We are Maritimers familiar with seafood. The Lobster roll rated as one of the best we ever had. It was served as it should be with a generous portion of Lobster and mayo. 5 Stars.

Food prepared quickly and the waitress was very friendly polite. Nice to wait on us. Good family place for dinner.

The lobster is very fresh and the preparation is too simple.

The food was great .the waitress not so much. Kid-friendliness: My granddaughter was trying to be friendly with the waitress and was somewhat able to do so. Wheelchair accessibility: I was pleased to see a nice wide ramp. I m not in a wheelchair, but I have a problem with stairs.

An extraordinary restaurant. The staff is always ready to help, they have a good customer service. The restaurant had a delightful ambiance, the food was so delicous and really decent especially the boiled lobster and corn. The premises are extremely clean. I enjoyed my dining experience, I can t wait to come back soon.

The restaurant will be open on 2024.09, but it is currently only accepting tour groups. Enjoy a whole lobster, all you can eat mussels, soup, French fries, bread, salad and more.

I have visited this restaurant for the first time today from Toronto and loved it!! The food was amazing but more importantly service was more than excellent! The waitress Alyssa was pretty impressive as she was super friendly and very attentive to us! I highly recommend this place and will visit again for sure on our next trip to PEI! Thank you!

This place looks a bit unassuming from the outside but we decided to try it because one member of the party had previously enjoyed the lobster poutine and wanted it again. The food was spectacular. We were a party of 4 and had fish and chips, whole clam platter, lobster poutine and the seafood chowder and calamari as an appetizer. The chowder is the best I have tried on the island, and I get chowder almost everywhere I go. This was the best...and not just by a hair...but by far. Creamy and not more potato than seafood. The others in my party all said their food was also delicious. They also mentioned that the fries were also better than most any place. The lobster poutine had more lobster than I thought it would. Service was also very friendly.

Simply speaking, the best place to enjoy the PEI lobster foods and steaks ! Everything is perfect including services, convenience, hospitality and ambiance! The place strongly recommended to any visitors to the PEI! The Korean owners are exceptionally kind and professional!

Very dissapointing, especially for the prices of items, the food was normal, nothing special. The service we had was bad. Our server continued to forget little details of our order, the drinks took 15 minutes to be served, the food time was okay. The bathrooms and the rest of the restaurant were dirty, the tea pot was dirty and dusty so was the sugar dish, my server forgot to bring milk with the tea I was served. I do not recommend to go there.

First of all I liked the atmosphere ( not too mush of tourist atmosphere), of course the food was amazing! You won t find such fresh lobster anywhere else. Also, my an order favorite food was the seafood chowder. It was milky and creamy, big chunks of seafood was very tender. Highly recommended!!! Definitely I like to go again. I normally dont post like this but I had a Horrible experience. Do not go there!! The lobster was insanely chewy. I sent it back and they charged me 45 bucks for it. Horrible food and Horrible customer service. I would not recommend. Food

We enjoyed an excellent lunch today. Mussels were abundant, lobster roll was huge and tasty, and the lobster chowder was very tasty and loaded with seafood. I apologize for not taking photos. However, the other photos of the lobster rolls are still accurate.

Very disappointed with the service, two young guys acting like they doing us a favor by serving us I ask the spoon for the lobster(I don t know the name of this spoon) anyways and one of this guys told me the spoon should be on my table but I said no is not on the table so he said with a sarcastic and ugly face well we don t have no more and I said how do I gonna eat then and he just turn his back, So anyways when they pass the lobster we have some dirty plates on the table bcoz we just finish eating some salad so we put at the side the table and one of this guys put the lobster on top of the dirty dishes, very nasty ppl maybe racists? Idk but we didn t deserve this service

The lobster rolls were not good at all. The lobster was chopped and drowned in a thick mayo cream. It didn t taste nor lobster nor mayo. Couldn t say for sure what we were eating as there was so much sauce that you couldn t get the lobster s taste, and though the rolls were very little, they were very fast stodgy. The service didn t help as we had all together appetizers and main meals, not only the table was all crowded which was not practical for eating, but some more we had our main meal cold as it was served at the same time as the appetizer. We had to hurry eating our appetizer to avoid eating a too cold meal behind. So, not only we didn t have time to enjoy slowly the appetizer, but before even we finished eating the main dish, we were asked to pay the bill, which is not very welcoming. Just after leaving the restaurant, I had a painful diarrhea. I was shivering and felt headache. So not a nice experience, but an expensive one. The food was more expensive than other places in the area for a lesser quality.

The food was excellent , exceptional service , and I want to personally commend Joseph on the way he handled a testy client( tour bus tourist) who wanted another lobster because the shell was darker than her friends and it looked smaller (are they for real) . Well done Joseph, with that kind of patience and personality you will be successful.

We tried this restaurant tonight for the first time and it definitely wont be our last! The seafood chowder was the best Ive ever had. The Bacalao a la Miel was amazing and the chocolate cake.... soooo good! The owners are very friendly and they treat their staff very well. The service was excellent. So happy we tried this hidden gem and cannot wait to return!

Great Lobster Roll! (also had the Chowder and Mozza sticks)Good size servings and very good pricing. The waiter we had was fantastic. Decor was 80s style PEI nautical themed with pine finish. Lots of sea memorabilia scattered on the walls. Great place for great food or if your on a budget.

Very friendly service and a nice quaint feel to the restaurant. A bus tour came in while we were having dinner so it got quite busy but this did not affect our service at all. The lobster meal was delicious and came with salad, muscles, corn, and lobster for a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend if you re looking for a lobster dinner!

Go anywhere else. Priced too high for the quality of food that we received. Overcooked the whole clams and too much Caesar dressing on the salads. Everything felt like it was purchased at a grocery store freezer section and served at a homemade price. No flavour. The french fries were good, but we went for the clams. Also, the place has zero atmosphere. It has potential but needs a lot of work. They also have tour buses arriving with like 50 to 75 people sitting in the same seating as the general public. We quickly felt like we were at a cafeteria or summer camp. Anywhere else.

First time eating here and the food was really good, we ordered Seafood chowder, Fish and Chips and Lobster Roll. We recommend here. The Lobster Rolls and Fish and Chips was great. There s a lot of meat and very fresh also the Chowder has a lot of ingredients, so we felt full. It was a very satisfying meal, and we are willing to revisit.

My husband and I went there for a quick bite to eat before going to the black light mini golf (quite fun) I got the lobster roll and my husband just some onion rings. The roll was awesome! Very happy with the amount of meat. Its lobster so you expect it to be expensive but is was worth it. The fries and onion rings were great too. I just wish the coleslaw portion was a bit bigger. Also, the staff were fantastic! Will totally recommend.

We were looking for a place for fresh seafood. This was not the place. We ordered fried clams. They were obviously frozen and pre-breaded. There was barely any flavour to them. The fries were not even that good. We expressed our disappointment and they took off a can of pop. The waitress however was very kind. The local beer was wonderful.

Had a late lunch here with my family. Service was speedy and the servers were very friendly. Place was welcoming and clean. Food was tasty. Would definitely go back again! Perfect place for a large group or family!

The lobster roll was delicious. 4 oz of meat with claw sitting on top. Friendly staff. Very clean, lots of seats. Can sit outside on a beautiful day. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free Parking: Lots of parking, wheelchair parking also.

Food is basically sea food ála fry-stand everything deep fried with no taste.

This would have been a five star but I m giving it 4.5 due to inexperienced wait staff. Don t get me wrong our waitress was kind and forthright. But I guess my standard is high when it comes to wait staff knowing the menu inside and out. She was good and readily admitted her mistake if not putting in my order for chowder. Despite this we had a great lunch experience. I ordered wings and a bowl of cavendish seafood chowder. Amazing. So so good. My wife and in laws orders bowls of clam chowder. They expressed how good it was. Come by and experience this amazing restaurant with great tasting food.

Not the best restaurant food experience!! Seafood chowder was just potatoes and onions not a hint of seafood, lobster poutine is a tiny portion, DNA test will probably prove a presence of LOBSTER in it, I didnt. Overpriced! Will not recommend this place.

My family and I came here for one purpose: to eat their lobster dinner set (and nothing else)! We ordered two steamed and two baked; latter was $2 more per set. All of us were very satisfied with the meal. Their lobsters were very fresh, the sauces were tasty, the corns were sweet, the salad came with Italian dressing, mussels were nice touch, and we were so glad that they served garlic bread instead of fries (because we have been eating too much fries)! The restaurant was relatively empty on a Friday at 1 PM. Our server was very nice and attentive to us. Overall, I would recommend this place!

This is probably the best lobster roll you will find in Cavendish. My wife was quite pleased. It wasnt as good as another popular restaurant in PEI serves, but it came in 2nd place so not too shabby. I had the chicken fingers which were plentiful, but nothing special. No different than the frozen ones in the supermarket. The fries, however, were very tasty. Again, not the best, but very good. Also, friendly and professional staff I think most people will be very happy here.

Impeccable service. On the other hand, the dirtiest restaurant I saw on my entire trip. If you want to pay for fried food, youve come to the right place. I recommend the chowder for the best value.

Was excited to try the chowder! Had good flavor but I would swear there was imitation something in there. There was a few pieces of goodness but the majority was square and rubbery! I love seafood and chowders are my thing, and this did not taste real. Everyone at the table agreed. 3 of us got the chowder.

My husband and I stopped by here for quick dinner while taking a break from the rides at Sandspit (next door). We wanted something quick to eat - but still yummy seafood - that we could get nearby and then return to the rides at Sandspit. This was the perfect choice! Our server, Maddy, was incredibly outgoing and friendly and made us feel super welcome, despite the fact that we came in 15 minutes before closing. My husband had the lobster roll and I had the lobster poutine. Both were incredible, but my husband rated the lobster roll as one of his top 5 lobster rolls I ve ever had! because the lobster meat was diced up small (not chunky) so the flavour blended nicely with the creamy sauce. The fries in the poutine were perfectly crispy and delicious! Thanks again Maddy! We appreciated all the advice advice the island, as well.

my family and i visited pei for a week and this was by FAR the best restaurant we d been to! the prices were reasonable, and the portions were HUGE (see the bucket of mussels below for proof). the lobster seafood chowder was a favourite (the best ever, according to my mom). i would highly recommend eating here! we ll definitely be back in the future :)

Food was terrible. The fish was over cooked. My husband ordered clams and he got 4 clam necks on his plate (they were also over cooked). Waitress was friendly. The place looked really run down.

Restaurant was empty, five pm on a Monday in June. Service was attentive and polite. Had 1.25 lb. Lobster dinner, which came with mussels, corn, garlic bread, salad. Food was good, fresh and hot. Ladies washroom was not clean, trash overflowing, a bit smelly. Kind of put me off.

Amazing service and delicious lobster

Very disappointed with our experience. The lobster rolls were small and expensive and on a hot dog bun with very tough flavourless lobster. We ordered gravy with our fries and were not informed that it was 3.00 more for a tiny cup of gravy we were asked if we wanted it though. Never saw our waitress. This meal for 2 people costed us 72.00 and we were left severely disappointed. It was unacceptable for the quality of food. We also saw one of the waitresses leaning over peoples food in the kitchen with her hair brushing across it. We were not asked how our meal was and given a snotty look when we didnt tip for poor service. We will not be back and will not recommend this place.

Fresh Lobster and Lobster Roll Mussels. It was one of the best meals I ate on vacation. And the friendly service of the staff made the food even more delicious. If I come back, Ill have to try the others.

We ordered the baked lobster, lobster roll, and lobster poutine tonight. They were so fresh and tasty, I loved them so much. The baked lobster was especially delicious. The server we had was also super nice and smiley, she tried her very best to fulfill our needs even during the busy hours. I would definetly want to come again and try out other food!! This was the best restaurant that I have ever been to and I highly recommend this place for anyone who likes seafood or not!!

The worst restaurant ever, we have a reservation for 7 ppl when we get there they set we down and told us because their pretty busy so we might have to wait 15mins, we said no problem it s really understandable,then about 5 tables after us coming, later on .we watch their food been set on for all the 5 tables, I mean I m not saying other tables got serve ahead us is not good I m saying whatever the reason is just don t lie to your customer that s not cool.

Just had a wonderful dinner at this popular restaurant. Our awesome server was named Sue. I had the fish and chips, the fish had a crispy badder and the fries came out hot! My wife had the Lobster Roll and came out with the meat of a lobster claw as a garnish on top of the roll mmmmmmmm! I definitely recommend this establishment. Thank you Sue, it was a real pleasure.

The fish and chips at the lobster shack were amazing. I had a cup of chowder as an appetizer, which was served on time and delicious. Homemade as well. Service was prompt and food was served hot. Menu is reasonably price and offers a good selection. Highly recommend.

I was served by an amazing waitress who goes by the name of Drew. I was very impressed with the food today !! I was served the lobster poutine.

Fast service, server was polite. Baked lobster was not good! Over cooked, dry, no flavor. Other things we ordered were edible. Overall just an ok place to eat. The random mirror on the wall with Lobster juice all over it threw us off from the get go. VERY expensive. Bill was $250 for family of 5 will not return.

Had the tempura fish and chips. It was panko, not tempura and there wasn t a speck of seasoning on the fish. Same coating on my companion s crispy shrimp, scallop and clam platter. Seriously tasteless. Good fries. Good poutine and perhaps other items have some flavour but the kitchen really needs a flavour lesson. Server Drew was great and super friendly.

Came back to this restaurant after a few years. First place our family went to eat in PEI after not visiting the island. The fish n chips were fabulous. Not what the usual floury and oily fish n chips you are used to, better than any other place. My mom ordered baked lobster which we never tried before and it gave a new perspective to what lobster is like. Of course we ordered the seafood chowder as well. So comforting and delicious. Can t wait to come back again.

Gotta get some LOBSTA !!!! Here is the place for some lobster feast. Local beers, fresh sea food. Service was just okay, but i guess its just about everywhere the same thing, right? Be patient... these are new employees! Anyway, food is excellent. Fish chowder is AMAZING ! Nothing fancy at this restaurant, a bit pricy.. but very good. I recommend!

I m still dreaming about this lobster roll! So filling, and every bite was fresh. Not pictured were the fries which as another review said, were exactly like Costco fries (YUM!!!!). I wish we could eat here every day of our East Coast trip.

The staff hustle and do their best to deal with the extreme demand during the tourist season. The food is hearty and good. Dont expect a Michelin star restaurant but the name says it all Lobster Shack. I would go back for sure. Nice people.

To much $$$ for what we got.

This restaurant was highly recommended by our tour guide and was one of the 7 add on meal options. Is was a set dinner buffet, which should have included all you can eat seafood chowder, mussels, mashed potato and one whole lobster per person that would be served individually. The group was so looking forward to this highly recommended meal. To our disappointment the so called chowder was extremely watery and tasteless with lots of potatoes, celery and even though I kept looking for seafood, just managed to get two pieces of mussels. The mashed potato turned out to be potato salad which was ok. The steamed mussels had no seasoning and were overcooked, most of the shells were empty. The lobster was good and was served with something that looked like butter, but was definitely not butter. I was so disappointed with the quality of food. To the owners: You get Tour companies to promote your business, by bringing their clients to your restaurant, you also advise to having world famous sea food chowder. If your kitchen cannot accommodate larger groups,It s better to refuse the reservation than comprise your reputation by serving sub standard food. please do not add extra water in the chowder to feed the group as this is not acceptable. I gave the restaurant a one star because the lobster was good.

We ate here last night and had a great experience.. nice warm atmosphere on a cool and rainy evening...prices were reasonable. food was good, hot and servings were generous..our waiter, Joseph, was exceptional...they also have a large deck with umbrellas to enjoy on a nicer day...we will definitely be back!

My parents thought the fish and chips were the best - the restaurant doesn t use the regular fish and chips batter, it is very crispy and not oily/greasy and flavourful. My 10 yo thoroughly enjoyed it too. My husband and I had the lobster roll. Super delicious. But the pièce de résistance was definitely the lobster seafood chowder!! Soooooo good. And last but certainly not least, the service from our waiter was prompt, helpful and friendly.

Came in off the street with a family of 5, we were seated almost immediately. The server brought us water to start and menus to browse. We ordered the Seafood Lobster Chowder, Fish and Chips, Poutine, Onion Rings, and a Grilled Cheese kids meal for my youngest who is a picky eater. The food arrived fast considering there was.another large group who ordered ahead of us. Everything was served piping hot. The Chowder came with a warm roll and was rich and delicious with lots of seafood pieces in the Chowder. The fish with the fish and chips was huge and the batter was crispy and the fish was well seasoned and flaky. The fries were also crispy without being overcooked. Everything was delicious and the server checked in shortly after we started eating to make sure everything was great. The servers know their stuff and we were extremely happy with our visit. Will eat again. 10/10

Best baked lobster in the world fresh every day. Amazing staff with a cook that knows a perfect lobster. Fish and chips are excellent. We will be back on our next visit to PEI

Heart of the fun filled tourist destination! This resto knows what PEI is about, delicious food and friendly & excellent service, the nautical ambiance is cozy too! Adam our server is the best! You gotta have the steamed lobster meal with PEI mussels. The best! We sure will be back again!

A good quality, reasonably priced seafood restaurant that is a much better than the other options in the immediate Cavendish area, especially the Boardwalk. The service was quick and the food delicious!

went in for a sit down supper at approximately 6 pm sat down at a table and for the next half hr we didnt see 1 waiter no water no menu no communication .worst service (what service ) we ever got.1st and last time there .

This place is super busy and they only had 2 servers.. but these guys were amazing had a smile on their face and they did their best... our server adam #95 was amazing food was really good price was really good... we had muscles 10.99$ and it was huge bucket and and the lobster roll was amazing and the chowder best I have had on this road trip across east coast. And the fish and chips was so good... overall I was impressed with the food... sorry I ate most of the food b4 taking pictures lol

Having had a delicious lobster meal for lunch elsewhere on the island - we ordered to take out some fish n chips, DON T. The fish was fresh but overcooked and the batter was coarse and tasteless. The fries were the type that are coated with something and we re not crisp but soggy. The meal was accompanied by the absolute tiniest, wee portion of coleslaw I ve ever seen, really it was but a tablespoon serving half filling a very small plastic container. Same amount of tarter sauce along with that. We each ate less than half our meal. I realize it s a tourist destination but some respect for us would be appreciated.

Cavendish Lobster Shack is what East coast travel dreams are made of. You always hear about East coast hospitality, but we didn t experience it from any other establishment or local until we walked into this restaurant. The staff are beyond accommodating and attentive. We felt so welcomed and cared for! We got a lobster roll and the seafood chowder. -The lobster roll was great! Lots of lobster meat and the bread was perfectly toasted. The French fries are like Costco fries and if you know Costco fries then you know it was hecking good. -The seafood chowder was the best we have ever tasted (though it can be heavy for those sensitive to salt/cream). It was SO good we ordered a second bowl even though we were already stuffed. I also LOVED their bread roll; it was a sweet bread that was deadly delicious when dipped into the chowder. We compare every lobster/seafood meal we have on our East coast trip to the Cavendish Lobster Shack and nothing measures up. We ll definitely be coming back to Cavendish if not for the beaches then just for this place.

So delicious.This is fast friendly service. Mostly seafood of course but a nice selection of non seafood as well . Very roomy with a nice outdoor patio.Family atmosphere. Will visit again.

Taste is the best

We stopped here after travelling all day to get to PEI and were looking for a quick supper. We all had the lobster rolls, and they were absolutely delicious. Tons of lobster in them, and ready quite quickly. It was only after we ate that our gracious server told us he had been about to close when we walked in (we arrived three minutes after closing time, but we didnt realize this). Rather than turning us away, he stayed open just for us. He was very nice and it was a wonderful start to our vacation. I would definitely eat here again (but Ill keep on eye on the hours next time). Thank you so much for your hospitality.

I love this restaurant. Lobster is fresh, mussel is sweet, and chowder is tasty. Really have good time there!!!

The whole lobster is very enjoyable to enjoy alone, but Atlantic lobster does not seem to have the freshness, sweetness and solid texture of Pacific lobster...
