Spot offers a great atmosphere. I cant wait to go back!

We ordered the specials. Philly cheese steak burger. There was no cheese. Portions were small and it was kind of expensive. Also had a wrap. Small portion as well, and little meat. Staff were friendly though.

Really nice layout good size good service nice atmosphere. Food did not impress but will try again in a couple of months. Update : new menu has been rolled out much more selection, everyone we dined with was satisfied. Service is still good, reasonable prices, gained a star.

OK the french fries were interesting - the chicken swarma was the weirdest - could not eat it - the nachos were strange as well. I wonder what drugs the kitchen is on. My sister in law had a chicken dish - on skewers with rice. The chicken gave her fear. She was not convinced it was chicken. Even my diet coke tasted strange. - Whats up? everything was way too salty as well. did not try the salad or the burgers - they must have something that tastes good just dont try what we had.

Nice, friendly pub. The fish and chips I had were very tasty. The beer is predominantly macro offerings but cold and fresh. My wife enjoyed her cocktails and ruben sandwich. Well go back for sure.

Ordered the mix board platter. I would not recommend it. It was missing one of the items, the pepperoni was well over done and it was composed of 75% fries, which were soggy. I did end up getting the missing item, and new pepperoni, but for the price, it isnt worth it. Customer service was good.

Day trip to the city, found this place on Google. Went for lunch, good service, food was good, not too busy.

Stopped in during The Jubilee on Sunday in the late afternoon, there was a gentleman playing guitar he sounded great good musician. After waiting a while for the waitress she informed us that they were real busy and it would be a while before we were served (they didnt seem that busy), so we left to go else where. I think it might have been a great time before we went and saw Sloan and Tom Cochrane. But will never know.

Dinner for 5 with a varied assortment of taste buds that were all satisfied. Everyone left full and content. The staff here are fantastic, and so pleasant. The atmosphere is cozy, and the place is siper clean but again, the food is great, not over done, and definitely not skimpy. Cudos to the management and staff. Kid-friendliness: Definitely a place that likes kids.

Tried the place many times and dont find something GF I can eat. Chicken wings were raw inside last time. Great ambience, though. Lots of drinking options.

Extremely disappointed on a $65 order. Got the clams dinner, barely any fries and they were not even salted, food was cold. Next meal was the turkey sandwich, barely any turkey on this, one bite off half of it and there was none left for the rest of the half. Fries with that were also cold and not salted, had to throw half of them out because they were burnt and too crunchy to chew. Then finally I myself got the Shish-Tawook plate. Chicken was fine but the rice was cold and literally 2 bites of it. Got maybe 4 carrots and a single piece of broccoli. Overall extremely upset over this experience, we figured this would of been a nicer place to get a meal at for our hockey night celebration but we were completely wrong. Feels like we got whatever was left over at the end of the night.

I dont like to give bad reviews, but this place needs to do some improvements. The owner needs to know about the food and wait staff because I think its easy to resolve. I went to The Spot Sat July 10th 2021 evening for supper with 2 of my girlfriends. Ive never eaten here as I dont live in area but they do. They also had not eaten there yet. We initially tried Avenue East but there was an 1 hr wait. Inside The Spot I was quite surprised how nice it was. Nice layout and decor. The photos of the food on the menu looked delightful! But everything good stopped there. There were two problems: the inexperienced waitress and the food. Lets talk about the inexperienced waitress. I ordered a Ceasar, one friend ordered a draft and the other a Coors light. When brought over the waitress put a can of Coors down in front of my friend and I had a Ceasar with no straw. The no straw, not a biggie. But the can of beer in front of a customer in a nice restaurant? Its not a beer garden or a back yard BBQ where you drink out of a can. We asked for a glass. She brought back a tumbler glass! To pour the can of beer into! A tumbler glass. It was then that we knew we had in inexperienced waitress, which can be ok. But the real issue was she had not been trained properly. Mid-way through our meal, she asked if we wanted another drink and my 2 friends ordered water. She brought back 2 but none for me, Water should always be served to everyone, upon sit down. We ordered the Ultimate Bar Mix Board that came with some finger food and 4 types of dips to share as an appetizer and told our waitress that. At the same time, she took our main order. I ordered the Syrian Style Pan Fried Haddock as it sounded yummy and even pointed to it on the menu. My Coors friend ordered the steak. The waitress then went to walk away without taking the 3rd persons order! We hollered her back. My other friend ordered the fish n chips, but hold the chips and wanted a Greek salad. Everything came out together! Im not sure if the inexperienced & untrained waitress placed our order all at once and didnt tell the kitchen staff one was an appetizer or if the kitchen staff screwed it up. So there we were trying to eat the platter appetizer and our mains at the same time. Oh yeah, the waitress forgot our dips with the platter. When we asked, she replied: What type of dip?. Now to part II problem which was probably the worst: the food. Everything was bland, bland, bland. My pan friend haddock had no taste to it. The saffron rice which should be full of flavour had no taste. My friend took one bite of her steak, and then she shed take home to her dog. She too said the steak had no taste. My other friend who ordered the fish n chips but with salad instead of fries, got a tasteless pan-fried haddock too. not a deep-fried piece of fish. In fact, what was delivered to me was NOT the Syrian Style Pan Fried Haddock which was supposed to be topped with a tahini garlic paste, fried pita chips and picked turnips. Instead, they gave me the regular pan-friend haddock which was on another page of the menu. Again, not sure if the waitress messed up or the kitchen. I couldnt eat more than 2 bites of the bland haddock, nor the rice. The only thing that had flavour was the appetizer board and the dips. I joked that I felt we were in a retirement home on no-salt diets, the food was that bland. Upon paying for the food, I curiously asked the waitress if she had worked here long. This was her 2nd shift. Now I can let inexperience slide, but she clearly was missing some fundamental serving skills that no one bothered to train her for. And she doesnt know the menu. As for the food, find some salt and seasoning and maybe Ill give you another try next time Im in town.

Just there for one lunch so far and it was very good. The place was also noticeably spotless! We ll be back.

Chicken was tasteless. A bit disappointing.

It was ok, I ordered the chicken Sharma And my wife ordered the clubhouse. My chicken shwarma was mostly lettuce and not much else I would have liked fries with it but it was not offered and I thought it would come with the order ( there were no fries). The club house was nothing awful but it did not stand out either. Her fries however were good and we shared. Again it was an overall ok meal but we wouldnt waste our time or money to go back there.

Walked into this establishment expecting bar fare, what we got was an experience prepared authentically and full of flavour. Try the special!!! The tabouli salad, the rice.. the only thing that I can say is wow, what a nice surprise.

Best food Ive had in many time and I am a chef. They have dishes that are typically from this area but with a touch of Mediterranean food. The staff was amazingly helpful and nice. We had the chance to meet the owner and she was very welcoming and helpful with tips for us about visiting nova scotia. This pub/restaurant is a must if you are visiting New Glasgow of if you are around the area. They also have life music events! Ask the staff.

It took us an hour to get our food. I paid 15.99 for clams that looked out of a can and breaded. It was mostly batter not a lot of clams. I was very disappointed.

Absolutly terrible experience, warm beer, hot glasses, under cooked food and the rudest waiters in town. To loud to talk and they disrespected my mother, my girlfriend and my grandmother. Absolutly appalling.

I ordered a burger with a salad, instead of fries. What I got was a lame burger and a small bowl of lettuce a slice of tomato and some bits of cucumber. They charged me $5.00 extra for the salad above the price of the burger. Last time I go in there.

After going to two different restaurants for an appy, one over priced and the other had horrible service, the spot hit the spot with great service by our wonderful waitress and the nachos were delicious! Next time we get the urge for an appy, we know where to go!

My wife and I have a cottage near Tatamagouche. We like to take drives around the area frequently having a meal. So we have sampled many places around and yesterday we had the best plate of food (it was the platter with rice, hummus, bread chips, vegetables, meat with dip) we have had in a long, long time! Everything was right! Everything was fresh made. Plus they have local brews on tap. Thanks you. Go here. This is a new destination for us.
